The oldest door in the UK. This oak door belongs to Westminster Abbey and is the oldest and only Anglo-Saxon door in Great Britain. The door has been standing for over 950 years, dating back to the reign of Edward the Confessor during the 1050s. The door was made from a single oak tree from the east of England in medieval times. The oak piece has 5 main boards, connected by iron strips and wooden beams, and is approximately two meters high. There are rumors that traces of human skin remain on the door, but it has been proven to be bovine leather: (it happens that many wooden artifacts were covered with leather to preserve the quality of the wood and to decorate the environment).
The door opens into the large octagonal room, where monks gathered daily for prayers in the 13th century and today serves as a storage place for important religious documents.

New on the National Register of Historic Places: The Church of the Incarnation, 3801 Pleasant Ave., Minneapolis
The Church of the Incarnation, in South Minneapolis, was designed by Emmanuel Louis Masqueray and completed in 1918. The brick and stone church (built by the same company that built the Foshay Tower and St. Mary’s Basilica, among other landmark buildings) combines Italian Renaissance and Romanesque Revival styles. It is notable for its ornate nave and chancel, which feature barrel-vaulted and semi-dome wood ceilings, stained glass windows, a marble platform and altar, side aisles and side chapels, and stone statues and altars. The rectory, built in 1913, is connected to the church via a tiled walkway built in 1932.
On March 9, 2022, portions of the church were damaged in an early morning fire. The church re-opened for services on October 2, 2022, after months of restoration work.
The Church of the Incarnation was listed on the National Register of Historic Places January 11, 2022. See the nomination documents here.

A glimpse into the history of old Deerfield. In March of 1704 the town was attacked by the French and indians in the predawn hours. The town was burned down and 47 men, women and children were killed and 112 were captured and forced on a march to Canada. The top grave is that of Eunice. She was captured in the raid. But when she stumbled fell into a river on the way, she was killed by a single blow from a tomahawk. The indians were told to kill anyone who slowed them down. She was killed in front of her children and her husband, who was the 1st minister in Deerfield. A bridge over the river was named in her honor but it is said to be haunted by her ghost because she met with such a violent end. The inscription on her grave says she "fell by the rage of ye Barbarous Enemy.” The second picture shows a historic plaque with a brief sketch about Deerfield’s founding. The 3rd picture is a memorial for the family of James Corse. James died in 1696, 8 years before the raid took place. But his wife Elizabeth was captured and died on the march to Canada aged 34. Their children are listed, Ebenezer, James and Elizabeth. Elizabeth was carried captive to Canada and never came back. The last parts of the inscription gets a little tough to understand. But at the bottom it says someone was “mother to 15 children, the last were twins born on April 12th, 1737.” Bottom pic is one of the historic homes found in Old Deerfield.

Le Cellier - Rue de Mars, Reims, France
This building with its Art Nouveau facade and iconic door was built in 1898 by the architect Ernest Kalas for the champagne company Jules Mumm. The five mosaics illustrating stages in the production of champagne were made by Auguste Guilbert-Martin from drawings by Joseph Blanc and Octave Guillonnet.
The property later became the home of Veuve-Cliquot champagnes, and then   was the head office of Champagne Jacquart from 1968 to 2009. In 2010 the City of Reims turned it into a cultural center with an auditorium and exhibition space.

Taken 9 October 2022 at Heaven's Cliff. Very appropriate name btw. The first written mention of the place is from the 1700's.
Heaven's Cliff has several defence stations, which were part of land and sea fortification of my city during World Wars. You can also see a anti-aircraft gun from WWII in the lower photo if you look hard enough.
