Okay so, I was saving up primos when I heard Xiao is having rerun soon, I had 60-70 pity,(guaranteed) and saved up 34 wishes, so you could say he's already in my pocket

When I was going to wish, I was happy and talking about how long I was waiting for him, then my younger sis came and asked if she can roll first, I said "sure go ahead" And the wish was gold, meaning it's 5star. We started joking how her finger is magical and I surely didn't have high pity and guaranteed

BUT THEN. I SKIPPED THE REST AFTER XIAO AND WHAT I SEE IS.

I started actually screaming. Like. "OH MY GOD GIRL YOUR FINGER IS ACTUALLY MAGICAL!! invu - taeyeon, inkigayo 220220 // honestly, i'm just obsessed with the choice to use the led floor panels to to simulate a pool, ringed with the surrounding greenery. the rest of the designs is great but lighting effects are always gonna get me

voyager - kihyun, music core 220319 // i LOVE this ship, it's a great way to work the band into the stage with different levels all in association with the theme.

louder - tan, inkigayo 220626 // could not tell you what is going on here. a.c.e's stylist seems to be periodically working with tan and so their styling ranges from fine to excellent to batshit insane on any given day and every single louder stage is a hit. honestly all of their cbs almost made my top stylings list just for the sheer insanity of them.

this GORGEOUS staging of kim jaehwan's back then, it's one of the few times that i've seen in the round used properly in a kpop context and maybe the only time i've seen it on a music show? also great set design and it looks so good with his pinwheel lightsticks.

tbh i just picked a random ascension stage for this, bc the sheer amount of production value they put into everything they do deserves being viewed even if they didn't make any of my other lists. prop kings, literally.

I just really want to share my gacha experience and best luck ever and some of the worst cuz I'm addicted to gachas since 2017 and oh my god how many of those have I played.

Fgo bullies me almost all the time, but what years of playing it taught me is that if you honestly love your waifu/hasubando, they'll come, like Heroine X Alter or Sigurd or Lanling(4 copies in 10 tickets!! holy shit that man loves me!). I also occasionally get 5☆ one after another or in like 2-3 multis. Heroine X Alter is my only np2 SSR though. Foreigners and assasins love me. But riders and lancers... Where u at, homies?? No 5☆ of those at both jp and na, except for Europa that I picked for 5☆ ticket.

Then there's twst jp. Epel is my best man fr. When his dorm card was released I got 2nd Riddle and then the country boy himself straight after not even getting to 50 pulls. And when I aimed to get his groom card he also brought me Ace in first multis, ehehe. But when I was pulling for Epel's SSR in winter event he got me Jamil instead, also in first 10, I'm still mad. When Vargas camp was released I got Ruggie in first 10. My worst pulls in twst ever were in 1st Halloween event. I had to grind 25/8 for Vil and he only got home in 100 pulls. Last card literally. I'm happy that at least I didn't lose 50/50. Queen is mean :')

And then I also had some lucky genshin rolls that I didn't screen. My first 5☆ was Xiao and he came at around 75, soft pity. And then during first Zhongli banner, when I was rolling for Yanfei, I got Zhongli at 89 and Qiqi at 90. That was very spontaneous. No Yanfei still though. Then I lost soft pity to Jean, but I wanted her so it was fine. I got Raiden guaranteed thanks to that. And a few months ago I got Kokomi on soft pity! My artifacts luck is on next level. I guess I just must build crit Kokomi with these arts.

What got me into gachas was bungo stray dogs mayoi inu kaikitan. My first account was filled with SSRs and first UR that were released, but I lost it after 2 years of grinding. It still hurts. Then I got second one in jp and it's going great! No crazy multis or anything like that though. My best was 2 basic SSRs and no event SRs in one event multi. It's good but at the same time so damn disappointing. My na account has some good cards, but it's mainly Lucy SSR carrying me through all events and story. F for my first acc.

Then I also had Obey Me! phase. This game's gacha fucking sucks period. I lasted for about a year until I lost my account again. All this time the gacha was pure hell, devs didn't give much to pull. I had basic Mammon and Belphegor SSRs carry me, then I somehow got "something to tell you" Satan and maxed it out, it was my favourite card and I fucking lost my acc. This game's gacha and power scale system are so frustrating that I can't get myself to play the game again. I remember grinding a lot just to progress 3-5 levels and then grinding again. I love the story and the boys so much, but damn it's a tough love.

Then I got into bunaru when you could use ink to only get new writers. It's a pretty nice game with a pretty mean gacha. My dream combo were Nagai Kafuu and Shimazaki Touson, they got me 80% of my gold. No rainbows though. New system seems ehh, it can be frustrating.

And I'm also into Nikki games. Love Nikki is frustrating and when I just started playing it I was so confused about everything, there was just too much! Shining Nikki is great and its gacha system is fine, I love it when there's guaranteed. I get all URs in events thought and 50% of those are basic 2 sets. It took me 75 pulls to get full oceanic reverie set without 2nd reflection though and man that was infuriating. But overall I really love the game.

I also played Time Princess. Yes, dress up games are my guilty pleasure. Gacha? Quite nice. Story? Interesting. I love that they have female love interests for female mc, otomes need more of those!

And I also started playing Honkai Impact in September. This game is a masterpiece. I got HoH in my first multi! She carries me. Gacha was kind of strange for me at first but I understood it in a week. It can be frustrating and it takes time grinding, but you need just 1 good valkyrie from gacha and then you can get more from shop. Elysia is life, Elysia is love, breathe if you agree.

Then I tried Tower of Fantasy. I got 2 basic SSRs from gacha and 1 from release gift. In basic gacha I got the cube in 30 pulls and then the chakram in 30 pulls from limited banner. Gacha there has been kind enough to me but the grind it takes to get gacha currency.... And the game itself is fine, but it's rather repetitive and the story is kind of boring.

And also, does it only stop Dixingren? What about Yashou? What about humans? Cuz I’m pretty sure they don’t want a random person to come into the SID with the Hallows there, even if this person is a mere human with no powers or anything.

If the barrier only reacts to dark energy then it’s supposed to stop Yshou and Dixingren. In that case, what’s stopping Zhu Jiu from tricking a human in a vulnerable position into stealing the Hallows for him from the SID while everyone else is busy? The SID barrier really wouldn’t work as their primary security measure then.

About what Wang Zheng said, they’re taking into consideration that the human SID members might become something not human? Then that’s really weird cuz they’re still not meant to know anything about Ouyang’s research, and it’s just.. supernatural doesn’t translate well to sci-fi at all holy shit

Lemme tell you something. Each bit I comment on, I go over it 3 - 4 times.

Once just to watch it, second time to take screenshots and note down the timestamps (just in case I accidentally lose the screenshots), sometimes I need to go over a couple more times for this to get the right screenshots. And the third/fourth time, I write down my thoughts and feelings in order and any particular dialogue.

I am NOT going over this embarrassment 3 - 4 times! I can’t handle stuff like this!

I completely forgot that Ding Dun appears this early on.

Like, my earliest memory of him is from the episode where Zhao Yunlan visits Dixing. Then, it was like the show was expecting me to recognize Ding Dun as someone somewhat significant, except I don’t remember this scene at all, not his face anyway.

A lot happens between the two incidents.

Ding Dun is probably the child of the captain of the squad that Wu Tian’en was in  that was dispatched to Haixing 20 years ago, the one mentioned in episode 5. I can’t think of something else that Shen Wei is investigating at the moment that the audience is meant to know about.

I’m not 100% sure but this bit with Hai Pao Shi asking “what’s wrong?” is significant in some way. I’m just not entirely sure if it’s significant in the way I think it is.

Zhu Jiu just standing there touching leaves on the side of the street.

This is simultaneously hilarious and very sad.

So, plants aren’t much of a thing on Dixing and neither is fresh air.

Also, from the way they interact, it’s like Ding Dun and Zhu Jiu are of similar importance to Ye Zun.

Not exactly important for this scene, and I’ll elaborate on it properly sometime later, but I’m starting to think Zhu Jiu’s whole wannabe-Ye-Zun act has more to it.

What if that’s a permanent side effect of long-term/chronic brainwashing?

Also, like... Ding Dun’s dead, but he was clearly alive enough to steal and destroy the Dijun booklet and then stab Zhao Yunlan with scissors. Gotta actually remember this Ding Dun this time around for long enough to understand the explanation for this if we do get one. :/

So which is it? It might not be important here because we already know that Shen Wei won’t use his full powers on Haixing and endanger his identity. We know Zhu Jiu also knows. But still. That’s some difference.

I won’t be trying to take screenshots of the fight sequences, as usual, but I loved them so much okay. One good thing about Zhu Jiu is he helps show off Shen Wei’s awesome close combat skills.

Cuz that was when Shen Wei hurt Zhu Jiu, and he just said he’s fully recovered now after two months. A timeskip and I had no idea there was one at all until now.

Ugh I somehow find the Yashou so confusing. Their neutrality, their normal lifespan, how integrated to human societies they really are, why they’re fine with being on Haixing for so long despite having dark energy, etc.

Yashou came with Dixingren, so Yashou should have dark energy too. And I think Zhao Yunlan’s anti-Dixingren gun works on Yashou too. But they’re all living on Haixing in background white energy. Does this not effect the Yashou? Or do they have a way to deal with it?

I wonder if this particular flower tribe Yashou has any idea who Shen Wei is beyond Professor Shen the nice Dixingren.

It’s the way she’s talking to him that makes me think. She seems to be acting in an older sister manner. She’s also pretty casual and borderline rude with him. She hands him honesty free of fear or reverence. She worries for his safety, something no one did until Zhao Yunlan and until he started getting significantly weaker. At this point, he doesn’t really need to be worried for, if that makes sense. If she knew he was Hei Pao Shi, she’d know that he’s crazy strong.

And then there’s how Shen Wei’s talking to her. There is none of his commanding Hei Pao Shi attitude, or that cool detachment. He’s being just Shen Wei with her. He isn’t like with anyone who knows he’s Hei Pao Shi, except for Zhao Yunlan later of course.

And then there’s the fact that later when Zhu Hong’s fourth uncle meets Shen Wei, he knows immediately who Shen Wei is and treats him with the appropriate respect. But then the other members of the snake tribe has no idea. So the chiefs of the tribes know only.

NIF 2 EP 42

The series is so pretty. Watching it hi-def on my 52 inch television is amazing.

That fricking gazebo. It is definitely the same one in the first series; the one that Mei Changsu and Nihuang met under, the one MCS stayed under for so many of the scenes where he watched over, watched after or waited. Every time I see that gazebo I get feels. I can't believe I just typed that sentence.

Watching ep 37 proper. Don't want to rehash what I said (XIAO TINGSHENG! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!). The full convo between Lin Xi and Pingzing is devastating in its stark truth. But it is literally the conversation I wish would happen in EVERY OTHER FICTIONAL TEXT. What other show or book actually depict a conversation about consent, guilt between all parties involved?! (I'm looking at you Doctor Who, never forget what you did to Donna)? It is satisfying on a level I can't even truly articulate, an actual real, mature and emotional conversation that needs to happen but rarely do in fictional text (whether Eastern or Western).

Feizhang is amazing. I like how the show finally came out and stated what the viewers have been screaming since he was introduced. He love Qianxue but he knows exactly where he is in her life. I love his type of character; righteous and stoic, never forcing himself onto others, and just so moral. RUN AWAY FROM THE XUN FAMILY!! Enjoy jianhu! Be free!! Climb the Lang Ya ranking!! Gods, please let the ending of this show provide me a slip of hope that he and Qianxue might have something in the future, like a decade in the future or something. He also seemed so happy to be not at court.

I love Yuanqi and Pingjing's outfit upgrade.

Yuanqi - le sigh. Though that first shot of him after the time skip, and the sound effect was amazing. He is also so very smart about getting backing. The genius of his actions is that he provides the truth and let people's nature take their course. You got to applaud that level of manipulation.

Poor Anru. To go from such happiness to such anguish. But holy crap, she saved her handmaid by providing her a 'death' by drowning. She knew Pai'er was a strong swimmer. There is just so much going on in her head. Also, she is fascinating because she knew shit was going down but avoided situations where she would learn more and ignored her instincts. She is smart enough to know when to stop asking questions, and ALL her actions are based on her upbringing (Chinese Confucianism), Yuanqi is her husband and the underlying threat is pretty damn explicit. There is no other road for her, and YET! Saving Pai'er on the downlow. I really like her. And it makes me giggle because a large part of Yuanqi's downfall is going to be at the hand of a 'genteel woman'.

Also, Pai'er. Oh gods, I know she is a plot device/character but I spent most of the time wanting to scream at her. STOP ASKING QUESTIONS AND LISTENING TO CONVOS YOU SHOULDN'T.

Lin Chen being biased, and then being embarrassed about it. Lols. But he is so right - Pingjing is part of the court, once he find out certain info he can't let go. And Lin Jiu is so very pointed about Lin Chen's involvement with the court, and how could never deny information to certain people. Also, Lin Chen had AT LEAST NINE (9) KIDS. Ahahahaha!  All those beauties.

LOVE the new general - Yue? So smart, serious and like a dog with a bone. Also, love his 2IC, and of course they would pick up Pai'er. All the threads are coming together. I'm so curious about his role in the future.

I love Pingjing's apology to Lin Xi because it isn't just an apology about the fake engagement, it is an apology that he can't go with her but must return to court. And so much more. YET! HE STILL WANTS TO STAY, AND BASICALLY GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO NOT RETURN TO THE CAPITAL. POOR CHILD.

The wigs in this show is amazing. I'm trying to figure out how much of it is the actor's hair.

The implicit and explicit gender commentary of China on this show is awesome.
