IWTV S2 Ep7 Musings - Loustat Ep5 Revisited (Spoilers)

I decided to do this one first, cuz I have the least to say about it.

It was pretty clear cut and showed exactly what I expected/hoped it would: CONFIRMATION ON EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN S1--

THE FIGHT WASN'T RETCONNED AT ALL. 😤👏

Diabolical frame, cuz it's pretty much like, Welp, you're here in Europe, after I distinctly told y'all the European vampires were vicious and not to come here! VOILA! 😬

And I love how his back is to the audience, cuz this bit REALLY isn't about the performance--this is Lestat venting, talking right to Louis, even though he's clearly having difficulty meeting his gaze.

Mild way to put it, but wtvr.

There's that word again: "compromise," which Lestat blamed Louis for leading to "spite--" both Claudia's, AND Lestat's own spite towards THEM. Cuz Lestat was constantly holding back; "fought my nature, controlled my temper."

I like how S1 focused on the blows Lestat dealt to Louis, as it was from his & Claudia's perspective; but now we're seeing more of the blows Louis dealt to Lestat as he gives his perspective. But it still shows that although Louis' fighting, he's still on the defense, cuz Lestat is often just LETTING Louis hit him--LOUIS can't AFFORD to just LET Lestat hit him, cuz "mighty...most ancient blood...godlike strength" Les will REALLY injure him whenever he does! This is NOT an even fight, even if the perspectives are now more evenly shown.

Exactly! You wanna KILL Louis!? But Lou, don't get cocky now; Les is LETTING you do all this to him, cuz he knows if he gets serious that's your behind. 😬

Very extravagant and expensive gift...

He said something about the flower being as beautiful as dnagerous, just like Veronica (i dont remember the exact quote lol). Because during the battle at the duel Veronica was able to notice his weak spot on his neck and was attacking him furiously there, so he probably thought of her as a dangerous oponent (he didnt know she was almost out of blood points and probably wouldnt last long unless Charlie hasn't unleashed the demon from the sword he had but shhh)

Veronica wasn't fan of him or his gift and didn't want to see his face at all but she accepted a gift anyway, because if this man was to become Rene's new buisness partner, she didn't want to make things worse

Love Wasuke just accepting his new grand baby. Like, yah, this is my grandson Sukuna he just showed up one day anyway, moving on. This was such a cute story. I'd read ten more chapters of itadori family adventures 💕 💖 💗. Love Wasuke noticing that Sukuna loves praise. He's had this boy for like a week, and he's already parenting him. Give him some tasks to build up his self-esteem, then trust him to keep his twin out of trouble. Obviously he's not going to keep himself out of trouble but he's clearly capable of dealing with whatever comes his way. Ya know it's kinda cute to see where Yuuji gets his radical acceptance from. Wasuke saw that boy who was clearly surrounded by dark power and older than he should be and he just decided to love him. What a guy. Ohh man this cruise ship is going to be so chaotic once the sorcerers meet the itadoris. I love the idea of gojo meeting Sukuna and trying to figure out what's going on there only to be stopped by Wasuke telling him to leave his grandson alone. I just feel like there could be a whole comedy there with Gojo being his annoying fun self and pestering Wasuke. Gojo would probably be delighted to meet an elder who doesn't suck tbh. I wonder if the other sorcerer kids would make friends with Yuuji or if Sukuna and Uraume would try to keep them away? Would the kids fill Wasuke on the supernatural side of things or would they keep it from him to try and spare him while he pretends not to know? Ahh man there's like endless potential here. I love Wasuke's perspective so much but I really want to know what happened with Yuuji and Sukuna. How did Yuuji convince Sukuna to join his family? Did the sorcerers know about Sukuna and Yuuji beforehand and get on the cruise to keep an eye on them or is it a cosmic coincidence. If it was on purpose that's pretty smart make a deal to get the king of curses far away from the mainland and on a ship where you can keep an eye on him. If it was a coincidence did Gojo just decide to take the kids out on a fun vacation for the hell of it? Ahh this one has so many fun possibilities to think about. I'm delighted thanks for writing and sharing with us!!

hi! this is mpreg anon from a few months back lol. i just wanted to say i finally got to reading the fic and im sooo!!!!! sobbing and crying, a puddle of love on the floor! you were right. i Know now why you talked about it often.

i really love holly's stankyle. theres something about them that feels very.. desperate? like they know they belong together and sometimes not even physical touch can satiate that need/want?? idk! but agh! i love them sm. holly is also really good at capturing the overall weirdness of south park and thats why she can come up with aus/ideas that are weird or silly and make them work. i also really appreciate that she went for kinks/tropes that not many people give style.

something else i really loved about this fic was that it felt very like.. omg a dream come true in a way? sometimes i just wanna read a fic where stan and kyle do fuck all all day, just real type of normal maybe even domestic shit and its just them. and this fic came pretty close to that? they are so wrapped up in each other and have so much love to give and g OD i thought the baby was gonna come in and ruin that or like i was gonna get annoyed w the baby but no!!! 😭 i was so neutral about elway in the beginning and was actually loving how kyle was thinking/approaching the whole thing. idek when that started changing?? before they talk about the name elway though. and when she was finally born and the days kyle spent fighting to get her?!! and then he gets her and its the three of them and its like.. yeah.. okay, she's perfect. she really is a miracle stan and kyle created and theres no way she could ever come between them bc stan and kyle's love is endless, its forever and ever, they can share that love with their child 🤧

as for creek, hmm. i think craig and tweek just arent characters i've seen holly write for and like? so even though they are/were together i just didnt rly care for them u_u. im really glad i started finally reading fic where theyre not together in style fics though. it still hurts a bit lmao but ive been enjoying some stories i had passed on before and stuff and yeah, ty for giving me that little push >w<!!!

YOU HAVE NOOOO IDEA HOW HAPPY I AM THAT YOU READ THE FIC AND SENT ME THIS AMAZING ASK??? I saw this in my inbox and immediately went to my friends and like BRAGGED ABOUT GETTING THIS? I'm going to respond to every part so bear with me but in the meantime THANK YOU!!!

I think you are so so right about them being desperate... it is key for stanky that regardless of how close they get physically, it's like it'll never be enough? Like they are soulmates in every sense of the word, and can never actually satiate their pull... SIGH!!!! IT'S TRUE!!! And holly's ability to nail absurdity is absolutely one of her strongest suits, and something that definitely contributed to how iconic she is. South Park is an absurd show, and holly meets it with such absurdity that Stan and Kyle can stay perfectly in character, because so many of her plots are something that could legitimately BE a South Park episode involving the characters when they're older. Like, Craig and Clyde fucking in the Marsh shed and Craig telling Sheila Kyle needs a psych eval? A+, can and will happen at some point. It's so ridiculous yet somehow believable, and the mpreg fic is literally the BEST example of it. It's a concept that's frankly a huge turnoff for a lot of people (understandably), but she puts it in such a light that she makes it appealing for a ton of people. It's one of those fics that i would recommend even to the most vehement mpreg hater, because there IS something about it that differentiates it from typical fics like that.

AND DESCRIBING IT AS A DREAM COME TRUE IS SO CORRECT? Everything you said in that third paragraph specifically was so fucking real. The fic starts off as such an absolute disaster situation, and despite the multiple disasters along the way, you can absolutely tell that it was like fate in a way? Holly does an incredible job of balancing the understandable stress with the joy and all the happy moments, as well as acknowledging the fact that in the end, Elway seriously did enrich both of their lives. I LOVE THAT YOU POINTED OUT HOW YOU WERE WORRIED ABOUT THE BABY COMING BETWEEN THEM... because it's true!!! It's such a real concern, but she is so good about wrapping it up; the scenes after Kyle gets Elway feel like a dream sequence in how floaty and happy everyone is, and while reading it I was like (as someone who does not want kids), huh. Maybe I need to have a baby? LOLL but seriously you are so right. It IS endless and now they have even more love to go around because of Elway... whatever. WHATEVER!! I'm not even crying. I'm NORMAL!!!!

I totally get your feelings about creek!! I ended up feeling kind of similarly. I'm happy you started expanding your horizons!!! There's nothing wrong with sticking with exclusively creek fic, obv, but there are some real gems out there if you're able to push some of the icks to the side. And maybe you'll even figure out a new ship you like? I remember that I was afraid to read Other People's Tupperware at first because Tweek is literally dead, and Craig hooks up with Kenny? But then I decided to read it (and felt neutral about it!) and it was valuable to me. And then when I read it a few years later, I really loved it. It got me thinking that first time!!! I'M HAPPY I COULD HELP GIVE YOU THAT PUSH!!!

Talking about holly (or any other fic) to me will NEVER bother me so pls feel free to do so!!!! I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE EPILOGUE!! It is sweet and so delightful. AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN EVER GIVE YOU ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS!!

Benji - Beefy older man with a great sense of humor, solid income, two grown kids, AND health benefits? Fuck buddies at minimum don’t try to marry him though he’s in love with someone else and you won’t be successful.

Effie - If this is before Temperance, it is very much worth it to start up a friends with benefits situation with this valley girl type lesbian. As long as you can handle her A Whole Lot personality for more than an hour at a time. Strap game is immaculate, and she kisses like it’s the last time everytime. Gives great head.

Lonan - He is so incredibly demisexual it’s sort of hilarious, but once he gets there? Insatiable, willing to experiment, will do actual research on how to please you. Not in the marry section though because his wizard book has a whole lotta sass about literally everything and he’s such a recluse you’d never see people again.  

Mantis - Best one night stand. Strong enough to hold you against the wall or toss you around, but controlled enough to do it all without hurting you. Unless you ask of course. Will cuddle and buy you breakfast in the morning. Only downside is the ring of hickies she leaves on your neck. Also she’s poly and stupidly in love with a himbo who she sometimes forgets is also a paladin and not just a bard. Idk if he's into sharing a partner or not but that would be a fun sandwich to be in. Not in the marry section because her job is a bounty hunter and she’s nearly always on the move. 

Zimri - Sugar baby supreme, also has a split tongue and is talented enough to live luxuriously based on her skills. If you can afford a night, why not indulge? Too much personality to marry though, and her other partners are a little intimidating, some of them without really trying to be. 

MARRY

Anu- This is only an option after Rosalind’s passing, and he’s had ample time to mourn for her. He loves his wife, but as a full blooded elf he’s going to outlive her and most of their children even. He knows this, Rosalind knows this, their children know this. That being said, Anu is where Benji gets his wonderful sense of dad flavored humor and general good vibes. He’s still pretty fit despite being in the twilight years of his life, takes great joy in cultivating green spaces, and spends his free time tending to the gardens or researching in the library. He would make for a very lovely spouse.

Belladonna - Beefy ace paladin lady who will read books and cook breakfast with you. If you can put up with her being a bit of a neat freak and the occasional verbal war between her and her cousin Nessa over silly things like golf you’re in for a lovely comfortable marriage. 

Danya - MILF, high powered lawyer type, a domme, who also performs burlesque at an exclusive club. Her love language is all of them, she will spoil you with both physical affection and gifts, free health care, AND a secure retirement fund? And four dogs?? Yes.

Laura - If you can get over your MIL being a literal sea demon, a bard tavern owner for a FIL, and Laura’s three frankly intimidating girlfriends, she’d be lovely to be married to. Funny and affectionate, does her best to be there for you and support you, and will dance the night away. You won’t be bored. 

Lemon - Great baker/cook, built in healthcare, reads a whole lotta smut and is willing to test out new things, and will beat rude people with a magical spoon for you. If you can deal with her need for physical affection, her trouble saying what’s wrong without being asked, her occasional case of the Feral Zoomies,  and a MIL from hell, you’re good. She’d swing between comfy homebody buddy, to party girl, to adventuring buddy pretty easily. 

Tadhgan - He’s….he’s a little boring okay but it’s not his fault. He’s got a lucrative job lined up, fit from working the forge and volunteering in the drake guard, kind of a dork, and will do his very best to keep you happy. Give him time to get over his failed first love and you’d have a very comfortable, if a tiny bit boring marriage. 

Tsisia - She’d be fun to be married to, for her weird sense of humor and lack of shame alone. She just has really lovely vibes. Tsisia can be kind of stupid like flirting with someone by asking them to help with an itch and then just swallowing a couple of their fingers and then immediately being embarrassed that she did that but overall she has a good head on her shoulders and wants to build something long lasting and full of laughter. If you can stand the smell of hay and ozone, long hours working the farm, and the occasional midnight run with her lycan cousins, she’d be a joy. 

Olly - Out of everyone I would marry Olly. Sure the slaughter was only because they tried to kill her first, but you know….that’s a whole lotta drama to deal with. Also her general is really fuckin scary, and the Boar might have a thing for her too?? Too messy. Stay far away. Modern AU would also be kill despite how soft and sweet she is there, mostly because of her two spouses.

Daffodil -She may look like a good time, but she’s got too much weird fae shit going on to be safe. The Galidians have zero risk assessment and think she’s nice because she’s a polite noble out of time. Under the flowery outdated language and ballads she’s just as likely to slay you then lay you. 

Doran - Please just put this man out of his misery. You’d make Benji cry and gain a new enemy in the Bakhouzin’s, but Doran would be so glad to have it all end. 

Labon - This 5ft tall short king is in love with one person and one person only. He also gets the zoomies which lead to biting hit and runs, eats out of the trash, sleeps in odd places, is almost always covered in bits of soot, and will cry if he goes without kisses for more than four hours. Too high maintenance. Also he keeps pigeons as pets so you will always find feathers in weird places. Oh and he takes care of a small army of street urchins, which is sweet, but he’s always busy. 

Marigold - Ace/aro very stabby tabaxi. They will stab first and not ask questions. 

Rosalind - The benefits of marrying this ancient very wealthy woman do not outweigh the danger of being her third spouse.  

Zadok, both the Bear General and Modern AU - If you think they will marry or fuck anyone other then Amaryllis or Eilidh you are very wrong. They believe those two dorks are their soulmates, and they will not touch anyone except them.

It's so wild how with Loustat, Les was the one pretending to be a regular human, in his awkward frumpy clothes; while Lou was struggling to hold on to his high class status during their bidding war over Miss Lily ("admiration and emasculation"). But with Loumand, Louis' the one tryna pass as a regular human in his layman clothes, while Armand "masquerades" as Gentleman Death.

Both times, Lou has to contend with the power imbalances of two overpowered vampires outclassing him over & over again. But while Lou was hostile & offended by Les; he's scared & meek with Armand.

He's been humbled & broken down so much, and he knows firsthand what older/ancient vampires are capable of--

--esp. since Armand confronted Louis intending to threaten him (b4 he realized how pretty Lou was and changed his mind, LOL).

But I do wonder how Louis sensed his "ancient power" exactly? Other than Claudia he's only been around Les & Daciana; so how could he tell? (I bet Daciana's as old Armand.) This was something that always irked me in the books, cuz TWMBK weren't sensed by Lestat until Marius brought him right up to them. Is it cuz Les was too young, or TWMBK just didn't bother projecting their presence to anyone?

Cuz we know Armand was always sending out signals with his Mind Gift (but he's a pro at it, ofc).

Espirit du Corps: My GOAT. Loved seeing flashbacks of my cop lives before amnesia. Also telepathy with Kim is such a powerful, uh, power.

Inland Empire: Also really great! Loved that it constantly reminded me of my ex wife

Encyclopedia: Autism infodump so true. Extremely useful if you want to flirt with Kim with your prowess of Kineema knowledge. But ngl, for a first time player the infodump can get so overwhelming lol. I ended up skipping some of the dialogues because I wasn't used to the DE world yet :(

Shivers: Still overwhelming even after multiple playthroughs. But when it hits, oh yeah it hits. Especially when it foreshadowed stuff. "LOOK UNDER THE FLOORBOARD" I genuinely got chills.

Conceptualization: I'm an art cop so Hell Yea loved this skill. Also good for jokes n stuff. Most importantly Tommy's poetry, which somehow made removing The Expression easier?? +4 modifier holy shit??????

Drama: Always looking forward to this skill being used, but sadly it's not as often as I'd like u_u lying to Evrart about Gary's apartment is very satisfying though, since technically you didn't lie at all lol

well, i’ve certainly gathered that his speaking style makes him stick out laughs in truth, i don’t delve too deeply into the fandomless OC side of things, so i haven’t seen very many OCs in general, but especially not many who are gods. monsters, creatures, Unknowable Entities, yes, and that might be splitting hairs thinking emoji

i think his place as an ancient but comically minor god is kind of unique. he has no tragic fall from grace in his backstory, either— he was always this minor from birth. there’s no suspicious memory loss; he wasn’t booted out of a more coveted position by another god or something. he is just very Small and Old

i do feel that he has probably a lot of familiar characterization tropes (tho what character doesn’t?) but i also hope maybe in combinations that make him feel Unique, aha. he’s vain and selfish and thinks himself much more clever than he is, and has been shown as much many times in the past and still never learns his lesson. his specific brand of immortality is Unnatural even among his fellow gods

what qualities do you and your oc have in common?

well we’re both babies when it comes to the potential for pain, i’ll tell you that much lmao in my case it turns out despite that i seem to have a high tolerance for pain, it’s just the Anxiety of anticipating it that gets to me hhh. in vanya’s case, i feel like his tolerance is also probably Low, and he will cry pitifully if you cut his nail a little too close to the quick u_u;

i honestly don’t know that we have a lot in common, tbh laughs one of the most glaring differences probably is that he is utterly focused on himself and his own wants, to the point that the outside world really only plays into things when it has something he Wants. he’s fickle and scattered and. well. i’m not Usually like that ghhfie

i’m a stubborn thing, and very patient, and i tend to continue on trying to methodically and meticulously Solve something long after i probably should have given up the ghost lmao vanya can be stubborn and patient, when obtaining what he wants at that time calls for it, but he’s also likely to lose interest before seeing it through thinking emoji

does your oc have any quirks or habits?

does his speaking style count? i know i already mentioned it once but it is part of what makes him fun for me to write ghhfieo i once referred to him as ‘grammatically-challenged’ but the truth is he is absolutely capable of constructing “normal” sentences. he doesn’t refer to himself in the third person bc his grasp of language is Iffy but bc constantly reminding everyone who and what he is feels more important, more satisfying. and he can’t refer to himself as ‘the pretty vanya creature’ and then use ‘I’ bc people will think the pretty vanya creature is Someone Else and that would kill him rip

he’s an emotional creature, and he uses made-up words (or made-up forms of real words) and rearranges sentences in order to make them feel more urgent or Pretty to him (hence why he also tends to neglect contractions). he uses words like “biggestly” and “thrump” bc they make sense to him and convey what he intends them to while making use of his relatively limited vocab thinking emoji

iiiiiwaoi !! they were one of the first ships i came across when getting into hq ! they have that childhood best friend trope of "i know you better than you know yourself" which is always a great flavour but they also use that power for good, i feel ? Oikawa is very protective of his team and his ace most of all. he deeply resents Ushijima for his disdain of iwaizumi's abilities, and just, brain go brr over THAT scene in the last ep of s2 (he pointed at him !!!! wah)

"better in fanon than canon" because think most of my haikyuu ships should not become canon lmao but for them specifically, the tension is a huge part of their appeal ? they will point at each other in any crowd but will they ever date ????

i used to read more fanfic (solely) about them than i do now but that's in part due to me shipping Oikawa with too many people u_u leading me to free space: i think they work soooo well in poly ships. with Kyoutani, Kageyama, Suga, Bokuto, Semi, Ushijima, Kenma, related to the captain squad, Atheltic Trainer Iwaizumi Simps, in the Seijoh OT4, the list is endless

i don’t actually seek many daisuga fanfics but most of what i read is insanely good… there’s this one about infertility that really took me out and i can’t find it anymore i’m so sad :( i feel pretty content microwaving them on occasion, or talking with friends ! while they don’t have the otp appeal to me, they are a solid ship and I will feel warm over them

one of my first hq!! events was a daisuga week and they’re super fun to write, i realised that i actually like angst with them ? iwaoi angst just makes me feel :C but daisuga hits the spot of “close enough to break each other but not close enough that they can’t recover” (i am a wee baby when it comes to angst haha)

free space: they can make each other worse (they could play off of each other’s worst traits and lose that balance they achieve, if the life around them changed) but also they could. not. out of karasuno they’re the ones i see as most likely to not stay that close with each other ? not because of any drama, just because of life. but they’re just as likely to not speak for a while and then spend an entire weekend on call telling each other every single thing they did and catching up on who they could meet from their incredible friends and then hibernate for another few months ^^

tomura sat in his gaming chair, clicking away at his mouse and aggressively tapping his keyboard keys. you had just come home from hanging out with some friends, finding your boyfriend this way. you slipped into the room, not disturbing him as you watched his moniter.

he looked so pretty like this, leaning back in his chair with his black t-shirt, messy hair and black headset. you hummed lightly, placing your bag in the corner of the room with a silly smile. "tomu," you whined, the male lightly flinching at the sudden sound.

"mm, baby," he called and you walked over to him, placing your hands on his shoulders and burying your nose into his neck, littering kisses to his skin. "did you have fun?" he asks as he sees you dip under the desk and climb into his lap carefully.

"yeah, we went out to eat after so im not hungry. do you want me to cook for you tomura?" you sleepily asked as you buried your face into his neck, the sound spilling from his headphones filling your ears. you assumed from the voices that he was in a game with dabi and toga.

"its okay baby, just fall asleep okay? ill order takeout," he says before going to pet your curls, placing a kiss to your temple before continuing his game, allowing you sleep in his lap. shigaraki didn't like alot of things, but he loved you.
