sisyphus. i imagine he's a very jovial man.
heavily based on his phase 2 design. it's a bit too human for my taste but i didn't know what else to do lol
also gave him a full head of hair because i want to. i haven't drawn dreadlocks in a while i miss it and i need to practice.

came to The Acolyte for Abigail Thorn, stayed for the intriguing plot, characters, and the eventually doomed-by-the-narrative Jedi Order.
I was putting off watching it to catch up on other things, but then my brother had called me this morning to ask me about it (he hasn't seen it yet either) and share the Discourse(tm) he's heard about the Force nonsense. So that piqued my interest enough to tip the scales.
Amandla is amazing as the twins with very different personalities and mannerisms. 10/10. Yes, I cannot believe we are getting so many OSHA violation jokes baked into a character.
I read that Lee Jung-jae wanted to channel Qui Gon energy for Sol and I absolutely feel it. Sol is a new addition to favorite Jedi.
Having grown up watching the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I feel like the vibe of this and the story it's telling so far fits well within what's been established, especially with Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the variety of perspectives we got to see from cultures across the galaxy during the clone war, and how the Republic and the Jedi clearly overlooked a lot more than just the Sith's emergence in the leadup to the war.
Definitely enjoying the kind of story that The Acolyte is weaving so far, although still holding out to see the rest. The Acolyte could still fall prey to the compressed narrative that plenty other streaming shows have in the last few years.

Bistrot Jurer
13 → Favorite Location (Main Base) - Super Sentai
Bistro Jurer
A French bistro owned by Kogure, that is the base for the Lupinrangers. The bistro is used as a front for the Lupins while they search for pieces of the Lupin Collection. The Lupins also use their positions at the bistro to gain intel from the Patrangers, who frequent the bistro.
The Yard
A small area behind the bistro. The area is mainly utilized in two heavier scenes, in which Kairi's resolves are called into question. One point is to question his resolve regarding doing anything in order to retrieve a piece of the Lupin Collection even at Touma's expense. The other point is when Kairi shows how his relationship with Keiichiro is making it more difficult for him to keep a clear head and focus on his goal.
The Kitchen
Located off the main floor, in view of customers. The kitchen is basically Touma's space as he is the one tasked to do all the cooking.Touma was a chef at a top restaurant prior to the mass disappearances, and is shown to find joy in cooking, even though he claims otherwise.
Dressing Room
A room in the bistro where the Lupinrangers change into their Lupin outfits before following leads about the Lupin Collection.
Kairi’s Room
A nearly empty room upstairs. The room has few personal items, having only a photo of Kairi and his brother to indicate that it is his room. The lack of personal items aligns with Kairi not feeling that he has a home and shows how the Lupins must be ready to flee at any time.
Dining Area
Located on the main floor, this is the area seen most frequently. The Lupins serve their customers here and discuss their plans as Lupinrangers after closing. When open, Umika is in this area most, as Touma spends most of his time in the kitchen and Kairi sneaks out whenever he can.
The dining area is also where the Patrangers frequently interact with the Lupins
unknowingly. It is due to the growing relations with the Patrangers at the bistro, and even expanding outside, that the Lupins struggle throughout the series and most memorably in the final arc. An important thing to note is that Umika and Touma are shown to think of the bistro as their home, while Kairi does not. In the end, Umika seems to have the strongest attachment to the bistro and the memories made there.

band doing an impromptu performance at the park played a really good set tonight, absolutely loved it. one of the best free shows i've had the pleasure of stumbling into. asked them what their name was and they actually spelled it wrong, which made them really hard to track down but i finally found their instagram after googling enough variants of it 👍👍 thank you to the band member who mentioned a double underscore in a social media handle, without that i fear i would have never tracked these guys down again

it annoys me so much that people are still ignoring that eadweard muybridge filmed the first kiss. search it up. all of the articles have disinformation about it, like citing a later kiss in the 1890s, or are saying, oh, eadweard muybridge maybe filmed the first queer kiss. it is never properly brought up, despite it being first by almost a decade, because people do not want to admit lesbians could've had the first kiss on film. it's so clearly homophobic, I do not see a good reason to still spread disinformation about this. the film was discovered in 2011 (I think), it has been a decade. why is Edison's kiss still cited so often as the first? why are writers continually dodging this film yet praising his earlier film of the horse in motion? if horse in motion is a film, then why is the kiss suddenly not? do you need more frames so your straight people can win? seriously.
