~part III~ of this little prompt series ( part I & part II icymi )
much gratitude to @missgryffin for one prompt & the same anon as the previous prompt for the other one!! <3 absolutely TICKLED to indulge my obsession with post-traumatic injury reunions <3
pajamas + purple + panic
doodle + indigo + relief
A soft knock on the bathroom door. “Evans? Everything all right? You’ve been—oi, I’m standing here, will you—what d’you mean leave her alone, she’s—oh, come off it, Lupin, I’m just trying to be a help, honestly—”
Lily presses her forehead to cool porcelain. Focuses on one breath in; one breath out. It doesn't work. Her stomach roils, and she sicks up. Hardly anything left—but it burns just the same.
There's scuffling outside the door, voices quick and low. Lily flushes the basin and rises to the sink, avoiding her own eyes in the mirror. Swishes around mouth rinse and spits it out. Washes her hands and turns the light off and takes a backward look at her reflection, hand on the doorknob.
Her face is stark and pale and scared, even in the dim.
The door swings open to Remus and Sirius mid-argument. They fall silent; turn to her, cautious.
“I’m fine,” she says, though she doesn’t meet their eyes, either. Pulls at the sleeves of her linen blouse, at the collar; sticky with nervous sweat. Remus takes out his wand and casts a cooling charm. She closes her eyes to it and nods. “Thank you.”
“Jesus, Evans,” Sirius murmurs, his hand on her arm. She wants to pull off, turn from the touch, tell them both to piss off —but the tightness in her throat intensifies, the pit in her stomach glomming like a rock. She loses footing, body asway; Sirius catches her elbow and pulls her forward, into the crook of his shoulder.
Lily takes a long, painful breath.
That morning she woke from fitful sleep to disorientation; pain; loneliness; panic. Remembering James, a room away, deep in spelled sleep. Remembering, disjointedly, the tossed-off owl from St. Mungo’s: ...three weeks lapsed...tri-monthly Contraceptive Charm...would you care to reschedule your appointment?
The bleary eyes, the dry throat, the: This can’t be right—
I never forget—
I never forget.
The problem with war is the blur. The carousel of unease, its unremitting haze; the constant, constant disruption. The this is not my time anymore. The my time belongs to war.
Lily feels sick again, suddenly, tucked in Sirius’ shoulder. It’s not the right time. This isn’t our time.
Remus puts a steady palm on her back, as if he can feel her tremble. Voice low, “there’s something else, isn’t there?”
She raises her head—and how clearly he seems to see her. His hair is overgrown; the color of sand wet with sea. All those narrow silver scars. She tries to say his name but nothing comes out, and besides that there’s another voice, round the corner of the hall:
“Lads? He’s awake—oh, shit, Lils, he's up, he's—”
“He’s awake?” Sirius interrupts, disbelieving.
Peter looks drained, nodding. “Awake.”
Remus urges Lily, palm on back—but it's Sirius she looks to, now. The skin beneath his eyes made into translucent half-moons. “We’ll be just on—you go.”
She pauses one more half a second, then goes. Feels a tremor overtaking. Rushing so quickly she nearly smacks into Mags, exiting. The door cracked an inch. “Be gentle, yeah? It’s fragile. But—a day or so of rest, he’s good as fine.”
“Maggie,” Lily breathes, tunneling the woman into her arms. Gripping like she doesn’t know how hard she holds. Entrenched in gratitude—for her, for him; maybe, for a third. “Thank you.”
“All in time, Evans,” Mags says gruffly, pulling back, bristling. “All in time.”
Lily steps in slowly, squinting at the brightness. Someone has opened the shades and the room is light with midday. In the center, in their bed, pillowed upright by cushions and sheets, blanketed in the purple quilt her mother made for them—James sitting up, open-eyed.
Lily inhales deeply and blinks to be sure that it’s right; that it’s real. Amid such a downy pile he looks younger. But his eyes are blaring gold, glasses un-cracked—and he’s breathing.
“Hi,” he says, quietly, sheepishly. Someone put him in pajamas. The green-and-white striped collared shirt buttoned unevenly, off by one looped hole.
At such a little thing, the pulp of Lily's heart gives a definitive jolt.
She stumbles. Slows; remembers Mags saying fragile. Looks down to his leg, bandaged and glowing the deep indigo of stasis charms. Her throat locks and she remembers the morning; her hapless nerves. Turns her head out of necessity, eyes landing on the bedside table, the little framed sketch of her own profile—doodled by James in the back of seventh-year Charms.
She turns back and finds him apprehensive, chewing at his lower lip, as if she’s the one that should be handled carefully. As if he didn’t fall to his knees and nearly leave her for good. “Hi,” she tries—and it really almost works, if it weren’t for the cracking, midway, for the way his arm falls down onto the bed, palm up, open, reaching, for the way he breathes out—
“Lils.”
She goes to him. Feels the palm, carefully, with her own—and skin so familiar, and finally warm, and dear, fingers latching onto hers, that she folds forward at the waist, unable to stop, face pressed wholly to the bend of his arm. Mouthing at the skin, desperate to prove he is solid; prove he is whole. “I’m sorry.”
“No, love, no,” he murmurs, and he’s threading a hand through her hair, urging her face upward, till she finds herself facing the uneven buttons—a detail still so tender that it breaks her over again. Reaching out to touch any reachable part; the other elbow, the good leg, the hollow space between collarbones.
“Come on,” he says, so earnestly.
“Don’t you—” she cuts her head to the side and suddenly exhaustion crashes over her; the night of poor sleep, the morning so blue with sickness and owl and abrupt, unwelcome truth. “Don’t you go and pull that shit ever again, Potter, you can’t just—” His hand stroking up through her hair, his hand cradling her jaw. “I won’t live without you.” And it’s irrational and true. His thumb across her lips. “You arsehole,” she adds, though she’s crying—though the sentiment is real—though her lungs are crying out for air.
“Rather selfish of me to nearly die, I realize," his mouth quirking minutely, a smirk so gentle and so Jameslike it pains. “And I apologize, I really do, from the bottom of my heart.”
“Honestly,” she laughs, cut through at once with pain and a flood of gentle levity, his eyes so bright and healthy; the sweet flopping of dark hair over forehead. “Honestly.”
His throat moves. There’s no time to tell him—not the right time—others wanting reunions, wanting confirmation he’s awake. But his face so open and honest. “We’ll be okay,” he says, always quick to ground, to hold steady; to carry her face in his hands. “I’m sorry.”
She shakes her head, words gone out. Kisses him on the cheek, on the other. “Stay with me,” she begs. Implores. “I love you, stay with me.”
His brow creased in a tender pull. Breath shallow and warm when their lips meet between, pulling her out of herself. Everything will wait. Relief is like a river; long, slow, and plenty.

5 Favorite First Viewings of July 2021
Quick note: Hi everyone, I'm back, things have honestly been getting better for me, and I'm glad to be on this site full of cinephiles, people that are too horny, and cinephiles that are too horny. I'll be more active on here. But anyway, let's talk about some movies.
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970) (dir. Russ Meyer)
Tumblr media
CW: Abortion mention
What a picture. What a gorgeous, sexy, horrifying slice of what Hollywood and star life can do to a bunch of bright-eyed young people looking for success. Also is a critique of how macho nature can ruin friendships and romantic relationships with total ease. I was obsessed with the scene transitions, like Pet pouring pancake mix onto a plate after the abortion scene, or Kelly singing after someone screams before their murder in the opening scene.
Great, campy flick with exceptional music too.
Deep Cover (1992) (dir. Bill Duke)
Tumblr media
Laurence Fishburne plays Russell Stevens, a Cincinnati police officer who hopes to do well by the community, to make a difference. He’s traumatized by the death of his substance-abusing father, and wants to make sure that he can help the people of his own town. He goes undercover on assignment as a drug dealer, where his boss orders him to take down the kingpin. Stevens realizes the police’s own failings while on assignment. The racist abuse he takes from Agent Carver, and the realization that the police department is protecting drug kingpins like Gallegos and Barbossa. Giving drugs to Black kids and Latinx kids so there will be less of them. The cops are no different than the drug kingpins looking to make filthy amounts of money.
Fishburne’s performance is excellent, as Stevens feels he has to maintain a stone face so he doesn’t get caught by Jason or Barbossa or any of his cronies, but also he maintains a stone face to try and hide his emotion, his trauma. But when he gets pissed, Fishburne acts it beautifully, as is when he has to deliver a funny quip to counter Jason’s douchebaggery. And the production design, holy fuck, the sets and the lighting.
A perfect neo-noir for the HW Bush years, arguably one of the most timeless commentaries on the era, as well as the police as a whole.
Fast Five (2011) (dir. Justin Lin)
Tumblr media
I was torn between including this or Furious 7, but I ultimately went with Fast Five because it felt like an important turning point in the series, it's a great heist film, and it reached the same chaotic highs and genuinely excellent filmmaking that I had been waiting for since 2 Fast and Tokyo Drift.
Fast Five opens where Fast & 4ious left off. Dom is hauled away to prison on a bus. Mia and Brian drive in their high-tech cars and knock the bus over, helping Dom escape. The title drops. Fast Five. It’s such an intense yet short action scene, and dropping the title immediately after it lets the viewer know that this movie is not fucking around. It’s arguably gonna be more intense and insane than the previous one.
And it is. The filmmakers made the decision to use a lot more practical stunt work for the film, and as a result, it leads to, so far, the best action in the entire series, since 2 Fast and Tokyo Drift. It’s not just how it’s shot or edited, it’s the geography of the locations, the rooftop chase echoes the rooftop chase of Jackie Chan’s masterwork Police Story, particularly the way each character bounces from top to top.
And of course, there’s the silliest moment in the movie, the one that matches the intensity and kineticism of a film like 2 Fast, which is driving the Reyes’ bank vault throughout the street, getting chased by corrupt cops.
I know we make fun of Vin Diesel for saying “family” all the time in these films, but there’s a reason we remember him saying all of these impassioned monologues. Because he’s unbelievably sincere, and has so much love in his heart for every single person in the room. Anytime he delivers a speech to any of them, it’s genuinely heartwarming.
This is the film that finally shows La Familia in their best environment, which is working together, in a movie genre that allows them to work together, which is a heist film. And a great one at that.
Last Days (2005) (dir. Gus Van Sant)
Tumblr media
CW: Mention of suicide
Several films have been made about legendary rock artist Kurt Cobain, and for good reason. He is one of the most tragic figures in rock and roll. A tortured genius who has written and performed classic song after classic song with his band Nirvana. He was called the voice of a generation, and helped change the face of mainstream alternative rock music as we know it. But with that fame, and all of those expectations came a worsening depression and further drug abuse, and his eventual death. But most of the films about Kurt Cobain ask one question which gets under my skin way too much:
“Who REEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY killed Kurt Cobain?”
It was him. He did. And it’s okay, I’m sad too. Thinking that Kurt Cobain was murdered is completely ignoring the depression that he faced. And despite Last Days being more inspired by the death of Cobain rather than actually about it, it feels much more honest than the conspiracy documentaries on his death, wanting to leech off of his dead body.
This is the last installment of Gus Van Sant’s “Death Trilogy”, the previous two installments being Gerry (2001), and Elephant (2003). While I have not seen Gerry, I have seen Elephant though, and love that film for its minimalist, raw nature, and its boldness for not romanticizing the school shooter or the lives they had taken. Last Days falls into that trap once, as I don’t agree with the shot of Blake’s soul climbing up a ladder, that always struck me as cheesy in a film that is anything but.
Last Days is similar to Elephant in terms of the way it is filmed. Its usage of long takes, and still shots of characters doing various things, such as Blake playing his guitar behind a drum set. The way these moments are shot is similar to a Chantal Akerman film, particularly Jeanne Dielman. Where the acts of the mundane are the stars of the film. Blake wanders around an empty house, and the viewer can feel the pain, not just through Michael Pitt’s acting, but from the house itself. Its decay, its paint peeling from the walls, from the soft glow of the lamp that lights his face.
I say this is the most honest film about Kurt Cobain, because, despite the characters technically being fictional (the main character who looks, walks, and acts like Cobain is named Blake), this film focuses on the mental state of a person before they eventually take their own life. They’re still working, still making music, still trying to talk to friends and bandmates, but the depression lingers on. Not once does this film try to make you believe that someone else killed him, because you can see the signs of his own suicide taking place just through the film’s excellent cinematography by Harris Savides, showing his mental state only growing worse through the production design.
And it’s empathetic with him. There’s no judgement for leaving rehab, there’s no finger-wagging at him or the people he was with, there’s just a silent prayer at the end of the film, hoping that he is in a better place than he was.
Sometimes you don’t need to show every event that led you to where you are, all you can show is the moment, which also makes this better than most biopics as well, as it never feels messy or muddled, just showing one moment of Blake/Kurt’s life.
I really loved this film, and I’ll be writing about it in full soon.
The Village (2004) (dir. M. Night Shyamalan)
Tumblr media
The Cracked.com/Channel Awesome audience stuck in 2012 will tell you that this was the beginning of the end for Shyamalan. That this was when people stopped taking him seriously, that this was when he became more of a punchline because of his twist endings.
But why?
The Village was released in 2004, deep in the Bush administration, during the early stages of the Iraq War. The leaders of the time were talking about imaginary boogeymen, terrorists that would attack the civilians if they could. Because of 9/11, politicians could get away with these false ideas with the majority of Americans fully believing them. The boogeymen in The Village are “The People We Don’t Speak Of”, monsters attracted by the color red. Yet we find out that they are all costumes made by the Elders of the land, designed to prevent people from going outside the land. They rule by fear disguised as love. They’ve gone through their own traumas through the deaths of their family members, but they’ve decided to completely abandon the lives that they’ve had and have their children living lies.
9/11 impacted American life by teaching citizens to live primarily by fear, to not trust anyone but their own people. And yet, post-9/11, all that increased was not “coming together”, but hate crimes against South Asian people. The rage white Americans had felt led to conservative politicians pushing fear-mongering agendas, and said white Americans blindly accepted. The outside world was progressing, but too many people were fine with living with further conservative politics only regressing American life further and further back, all for the illusion of safety. Meanwhile, the only threats to them were not the brown citizens outside of America they were so afraid of, but the white elders, the white politicians.
The Village explores these fears so eloquently, all while having a terrifying atmosphere, an enchanting score, and brilliant sound design. I enjoyed this movie very much.

Tea and Chocolate (Part V)
Remus Lupin x American Reader
Summary: Y/N and Remus celebrate his birthday even though the night before was the full moon
Warnings: food, mentions of blood, anxiety
This is it, guys, 😭. This is the last part to this series. So sorry for the updates being so spread apart, but I really appreciate you sticking with it and all the support! Thank you! This last part is dedicated to @poppin-potter. Thank you for supporting me from the very beginning of the blog and helping with this series 💕💕 picture made by the lovely @angelinathebook
These reminded me of their relationship. They’re incredibly sweet and cause extreme yearning. 😃
Tumblr media
You sat on your bed searching Molly’s recipe books for the perfect dinner. Remus’s birthday is tomorrow; however, tonight is also the full moon. Your plans needed a raincheck, but that didn’t stop you from trying to make today special. A box filled with comfort items such as a blanket, two bottles of water, food, and a fresh change of clothes waited near the door.
Not much of a birthday gift, but it’ll do for now,” you commented to your plant Richard. You stood up and placed a bookmark in between the annotated pages. Wiping the sweat forming on your palms away, you grabbed the box and carefully made your way up the stairs.
You didn’t know why you were so nervous. Remus would appreciate you looking after him. But then again you felt like you were overstepping. Maybe you were treating him like a baby, and he couldn’t tell you you because he knew you felt helpless. Your constant want for control caused your anxiety to throw you into a constant state of worry.
“If he knew I bit my nails and obsessively watched out the window on nights like these, would he not want me anymore? Does my anxiety make me unlovable? No, Y/N. Shut up. Of course not. But he wouldn’t want a partner that worried about him like I do, would he? You don’t even know if he even wants a romantic relationship. Ughhhhh shut up!” you spiraled walking slowly toward his door.
You sat the box down and took a deep breath. Turning back toward your room, you snapped your fingers, a weird thing you did when you’re anxious.
“Y/N.”
Your head whipped around toward the tall figure leaning against the door frame. You stared at Remus not knowing what to say.
“Come here,” he moved the box over with his foot and smiled softly. You took the hand he held out, not quite looking looking at his face.
“Your hands are freezing!” he spoke in a low voice and brought your hand to his lips. He stopped before they met; your eyes flicked to his.
“Is this alright?” Remus asked for permission. Your ears felt hot as you smiled and whispered a “yes.”
He pressed his lips against the back of your hand while maintaining eye contact.
“Oh wow...” you thought.
“Thank you for the gift. May I ask what’s inside?” he inquired.
You stepped into his cozy room to let him close the door.
“Just some things to help with tonight.”
He opened his mouth and shut it promptly. You brow furrowed hoping you weren’t correct about his feelings.
“Sorry. It’s been a couple years since someone’s cared for me like this. Please don’t feel like you have to; I don’t want you to put yourself out trying to make me comfortable.”
“Noo, Rem,” you rushed toward him and wished you were tall enough to cup his face, “I look after you because I care about you!” You we’re trying your best not to say “love.”
“Helping you with your transformation will never ‘put myself out.’ I will do everything in my power to make everything betterfor you. You deserve someone that wants to care for you. You deserve an easier life. You deserve someone who loves you and will always have your back!”
As soon as that escaped your mouth, your eyes locked. “Oh shit.” Fear ran through your body, and you covered your mouth. You didn’t wait to hear Remus’s response and walked out the room as fast as you could.
You paced around your room while the scene played over and over in your mind.
“Oh no. It was definitely too soon to say “love.” What was I thinking?? Oh. I wasn’t!”
Someone knocked on your door and opened it right away. Remus strode toward you. He put his large hand behind your head to tilt your face to his. With your hearts racing, he kissed you with an open mouth. Your arms found themselves around his neck as he kissed you again and again.
You pulled away breathing hard.
“I love you, too,” he breathed. “Sirius will be here soon, so I should get ready. Sorry for barging in; I kind of got caught in the moment. Not that telling you I love you was just “being in the moment.” If that makes sense... I do love you. Really. Truly. I only didn’t know when to tell you. Um. I’ll see you later?”
“Yeah. I’ll have a bath and everything ready,” you responded still processing what happened.
“Thank you.”
~~~~
The sound of rushing water and the smell of tea calmed your nerves. Remus should be on his way. Just in time the sandy-haired man walked unsteadily in you room; his muscles were in fire with every movement he made. You sprang into action and guided him him into the bathroom. You scanned his shaking body for cuts as you peeled away the sweaty clothing. With no serious injuries, he slowly sank into the hot water with a sigh. You kissed his forehead even though his forehead gleamed with sweat.
“Are you bleeding anywhere?”
“No,” his rough voice answered.
“Alright. I’ll leave you alone then.”
His wet hand grabbed your wrist. “Can you stay? I don’t want to be alone...and I don’t think I can reach my hair.”
“Of course, Rem.”
You kneeled next to the tub and lathered his hair with soap. Remus shut his eyes contently when you massaged his scalp, enjoying the intimate moment together. The comfortable silence took place of the conversation as neither of you knew what to say. Lupin’s stomach took advantage of this to express his hunger. Giggling, you rinsed his hair while he rushed to clean the rest of his body. You stood up, so he could use your shoulders to steady himself.
“I’m going to pour the tea and plate your dinner from tonight. Are you okay if I leave and come back?”
“Yeah I’ll get dressed. I’m sure you don’t want a naked man in your room. Unless...” a mischievous smile followed his joke.
“Not unless I’m naked, too,” you winked and left the bathroom with your face burning.
~~~~
Remus finished his meal watching the sunrise while you you dozed peacefully. He noticed how the golden light kissed your complexion, making your skin glow. Smiling to himself, he placed his plate in the desk and got under the blankets as quietly as he could to avoid waking you.
“Happy birthday!” you whispered after kissing his forehead. The plates on the tray clinked together.
“Mmm hello,” Remus croaked, his voice rough from sleep, “what time is it?”
“2 p.m.”
“Hm. Excuse me if this sounds rude, but is that for me?” he nodded toward the tray full of sweet and savory pastries and the two bottles of butterbeer.
“Yes it’s for you! I tried to find fillings that you like.” You beamed and put the tray in his lap.
He let out a hearty laugh. “Aww, Y/N, thank you! You must have spent all morning working on these.”
“Maybe, but it was definitely worth it.”
“Here,” he popped open a bottle of butterbeer and passed it to you, “I don’t want to celebrate by myself.”
“Thank you. Are you feeling better?”
“Just a headache... well a body ache too.”
A giggle escaped your lips which caused your boyfriend to tilt his head. “Oh. So you think my pain is funny?”
“Of course not, dear.”
You grabbed the pain reliever from your full moon bag. “Oh! That reminds me! I have three more presents.”
You ran to your desk and grabbed a brand new leather-bound journal and a package of Reese’s Cups.
“You spoil me, Y/N.”
“I know.”
Remus chuckled. “Oh my. The peanut butter chocolates!”
“Ugh. You sound like an old man.”
“Y/N! Not this again!”
You sat in the edge of the bed and laughed. The both of you completely content.
“Alright. What’s the last present?”
“Close your eyes.”
“Do I trust you? I don’t even see anything in your hands.”
“Just do it!”
He closed one eye and half closed the other which you rolled your eyes at. You hurried up, grabbed his face, and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
~~~~
You pulled away. The great hall started to fill with children. It had been two years since the pandemic, and things finally felt like they were going the way they were supposed to.
Remus played with the sapphire ring on your finger while the students got settled. Oh. You’re also engaged to the best DADA professor in the world.
Ok fuck im gonna infodump about lupin cause my brain is going buck wild and i wanna explain everything about it for no reason other than to explain it.
This is all spoiler free under the cut as well dont worry
Lupin the iii was created by monkey punch back in the 60’s and was originally a manga and it has become almost timeless, being the last piece of media coming out for it so far was back in 2019. There is five parts of the anime which started in 1971 and the last series came out in 2019. There is one spin off and its called ‘the women called fujiko mine’ and its really dark i havent watched it yet but the art style is cool. Theres also a bunch of movies starting with the mystery of mamo and ending with lupin the third the first.
Lupin the III is based off the adventures of Lupin, Jigen, Goemon, and Fujiko as they travel the world to steal whatever catches their eyes. Whether it be a jewl or famous painting, Lupin and his gang of thieves have probably attempted to lift it for their own thrill much to the dismay of Inspector Zenigata, the ICPO sent after them.
If you haven’t watched it yet, there’s no true place to start because there is no true chronological order but it is recommended you start at castle of cagliostro and move on. Part 4 and 5 are way more story based and should be watched together but if you hop ahead its ok. The dub for episodes 1-79 in oart 2 and the dub for part 4 is magnificent and i recommend fully but if dub isn’t your thing theres a bunch of subs as well.
Now with that bg info, lets get to the characters!!!
Arséne Lupin the III
Tumblr media
Arséne Lupin the III aka Lupin is the grandson of the phantom theif aka Arséne Lupin. He is half french and half japanese and a grandmaster thief.
His personality changes series to series. Part 1 hes way more of a cheeky lil bastard, part 2 hes a goofball but he still has that charm and wit, i cant speak on part 3 as i havent watched it, and part 4 and 5 hes pretty similar to part 2. (The series parts are also called green jacket, red jacket, pink jacket, blue jacket part 1, and blue jacket part 2 based on what Lupin wears.)
His weakness is women (such as fujiko mine who oftens gets him into trouble) but he usually succeeds in his heists.
Fujiko Mine
Tumblr media
Fujiko Mine aka Fujiko actually isn’t part of the Lupin gang as you might think. She kinda just follows them around and helps sometimes and back stabs them other times.
She uses Lupin’s feelings towards her to her advantage to really manipulate him at any chance she gets but she is a good character/female roll I will give her that.
Personality wise, she is actually really smart and uses her looks/intelligence anytime she can use it, usually to get what she wants though :/
She is only really trusted by Lupin, Jigen and Goemon don’t trust her so much.
Daisuke Jigen
Tumblr media
Daisuke Jigen aka Jigen is the most trusted man on Lupin’s team.
He is a 0.3 second sharpshooter, and his magnum is his main weapon but he has been shown to use snipers at times when necessary.
He is your run of the mill sarcastic dirtbag/loyal sidekick but he isn’t exactly a sidekick. He is a valued member of Lupin’s team and is needed pretty often.
He is originally from brooklyn and is half italian and half Japanese.
He doesn’t trust most women due to Fujiko going back on them for her own gain.
Goemon Ishikawa XIII
Tumblr media
Goemon Ishikawa aka Goemon is a decendent of the Ishikawa clan and a master of the quick draw sword technique. His main weapon is his zantetsuken.
Goemon actually originally wanted to kill Lupin, but eventually he joined Lupin’s team of theives but it seems he still has regrets about not killing Lupin sometimes.
Personality wise, he is very old fashioned/disciplined and also the voicd of reason in many situations. He, in later series, is not used to technology and even earlier in the series he is really hesitant to try anything westernized such as food for example.
Not much is known about him other than he has horrible luck with women and what is stated above but he is a very trusted and valued member of Lupin’s team and as it seems he might be the strongest out of all of them.
He also has a spin off called “Goemon Ishikawa’s spray of blood”.
Koichi “Inspector” Zenigata
Tumblr media
Koichi Zenigata, aka inspector zenigata and “pops” by Lupin’s team is the Interpol police officer who has made it his lifes work to catch Lupin and arrest him.
Though his main goal is to capture and arrest Lupin, there are multiple occasions where they form pacts and it is revealed that they do care about each other in a weird symbiotic way even if it’s always a game kf cat and mouse with them.
Personality wise he is a little crazy but he does have his charm. At the end of the day he’s still a human person. Personally i kinda enjoy how they took someone who’s supposed to be good into the “villain” for lack of a better term due to the perspectives the show is told from.
Again, not much is known about Zenigata other than he is obsessed with capturing Lupin no matter what it takes. He is an extremely good foil to Lupin as well.
That’s really it!! I don’t want to spoil the series for anyone who sees this and wants to get into it but I hope that’s a little information for you if you know nothing about it :D!
Custom Toonami Block Week 72 Rundown
Code Geass: Lelouch continues his plan to kidnap a little Chinese girl and Todoh gets to show off his new Zangetsu so the Black Knights enjoy having two Knightmares worth a damn for once, though as if on cue Kallen gets caught in the most bullshit way possible bringing them back down to one Ace. Xingke has home field advantage and a new Knightmare with spinny dealies and turns Zero’s bullshit tactics of fighting in the one place that basically wipes out the enemy for him against him. However the gods of the Code Geass world themselves said “You know Xingke’s way too OP, better Kimimaro him and make it so he’s terminally ill so he can’t do too much” so now the Black Knights are literally backed into a cave and instead of letting Xingke just finish the job the Chinese government swoops in with Britannian reinforcements to try and claim victory and seize power all at once. Also Lelouch is somehow back at school despite being in China and I don’t remember this part at all but I guess it answers my question from last time. I think it has something to do with Sayoko and  realistic Lupin III style mask or something.
Inuyasha: The Panther Demon filler continues as Inuyasha’s Group, Koga and his two goons and Sesshomaru/Jaken make their way into Panther Demon territory after Inuyasha breaks their barrier. Koga meets up with Royokhan and gets the low down on the Panther Demon backstory with Taiga killing their leader hundreds of years ago and then Sesshomaru beating them 50 years ago but losing a lot of men in the process. It’s kind of a neat turn seeing Jaken go try to get Inuyasha and Sesshomaru’s like “fine I guess we’ll let him help” and then getting mad when he finds out he can’t even come because he’s nailed to a tree. Like it’s a weird bit of complexity for Sesshomaru to feel betrayed by not getting help he never really wanted and now being determined to fight off the Panthers alone. Anyway all the groups square off against the Panther mini-bosses, Lightning Panther beats Miroku and Sango and gets them captured with Kagome, Wind Panther fights Koga to a draw, Ice Panther continues her beef with Sesshomaru and Fire Panther keeps teasing Inuyasha. It’s kinda nice that they give every group someone to fight and something to do but I kinda wish these fights lasted longer and Fire/Ice panther were scaled up a bit to match Inuyasha and Sesshomaru’s power because they’re firing huge sword beams at this point and it just doesn’t seem like they’d have this much trouble with them. Also Jaken and Inuyasha meet and both of them are like ‘hey you seen my group?’ which I just thought was funny.
Yu Yu Hakusho: A new arc begins and honestly this is the Yu Yu Hakusho arc I remember the least because I think I missed an episode or two in the middle of it since YYH came on right around when I got home from school back in the day. But yeah, Kuwabara suddenly decides he doesn’t wanna do demon shit anymore and Yusuke’s like “fine it wasn’t your job anyway you made me let you come last time” and then Kuwabara immediately backpedals on it because there’s a hot girl he wants to save. Also they still need to give Keiko a lame backstory about Yusuke interning with a detective that doesn’t explain all the zombies after her but Kuwabara’s sister being like “Damn who’s the spirit baby, here’s $50 for the bus” is fine apparently. Anyway we get the Toguro brothers’ introduction and it’s neat to see them effortlessly make Yukina cry to make jewels and then have Younger Toguro give her some advice about making herself cry on cue so she doesn’t have to suffer every time which is some weird tough love take it or leave it advice that says a lot about his character right away. Also Yusuke and Kuwabara fight a giant plant demon who’s all like “Yeah I’m a demon but I got bills to pay bitch” and like what bills does a demon have and why can’t they just steal from the rich human but it doesn’t matter because Yusuke and Kuwabara just blow him away.
Fate Zero: So the church is like ‘yo free Command Seal to whoever fucks up Caster’ which is strange because yeah Caster’s killing children and shit but UBW Caster killed a bunch of peeps too and no one blinked an eye and Kiritsugu blew up a fucking building and no one cares so I have no idea where the line is here. Also Iskandar gets a shirt from amazon and it’s hilarious but he forgot to order pants and Waver tells him he’s not allowed to wear pants until he murders a historical figure and Iskander’s like “you know what that’s fair” so he’s just gonna be freeballing it for a while I guess. Strategy meeting with Kiritsugu, Iris and Saber happens and Saber seems more than a little pissy that Kiritsugu doesn’t address her directly and is basically treating her like a Pokemon. They talk about the four spots the grail can appear at and since we’ve already seen UBW we know it’s gonna be in the huge residential place so it can murder everyone and also Shirou. Also Caster shows up for Tentacle Hentai time with Saber along with more child murder but Lancer’s like “Hey I am the Vegeta of this story and no one kills Saberot but me” while Kiritsugu does his Homura Akemi thing to fight off Kayneth’s T-1000 Black Clover Nozel Silva Mercury Magic which is just amazingly amusing to me that Kiritsugu’s fighting style is to just shoot all these demi-god mages in the face and end his battles in the most anticlimactic way possible.
Konosuba: So Kazuma’s dead again. Shoulda really occurred to him sooner that dying again would get him reincarned again but nah, Samurai Santa has to come off him so he can meet Eris but he actually seems to miss his friends a bit. Like he doesn’t ask to go back specifically we’re not being that cheesy here but considering Kazuma’s two purposes in this story are to complain and explain the joke it is nice that he has some lingering feelings for his party. Then Aqua’s all “Hey fucker get back here, you’re not getting rid of me that easily” and despite Eris saying they can’t just revive him because he doesn’t belong there Aqua just does it anyway, really gives the vibe of an older coworker being like “you’re not supposed to do it this way but this is the way I do it” kind of deal. But yeah Kazuma has a crush on Eris now and despite these guys saying how much they hate being in a group together they sure seem to turn down every out they have to get away from each other, idk I get the joke and jadedness but a little more sincerity would be nice.
Sailor Moon Crystal: Usagi wakes up at Mamoru’s place and he gives her his backstory about how he became Amnesiac Batman in Evening Wear. Luna knows Sailor V but for some reason is really cagey about divulging that to the rest of the group even though literally everyone has been assembled now. There’s a dated plot about Blockbuster taking over people’s minds that Usagi literally handwaves away when Zoisite comes out and punches her and defeats the whole team with one dark energy wave. Tuxedo Mask comes in and punches him in the face and then remembers he doesn’t have any powers and gets owned. The two have a sweet but ultimately cringy reunion before Sailor V saves their worthless asses.
Durarara!!:  With Mikado’s status as Founder of the Dollars revealed, Seiji goes on a stabbing rampage again and luckily keeps stabbing the only people that don’t actually get hurt by it, this time being Celty. Celty’s about to go grim reaper on Seiji’s worthless ass before Mika Harima runs in and tells everyone she isn’t really Celty’s head, weirdly enough Mikado recognizes this right before she says anything somehow, like makes sense Celty realizes it’s not her head but Mikado has no frame of reference aside from knowing she was wearing Mika’s clothes which in her cover story would be explained by Celty’s head leeching off Mika’s dead body. But yeah despite Seiji spending 18 hours a day staring at Mika he apparently couldn’t tell either which really throws a wrench in his “power of love justifies indiscriminate murder” philosophy which amuses both Izaya and me. Mikado breaks down the craziness that’s just transpired what with the stalking, murder, incest, identity theft, actual theft, and stabbing and tries to put a positive spin on it in that Seiji and Mika are both fucking crazy and deserve each other but it’s a hard sell my dude. Izaya tells Mikado that he’s going to be an excitement junkie like him soon if he keeps ramping up life in this crazy city and Celty just kinda forgives Shinra for knowing where her head is without telling her and also plastic surgerizing a yandere girl to look like her and give her her name which seems a little weird for them to just punch each other and call it a wash when Shinra was arguably as yandere as Mika here and they still get unofficially married. Seiji tells Mika he doesn’t love her but because of all the shit she went through to literally mold herself into the object of his obsession he guess she can hang around until he gets the headless sex toy of his dreams so… happy ending I guess. Everyone in this town is fucking crazy and they forgive each other way too easily but for a show that swings back and forth between how fucked up people are and saying humanity is fundamentally pretty decent I guess that’s kind of the point.
Changeling: The League (2/3)
Being the next installment of my deeply nerdy spur-of-the-moment decision to do up a bunch of My Hero Academia villains as Changeling: The Lost characters.  For some introductory info and the League of Villains, check this post.  Or hit the jump for the Meta Liberation Army!
THE METAHUMAN LIBERATION ARMY
Considerably reduced from what they are in canon (I don’t think there are 116,000 changelings in Japan, much less that many changeling dissidents!), the leaders of the MLA are instead a band of secret loyalists for the Keeper called Destro, who have spent a great many years preparing for a chance to bring him to the real world in full glory, unhindered by time limits or reduced powers.  The requirements are many and arcane, with a huge number of ways things could fall to disarray.  Thus they find to their great alarm that their prophecies are suddenly skewing when the truth of Shigaraki’s durance/Keeper comes out--there are two “heirs,” it seems, and fate is swirling, and it will only settle over one of them in the end.
The group has its fingers in some of the more obscure fluff-book magic--fate-crafting, oracular dreams and the like--and collectively share a massively decked-out Hollow.
Re-Destro
Quote: “Everyone has a purpose to serve.”
Type: Gargantuan Ogre/Treasured Fairest dual kith.  The incarnation of Destro’s will.  Born in Faerie, he spent his early years being instructed (and molded) always--stand up straight, speak more clearly, be stronger, be better, you are the one who will herald me.  Re-Destro was delivered out of the Hedge at seven years old clutching a squall knife as long as his arm, his mind filled with the knowledge that he was the one who would see Destro ushered into the real world.  He was welcomed, open-armed, by those changelings who had been sent before.  He has spent over thirty years in the real world since then, scrupulously maintaining a startlingly high Clarity, but Destro whispers in his dreams more nights than not, and Rikiya (as he was named, though he has a true name his mother whispered against his head as an infant, now long forgotten) has always had the nagging feeling that the mundane Earth is not his true home.
A tall, stiff-shouldered man in his Mask, Rikiya looks much as he does in canon, though without the stress spots on his forehead and with a nose that’s merely prominent, rather than a cartoonishly huge beak.  He’s quite tall and can go from mildly unassuming to toweringly imposing on a dime.  In mien, his hair goes more coppery and his skin becomes unblemished marble, the palest shade of jade in color, tinging ever so slightly darker around his joints.  His nose returns to its canonically proper glory, and the places where his hairline recedes in his mask are revealed to be making room for a pair of broad, curving horns, emerald green at the tips.  He’s unusually clean-hewn for an Ogre, not handsome, per se, but undeniably striking.  When he uses his kith blessing, he grows to profound sizes (shredding even the most cleverly crafted Hedgespun), easily as tall as a two storey building.  Naturally, he tries not to do that kind of thing around mortal witnesses.
Rikiya’s Wyrd is getting quite high (it was high even as a child, as might reasonably be predicted), so particularly sensitive or addled humans will sometimes see or experience fragments of his true form--his unyielding skin, a brief glimpse of the shadow of his horns, the echoing weight of his footsteps on stone floors.  His potent Wyrd and his affinity with the home of the Gentry means that his magic sometimes leaks into objects he keeps on his person for too long--it’s an issue he’s aware of, and practically speaking, it mostly means that he never wears anything more than a day in a row.  He has a staggering variety of suits and ties.
Court/Mantle: Courtless.  With high-ranking friends in a sprawling freehold overseen by Directional Courts, Rikiya makes rounds in all of them.  He’s a deft hand with Hedgespun and his works are in high demand at even the most discerning changeling markets.  His home is in the center--close to the epicenter, in fact.
Contracts: Barbarically focused, though he uses both of his contracts sparingly.  His experience has gone more into his, shall we say, inherent magic.
        Vainglory I-V.  Even when playing the role of a popular but unranked freehold member, or a canny designer of mundane accessories, Re-Destro has never forgotten who and what he is, and when he’s using these Contracts, that comes out with psyche-bruising force.  His higher-tier invocations tend to cause his colors to mottle somewhat, infusing to darker shades of green around his face--the hollows of his eyes particularly--and extremities.
        Stone I-V.  Unbelievably strong whenever he needs to be.  He tries to avoid combat or let his underlings handle it when he can--he has very few problems maintaining his Clarity, but causing harm to others is a surefire way to disturb it--but when he does break these out, he’s as difficult to put down as a berserker.  Tends to take relaxing vacations after any occasion where he’s had to really work this.
Curious
Quote: ”You’ve got the look of someone with a story to tell.  I want to hear all about it.”
Type: Cleareyes Beast.  Once upon a time, she was a journalist with a nose for a story--well, she’s a journalist still, with a nose like you wouldn’t believe.  Talented and quick-witted, both traits won her attention from Destro’s “recruiters,” but it was her tenaciousness that finally saw her brought in from the snow and the hunts, a semblance of a human form returned to her, and the bright ambrosia of purpose poured down her throat.  Delivered to Re-Destro when he was in his 20s, Chitose is a hunter and a dream-spinner, a trickster with a deft and ruthless touch for talecrafting.  She remembers the headiness of blood on her tongue, and she can always smell a bleeding heart.
A fox changeling, though given her bent of viciousness and her unusual coloring, you could be forgiven for thinking her a kumiho or a particularly wicked kitsune.  In mien, she has long, thick white hair and a pair of white tails (three in the dreamscape), tipped in black like stained ink brushes, that match her long, tufted ears.  Her whole body’s covered in a fine layer of silken fur; she’s got a lupine lengthiness to her features and sharp teeth in her smile.  In her mask, her hair’s rich and dark and she seems to have a perpetual healthy glow to her skin, tipping into a noticeably high, intemperate flush when her passions are aroused.  A beauty in either form, she has thin, seemingly delicate wrists and ankles, but moves with a quick, decisive grace.  Her eyes are blue with just a hint of the green they used to be, the color standing out sharply from the ring of her black eyelashes.
Court/Mantle: The South, seat of ecstasy.  Chitose remembers the purity of her emotions in Faerie, remembers heights of euphoria and shocks of terror that stole her breath away, but out in the real world, she feels muted and muffled, never quite fulfilled, as if she’s always groping for an outstretched hand that’s just out of reach.  The Court of Song gets her closest to that reckless, all-pervading sensation, and so she throws herself headlong into its giddy pursuit of obsession.  Her mantle wraps her in a sensual warmth and, when she’s particularly worked up, wisps of thin white smoke scented like heady incense or burning sugar.  Every so often, when her eyes catch the light in a dark room, they reflect red instead of green.
Contracts:
        Den I-III.  She considers herself to have every right to be wherever she finds herself and is not about to let a home security system stop her when she’s chasing any sort of rabbit.
        Dream I-IV.  Whether she’s digging for a story or pushing a narrative, dreams are fruitful ground with a multiplicity of uses, none of which she’s squeamish about implementing.  Curious is a terror, asleep or awake.
        Omen I-III.  While she’s not much interested in fortune-telling as a method for long-term strategic planning (you want Skeptic for that), she does absolutely have a use for powers that give her visions of someone’s worst memory or upcoming major life events.
Skeptic
Quote: “Do you have any idea what kind of shitstorm we have coming down on us?  What?  You can’t see the future?  I guess that means you should shut the hell up and stop distracting those of us who have something useful to contribute then, doesn’t it?!”
Type: Oracle Wizened.  Destro knew that his followers would need someone who could properly interpret signs and portents, so set his recruiters to finding someone with an eye for secret signs, a knack for the languages of symbolism and metaphor.  Most of them brought back psychics or sensitive children, but one particularly old recruiter, for whom “computers” were a new and strange novelty, brought back Tomoyasu.  An electronics whiz-kid from a young age, Tomoyasu was in high school at the time, but already doing college prep.  He was driven and competitive but, crucially, willing to explain things to people who didn’t understand them.  In Faerie, his eyes were opened (forcibly, sometimes with clamps) to a great many more languages and codes, and his competitive personality honed to a vicious edge because you did not want to be a failure, not at any cost.
Now that he’s been sent back to the real world, Skeptic has a presence in many realms.  He’s still quite good with computers, of course, but there’s the much more important work of Destro that needs to be done, and that involves both tasks for now and plans laid for later.  As such, he maintains dream pledges with a number of psychics (mostly fresh ones, though there are a few shattered survivors from amongst his rivals for his current position).  Unlike Curious, he isn’t interested in digging in their dreams or using them as staging grounds for larger projects; he only needs them to help him fill in his understanding of the future.  He and Re-Destro do a great measure of the work in maintaining the group Hollow.
Rail-thin and gangly, Skeptic stalks about his environment with a constant sense of bloody-minded productivity.  He’s rarely without a laptop or tablet tucked in one arm and wears exclusively black, which just adds to the impression of being The World’s Gothiest Scarecrow.  His eyes are always hidden, behind his long bangs, razor-thin sunglasses, or--on more formal Court occasions--a broad silk blindfold, but glimpses of them are always alarmingly bloodshot.  In mien, his hands and arms are dotted with tattoos and scarification, faerie glyphs and sigils, and his eyes are filmed with blood.  He may not actually have eyelids--certainly no one has ever seen him blink.  Usually has a sword or the emblem of one on his person somewhere--a custom of his Court, because the heavens know he’s no swordfighter.
Court/Mantle: The West, seat of honor.  Very much a means to an end.  Skeptic has little interest in martialtry, but the needs of Destro demand that someone do it, and his obsessive perfectionism and rigidly high standards for himself make him the best fit--and anyway, the Court of War does need strategists.  He’s learned how to handle weapons in a perfunctory sort of way, but he’s a much better shot with a rifle than one would expect from the state of his eyes, especially if he’s got some time to spend fidgeting with one for a little bit before he has to fire it.  His mantle is relatively low, compared to most of his motley-mates, and manifests as a penetrating chill to the air and a slightly sharper tang of blood-smell than just his red-rimmed eyes can explain.
Contracts:
        Animation I-V.  You don’t have to waste time learning how to operate anything if the object itself will tell you how to use it, and you don’t have to stand around waving a sword at people when you can have the sword wield itself.  “Inanimate” nothing; as a rule, he likes objects better than people.
        Artifice I.  Object touchy because it’s busted?  Nothing a bit of magic can’t fix (at least for long enough to get the job done.
        Hours I-IV.  The result of Skeptic’s understanding of objects crashing together with his oracular abilities.  The time magic he can work on inanimate objects is very useful (and yes, the way Shigaraki warps the first clause of this drives him absolutely mad), but the real miracle is what the ability to control time dilation in the Hedge does for his and his motley’s productivity.
Trumpet
Quote:  “I’m sure we’ll succeed.  After all, we’re the ones he chose.”
Type: Fairest Muse.  The only member of the MLA motley proper that has any ambivalent feelings about The Destro Revival Festival.  He’s about Re-Destro’s age, but was kidnapped at a much less tender age than the rest, well into his adulthood.  He was an up-and-coming civil servant at the time, then spent longer than he can remember in Faerie, rallying crowds and practicing speeches until his throat bled and cracked into silence, learning to channel some portion of Destro’s white-hot conviction and magnetic presence, for all that being vessel to those traits felt like it burned the soul out of him.  Hanabata was charismatic and persuasive while he went in and his time in Faerie amplified those traits beyond belief, but he isn’t so broken as to believe that Destro did him some kind of favor.
He is, however, quite broken enough to believe that Destro is undefeatable and that he has no real choices in the matter.  He was returned barely a week after he was taken in real-Earth time, dropped on Re-Destro’s lap when the latter was just getting started in establishing himself.  He’s spent the twenty years since then doing whatever needs to be done in order to smooth Re-Destro’s path (he’s unusually prominent in human politics for a changeling; indeed, he’s amassed some fairly significant temporal authority) and watching the rest of his ordained motley grow up.  They’re really the only people keeping him going; Hanabata thinks they’re far more damaged than he, and in many ways he’s right--he has a much clearer grasp on what they’ve all lost, even if some of them never had it to begin with--but he’s also very badly hurt in his own way, lacking even the devoted fervor of the cause to fill up the empty spaces left in what used to be his optimism.
His mask looks like the Trumpet of the canon, minus the ever-present sense of pomade and the facial hair that can’t decide if it wants to be a mustache or not; he’s just clean-shaven.  He has a wry, expressive mouth and a nearly hypnotic voice, a baritone by turns soothing or rolling.  There’s an indefinable sense of presence to him; just looking at him makes brave people want to strike up a conversation and timid people lurk about in vague hopes of leeching up some of his confident vibes. His mien just amplifies it; he’s impossibly magnetic, with strong features and eyes the kind of green you could get lost in.  His voice is even more of a marvel here, resonant and penetrating in ways humans couldn’t typically manage without augmentation.  When out in public, he wears a camera-ready smile as faithfully as a wedding band; in private, he’s markedly more subdued.
Court/Mantle: The East, seat of envy.  Trumpet’s talents make him marvelously well-suited for this Court, but it isn’t just a matter of practicality, as the Court of the West is for Skeptic.  No, Trumpet is intimately familiar with the thumbscrew feeling of envy--no free changeling can even begin to grasp how bitterly he covets their ignorance.  His mantle can be difficult to pick apart from the gripping presence of his seeming, but when he’s working magic, it’s frequently accompanied by the bizarre sense to onlookers that he’s taller than he really is.  Even if someone is standing right next to him and knows perfectly well that they’re taller than him, sometimes they’ll blink and their eyes will lie, vision inverting such that Trumpet seems to be looking down at them.  Every so often, when he’s on a roll, his eyes will gleam the perfect yellow-white of the sun reflecting on newly-minted coins.
Contracts:
        Vainglory I-III.  Not as advanced in his understanding of this Contract as Re-Destro, but the effect is considerably more potent when he’s using it.
        Hearth I-V.  As engrossing as it is to listen to him talk, Trumpet’s real talent is in inspiring others, and the Contracts of fair and foul fortune just amplify that.
        Fleeting Spring I and Fleeting Autumn I.  First levels of the seasonal contracts don’t require Seasonal Court goodwill, but he’d probably get it from any Spring Court in the country anyway.  Envy is close cousins with Desire, after all.  Whichever the case, manipulating people is easier when you know both what they want and what they fear.
Geten
Quote: “Ice is never far away.  Prepare yourself.”
Type: Snowskin Elemental.  Geten remembers little of their time before Faerie--in fact, they have very little recollection of the passage of any of the time that must have brought them to their current age.  Their memory is like one huge block of ice, solid from wall to wall with cold and scarcity.  If some of that scarcity, back at the very beginning, is colored in a different palette than Destro’s winter, well, it’s still of a piece with the rest, so what does it matter?  All of their life was the winter--until Re-Destro appeared and chose them.  Out in the real world, Geten knows, intellectually, about the whole “herald of Destro” thing and devotes themself to the cause with admirable fervor, but in truth, that fervor is far more dedicated to Re-Destro than it is their True Fae Keeper, of whom Geten recalls next to nothing.  Generally serious and driven, Geten enjoys feeling that their actions have meaning beyond just keeping them alive, so they’re never happier than when they’re fighting for Re-Destro in concrete, measurable ways.  Generally poorly socialized in ways that would make their life much more difficult if they didn’t have Rikiya looking out for them.
In mask, Geten is a slight youth with shoulder-length, white-blonde hair and unusual pale gray eyes.  They have a delicate-looking face that’s incongruous with their rather feral personality.  In mein, their hair is fully white, as are the glowing pupils of their eyes.  Their already fair skin goes bloodlessly pale, and even on the hottest day, their features are kissed with a rime of frost.  They wear long sleeved, full-length clothes at all times of the year, though curiously, they dress more heavily in summer than in winter.
Court/Mantle: The North, seat of suffering.  Something of an unusual case in their freehold, where the power of the Directional Courts holds sway, Geten emerged from the Hedge with a strong Winter mantle.  No matter that they’re sworn to the Armor Court, that raw affinity to the Court of Sorrow remains.  This odd duality, seen by some as untrustworthy, has largely kept them from advancing very far despite their apparent dedication to the Stupa’s focused, ascetic lifestyle.  They’re frequently mistaken for being courtless, particularly in a freehold that’s less familiar with the look of the Silent Arrow than those who move in Seasonal Court circles would be.  The lack of any obvious sign of a mantle is itself the tell--Winter always makes its changelings look more stark, as if somehow etched more clearly into the fabric of the world, unobscured by other connections.  Likewise, their magic is all ice-themed anyway, so many don’t realize that the brief gusts of snow around them are a sign of their mantle--but every so often, there will be a brush of pale ash on those winds, a sign that, for all that Winter lives in their bones, Geten has still embraced the North.
Contracts: These speak for themselves.  Geten’s power set, more than anyone in these posts, hews closely to canon!Geten’s quirk meta-ability.
        Elements (Ice) I-IV.  Exacts control over ice.  They’re protected from it, they’re protected by it, they control it, and it answers their call (though their range is not anywhere close to canon!Geten’s).
        Communion (Ice) I-III.  Very unlike canon!Geten, the changeling version is ice-born enough that they speak with it like kin.  Ice isn’t much of a gossiper, as elements go, but it reflects things, sometimes, and knows the shape of everything it touches.  They can extend this awareness as far out as a mile in most weather, though the range is much shorter in e.g. a blizzard, when trying to take in that much information would be overwhelming.
        Eternal Winter I-III.  Don’t have ice?  Make your own!  Again, not as wide-ranging as canon!Geten’s, but serves much the same purpose.  Geten can also, like Spinner, perform emergency thermostat duties, though Spinner’s control over heat allows him to turn it up or expel it, while Geten’s is only ever going to make things colder.
BONUS TIDBITS:
Changeling!Re-Destro needs to be able to get around in the human world without being prone to fits of hallucination and delirium, and his magic isn't dependent on his stress levels, so unlike his canon self, he gets to have actual vacation time, do soothing yoga, etc.
Geten and Curious had some durance overlap, but neither of them remember it clearly.  Curious’s memories of that time are too patchy, while Geten’s are too hard to pare down into individual moments.  Geten does feel a sense of familiarity towards Curious, but they don’t talk about it much after the one time they described it as being, “Like she was...inside me, for a while,” and everyone looked really weirded out.
Changeling!Geten is nonbinary because It’s My AU And I’ll Do What I Want.  They are made of ice and do not really understand what the deal is with gender.
Magne doesn’t die in this AU because It’s My AU And I’ll Do What I Want.  She and Curious have to team up to brainstorm a strategy for an epic oneiromachy duel with Destro that will decisively eject him from Rikiya’s dreams without reducing Rikiya to a drooling husk.
Trumpet is the true wild card in this AU.  The other Destro-ites have never really even considered the prospect of breaking free from Destro; Trumpet has, but rather than that making him the person who’s the easiest to sway, it makes him the person most resolutely convinced that betraying Destro will lead only to suffering.  The lengths that conviction will drive him to make him a severe danger to his motley the moment they begin considering abandoning their mission.
[two photos of me from 2009 and two from 2019]
Damn, it sure has been a decade. A lot happens in 10 years! It’s been fucking hard, but there have been good things too, and I’m doing stuff I wouldn’t have imagined 10 years ago.
•in 2009 I graduated from college into the midst of the recession, felt completely burned out on art, and wanted to work in natural history museums instead (which had been my job in college). Had no job but lots of anxiety
•moved to the Boston area in 2010 and got a retail job in a natural history museum while volunteering in the collections. Had a very hard year of being panicked 24/7, learned that I cannot work customer service with my anxiety
•started going to therapy! it didn’t help my work anxiety at all, but over several years it gave me some tools and ways of thinking that have helped in general
•cut all my hair off!
•got a freelance job as an assistant in the museum collections which I did for a few years. Also starting coming back to my art, worked hard on improving it, and did some art freelance
•is it silly to put my Lupin III obsession as a decade milestone? I’m listing it anyway, because it helped my through some rough times and motivated me to make art again. When I think back on 2011-2013ish, I think of those as being The Lupin Years
•Kitty Pie came to live with us in 2012! And has been constantly adored ever since
•almost went back to school for biology, but panicked when I realized it would be way more time/money than I bargained for (turns out not a whole lot of credits from art school transfer to regular school) and backed out
•sometime around that time I also became more aware of nonbinary genders and eventually started to ID as nonbinary/trans.
•in 2013-2014, Ezra and I started developing our Space Queers (working title haha) project and I had a glorious art and creativity renaissance! I improved a lot and was actually enjoying making art for the first time since before college. Space Queers is not abandoned, btw, life is just A Lot. Still want to make that comic!
•in 2014, became friends with Jey, a wonderful human being who is part of my forever family now <3
•I got glasses. I’d needed them for several years but had been in denial
•Ezra, Jey and I tried to have a poly relationship, which was unfortunately the start of some really tough times for me. Without going too much into it, it felt like my whole world just crumbled apart. I lived through the worst depression I’ve yet experienced in 2015-2016.
•in the middle of all that, I got the news in 2016 that my dad had cancer. Just a few months later he passed away. I still feel guilty that I wasn’t with him enough while he was sick.
•my dad’s illness/death kickstarted me to do things I wanted to do “someday” though, so I started volunteering on a farm. It felt really right, so in 2017 I went to go live with my mom and worked at a nearby farm. This was a big turning point in my life
•back in Boston in 2018, I got a job at the same farm I’d volunteered at in 2016. And then, we bought a farm way out in a rural town and moved??? We’re starting a farm now??
•did SO MUCH farm work this year and loved it! dug a lot of beds, grew a lot of veg, learned a lot of stuff.
•I’m no longer in a relationship with Ezra and Jey (haven’t been for a while now), but we are Chosen Family and we love each other. I think I understand what people mean by “queerplatonic” now
•art unfortunately has been extremely hard again since my big bout of depression. I want to enjoy making art again! But lately I’ve been giving myself permission to just not make things if I don’t feel like it. I hope I can get the spark back in the ‘20s
•I still am struggling with anxiety/depression/neurodivegence, but I’ve learned some ways to manage some aspects of them. It’s still really hard feeling like I don’t know how to make a living in a world that was decidedly not designed for people like me, but farming is feeling more hopeful than anything else I’ve tried in the past decade. I’m just gonna do the best I can!
Anime || Gwilym Lee x reader
Tumblr media
Request: can you make a Gwilym Lee fanfic were the girl is one big anime addict and Gwilym learns about lupin iii from her?
———
Warnings: might have swearing I can’t remember
A/N: I’m so sorry this took so long!
———
Requests: open!
———
Anime had been a big part of (Y/n)’s life since she was a kid; Pokémon, Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh, all that good stuff. As she got older, all the newer anime just didn’t stick. She had heard of all the famous ones; Black Butler, Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, but none of them looked interesting or sparked her enough for a watch. So she stayed with the retro stuff. When Gwilym found out about (Y/n)’s anime likings he couldn’t help but let a smile slip when she got giddy over some old things she had found; whether it be original drawings, figurines, buttons, toys, posters or even the original books or special DVD collection.
“Babe look!” (Y/n) said with a grin suddenly pulling Gwils hand in another direction, she came across an anime shop, “can we go in? Can we? Can we? Can we?” the girl pleaded.
“It’s your choice babe” Gwil said with a chuckle and smile. (Y/n) grinned and quickly ran into the shop, heading straight for the manga and DVD section while Gwil held back and slowly walked around looking at everything.
“Sweetheart!? HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE ME!?” (Y/n) called out from wherever she was.
“I tell you every night. WHY” Gwil answered as he slowly made his way to his girlfriend. Gwil turned the corner and came face to face with a grinning (Y/n).
“They have the whole collection of Lupin the Third!” (Y/n) quickly said, “Please can we get them?” she asked, “this was my childhood and I was only able to watch the episodes!” she said quickly, hoping to con the man in front of her, Gwil chucked softly at (Y/n)’s antics before nodding.
“Yes we can” he said through his grin. (Y/n) quickly threw a thank you to Gwil before walking to the front desk and happily placing down the collection as Gwil trailed on behind, stopping quickly to grab a book and then placed it down on top of (Y/n)’s manga. ‘Manga for Dummies’ it read. (Y/n) cast a quick glance to Gwil before deciding against it and opting to later question him. Gwil paid for the books as (Y/n) happily bounced next to him with anticipation.
“Thank you” the person behind the counter mumbled as (Y/n) and Gwil started walking out of the store, plastic bags filled with Manga in hand. The door made a small dingle as the girl opened it to walk out and took Gwils hands, looking to the right she immediately saw a few people with cameras.
“Gwil, they’re back” (Y/n) said with a little sigh, she just wanted a nice, quiet day out with Gwil and her manga but that wouldn’t be achieved right now. A group of three teenage girls walked up to the Gwil and (Y/n).
“Could we have your autograph Gwil?” one girl asked shyly pushing a ballpoint marker towards the man, Gwil simply smiled warmly.
“Of course!” Gwil said happily, the other girls let out a breath as they grabbed pieces of paper or old receipts. Gwil signed the girl’s phone case, another girl’s receipt and the final one held out a Robin Hood book making Gwil chuckle softly at the irony. As Gwil signed the book he was given the girls looked to the bag that was wrapped around your elbow.
“Did you just come from that anime store?” one of the girls questioned as Gwil handed back the book to the one who wasn’t speaking.
“Yeah we did, Gwil was kind enough to let me buy some manga” (Y/n) said with soft confidence and a happy smile (which was contagious seeing as it made Gwil smile too) but the girls looked at each other before bursting out in fits of giggles and laughter. The smile was quickly wiped from (Y/n)’s face, as was Gwils.
“Y-you have a weeabo as a GIRLFRIEND!” one of the girls cackled as she doubled over for a second with her hand over her mouth. The paparazzi down the street started clicking their cameras even more now and opted for the flash on their cameras a well.
“SHES PROBABLY A FURRY TOO!” another one yelled. That comment made (Y/n) flush and tears spring in her eyes but she blinked them off; and made Gwil flush with anger.
“It’s none of your business what my girlfriend is or isn’t” Gwil said quickly. His grip tightened on (Y/n)’s hand, “now if you’ll excuse us. We have some light reading to do” he said before quickly walking away, tugging (Y/n) along slightly. The girls gaze stayed looking at the floor as the pair walked to the car only another street away. The car ride home was silent and thick with unwanted tension; Gwil was angry at the girls for saying such rude things to his beloved while (Y/n) couldn’t help but think that maybe Gwil didn’t like her having such a liking and addiction to anime and manga, she didn’t want to bring it up in case he ended up hating her and wanted her to move out. So she quickly got out the car when they got home and raced to the shared bedroom as Gwil brought in their bags form earlier, Gwil understood (Y/n)’s feelings and wanted the girl to feel comfortable so he let her go and didn’t chase, it would most likely only make things worse between them.
Gwil placed the bag of manga outside the door to the closed bedroom and knocked on the door, “your books are out here babe, I’m going to start dinner and I’ll call you when it’s done. Come out whenever you’re comfortable my love” the man grabbed his own book before heading off into the kitchen to make dinner. The door opened behind Gwil and the plastic bag was moved from the hall into the bedroom along with the sound of the door shutting quickly, at least she’s happy was all Gwil thought as he started on her favourite dinner.
Ding!
Gwils phone went off.
From: My Lover ❤
I hope I don’t embarrass you with my anime obsession…or whatever you are wanting to call it. I understand if you don’t want me to be around anymore, I can have my bags packed by morning.
Needless to say Gwil was shocked and sent a quick message back.
To: My Lover ❤
Darling its okay I promise. I don’t want you to leave me. Not ever unless it was an actual reason. And I promise you this isn’t a reason. Anime and those books make you happy and as long as you’re happy I’m happy; that’s why I also got that book, so I could understand and be happy with you. Not that you don’t make me happy anyway! But you get what I mean.
Gwil didn’t get a message back but continued with making the dinner.
---
The smell of (f/d) wafted through the house as Gwil set the table and lit some candles in the middle, it wasn’t meant to be romantic but (Y/n) deserved it after today. Since locking herself in the room (Y/n) had been storming through her manga and was already onto the last book before Gwil knocked on the door.
“Love? Dinners ready. If you want to eat in the room you can” Gwil said softly. (Y/n) got up from the bed and shoved a bookmark in the manga as she trudged to the door and unlocked it. Gwil stood before her in the same clothes as before but his hair was messier, he looked slightly pale and exhausted, probably worried about me (Y/n) had thought, her head dropped low and looked at the ground.
“I’m sorry” (Y/n) said softly, Gwil gave the girl a tight lipped smile.
“It’s alright, have some food and you can come back and keep reading” Gwil said softly, he kissed the girls head before walking off back to the table he had set up. A candle stand stood in the middle as the candles let off the only light, the smell was amazing as (Y/n) walked to the table, and a small smile graced her lips as she immediately recognised the smell as her favourite dinner to be served. Gwil stood behind her chair as the girl sat down and pushed it in for her before walking to his and sitting down, he looked to (Y/n) sheepishly. “I used your parent’s recipe” he mumbled softly, “I hope its okay”
“I’m sure its lovely Gwil, thank you” (Y/n) said softly before digging in, it tasted the same as it used to when she was a child; it was perfect.
“Would…” Gwil started before pausing a second, “would you teach me about the anime and manga you like?” he asked. (Y/n) stopped her chewing as she looked to the man in front of her.
“You want me to…teach you?”(Y/n) asked.
“I guess? Or watching and read. I’m not sure…” Gwil answered before continuing with his food, “it makes you happy and I don’t want those things the girls said to get to your head. It wasn’t right” Gwil said.
“We can watch it if you want” (Y/n) mumbled softly through a mouthful of food, she had covered her mouth with the back of her hand out of respect but it still came out a little muffled as she tried not to spill her food.
“Yeah? You wouldn’t mind?” Gwil asked, not knowing what he even meant by ‘you wouldn’t mind’.
“Why would I mind?” (Y/n) asked chuckling softly as Gwil shook his head.
“I don’t know” Gwil said through his smile as he continued eating.
“Well, which one did you want to watch first?” (Y/n) asked as she took a sip of her drink.
“Whichever is your favourite” Gwil said softly, this made (Y/n) shift slightly in her seat.
“Lupin the Third is my favourite” the girl mumbled softly.
“Yeah? What’s good about it? Whys it your favourite?” Gwil asked with a smile, trying to coax the girl into opening up more about this.
“W-well…Arsène Lupin III is the grandson of world-famous thief Arsène Lupin, and he's living up to his grandfather's memory as a high-profile thief himself. But because of this, Lupin III attracts the attention of the Inspector Zenigata of the ICPO, as well as other criminals. Lupin III's criminal lifestyle even seeps into his love life!” exclaimed a little with a smile remembering some bits of the show, “the main woman in Lupin III's world is Fujiko Mine, who Lupin III can never tell is working with or against him. Lupin even has a gunman partner called Daisuke Jigen!” (Y/n) finished with a smile.
“Well” Gwil said as he finished his food and put his utensils down with a smile, “sounds interesting, when can we start?” he asked and (Y/n) it her lip softly and shrugged.
“You know, whenever I guess I don’t mind” the girl said.
“How about after dinner?” Gwil asked with a knowing glint in his eyes. (Y/n) looked up with a smile and nodded, “then is settled!” Gwil said happily, “now, desert?” he asked.
“I would love some desert” (Y/n) said as she finished her last mouthful of dinner, “that was lovely Gwil. Thank you, for the food and help with the girls” (Y/n) said as Gwil took their plates. As Gwil set the plates so they wouldn’t drop while carrying them he bent down and kissed (Y/n) softly.
“My pleasure doll” he said softly before walking off.
March Favourites: Natural Beauty and Wellness Products for Your Return to Spring
Some of my favourite posts to write are those that bring up the natural beauty and wellness products I’ve been loving over the course of the past month – my monthly faves posts. It’s been a while since I had the time to write one of these, but thanks to a long Easter break in Norway, I found the time to cozy up with some wool blankets and my laptop and curate for you March’s Monthly Faves. It’s a combination of my usual green beauty explorations and some other wellness and spirit soothing finds. I hope you enjoy, beautiful.
Eye Treatment Fave: Maya Chia The Eye Achiever
I’m loving this concentrated corrective serum from a beloved brand, Maya Chia. The eye serum has been created specifically for the delicate eye area and contains nutrient dense oils of sweet white lupin seeds (helps with firmness), chia seed oil (what Maya Chia is known for), as well as protective raspberry seed oil and black cumin seed oil. But the real magic is working from the sea plants- macros and micro-algae extracts from Undaria Pinnatifida (great for anti-aging by promoting the cell’s ability to fight free radicals), sea lavender (which is shown to increase tubules length which increases microcirculation) and Alaria Esculenta extract (promotes firmness and elasticity of the skin).
Needless to say, this eye serum is above and beyond when it comes to super ingredients and potent potions. I’ve been using it for a month and love the steel rollerball which massages the oil cooly into the skin, also helping to take down any puffiness.
Shop online at Maya Chia online directly, or from The Detox Market.
If you order from The Detox Market between April 1st & 2nd 2018, use code FREESHIP for free shipping in US & Canada.
Serum Fave: Kypris Beauty Elixir III Prismatic Array
Kypris is another beautiful brand that makes some potent and beautiful products. This month I have been indulging in their Beauty Elixir No 3, Prismatic Array, a moisturizing facial oil that is perfect for even the most sensitive skin types. Youth boosting CoQ10, and collagen helping Vitamin C, this beautifully formulated oil is also packed with a heavy dose of seed, such as skin elasticity benefactor, Prickly Pear Seed oil.
My skin has been loving absorbing this oil on the daily this month, it is so super nourishing and with no essential oils, it’s a super gentle oil for anyone who is sensitive to some of the more essential-oil infused serums (which I also love). It is rich and fatty, but is light enough for any skintype, yes even oily skin types. A few drops is all you need.
Shop online in two different sizes (47 ml is pictured) from Citrine Natural Beauty Bar.
Oil Cleanser: Max&Me Purity & Grace
What I love about oil cleansers is how seriously gentle they are – taking away pollutants from the skin and makeup with ease but never by drying out the skin. Massaging oil cleansers into the skin also helps to activate the lymph and help drain the face from tensions and toxins its holding onto. Alexandrian laurel oil, Marula Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sesame oil and Seabuckthorn oil is a serious power-house ingredients list. It has to be one of the most nourishing oil cleansers I’ve tried to date – and I’ve tried a lot of cleansers ;)
I seriously love Max&Me products – their purity is so highly regarded and their ingredients are beautifully blended. Use code LPN150 to get an incredible gift with purchase on their site, when you spend 150 EUR or more. The gift includes: 5ml Mask&Wash, 5ml Beauty Balm and 10 ml Purity & Grace oil cleanser.
Shop online from Max&Me’s site.
Essential Oil of the Month: doTERRA Rosemary Oil
I love essential oils for so many reasons: their healing properties, their scent, their taste (for some I take internally, but only certain oils). Rosemary is the oil I’ve been loving so very much this month, and have been using it in the mornings for dry brushing before my showers. I just drop 3 drops into my hand, rub the bristles of my dry brush in it and then go through the body working from the feet up.
Rosemary is a great oil for diffusing, using topically and even taking internally (but before you take any essential oil internally make sure it is therapeutic grade, like doTERRA’s and ensure you are familiar with dosage). It is known for supporting healthy digestion, reducing nervous tension and fatigue, supporting healthy respiratory function, and maintaining concentration. Since it is a mild oil, most people do not need to dilute it before using, and you can use it “neat” or straight from the bottle.
Face Mask: Matcha Obsessed Matcha Clay Mask
Matcha has been all the rage this past year, no doubt because of the powerful anti-oxidant benefits riding in that green powdered tea. Studies show that Matcha reduces inflammation and fights damaging free radicals, so instead of just drinking it, why not also let the skin soak up the nutrients directly? This matcha clay mask combines purifying organic clay, hydrating coconut milk, pure honey, echinacea and the antioxidants of organic matcha powdered tea. They clay removes impurities and tightens the pores, while toning the skin, while the matcha tea is great for beating off those free-radicals, and the echinacea is useful for reducing redness and inflammation in acne.  The removal of the mask will also help exfoliate dead skin cells.
I left the mask on for 10 minutes and enjoyed the freshest feeling skin after removal. I loved also using the jade roller following the application with my facial oil to help plump up the collagen and stimulate the lymph.
Save 20% off with code MatchaLPN on their website.
Yoni Treatment: Fat & the Moon Yoni Duster
This was kind of a random find when I was in Maui earlier this month – a duster for the yoni with a base of natural arrowroot, white clay and oregon grape root powder, myrrh powder and goldenseal powder and tea tree essential oil. Sitting in a wet bathing suit for the better part of a week after not being in a tropical climate for the past few months, I was extremely grateful to find this on the shelves of a little shop in Paia, Maui. Lucky for you, I found them online later, and you can order online.
I would argue this is a must have for preventing or naturally treating issues related to yeast or unwanted bacteria, this Yoni Duster is gentle and effectiveI. It is a great alternative to perfume and chemical laden products that can make bacterial situations worse, and is a perfect travel companion when you’re heading to those sunny destinations.
Shop online from their website.
Book of the Month: Women who Run with the Wolves
For the feminine soul, this book is a must read. I am still digging in, but thought I would share it with you since it is not going to be finished before month’s end. You spend the book digging into the Wild Woman archetype by delving deep into old folk tales and fairy tales to unlock the often unseen meanings. Clarissa Pinkola Estes, a Jungian analyst and storyteller who has a great deal of linage of female storytellers in her family. Digging into everything from trusting our own wisdom and not turning away from the hard parts in love, this book is a must-read for every woman that is ready for the plunge.
Find this gem on Amazon for shipping worldwide.
Crystal of the “Moonth”: Tourmaline Rubellite
This month I have been using this month, without really knowing why I was reaching for it. It was only until after I spent some time researching the stone that it all made sense. When leading a very busy life, Tourmaline Rubellite has been said to be a great stone for bringing energy into the physical body. It is known for properties that also help increase enthusiasm and love for life. It’s a stone that is working a lot on the physical plane, which is something I needed when I dipped into these past days of holiday – an energy reboot.
I found mine at a crystal shop back home in Vancouver, but you can seek one out at most crystal shops wherever you are.
Hope you enjoyed this natural beauty and wellness round up.
Have a beautiful return into Spring, beauties.
