ID: 1a. Waist up of Castiel opening the front door of a home with a blank expression, wearing a blue robe completely open. John Winchester is standing on the doorstep, back to the viewer. 1b. Reverse shot. John looks down at Cas's exposed junk, brow furrowed, but says nothing. A floating bar next to his head titled 'homophobia loading' is half full.
2a. Reverse shot back to Cas. Dean's voice rings out from somewhere in the house: "Baby, do you want chocolate chip pancakes?" Without taking his eyes off John or changing his expression, Cas replies, "Of course, my love." John keeps staring at his exposed junk. 2b. Repeat. John looks up just in time for the door to slam in his face.
3. Screenshot of a tumblr post by slaygentford that says "Cas answering the door to John in heaven wearing that robe, nothing under it, dick out while sounds of dean cooking come from within the house is truly worse for him than the fifty whatever years he spent being tortured in hell." A reblog by unrequitedloveisabitch says "had to immortalize your tags deanspurpleflannel they are too perfect not to XD" and has a screenshot of tags by deanspurpleflannel that read "#john: #cas: #dean in the distance: Baby, do you want chocolate chip pancakes? <3 #cas without breaking eye contact with john: of course my love <3 #and then he closes the door." /end ID

We’ve all heard of ace!Cas, but how about some ace!Dean?
Ohhhh yes!
Alright you know what we're writing this as a coming out to an asshole John because I feel like writing it as coming out to Sam wouldn't be that interesting.
~an hour later~
TW for sl/rs, homophobia, some violence but eventually cuteness
They were sitting at a cafe on a Wednesday. John was flipping through a newspaper idly while Sam had gone to get some coffee and pastries. Why oh why is this so hard? Dean took a deep breath in threw his nose and exhaled slowly before opening his eyes. John was staring at him.
“You good?” his father asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Actually, I need to talk to you about something,” Dean responded, twisting his fingers nervously.
“What is it, son?” John leaned forward and set his hands on the table, an old gesture to show that he carried no weapons. Of course, this wasn’t true.
“Um… so… I don’t know-” his voice cracked. Dammit.
“Dean, are you okay?”
Breath you idiot. It’s okay. You’re in a public space, he won’t hurt-
But he wasn’t. He was 15 years old, wearing a leather jacket and enough hair oil to grease a truck. And his dad was telling him to go flirt with a woman to get information. He was 16 years old, red marks on his face for refusing to grab a gun from a man because it was tucked in his crotch and letting him get away. He was 17 years old, stance crooked and being told to take a woman to bed in order to get what they needed. He was 18 years old, internally wincing as he groped a werewolf and tricked one into safety before his dad finished the group. He was 19 years old, face bloody from a fight that “could have been avoided” if he had slept with someone. It went on and on and on…
“Dean!” John cried, gently slapping his son’s face to get him to snap out of it. “Dean, son, what is going on?!”
“I’m asexual!” Dean blurted out finally, tears running down his face. “I’m asexual and gay, Dad!”
“What the bloody hell does that mean?” he responded, jerking his hand back. “You’re one of them f-”
“Don’t. You. Dare,” a voice said. Sam stepped forward and his shadow leaned over John. “You have no right to that word. Dean is trusting you with something very personal and you had better as fuck listen before I beat your ass.”
“As if you could! Dean, I didn’t raise a sissy! I raised you to be a-”
SMACK. John’s neck snapped to the side as Sam’s hand connected with it.
“STOP IT! Stop it, you two! Dad, I don’t feel sexual attraction and I like guys! That’s it! End of story! We’re leaving!” Dean yelled.
Near sobbing, he stood up, knocking his chair back. Sam shot a last glare at John before they turned and walked back to the car. By the time they got there, Dean’s collar was soaked and Sam’s eyes were misty. Dean yanked open the passenger door and gestured for Sam to take the wheel. The whole drive back to the bunker, Dean cried. He cried and cried and cried.
Why oh why did I expect anything different?
By the time they reached the bunker, he was still crying but less heavily. Sam got out, grabbed the food from the cafe, and helped Dean out of the car. They opened the door to the smell of cake in the oven.
“Cas? We’re- um, we’re back,” Sam called out.
“In the kitchen!” Cas yelled back. “How did it-”
He stopped short when he saw Dean sobbing in his brother’s arms. Without a word, Cas walked up and pulled his boyfriend into his arms.
“I got you, baby. I got you, my dear. I’ve got you right here, my love. My human. My person.”
A hot shower later, they sat around a table eating a rainbow cake. The tears were dried and wiped away, kisses were exchanged, and Cas and Dean celebrated their one year anniversary.
“We don’t need anyone but those who love us,” Cas whispered before happily shoving a piece of cake into his lover’s face.

happy dadfucker friday! how do you think john justifies his relationship with dean to himself? is he tortured by it? in denial? shameless? or is it more complicated than both of those things? same ask to everyone this week as i am, as ever, keen on learning the general consensus 👀
so i subscribe to the "dean is trans" headcanon so my everything is shaped by that
i think that, particularly in moments of sobriety, john is nearly sick with himself because he's dragged both of his kids into this and he's turned his eldest into a pseudo-wife. initially, dean was a stand-in mother and john was so lonely and couldn't stop himself, by this point in my mind dean had also started engaging in sex work (because how the fuck else are they paying for GAS tbh) and it becomes a bit of a twisted miasma of attraction and shame and pride in his boy for doing the work that he "cant"
when things are less sober i think there's a lot less shame and a lot more pride in all of the ways he "owns" dean and all the ways dean shows his love for his dad and his brother, including with his body
