Hongseok: Make Damn Sure
Tumblr media
Characters: Hongseok x female reader
Genre/warnings: mafia au, angst, literally just a lot of angst, toxic relationship stuff (like the whole thing is just one big very very mentally/emotionally abusive relationship), cheating, murder, kidnapping, there’s literally no fluff here ok
Word count: 2,792
Summary: I just wanna break you down so badly. Well I trip over everything you say. I just wanna break you down so badly in the worst way.
a/n: hi yes as u can probably tell this was inspired by makedamnsure by taking back sunday. i’ve actually had this in my drafts for a long time but i kinda forgot about it????
Hongseok paced back and forth by the door, waiting for you to come back. He knew damn well you were back at the bar you always ran off to so you could avoid the tense feeling when your boyfriend was around. He was well aware of the feeling because he felt it too. He wasn’t sure when the two of you changed, but things felt different, and while the two of you only addressed it when you got into heated arguments, neither of you ever seemed to pull the plug and end things.
For whatever reason, neither of you wanted to.
Maybe you found a bit of pleasure in the way you made Hongseok’s face go red as he screamed at you. Maybe he sometimes enjoyed seeing the tears streaming down your cheeks that were caused by him. There was something both of you enjoyed about hurting the other, and while it was absolutely sick and twisted, neither of you bothered to leave. So it was a constant cycle of Hongseok always being gone, you avoiding him when he’d come home, the two of you getting into a screaming match, and the cycle continuing.
Things hadn’t always been bad. Deep down, you both must’ve loved each other because you absolutely did before and why else wouldn’t you just leave each other? But somewhere between him always being gone and you being fed up with not seeing him, your relationship evolved into something that couldn’t even be considered a relationship at this point.
As soon as the front door opened, Hongseok stopped and glared at you, crossing his arms over his chest. You were already expecting him to be waiting so you just sighed, keeping your eyes trained on the floor as you shut the door.
“You know I hate how you go to the bar every night,” he scolded.
“And you know I hate being told what to do,” you grumbled back.
He scoffed, rolling his eyes, “Don’t feed me that bullshit. You knew going into this that I had to be controlling considering I’m in the mafia and everything wants me and everything I’ve ever loved dead.”
“Oh good, so I’m safe,” you offered a sarcastic smile, finally looking back at him.
Hongseok took a step closer, causing you to step back and press your back against the door as he tried to make himself seem far bigger than you, “If you keep this attitude up, you won’t be.”
Despite stepping back, you weren’t that afraid of him. Hongseok had threatened you before but he never went through with it. You knew he didn’t have it in him to physically hurt you.
You rolled your eyes, stepping around him, “You don’t have the balls.”
As you brushed past him, he gripped your wrist tightly, almost making you second guess him. But he hesitated before letting out a sigh, still staring at the ground by the door and dropping your wrist.
“Just go upstairs,” he growled. “You’re lucky you’re my girlfriend or--”
“Or what, Mr. I’m-Scary-Because-I’m-In-The-Mafia?” you chuckled coldly as you went upstairs, not bothering to look behind you.
You knew you were making things worse, but that was how you and Hongseok interacted. You’d egg each other on despite knowing it was best to stop. You just couldn’t stop.
There was one surefire way to really get under your skin which would effectively end the conversation. There was one insecurity of yours that Hongseok used to always reassure you would never be a problem, but now tended to use it against you. And when he really didn’t want to deal with you, he’d always bring it up.
“Y’know, I could just leave you and find someone better,” he smirked, tilting his head to one side as he looked up at you. You were halfway up the stairs when you stopped and looked at him over your shoulder. You wanted to punch his perfect smirk off his beautiful goddamn face. “You’re so easily replaceable, remember? I can have anyone and anything I want. Piss me off enough and you’ll be out of this house faster than you can say ‘oops’.”
Hongseok had always been perfect. He looked perfect, he acted perfect. He was intelligent, sweet, understanding, and everything he did, he seemed to excel at. So when you first started dating, you were worried he would find someone better. You felt you were so plain compared to him. The guy looked like he should be dating a supermodel, but he picked you out of everyone he had.
Even now, while you hated his guts, you still didn’t like that he held that over you.
You glared at him, eyes turning glossy.
“Go fuck yourself,” you spat before turning and running up the stairs to your shared bedroom, slamming the door behind you.
Hongseok sighed before carrying on up the stairs, taking his time.
“Well it’s not like you do anymore,” he chuckled to himself.
By the time he was done getting ready for bed, you were already curled up in bed on your side. He entered the bedroom, barely sparing a glance at you who he assumed was silently crying under the covers as he made his way over to his side and got into bed. He turned off the lamp on his nightstand before getting comfortable and closing his eyes. He hadn’t tried to cuddle with you in months and you knew that wasn’t going to change -- not that you wanted it to. You still shared the same bed but never slept close enough to touch each other. But that was just how things were. You were hardly a couple anymore but neither of you would leave.
Truthfully, you liked the danger of being with Hongseok too much because your life before him was so cookie cutter and boring. Hongseok still enjoy how normal it felt to be at home with someone after spending long days doing things that most people didn’t do. You wanted Hongseok because he was what you weren’t, and vice versa. Maybe you were both just masochists who couldn’t leave the things that hurt you. It was like a bad addiction where you knew you should quit but you just couldn’t.
-
The doors to their HQ burst open with a disheveled-looking Hongseok striding in. His shirt wasn’t buttoned up all the way, his tie was hardly done, and he was carrying his belt in one hand. His hair was a mess, he looked like he was hardly awake, and the sight made Hui annoyed to no end. He was already pissed that Hongseok was late, but now he was more than likely hungover because he knew it wasn’t anything he’d done with you -- he was well aware of what your relationship was like.
“You take care of it,” Hui grumbled to Wooseok, not even wanting to yell at Hongseok at this point. “I’ll be in my office.”
“Alright,” Wooseok sighed, not exactly thrilled with having to handle Hongseok, but he had to listen to the boss. So he turned to face the older boy while Hui left the room. “Wow, real cool of you to get drunk the night before work. Yeah, you seem like such a tough guy.”
“Not today, Wooseok,” Hongseok grumbled.
“Rough night?”
“You have no idea,” he huffed as he started to put his belt through the loops in his pants. “You know what _____ did this time? She fucked another guy.”
Wooseok just blinked, “...So?”
“So she’s my girlfriend!” Hongseok growled. “She belongs to me!”
“Seemed to me like you didn’t care much about her anymore,” the taller boy shrugged, turning to walk with Hongseok when he met up with him. “Why would you care what she does? Just dump her.”
“No,” he scoffed.
“Why not?”
“It’s complicated.”
“She literally cheated on you,” Wooseok pointed out.
But Hongseok had done the same before, and everyone knew that -- even you. But unlike Hongseok, you tried to be sneaky. You waited until he had left for work to invite the guy over, but you didn’t realize he’d be home early that day. And then he found you on the bed with your legs spread, some guy he’d never seen before on top of you, and his hand around your throat.
Before you could even get a full sentence out, you heard a shot ring out, and then you were covered in red with the guy’s body limp and lifeless on top of you.
Hongseok’s eyes raked over your body underneath the man’s. He merely licked his lips before looking back into your eyes, nodding his head, and leaving with a, “Good luck with that.”
He went out to a bar and didn’t come home until you were fast asleep in the bed that Hongseok had sent men to clean, knowing you wouldn’t be able to take care of it yourself -- but he did it because he wanted a clean bed, not because he wanted to help you.
Hongseok shrugged, “I killed the guy, so we’re even.”
“That’s--” Wooseok paused to let out a deep sigh, “Dude, this isn’t healthy for either of you. Even Hui hates seeing you two like this. Just give it up.”
He shook his head, working to button up his shirt and fix his tie, “You don’t get it, alright? You’ve never been in love before.”
“Are you in love?” Wooseok let out a harsh laugh. “I may not have anyone significant in my life, but I know that shit isn’t love.”
Hongseok stopped and turned to face Wooseok. He glared up at him, but he didn’t move to do anything. He was just annoyed, not angry.
“You don’t know shit,” Hongseok spat, “so just stay out of it.”
Despite the older member’s warning, Wooseok sighed and continued, “If you still love her deep down, why do they two of you literally never get along? Why can’t you even attempt to get along?”
“Shut up, Wooseok. Just drop it.”
Hongseok strode off as Wooseok stopped and stared at him. Honestly, Wooseok wasn’t sure he’d ever understand what Hongseok’s relationship had turned into. He didn’t get why at least you didn’t just leave him -- especially after the stunt he pulled today. But he was apparently wasting his breath and energy trying to talk sense into him. Something inside Hongseok apparently still loved you enough to stick around, and the same must’ve been true for you, but why would you constantly fight that badly with someone you loved?
If that was love, Wooseok didn’t want it.
-
As Hongseok pulled into the driveway, the lights to the house were off. He groaned, knowing you must’ve been out a bar again. This time, he contemplated leaving to get you.
But then he noticed the taillights of your car were on. Were you in the car about to leave? Why would you leave for the bar this late?
As he parked his car and stepped out, you got out of yours. He could see into the back windows that you had suitcases and bags piled up. His heart dropped, but he felt fire burning in his chest, his hands balling into fists at his sides.
“So,” he began, trying to sound casual, “where are you going?”
“Hongseok, you literally shot someone and left him dead on top of me,” you stated as if that would give him the answer he wanted.
He shrugged, “You cheated. Seemed fair.”
“When have I ever killed the three separate girls you’ve intentionally brought home when you knew I would be back from errands?”
“That’s different.”
You let out a deep sigh, shaking your head as you looked into his dark eyes, “Hongseok, I’m done.”
He scoffed, “You say that all the time.”
“But this time, I’m really done,” you insisted, and something flashed in his eyes. For a split second, you were sure it was panic. “That was the last fucking straw. I stuck around and put up with all of this bullshit, but that? Fuck no.”
“You stuck around because you didn’t want to leave,” Hongseok said, trying to convince you that you still wanted to stay. “We stick around because we love each other, and I know you still love me.”
“Do we love each other?” you laughed softly. “All we do is intentionally make the other miserable. And for what?”
“Relationships aren’t always rainbows and sunshine, _____!”
“But they’re not this fucking awful, Hongseok!”
“_____--”
“No,” you stated loudly enough to cut him off. “I’m done. We’re done. I’m leaving for good. You can go off and find that person who’s ‘way better than me’ that you’re always talking about.”
As you turned around to go back into your car, you felt Hongseok tug on your wrist, saying lowly, “I’ll give you one more chance to change your mind.”
You assumed it was like every other time. He was trying to give an empty threat only to give up when you challenged him. You never fell for it, and you weren’t about to now.
“Too bad,” you told him.
But instead of dropping your wrist, his grip tightened. You gasped as he tugged you backwards, your back hitting the side of his car. His hand moved to grip your neck, squeezing it so you couldn’t breathe or scream as you looked into his narrowed eyes.
“You can’t leave me,” he stated like it was a rule he’d put in place for you.
This wasn’t just an empty threat. Something inside Hongseok snapped knowing you were finally going to end it. You weren’t sure why because while somewhere in you, you still loved him -- he was right about that -- you knew this relationship wasn’t a relationship anymore. It wasn’t healthy, and you couldn’t handle it anymore. You had to be the one to end things and leave.
But now you couldn’t.
Hongseok flipped you around, pressing you hard enough into his car that you were sure you would bruise. He quickly yanked his tie off and stuffed it in your mouth as you opened it to scream for help. Then he took of his belt and tied up your hands with it. He opened the back door to his car, shoved you in, buckled you up, and closed the door. Then he went over to the driver’s seat and got in, starting the car back up.
You continued to shout muffled words at him even though he couldn’t hear you. He had taught you plenty of things in your relationship: how to get out of the trunk of someone’s car, how to get out of various ties and binds, and even self defense moves. But there were things Hongseok didn’t teach you, like how to get away from him. You knew how to get out of zipties, but not how to free yourself from a belt. You knew how to fight against any other person, but since Hongseok was the one to teach you all the moves, he knew what to expect. He was the one person you couldn’t get away.
“I’ll make damn sure you can’t leave,” he growled, angry eyes shooting dagger at you in the mirror. “You’re mine, you hear me? You belong to me.”
For the second time ever, you were afraid of Hongseok.
-
HQ. You knew that’s where he would take you. He could tell the lower ranked men that you were a captive, and he could just hide you from the others. The only person who could do anything about it was Hui, but he knew the boss was so fed up with Hongseok’s situation with you that he wouldn’t bother getting involved. You would never be alone, their men would make sure you didn’t escape, and you would be Hongseok’s as long as he wanted. You really wouldn’t be able to leave him.
He shoved you into one of the rooms before he walked in behind you and closed the door. He took the tie out of your mouth and undid the belt only to tie you up properly to a desk chair -- at least it was more comfortable than the wooden one they usually tied people to. You must’ve been in Hongseok’s office.
“What the hell?!” you demanded as Hongseok draped his tie over his shoulders.
“You still love me,” he insisted, “just like I love you. And you’re going to stay here until you realize it.”
“I don’t care if you love me, this is insane!” you shouted.
But he ignored you, turning his back to you and heading for the door. “Yang Hongseok, get back here! Hongseok!”
He left the room, closing and locking the door with you still shouting his name.

Goretober D30: Gone - Pentagon
Tumblr media
Pentagon + Gender Neutral Reader
Warnings: Disappearing themes (somewhat explained, not really), stalker themes, forgotten/abandonment themes, yandere themes? at the end kinda.
Word Count: 1,536
You bounded back into the circle of a group with a soft huff. The guys being boisterous as usual. Only to find that the group was one short of the right number, looking around with furrowed brows as you tried to place his face somewhere.
“Guys where’s Jinho? Is he not back yet? I thought he was right here when I left with Wooseok and Yuto?” You ask the carefree ones who turn to you between laughter looking just as confused as you did.
“Who? Y/N no one’s missing. Everyone’s here. Count again. You don’t have to make up some Jinho character just for laughs. You’re funny enough without doing that.” Hoetaek seems rather calm as he speaks as if he had no memory of the missing man. Just like they’d had no memory of Hyojong when you called him up a week ago only to find that he’d disappeared like Jinho now had.
“I’m being serious you guys, something isn’t right. I-I just want to find our friends before anyone else can disappear.” You sigh softly shaking your head as Hongseok places a hand on your shoulder gently.
“Y/N are you okay? This is the second person you made up now? Are these friends of yours from somewhere else?” Wooseok looks at you with soft eyes and you frown softly.
“N-No they’re our friends....I-I just...I-I don’t know why none of you can remember them.” A sudden sharp pang shoots through your head making your vision spotty and you to wince away holding your head in your hands as you stumble back. Calls of your name from the boys as they rush over to keep you from hitting the ground. When you come back to reality you blink your eyes open to find the spot where Wooseok had been standing empty. Jolting you back with a surge of adrenaline as you look around with no luck as you can’t spot him anywhere.
“Woo? Woo, where are you?” You call out frantically looking around until Hongseok catches you in his arms trying to calm you down.
“Alright Y/N I think you’ve had a long day and it’s getting to you, so just rest up for now and let your head and body recover and in the morning we can maybe talk about this some alright?” Hoetaek doesn’t give you much choice after his reasoning words though having Hongseok and Shinwon escort you to your room to promptly get some rest, which after much tossing and turning finally came when you grew too exhausted to fight it any longer. Your fears confirmed when Shinwon woke you for breakfast the next morning only to find one less person than there was supposed to be at the table. Hoetaek’s spot empty of even a table setting.
“Great! Now Hoetaek’s gone too?” Your voice is pressed and sarcastic, on the verge of tears as Yuto looks at you worried.
“Y/N? Who is Hoetaek? What is going on with you? Please....please talk to us.” Concern bleeding into his voice as he steps over to you, looking over you to check if you were alright.
“People from our group keep disappearing and every time they do you all instantly forget who they are. One person and I thought I was losing my mind, but now four people are missing and I’m kind of really freaking out right now.” Your words quake with panic as you try not to entirely lose your mind especially when they already hadn’t been believing you as is.
“If we helped you look would it calm you some? Don’t know that we’ll find anything. Or if we’ll even believe you without finding anything, but we want to make sure you’re alright and if looking with you will help....then maybe we should just try to figure it out together, alright?” Hyunggu offers and you nod appreciative of the fact that even if they didn’t believe you they were still willing to help you in anyway that they can.
“It would. Why don’t we eat and maybe grab somethings that feel useful and we could start looking around for an explanation?” You suggest and no one argues though Changgu’s eyes are watching you closely, something you chalked up to the concern they all had over your condition especially after you nearly collapsed the night before. Gasping and clutching as it happened again, holding your head in pain and looking around. This time you could only watch as Shinwon disappeared between blinks before your very eyes.
“Y/N?” Yanan calls from your side gently rubbing your back, “Do you want any headache medicine or anything?”
“N-No it’s just.....I-I just watched it happen. S-Shinwon is gone now....l-look his cereal is still there.” You point across the table where sure enough Shinwon no longer was, but a half touched bowl of cereal still sat all alone. That enough to get some of their attention at least.
“Okay, that is weird....maybe Y/N is realizing something the rest of us don’t.” Yuto agrees as Yanan moves to clean it up. Before any of you get a chance to go anywhere or do anything though Changgu clears his throat to get everyone’s attention onto him.
“I think the first thing we need to do is take Y/N to the hospital. At the very least Y/N is getting bad head pains and we need to see what is causing that.” Changgu firmly speaks as he stands from the table to come over and help you up just in case the pain early did anything to throw you off.
“Fine, but nothing is wrong with me you’ll see.” You insist with a soft huff, but don’t fight as they help you into the car. Noticing that there’s going to be one less as Yuto has joined the ranks of missing people somewhere along the way to the car. You’re feeling light headed as you get in though, resting your head against Yanan’s shoulder, but afraid to so much as blink in fear that another would be gone once you did at the rate they were vanishing.
Hongseok helped you out upon arrival and as you sit there the pain comes again gaining the attention of the nurses and staff as you grasp Yanan’s hand tightly. Until you feel it fading away, along with the soft spoken man who had been to your left. Your nails soon digging into your palm as you tried to hold onto him, despite it being no use. You were stuck at the hospital with now just the three boys left when you could be out looking for clues as to what was happening to them and trying to get them back to you and that irritated you. Somehow though it was draining you, making it hard to stay up without help and the pain when it came was crippling in nature.  The nurses quick to get you into a bed and an iv with some pain medication in it for you, something that made you extremely drowsy, despite your fighting it.
“If you need to rest Y/N go ahead. It’s alright.” Hyunggu gives you a soft smile and that is enough to lull you to sleep, something you wouldn’t have done had you known he’d be gone by the time you woke again.
“Here drink some water Y/N it might help. We’re still waiting on some test results, but so far they think you’re just too stressed and it’s negatively affecting your body physically.” Hongseok speaks gently, helping you sit up to drink the water he’s offering. Treating you as if your made of glass, which after they say the effect of these head pains on you seemed rather reasonable. Glancing through the glass wall as you sip on the water to see Changgu speaking to the doctor before returning to you two.
“The doctor said you’re free to go for now. But you have to take it easy for a bit or the headaches get any worse then you need to come back.” Changgu tells you and the two are quick to help you as you practically try to leap from the bed unassisted. Hongseok scolding you under his breath for being reckless with your help you to the car and into a leaned back seat so you could rest.
“Oh wait Hongseok, I forgot to ask what...” Your words die as you turn to look where Hongseok had gotten into the car to see he wasn’t there anymore, “Changgu, everyone else is gone we have to figure out what happened to them before it happens to you too.”
“Oh I already know what happened to everyone else Y/N....after all someone had to be behind it didn’t they?” Changgu’s response is so calm and yet something about his tone of voice is eerie, concerning you and making you feel the need to run.
“W-What is that supposed to mean Changgu?” You stutter hoping this was just a residual of whatever meds they had given to you in the hospital.
“I mean I found a way to get rid of them Y/N. They took too much of your attention and now.....now you can give it all to me. It can be just us two, forever.”

Just - Hongseok
Tumblr media
(Admin: Sxng)
“I’m just going to say what I want to, okay?” Hongseok says sightly shakily, you not waiting for him to continue, “I like you, go on a date with me,” he rushes.
Your eyes widen at the suddenness of his confession a smile finding its way onto your features. You hum nodding your head.
“Yes, I would love that,” you expect, “text me, we can find out when’s best,” you laugh.
Hongseok hums nodding his head turning his phone in his hand: “Do you want me to walk you to your apartment?”
He gestures down the street in the direction of your building. You hum starting to walk him following along beside you. The two of you talk mindlessly amongst yourself about lectures and things that have happened in your lessons.
“Where do you want to go, on a date?” Hongseok mutters softly, you hum pondering the question.
“An at-home movie date could be fun,” you suggest, “I like the idea of just sitting under blankets, watching movies, eating whatever we decide to order,” you laugh, “I don’t want to do anything that’s too much like a drama,” you attempt to explain.
“What do you mean?” He asks stopping to turn towards you.
“You know, dramas always have those fancy extravagant date scenes, my friends always talk about how they want to go on dates like those,” you pause, “some of them are nice though, like I wouldn’t mind just going on a walk through a park and eating lunch, if I’m with you, it’ll be fun,” you trail off your voice getting softer, starting to walk again.
Hongseok lets out a laugh taking quick steps to catch up to you.

Summary: You work on a project with fuckboy!Hongseok where you had a crush on when you were younger. Your bestfriend!Hwitaek doesn’t like him at all. He doesn’t know you are in secretly in love with him. In fact you don’t even know it.
In this story you will make your own choice when it comes to genre and ending. If you choose Hongseok’s ending it will be Fluff. If you choose Hwitaek’s ending it will be angst and fluff
(Disclaimer: The idea of multiple endings has been done before, I forgot the fanfiction I read that did something like it too, but it was good haha)
Tumblr media
"Y/N? Where the hell are you?" you hear Hwitaek scream through the phone. "I am so sorry. Please distract the professor for one more day. I will be on time tomorrow. I promise!" you say before hanging up. You run towards the school entrance. When you finally made your way up the stairs you sneak into the classroom. You see that your best friend Hwitaek is still busy talking with your professor, probably about some bullshit question he already knows the answer to. You sign to Hwitaek that you are here. He sees you, thanks the professor and walks back to his seat next to you.
"Why are you late this time?" Hwitaek whispers to you as the lecture starts. "I overslept today, because I was working on a project with Hongseok last night" you answer. "That is a new one" he says and chuckles. "Wait, isn't that Hongseok guy the one from Class 2B? The one you had a crush on in elementary school?". "Jup, that is the Hongseok I was talking about. But I promise you I will be on time tomorrow". "Good, I can't save your ass everyday".
After the lecture you and Hwitaek decide to get some lunch at your favorite café. It is a café you guys went to ever since you had your own money to pay for drinks. Today it was your day to treat Hwitaek, also because you had to make up to him. "So.. How is this Hongseok guy?" Hwitaek says and stirs in his coffee. He doesn't look at you, which strikes you at odd behavior for Hwitaek. You have been friends for so long. Hwitaek always looks at you when asking questions, unless he is uncomfortable or insecure. You still answer the question. "I don't know man. I am kinda confused actually. All the girls from 2C and 2B told me Hongseok was bad news and stuff. But I don't know what they mean. He is really sweet and kind while working on the project. He didn't make a move whats however, so I don't know why they call him the project player".
"I heard from Carly from 2D that that is also one of his tactics" Hwitaek says and takes a bite from his sandwich. "What is?" you say confused. "He pretends to be the nice guy and doesn't make a move in the first 2 weeks of the project, so you think you are different and than he will try to get in your pants the very next day" Hwitaek says with his mouth full. "Do you really think I would sleep with him after 2 weeks of knowing him?". "Hey you know I trust you on that, but I don't trust Hongseok at all. I don't like him to break your heart or anything". "That is sweet Hwitaek, but I promise you I am not going to fall for his tricks".  Hwitaek smiles at you and puts his hand on yours. "I know, but if he does anything you don't like just tell him you have a boyfriend and you will be fine". "And who is that suppose to be?" you say laughing. You take a sip of your tea. "I am" Hwitaek says dramatically and as extra as he can be. You laugh even though his comment made your heart jump. To him it could just be a joke, but to you it is different. Recently, you have been feeling a bit more strange around him. His smile makes you blush more often and his compliments mean more to you than they did before. You try to ignore it and just enjoy your lunch with him.
"Did you bring your books?" Hongseok says and takes your coat. Tonight you are working on the project at Hongseok's home. You were feeling more nervous than the past days. In a way you don't want the rumours about Hongseok to be true. You liked him all the way through elementary school. Back then you could only dream of the fact that you would work on a project with Hongseok together. Your feelings are a lot less strong since you know he changed a lot when he entered university. But still there is so much to Hongseok that is appealing to you.
"Yes I got them in my bag. Shall we start on the project?" you say as professional as possible. Hongseok laughs at you. "What's up? You seem so tense?" he says as he leads you the way to the living room. "I- I just feel nervous because I never have been to a project partners house before" you lie. "It is kinda the same as going to a friend though, just a bit more boring because of all the studying" He says. You laugh. "Yeah you are right".
You work on the project and again Hongseok isn't making any move. It makes you think about what Hwitaek said at lunch. For some reason that makes you feel more nervous. Is it because he is not attracted to you or is it one of is tactics or are all the rumors just not true. "Okay, let's take a break. I can see something is up. What is it?" This eyes are on yours now and it makes you blush. Before you know you say "I just can't read you". Hongseok smiles, but looks confused. "What do you mean?". "Well, you know with all the rumors around you and stuff. I know you tend to sleep around and I have a constant feeling that you aren't trying anything on me because you don't find me attractive" you say and look down, instantly regretting everything you just said. Hongseok is quite for awhile. "The rumors are true" he says after awhile. You look disappointed and still don't look at him. He lifts up your chin. "But I didn't make a move on you, not because I don't find you attractive, but because I like you..." he says calmly. "I liked you for awhile and I knew from some girls that you liked me too. I am scared you would think bad about me like all the others. It kinda hurts knowing you already did" he looks down at his book. "No, o my god, that is not what I meant... I-I". Hongseok chuckles softly and scratches the back of his head. "It is okay, I deserved it. I just hope I can change your way of thinking of me".
Now is the  time to choose one of the two members.  Scroll down to the member you have chosen to continue the story. Both endings will be completely different (even when it comes to genre).
You chose HONGSEOK
Tumblr media
"It is okay, I deserved it. I just hope I can change your way of thinking of me" Hongseok says. "I mean, I really like you... I want to take you out on a date. Not to get you into bed, but because I think you are awesome and sweet". You blush because of his words.  "But I understand that you can't trust me after all the stuff I have done".
You turn to him. "Listen, I like you too, but you are right I have to learn to trust you first. So hear me out" you start. Hongseok looks up surprised by your answer. "Let's finish the project first. That means we have to work a whole month without making moves. Since we work together we will have enough time to get to know each other. If we still like each other after a month than I will gladly go out with you". Hongseok smiles and says "Is that all?". You laugh and continue "Nope. If you want me to trust you, you need to stop sleeping around and don't try your moves on other girls". Hongseok agrees. "I am serious about this, I am not joking around or trying anything. I am thankful you are giving me a chance". "We will see where this goes" you say and smile at him.
You never thought Hongseok would really take it serious. New rumors were going through the second year classes. Most were focused on Hongseok's drastic change of behavior. Some were about Hongseok having a girlfriend. Some were even about you. People noticed you were spending more time together. You got to know a whole new side of Hongseok as well. You really get to know someone when you hear them laugh so uncontrollably that their "real laugh" comes out. That unashamed laughed. You spend nights working on the project, but also on getting to know one another.
Hongseok is really sweet and kind. He also kept his promise of not sleeping round and trying anything on other girls. The only thing that was hard on him was not trying anything on you, because he got to like you more and more. It was also difficult for you. You told Hwitaek all about the deal with Hongseok. He said that you really have to commit to your own rules, because otherwise he might take advantage of you. If you kissed him before the project was over, it would be more easy for him to go back to sleeping around, because he always gets what he wants.
This was the most difficult. You fell in love with Hongseok. The feelings from elementary school came back, but stronger. Luckily it was almost the end of the project. Hwitaek still doesn't trust Hongseok completely, but he trusts you on your decisions and will support it if you guys end up together.
Monday arrives. It has been 4 days since the deadline of the project. You and Hongseok meet up at your house. The professor told you your grade will be up online today. You two want to check it out together. You sit behind your laptop on the couch, constantly refreshing the page. "He said it will be up right now... where is it then...?" you say frustrated. Hongseok sits close to you and rests his head on your shoulder to watch the screen as well. "It might take awhile, your wifi was bad last week too, remember?". It is quiet for a while. Hongseok breaks the silent. "I- I. uhm I was wondering i-".
"There it is!" you interrupt him.  "O my god ! I didn't think would get such a high grade!?" you say surprise. You and Hongseok jump off the couch and hug. he picks you up and swings you around. "Yes! We did it!". He puts you down, but he doesn't let go. "I- I wanted to say". Again you interrupt Hongseok, but this time with a kiss. Hongseok was so shocked that he didn't kiss you back. You pull away and look at him. "I trust you. Can you trust me too?" you say and look at him. "Finally, yes! I trust you" he says. You kiss him again and he kisses back. "Do you want to go out with me, Y/N?". "Yes, let's go".
You chose HWITAEK
Tumblr media
"It is okay, I deserved it. I just hope I can change your way of thinking of me" Hongseok says and moves closer. You turn to him. "Listen, I liked you a lot, but this doesn't feel right". "I can make you feel right though". Before you can say anything else he kisses you. You don't kiss back because you are so shocked. You pull him away. Hongseok looks annoyed. "What is it?". "I just told ou! Why did you kiss me?". "Seriously why do you gotta be so difficult?".
"Hongseok, all you want is to get into girl's pants. And I don't want to be one of them". Hongseok doesn't listen and tries to kiss you again. "Hongseok! I have a boyfriend stop!". Hongseok laughs hard at you as if you just told a joke. "You? Yeah sure, love. That friend of yours probably told you to say that didn't he". Offended and angry you stand up. "All guys are like this even that stupid friend of yours". "He is nothing like you!" you say angrily. "You will see, he will tell you he likes you too". You don't want to hear any more. "I am going. Good luck with the project" you hiss at him. You storm off. At the ride home all you can do is cry. You feel foolish and dumb that you believed his words. "but I like you" his words are still in your head. You wanted to hear those words so badly, but knowing it was all an act makes your heart ache.
At some point, you can't even see where you are going because of your tears. You have to sit and calm yourself down. You want to call up Hwitaek. He is the only one that can calm you down right now. Yet you still don't call him. You feel to ashamed and afraid. Your feelings are all over the place. "He will tell you he likes you too". No Hwitaek doesn't like me that way. This night with Hongseok made your feelings for Hwitaek more clear. Once he kissed you didn't feel good. You walk the rest of the way home. You turn off your phone and go to sleep.
10 pm. You are 2 hours late for the lecture. You promised Hwitaek to be on time today. You stay in bed and turn on your phone. 5 missed calls and more than 40 messages for Hwitaek. All say you need to call him back. You ignore it, because you are really afraid to tell Hwitaek what happened and because of the feelings you have towards him.
A loud bang on your front door wakes you up. You quickly fix your sleepy face and run down stairs to answer the door. "Hello who is th-" you say as you open the door. It is Hwitaek out of breath. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU MADE ME GO THROUGH" he yells at you. He hugs you tight and you feel him shake. "I thought something terrible had happened". Your tears come up again and you let them all go. "I am so sorry..." you say sobbing. "What happened, please tell me".
You tell him about last night and what happened. "That dick... He totally deserved the slap in the face I gave him today" Hwitaek hisses to himself "You hit him?" you ask. "Yeah, he was spreading rumors that you were all over him last night. I know you and you won't do that so I figured he was spreading lies". "Thank you" you say. Hwitaek sits next to you on the couch and puts his hand on yours. You pull your hand away. "I am so sorry". "Did something else happen you didn't tell me?". He always knows this stuff, so annoying. "He told me even you were going to say you like me to get into my pants. I know he is lying, but still I don't know what trust anymore". Hwitaek grabs your hand and turns your face to his.
"Listen Y/N, You mean the world to me. Probably more than you think. I would never say I like you to sleep with you. I don't even had the courage to tell you I like you two years ago". You heart drops. "Hwitaek, if you are pranking me right now. I will kick you in the balls. Don't do this after what happened". Hwitaek laughs. "I am sorry about my timing, but it is true. I like you. I just want you to know that there are guys that really respect you for the way you are. I wish I told you sooner. I was just so afraid you still liked Hongseok and I didn't want to ruin our friendship".
You look him in the eyes. You can see whenever Hwitaek is lying, because he is so easy to read. "You are for real" you say. "Yes, I am" Hwitaek says seriously. You see he is nervous, but that he still looks at you. "I like  you too" you say.  "I was afraid too". Hwitaek puts his hand to your cheek and moves closer, but stops. "Is it okay if I kiss you. I don't want you feel bad after everything that happened". You nod. "It is okay". Hwitaek plans a soft kiss on your lips. Different from Hongseok's kiss, this makes you feel good. Very good. Like everything Hongseok says melts away and you finally found someone that truly loves you. "I don't want to move fast. Is it okay if we take this slow and see where this goes. I promise you I will protect you from any mean words people will say and I will personally kick Hongseok if he says anything else about you". "I would love all of that. Thank you, Hwitaek. You really are the only person that can calm me down". He smiles at you before kissing you again. "Come on, I will treat on lunch this time".
I hope you liked it! Let me know what you think! 🌱🌸

"Soft touch, soft kiss."
I asked @shinwonsaysomething to make mood boards! Go check her out!
——
GENRE: Angst, Smut & Fluff
PAIRING: Hongseok X Changgu / Yeo One
REQUESTED BY: APPLESMH in Wattpad
———————
Changgu decided to come by and visit Hongseok, he liked the older boy for quite a long while. He couldn't help but to try to confess to his hyung, but knowing the fact that Hongseok has just experienced a bad and harsh break up, he just saw his hyung's emotions turn into dust, he barely even showed any smile after the break up. Changgu was scared to face the emotionless boy, but he had to in order for the group to have their comeback. He opened the the door to Hongseok's room,
he saw Hongseok just staring at the ceiling with a blank face, he approached the older boy and laid beside him.
"Hyung... you worried the group a lot... Do you want to talk about it?" Hongseok just sighed as a response, Changgu frowned at his hyung's attitude.
After a long silence, he looked at Changgu, "I just.. miss the feeling of somebody kissing me and to be loved romantically.." his voice trailed him off, he moved his body closer to Changgu's.
Changgu didn't know what to do at this moment, he just threaded his hands through Hongseok's soft and messy hair. He stared at the older boy who was close to him, but his eyes trailed off, not meeting his.
Changgu's ears turned red, he swallowed his fears, "H-Hyung... I-I love you... uhm... r-romantically." Changgu stared at Hongseok, then looked away embarrassed.
"Changgu. Look at me please, why the hell would you love me?" Hongseok said, Changgu looked at Hongseok immediately.
He looked at his hyung, feeling all nervous because of his hyung, Changgu noticed that Hongseok was staring at his eyes then down to his lips. Changgu moved away from Hongseok, and then sat up.
Hongseok was confused of what was the younger boy's doing, he sat up too.
"There's so many things that I love about you, and yet you ask me why I love you.." Changgu said, staring straight at Hongseok's eyes. Approaching the older boy very slowly, he then placed his hands on Hongseok's.
Changgu raised Hongseok's hand, then placed a soft kiss yet still maintaining his gaze. "Number one, you are amazing. You cook for the group and you're so responsible."
Changgu then kissed Hongseok's forehead, "Number two, you are smart, you know how to take care for the 9 of us." He then caressed Hongseok's cheeks with his thumb, then slowly trailed his thumb to Hongseok's lips then down to his chest.
"Number three, your voice is beautiful, but when you sing I'm taken to heaven." Changgu's hands then trail to Hongseok's abs.
"A-and number four... is self explanatory..." Changgu then pried his hand away from Hongseok, his hyung was breathless from what Changgu did. Changgu looked at Hongseok, a glare that slowly sent shivers to Hongseok's spine.
Hongseok's mind was in a fuzz, he heard his heartbeat in his mind, thudding and beating so fast. "Changgu... you really meant that right?" Changgu nodded.
Hongseok looked at the younger boy, he pulled him closer.
"Kiss... me... softly." His hot breath and low voice turned Changgu on, Changgu didn't hesitate to kiss him.
His lips hovered over Hongseok's, he slowly closed the gaps and then felt the immensely soft lips of his hyung. Hongseok felt a void in his heart was filled, and Changgu knew. They pulled away for air, Hongseok stayed still as he felt Changgu lift his shirt up, kissing his stomach then up to his chest. That caused Hongseok to let out a strained moan, Changgu then took off Hongseok's shirt and threw it on the floor. Changgu placed soft kisses all over Hongseok's well built body, he slowly trailed up to the neck.
"N-No d-don't give me a hickey y-yet.." Hongseok whined out, Changgu pulled away from Hongseok's neck.
"Okay..." Changgu said, the tone of disappointment was present but Hongseok didn't want the members to know that he was with Changgu.
Hongseok looked at Changgu, Changgu then pulled Hongseok's face closer to his causing the two boys to kiss once again.
Once again, they pulled away. The two boys gazed at each other, both with a loving smile on their lips. "Thank you Changgu, I love you.." Hongseok muttered under his breath, Changgu smiled.
"You're Welcome hyung, I love you too." Changgu said. Hongseok picked his shirt up, he dusted it off and then wore it
"Let's cuddle ok?" Changgu couldn't say no to his hyung, the two boys laid together on the bed, holding on each other, both feeling safe and loved.

Yuto - Kinks
Tumblr media
(Because there are not enough things written about this beautiful man in the world. And after much deliberation, I have decided that he is my bias.)
dOM (don’t deny it)
will let you top but he’s still in control
oral buddy, giving and receiving
will praise you
loves to kiss your neck
prefers missionary because he loves looking into your eyes
restraints (sometimes, he only gives it)
not into the hardcore stuff
but I wouldn’t complain if I got anything from him *wink wonk*
wants you to top occasionally
probably cause he wants a good look at the goods ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
do NOT
for the love of all things good
do NOT talk back
cause this bitch won’t hold back
but let’s get real
he’s a soft lil shit
so when he’s not pounding into you like the Hulk throwing Loki around
he’s placing soft kisses down your body
holding your hand while his other hand works at the goods ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
taking his time
loving each part of you equally
(god damnit, calm down)
after care is noice buddy
he’ll cuddle you
and be all stereotypical
but in all reality, every man falls asleep so expect his cuddles to be while he’s asleep.
Thank you and a good night

Hongseok: Herbs and Remedies
Tumblr media
Characters: Hongseok x gender neutral reader
Genre/warnings: woodland au, fantasy, fluff, slight angst
Word count: 1,925
Summary: You’re normally careful when you go hiking, so you’re unprepared when you twist your ankle and can’t find your way home that evening. You’re lucky Hongseok was nearby, though, because he knows just how to get you back on your feet in a few days. You’ll just have to stay with him until you’re better.
a/n: all of these were inspired by the concept photos for Pentagon’s new album, and @softseventeens was the one to give me the idea and actually gave me like, half the ideas for the stories :]
Jinho | Hui | Hongseok | Shinwon | Changgu | Yanan | Yuto | Hyunggu | Wooseok
You hissed in pain, catching yourself on your hands before your face could hit the forest floor, no doubt getting leaves and dirt in your mouth and on your face. You weren’t sure what you stepped on wrong -- maybe it was a loose rock or a root -- but you lost your balance and twisted your ankle, falling to the ground as pain pulsed in your ankle. But you were in the middle of the woods so you had to try to stand on it and limp home to get it taken care of.
Positioning yourself on your hands and knees, you steadied yourself on your good foot before trying to stand. You kept your other foot off the ground, balancing on one foot for a moment before you tried to walk forward. Your ankle gave out and you cried out in pain feeling your weight on it as you fell to the ground once again.
This time, you stayed down.
“Fuck...” you whined, realizing this was an awful situation to be in.
You were out in the woods, alone, with a bum ankle. You couldn’t walk home, and you had left your phone in the car when you parked to go hiking. You at least had food and water in your backpack, but it wasn’t like you had anything to fend off wild animals or to sleep. You were stuck in the woods and the sun was setting.
That thought alone made you want to cry. You could already feel your breathing start to get quicker and more shallow as the reality of the situation set in. You were in a lot of trouble.
You looked around as you tried -- and didn’t succeed -- to not start hyperventilating. You were on your stomach, eyes scanning the forest like you were hoping some stranger who also wandered off the trails for some more intense hiking would be able to come rescue you. You knew that was a slim chance, but you hoped. What else could you do? You were stuck in the middle of the woods without a way to get back! You knew somebody would eventually realize you were missing, but you’d still have to get through the night here.
After what felt like hours -- but was only maybe 20 minutes -- of panicking and crying and begging to whatever higher power might be out there listening, you heard a soft, “Hello?”
You tried to turn to look at the voice, but you couldn’t see it. It must’ve been behind you, and you’d have to shift to your back to be able to see. But instead, you saw bare feet walk around to the front of you where your head was. The person crouched down a few feet away, and you saw a muscular boy with messy pastel hair and kind eyes looking at you, resting his arms on his knees as he looked at you curiously.
“Are you okay?” he asked in the same soft tone, like he was afraid of scaring you.
“N-no...” you sniffled, trying to form words through your jagged breaths. “I h-hurt my an-ankle, a-and I can’t g-get back, a-an’ I-- I--”
“Shh, it’s okay,” he smiled a little to reassure you. “I can get you fixed up and back on your feet in no time.”
He certainly didn’t look like a doctor, but you had no choice but to trust him right now. He was probably the only human -- at least, you assumed he was human since he looked human enough -- that you were going to see tonight. You just nodded, wiped your tears away with dirt-stained hands, and tried your best to get your emotions under control.
The boy whistled softly, and soon, a handful of small woodland animals came scurrying over, almost ignoring you completely. The boy spoke quietly and quickly to them, the animals going off one by one like he was sending them off to do errands. Just them walking up to him was strange enough alone, but they seemed to understand him, and that nearly sent you over the edge into a complete panic with the state you were already in.
“Can I come a little closer to you?” he asked, tilting his head slightly to one side.
“S-sure...” you mumbled.
He stood and walked until he was right beside you, sitting criss-cross on the forest floor. He was sitting by your torso, but you could feel his eyes looking at your ankle.
“Do you have a name?” he asked.
Even though you knew it was best to not give personal information out to strangers -- especially to strangers in the forest who had leaves and flowers sticking out of their hair -- you quietly said, “_____.”
He smiled, realizing you must trust him at least a little bit to tell him that, “You can call me Hongseok. _____, can I touch your ankle?”
“Is it going to hurt...?” you asked warily, turning your head to look at him.
“No, but let me know if it does,” he chuckled quietly before you felt warm, calloused fingers wrap around your bad ankle.
Like he promised, you didn’t feel any pain as he carefully examined you. Hongseok knew exactly what needed to be fixed, and he knew just how to get you better within a few days -- much faster than normal. But he knew all the secrets of the forest. He specialized in healing the animals, anyway.
“I’m gonna roll you over,” he warned.
You braced yourself for him to gently push you onto your back, but you didn’t prepare yourself to be lifted into his strong arms. You gasped, arms instinctively clinging to his neck in case he dropped you. He only smiled in amusement at your reaction before he was walking through the woods with you in his arms. He didn’t even seem to be struggling at all.
The trek to wherever he was taking you was mostly quiet other than the noises of the forest, and the few questions Hongseok asked you. Up close, he was especially handsome -- especially with the way the setting sun seemed to make his hair glow -- so you just settled on looking at his features while he brought you wherever it was he was going. Hongseok obviously noticed it, but he tried to hide his smirk and just kept walking, keeping his eyes straight ahead.
It wasn’t until you fell asleep from the rocking motion of being carried in his arms that he allowed himself to smile.
*⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*
The first night, you woke up to a soft, fleece blanket covering you. Your shoes and socks were removed along with your backpack, but you were still fully clothed. You looked to be in some sort of... It almost looked like you were somehow under a bunch of large tree roots. But everything seemed warmly lit, though you weren’t sure where the light was coming from or what caused it. The space you were in looked like a very woodsy and warm bedroom.
Across the room, Hongseok was crouched down on the floor, whispering to a fox that looked like it was paying close attention to whatever he was saying. You didn’t catch much of it until he sighed and stood up.
“I’ll be fine taking care of her on my own,” he promised. “You go home -- it’s getting late. She needs rest, anyway.”
Before Hongseok could turn around, you closed your eyes again and pretended to be asleep. You felt warm, plush lips press against your forehead before you were tucked in even tighter.
*⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*
You definitely weren’t happy to hear that you wouldn’t be able to walk for a few days, but Hongseok didn’t find it hard to calm you down. There was just something about him you found very calming, so your panicking soon just turned into calmly wondering what would happen if somebody came looking for you.
“I’ll put you somewhere they can find you, and you can go home,” he shrugged.
But part of you didn’t like that idea, and you weren’t sure why.
While Hongseok was absolutely elated to have a visitor that wasn’t one of his friends or the typical woodland creature that wasn’t much for conversation, he wasn’t really sure...what to do. He’d never had a human around for this long, and he definitely had never gotten this attached to one. You were only supposed to be there for three days but he already was dreading when you’d leave and his home would be empty again.
He spent most of his time around you, claiming he wanted to be there if you needed anything or were in any pain. But with the different mixes of herbs, plants, flowers, and berries he was using, you never felt any pain. Still, you weren’t complaining, and you didn’t realize he was just trying to take advantage of what little time he had with you.
On the last night you were expected to be there, Hongseok sat at the edge of his bed while you were laying down, looking at the side of his face. You’d gotten to know Hongseok a lot better since meeting him, and while you realized he definitely wasn’t something human, you still felt something warm and fuzzy inside for the strange woodland boy.
“Hongseok?” you spoke up.
“Hmm?” he asked, glancing over to you.
“Do you get visitors often?”
His soft smile turned a little sad as he shook his head, “No, not really. It’s usually just people who are lost, but they go home as soon as you point them in the right direction. You’re the first person who’s stuck around this long. Then again, you kind of had to.”
Without thinking, you put one of your hands over his and gave it a light squeeze, “Hey, I would’ve stuck around even if I had the option.”
Hongseok’s smile turned brighter, turning his hand over to squeeze yours back, “Really?”
His smile was contagious, one equally as wide taking over your features, “Really.”
*⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*
“I just got lost.”
That was the lie you kept telling everybody. If you said you were injured, they’d wonder how you were healed so quickly -- though you did feel a dull ache in your ankle, so you were given a brace when you were back in civilization. If you said you’d run into a handsome woodland boy in the woods, that would just make you sound crazy. So getting lost made the most sense.
Still, you had to tell somebody about Hongseok, so you confided in your best friend.
“I’ve read a lot of books about human-like creatures that live in the woods and take care of the wildlife and such,” she nodded. She was always one to be into mythical creatures and fantasy-type things. You knew she’d find your story not only interesting, but believable. “There’ve been a lot of sightings of people like that. What was he like?”
You began gushing about Hongseok, telling her how gentle and sweet he was. How he seemed to know everything about different remedies, and how he was so kind to any injured animals that came to him.
“I just wish I could--” you cut yourself off as you realized that all you wanted was to see him again. This strange boy had made such an impact on you in such a short amount of time, but you couldn’t help it. You wanted to find Hongseok.
And you were going to try to do just that.

Shy - Hongseok
Tumblr media
(Admin: Byeul, I’m writing this for my sister because Hongseok is her bias)
“Introduce me to your friend,” Hongseok asks your close friend Shinwon softly, leaning closer to Shinwon’s ears in the hopes that you won’t be able to hear him, Shinwon nods softly in response letting out a small sigh.
“Y’N,” Shinwon says stepping over to you and putting one of his hands on the top of your head turning you in the direction of the man you had never met before, “this is my friend Hongseok, he’s awkward, just like you,” Shinwon teases before straightening his posture.
“I’m Y’N,” you say barely above a whisper feeling insecure in front of the adorable yet handsome man in front of you, but you couldn’t make yourself look away from his eyes no matter how badly you wanted to.
“Don’t stare at him too much,” Shinwon says pushing your head down with his hand, “I’m going out for a minute, I’ll be back,” Shinwon says looking between the two of you, you look down at your lap unsure of what to say or do.
You hear the chair next to your own pull out: “What are you studying?” Hongseok asks leaning his head on the palm of his hand, his elbow resting on the edge of the table.
“Shinwon asked me to help him with his Chinese,” you say softly turning to the side to face him, “I studied in China for a few years,” you say with a small nod which catches Hongseok’s attention.
“Really, me too,” he says with a small laugh, “I wonder why he didn’t just ask me,” Hongseok mutters more to himself than to you which makes you let out a small laugh.
“He said I was more reliable, but as you can see he just left,” you say with a sigh leaning back against the chair, “how come he never introduced me to you before?” You ask cocking your head to the side Hongseok shrugs.
“I stay in my room a lot, so he probably never thought about it,” Hongseok says with a small laugh, “it has been nice meeting you though,” he says brightly.
“Yeah, when I hang out with Shinwon I stay in here and try to avoid meeting the others,” you admit, “I’m awkward and I feel bad for it,” you mutter and Hongseok nods in agreement.
“I’m like that too with new people, maybe that’s why we get along,” he says with a laugh covering his eyes with his hand you laugh as well letting out a sigh.
“We should hang out again,” you say with a nod, Hongseok uncovers his eyes smiling softly at you, taking out his phone and passing it to you.
“Give me your number so that we don’t have to meet through Shinwon next time,” he says with a small laugh.

Tumblr media
A world filled up with suffering, pain and misery. That’s how you would describe the place you were living in. In all your 24 years of life you haven’t seen your kingdom without a war. Neither you and your 9 best friends. All you have seen was pain and misery and all you could do was fight to survive.
Since the new government took the power and your city was under a dictatorship you saw yourself trapped inside imaginary walls even before you were born and it slowly became a battlefield. Little by little it started to look like an apocalypse movie people used to enjoy during Halloween in the theatre.
Being rebels wasn’t easy though. The day one of you arrived home without a bruise or a wound on your body or face was pretty rare and at some point of your lives it became a habit. Chains around your wrists and necks as you walked serving the powerful ones also became a habit. This was the life you all had to live if you wanted to survive.
Thank god you had them. Your parents were murdered by the government for trying to escape with you when you were just a kid and Jinho, who was 5 years older than you and who saw you wandering around plenty of times while he “played” with his toys, begged to his family to adopt you so you wouldn’t die as well. You owed him a lot for doing so without even knowing you. In fact, all the people living in the concentration camp you have lived during your childhood, treated each other like family. It was the only way of protecting yourself and others  from the decisions of the government. Some years passed and Jinho’s parents were murdered as well. Only God knows why they also killed them. The only thing you could say is that one day you woke up hearing Jinho’s sobbing from the room of his parents and when you walked in you saw both of his parents lifeless bodies laying on their bed with their stomach filled with their blood due to a bullet.
You can tell the life you and your friends were living wasn’t the best but at least you had each other. You had to admit that it would have been worse if they weren’t there for you. You will always treasure in your heart all those little moments when you lay down on your makeshift bed in the little abandoned building the 10 of you were living in since you left the concentration camp and you talked with them about anything that ran your mind. It didn’t matter if it was a stupid thought or a deep one. The only thing you all needed was getting your brains out of the situation you were living so you could be happy at least a few minutes in a day. Sadly, those little moments were always interrupted by the sound of sirens and bombs and you all had to run away to hide in a common bunker to stay safe. “It’s okay, we’re safe now.” Kino always told you as the 10 of you hugged to get calmed down. They were all you had and you were all they had.
For some reason you all ignored for years, you all enjoyed singing. Well, you didn’t know if you could call that singing because all you could do was humming to invented melodies that for an unknown reason sounded familiar to you. In your kingdom, since the new government took the power, music was prohibited and replaced with siren sounds. Only Jinho, Hui and Hongseok, who were the oldest among the 10 of you, had the privilege of knowing a little about how the world was before the dictatorship started. Even if they were too young to remember a lot about it, at least they could know what music was and how it sounded like. You always enjoyed listening to their sweet voice singing to lull you to sleep.
Another thing you loved to do was sitting around a campfire when the situation was a bit better and hearing Jinho, Hui and Hongseok stories about what they could remember about life before the dictatorship. That way you could all imagine a better life and have a common dream of running away and having a perfect life with each other. “If I could I would adopt a dog.” Wooseok said cutely. He was the youngest out of all of you. Every time you saw through all the bad and tough things he had to go through when he was just a kid broke your heart. Even though he was 22 years old already, you still saw him as a little kid. You and the rest of your friends always saw him like a younger brother who needed to be protected. Even though you all babied him a lot, he was one of the toughest ones. He was always involved in a “crime” against the government and he was the most rebel out of all of you. You all tried to make him understand you had to obey what others said so you could survive but he still wanted to fight for his and your freedom. Sometimes you admired how determined he was and how mature he was even though he was 2 years younger than you. “Who does not risk does not win.” That was his life motto. Little did you all know he was planning something huge.
Sun was falling and the moon was rising. Like every week you were doing your laundry. You always made it during night because it was the most chill time of the day and it was when the situation was better. You were hanging a T-shirt on the clothesline when you heard Yuto calling your name. By the way he called you, you perfectly knew there was something wrong going on. You dropped the clothes and ran to the makeshift lounge you had. As soon as you walked in you spotted Yanan with chains around his neck and his back covered with bruises made by a whip. “What happened?” You asked worried walking towards him to help him lay on a table so you could heal his wounds. “I found him like this in the central square.” Shinwon said. Yanan answered none of your questions and it wasn’t until you touched him that you noticed he was unconscious. “Get the first aid kit, we need to heal him as soon as possible.” You said worried. Your mom used to be a nurse before the dictatorship and even though you only knew the very basics, at least you knew how to heal your friend. You didn’t have much medicine though, the only thing you could do was use medicinal plants on his wounds and wait for them to heal by themself.
You finished using the medicinal plants on Yanan’s back and you all decided to take turns to stay with him during night in case he woke up. They all agreed on you being the first one staying with him and waving at them wishing them good and sweet dreams you got a chair and took a seat next to the table where Yanan’s body rested. A few hours passed and your eyelids started to feel heavy when you heard Changgu coming in the lounge. “Go to sleep (Y/N), I’ll stay with him.” He said placing his hand on your shoulder and softly smiling at you. When you were about to leave, Yanan finally opened his eyes. “What happened?” He asked, confused. As soon as he tried to move he cried in pain waking everyone up. “You cannot move now, the wounds are still open.” You explained to him helping him to lay down again. “What happened to you?” Shinwon asked worriedly. “I was just going to buy some bread and guards got me saying today wasn’t our day for buying bread. I protested and they chained my wrists and neck and took me to the central square to punish me.” He explained struggling a bit because of the pain of his open wounds. “We can’t keep living like this.” Wooseok said. “And what do you want to do? Run away? Don’t you remember what happened to those who tried to run away?” Kino answered him. They both were right. The life you were living wasn’t a life actually and you knew you wouldn’t last for much more but you knew you couldn’t escape as well. You were trapped in there and you all were doomed to live that lifeless life.
Sun soft light entering through the soft curtains of your room hitting your skin perfectly and waking you up. Another day in Hell was about to start. You got out of your bed and went out of your room to find everyone was already up. “Good morning.” You greeted them softly. “Good morning!” They all greeted you cheerfully. Somehow, they always managed to give you a bright smile whenever they talked to you. You really admire that about them. Having the ease of smiling even though they were completely broken inside just to make you feel better was heartwarming. But still, you knew those smiles hide pain and misery. Today you could notice that pain in Jinho’s eyes. For some reason, they didn’t raise the same way they always did whenever Jinho smiled at you usually. You knew there was something wrong but you first related it to what happened last night with Yanan.
You walked towards Yanan and sat there sipping the coffee Hongseok just handed you. “How are you feeling?” You asked Yanan. “Much better. Thank you for curing me, I owe you one.” He said smiling at you. “You don’t owe me anything, come on, let me check them.” You said smiling as well and standing up so you could check his wounds. You lifted up his shirt and found his wounds started to scar perfectly during the night thanks to the medicine. “It looks pretty good.” You said smiling at him and pulling his shirt back down. When you sat back on the chair you heard the front door opening and saw a confused Yuto and Wooseok entering the lounge. “What's going on?” Hui asked. “A revolution. That’s what’s going on.” Wooseok said dropping his bags on the floor and approaching the windows to close them. “What do you mean by a revolution?” Kino asked, confused. “They call themselves Basquiat. They’re killing guards to make justice. Their sign is a crown with three peaks.” Yuto explained as he locked the front door. “Those crowns signified something?” You asked, surprised. There was an awkward silence the moment you said so. Everyone turned to face you. “What?” You asked even more confused. “Have you seen them?” Wooseok asked you. “Yeah, I’ve been seeing paintings of that crown around the city for a few days now.” You answered. “They thought I was one of them.” Yanan suddenly said. Everyone moved their eyes off you to focus on Yanan now. “Why would they think we have something to do with those ‘Basquiats’?” You asked, confused as Yanan took out of his pocket a poster. “A young boy gave me this when I was going to get the bread.” He said showing you a poster with the crown Yuto and Wooseok described a few seconds ago and the one you have been seeing for the past few days. “We’re now on their spotlight.” Jinho finally spoke up. He had his gaze lost and he was unusually quiet. You were scared of asking him if he was okay and now that you know what happened back then you wished you would have asked him.
Now that you were in the spotlight of the government you had to be more careful and whenever you wanted to do something you had to do it hiding yourself so they wouldn’t suspect you. A few days after discovering the Basquiats you found a letter on your mailbox. It was written with weird calligraphy, had some red marks on it and it gave you all the creeps just by looking at it. “Guys, I found this letter on the mailbox, do we open it or wait until Jinho is here?” You asked them. Jinho has been out for the entire day and you had no idea where he was. You all agreed on waiting for him but after a few more hours passed and he was nowhere to be found you decided to read it without him in case it was a threatening letter from the government or something like that. But the moment you started reading the letter and you noticed what it was you couldn’t hold back your tears. (Click here to read the letter.)
None of you could believe Jinho did such a thing. You couldn’t believe he didn’t say a word about his feelings and you wished you could have noticed before so you could have tried to convince him to not do that or at least you wouldn’t have let him alone. All of you were devastated after reading the letter Jinho left before committing suicide and you were all a crying mess. “We have to do it.” You heard Wooseok’s voice in between your sobbings. He sounded angry even though his face said the opposite. “We have to be the new Basquiats for him.” He said, drying his cheeks and full of determination. You never saw him be as determined as he was when he said so. Even though you were all scared and broken and denied his offer at first, deep inside your heart you knew he was right.
A few days passed since Jinho left and you were still trying to overcome the pain his loss caused you. Even though he was important to everyone, you felt he was more important to you. He saved you and offered you a family and a place to live. You owed him your life because if it weren’t for him you would have been murdered the day your parents were. You constantly wished it was you instead of him the one passing away feeling like you owed him your life.
You were sitting on your front door looking at the horizon thinking about life when your eyes landed on the poster Yanan brought a few days ago. The poster about the rebels. You knew the boys were completely into joining that group to avenge Jinho’s death but you weren’t 100 % sure about it. Running away was something that never turned out well in the place you were living and you couldn’t allow losing more of them.
You stared at the poster for a few minutes analyzing all its features. What caught your attention was the message that was written on it. “We will be the new Basquiats. Come join us. We wanna hear your voice.” You got kicked out of your thoughts when you saw Hongseok, Hui and Kino walking in your direction as they came back from God knows where. “Welcome back.” You said smiling at them. They had all their clothes ripped and their faces covered up with all kinds of bruises and scratches. You didn’t even want to know what kind of work the government gave them this time. You only had to look at their faces to know what a shitty work it was. “What’s that?” Kino asked pointing at the poster you had in your hands. “The poster about those rebels…” You answered looking down at it. “You should think about it (Y/N).” Hongseok said getting into the little house. “You know Jinho deserves something better than this and this is our way of giving him the honor he deserves.” Hui said entering the house as well. “Just promise you will think about it.” Kino said reaching out his pinky finger waiting for you to make the promise. You stared at him and his finger for a few seconds and finally intertwined it with your pinky sighing. “I promise…” You added. “Thank you.” Kino said before entering the house and closing the door behind him leaving you alone with the poster in the little porch. You stared at the poster for a few more minutes and finally decided you would join them. The reason why Jinho did what he did was because of the shit of life you all lived and the only way of escaping it was becoming a Basquiat. You had to take revenge over all the suffering you all had to go through. Over all the suffering Jinho had to go through. You had to do this for him.
“I’m in.” You said once you entered the house and found all of them sitting in the living room. “What do you mean?” Changgu asked confused. “She means she will also become a Basquiat.” Hui said, smiling ear to ear. “Really?” Wooseok asked with his eyes filled up with hope. It was the first time you saw them wear that little gleam of hope in their eyes and seeing them like this made you extremely happy. You loved them and all you wanted was seeing them happy and if that group of rebels could make them happy then you would do whatever it takes to be in that group and run away with them. “Really… Jinho deserves it. And you guys too. We all deserve to live somewhere better and be finally free.” You said smiling at them. They were touched by your sweet words and they all stood up to hug you. Even though only a few times you could have these little moments, you loved them. Feeling all of them pressed against your body as you hugged each other in a group hug made you feel happy. Made you feel like you were home. Made you feel like you all became one for a second and spoke up with the same voice and heart. In these little moments were when you realized they weren’t your friends or best friends, they were your family. They were your Universe.
Day passed by and without noticing, night had already come. You were all eating some dinner and as soon as you finished you decided it was time for you to go to bed. You were exhausted due to the lack of sleep you’ve had these past days because you had the little hope of Jinho coming back and you didn’t want to sleep in case he knocked on the door so you could open. Very deep inside your heart you knew he was gone forever but your brain couldn’t stop telling you he was still alive and that all of this was just a bad dream. You just couldn’t accept he was gone. Unfortunately, you were hit by reality every morning when you went to the living room and found he wasn’t in his usual spot on the couch drinking his coffee and holding a newspaper as he greeted you asking you if you slept well.
Once you entered your bedroom and closed the door, you changed your clothes to your pyjama and got into bed. As soon as your head touched the soft pillow you were dozed off falling asleep in no time. A few hours passed since you went to sleep when you abruptly woke up screaming and crying. As soon as the boys heard you from the living room where they were still chatting, they ran to your bedroom and opened the door worried. “(Y/N) are you okay?” Shinwon asked worriedly. “Jinho… I saw him.” You said crying and scared. You kept repeating your words completely out of your senses making the rest of the boys scared about your actions. “(Y/N) it's okay, it was just a dream.” Kino said hugging you tightly. “We’re here, you’re safe.” Yanan said hugging you as well. You cried in their shoulders for a long 15 minutes and when you could start calming down you apologized for scaring them. “It’s okay, we all have nightmares.” Yuto said, caressing your shoulder still having his arms around you. “Thank you guys…” You quietly muttered. “You don’t have to thank us.” Wooseok said smiling down at you. They were about to leave when you called them and stopped them. “Can you guys stay with me tonight?” You asked as they turned around to face you. “Of course we can.” Hongseok said after checking on his friends for approval. “The edge of the bed is mine!” Shinwon cheerfully said raising his hand and running to your bed jumping on it and crawling into the blankets with you. You couldn’t help laughing at the image of him cutely getting into the bed. Once you were all settled and laying on the bed or floor, you placed your head on Yuto’s shoulder who was laying beside you. “Good night guys.” You softly muttered. “Good night (Y/N)!” They all said with one voice before you all fell asleep.
It's been a month since Jinho left you. You guys have been doing some little things as the new Basquiats. Little by little the city buildings started to get filled up with paintings of the crown with three peaks as you guys committed all kinds of crimes against the guards and government to make justice.
A few more days passed and you started to feel better as you started to accept Jinho was gone. Making a little tomb for him even if you had no idea where his lifeless body rested was a good idea for helping you all accept the reality. Because none of you had the chance of telling him goodbye, making a little tomb in the backyard of the little building you were living in also gave you the chance for saying goodbye to him properly. "We will change all of this for you. I promise." Wooseok said, placing a white rose next to Jinho's photo. Tears running down your cheek as Hui hugged you tightly. It was your turn for saying goodbye to him. "Thank you for always taking care of me like the older brother you have always been to me. If it wasn't for you I would be dead… I really owe you a lot. Let's meet in another life. You will always live in our hearts." You said placing another white rose next to the one Wooseok placed right before you. You felt a bit better after saying those words. It was like you could finally let go of a big weight you had in your shoulders for the past month. Little did you know that weight had a name and it was Fault. You felt guilty for Jinho's death and the moment you said those words and saw his photo next to some flowers you realized you could have done nothing to help him. Deep inside your heart you believed one of you would end up like that sooner or later. Now the only thing you could do was fighting for your freedom just like Jinho would have liked.
“We have to start planning the runaway.” Changgu said as you all walked back into the house. He was right. The day was almost there and none of you have planned anything for doing it. Everyone had everything setted up and planned except you and you knew you had to start thinking about it if you wanted to get out of there. “Let’s plan it now.” You said drying your wet cheeks because of the tears that left your eyes a few seconds ago. You wanted to escape that place and never come back. You wanted to run far away so you could have the beautiful life you knew all of you deserved. There was nothing else you could lose and all you would do was fight with all you had to escape that place you had to call home.
You all entered the little building and sat around the table you had in the lounge. “So, how do we do it?” Kino asked sitting back on his chair. “We can’t be seen so we should do it during lunch or dinner time.” Shinwon suggested. “What if we go big?” Wooseok said, slightly smirking. “What do you mean by going big?” Hui asked worriedly. Whenever Wooseok had that grin on his face you all knew he was planning nothing good and this wasn’t an exception. He wanted to destroy every single thing and every single person that got on your way. He wanted to make justice by destroying every single government institution and he wanted to take revenge for Jinho by taking their lives as well. “A life needs to get paid with another life.” He said once he finished explaining his plan. Even though in other conditions you would have never thought this way, you couldn’t help agreeing with him on that last sentence. Your minds were completely blurred with pain and you were all thirsty for revenge that you all agreed on destroying everything in your path on your way to freedom.
After some weeks of planning how were you going to destroy everything so you could also set free the rest of the people and families that lived there the day finally arrived. Big bags hanging on your backs and pockets filled up with all kinds of weapons and whips you’ve been stealing from the guards. You were in your room finishing packing the last stuff that was left when you spotted a picture of you and Jinho a few years ago. You couldn’t help shedding a tear as you admired the photo. “He would be proud of you. We’re gonna make it (Y/N), I promise.” You heard Hongseok from behind. “What if we fail? What if everything turns out completely wrong?” You said as he hugged you tightly to calm you down. “Then we will be able to meet him in another life.” He said caressing your hair. Even if it was a sad thought he was right. If something goes wrong and all of you end up dead, at least you’ll be able to meet him wherever he is now.
After some more minutes of checking you left nothing inside the building you’ve called home for the past few years, you were finally ready to start with your plan. As soon as you started to destroy the buildings tons of guards went to attack you and all you could do was pray for your weapons to reach them before they reached you. There was a moment when the only thing you could hear was shots and bomb explosions as you fought against them. You could hear planes and helicopters flying over you dropping some more bombs. It was at that moment when you saw Hui waving at you as he finished getting everyone to a safe place where they were ready to escape. When you turned around to face Yanan and tip off about Hui’s position you saw how he collapsed into the floor due to a bullet in his left shoulder and right leg crying in pain. “No!” You shouted running towards him. “It’s nothing, I promise you will be okay. We will get out of here. Please stay with me, don’t close your eyes.” You said pressing his two wounds trying to stop the bleeding. “(Y/N) we have to go now!” You hear Yuto shouting from behind. “We cannot leave him here like this!” You replied asking him for help. You looked around you and all you could see was chaos and more misery. You guys started a new war. Was this what Jinho wanted? “We never die, we’re the new Basquiats.” You heard Wooseok saying right before shooting another guard, making him collapse into the floor just like Yanan did a few seconds ago. “Here, take this. Cover me up, I’ll take him with the others.” Yuto kicked you out of your thoughts as he gave you his bag and grabbed Yanan so they could both go to a safer place. “Go with Hongseok and Kino, I’ll go with Hui and we will try to save him.” Yuto said before leaving. Your brain was working at the light speed and your eyes didn’t stop moving around the scenery until they landed on Hongseok and Kino. You ran to them and told them the situation. “We can’t go without killing the most important guard. If we don’t do it they will chase us.” Kino said as the three of you ran to find him. After some time running around the place trying your best to avoid the bombs you finally reached him. He was the most powerful person in the city and the last one you had to destroy so you could finally be free. “You killed him and now we’re killing you, it’s fair enough don’t you think?.” You said pointing at him with your gun and with the coldest voice tone. Your voice sounded like a knife piercing everyone’s hearts. “Welcome to the new revolution sir.” Kino said pointing at him as well. “God bless you.” Hongseok said right before shooting him right in the heart making him die instantly. Your work was finished and your mission completed. You were now free.
A year later.
“It looks pretty good though.” You said pulling Yanan’s shirt down after checking the scar the bullet left on his arm and smiling at him. It has been a year since you could finally run away from the dictatorship you have always lived in. At the very beginning being able to do whatever you wanted was kinda weird, none of you were used to do that and at first you didn’t really know what you wanted to do. Still, little by little all of you found your hobbies and what you enjoyed doing. You were all living in a little house in the middle of a camp. After all those years hearing sirens and bombs every single day you all really appreciated waking up to the peaceful sound of birds and wind.
Also, as Wooseok always wanted, you could finally adopt a little dog who you all agreed on naming Jinho. It was a way of feeling he didn’t left at all. After all, he was right, dying doesn’t mean leaving forever, he would always live in your hearts. Even now, when you look back in time and see all the things you had to go through, all the things you’ve lost on your way and all the people you’ve lost as well made you extremely sad and proud at the same time. You always wished having a normal life and doing what a normal girl of your age would have done but at the same time you felt happy for having the amazing family you had and you were proud of every single thing you could reach even if it was through pain and misery.
Jinho was always right, whenever you had each other you were home. It didn’t matter where it was or in which conditions you lived in. As long as you were together it felt like home. As long as you were the New Basquiats.
