Favorite TSP ending? Going for the broom closet ending since I don’t know a whole lot about the game, and I personally just think it’s silly.

There’s  an  irony  in  it  now,  the  last  time  he’d  chosen  to  stay  it  had  meant  being  left  behind  and  giving  up  what  they’d  had.  The  two  of  them  had  had  it  all  planned  out  but  he’d  been  too  cowardly  to  follow  through  and  instead  he’d  bent  to  his  fathers  ever  demand  and  never  left  the  city.  That  was  years  ago  now,  but  not  a  day  had  passed  where  he  hadn’t  thought  about  that  day  and  all  the  time  they’d  spent  together.  He  felt  regret  mostly,  enough  regret  that  he  allowed  it  to  eat  away  at  him  to  the  point  of  not  being  able  to  really  broach  what  had  happened  in  the  past.

But  those  words  brought  it  all  flooding  back  again.  He’d  stayed  this  time  and  he’d  do  it  again  and  again.  It  had  been  years  since  he  and  Aithne  had  seen  one  another  yet  his  feelings  for  her  hadn’t  changed.  There  had  never  been  anyone  but  her,  not  to  him  nor  for  him.    “  It  is  about  time  I  did,  no?  ”    The  inclination  is  there  as  is  a  small  smile  that  rests  on  his  lips  as  he  moves  to  sit  a  little  closer  to  her.    “  What  are  you  doing,  Aithne?  I  know  you,  you  are  not  being  yourself.  ”    It’s  perhaps  the  kindest  way  he  can  admit  to  not  agreeing  with  the  way  she’s  treating  her  people.  Maybe  it’s  stress,  maybe  it’s  more  than  that,  but  he  knows  it’s  not  the  Aithne  he  knows.
