Softly, the stardust began to trickle between Ink’s fingers, and he cluthed the fragile body of Lumin closer to himself, as if he could stop it from vanishing in his arms.

“If not for me, then for Nightmare. Lumin, sweet light, he will not survive this loss. P—please, Lumin, don’t go...”

His sockets stung and the sight of Lumin’s serene face grew blurred, yet still it glittered as bone slowly turned to the most beautiful stardust Ink had even laid eyes upon, and he mourned and hated it, because it took away his Lumin; his faerling.

“Lumin...?”

The night was silent.

Scar wasn’t human. He knows he isn’t. He doesn’t know if he’s ever been human. He yearns for phenomena that appear in humans, in the living. Scar lived, he was alive, but that wasn’t enough. He wishes to feel, to feel wind blowing by him, to feel the rain as it falls down. To be able to stand, live, without everyone deciding that that’s not how it’s supposed to be. Scar wasn’t made to live, he was made to please. There’s a difference between living and pleasing, Scar seemingly sucked at both.

Scar wasn’t human, he never will be. But if he needs to pretend he is, just so he can act like he’s living, for the comfort of others, to please, then he will.

😭 CRYING - what makes them cry? do they cry easily?

Make him human again.

Both on a technical and psychological standpoint would that make him cry.

Karthus is living pretty well now, for the most part nobody on the Shadow Isles takes him seriously, and he has no great goals or desire to overtake the place. He dreamed for his new body, and was granted his desires. His wish came true, essentially, his love for death made him what he is.

To deny him his lifelong dream and return him to living would genuinely terrify and enrage him. Multiple reasons are a factor to this.

Karthus loves being a lich. He loves being able to sing his song, be weightless, not need air, not need food, and he loves killing people and taking them to the underworld.

The reality of course is that he never once has been happy to be alive. He hated it. Noxus was a place of death and pain to him. Being human was nothing but misery. He has no good memories of being alive. So the idea of being forced back into that situation terrifies him.

More than anything, Karthus fears having to eat no matter what. He hated eating. He hated starving. He didn't want that part of his life. Being mortal is awful. He always believed this, and is committed to that belief.

On the more technical aspects, Karthus would genuinely have to become human to cry because he doesn't have tear ducts anymore.

The world was a confusing smear of pain, colors, and a relentless rain. His back was against the wall, legs soaked where they lay on the pavement of the alley. The cold sting of rain felt good against the swollen half of his face, but sharp as needles where it dug into split skin.

Four people had jumped him. One was unconscious or dead, further down the alley, two more had staggered off carrying a third. He wasn't even sure what they'd wanted, two had grabbed him and battle instinct swallowed the German entirely. His left arm was broken, his bad leg was howling in pain, and his glasses were somewhere on the ground, probably submerged in a puddle. He doubted his ability to find them in broad daylight, let alone the pitch black of the storm.

A lightning flash and a slosh of feet through water brought his attention screaming to another human being in that alley, and the revolver he carried was in his hand in an instant. Fritz had no hope of hitting any target in that screaming dark with no glasses, and he blinked through the water that sluiced through his sopping black hair.

"Who are you!?"

One time I was working as a waiter at a burger joint where the fries were tossed in salt and coriander and as I was bringing food over to the table for these two huge beefy guys one of them asks what the green stuff is so I go "it's coriander" and his friend goes very seriously "he can't have coriander" and I'm thinking shit ok maybe he's allergic and guy 1 starts pulling up his sleeve to show me something and I'm thinking shit shit shit he's probably breaking out in hives rn and it's my fault but he just shows me his arm and he has this huge cursive font tattoo that just says "I fucking hate coriander"

sometimes while i think about that while a lot of adults did not treat me very well as a kid i also get a lot of 'in hindsight this person was so good to me and i didnt even realize it until now' as an adult. today i was thinking about how the first anime convention i ever went to was when i was 10 and i asked the man working the manga cafe what manga was/what a good place to start was (because the con was very overstimulating for me and i had gotten lost) and he asked how old i was before recommending yotsuba and asking if i wanted any water or something to eat. its really simple but theres a lot of bad things that couldve happened or he could've been careless in his recommendation, but instead yotsuba has remained one of my favorite manga for years, and probably a large portion of why i continue to read manga as an adult... i think adults who try to involve kids in the world safely/kindly even in little ways make so much more of a difference than they ever really know.

So laios and fallin have been ostracized by society since they were children, Marcille has lifelong grief from constantly outliving her loved ones that leads her to dark magics, kabru’s village was destroyed by monsters, senshi and mithrun both have horror movie level backstories, izutsumi was sold as a freak show attraction, and then there’s chilchuck, who is a normal ass divorced middle aged man. And somehow he’s the most shady and secretive out of all of them

Edit can y’all please let me live I didn’t make this post bc I think chilchuck doesn’t have his own trauma or doesn’t experience racism or that being a union boss is a walk in the park or whatever I made it because him lying that he cheated on his wife to get the others to stop asking about his family was funny as fuck.
