–Excerpt from Cynthia Nanten's Sinnoh, Johto, and the Sinjoh Ruins.
Transcript:
It is currently believed, due to a combination of stratigraphy and radiocarbon dating, that the Ruins of Alph were built roughly 1,500 years before present day.[6] The Alph Clan who lived in the Temple and its surrounding area spent centuries living alongside the Unown, as the petroglyphs in the ruins document and describe the Pokémon. The Alph Clan used the Unown language independently of the Celestica people, who also used the Unown script, suggesting that the languages are based on the Unown as opposed to the language predating the Unown’s existence.[7]
Several centuries after the establishment of the Temple of Alph, the Alph Clan vacated the area. It is unclear what triggered this migration, but Professor Hiver’s translation of the Ho-Oh room reads “We humans need to walk with them. We leave here for the sake of them”, indicating that the Alph Clan felt that the Unown were threatened in some way.[8] The puzzles left behind at the ruins were thus likely built to keep the Unown safe from outsiders, so that only those dedicated enough to solving the puzzles, or more likely those with the inherited knowledge of how to dismantle the puzzles, would be able to approach them.
Unown have, in Sinjohan texts, been associated with the powers of Arceus.[9] Therefore it is a possibility that the Alph Clan felt a stronger need to protect the potential of their Hidden Power abilities, rather than just for their timid personalities. The translation of the Omanyte room by Professor Hiver, “They possess power to sense with mind and reject outside”, supports this theory.
The Alph Clan travelled north, where they encountered the remaining Celestica people migrating south from Sinnoh. These two cultures together built a temple at Sinjoh incorporating elements from both the Ruins of Alph and the Spear Pillar, in honour of their shared deity Arceus.[10]

I wrote a story for the Potions & Parchment Holiday Prompt Fest 2023 and today is the day it finally got revealed. (Me? Impatient? Don't know what you're talking about... 😅)
When the damaged west wing of Hogwarts takes its toll on the wards, Severus has to realise that there's nothing that can be done about it anymore. The wards will crumble and since he is the Headmaster, they will kill him in the process. Hermione, however, is not ready to give up like that.
It's not as Christmas-y as it probably should have been but eh, it's written by me, what did you expect? 🤪
And now I'll take a look at the other stories, all of the prompts sounded amazing and I need some Snamione Christmas fun... ^^
