"You're worried, I understand, really, but splitting up isn't the best idea." Jack let him go. "Your friends are not weaklings, they will manage without you, and running like an idiot will only waste too much energy, and you will be useless in a possible fight."
Raimundo blinked. He didn't notice that he started walking faster and faster and almost left the genius behind. He rubbed his face with his hand and nodded.
"You're right, I'm sorry... I just don't want anything to happen to them if the enemy attacks."
"Is that why you treated Katnappe so bloodily and sent her to the hospital?" Jack asked after a moment of silence. Raimundo looked at him out of the corner of his eye. "Yeah, I saw the whole situation. Brutal and bloody, which, now that I think about it, was predictable." He snorted and shook his head. "You spent several good years in the company of an old witch, and if she's fucked up as a ghost, who's to say that she's not five times worse with a body..."
"I'm trying to protect people close to me, that's all." He muttered, walking again. "I won't let history come full circle again. Now, when I have my family back, I will defend them at all costs."
"Pursuing the goal over the dead body is not a good option."
Raimundo turned around abruptly, and a violent wind rose around them.
"I didn't kill anyone here!" He growled.

So, last night I re-watched Finding Omi and you know there's so much talk in the Fandom about Chase Young and Omi's mentor-protege relationship, and I get it, it's unique and interesting, even charming in a way.
But I find it interesting that Chase was willing to lose everything, including Omi's loyalty for the chance of adding Kimiko, Raimundo and Clay to his jungle cats army. I mean, Omi is obviously his favorite but he also sees potential in the other monks.
During his first episode, Chase wanted to see them all in action before ultimately choosing Omi for his fighting skills.
Tumblr media
And in "The Evil Within" he knew Clay by name even if they never really interacted before. It seemed to me that he respected him in a way he clearly didn't respect Jack.
Tumblr media
Then I started to wonder what if the monks lost the showdown and joined cat Omi.
Chase could put Raimundo in charge of those weird pterodactyl things, like some sort of airforce. You know, since Raimundo can fly using his wind powers.
Tumblr media
He would force Kimiko to burn entire villages and cities to the ground. Or take advantage of her quick temper until she does it on her own.
Tumblr media
Have Wuya teach Clay how to create his own army of rock monsters.
Tumblr media
It's like a weird Heylin found family AU, featuring the monks, Chase, Wuya and probably Jack since no one can get rid of him.

Have you seen this childhood show: Xiaolin Showdown (2003-2006), United States (English)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Commentary/Context/Memories: No submitted commentary.
[Mod A: I definitely have not heard of this show and my first impression of it is mistaking the big guy in the background for a Mountie haha (He is actually meant to be a Texas cowboy named Clay). This show was meant to be a fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, with an East Asian fight art style and philosophy combined with a Western-style humour and character. Each character is a dragon/dragon in training: Omi (yellow guy and Xiaolin Dragon of Water), Kimiko Tohomiko (the tech girl and Xiaolin Dragon of Fire), Raimundo Pedrosa (self-elected team leader and Xiaolin Dragon of Air) and Clay Bailey (team muscle and Xiaolin Dragon of Earth). Together, they work with Dojo Kanojo Cho (green shapeshifting dragon advisor/mode of transportation) to fight against the antagonist Heylin team and retrieve/protect the Shen Gong Wu (a set of powerful ancient hidden artifacts that only Dojo can really sense in the environment). Each episode ends with a magical duel called Xiaolin Showdown (they said the title of the show!) to decide who gets possession of the Shen Gong Wu. It sounds interesting even I didn’t really watch any martial arts shows growing up!]

Jack had went quiet for a long time. And as of late so did Kimiko and Clay. The two had gone home to visit family for the holiday and haven't came back yet. The monks were starting to worry and the disappearance caught the heylins attention. At first they believed Jack had something to do with it but he was always one to boast about his plans especially if he successfully kidnapped someone.
So, after another ominous text from Kimiko and Clay with vague responses, the monks decided to find them at their families to see what was wrong.
Before they even got to the house something was off. Below them was people, most of them with masks and...large smiles. Booths all around the town said "Don't forget to take your joy!"
Being weirded out, they got to Kimikos house. A dirty truck and a nicer black car was there with Kimikos.
Raimundo had knocked on the door, a terrible feeling in his stomach.
Kimiko answered, a smiled was plastered on her face.
Something was very very wrong.
"Clay! Jack! We have company!!" Kimiko called
Like clockwork the two appeared, large smiles and masks too.
"Come in! Please! Here, before you do" Kimiko took out a pill and handed it to Raimundo, "Take some joy!!"
He gave an odd look, "I'll pass..."
The atmosphere got heavy.
"N...no you have to take it. You're no downer...are you...?" Kimiko asked, insistent on the pill. Behind her, Jack grabbed a bat nearby.
"A downer? Kim it's me. I don't want to take that pill. Is that what you're on??"
"He's a downer..." Jack spoke.
"He is..." Clay added
"They all are..." Kimiko closed her hand. Before the monks spoke another word Kimiko yelled, "DOWNERS!"
She through a punch at Raimundo, pushing him back outside. She, Clay and Jack followed out, not hesitating to try and maim. Jack used the bat an managed a few good swings and before any real harm could be done Dojo took the boys away from their former friends as they kept screaming "downers".

SPLINTERED TIMELINE
Official au introduction post for the fanmade Xiaolin Showdown continuation
I should mention that this will be updated more, and that this is an implied soft rewrite of the show, getting rid of some characterization and plot inconsistencies as well as new lore, not to mention the last few seconds of the show with the ultimate group battle did not actually happen, as it kinda doesnt make sense.
But other than that, we start right where we left off.
-
After over two years, the Xiaolin dragons have finally risen to Shoku Warrior rank. Raimundo, the Dragon of Wind, has been elected leader after the grand adventure in time caused by Omi's meddling. Luckily the timelines all brought themselves back into balance, reset by the paradox it had all caused.
Still, the entire ordeal did not pass without consequences.
The world they live in is the same it once was, but the people of the Xiaolin and Heylin conflict themselves have not avoided the flashes of timelines of what could have been, and what could be, each getting a different array, scrambling to see how they can use the knowledge to their advantage, dreading what the other side may know. It will change everything, but how?
At least Omi and Dojo are the only ones who went through the bad future with Emperor Jack, so they are the only ones with memories of it, right?
Right?
.
.
.
Jack Spicer sits in his lab, reeling at the possible ways his story could have gone and could go, and most of all, the image of a familiar tear-stained face, surrounded by guns, followed by blood blooming in its place etched clearly into his mind.
Everything will change indeed

Omi’s bitten Jack in the ass and Tubbimura on the hand, and Chase has almost bitten Raimundo clean in half at least twice, and I just think that Chase and Omi should both have gotten to bite more people like the feral dragons they are
And Omi bites people regardless of whether he’s Heylin or Xiaolin so you know that good Chase has literally bitten monsters and probably Wuya back in his day long before the reptile monster stuff

I can officially introduce you (and Chase) all to the new Dragons-in-Training in the Heylin!Omi AU!
We’ve got:
Jack: Dragon of Metal
Jermaine: Dragon of Wood
Keiko: Dragon of Lightning (shout out to @godtierwallpaper for letting me use their amazing Keiko design! I had so much fun drawing her!)
Mini fic here:
And, for those interested, a look into where the OG dragons are and where they are going:
Raimundo in this AU is a more competent version of Jack Spicer who shows up a little later in ‘season 1’ and essentially helps Wuya get her body back same as before, only this time he is on the Heylin side for real and doesn’t actually help the Xiaolin side re-capture Wuya. In later ‘seasons’ he is still a very powerful adversary and he is the one with the ‘evil army’.
Kimiko turned down the offer to join the temple, being too focused on her own work and studies where she intends to take the world by fire…aka: take it over using technology she has built and created. She is essentially a catnape kind of character in this AU, though she has ambitions for far far more then just being a tech genius/fashionista. It’s world domination time baby!
Clay is a Jermaine like character in this AU. He is good through and through and the other Dragons do meet him pretty early on and he helps them out with getting his daddy’s Lone Star, but he ain’t ready to leave the ranch or join the temple just yet. He is eventually coaxed out by Guan (the old Dragon of Earth) who essentially does the same thing with Clay as Chase did with Jermaine: tricking him into thinking he is on the side of good and sending him into the temple to cause cracks.

Hey there. Sorry for bringing up an old post of yours since I was scrolling through tumblr on Chase & Omi mentor/protege relationship stuff. I saw your ask replies on favorite scene of Chase and Omi way back, and I could think for me at least why Chase has something personal against Raimundo. During Saving Omi, Raimundo's breakdown in his fight with Heylin!Omi, crying in both desperation and plea for the other to snap out. This short moment was that pivotal moment in making Heylin!Omi hesitating in dealing the finishing blow to Raimundo. And also, Raimundo rashly yet boldly charged towards Chase when the latter insisted Omi would remain here with him, declaring Omi would come home with them... Somehow seems to angered Chase enough to go into his draconic form to bite him off in half. So, there's still a bit of strong animosity hatred between them for what I've seen.
Hey there! My sincere apologies for taking so long! Life called and life takes priority.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Chase had animosity for Raimundo in particular.
In my own opinion, Raimundo isn't a particularly honorable person. That's not to say he has no honor, of course. I have no doubt he'd die to save his loved ones, and he'd die for what's right if that was the only option left.
But beyond that? I think Rai is a deeply flawed young man, just as all the other Xioalin Dragons are, it's part of what makes them interesting. But his flaws lean him more towards morally grey areas. I think it comes naturally for him to put his own interests first, then his loved ones and then what's right.
Him fighting against those instincts is an interesting character plot.
But I think his flaws are what make him both uninteresting and infuriating to Chase.
Raimundo has talent, he's willing to put in the work, he's underhanded and sneaky and a liar and a hypocrite. And he is consistently favored over Omi.
Omi has his own flaws which I won't get into for this post, but he's also a genuinely honorable person. He has a strong work ethic, he is talented and works hard to level his raw talent into unparalleled skill. His loyalty is unquestionable, unlike Raimundo.
And it extends to Raimundo. Even as Raimundo is favored over Omi, unfairly so. (I include the other monks in this as well, because they're all given more priority by Fung than Omi is.)
Omi is neglected and overlooked and passed over by the very people who raised him. Who should care for him more than anything. They put Rai in the spotlight, consistently downplaying Omi and lifting up Rai.
And yet, it's Rai who makes Omi hesitate. It's Rai Omi looks up to the most even as they're rivals. It's Rai that Omi gives his loyalty to, even when not following Rai might actually be better for Omi.
I think that there is a dynamic between Rai and Omi that Chase probably finds very bitter to witness.
So yeah no, I would agree. I think Chase would blatantly be pleased with Raimundo's death, and maybe he even hates Rai as well.
