She knew your birthday? You aren't sure when she learned that since you don't bother to bring it up all that much. It's not a day worth celebrating to you, yet here she was... She made you a cake and got you a gift? That's a bit overdoing it you think. Yet you take the cake and gift bag from her. You set the cake down on the bench so that you can easily look into the bag and see the plush of a rather familiar Sanrio character staring back at you. Just like the phone chain she got you some time ago as well. She's rather fond of matching with you. It makes you chuckle. To think this all started just because you both enjoyed playing with animals together... and now you are rather close.

❛ They came in a set, you say? ❜ You take the plush out of the bag to look it over. It's pretty cute, honestly. You'll have to make it very clear that it's not a toy for your dogs to chew on. They are pretty good about that, but it never hurts to be clear. ❛ Well~ Aren't I just the luckiest person alive to have the matching set with you. ❜ You say this as you set the plush down and take a bit of cake frosting onto your finger before smearing it across Kuroko's lips.

Licking your finger after the fact and simply smiling as if you were not just behaving in a rather brash way. ❛ Well, The frosting tastes good~ So I'm sure the rest of the cake will be perfect. I hope my teeth will feel like they are rotting. ❜

There's very little reaction from Sou despite the news being so tantalizing. Remaining composed where many men would have jumped with eager hands and sultry tongue. It's a warning, almost telling by how calmly he reacts to her suggestive comment. There's nothing he'd like more than to act on this but where was the fun in skipping right to the good part? Kiba was already teasing him with a prize he couldn't quite claim yet, why not have a little fun?

"Wow, good thing there isn't a breeze!" It's ominous the way he says it as if he were vaguely implying something. The grin that he holds almost reaffirms the suspicious act he has yet to commit, smile splitting from ear to ear. He isn't immediately acting on it, waiting for Kiba's reaction. Leaving it rather ambiguous, forever blurring the lines between warning and jest.

"Shuichi-nii! I brought you some ice cream!" Rui holds up a bowl of vanilla ice cream, topped with chocolate sauce, nuts, and whipped cream. "I thought you could use something sweet today." As sweet as she normally is, something is different about Rui with the way she's smiling. But no need to read too much into it! "I hope you like it!" But what Shuichi doesn't know is the "ice cream" is actually frozen mayonnaise! Yuck!

"Ohh, ice cream for me?" He smiles in delight, as he accepts and looks at the bowl of supposed ice cream. It had a lot of his favorite toppings on it, so he was very much looking forward to it. "Aww you're so sweet... thank you, Rui. I could go for something sweet right now, yeah: yes, I'll enjoy it!" Shuichi didn't think too much about Rui's odd seeming smile... which he'll immediately regret the moment he eats a spoonful of the "ice cream", and-

"Mmrgh-?!" Nearly gags when he spits it out. "Gyuuuugh, what the?! Wh-What is this?!"

It definitely didn't taste like vanilla. But rather....the familiar taste of mayonnaise? And that's when it hit him. "..........." He stares hard at her. Oh: he wasn't letting her get away with that. Slowly, while still staring at her, scoops some of the frozen mayo in his spoon. Even making sure to get a little bit of everything for the topping, just for her.

".........Come here, you." He's slowly approaching her, the hand holding the spoon extended. And if she dares tries to move or run, he will literally proceed to chase her around the room! "Get over here!! I can't believe you! Tricking me like that: you're gonna....h-hehe....suffer with me, too. Come on, let big brother share his ice cream with you!!" He couldn't even try to keep a straight face, anymore: he'll burst out laughing, while still chasing of approaching her with the spoon. He of course, wasn't actually mad at all. She did get him good, and overall, it was a very funny prank. "Let's see how you l-like it, hahaha...!"

gin’s breathing slows slightly—the ears on his hood flop up as he uncurls a fraction from his tight hug around mew-chan. the boy raises his head to gaze at nao. she looks so tired… but she’s offering protection anyway. a promise of it, at least.

were his heart smaller with experience, were he a little older, maybe he would see it as a promise unable to be kept. but what is gin ibushi if not hopefully trusting?

It just means that the rabbit is comfortable with her, however. Rabbit are usually some of the quieter creatures you encounter. They are always on alert and aware of their surroundings. So, for once to be this talkative means that it is relaxed. She's a very relaxed rabbit with a girl who is as skittish as rabbits are meant to be. How ironic. Though, you are quite amused by the situation. Everything about this is unusual for you. You are only trying to be nicer to her because those that already have low self esteem and expect people to be mean to them are not very interesting to you. Yet, the rabbit liked her quite a lot.

Well, you suppose you can continue to try and be nice to her for the time being.

Given we have only had them interact in a modern verse, you get modern owen exclusively, but he's still weird and unusual. Given how skittish and timid Kuroko is, he tries a bit harder to not actually show her his really strange and unusual side. He doesn't want her to think there is something wrong with him or that is he is a monster (but it's only a matter of time she learns that he can do more then just talk with animals.)

He still teases her but he tries to be playful about it. He knows he's not the type of person that does well around anxious and timid people so there are plenty of times where he probably says something he shouldn't, but i like to think that she's been around him long enough to know he doesn't mean any harm........ he's just like that.

They have matching phone charms. Not just one set, multiple different sets of matching phone charms that they jut swap out. It's something subtle that Owen can do that none of his other friends will bother him about. If he was wearing something like a bracelet or necklace they'd ask, but if he just has a phone charm they'd be like 'oh, he just like kuromi' and they'd be right. It's perfect.

I have told this to you before, but if anyone was genuinely mean to her while he is around, he will attempt to commit murder right in front of her. This is only a small exaggeration. He will, at the very least, punch someone in the face for being mean to her. He has no fear in his own body, so he will fight literally anyone for her. Sorry, to her if she sees him get hurt because he's the biggest idiot ever. He's just like that!

shizuka’s not a total fan of hugging.      he remembers such a revelation rather well, entertaining no misinterpretation of displacement, ignorance, towards her emotions simply because she has granted him a momentary reprieve, consolation and still even so does such a reality stop him from giving her one final squeeze, eventually pulling away with some sort of cheekiness upon his face ( it was exactly 45 seconds, as was counted in his head ) and offering a laugh in turn.

"Aww," is all he offers her comments with eyes pinched shut and an annoyingly pleased tone of voice. "If I didn't know any better I'd say you were flirting with me!" She wants to provoke him, that's actually not a bad choice in this situation. She's so clever, how exciting! This entire song and dance comes to him like breathing and recognizing another's talents is just another professional acknowledging the beauty of the trade. What a once-in-a-lifetime chance he's been presented!

"Is it a crime to be out for a nightly stroll all by myself? It's really the only time I get to hear myself think. You can imagine what it's like being surrounded by chatty people all the time and now here I am!" Eyes snap back open rather than gradually revealing themselves out of habit, smile relentless in holding itself as if it were permanently glued in its position. His demeanor wasn't practiced, it was natural. She's quick, too quick. If he were any slower he would have really been a goner but he could respect her efforts. There's a good chance he wouldn't be able to forget this face, so he might as well probe for the rest of her.

Sou offers her a slight shrug of his shoulders, nonchalantly answering her questions like he was shooting the breeze. "I'd ask you the same question but I think we both know what you had in mind tonight. Kinda sucks it didn't work out!" His jeering was always intentional, purposefully rubbing her failure in her face to see how effectively he could get under her skin. What made her tic? How soon would skin reflect those crimson eyes if made of fury rather than passion? When would enough be enough? A breaking point, ah, that's what always got his blood pumping. He wanted to see hers with his own eyes, even if that meant chasing it.

"Okay okay, I guess neither of us are going anywhere for the time being, so why don't we get to know each other?" Surprisingly, he's completely serious. "If you don't like that I could stroll right down to the police and tell them about your little hobby, so I really think I'm letting you off easy here." He was! He was such a gentleman. "Who do I have to thank for my attempted murder?"

Shuichi was always a proud big brother when it came to how hard Rui worked; but also like a big brother, he worried whenever she was pushing herself far too much, despite her having caught a cold lately. He was taking care of her today, just to make sure she will actually rest. He had to step out for a bit to buy some medicine from the nearest store for her, along with some ingredients for miso soup.

As he was opening the door to her room, he was about to announce: "Rui, I'm back! I've got you some medi..." And saw that she was out of bed, again... "....cine.... Rui." He crosses his arms, looking very unamused. "O-ohhh, why did I have a feeling you'd get back up... I told you, if you keep overdoing it, you're only going to worsen your cold!" While he, especially as a fellow detective, can understand how hard it is to actually just stop working on stuff and rest, he didn't want her doing the same mistakes he would make. And so, without warning: he goes over to lift Rui out of her seat. "It looks like I have no choice. Detective Shitai, I'm going to have to place you under arrest."

Her sentence being, once she is placed on the bed... being confined to the blanket roll that Shuichi is currently wrapping her up in! "I'm sorry, but this is for your own good!" He declares in a tone that most definitely did not sound sorry. If she was going to refuse to rest, then he was just going to have force her: out of care and love, of course.... and maybe partially out of amusement, trying hard to keep a straight face as he easily wraps her up into a tiny burrito. Once he sees she is tightly secured in the blanket roll, he dusts his hands together with a proud look on his face. "Done! You are now a Rui-Nigiri Roll. Don't worry, I'll still help you take your medicine and eat your soup. Aren't you so happy to have such a caring big brother?"

He knows he was being such a meanie, but he couldn't help himself, snickering as he gently pats her head. He just wishes for his precious little sister to recover as fast as possible, is all... "And if you're good and actually try to rest... I may be merciful and release you early. Okay?"
