Danny is tired and annoyed. On one hand, his parents took the whole ‘so I might be slightly dead’ pretty well! Which is good! On the other, they decided to send him and his sisters to their uncle while they take care of the Guys in White and refurbish the house to be, well, him safe. Which meant a ridiculously long flight all the way to New Jersey. 

A flight he was pretty sure happened to be illegal what with the fact that neither of them were asked for their IDs or anything despite having them with them. Hm. Y’know he’s not going to question it, he’s getting a nap the moment they get to Uncle Harvey’s.

No, Microsoft Word, upon consideration I don't think my audience will be offended by my use of the word "fuck". My intended audience is queers, teenagers, and queer teenagers, all of whom seem to be absolutely fucking delighted by my use of the word "fuck".

I find it deeply aesthetically pleasing, character-wise, that Arthur and Merlin are both very much like their mothers, which is especially meaningful in Arthur's case since he's never known his mother beyond a single painfully brief meeting in "Sins of the Father."

Not only does Arthur look like Ygraine (which adds several layers to the clusterfuck of his and Uther's relationship) but it's clear that he takes after her temperament, too. Yes, he sometimes shows his father's temper, and yes, he does stupid things when he's in a temper, but unlike Uther, who literally took his prejudices to his grave and beyond, Arthur never stays mad at people, and he's overall a far more caring and kind person than his father, which is an interesting case of nature vs nurture.

And then on the other hand, we have Hunith, who told a mounted, armed brigand to go fuck himself, later fought another (also armed) brigand with a twig broom, harboured fugitives on multiple occasions, and raised an illegal magic child out of wedlock, and Merlin "Fuck the Police" Ambrosius, who got in a fistfight, got thrown in jail for the fistfight, called the prince a bitch to his face in a public market square, got in a second, armed fight all within his first 48 hours in Camelot, and then committed treason on a daily basis for the next 10+ years, compared to Balinor, who became a weird antisocial hermit that lived in a cave for twenty years.

also, there's a reason hunith and ygraine never met in the show. their dynamic duo would outshine everyone, they'd be unstoppable, untouchable, I FEEL ROBBED

I mean, in the legends books there was a son and grandson of Palpatine. The son's name was Triclops (he had a third eye but it was on the back of his head) and while he was awake he was a nice guy and a pacifist but also a little insane because the Empire had tried to fix him with electroshock therapy. While he was asleep though he became a literal sleeper agent because he dreamed up WMD's and sleptwalked around the Rebellion bases and transmitted that info to the Empire remnants. He also had a son with a Jedi Princess? who was called a Jedi Prince and his name was Ken; he was a history nerd and he was raised by droids and thought forever that his Dad was Obi Wan "Ken"obi. Luke actually trained him instead of exiling himself on a random planet and together they ended up burying the rest of the Empire Grand Moffs alive. Interesting times.

how she woke up as he went into the bathroom, and took a peek at his wallet on the side table, and saw the picture of serafina and her kids.

how her heart dropped, and when she met serafina, she saw an exhausted kindred spirit, pregnant with a baby girl who would be the same age as her own daughter. how they clicked, like they were meant to be sisters, but just lost their way for a bit before finding each other.

how she was so ridiculously overjoyed when serafina moved into the neighborhood, being able to watch the budding romance blooming between her new sister and tugger and mistoffelees.

how she got to have another sister, for just a little while, and how serafina loved her and bombalurina like they were her blood, how skimbleshanks and jennyanydots loved serafina like she was their own.

how when she met her nieces and nephew, and saw athena's hair on sekhmet's head, athena's frown on ares' face, and little persephone, barely a few years old, and she realized who their father was, and when she read athena's letter, everything grew cold.

every feeling she had when she saw the picture of serafina and her children in macavity's wallet came back tenfold. the pain, the anger, the guilt, the absolute fury.

and when macavity came walking into the backyard on the day of the memorial, eyes full of self-pity and hands offering gifts, private things that belonged to her sisters that he had no right to hold onto, demeter felt nothing but hatred in her heart.

demeter hadn't known about serafina and athena, or their sweet little babies that she would one day come to love as her own.

but macavity had.

and demeter would never forgive that.
