i basically woke up to the news and scrolled through a billion very good posts about the situation + have to get to school so i don’t want to go through the effort of finding them again but let me make it absolutely clear that what happened to predstrogen is heinous and the doubling down by matt automattic is doubly so! cannot let it get lost in the outrage that he admitted the threats trans women face for being trans women and being the targets of transphobic harassment campaigns do not warrant moderator support ie are not taken seriously as threats at all, that it is okay to participate in them (as matt himself did when he threatened to SWAT or have legal action taken!) ie that tumblr condones such harassment by giving it a moderation pass, but it is not okay to make any sort of threat against your harassers no matter how cartoonishly facetious if you are a (intrinsically violent, dangerous) trans woman. ‘threats of violence’ is weaponized as justification for a blanket ban only against certain people—it is clearly not reason for a blanket ban for the people harassing predstrogen in the first place. their violence was condoned and co-signed by staff. make no mistake that is what is being said.

I don't think she had bad hair in s1 or s2, but I'm excited that they're actually giving the Black girls Black hairstyles instead of having them wear it out.

Before, it felt like the (all-white, for context) hair department was just ignorant about Black hair, so they put wigs on the Black actresses and only did styles that also work on nonblack hair for their own sake/convenience. This theory was especially supported by the fact that Tara, whose 4c hair couldn't really be styled the same as nonblack hair, wore a twistout that would take literal hours to do every day, but she had box braids in s2! and Elle has box braids now!! I'm so excited!!!

I also feel like this fits her bold, fashion-loving personality so much better than leaving her hair out. Our hair is basically its own accessory, and the long box braids are very feminine. Again, I'm not saying not having a protective style isn't feminine or fashionable (I myself am a fashion girlie with an Afro), but having one is another outlet for her creativity, and I'm glad they're recognizing that now.

current conclusion of the day: i am still car-less. new dealerships are smarmy and used dealerships are sketchy.

i spent way too much time with one bc he wouldn't give us a hard number and then when he did it was like. 2k over budget and 7k more in fees, including 3k on a package thing i didn't even actually WANT but couldn't be taken off. it was the only car i did a test drive of and i am suspicious of how slow it accelerated. needless to say i did not buy that car.

went to a used dealer who was sketchy as FUCK and all of the cars had some sort of visible damage on the exterior 👍 pretty sure they were taking wrecked cars and rebuilding them. did not even actually talk to the salesperson there.

got super dejected. definitely planned on crying when i got home.

last ditch effort we swung by the used place off the exit that i always pegged as a little sketchy, just to give it a quick look. officially my new favorite place. despite the fact we literally pulled in while they were closing, the lady came out to talk to us and give us a few prices. cars were newer, looked to be in good condition. she gave the price and it was like 3-4k over but the monthly might be as low as like $250 which is actually BELOW what i was thinking ??? which is the only possible red flag but we're going back in the morning when they're actually open to test drive and talk more.

actually left with some hope and i no longer feel like crying. also my dad bought me a sub for dinner.

lol so im full-time at my job, right? which usually means during the holidays I get a little extra cash cause of paid federal holidays. not for thanksgiving tho! my employer decided to cut my hours that week so that my total paycheck doesn’t exceed 40 hrs including holiday pay 🙃 this is being done to all the full-timers across all departments, AND as a result all the part-timers are being scheduled to work 40 hours that week despite the fact that they don’t get any benefits.

That being said please google the tw’s before watching it I only started watching it recently and was somewhat aware of them but didn’t google them and one episode (14 I think?) had me like 😧 wtf lol not bc it was particularly triggering for me but it just caught me by surprise!!! But I also have no issue w dark themes If you just google that there should be a link right at the top of the search w a tumblr blog that lists all the tw’s of the show and even breaks it down per episode

so i looked into it, i’m not 100% sure it would be my thing but i’d be willing to give it a try if it weren’t for the unreality trigger warning. i have suffered from episodes of psychosis in the past and just the short descriptions for the unreality tws made me feel extremely panicky, so i’m not sure if i’d be able to handle that at this current moment in my life.

concepts and topics like that are tricky for me because it really depends on how they’re done, but i’m not sure if i want to risk a panic attack/feeling icky just to see if it’s the case with this piece of art in particular. i might have my boyfriend check it out first and then see what he thinks and if he thinks it’ll be too much for me or not!
