back then, to us it was a fortune (45 bucks)

it was all we had worked for

this thing was a beauty the most amazing hookha pipe our city had ever seen and it was ours!

we take it to our famous "room in the attic" filled it with water and called the phonebook starting with A and ending at J (we could never stick to our goals)

the room was packed

we were hot we were young we were stoned and we were stupid enough to invite the dreaded Molly H.

Molly was a big girl, a catholic girl. Ive know her since 5th grade she was alright she was…. until that night

She was slightly drunk, a bit high and clumsy as hell (not a good mixture for a crowded little room)

Rob set the hookha on the table near the window I got up to flip over S&G's Bookends when Molly decided she wanted a hug ( the kind of hug only a person in her condition would ever want..A Happy Hug) and got up

tripped

and Yup, knocked the hookha out of the window where it fell three flights to its premature death

I dont remember what the reaction of my fellow stoners were when this happened but I can still clearly hear it hit the phone line with a faint DING and then the atomic eruption when it hit the pavement below

45 bucks worth of perfection laying in shards

we gathered up the pipes and swept up the glass. we were too numb to cry but Rob and I wore black bands on our shirtsleeves for weeks after that night

I still have one of those pipes and I bet somewhere in this world so does Rob

and Molly if you are out there… I think about your fat ass hitting that pipe every fucking day

it was a sign of things to come
