I think I mentioned a while back I'd post nibling frog momence after the gift's done given. which happened on the 2nd this month I just forgot lmao. anyways we can do it now. I used the boigameista pattern scaled up to four pieces of A4 print paper and decided to double deck it to a two layer thing, not unlike a pillow, for ease of washin. because it was gonna be gifted to a one year old child

took a long time and made a number of mistakes bc hand sewing makes me worse as a person but this guy was done in time for the birthday occasion and that's what matters. chose non-fuzzy fabrics for it because we live in a dense city in the tropics and from personal experience if I hug something made of fur I would explode. the original plan included felt patterns on its back for bonus textures for baby but that wouldn't stretch well along with the rest of the thing so had to hold that back. eventually we got this

zipper across its ass, the coat type of zipper bc I miscalculated when ordering. but it did have a shape and that's all that matters to me. will be a fun game for the baby to grow up and be severely misinformed about what a frog looks like

Y'know, this could just be projection, but I do think there is a genuine argument I could put together for Norman being Autistic or generally Neurodivergent Coded. There's just something about him that reeks of being the kind of person who instead of going "I'm human no matter what" decides that in the face of being dehumanized for his stranger traits says "Yeah, maybe I'm not human and that sounds awesome tbh."

I think it's also because he's constantly seen as spooky and mysterious by others; his laugh is unsettling and Buddy mentions Hating it. His sense of humor is strange and startling and Miss Rodriguez is very aware of this and feels the need to explain it to Buddy after he tells the poor kid Joey DIED. To me at least, it reads a little bit as Norman having just something about him that makes him unsettling and strange to others and instead of being shy or anxious abt it, he decided long ago to totally embrace it as part of himself.

He loves being strange, he's learned about this part of himself others don't like and has decided he likes it so it's staying. He's just such a laid-back, kind fellow despite his strangeness, I love him for it so much and one day I want to make an entire essay on his character. However…

This also ties into the sadder parts of him… Spoilers for DCTL ahead!

With the context of Norman maybe being autistic or neurodivergent in any way, this hits really hard for me.

Norman was a nobody; people enjoyed his company sometimes, but he was strange, an outcast. Nobody would notice he was missing, if he disappeared, nobody would search.

He watched everyone, looked out for them, but nobody did the same for him.

Except for Henry.

Henry and Norman were friends, Norman holds no grudge over Henry leaving and Dot notes the kind comments Norman makes towards the animator are unusual for him. Norman doesn't disagree with her either, those two have always been implied to have an especially close bond.

Would things have been different if Henry, mysteriously the only person who seems to have had such a bond with Norman, was there? Would Sammy have picked someone else knowing Henry would notice Norman going missing?

Maybe Henry just had something about him that made the two of them understand each other, despite their very different personalities. Maybe Henry knew what it was like to be a little "different" and "strange" to his peers, in the exact way Norman was. Maybe Henry wasn't seen as spooky or mysterious for it because it manifested in different ways, or it was just assumed he was like that because he was an artist. Maybe sometimes that made him feel bad, knowing Norman really was a sweet guy and others simply wouldn't give him the chance to prove it.

Because he was weird in the "wrong way."

Then he has to swallow seeing him further dehumanized in the cycle. Not even “Norman” anymore. Now only going by “The Projectionist”. The exact name others used when talking about how Weird and Scary he was. Now it was the only name they'd call him. Now he is a monster; the mindless, terrifying, twisted form others always saw him as, with nobody who truly understood what had been lost. Except Henry, the only one who saw humanity in him...

Hello, just wanna start this off by saying that I love your art. I've decided to ask my favourite artists for art tips as I wanna get into it, but no matter what I do it never looks right. So, any tips?

HELLO TYSM!!! ngl i dont think im the best 4 this question im also kinda in a rut rn where im not really satisfied w my art n craving more progress and improvement but im getting there somewhat but very slowly! (ive been this way for a rly long time naow) this might be long but im gna try n throw in the things ik, sorry if my thoughts r messy im not the best in articulating stuff :')

i think a good way to start off is to find out what skill you lack the most or what you want to improve the most on, say for ex: u wna focus on getting better at composition for illustrations, then a good way to improve them is to learn about the composition rules (ex: rule of 3rds, etc), look for any scenes in films/animation or photographies and storybooks , study them and recreate it! go crazy !! ive done a study on a friend's picture before, and have asked my friends if i can use their photographies as practice!

looking for inspiration will also improve ur visual library, they can help u find what u wna put in ur art ! like perhaps certain color palettes or styles, it's best to look at different mediums of art instead of focusing only on one, sometimes u can find techniques meant 4 u! (ex: of this is my friend who used to be a watercolor artist, ive observed them using watercolor techniques when they were still new to digital art! basically mix n match whatever feels good/convenient 4 u :] )

disciplining urself is also good to have more improvement! i have trouble w this the most ever since bc its hard 2 focus if no one is like there to monitor u (in my experience), if u rly wna make progress u have to squeeze in some art practice time in ur schedule, it can be around 15-30 mins or even 3 hrs, completely up to you! (rmb to take breaks!). you can give urself deadlines if that will help n maybe timers too!

my prof always said "Proper practice makes perfect", so it's also best to practice with a clear goal in mind, take notes on the things u lack and if ur watching any art tutorials/speedpaints, take notes of those too! it's good to have something specific in mind so u wont get lost n u wud know what u wna do! it helps u retain info as well so u can look back on stuff, to avoid overwhelming urself u can just focus on small bits first, ex: in anatomy, u can focus on the head area first, break it down to drawing eyes and noses, etc! then u can move onto the torso area!

USE REFS!!!! make use of pinterest or any other refs u can find, cannot stress this enuf go crazyyy w references, make a moodboard full of referencess n go crazzyy w them!! i used to not like doing this bc i just head straight in to drawing bc thats what i was used to but art college trained me 2 use refs bc they help so very much, theyre like ur guideline for what u wna make so u have a clear goal in mind, also photobashing seems like a great practice too never tried it but yes it can help when ur planning an illustration/concept art!

^above also applies to art styles! go crazy n experiment w them!! i think its so very fun to explore diff art styles n not stick to 1, again this depends on u but having a different range of artworks is rly fun, u can go from very pastel soft colors n style, to smth very vibrant n sharp, to smth like dark n chalky-sketchy kind of vibe if im making sense T__T, basically go wild!! go crazy!! dont let urself sit in 1 box! hop into other boxes !! or wear all of them!! or poke holes in the box n add stuff to the box or wear a circle!! trust me it looks so fun if u put different artworks uve made side by side n go wow i did that!!

also create small thumbnails 4 illustration! its really best to plan ahead art too, as i said i used to just head straight in n not plan but ive learned to absolutely enjoy planning making art! collecting refs n seeing what kind of composition goes n what colors wud work is so very fun actually! it rly helps a lot

theres also this one post i lost the link, but basically it shows how much progress u can make if u make loose sketches vs full on rendered illustrations vs a mix of both, again this depends entirely on u bc things r different for everyone! i think that post is really good for teaching abt art progress (if any1 knows where it is pls do link!), i think focusing on sketches n practice is better tho bc it helps u draw more freely n loosely! i think that speeds up ur process more as well n doesnt make u lose interest immediately compared 2 focusing on finishing 1 big rendered illust (talking from experience) but then again its different for every1 so honestly just experiment n see what feels right for u!

i wna say tho that although it is good to make sure ur drawing looks right its also good to just let yourself draw freely, i think what matters is that u understood the structures of something and as long as ur able to apply that in ur own way i think thats gud! i think drawing freely helps u draw more fluidly? like having more expression is what i mean. ive gotten into the "i have 2 make this look right" hole before n i noticed it made my art look stiff, so highlyy recommend doing gesture drawing n life studies! rmb to have fun when practicing n learning,

dont pressure urself too much! enjoy the experience :] ! messy sketches r good!! not everything has to look good or perfect! my sketchbooks from way back were just doodles, pencil sketches no color mostly, theres an occasional lined one w markers , ballpen, n some highlighters, n my drawings were either smth funny that happened w me n frens with our personas or making ocs for my faves or ocs for me in general!

ur sketchbook doesnt have to look pretty its like ur diary but its art ykno! ur thoughts in visual form for the day! (again all up to u as long as u have fun! its all different 4 everyone!)

19. What do they think about before falling asleep at night?

Vijay thinks about what has happened during the day, then his thoughts get distracted by another thought about tomorrow and he's stuck thinking about how tomorrow will be — if it will go like he's planned or if something will distract him. Before a job he is in total focus on the job procedure, plays every possible outcome through in his mind, makes it worse than it is and plans even more. Sometimes he's so busy thinking in bed that he thinks for hours and hours without getting tired and it'S already morning. Eventually he decided he needs to find some sleep or else. He often has to take some meds to find sleep at all because he cannot stop thinking.

31. Most prized possession?

His DMC DeLorean 80s retro car. (I'm waiting patiently for the mod to find its way into cyberpunk - I've seen someone works or has worked on it as I saw a picture but well. I never ask (there was a mod of it long time agot but it'S broken since before 2.0 so I … sit and wait for it so I can add it for him).

24. Is there one subject of study that they excel at? Or do they even care about intellectual pursuits at all?

If you ask jaysen about his studies, he hated every subject. But that didn't mean he didn't care about it, nor was he bad at it. He was good in most, it didn't even needed to learn much but he finds it boring to learn for a test and learn fo it so you are able to have a good job with goo paid money. E.g. he was good at mathematics and physics rathern than language heavy subjects. But as said he doesn't care much about it. And I don't think I have to say he's temenduously good in all things netrunning as a netrunenr should be good in this just by basics or they will get fried on their first day of chippin' in.

27. What is their biggest regret?

Jay doesn't really regret something that lies in the past. He maybe only regrets that he didn't found out about his twin brother vijay sooner which led to have missed so much time with him as they did not grew up together. So if he regrets one thing it would be that he and his brother could have have a normal life together but he, neither Vijay, had an influence back in the events tat happened because they were both just about to be three years old.

4. What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy?

This is a weird question. Ryder's kitchen is NEVER busy xD It's his kitchen, and I doubt that even Thyjs once he joins him in the Glen flat will never cook much either and even if he would cook sometinh - there's still so muhc space for Ryder to cook himself something as well. But the boys usually don't cook. They order or go out.

14. Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.)

the only disability Ryder has since he was born was his astigmatism. he wasn't allowed to get optics until he turned 18 (his family hates cyberware) and always wore contacts other than that he does not have any disabillity neither long-term illness or any intolerances. It would be fatals if he had given his German royal Corpo bloodline. I don't know if replacing his good arms with cyberarms counts as some sort ob abnormality? I mean who the fuck just walks into a ripper doc's office and demands "Cut off my arms and install me some with blades!" having literally no clue what Ryder was demanding there. At this point of his life he literally changed everything on himself drastically often not thinking about wether this decision is good or not. Hate and anger mainly for Cyberpsychos drove him towards this decision. Of course the blades made it able so he could protect and defend himself in the first place, and he finally had sometihng that was added to his overall look that can be freightening plus he could fight with his integrated weapon he's always carriend with himself. If trained right mantis blades serve you well. What he did not have in mind: learning how to live with two cybernetic forearms from now on that have sharp blades, he didn't know how to handle at first. Also add the fact that he will never feel touch again like he used to hasn't been on his mind back then either. He was only to discover it afterwards because the ripperdoc didn't care much to inform him about it since Ryder seemed to be bold and harsh. At the start Ryder often second-guessed himself about this decision he made. In the beginning he often sat at home having problems just to grab a beer because he had to learn that his brain accepts the cyberware and the given commands were set into the right motion. Nontheless he kept them and accepted his decision. The cybernetics are good tech, yet now a bit outdated though, and the doc did a godo job so Ryder's body accepted the integration well. He doesn't feel any pain and everything works like it should. He gets them checked frequently.

7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time

okay this question gives me a headache. I don't know how to answer that, I'm too dumb for this and as I want this post to be finally posted I'll let this unanswered bc I hadn't an answer for it all the previous months … I'm sorry.

26. Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout?

Thyjs future has always been the military. The only future he saw himself in was being a colonel later or maybe a higher rank, command a bigger section in his senior days and then live the rest of his life having a family if he would not die in a mission. Future took another turn for him landing in NC, betrayed by Militech (NUSA not EU). He doesn't know where his future leads him now, he only knows he's a part of the team now and his task is to protect this team by all means – especially Ryder. They don't know what awaits them at the end of their journey, how it plays out for everyone but he knows he wants to stay at Ryder's side and just let future come at him. He also does not want to bother about it too much. You can't really coontrol it anyway.

18. Favorite beverage?

all kinds of lemon water and soda. Be it hot or cold. Hizumi drinks an average amount of this each day. Vending machine provide it whenever you want (especially in Japan).

22. Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?

Hizumi would draw one illustration after another of japanese yokai in all sorts and variations. Thy love to draw and mostly in a traditional way also often with brushes and chinese ink.

oh! well yes, but also no. in regards to the organizing assets thing, imean.

specifically what i was doing was grabbing sprites n making little paperdolls out of em picrewstyle for fun little talksprites! basically just taking and layering their images so you can change their expression n stuff.
