Can we all agree that Hisirdoux is not only interested in musical art, but in all kinds of artistic media, and that during the 900 years he spent wandering the world, he learned all kinds of artistic and bardic activities?

You cannot look at this man and tell me that he does not know how to dance spectacularly. I’m convinced he took classes in so many types of dance that he lost count, and that on more than one occasion he was a participant and member of the Paris Opera, even if he was only a stagehand. This boy knows ballet from its origins, and when he feels overwhelmed, he picks up a pair of slippers and takes a dance class.

Because sometimes you can't express everything in words, and that's why he writes songs. But when even the sonnets and poetic rhymes that accompany the melodies fall short, it's your body that demonstrates the feelings with movement, and that is what we call dance.

Okay, I'm an idiot!!! (Trollhunters Ending Revelation)

So, someone pointed this out to me recently and I just want to cry!! HERE ME OUT.............the ending to Rise of the Titans is actually better than you think cus there were some details I think were meant to be more obvious than they came across.

FIRST - We're all peeved that going back in time erased everyone's memories and therefore relationships and character development. However, when they go back Tobey is suddenly able to climb the rope in gym class and Claire seems to be paying attention more to Jim than last time. Especially when he is giving his speech at the audition, having a rewatch made me realize as soon as he starts speaking she has a look of recognition, almost like she thinks she's heard this speech somewhere before. Not only that but Barbara and Stickler got along incredibly quickly for 2 people who had only just met. These imply they have some sort of subconscious memory of the last timeline, WHICH considering Nari said time is NOT linear makes sense, cus if it was liner everything would be exactly the same as the first time without these subtle changes. Also, Nari said the ninth configuration is the key, the amulet would only work after they figured this out, if that's the case maybe Nari knew the amulet would to some degree protect them from complete amnesia, they just need to be 'woken up' so to speak. (Also since Merlin and Nari will be alive again they might actually be able to help with this too, especially Nari, she's the demi-god that gave them this advice for goodness sake!!!)

SECOND - The new amulet is 'For the good of all' which does tie directly into going back in time to save EVERYONE.

THIRD - Jim went back in time using the new Akiridion amulet, that means HE STILL HAS IT!!!! The message of the entire movie with Jim is that he now doesn't need the original amulet to be the Trollhunter, he always has been and always will be. Thats why the original amulet chose Toby instead of Jim the second time, it knows Jim doesn't need it anymore and can continue fighting as he is, he will ALWAYS be the Trollhunter with or without it. Jim also knows if he sticks to the original time things will end up the same and his friends that had died will still die, he's urging Toby to be the new Trollhunter to protect him in the coming fights.

There were a couple more points and details but honestly it's 3am and my ADHD brain has forgotten the rest and lost the TikTok I watched 😅

Overall tbh I'm still not happy with the ending, BUT having these pointed out has given me a different less hostile viewpoint on it. I certainly think it's plausible that this was intended but didn't come across very clearly to audiences (myself very much included). Either way, however you wanna interpret it I'm sticking with this as cannon cus if fills me with a lot more hope for the ending than how I originally felt and I don't know about you but I like feeling happy! 🤣

omg I have so many thoughts about ToA!!!! Although they are mostly just thoughts about Douxie

I think that Douxie is just a character who exists in the peripheries of everyones lives not in the sense that he's super important but in the sense that everyone in Arcadia knows who he is

Like maybe he used to babysit Jim! He's Barbara's favorite barista at the coffee shop because he always gets her order just right! He was hired as a stage magician for one of Claire's birthday parties when she was a kid! He volunteers to run bingo night at town center and he chats with Nana whenever she shows up!

I like the idea that he is so lonely, he's been alive for so long and he only really has Archie for companionship (and Zoe but I tend to headcannon that they don't spend all their time together and they tend to actually drift in and out of each others lives). But he also knows that actually getting attached and making genuine friendships mortals isnt the best idea, so he tends to just be surface level friendly with everyone he meets. Just friendly enough to make an impression like aw he was such a sweet boy type of impression but nothing more deep than that.

I really like thinking about what Douxie's life was like before the wizards series and I could talk SO MUCH about him but I dont want this post to end up too long lol

~ If Hisirdoux finds an obsession he loves he is not above secretly using magic to make himself seem cooler or more appealing. Maybe he uses mind reading to make sure he's impressing you, or he casts a small charm to be super strong or super smart so he can help you lift things or have a long conversation about the topics you love. If you seem resistant or not interested Douxies not above using magical persuasion, a type of spell that'll make you want to do what he asks you to so he can snag a date.

~ Phones are some of the most useful inventions on earth. Why cast a spell on you when he can just use your phone to track you? He wants to memorize your schedule and know where you go so he can plan meet cutes and make himself appear mysterious but alluring. With Zoes help he preorchestrates everything by tracking where you'll be and when. Using a fake account to check up on you. But its obvious his plan is working when he gets that first date and begins to gain your interest. He makes himself apart of your schedule and implements himself in your daily life. Whenever he changes the schedule or leaves you notice and ask him about it making him smile. Slowly but surely he's wormed his way in.

~ He's not quit sure when he fell for you but when he fell, he fell hard and now he can't get you out of his head. Out of his 919 years on this planet no one has ever made him feel this way and he's not about to let this feeling go. He's lost so much and given up so many things. But he loves you too much too ever let you go.

~ Douxie wears his heart on his sleeve for everyone to see but he hides his obsession of you from you. He doesn't want to come off as annoying or clingy or even creepy. He also doesn't want you to know about his endless love for you, at least not yet. He wants to befriend you and become a constant part of your life before he makes you his and Douxie wants to make sure the transition from strangers to friends to lovers is flawless and that no one will ever question if you fell in love too quickly. The moment he set eyes on you he knew you were the one but the rest of the world didn't need to know that, not until it was the right time.

~ He talks about you to Archie all the time. The familar knows you just as much as Douxie if not more. As his familar Douxie and Archie are already connected and have a deep bond where emotions are shared, but when Douxies obsession with you grows so does Archies. Archie helped raise Douxie and cares about him more than anything. So if Douxie cares about you, so does Archie. The familar often gives Douxie advice for how to woo you and Archie being the romantic he is, can't wait for when you two finally fall in love. Hopefully you like cats because he'll act like a stray and follow you to help Douxie keep tabs on you.

~ You hang out all the time. At his bookstore, the coffee shop he works at, college in between classes, and before and after his shows. He's always inviting you and your friends places and making sure that you love him and that your friends approve of him. He bumps into you while your out so he can introduce himself to your parents and any family in the area so they know him and trust him and he quickly gains confidence when it comes to courting you. He slowly eases out of friend territory and into boyfriend territory.

~ You're invited to all his concerts. Douxie makes sure to keep an eye out for you as he performs. His bandmates and many of his fans notice the sudden switch from hard rock songs to more lovey dovey music. He pours all of his passion and love into his music hoping you understand and hear him. After all music was his world but now your his world. He wants no needs you to understand he'd do anything for you.

~ He lavishes you with attention and gifts. Backstage passes, free merch, concert tickets to other shows, sentimental items, cute souvineers, movie tickets, and anything else you could ever want. He tries not to overwhelm you with all the money he spends on you but you just deserve the world and he always adores your smile. He can't wait til you smile at him like that all the time.

~ Douxie is smart and patient. Hes willing to play the long game even if he doenst really want too. He wants you to know he's magic but he needs you to find out in a cool way. He often fantasizes about saving you at work and being your hero. He slowly introduces the concept of magic and gives you books from his giftstore to try and get you interested. You'll never become a magic user yourself but he'd like you to not freak out at the idea of him having magic.

~ When you find out your ecstatic and ask him so many questions. You begin doing more research in his shop and help him hide his secret. He tells you all sorts of stories and slowly he watches you fall in love with just like he planned. Hisirdoux is planning your wedding in his head every time you laugh and he can't wait til your together forever.

~ You're not magic but that doesn't matter to him. Hisirdoux knows more than enough ancient spells that could keep you alive forever. Age won't be a problem and whether you like it or not you will be spending the rest of your life with him. He will love and protect you and be your knight in shining armor. History may not remember the name Hisrdoux but you, you will never forget him.

So, a huge part of the fandom had an unspoken agreement that Barbara Lake would totally fucking adopt Hisirdoux Casperan as a second son, and I mean I get it, I have even wrote fanfics about it. But.

Like, I am a fucking Latina bitch, and I totally have the HC that Javier is a softball inside his dad mask, and Ophelia? Mami Ophelia, uhhhh! She kept NotEnrique as the twin of her son and called him Beto. So that way they would have Beto and Enrique twins.

If you are from LATAM you would know what I am talking about.

Anyways.

Consider the possibilities, the amount of things they could do with another child. Claire and Douxie already have a brother-sister relationship, and he needs discipline. Like, Mexican mom's chancla discipline.

But also the ways they would interact. How Javier can be a supportive Papa, the family going to both Doux and Claire's plays, the concert nights the Nuñez siblings would have.

He’d swear on his fathers future grave that he’d hear Douxie say that sentence a million - No billion- times over the centuries, Archie thought. 

His poor wizard familiar seemed remarkably consistent in calling for him at his letter writing desk. Why must you ask? 

“Well, it all started centuries ago when Douxie, I, and you all parted ways after a remarkably well-successful few decades of wizardly adventures.” Although, it was simply put in Archie’s opinion that having you around made Douxie somehow less impulsive.

After parting ways though the wizards kept in touch. 

Delightful, right?

“No! Blast, I’d be sitting on a horde of Brasher Doubloons and licking fatty sardine oil off my paws. For every time that young Hisirdoux asked me the question, ‘do you think it’s too much?’

Well certainly not D. You’ve only been in love with them for a couple centuries now. You’d think maybe you ought to cut to the chase!” 

“There’s certainly no harm in signing it ‘your friend’ or ‘take care’ or ‘patiently awaiting your response.’”

“Fuzzbuckets,” Arch rubbed his temples.  

“We’ve all been patiently waiting for him to do something. Zoey, and I. TrollMarket. But what we didn’t know, or at least, I never realized until now.

I ‘accidentally’ okay, I know, and maybe not entirely accidentally.  

Found a trunk full of old letter correspondences from Douxie and Y/N. 

And every time after he’d ask me, his dear old wise familiar, for advice he’d scratch out the various friendly signatures and address it ‘faithfully yours’ to you.”

Pacing back across the floor Archie continued, “For centuries! Every single one! 

So, I’ve concluded I’d not be rich, but rather I’d be in debt owing Wendell billions of dollars beyond anyones wildest dreams. Because,” Archie finished, plopping down, “Douxie had some damn sincere game going this whole time.”
