filming a big thing this summer, met with the stunt team yesterday to learn about my fight sequences, now i'm cackling, i'm giggling, this is going to be the coolest shit ever, it's exactly the kind of acting gig I've wanted for years let's goooooooooo

i think a lot about how early-series, demigods are referred to pretty equally as "demigods," "half-bloods," and "godlings," - the last used particularly by gods at demigods - but after that "godlings" is almost exclusively used to refer to minor gods.

something something i am literally always chewing on the concept of the line between immortals/demigods/monsters/etc being thinner than it appears

#pjo #riordanverse #we should bring this back i want more ambiguity between demigods and immortals #and where they stand between mortals and immortals #ESPECIALLY with the TOA worldbuilding of ''oh yeah inverse of immortals fading - if enough people believe hard enough it becomes true''#and people canonically leveraging that to become immortal through that means #like WHAT that is FASCINATING WORLDBUILDING #and is potentially really cool for how the gods function #but also SO MUCH EXISTENTIAL HORROR POTENTIAL ON THE DEMIGOD END #jason and percy getting idolized so much they literally start to become warped by other people's perceptions of them...#jason being accidentally immortalized because almost everyone who knows him puts him on such a pedestal #AND INVERSE TOO. demigods who are so looked down upon they LITERALLY begin to be warped into monsters #tbh we just generally need more of modern demigods being turned into monsters #like how many myths are there of mortals and heroes being turned into monsters and animals #wheres that for demigods. its gotta happen sometimes. especially since we know other curses are frequent enough #also. how much we're told the greeks interact directly with the olympians (field trips to solstice meetings etc etc)#and how willing the gods seem to be to curse demigods/mortals #heck Mr D is constantly threatening to turn people into dolphins. he's gotta have made good on that at least once

But I drew this guy Once and that was it #I went ‘yeah that’s my boy. that works’#i mostly went with what i envisioned though i did check the first chapter again to see if it said anything contradicting my design #and it did say Aaron had short hair but you know what? I really want him to have a little ponytail #I think he deserves a little ponytail #so i kept the ponytail #i was originally going to draw him with his silly little coat and add a heck ton of details #but the pose didn’t work out #There’s always next time!#with his current clothes his sash i guess is the most important part?#in the first chapter it talks about Aaron’s knife had been clad in black&gold previously #I assume in reference to the Man #Though I might be wrong #i binge-read the book in like three days #the details have escaped me #but yeah I did the sash with those colors because I thought it’d be cool #anyways i believe that’s most of it #i also have a bunch of doodles i made for warmup before this #that i’m also going to share at some point #i hope you like it!

look i'm not saying that (1) the og idea in my merfolk au of sabine being an amazon and (2) the fact that i've been listening to the Wonder Woman soundtrack on the way home from work (as one does) combined in my head into a kind of crossover AU, but I am saying that in the climax of Wonder Woman (2017), Diana's closest companion who has been fighting by her side makes the choice to sacrifice himself while separated from his team in a ship in the sky taking out the most immediate threat to them all in the process and leaving behind a prized item of his with her while she is trapped on the ground and can do nothing but watch him disappear in a flash of light and yknow who else did that—

#idk guys I just think Sabine would look cool as heck in the Amazon armor #jessica's random thoughts #I have a sparse handful of half-baked and contradictory ideas for this AU #those ideas being:#Hera is an Amazon too. kind of antiope to sabine's diana. she was responsible for her training and is a mentor to her #meanwhile I think Kanan and Ezra are like. not normal humans. they've been around for a while kinda like the amazons #they were also meant to be guardians of humanity but when crap hit the fan on olympus they went into hiding #chopper is some kind of animal companion I think #and zeb is literally just some guy who got dragged into their mythological crusade of justice #the story is still set in WWI because I think kanan and ezra would look very handsome in the fashion of the day #kanan and ezra are living among humankind in disguise and fighting undercover to help them. kanan is a mentor to ezra.#they're searching for themyscira to find a legendary weapon capable of destroying... uh...#yeah so idk if I want it to be ares in this. I feel like it needs to be the sith y'know? because star wars.#also I want the sword to be named sithkiller so. yeah. the sith.#but also Greek mythology so....... idk.#(see I told you these ideas were contradictory)#anyway the two of them get attacked and they crash into themysciran waters where hera rescues them #or maybe hera and sabine rescue them together #because i have a funny mental image of hera and kanan having a Moment of Gazing Into Each Other's Eyes mid-rescue #(oh yeah! Kanan and Hera have history. i think mayhaps they were married before themyscira was isolated)#while in the background Sabine is dragging a flailing waterlogged teenage demigod to shore and swearing loudly #then stuff happens and Sabine and Hera (and chopper) depart with the boys to save the day (Zeb gets recruited shortly thereafter)#that's more or less where my ideas end #except that neither kanan nor Ezra dies or disappears in this AU because I do what I want and canon has never stopped me before #also I have like. 2.5 specific scenes in my head #(I haven't seen the movie in a hot minute which is why I don't have more)

Played Kaiju Paradise after awhile and I’m so happy with the new design. Sad slime pup/hound is gone though… they will be missed…

other than that, these are only three of the ones I’m drawing. I’m giving them all different names and new backstories from whatever they have in the game cuz uh. I wanna??? And I will change the designs a bit cuz. Cuz yeah! It’s fun.
