for example i could say Einführungsveranstaltungsteilnehmer (which is not underlined with red by tumblr because it is a grammatically correct compound word (i think that‘s what they‘re called?)) which is the words introduction + event + participant, so that word just means “participant of an introductory event“ but instead it‘s one word? i hope that makes sense? dkdkkdksks i mean it makes sense in german but idk if it makes sense to you cause idk if i‘m explaining it very well lmao,

Okay so skdjdjdjddhhddhdhjsk... I used to watch all of my series in German (like H2O) bc obviously they were on german tv so they were german- and i knew that most of these actors i saw on tv were american and i was always SO fascinated that they all learned german for this show??? Like I actually thought they were the people‘s real voices and that these English and American actors were learning german so they could re-record the whole ass show and do everything in german dkdkdldjdjjd... i swear I thought that until I was like 14 omg. imagine - I didn’t really like this when it first was released as a single and on another listen it’s still not really doing it for me, her vocals are obviously phenomenal with the whistle notes but it just doesn’t vibe w me that much 6.5/10

needy - I really like this song and have from the little snippet we got ages ago, just overall great production and lyricism too. v good 8/10

NASA - I don’t this is a bad song, and I think if it came on in my car i’d vibe to it and like it just as much as I do now, but saying that, it feels weird that ariana is singing it. it feels like a rihanna reject that someone else wrote and ariana is just singing the words. because of that the song just doesn’t fully gel with me because it just feels slightly disjointed at points. the verses are good though, but the chorus could do with something more ya know 7/10

bloodline - oooh this is a bop. does feel like side to side 2.0 though. max martin production gets it right again. not the biggest fan of the pre-chorus but in the summer? this will BUMP. can already see this being the song of the summer tbh, the horns and ariana always work. plus shes actually enunciating!! I can understand what she’s saying lmao, it’ll be interesting to see what they do for a radio edit bc the “you’re gonna have to let this shit go” is the best part of the song. the bridge is good too. overall a whole bop 8/10

fake smile - this is probably my favourite on the album so far. I really like the sample and the overall vibe of the song. the subject matter is quite mature for ariana to be discussing which I appreciate, but this on the album in junction with 7 rings is incredibly ironic. her lyricism on this is something I appreciate and her vocals are wonderful as usual. will probably go on my chill playlists 8/10

bad idea - hmm this feels like an amalgamation of other songs on the album so far. i’m not really vibing with it, her vocals seem a bit derivative in the chorus, but I appreciate her efforts to enunciate this time around lol, even if the lyrics could be a bit better. it’s not exactly a bad song but I think it’s probably the weakest on the album thus far. the vocals in the bridge are fabby though. it might have changed my mind if it was placed elsewhere on the album. the instrumental section at the end? not really sure if it was needed. 6/10

make up - this feels like an extra on sweetener that wasn’t included and for that reason i’m not vibing with it. it feels unnecessarily sexual skdkdksnj but maybe that’s just cos I don’t like to imagine ariana having sex lmfao. it feels catered towards her younger fans bc the lyrics aren’t that strong (even for just a cute lil song) probably the only filler song on the album. could’ve done without it I think. 5/10

ghostin - the lyrics in this are very good and refreshing to hear from ariana, going from make up to this is definitely a transition™️ but i’m highkey about to cry lmao. this is really beautiful and ariana talking about something so personal to her as one of the most influential women rn is something I can appreciate greatly. the production on this is really good too. this is the type of energy we want in 2019! talking about our issues openly and understanding that shit happens that’s shitty but we can all eventually get through it! I needed this song rn lol. the bridge adlibs with the violins are beautiful. 9/10

in my head - the spoken word beginning made me think ariana was gonna go deep like with ghostin. I can still appreciate the lyrics but her enunciation has fallen yet again lol. the beat feels like a lot like other songs on the album but I like the production as a whole. her vocals in the chorus are glorious but the verses...not so much lol. if the song was more in the same vein as the prechorus and the chorus then I think I would like it a lot more. 6/10

break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored - what could’ve been something great is something that is....not lmao. a weak closer to the album in an otherwise cohesive body of work. the chorus is bleh along with the production. her vocals aren’t being showcased and is the type of song that made me dislike sweetener. the lyrics aren’t anything to write home about either. overall a meh song, I probably won’t revisit it. 5/10

overall: significantly better than sweetener and a lot more cohesive as a body of work and overall better in all areas of the album making process but also raises questions as to wtf ariana was smoking when she recorded and released sweetener. my opinion of ariana hasn’t really changed, I think she still is problematic in what she’s said/done in the lead up to this era and her stans are driving people away from supporting her. I feel like people will hail this as absolutely fantastic, and while it’s a good album, I don’t feel like there are any career defining moments on it or stand out tracks, it’s a safe album that people will welcome with open arms after the mess of the sweetener era.
