Hey, so for Watcher fans who may not wanna pay for another subscription or just wanna watch something new here are some other youtubers you should take a look at if you want to get a spook or learn some history
(* = potentially triggering topics covered usually associated with crimes, so be careful)
Ghost Hunting and general spooky vibes:
AmysCrypt - Your typical ghost hunting show with two Australians traveling the world, though I will say they do go to places I've never heard of before and they do very good research. And there are some goofs along with the spooks.
The Ouija Brothers - Two British dudes finding ghosts in England. The vibes are generally pretty chill and it's a good time
The Paranormal Scholar - A mixed bag of all paranormal happenings from ghosts to demons to cryptids and aliens. Sort of an overview to deepdives on various paranormal occurrences. The research is immaculate and their voice is very soothing in my opinion.
Paranormal Quest - Ghost hunting in the US, sometimes goofy sometimes serious, but they do go to some interesting places and some familiar ones too
Weird History:
ObsoleteOddity* - This guy is great, like 80% of the things he covers I've never heard of before. Very atmospheric, fun little visuals, and a large variety of weird events and people for topics.
Georgia Marie* - A little bit of everything, but she focuses on strange things that have happened, lgbt history, true crime, and historical disasters. She covers enough of everything that I'm sure you'll find something
Stefanie Valentine* - I'm not sure if she even posts anymore, but I thought what she was doing was great. Think Vampira or Elvira but for older true crime and ghost stories, I think the latest covered would have been like early 1900s. Idk I just thought it was like a cute spooky lil storytime
Caitlin Doughty or Ask A Mortician* - Pretty sure y'all would know who she is but just in case, she's a mortician who covers topics relating to death! From odd ways people have died, or odd things that have happened to people after they've died. And just odd or tragic things that have happened through history. It's silly, but done with levity and care and respect the topics deserve.
General History:
Part-Time Explorer - Mostly history on ships and ghost towns with the occasional train. Lots of research and interviews, very well done and worth checking out even if it may not be your thing.
History's Forgotten People - Talks about sometimes obscure, or sometimes not, historical individuals. Even if you've heard of the person in the topic, they'll talk on something obscure about that person.
History Tea Time with Lindsay Holiday - A heavy focus on royalty around the world, a generally upbeat dive into historic individuals.
(Or you could always go watch time team, that's an option and it's my guilty pleasure love me some archeology)
True Crime:
There are so many out there, so I'll just recommend two of my favorites
Gabulosis* - She focuses on vintage cases 20 years or older (literally in her opener) and is well researched and respectful. Another one that talks on cases I've never heard of that deserve to be heard.
Mysterious WV* - True crime and missing persons based in the West Virginia area and neighboring states. Idk how to even explain the vibes. This guy is just great please watch him trust me you won't be disappointed.
That's all for now, feel free to add your own recs out there!

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day (green tea!) Welcome to the weekend!
Wow! Here we are again: Friday! Where did that week go? No, seriously, where did that week go?
First of all, many thanks to everyone that got involved with Throwback Thursday on my page. Yesterday’s word was HISTORY. Again, another emotive word! It has both good and bad connotations for people. All of those photos on Tuesday made everybody very nostalgic. Whenever I pass The Electric Ballroom, I remember Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson playing ‘The Return Of The Magnificent Seven’ by The Clash. Over those huge speakers, that big old bass line absolutely blew my mind!
Was it hot enough for you yesterday? 30 plus degrees for the fourth day in a row! I spoke to one of my students in Los Angeles and he was gutted! “It’s only 24 degrees where I am!”
Yes, there is publicity saying I’ll be on stage at the Camden Music Festival on Saturday at 1.00 p.m. but the person that created that schedule was clearly on the cooking sherry! Unless Gordon can find me a new slot – apologies – I won’t be coming to Camden! You’ll get your Lindsay hug and your selfie some other day.
Popped into Tesco’s yesterday’s and found this woman with her arms full of vegetables. Something was about to drop on the ground. “Would you like a basket?” I said to her, giving her my basket. “You’re such a gentleman!” she said. “Does your wife tell you that?” “Yes,” I replied, but I didn’t elaborate! “If my husband was here,” she added, “he would’ve done that!” What is ‘being a gentleman’? And is it important to women? Whenever people come into the Mi-Soul studio, I always offer and then make them a cuppa, and they always remember that act of courtesy! Seems pretty normal behaviour to me! I still open and hold doors open for women. Seems pretty normal behaviour to me. Other men, maybe not? It reminds me of that classic meme of a brief social media exchange. A woman asks, “Do men still open car doors?” And, underneath it, some smart alec has replied, “How do you think we get inside?”
Really hope you can join me tomorrow at 1.00 p.m. for ‘The A-Z Of Mi-Soul Music’: The Letter Q. We’re going to Jamaica for a wedding on September 13th, so I’ll miss one radio show (September 16th) but I’ll be back in time for the start of The Letter R on September 23rd.
The Trouble has bought me some holiday clothing. I tried it on yesterday. Man, I look good! “I’m going to look better than you!” I said. She chuckled to herself. “Sure, baby!” However, I know better! I really look good! Testament to her good taste, though.
Have a fabulous and funky Friday! I love you all. You’re probably thinking, “You don’t even know me!” but, if people can hate for no reason, why can’t I love?

Your posts about the historical stuff are really cool! Do you have any recommendations for documentaries, too?
Actually yes!
I have one specific film that I recommend to everyone called Ghosts of the Abyss, from when a team of scientists and filmmakers sent cameras into the wreck of Titanic back in 2001.
There are also a few YouTube channels to look at that are really good including History Tea Time with Lindsay Holiday, UsefulCharts, and History Matters.
As for individual documentaries, here's a small list for you to check out of my top 5:
Save the Titanic with Bob Ballard
Secrets of Egypt's Lost Queen
Hampton Court, Secrets of Henry VIII's Palace
The Last Days of Anne Boleyn
Cleopatra: Portrait of a Killer

It feels so weird to type this in english knowing we’re both hispanic, but anyway, here are my recs for channels that upload video essays I’ve enjoyed:
Sociology: I actually majored in this and so of course this is the one that’s making my brain go ??? Perhaps Shanspeare? She talks about topics like the obsession with aesthetics, ageism and how it plays out in different industries, people’s fascination with true crime, gender roles, beauty standards. I specifically remember having watched two: infantilization and the body hair debate, and 12 going on 21: the end of the tween era and. I liked both. The videos last from about 30-50 minutes. And I’m not sure if she’d fit here but Hanna Witton is a sex educator and obviously there’s a lot of topics that can be linked to that one, so you might find something interesting there.
Film/tv: friendly space ninja, ladyknightthebrave and Rowan Ellis. They all have long videos, more than an hour or so. The second one has one on the haunting of bly manor that includes excerpts from a interview she did to the show runner of the show and another one in which she discussed holocaust films with a man who wrote a book on it. Jessica Kellgren-Fozard also has some on media analysis and queer history.
Art: great art explained. He gives context, talks about the authors, techniques and materials used, links with other works by the same authors, etc. The only thing is that the duration is around 20 minutes or so, definitely not long but still informative.
History: Karolina Żebrowska, she focuses on fashion from previous centuries, sometimes comments on the clothing used in historical tv/films. There’s also history tea time with Lindsay Holiday, she mainly talks about royal families from different places and time periods.
Bonus (sports): I’ve read your posts on plenty of them, but never this one, so I’m not sure if you’d be interested but I’m including it just in case. These two (part one and two) on the cycle of exploitation in women’s figure skating.
Hopefully you’ll find something to watch in at least one of those options. And if you come across any other video essays or channels on those topics, pls let me know, I also enjoy them 🩵
I LOVE YOU!! I watch and I’m subscribed to a few youtubers you mentioned! I recently discovered friendly space ninja and i love him, his channel reminds me of cosmonaut variety hour but bc the thumbnails look kinda similar lol, but i love his videos. And karolina is so funny i love her and her fashion videos. I haven’t watched that many videos of Lindsay Holiday but it’s bc i find her voice just a tad annoying jeksjss but i like that she covers royal figures across the centuries/world. I will definitely check out the first two cause I’ve never heard of them and they sound super interesting. Also the last one about figure skating reminds me of when i fell into a rabbit hole of russian figure skating and all the drama with Tutberidze kfksbdnssb (this was around the winter olympic games) thank you so much my love!!!
