XVI - The Tower - Perhaps it was telling how quickly the sound of the explosion was forgotten. Even with ringing ears, with hearts still pounding with fear and confusion, the people of London's eyes were pulled upwards. Every false light on the city felt forgotten, for a half moment. It hemorrhaged golden light, setting the darkness ablaze and burning like blistered caramel. So warm, so sweet. You could almost forget the taste of iron, the sound of hymns torn from burning lips. Then, of course, the light vanished, leaving only smoke and a ruined building. That’s when the screaming began.

Big fan of when a character's grief/trauma/guilt manifests as physical symptoms. Big fan of characters keeping things so tight inside them that it makes them sick. Big fan of when the line blurs between a character's mental trauma and physical illness until it's hard to tell which is which anymore.

time for skeleman
with the lack of any other info yet, all I can focus on are those Charles Lloyd-looking sunglasses. they are absolutely sending me. I feel like we're gonna fall through a tree or whatever and this stitched-up boney gentleman is gonna pop out from behind a gravestone and start serenading us with some smooth jazz on the saxophone.
or should I say...the saxoBONE???????

claudia BEYOND justifiably hating lestat and louis and dying hating them because they didn’t see her as a person with her own agency and treated her like a child at best and a toy at worst and both are ultimately to blame for her suffering BUT louis and lestat both genuinely loving her (in their own fucked up and deeply inadequate ways) and seeing her as their daughter and being irreparably traumatized by her death and their culpability in her suffering and the knowledge that she died hating them and it’s their fault and they can never make it right ever
