"Shuichi-nii! I brought you some ice cream!" Rui holds up a bowl of vanilla ice cream, topped with chocolate sauce, nuts, and whipped cream. "I thought you could use something sweet today." As sweet as she normally is, something is different about Rui with the way she's smiling. But no need to read too much into it! "I hope you like it!" But what Shuichi doesn't know is the "ice cream" is actually frozen mayonnaise! Yuck!

"Ohh, ice cream for me?" He smiles in delight, as he accepts and looks at the bowl of supposed ice cream. It had a lot of his favorite toppings on it, so he was very much looking forward to it. "Aww you're so sweet... thank you, Rui. I could go for something sweet right now, yeah: yes, I'll enjoy it!" Shuichi didn't think too much about Rui's odd seeming smile... which he'll immediately regret the moment he eats a spoonful of the "ice cream", and-

"Mmrgh-?!" Nearly gags when he spits it out. "Gyuuuugh, what the?! Wh-What is this?!"

It definitely didn't taste like vanilla. But rather....the familiar taste of mayonnaise? And that's when it hit him. "..........." He stares hard at her. Oh: he wasn't letting her get away with that. Slowly, while still staring at her, scoops some of the frozen mayo in his spoon. Even making sure to get a little bit of everything for the topping, just for her.

".........Come here, you." He's slowly approaching her, the hand holding the spoon extended. And if she dares tries to move or run, he will literally proceed to chase her around the room! "Get over here!! I can't believe you! Tricking me like that: you're gonna....h-hehe....suffer with me, too. Come on, let big brother share his ice cream with you!!" He couldn't even try to keep a straight face, anymore: he'll burst out laughing, while still chasing of approaching her with the spoon. He of course, wasn't actually mad at all. She did get him good, and overall, it was a very funny prank. "Let's see how you l-like it, hahaha...!"

your body came to a halt for a brief minute, and you looked up from your phone to find that he was not paying attention either. "what did you just say to me?" you asked, your eyebrows quirking in amusement.

"oh," megumi suddenly realised, "i think i didn't make it clear."

“my phone, could you grab my phone for me?"

your laughter filled the room as you shook your head; you aren't going to let him off the hook easily. "no, what you said before that." your boyfriend was bewildered and innocent. “what?"

“what’s with your face?”

“what about it?”

"megumi,” you chuckled between your words. “you just called me babe for the first time."

the man was unsure whether he had actually stated that out. although he has been thinking about it, he was hesitant to start calling you in an endearing way. "that," he objected, attempting to preserve "i did not." he said, hiding his humiliation and the tingling sensation on his face.

you insisted with a grin. "you did."

"i didn't." you didn’t believe he’s still denying, though his blushing betrayed his words.

"but you're red."

"i'm not!”

"fine, whatever you say." you finally relented, handling him his phone. “here, babe."

"shut it." god, megumi is so frustrated, the man can't even look at you, and he's hiding his face as well. even though the endearment made his heart skip a beat, he doesn't want you to know.

however, you will not pass up this opportunity.

"only under one condition," you said, with a wicked grin you had been attempting to conceal. "you call me that again and i'll stop teasing—“

“no!”

it took every bit of him not to surrender to your quirks. nevertheless, he still took the bait. he understood very well he cannot win against you on this one. megumi took a deep breath before saying..

“babe…"

a smile tugging at the corner of your mouth. “say it again."

"you said you'll stop!" megumi frowns as your laughter bubbled the room.

“i didn't say when though."

Steve’s seen it before.

The barely concealed expression of horror, made right as a lady hears one of his cornball, goofy jokes and speeds through the five stages of grief as they realize they still want to fuck him. 

Even if he says shit so ridiculous a middle schooler couldn’t get away with it. 

(And Steve would know, because he’s watched Dustin try.)  

It’s a core part of his personality really. He was smooth about it when he cared about appearances, locked the corny shit away until they were alone and he could reveal just enough of his real self to seal the deal.  

Then he was all about making teddy bears talk and all other kinds of stupid shit. 

Nowadays he doesn't bother with putting on the cool guy front. 

Steve is who he is, and likes who he likes, and that perhaps, is why this particular look of horrified acceptance is so amusing.

Because it’s not on a girl's face.

It’s on Eddie’s. 

Which he expected, because Steve’s not as stupid as the kids think.

Just as Eddie isn’t the best at hiding his crushes like he thinks he is. 

The over-the-top showmanship and teasing, the jokes and theatrics might fool most of the Party, and had even Robin second guessing for a while, but none of them have done their time in the trenches.

Romance is, and has always been, Steve’s game.

“What did you say?” Eddie asks, laughter ringing through his voice, and with a cocky grin, Steve steps into his space and happily repeats himself. 

“I said--if no one’s done it yet, then let me be the first to thank you for wearing those pants.” For the second time, Steve sends his eyes downward, only to slowly pull them back up. “What are they made out of? Boyfriend material?” 

“oh my God.” Eddie says but he’s grinning, a finger pulling some hair across his face and Steve knows then and there that he’s won.

Good Listener, Part 3

My brother and I couldn’t be more different in our interests, and if we were strangers I doubt we would find anything we had in common. Even so, he and I talk quite often. No matter how much we might not understand the things the other likes, we care about each other enough to listen and learn.

I feel like Donnie and Mikey would be the same. Polar opposites, but that’s exactly why they get along so well.

Sometimes when I’m confused at how to comfort someone, I’ll ask if they need to vent or if they need advice. I can get really frustrated sometimes when I get unsolicited advice, so it helps me not make them feel any worse if they just need a shoulder to lean on. Sometimes that’s all you need :)

Anyways! My favorite kind of character relationship is one where they can just be comfortable vibing in the same room doing their own thing parallel the other while listening to them talk about it. Great basis for friendship. Very relatable lol
