Na scynście, na zdrowie, na tyn nowy rok!
Życzę Wam wszystkim tutaj (chociaż jest Was niewielu) takiego nowego roku, żebyście przede wszystkim byli z siebie dumni. Nawet z najmniejszych rzeczy.
I wish you all (although there are very few of you here) that in this new year you will be able to be proud of yourself. Even of the littlest of things.

You've likely heard of the cat-sìth, if only because of FF7, but did you know there's also the cù-sìth (coo-shee)?
This is just a messy daily sketch, maybe one day I'll do a proper piece

I was recently on a trip to Wrocław and I saw panorama of Racławice (recommend👌) but in the picture I saw an unusual thing:
Tumblr media
a highlander in the middle of cracovian peasants. so, I asked my history teacher if that situation would happened. she said no, only the local peasants took part in the Kościuszko Uprising.
so it was just the artists vision. but what could the vision of Wojech Kossak and Jan Styka, a highlander among Cracovians, represent?
in my opinion i think that authors of this picture wanted to show connectivity beetween different poles.
At that time, such an image was very useful for the quarreling nation after the partitions.

While I was walking the shores of Loch Voil near Balquhidder in Scotland I suddenly heared sweet tones of flute music coming from somewhere in the trees…
Curious as I am I decided to follow the music, which sounded like bells and flutes at the same time, to its origin to find out who produces such heavenly sounds.
Silently walking on the path towards the celestial music I stept on a dry branch which snapped with a loud ‘snap!’ and was answered with a small high pitched gasp that caused the music to stop immediately. Looking to my right where the sound came from I only just witnessed a small blue door being pulled shut with a small bang..
I realized I came ‘that’ close to meeting a fairy, or ‘sìthiche’ in Gaelic. I decided to respect her privacy and walked on that day.. But I sure will be returning here and sit near the tree, to hope and see her again… if I can find it again!

Through Mist and Moors: A Clue to Ewan's Disappearance - In the heart of Glenbroch, where rugged hills brushed against the endless sky and ancient legends echoed with every rustle of the wind, a story of camaraderie and resolve unfolded. Ewan, their kindred spirit and an inseparable part of their band, had inexplicably vanished.
His lifelong friends - Hamish, Alistair, and Duncan - traded their jovial conversations and fond memories for a search fraught with tension and uncertainty. Their journey commenced on their tried and true steeds, as seasoned as their friendship and as unwavering as their mutual resolve.
Across three misty days, they navigated the vast green moors, trekked through the whispering woods, their usual hearty banter silenced by growing apprehension. From atop a ridge, their forms hazy in the predawn fog, they surveyed their homeland, their hearts burdened by their missing companion.
On the dawning of the third day, their weary eyes caught a sight in the distance. Through the dense mist, the ancient silhouette of the Standing Stones of Cairngorm emerged. The stones held a cherished place in their shared past; Ewan, intrigued by their mysterious aura, often led them to this place on their childhood escapades. Amidst the foggy distance, a faint glimmer sparked their attention - it seemed strikingly similar to a piece of Ewan's beloved tartan.
As dawn prepared to break, casting the world in a soft, ethereal glow, the trio stood on the ridge, their gaze locked on the distant glimmer amongst the stones. Their hearts filled with a potent mix of hope and concern, they held onto the sight, wondering if they had finally unearthed a clue in their quest for their missing friend.

The Fairy Glen by Rosemarkie on the Black Isle
The Fairy Glen, on the Black Isle, is an enchanting woodland with stunning waterfalls and pools. Not to be confused with the Fairy Glen on the Isle of Skye (see it here). Keeping the Fairies Happy Children used to dress a pool within the glen to keep the fairies happy. Coins are pressed into a dead tree, today for wishes or luck. In older, darker tradition these tree coins were an offering to…

The Baobhan Sith is a faery vampire of the Scottish Highlands. She appears as a beautiful woman in a long green dress that hides her hooves, immediately after a yearning male hunter expresses a desire for female companionship. She seduces then attacks her prey.

i think that we dont talk enough 'bout men's folk costumes, especially about men's folk costume from lachy sądeckie.
the caftan is richly decorated multicolored embroidery, as are the trousers called „błękicie”. the caftan reached to the knees and had brass buttons. the outfit was usually navy blue, but black or brown versions were also often seen.
because lachy sadeckie region is near Tatry there will also be borrowing from higlanders, for example wide embossed belt. as for the headgear, it is a felt hat with usually a red ribbon or little flowers
funfact: sewing trousers can take 300 hours 🪡🧵

The Clootie Well on the Black Isle
Bring your cloots! And let’s go make a wish at the Clootie Well on the Black Isle. The Black Isle The Black Isle is a peninsula near Inverness in The Highlands of Scotland. The towns and villages of the ‘Isle’ boast many excellent museums, hotels and shops. There are castles too, making the quick drive over the Kessock Bridge well worthwhile. Dismantled oil rigs can sometimes be seen on the…
