With the S2 premiere of “The Ghost and Molly McGee” in a few weeks I remembered that I hadn’t made this post I wanted to do when S1 ended. So here now is my:

My Top 12 S1 The Ghost and Molly Mcgee songs (in no particular order)

1. Snow Day [Ready, Set, Snow!]

I remember days like this when I was a kid and I love the expressions Molly has, especially the face after the icicles.

2. Only One Best Friend [Friend-Off]

an epic rock ballad for a pointless fight between Scratch and Libby since we all know Molly wouldn’t limit herself to just one best friend

3. Just Give (Us Money) [Getting the Band(shell) Back Together]

 A fun song that shows how aggressive Molly can get with her asking for charity (unfortunately this clip doesn’t include the Scratch robs a credit union gag after this song) 

4. (Boom Baby Boom) There Goes My Heart [Hooray for Mollywood!]

This is a fun and short song that both reminds me of Cuban Pete from The Mask and the singer reminds me of Josh Gad (which I was surprised that it wasn’t him since he was everywhere in disney for a while at the time)

5. Happy (Hide My Joy Away) [Molly vs the Ghost World] 

Not only a catchy song that was stuck in my head for a month after hearing it but also a neat hint at how powerful Molly is in the Ghost Realm (it also kinda reminded me of the Trolls movies, song-wise which that is more of a positive in this case)

6. Everything is Totally Normal [Home is Where the Haunt is]

Molly going through what so many kids are and trying to pretend that things are fine in a manic, catchy song. Love the facial expressions too.

7. It’s a Lose-Lose [Scratch the Surface]

One of the main reasons people started to ship Molly and Libby, then again could you blame them? Molly is singing a ballad about not wanting to lose Libby with several operatic scene moments, how else can we except to not ship them?

8. Go Back to City Hall [Citizen McGee]

An excellent homage to “Beauty School Drop-Out” from Grease. The episode is also a nice hint at a possible future for Molly being Mayor of Brighton.

9. They All Pitch In [Out of House and Home]

along with the Grease homage, we now have a “9-5 by Dolly Parton” homage and it’s a delight, just a shame it’s so short.

10. The Bad Boy of Brighton [The Bad Boy Bobby Daniels]

A good homage to the classic 1940/50s girl’s singer groups

11. Best Friends’ Day (Saturday) [All Systems No]

A frantic song about all the possibilities of what you can do on a Saturday. Shame it’s short.

what kind of degree is lily aiming for and why that one specifically

oh man, you must be a mind reader because I was legit turning this over in my head this morning. it’s a long story:

so, straight out of high school, lily isn’t aiming for a degree at all because that’s the summer she takes out to the cape (and where octo expansion happens). she’s able to pursue higher education once she comes out of that mess, and she starts to study for a neuroscience degree.

she’d just barely graduated when cuttlefish passes the captain’s title on to her, and it throws her for a serious loop- her life and everything she accomplished over the past five years felt like it had been for nothing, and she was back to square one.

by the time hm3 is over, she’s developing a healthier outlook towards surprises and stress; looking for the stability in the present rather than pitting all her hopes on the past, and appreciating what led up to each moment instead of placing all of her progress on one pedestal.

she talks about a lot with her therapist, now over a video call instead of in-person back in inkopolis: what led her to this major? lots of people are inherently drawn to something in college that aligns with their experiences over childhood, so was there anything besides an affinity for science in high school that influenced her decision? what does she want to do with that degree?

it’s only all this time later where lil begins to unpack, and come to terms with, the understanding that she was very heavily influenced by her time in the metro- the unspoken wish that maybe, if she studied hard enough, she could find out how to get rid of everything that damaged her brain over the course of that one summer.

Barragens do Algarve estão nos 45% da sua capacidade total

As barragens do Algarve dispõem atualmente de mais 6,6 hectómetros cúbicos (hm3) de água do que no período homólogo do ano passado, situando-se nos 45% da sua capacidade total, revelou a Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente (APA).

"As seis albufeiras que abastecem a região do Algarve totalizam um volume de cerca de 199 hm3 (correspondente a 45% da capacidade total de armazenamento). Face à semana passada, ocorreu um aumento de cerca de 0,8 hm3. Face ao período homólogo de 2023, regista-se um aumento de aproximadamente sete hm3 de água armazenada", indicam dados da APA sobre o volume existente nas reservas superficiais da região na segunda-feira (15 de abril).

De acordo com os dados, a que agência Lusa teve acesso, as piores percentagens de armazenamento se verificam no barlavento (oeste), com as barragens do Arade e do Bravura a 18% e a 22%, respetivamente.

As outras duas barragens do barlavento, as de Odelouca e o Funcho, encontram-se respetivamente nos 46% e 55%, enquanto as duas albufeiras da zona do sotavento (este), as de Beliche e Odeleite, estão com níveis respetivos de 43% e 51% da sua capacidade total.

Se Beliche, Odeleite, Funcho e Arade estão agora com menos capacidade do que há um ano, com dados que oscilam entre menos 5,1 hm3 em Odeleite e os 0,4 hm3 no Funcho, a situação é distinta nas barragens de Odelouca e da Bravura, que dispõem de mais 13,4 e 3,1 hm3 do que no mesmo período de 2023.

Apesar de as chuvas registadas nos primeiros meses do ano e no período da Páscoa terem melhorado as reservas na região, as autoridades ambientais têm vindo a alertar que a situação de seca se mantém no Algarve e é necessário continuar a adotar medidas de controlo do consumo.

O setor agrícola é o mais penalizado pelas medidas de contingência adotadas para fazer face à seca que afeta o Algarve e as associações de regantes já se posicionaram publicamente a favor de um alívio das restrições para a agricultura, permitindo aos produtores, sobretudo os de citrinos no barlavento, salvaguardar a produção.

No início de abril, a APA anunciou que iria fazer este mês "a avaliação da situação hidrológica e respetivas projeções, para determinar a possibilidade de revisão das condicionantes em vigor na região".

No entanto, salientou que qualquer decisão teria de "continuar a assegurar em cada momento o armazenamento do volume necessário para um ano de abastecimento público nas diferentes origens naturais utilizadas".

O Algarve está em situação de alerta devido à seca desde 5 de fevereiro, tendo o Governo aprovado um conjunto de medidas de restrição ao consumo, nomeadamente a redução de 15% no setor urbano, incluindo o turismo, e de 25% na agricultura.

A estas medidas somam-se outras como o combate às perdas nas redes de abastecimento, a utilização de água tratada na rega de espaços verdes, ruas e campos de golfe ou a suspensão da atribuição de títulos de utilização de recursos hídricos.

O Governo já admitiu elevar o nível das restrições, declarando o estado de emergência ambiental ou de calamidade, caso as medidas agora implementadas sejam insuficientes para fazer face à escassez hídrica na região.

was scrolling thru my twitter and found a design for a now-scrapped/shelved character. figured i’d post it here for completions sake.

this is (was?) Chiricos, now-former third member of Khaios’ main group of evil fellas. he was intended to be a sort of “comedic relief” but i recently restructured the whole hierarchy and setup of how Khaios’ “empire” operates (it’s more of a cult now, as opposed to the sort of pyramid-scheme/military hybrid it used to be) and realized he didn’t really fit in with the whole thing anymore, so into the box of unused concepts he goes.

as evidenced by his name and design, he’s based on clouds, with design influences from classic Mega Man Robot Masters, most notably Cloud Man and Wind Man.

actually designing him was hell. i came up with an initial design, which got all the way to coloring, before i decided with great pain to shelve that design and start over, since, while the design shown above doesn’t perfectly align with what i had in mind for him, “frog robot with turbine nipples” was even further off.

i think my idea for the design was “ancient wind/weather deity in terracotta armor, upgraded by Khaios to be more powerful/intimidating/better-equipped-for-battle” but tbh it’s been a while since i actually came up with the design that i’m probably misremembering and/or forgetting some parts.

this was also my first time trying to do shading manually, as can be seen from the scribbles on the grey parts. i was trying to give them the appearance of metal armor plating but looking back on it, it looks kinda like tinfoil or one of those thin sheets they use to make the cartoon wobble sound effects.

tbh i’m still really proud of how the cloud arms & legs look, even if the rest of it isn’t all too great. oh, also, minor footnote: this whole thing was colored in photoshop. you can tell because the arm parts have three different colors (excluding the lines) which isn’t possible in Heromachine without some masking trickery.

but yeah that’s about it for this guy. if i find the frog-with-turbine-nipples design i’ll add it in an edit/reblog.
