Be Proud: Viktor x Reader
Summary: Viktor's newfound fame as the co-founder of Hextech has taken its toll on your insecurities.
Words: 2.1k
Warnings: mentions and allusions to body dysmorphia/eating disorders
Author's Note: I starting writing this to play with the idea of how founding Hextech probably gave Jayce and Viktor celebrity status in a way and how that would affect them and people involved with them. It ended up turning into a vent fic about my body image issues as well, to the point I almost didn’t post because it got so personal. But I figured there’s people out there who relate and might find solace in reading this as I did writing it.

You’re so proud of him. Everything he’s accomplished, everyone he’s helped. He’s living his dream, creating the future, and he’s being listened to and valued by topsiders. This is all you’ve ever wanted for him, and you would never think of standing in his way.
Which is precisely why you’ve never told him how insecure it all makes you feel.
Before Viktor got involved with Hextech, life was so much more predictable. You both could live your days together in peace, never being in the spotlight and rarely interacting with the highest of powers in Piltover. Life was hard, sure, but nothing you couldn’t manage without some tasteful spite and stubbornness. Viktor always knew his background would be a stumbling block for him up here, and you really weren’t much farther ahead, being from a title-less family with half your relatives from the Undercity.
But you’re not used to being around such glamour and poise. As Viktor becomes more involved with the Council and the wealthier areas of Piltover, making Hextech gadgets per their requests and being invited to fancy events, you’re left mourning simpler times. You’ll never get used to people coming up to you on the street while you bring your husband some lunch, or people staring at you during conferences when you’re just there to support him. Everyday citizens want to know and analyze everything about you, simply because you’re married to Piltover’s finest scientist.
You don’t like to bother Viktor with how it’s affected you, especially since he’s so good at handling it all. He’s always been so proud of who he is—where he came from—because he’s had to be. He’s not phased by the new fame as the co-founder of Hextech, and he easily shrugs off any comments people make about his past or his looks. To him, celebrity status is just a slight annoyance that occasionally distracts him from doing his work in the labs. But for you, it’s brought back every insecurity you’ve ever had about yourself.
You’ve stopped joining him as much at dinners and banquets because you fear they’ll judge how you look in a dress. You’ve stopped chiming in to interviews so you don’t say something stupid and embarrass him. You’ve stopped visiting him so much while he’s working so people won’t talk to or see you on the street.
You’ve started picking yourself apart in the mirror again, fussing every morning until you might cry. You compare yourself to the beautiful specimens that surround you, perfect in face, body, and manners. You start wondering if people judge how you speak or how much you eat. You wonder if people gossip about your family origins or your marriage. You wonder if you really, really, tried—if you could look like them. If you could be like them.
Viktor has started to stay back from some events with you lately, claiming Jayce is better at being the face of Hextech anyway. But tonight marks the five year anniversary of the company, and Councilor Medarda insisted there be a grand celebration.
The feast and dance will be held in her personal mansion, with the rest of the council and all the investors invited, as well as several reporters and journalists. Jayce will give an update address on what they’ve been working on, and what they hope to achieve by the bicentennial Progress Day.
This is something you can’t get out of and you know it. You drive yourself crazy trying on every dress in your closet, hoping to find something suitable for the affair. Half of them don’t even fit, which sends you into a further spiral, and the ones that do still don’t look good enough in your reflection.
Now the floor is covered in failed attempts at getting dressed, negative thoughts taking over your mind. Thoughts you know aren’t true, but you can’t stop thinking them.
He’ll be embarrassed to be seen with me.
I’m not good enough to be here.
I should eat less.
If I tried harder I could look like her.
I should check how much I weigh again. What happened to that damn scale?
They only invited me because they have to.
They probably talk about me—
You’re so deep in your head that you jump when you see Viktor leaning against the door frame, eyes full of love and concern.
“Are you alright, darling?”
You look down at yourself, wearing the last dress you had in your closet. It fits perfectly, but that’s part of the problem.
Viktor moves towards you as tears well in your eyes. He wipes them away with his thumbs, smearing some of the makeup you put on earlier.
“Talk to me,” he says.
“No.” you reply, avoiding his gaze.
“No?” he chuckles. “Why not?”
“It’s so stupid,” you sigh. “I thought I recovered from this. I should be able to handle this.”
“Handle what?”
“All this publicity shit!” you finally look at him. “I hate being watched and talked about and judged for what I say and look like all the time. I hate being asked about personal things and nearly passing out because I’m scared to eat in front of people. I hate all these superficial gatherings that are probably just for show-”
“You’re alright, you’re alright,” he cuts you off, dropping his crutch to the floor and wrapping his arms around you. “Why didn’t you tell me you’ve been feeling this way? Why didn’t you tell me it was getting bad again?”
You sniffle, “I...I didn’t want to bother you with something that doesn’t seem to bother you. You’re so good at being confident no matter what people say about you.”
“You think it doesn’t bother me?” he questions. “You think it doesn’t hurt me every time I overhear insults about me or my home, let alone when they say it to my face? You think I don’t notice that most of these people wouldn’t blink an eye if I died if it wasn’t for what I can offer them?”
He squeezes you tighter before slightly pulling away to look at your face, “I’m just better at hiding what it does to me, darling. Having a drive to prove myself is not the same as confidence. Now,” he kisses your forehead, “Tell me why you’ve been in here for over an hour and still aren’t ready, hm?”
“Well,” you gesture to the piles on the floor. “Those ones don’t fit. I must’ve gained more weight but I don’t really know for sure because I can’t find the scale. And those ones I just don’t like. And this one does fit, but it’s tight and I’ve never worn something form-fitted to an event before. I don’t want to deal with comments about my stomach sticking out or my arms looking puffy or whether I’m proportioned to their tastes.”
“You truly believe they’ll say those things?”
“I don’t know what they’ll say. That’s what’s so scary.”
The tears return, falling slowly down your cheeks.
“Darling,” Viktor says softly. “No one will ever think or say anything as horrible as what you think and say about yourself. I promise you that.”
You nod, allowing him to soothe you, “I know.”
“I need you to tell me when these thoughts are getting bad. Do you understand? I never want you to go so long feeling this way ever again,” he tilts your chin. “Do you understand?”
“I understand.”
“Good. Now, if you really don’t want to go, I’ll make up an excuse to get us out of it. But…” he slides his hands down your curves, “...it would be quite a shame if I didn’t get to see you wearing this all night.”
“You actually think it looks good?”
“Of course,” his eyes travel down your figure. “You always look perfect to me.”
“But-”
“No buts. Listen to me,” he faces you towards the mirror. “This body has gotten you through so much. I want you to be proud. Most of these people have never known a day of true hardship, but not you. You’re strong and you’re soft and you’re beautiful, and you’re the only one I’ll ever desire.”
You smile, knowing he means every word. You try to see what he sees, remembering every time he’s showered you with praise. You know he’s never once agreed with any of the horrible things you think about yourself. You know he loves everything about you, including how your body compliments his smaller, angular one. He’s never made you feel bad about anything, so why is it still so hard to believe him?
“Thank you, Viktor,” you say, turning to kiss his cheek. “I’ll try to be proud.”
“Good,” he nods. “Now, no more worrying about the scale or falling into old habits, alright? I want you to enjoy yourself tonight.”
“Fine, fine, I’ll try,” you laugh a bit. “You know what happened to it, though, don’t you?”
“Of course. I threw it out months ago,” he smirks. “You think I didn’t notice you checking it every single day?”
“You’re too good to me,” you bend down to pick his crutch up off the floor and hand it to him. “Let me just fix my makeup and we can go.”
“No more crying it off, alright?” he chuckles.
-
Jayce and Mel are waiting for you, welcoming you both to the celebrations. You can already feel the eyes and cameras on you, but you hold your head high, squeezing Viktor’s hand extra tight.
It’s been awhile since you’ve attended an event, but they always seem to go the same. Investors and council members come up to chat, mostly directing their questions towards Jayce. Sometimes they act as if Viktor isn’t even there, which boils your blood to the point you’ve said something on multiple occasions. Viktor has told you many times that he doesn’t mind being behind the scenes, and that Jayce is better at talking anyway, but you can never fully let it go. If people are going to gossip about him and your lives but not actually talk to him, you’ll gladly take the liberty of giving people a piece of your mind. You’d rather focus on lifting him up than dwell on your own self-consciousness, anyway.
One thing is different this time though—being that Viktor is a lot more handsy tonight than usual. He’s not normally one for public displays of affection, sticking to hand-holding and a few reassuring touches here and there. But tonight he can’t keep his hands off you.
It doesn’t matter what you’re doing, whether it be listening to the conversations, answering questions, or participating in the feast and drinks. He always has a hand on your waist or your thigh, gliding to your hips and stomach every so often. It seems mindless, as if he does this every time you’re out together, but you know he’s putting in a special effort to make you feel good.
And damn is it working.
You feel more at peace than you ever have since entering the public eye, proud of who you are and who you’re with. Who cares if people are whispering about their opinions on the Zaunite inventor? Who cares if there’s pictures of you in tomorrow’s tabloids with unflattering angles? Maybe all that matters is you’re having fun with your husband, and he’s making you feel oh so beautiful.
The night goes on for hours, attendees fizzling out until there’s only a handful left. You convince Viktor to dance with you before you leave, leaning against you and swaying simply. You wrap your arms around his neck, wiggling your fingers into his hair. He looks at you with such admiration, such devotion.
How could you ever doubt yourself under the gaze of those eyes?
“You lovebugs ready to head out?” Jayce approaches you both. “Viktor and I have a meeting with Heimerdinger in the morning.”
“Ah, yes, we do,” he briefly looks away from you. “But...perhaps we could push it until the afternoon?”
Jayce rolls his eyes and chuckles, “Yeah, yeah, I’m sure you guys are in for a long night. Have fun.”
He waves and walks away, and you burst out laughing.
“Is it really that obvious?” Viktor jokes, returning his full attention to you.
“Viktor, darling, you’ve been all over me since we got here. I’d say the entire city knows how bad you want me tonight.”
“Maybe I want them to know,” he grins, sliding a hand up your dress and squeezing your thigh.
“Viktor!” you gasp, playfully slapping his hand away.
“Alright, I suppose we can go home first,” he pivots around, moving towards the door and extending his arm to you, “Shall we?”
You nod, quickly returning to his side.
Jayce was right, it’s going to be a long, lovely night.

JayVik Fic: Happy With You
Status: Complete!
Chapters: 1/1
Excerpt:
“The Mad Chemist trans-ed my gender.” Jayce struggled to lock the door properly through his giggles. His whole body was shaking as he tried not to laugh too hard at the way that was phrased. “It’s true!” Viktor insisted. The deadbolt clicked, and he turned to guide his husband, “Alright, V.” Viktor walked with him. “You don’t believe me. You never believe any of my theories. Who are you to laugh, anyway? You weren’t there!” He almost pointed out that there was no way Viktor had been there either, as the mere thought his husband had met the Mad Chemist and lived was laughable within itself, but he decided to drop that part. “V, the whole reason Hextech is a thing is because I listened to your theory.”
Summary: Jayce and Viktor stumble into their house after their wedding, more than a little drunk.
Rating: G. No warnings.
Paring: JayVik.

Absence of Faith
Tumblr media
Note: This is an excerpt from a fanfiction I probably won't write in its entirety. But this scene has stood out to me lately, for reasons related to things going on in my personal life. If you'd like listening material while you read, Sibeling by Depeche Mode is what I wrote this to.
Context: Viktor is involved with a woman named Anya. They grew up in the same area, and lost contact. They reconnected later in Piltover, shortly before he met Jayce. Anya is an alumnus of the Academy, she is a mage and a theoretical physicist, and a patron for Viktor and later HexTech. In this scene, she has been injured after being caught between the violence in the undercity. (She recovers and is fine, though it's not depicted here.)
potential warnings: unconsciousness, pregnancy, viktor is pro-choice, infertility, terminal illness.
Next chapter
Viktor stood perched against the side of the hospital bed where Anya lay. His cane languishing against his better hip, his eyes cast down on the shadowed floor – the thoughts that plagued his mind seemed to spiral between everything and nothing. The fragility of life, the certainty of death. With his own terminal diagnosis a week prior, the lament of death was still acrid on his tongue.
Thoughts of what could be. Thoughts of what could have been.
Anya lay silent, placid – the pallor that hung over her like a threat made his chest grow weak. She was fine, the nurse reassured him. The doctor had prescribed a mild sedative. She needed rest if the bruises and swelling were going to resolve themselves.
It didn’t quiet his mind any.
But having Jayce there, even if there was nothing he could do, anchored him. His friend, his confidant. Jayce was seemingly impervious to the wrongdoing of the world – a perfectly tanned hide from which things could bounce and roll. He was strong, weathered. Viktor was only the latter, and every day his body reminded him of it.
Another nurse came through the door with a blood pressure machine trailing behind her. No words were spoken, Viktor only moved his cane and watched as the woman tended to his beloved. The reading was low, but not overly concerning – after years of his own ailing health, he had grown accustomed to what was worrying and what wasn’t. It still didn’t allay him.
“Are you her next of kin?” she asked.
“I am. I am her husband,” Viktor said. He shuffled to turn himself towards the bedside.
Jayce pretended not to hear anything as the nurse began to go over Anya’s health with him.
“Her blood pressure isn’t bad, but the doctor may want to keep her overnight to monitor her and the pregnancy. How far along is she?”
“Ten weeks.”
The nurse wrote her notations. “I will keep you updated on what the doctor has to say.”
He didn’t look up when the nurse left, he kept his sight on Anya. His thumb brushed over her cold hand, it was usually his hands that were frigid and sharp to the touch, Anya’s usually warm and soft, like the honey color of her skin. He swallowed silently.
“You didn’t say she was pregnant,” Jayce said.
Viktor half turned to look at his friend, though his sight was still held captive by his beloved. “She asked me not to.”
There was no malice in Jayce, but fear of betrayal and the doubt that Anya did not trust him – even despite their own friendship.
“We were unsure how we were going to proceed,” he continued. “I told her whatever she decided, I would support her.”
Jayce tensed his teeth and took a breath as his friend finally parted from her side. He chose his words carefully, and veiled. “You told me a long time ago you couldn’t have children.”
Viktor shot him a glance as he took a seat beside him on the other end of the room from Anya’s bed. “There was always a fraction of a chance.” The chemical runoff that had scarred his lungs had also devastated other aspects of his health. Prolonged exposure throughout his childhood and young adulthood had rendered him barren. The lasting effects of polio robbed him of the capability of unaided pleasure. It wasn’t enough that the people of Zaun suffered in poverty, they were also denied the ability of reproduction and desire.
Anger seethed in his mouth. It burned his tongue as his eyes lain fixated on Anya. Tensions between the upper and under cities were too high for her to have been wandering the Lanes in her condition. He should have stopped her, he should have gone in her place, he should have forbidden her.
A scoff pulled at his lips as he thought of her outrage that he should forbid her from something. She was strong willed and vibrant. It was his only comfort that she would fare well despite the pain she was in. The child inside of her was another matter.
His braced leg extended, Viktor laid back in the chair and rested his head on the wall behind him. “I would make a terrible parent,” he said to no one in particular.
Jayce furrowed and looked at him, incredulous. “I think you’d make a great father. You’re smart. The world needs more smart parents.”
Viktor rolled his head along the wall. “I am too self centered. Too preoccupied with my own thoughts. My own endeavours. I would be neglectful.”
“Your parents were inventors, too, weren’t they? It’s not impossible to do both.”
“Not impossible. Improbable.”
Jayce almost laughed, but his heart was too heavy. “So was your chance of having children.”
Viktor ebbed his head to look at his friend, a blank expression written across his face.
Despite his doubts about himself, his faith in Anya prevailed. She would have been an excellent parent – attentive, fair, thoughtful, intelligent; qualities that drew him to her in the first place. She always made an effort to include him when they were children living in the Fissures; she never forgot him, never forgot his name. Even after almost fifteen years had passed since they had seen each other in childhood, after they reconnected, her judicious and kind demeanour had never left her. She remained a constant in his life, despite the time they had spent apart.
Viktor did not believe in God, neither Fate, but he gave credence to happy, and unhappy, coincidence – statistical anomalies that varied in subjective favor. Meeting Anya again had been as close as he had come to seeing the face of God, to seeing the strings of Fate.
His life had only improved since she had been in it. Something akin to hope and something close to happiness had found him. They followed her into his path.
The thought of losing her was something he chose not to hold onto. It was his life that hung in the balance, not hers. That is always how it was meant to be. He knew himself to be a doomed man from a young age – children from the Fissures don’t often have long lifespans.
Only that he did not expect his time to come so early, when life seemed better.
But Anya was a different species than him, altogether. A species afforded with long life, with thicker bones and thicker blood. She would have outlived him anyway, despite her immunity to the fumes and fluids of the Fissures.
It made him wonder about the child they had conceived – the statistical anomalies it would possess. Would it inherit the immunity offered by its mother? Or the weakness of the flesh by its father? Would it have her eyes? Or perhaps his own sense of humor?
Would he be alive to see it born?
“Promise me you will look after her.” Viktor did not look at Jayce.
Jayce bowed his head. He did not answer.
Viktor did not need him to. The faith he had in his friend, in those he loved, was the only faith and entity he needed.
“It is a terrible irony. That I should create life. While losing my own.”

Note
I have the hc that Emberflit is just his childhood house, and that's where he goes when he is feeling extra sad. In Legends of Runaterra, he also has a "secret evil lab" (it's a card called Hexcore Foundry)
YES!
The old lady roomie was a fun little tangent, but Emberflit actually being his childhood home is what I went with in both Pulse of the Machine and my Our Hextech Dream series. And it makes sense, in a horribly depressing sort of way—once he’s banished, he’s alone and scared and just aching for something familiar. And if he had to wait until he was partly/mostly Machine Heralded to erm… politely relocate whoever was now living there, that’s his business.
But it would also be yet another hole in his ‘emotion is a weakness I must shed’ rhetoric, if he went back to this place that held sentimental value. Sentiment is for those that stoke the emotional connection, V. And I’m sure he’d brush it off with “oh well it was just convenient,” but that’s BS. There’s a thousand other houses that would be convenient too, but you chose the one you grew up in, the one you lived in with your family, the one where you made memories, both good and bad.
I can see it. At the end of the day, our big tough cyborg man just wants to be safe and comfortable, with a glass of sweetmilk in his hand and his hunky ex husband in his bed.

Fic Ideas (Vilco Edition)
Modern AU! Viktoria is the tutor of Jinx and inadvertently ends up charming her father, Silco, the mafia boss.
Same Modern AU! Silco tries to tell Vander (they are on decent terms) that he plans to marry Viktoria but Vander has no idea that Silco is in a relationship with Viktoria so he thinks he is asking for help to hide the body and not tell Jinx.
Mafia Wife Viktoria! Silco visits Viktoria (these two are married before canon) in the lab one day but she is not there, only Jayce, so this will be the first meeting between them. Jayce is nervous as he wants to make a good impression on her best friend’s husband (he doesn’t know that Silco is the boss of the underground) while Silco is irritated with Jayce for getting all the attention with Hextech while Viktoria stays in the shadows (even though she is fine with this).
Silco introducing himself to Pavel, Viktoria older brother, but he is uncomfortable with how much he reminds him of Vander.
Viktoria found Singed the night of the explosion and prepares to take him to the lab but Silco asks her who the hell she is and what she is doing with Singed, Viktoria introduces herself as Singed’s daughter.

who’s your favorite npc you’ve designed :0 (- @/albatrio)
i have been WAITING for this one :D
if my players are seeing this before they block the tag (#when the dust settles do NOT click on the tag in the post) BLOCK IT NOW AND DO NOT PROCEED. please i want you to experience the surprise :(
are they gone?
ok, here’s a list :)
1. Cordia Hyre
Cordia is my ultimate babygirl. She has committed several war crimes as an individual who’s high in rank in the rebellion. She’s also one of the most powerful magic wielders of the entire campaign - one of her unofficial titles is Planemover, as she (with the help of her husband, a member of the Order of Glass) convinced the Feywild to give the cause a bit of the plane to hide away on as they gathered resources and recuperated.
She’s…a very complicated character. The majority of the decisions she makes are made genuinely from a place of love, but she does make some objectively fucked up decisions.
One of my players, Luna, gave me the opportunity to write a large part of his character, specifically her backstory. Perle doesn’t know this, and neither does Luna, but Perle is an incredibly significant individual in the context of the rebellion. He’s is Cordia and Aedium’s kid, and Cordia’s decision to modify his memory to make him not remember his community is one that effects the entire rebel body.
It’s also a decision that effects Perle - I was actually just speaking to Luna about how the cracks that are starting to show through with that spell are effecting his ability to trust himself. I’m…deeply intrigued by what will happen when that spell inevitably gets dispelled, or goes down, and how Luna will play that as Perle. Because I know what Cordia’s thought process was, but she never asked her son what his desires were before she executed that act.
2. Metis Kore Hey so you know how I was heavily sympathizing with a war criminal above? Yeah, here’s her foil that I despise but love from like, a character perspective. Metis is...genuinely one of the worst people I’ve ever written. She’s the mother of one of my other PCs, AK, who she experimented on to the point of his death, and then subsequently revived him. She’s a litch at the moment because I needed her to be somewhat present in the story, but wanted to honor my player, who when I inquired about the Kore family, said that they thought that AK might have killed Metis while he was escaping. Right now she’s the individual who funds the actual criminals (I specify because the Firelights are technically criminals in the eyes of the law, but are actually trying to help their community) of Zuan who have been slowly, but steadily, abducting Zuan children for Metis’s experiments with Hextech. She’s essentially trying to create immortal humanoids and, um...let’s just say that from the TW list I’ve had to put together for AK’s arc, has thus far had no success. 3.   Zeus & Romulus Aere More members of the Kore family, what a surprise! Candle, as much as AK is the character I find myself having to think of ways to balance more and more on a mechanic level, has created so many fantastic opportunities for me to introduce aspects of the world that I don’t think my players would have sought out on their own. One of these is the members of the Kore family that are missing - Zeus, and Romulus. Romulus is AK’s older brother. When he is reunited with Zeus on the Dominum, a pirate ship that his father captain, he’s not incredibly friendly towards him. All that Romulus knows is that his father left by his own violation, and cause a domino effect that lead to Romulus being forced to flee Piltover too. Zeus...does genuinely try, from the time he recognizes Romulus again, to have a relationship with him, but he wasn’t there to witness what Metis put Romulus and AK through - he doesn’t know that Romulus is being reactive to not be retraumatized. They do eventually get to a good place with one another. Romulus’s last name is taken from one of Zeus’s close friends, and quartermaster, who is the person on the ship who mentors him, and is generally someone he leans on in the healing process. I’m excited for this reunion too, because Romulus does think about AK a lot, to the point that the only picture that remains of him pre-transition is in the locket he carries.
4. Silco Yeah. She’s alive and she’s transfem. My game, my rules, and I say that Silco is a transfem Paladin who kicks ass. She’s presumed dead right now but I do have a player who suspects she’s alive because of a...very good perception roll. For Silco I’m excited from a storytellling perspective, and a mechanic one! Her oath is one I’m working on homebrewing myself because I like to make my life harder. That and her relationship with Vander & how their respective oaths effect that relationship should be fun. An honorable mention goes to the Firelights, who I’m sort of glad AK traumadumped on because now they have a reason to have a relationship with my players! The Firelights are really the only organization other than the Academy that I’ve worked on extensively, and they’re just fun :)

OH my god. HOW have I been sleeping on Sweeter Than Fiction as a mid-time skip era Jayvik song??? The first verse and chorus is Jayce singing to Viktor and the second verse and chorus is Viktor singing back to Jayce. The bridge could apply to both of them.
“Only sound, only sound that you hear is ‘No’” How many times would Viktor have heard that as a Zaunite in Piltover?
“You never saw it comin', slipped when you started runnin'” An unfortunately literal metaphor
“Wish I could make it better, someday you won't remember / This pain you thought would last forever and ever” This is such a Jayce line in relation to Viktor
“Just a shot, just a shot in the dark, oh, oh / All you got, all you got are your shattered hopes” Guys this is literally how they met. Viktor took a chance on Jayce, a literal shot in the dark when Jayce’s dreams had been shattered
“And now you're on to somethin'” Almost verbatim what Viktor said
“What a sight, what a sight when the light came on / Proved me right, proved me right when you proved them wrong” The light coming on like the breakthrough they had floating through the air. Jayce proved Viktor right about him being onto something while proving the Council was wrong
“I will say, ‘I knew it all along’” This could be either of them when they become successful because they always believed in the other
“There you'll stand, next to me / All at once, the rest is history” Because they’re partners and everything they accomplished they accomplished together. They literally made history together, changing the world with what they achieved, their inventions a symbol of their love
“I'll be one of the many sayin' ‘Look at you now, look at you now and now’ / I'll be one of the many saying ‘You've made us proud, you've made us proud, proud’” They both were each other’s biggest supporter, especially when they were their only supporter. And they’ll still be the proudest when they’re one among a crowd of adoring believers.
“And when they call your name / And they put your picture in a frame / You know that I'll be there time and again / 'Cause I loved you when, when you / Hit the ground, hit the ground, hit the ground, oh, oh” AAAAA they’ll always be there for each other because they loved and supported each other even at their lowest points I-
There are a lot of other lines in the song and they all fit PERFECTLY but these are my faves.
And then they were happy forever and nothing bad ever happened to them because this is a happy song and we can live forever in this moment and they loved and supported each other for eternity 🎊

arcane spoilers (sort of. not really) and leaks below the cut. I'm just ranting
Tumblr media
I do not understand Riot, I really don't. and by God, I am so afraid. let's dive in
so I really, really, REALLY thought the VGU would be Singed. I was so convinced. I was like "it's def Singed." it's not that his lore is like out of date or TOO badly affected by the Hextech retcons, I just was convinced because his animations and model are sooooo bad and he might be related to Orianna now
NOW THIS ISN'T TO SAY VIKTOR DOESN'T NEED ONE. I am just bitching. I am allowed to bitch. but I was really hoping he wouldn't be the one because with him being changed that's just another nail in the pre-arcane lore coffin. and I do think his pre-arcane lore is pretty interesting! I like the exploration of being robbed of your creation, your sort of baby, by the academic process that favors Piltovans over Zaunites.
also I'm just scared about how they'll change his design. if they get rid of my gf's robot husband I'm killing myself-

Mel being so sweet. Having an adorable habit of painting when she's frustrated. She paints to relax and blow out steam.
Then....there's her boyfriends.
Tumblr media
Jayce, who hammers weapons of mass destruction into existence inside his forge when he's stressed.
Tumblr media
Then Viktor, whose method of stress relief is basically dark magic.
Mel sure knows how to pick 'em.
