hey writers we have to talk.
if you've read any romance or fanfic in the past twenty years (i know you have), you know that there are a certain number of scents associated with hot dudes. you can probably recite the list of Things Men in Fic smell like in your sleep: leather, black pepper, pine, sandalwood, "something uniquely him", clean sweat, and if the character has ever fucking been within 50 yards of a firearm, something called "cordite".
here's the thing.
NO ONE SMELLS LIKE CORDITE.
cordite was a highly specific type of smokeless gunpowder developed in the 1890s by england specifically and used mostly in wwi.
if your good-smelling guy is not (a) english (b) using a very specific type of british rifle (c) dying in a trench in flanders, he does not smell like cordite. technically even if he does meet all those conditions he still doesn't smell like cordite because he smells like trenchfoot.
the point is, cordite is so far from universal that no one but the most hardcore gun nerds give a single shit about it. making your Sexy Hero smell like cordite is like naming a cassette-only bootleg live recording from the 1970s as your favorite grateful dead album. everyone at the party hates you immediately and knows you're doing it for clout. also, it's just factually... wrong. please stop. i know everyone else is doing it, but you can do the right thing here, i believe in you.
so what do people who are using guns smell like?
well if your story is set before the late 1880s, the smell of a fired gun is black powder, which, unfortunately, smells like seventeen flatulent cows have been shoved in a tire factory. trust me, you do not want your Hot Dude to smell like black powder. it's b a d.
if your story is set after the late 1880s, guns are using some variety of modern 'smokeless' powder - which speaking broadly doesn't really have a ton of scent when used. it does have some, but it's sort of non-descript: the best way i can describe it is the sweet, ozone, hot-plate smell of popping your car hood with a warm engine.
people who use guns a lot don't smell like fired guns all the time anyway, so while those scents might work in a fight scene, they're not realistic all the time. but there are some things that your Sexy Shootist will smell like basically 24/7 and that's metal and gun oil. metal you can go and sniff (i recommend non-stainless steel), but if you want a reference, most gun oils have a sharp, organic smell that's not dissimilar to canola oil but muskier and with a tang overtop. it's not unlikely leather is in the mix as well due to routine handling of leather equipment and gear. modern gear also tends to have a certain smell although it varies by production country and storage conditions - lots of opportunities there.
in conclusion: gunslingers and hired killers and military folks can be sexy and smell great on page, but i am begging you not to say "cordite" when you mean "gunpowder" ever again. we can do this. we are writers and therefore pedants. i believe in us!

Yandere Lusamine x male s/o

It’s fairly well known amongst employees of the Aether Foundation that the once bubbly and kind personality of their president took a sharp turn for the worst when Lusamine’s husband disappeared several years ago, even to the point of driving her own two children away, which only helped to damage her psyche even more.
Whether it be to find something/someone new to bestow her affections onto, or perhaps to cure a well hidden loneliness, Lusamine eventually began obsessing over something other than Ultra Wormholes and pokémon, that being a man named s/o.
S/o is a nice looking man in his early thirties who used to work for Silph Co. in the Kanto region during his younger years before joining the Aether Foundation due to his love of caring for pokémon.
“Hello Miss Lusamine! My name is s/o, and it’s an honor to be working for you.”
This was what s/o said upon meeting his new boss for the first time after being hired to be her assistant, thus kicking off Lusamine’s obsession.
“Yes! He’s the one! I can tell already that this man is worthy of the love so many seem to throw away! I will make him mine soon enough.”
Aether’s president thinks to herself before turning to s/o and smiling sweetly at him.
“Such good manners. I like that. I look forward to having you by my side s/o.”
She tells him in a tone that both flusters him and unnerves him slightly.
“T-thank you ma’am. I’ll do my best to live up to your expectations.”
“Glad to hear it. Now come along s/o, there’s already work that needs to be done.”
“Yes ma’am!”
Following Lusamine to her office, s/o begins his first day working at the Aether Foundation.
Working for Lusamine was rather strange to s/o.
Despite being his boss, she seemed to be doting and almost…loving to him.
Yet s/o didn’t think much of it, and in fact actually enjoyed it due to developing a crush on Lusamine.
The more time they spent together, the more Lusamine’s unhealthy attraction to s/o grew.
“I can’t hold back anymore! The longer I wait, the more I risk some other woman sinking her claws into my darling s/o! He is the only person deserving of my love, and I will not lose him!”
She tells herself before deciding to confess to s/o first thing in the morning.
“Before we go over our itinerary for the day. There’s something you need to know s/o.”
“W-what is it ma’am?”
He asks in a shaky voice, fearing he’s about to be fired.
“I’ll get straight to the point. I want you to be mine.”
She says with a blank expression, which changes to a small smile once seeing her darling’s flustered expression.
“C-can you repeat that please? I might have misheard you.”
“You heard me just fine s/o. Ever since you’ve started working for me, I’ve become romantically attracted to you. I repeat, will you be mine?”
Not wanting to pass the chance to be with his crush, s/o nods and smiles.
“I’d like that. Honestly, I kinda fell in love with you not long after I became your assistant.
Hearing this brings a great big smile to Lusamine’s face as her heart beats faster, incredibly happy that her darling loves her back.
“Oh s/o! Come here so that I may shower you with my love!”
She pulls him into a bone-crushing embrace and kisses him passionately.
“I’m yours now my love, just as you are mine, and I will never let you go.”
Lusamine whispers into s/o’s ear, thus officially making them a couple.
Unknowingly dating a yandere can be problematic at times because Lusamine very much tries to isolate s/o from his friends, family, and coworkers.
If s/o ever questions her behavior, his girlfriend manipulates him into believing whatever lie she comes up with.
“I’ve heard them say awful things behind your back my love, so it’s best that you cut them out of your life and focus on me. You know I would never treat you badly, unlike those wretched people.”
Due to being incredibly trusting, s/o believes everything Lusamine tells him, much to her glee.
Lusamine gets jealous very easily, and if she sees another woman talking or Arceus forbid flirting with s/o, bad things are about to happen.
While not a murderous kind of yandere, Lusamine has the money and connections to ruin the lives of anyone she deems a threat to her relationship with s/o.
A woman flirted with s/o?
Well, she will soon gets a call from work telling her that she’s fired, and unfortunately for her, no other reputable business or company will be hiring her thanks to Lusamine.
“Hmph! That’s what the harlot gets for messing with what’s mine.”
Lusamine thinks to herself while smiles like a lunatic after receiving the news.
One benefit from being in a relationship with the president of the Aether Foundation is that s/o is constantly showered with gifts, whether it be clothes, jewelry, trinkets, or anything else.
Nothing is too grand or expensive for Lusamine’s darling s/o.
“Honey, I appreciate everything you do for me, but you didn’t have to get me this.”
“Nonsense, you deserve it for being such a loyal and loving boyfriend.”
“But a weeklong stay at a villa in Undella Town? That’s all the way in Unova!”
“Yes, considering it a reward for all your hard work as my assistant. It’s about time you and I take a vacation together don’t you agree?”
Lusamine is also incredibly affectionate with s/o, even in front of her employees.
“Have you seen the way the President acts around her assistant?”
“Yeah, she seems so much happier than before. It’s like Miss Lusamine’s back to her old self again.”
A pair of employees whisper to each other while watching Lusamine cling to s/o with a happy smile on her face while touring the Conservation Area of Aether Paradise.
If s/o has any pokémon under his care, they automatically become Lusamine’s favorite pokémon.
After all, if these pokémon belong to her beloved darling, then they’re worthy of her love as well.
“Look at you. You’re all so beautiful! Much like your trainer, but to a lesser degree of course.”
She tells s/o’s pokémon with adoration in her voice, although they are slightly scared of her due to sensing the crazy vibes of their trainer’s girlfriend.
Because of the age difference between her and s/o, Lusamine often feels insecure about their relationship.
“My darling says he loves me, but what if he meets someone younger! I’m a previously married woman in her 40s with two ungrateful children! Not that I’d ever let him leave me, but what if s/o woke up one day and decided he no longer wants my love?!”
This thought drives Lusamine to the brink of insanity, but luckily s/o reins her in and does his best to reassure his girlfriend, unaware of her darker thoughts.
“I don’t care that you’re older than me, or that you had a family before we got together. I love you Lusamine, and I’m never gonna leave you.”
“D-do you promise?”
She asks him, letting the more innocent and child-like side of her personality shine through.
“Yes. I’d never lie or joke about something like that babe, you know that.”
S/o’s reassurance calms her down quite a bit as she hugs him tightly.
“Thank you my darling s/o. You truly are deserving of all my love and affection, even more so than the rarest pokémon in the world.”
Not long after this, Lusamine asks for her beloved’s hand in marriage one day after having a very romantic evening together, which he happily accepts.
“S/o, the light of my life, will you make me the happiest woman in the world and marry me?”
Before she can even get on one knee and pull out the ring, s/o gets up from the table and nods with a very ecstatic smile on his face, much to her delight.
“Yes! Absolutely! I love you Lusamine!”
He hugs her with happy tears in his eyes as she chuckles and smiles softly with a crazed twinkle in her eyes before speaking.
“I love you too my dear, and once we’re married, our love will be eternal.”
Despite her previous husband and children leaving her (at least in her twisted point of view), Lusamine takes solace in knowing that s/o, the lone person worthy of her immense love, will never abandon her like they did, and if someone foolishly dares try to steal the object of her obsession away, well…
The experiments Lusamine and the Aether Foundation plan on conducting involving Ultra Wormholes will require a few test subjects….whether they’re willing or not.

A Crimson Peak Timeline
(based on the art book, documents shown onscreen in the movie, and the character bios GDT wrote- where the bios don't contradict film canon. I've attempted to combine the two where contradicting elements are unavoidable.
Sometime during the reign of Charles II (1660-1685). Edward Sharpe created Baronet for services to the crown in providing clay for construction projects. Allerdale Hall built in the parish of Above Derwent, Cumberland, England.
1841. Carter Everett Cushing born the second son of six in an impoverished family that traveled the eastern US for his father's masonry business.
1863. Beatrice Alexandra Chetwynde, eldest daughter of a large, wealthy family, marries Baronet James William Sharpe. The marriage is contracted solely for the Chetwyndes' land, which adjoins the Sharpe estate.
April 1, 1865. Lucille Sharpe born.
Sometime between 1865 and ~1873. Carter marries 18-year-old socialite Eleanor Wyndham-Beckford, to the immense disapproval of her family. Though she is disowned and the couple struggles to make ends meet for years, Carter ultimately becomes a successful developer.
February 18, 1867. Thomas Sharpe born.
C. 1867-1872. The Sharpes employ a wet nurse- and later nanny -named Theresa, who would become the only adult to care about the children in their lives. She would ultimately be sacked after Beatrice caught young Lucille snuggling with her for warmth on a winter's night (on the grounds that a noble child should not be close with servants- a "crime" for which Lucille was beaten severely).
1876. 11-year-old Lucille murders her father with poison distilled from mine tailings, after he took Thomas on a hunting trip and left him in the woods to die of exposure.
Late 1876? A mining vein near Allerdale Hall collapses, killing several child mine-workers. I could have sworn I read somewhere that James foolishly dug a mining tunnel under the house shortly before his death, and that's what destabilized it, but I can't find it now.
October 9, 1877. Edith M. Cushing born, after Eleanor had suffered several miscarriages.
1878. Thomas and Lucille begin a secret sexual relationship.
Early August, 1879. Beatrice catches Lucille and Thomas together; Lucille murders her to keep their secret. The siblings try to run away together but are caught and brought back. Thomas is sent to live with an aunt and uncle in Whitehaven (who in turn send him to boarding school), while Lucille is forced into a mental institution.
Probably summer, 1885. Thomas finishes his schooling and rescues Lucille; they return to Allerdale.
1887. The Sharpe siblings travel to London seeking investors for Thomas' venture to reopen the mines. A wealthy, terminally ill gentleman, Major Richard Upton, takes a liking to Thomas and begs Thomas to marry his disabled daughter, Pamela. At Lucille's urging- since they're running out of both options and money -Thomas agrees. The two attempt to poison Pamela to death, but Lucille ends up strangling her instead.
Sometime between October 1887 and October 1888. Eleanor Cushing dies of cholera and appears to Edith as a ghost.
Early-mid 1890s. Carter and the recently widowed Mrs. McMichael have a brief flirtation that both Edith and Eunice oppose. Though it goes nowhere, the rift between the two girls is never healed.
Late October or November 1892. Edith (age 15) becomes infatuated with a 25-year-old poet who is having marital difficulties. After convincing Carter to hire him as a tutor, all unknowing, she confesses her feelings to him. He not only takes his leave of the Cushing family, but of Buffalo itself, quickly moving away with his wife and children.
1893. The Sharpes travel to Edinbrugh, where Thomas again finds no investors but does attract the attention of a 36-year-old widow of means, Margaret McDermott. Once again, he marries her and helps Lucille poison her, though she is ultimately killed via blunt force trauma.
Summer 1893. Edith asks her best friend, Alan McMichael, to kiss her so she can write about kisses more accurately. It means nothing to her, but sparks an unrequited passion in Alan
1896. Lucille falls pregnant by Thomas. He travels with her to Italy, which he loves and she despises. There he meets a wealthy woman named Enola Sciotti, widowed and bereaved of her only child, and decides of his own accord to marry and murder her in their usual fashion. The Sharpes and Enola return to Allerdale.
1897. Lucille is delivered of a son, who may or may not be sickly. Enola tries to care for her and the child, promising she can save him. The baby either dies of natural causes or Lucille smothers him under the conviction that his cries mean something is terribly wrong with him and he can't live- this is one contradiction in the bios vs. the movie that I prefer to leave vague, since it's possible not even Lucille remembers what happened. Either way, she blames Enola and dispatches her by unknown means. Thomas patents his excavating machine.
Late summer(?) 1901. Alan returns from studying medicine in London and sets up an ophthalmology practice in Buffalo. Edith's debut novel, Figures In The Mist, is rejected for publication by Oglivie and Sons. Thomas seeks investment in the mines from Cushing and Co., unsuccessfully. Edith and the Sharpes begin a friendship. Edith sees her mother's ghost for the second time.
September 14, 1901. President William McKinley dies after being shot at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo. I include this because the fact that the movie doesn't is hilarious to me.
October 21, 1901. At the Cushings' dinner party, Carter bribes the Sharpes to leave, instructing Thomas to break Edith's heart or he'll tell her about the marriage to Pamela. A deleted scene reveals that he was on the verge of relenting and investing in the mines when he read the private investigator's report.
October 22, 1901. Lucille murders Carter at his club, then departs to return to England. Thomas and Edith become engaged.
Late October-early November 1901. Thomas and Edith are married and travel to Allerdale.
November-December 1901 (possibly into early 1902?). The rest of the movie's plot.

Theory Time: From Prince to Pauper
Stolas had been entirely stripped of his hierarchical status, leaving him with nothing but his first name and the clothes on his back. Once a prominent member of the Ars Goetia, he no longer holds the title, rank, or any of the privileges associated with his noble lineage. This dramatic fall from grace has left him vulnerable, both politically and personally, as he navigates a world that once revered him but now sees him as little more than a name. Stripped of power, resources, and influence, Stolas must rely solely on his wits, resilience, and whatever relationships he has left to survive in a society that no longer recognizes his authority. His loss of status marks not only a personal crisis but also a potential shift in the power dynamics of Hell itself.
So that actually means two (possibly three) things are going to happen:
1. Accomodation
The shift from “breakup” to “roommate” (until stated otherwise in the next episode) between Stolas and Blitz creates a dynamic ripe with tension and character growth. Forced cohabitation — perhaps due to Stolas’s financial struggles or need for stability until the former finds a job— pushes them to navigate shared space, unresolved feelings, and awkward new boundaries. Stolas seeking a job could symbolize his attempt at self-reliance and personal growth, adding humor or poignancy, depending on the role he takes on. This transitional phase sets the stage for deeper exploration of their relationship, as they confront their past while carving out a path forward, whether together or apart.
2. Provisions
Imagine this . . .
BLITZ HIRES STOLAS TO WORK AT I.M.P !
Just think about it!!! This could be wild. While Stolas might not fit the profile of a sharp-shooting assassin, there’s plenty of room for his contribution in another way. Perhaps he becomes the team’s accountant, someone who manages the financial chaos of I.M.P., keeping their books balanced while providing an extra layer of aristocratic flair to the office dynamics.
The very idea is packed with potential for hilarity and emotional growth. Stolas, usually perched in his palace, now navigating office politics, paperwork, and Loona’s snark while trying to feel “useful” and “valued” among the group—it’s a recipe for comedy and character development. Maybe Stolas, with his vast infernal knowledge, could even provide intel or magical guidance for missions, giving I.M.P. an edge they never anticipated.
This dynamic would also be rife with conflict and camaraderie. Blitz, always the reluctant softie, might hire Stolas out of pity, guilt, or even begrudging affection, setting the stage for plenty of awkward yet heartfelt moments. And just imagine Moxxie’s incredulous face when he realizes their newest hire is the Prince of Hell—working as their accountant.
3. Companionship
For Stolas whilst it fulfills a deep psychological need for connection, offering more than just emotional comfort—it reinforces our sense of identity, purpose, and belonging. When lacking meaningful relationships, loneliness can trigger stress responses that affect both mind and body, leading to depression, anxiety, and even physical ailments like weakened immunity or heart disease. His relationships can provide a space for mutual support, shared experiences, and growth, creating a buffer against life’s challenges.
Loona:

The episode’s ending sets the stage for intriguing character development, particularly between Stolas and Loona. With Stolas now staying at Blitz’s home, there’s ample opportunity for the two to interact beyond their usual, more distant exchanges. Loona, who often keeps her guard up, might find herself in situations where Stolas’ patience and sincerity could gradually break through her tough exterior. Similarly, Stolas, who has shown a knack for connecting with others on an emotional level, may begin to understand Loona better and recognize the vulnerabilities she hides beneath her brash demeanor.
If Blitz and Stolas continue to deepen their relationship, Loona could find herself spending more time with Stolas, which might open the door for a pseudo father-daughter bond to form (especially since he cannot interact with his own biological daughter for the next 100 years until he can see her again) . Given Stolas’ gentle nature and his experiences with his own daughter, Octavia, he might inadvertently offer Loona the kind of emotional support she rarely seeks but deeply needs. For Loona, who has a complicated relationship with vulnerability and affection, this could mark the beginning of personal growth, as she learns to accept the care and stability that Stolas might offer.
While a fully realized bond between them may not materialize immediately, the seeds could be planted as early as Season 3. Loona and Stolas, though vastly different in personality, share an underlying thread of loneliness that could serve as common ground. Moments of subtle warmth, shared understanding, or even comedic clashes might pave the way for a more heartfelt connection. Their evolving relationship has the potential to not only enrich their individual arcs but also add an emotionally resonant layer to the overarching story.
Vassago:

While it’s true that both Vassago and Stolas are gay, that doesn’t inherently mean they’re destined to be romantically involved. Vassago gives off more of a “gay best friend” vibe—a confidant who shares tea, biscuits, and witty gossip with Stolas, rather than a potential love interest. Their interactions could represent a bond between two gay individuals without veering into romance, offering a refreshing portrayal of queer camaraderie.
At this stage in the narrative, the groundwork for Stolitz is too deeply rooted to backpedal. Stolas pursuing another romantic interest would likely derail the emotional investment built between him and Blitz unless some major plot twist occurs before the holiday-themed “Sinmas” episode. However, all signs currently point to Stolitz being endgame, with minimal room for deviations.
Octavia:

Time in Hell seems to work differently from Earth, so the 100-year punishment Stolas received might not be as long as it initially sounds. It could equate to only a month or so in Earth time, which would explain how events are progressing relatively quickly in the story. Given that Stolas was described as “demon royalty” and “Your life has life has actual worth” at the time of his sentencing, it’s also possible his punishment was more lenient, aside from the banishment itself. This opens up the possibility that the length of his sentence was intentionally designed to be shorter or less impactful — cuz we all know Satan is 95% of the time nothing but full shit lol. If the timeline in Helluva Boss aligns with the real-world pacing of episodes, Stolas may already be nearing the end of his sentence when the next episode begins. (possibly, if I’m right about this, knowing that Viv finds clever ways to stay on track with the story, even with timely gaps in between such as this theory)
The real heart of the theory lies in Stolas’s relationships and how companionship shapes his story. The teaser for the next episode shows Octavia confronting him, accusing, “You don’t love Mama. You don’t love me. You love HIM.” This suggests she still cares deeply about him despite her anger, and their bond hasn’t fully broken. Whether this scene follows a timeskip where Stolas’s sentence has ended, or if Octavia has — yet again — run away to visit him mid-punishment, or whether he heard about it similar to what happened in Seeing Stars or however it’s played out — the core focus remains on their connection. The narrative seems poised to explore the tension between their estranged bond and Stolas’s evolving relationship with Blitz. This companionship, both lost and found, may ultimately be what drives the story forward, no matter how the timeline unfolds.

Timeline (1985 - 2002): Wren is the heiress to the Worthington Airlines travel empire. Her grandfather Warren aided in the war effort along the likes of Howard Stark, but exited defense after the war to pursue commercial travel. Under his son's ownership, Worthington Airlines became one of the biggest luxury airlines in the world. Warren Jr was so dead-set on continuing the family name that he had no other names planned but Warren III. When the baby turned out to be a girl, Wren's name was a suggestion from her mother after her birth.
Wren was an energetic child, which prompted her parents to sign her up for extracurriculars after her excitability became too much of a nuisance to both them and the family house staff. Athletics and pagentry were the two most noteworthy ventures, and the former being one Wren held in high regard all through childhood. Wren has often compared it to her wings: It's something wholly her own, and is only limited by her own applications. By adolescence, Wren was enrolled into the Massachusetts Academy. She was pressured by her parents to involve herself with the Hellions, a school clique made up of children of Hellfire Club members such as herself. Wren maintained a minimal association with the Hellions, preferring the company of the school jocks. Wren became a prized track and field star while at the Academy, and by the time she was sixteen she and her parents were routinely speaking with college and Olympic scouts.
Timeline (2002): Around her eighteenth birthday, however, when Wren's mutant traits began to develop. It reportedly started off as cramps and strains in her shoulders, then visible bruises that grew all over her upper back. Wren eventually awoke in the middle of the night from a sharp pain and discovered nubs growing out from the bruises. Wren's family was already in the area to pick her up for holiday, and Wren's father refused to send her to a hospital for alleged concern over unwanted attention on the family, and instead hired two specialists to meet with them in the Worthington winter cabin up in the Adirondack Mountains for personal treatment.
One of those specialists was none other than the Professor. Even in the short drive from the city to update, Wren's mutation was rapidly growing. By the time he has arrived, her wings had fully grown, feathers and all. Though her parents were distressed, once the pain and shock of her growing wings faded Wren was reportedly elated with her changes. The Professor has said that his and Wren's earliest exchanges mostly occurred telepathically, as Wren opted to spend winter break soaring across the area rather than he around her parents.
On the last day of holiday, Week checked her phone to find a series of voicemails from a school friend, Amanda Cobb. Amanda had confided to Wren in a moment of great distress over being abused by a coach at the Academy (Weeks earlier, Amanda had walked in on Wren inspecting the bruises along her back and assumed she was being abused by the coach as well). This revelation threw Wren into a blind rage, putting her abilities to the limit by flying uninterrupted from Adirondack to Massachusetts in little under an hour. Wren hauled the coach high into the sky and let him plummet back down. By all accounts, it was only through the Professor's psychic intervention that Wren was restrained from letting the coach crash back down to Earth. It was certainly enough to coerce the him to confess his crimes.
Timeline (2003): By the time classes resumed at the Academy, the school was so swept up in scandal that Wren's wings barely registered to most. The school board did request that Wren conceal them out of concern of "distracting" other students, to which she begrudgingly complied. To Wren's astonishment, the Hellions accepted her with open arms, revealing that they were all mutants themselves. Wren took every opportunity to abstain from the Academy grounds and finish her education through the Professor's personal tutoring, though she kept tabs with the Hellions, both out of the Professor's request and Wren's own curiosity.
Integrating with the rest of the group, Wren quickly took it upon herself to become the leader, something I didn't object to at the time. She had a far more blunt and proactive personality than I did at the time, and her background made her far better at working crowds and being a public figure than I was. At the time, Wren was also the only one of us who was an open mutant, and to her credit she took jer newfound duties as a mutant activist very seriously. This is best exemplified when Wren swooped to Bobby's defense when his own powers briefly put him in legal trouble.
Where Wren did display hesitance was when we all set out to intervene at Santo Marco. Not because she objected to us intervening, but because she recognized how her usual tactics not suit such a sensitive situation. Over the course of that mission, our group dynamic was forced to shift and adapt, and by the end congealed into the X-Men that people would come to know later that year. Wren continued to be the face of the group, but tactical duties had effectively fallen upon me.

-Superior Strength: Show them who’s boss. Quad Smack’s strength is second to none. He can easily lift objects many times his size, and can destroy his opponents with just a few swings. However, his immense size makes him slow and clumsy, and he expends a lot of energy whenever he fights.
-Fantastic Durability: You’re hard, so make them know it. Quad Smack’s incredibly thick skin and muscles can absorb extreme amounts punishment, and he is easily one of Kevin’s most durable aliens. His ankles and joints are weak to damage if struck in the right place however, and his hide is weak to acid.
-Multiple Arms: More hands, more fools to put down. Like all Tetramands, Quad Smack carries a secondary set of arms which increases his versatility and offensive capabilities.
-Steroid Injector: To survive, you need every edge you can get. Grafted into Quad Smack’s spine and arms is an experimental steroid injector. The chemical cocktail it contains increases his lacking speed and agility, but sends him into a bloodthirsty rage. The steroid also has a chance to inflict detrimental side effects.
Physical Description: Qilla is less a mountain and more a hill, in that his powerful physique is hidden by a doughy exterior. His head is oblong shaped, ending in a very sharp and thick jaw. Of his four eyes, one has been scratched out. His stomach is noticeably round, and his thick chest barrels outwards to create a very imposing figure. His heavy shoulders slope down to his massive twin set of arms, with sharpened spines protruding from each elbow. Qilla’s legs are stocky and powered by a thick rear, and powerful feet give him a powerful, stomping stride when he moves. He wears a black tank top/tunic combo and a pair of black leggings. His shoulders and joints are protected by black metal armor. His skin is a faded, dark purple which lightens on his chest. The Antitrix symbol is located on his right pectoral.
Backstory: Life isn’t fair. Not for the Tetramands, not for anyone in the Antiverse. To Qilla, the only way to get through life is to have a crueler reputation than your neighbors. Hundreds of years ago, the Tetramands were once a race of proud warriors much like in the Prime Universe, revered as symbols of strength and primal might. One day however, Khoros was decimated by a series of asteroid strikes, killing millions. The survivor’s became refugees, settling on a barren moon orbiting Chimera. Much of their culture was lost in the interim and with it many role models for developing Tetramands, thus the more cunning and cruel warriors took on the mantle of leadership.
The once proud Tetramands regressed into savage thugs for hire. Qilla was born to a people that now sought strength through fear and reputation. His clan became infamous for selling weapons and narcotics across the galaxy, and as he grew Qilla was brought up to view reputation as the most important goal in life… and that no one should ever get in the way. When his father died in a war with a rival clan, Qilla set out to build his reputation. He garnered infamy as a hired thug and spent years working for warlords and other criminal organizations. The bigger job, the greater the glory. His reputation became so great, he was secretly asked to work for a warlord who promised all he could ever dream of. Qilla didn’t care who this punk was, as long as more people remembered his name…
Personality: Qilla is a vacuous and fame obsessed brute. His short fuse and natural inclination to savagery create a scary individual to face, not helped by his skill at applying physical violence. Qilla’s lust for recognition and glory are rooted in an impulsive need to create a legacy for himself. He’s got a reputation to uphold, and he’ll crush anyone who dares challenge it.

Where did curlines come from and how did they evolve?
@maxwellatoms Maybe you'll understand even better why Mandy wanted custody of the grim reaper, why she almost never smiles, why she hates humanity, why her hair is shaped like literal demon horns, why she often walks in the dark, and why she doesn't have nose.
About 40 million years ago, there the ancestor of the Carnivora family tree split into three distinctive groups… The Caniforms… The Feliforms… And the Calviforms. Of the three groups, the Calviforms were the least successful. Most of the Calivforms eventually went extinct, due to their hostile environments, fierce competition, and limited diets, being strictly carnivores.
However, there was one Calviform group that survived by adapting to a more omnivorous diet and began developing advanced ways of communicating through a series of barks, roars, and growls, much like the Pokémon Houndour, but far more complex. These were the ancestors of the curlines. Over a few more million years, mutations in their DNA caused the ancestors of these curlines to split into two distinct groups… The ones that kept their facial fur… And the ones who lost it. The former group most likely went extinct for unknown reasons, while the latter continued to evolve and thrive.
The ancestors of the furless-faced curlines historically had very strong senses of smell, but it weakened over time, due to them losing their rhinarium (wet nose). Instead of using a wet nose to help them detect scents, they developed tiny, specialized nostril hairs to do so. As a few more million years continue to pass, their elongated snouts begin to shrink in size. Nowadays, most curlines don't even have a visible snout, and only possess a tiny pair of nostrils as part of their visible olfactory system, giving them a noseless appearance.
The first proto-curlines had fairly sharp teeth, that further dulled and flattened as they began to consume more foliage, flowers, and citrus fruits as part of their diet. As a result of consuming fruits rich in Vitamin C, their bodies stopped producing it en masse. Today, curlines are the only animals under the Carnivora order that are completely unable to produce Vitamin C, much like humans. Their teeth are also very human-like in appearance, with their back molars being slightly more pointy and sharp and their fangs slightly longer. They also developed specialized thin lips around their mouths that mimic human lips for some odd reason as well.
The fur on top of the heads of curlines shaped like demon horns is also a bizarre phenomenon that developed as they evolved, giving them a devilish appearance. These "hair horns" were not present in their ancestors and may have developed or grew this way due to either diet, how they fought in combat, using headbutts, or a combination of the two. Scientists are still not 100% sure. They are not bony like deer or moose antlers and are instead part of a strange hair growth pattern. The "hair horns" are harder than the rest of the fur on their body, but can still be brushed down. However, this does not stop them from forming and growing back into that shape. Specialized keratin excreted from the tips of hair roots at the base of their skulls is how their head fur grows this way.
As curlines evolved, they became much more intelligent. Even smarter than most of the average humans. Humans saw these talking quadrupeds as a threat to their intelligence arms race, so they hired the grim reaper to kill hordes of them, keeping their populations small and in check. The earliest recorded instance of the sight of the grim reaper slaughtering curlines was around the first Crusades period. As the curline populations dwindled, they were forced to flee and build their own civilizations deep underground away from humanity. As the centuries passed, they developed technology that was seemingly far more advanced at the time at the dawn of the human Industrial Revolution. With this advanced technology, they slowed down the encounters with the grim reaper and only the stupidest curlines ended up getting slaughtered by him as a result.
Today, curlines are fully capable of mimicking human speech and walking on two legs, even though they very rarely do the latter. However, they are very bad at mimicking the emotion of human happiness. Most curlines are not able to emote happiness the way humans do, by smiling and laughing. However, despite most of them not able to smile properly or laugh, they do experience the emotion internally. A curline can smile, but almost none of them can laugh. This is why curlines are almost never seen smiling, as it isn't an emotion that they normally express. While most other super intelligent non-human species have successfully mastered smiling and laughing to the point where they do it all the time, curlines have not, with very few exceptions.
