So i have a small nicpic i wanted to share with you about your interpretation of spike in the au and i want to make two things clear before i talk

1) i havent watch the series for a little while as of now so i might be misnterpreting a aspect of this chatacter that might have never been there and only apeared in fan content and personal interpretation (since that whats been keeping me on the fandom)

2) this is not a big problem about the au i matured enough to not get angry at a interpretation of a fictional charater

I feel spike being the same race as the rest of his familie makes him lose a part of his character that might have not been central but was still something interesting about him and is the idea of not mayhering how diferent he looked from his adoptive family (and his cominty as a whole) he was he was still seen as part of it

Again this isnt a big problem with the au as a whole its just a small nicpic that i have about the au and its not going to make me hate the au

I understand this criticism and agree that having Simon/Spike be a different race than Thea could speak to their relationship in the original show.

My reasoning for designing them both to be African American is this. I believe Simon's adoption is enough to explore the feelings of separation and exclusion he may have with Thea and her family. The original show doesn't bring up Twilight and Spike's racial differences much because they originally didn't consider Spike to be a part of Twilight's family. As far as I know, there's no moment where someone says, "Wow! You're telling me you're related to Twilight Sparkle? But you look nothing alike!" because Spike was more so Twilights... familiar than anything.

Later episodes that explore their familial dynamic poses the conflict through Spike's adoption. There's one episode where Spike's "biological father" returns, and Spike accuses Twilight of not being his real family, which breaks her heart. There's another that delves deep into Spike's feelings of exclusion from Twilight and Shining Armor's siblinghood. Basically, in discussions of family dynamics, the show places more emphasis on Spike's identity as an adopted sibling rather than a dragon.

I really do believe a multiracial family would be good representation, but the racial dynamics would not be something I'd be interested in getting into. That's not to say I find real multiracial families problematic or uninteresting or unappealing or unimportant. I just wouldn't be interested in having to explain in-text that Simon (non-black) and Thea (black) are related over and over; it would grow tedious. It adds an extra level of writing complication and opens up racial discourse (discourse that I feel is unrelated to their relationship in the original show) that I don't want to concern myself with, especially because I have no experience in navigating such discourse.

hiiii haha. hello. exceptionally awkward introduction bc idrk how to start something like this so let's just jump right in. im taking a break from this account for a bit. i know i said i wanted taob out before halloween and currently im fine sticking with that deadline, but if i decide i need longer away then i will take longer away. every time ive reassured people that id never abandon a fic and updates will always come eventually i never once considered that my writing and ability to feel safe and comfortable on this site would be actively taken from me, so im not even going to apologise. i dont want this either and more importantly i dont fucking deserve it. i dont know what it is in the past year, if ive hit a certain amount of followers or 'popularity' that's made it so the natural ratio of positive to negative interactions must in turn go up, but there's been a serious uptick in weird asks for me. the annoying part is that a very small amount of them are actually objectively mean and hateful, the rest are just weird and invasive from people who seemingly dont realise that's what they're being. ive reached a point where i dont care if the intentions are good. it's not my job as a 20 year old tumblr user of all things to defend the morality of someone who couldnt even bother to come off anon. unfortunately, after blocking only one or two anons, the weird asks have decreased substantially, which says all you need to know about the fascinating and exhilarating lives led by these people, but ive also gone on to turn anon asks off entirely. this is something i actively fought against doing and had to be pushed into by my mutuals (who have been the coolest people on planet earth during this entire thing). turning off anon was a big deal to me even if it sounds silly. i felt betrayed and like id been backed into a corner because it was so vehmently something i DIDNT WANT that to feel like i had to do it anyway for my own mental health??? that sucks. so even though ive 'fixed' the problem, im still kind of reeling and uncomfortable every time i come on tumblr. i hope it's just something i need time to ease because i'll truly be devastated if this becomes 'ruined' for me. tumblr exists as the only place in the world where i am honestly every facet of myself without shame or hesitation; losing that would be insanely harmful to me. and to the people who cant appeal to the actual human behind the post, let me put that in words you can understand: we wouldn't get any more writing 😦😦😦 riots and fires and sirens, i know. so yeah. to anyone who has sent me an anon ask and you're now wondering if you were part of the problem, im firmly of the belief that you'll know if you are. when i say 'weird asks' i dont mean 'you sent me a para about your personal life just to vent or ask for advice' or 'you sent me a really deep emotional compliment about the impact me and/or my writing has had on you' - i love asks like that, so much that i put off taking a break and turning off anon solely for the joy they bring me. im sorry that it might feel like you're being punished too bc of the actions of what in reality is a HANDFUL of weird people, but this is what i feel like i have to do to feel safe and not go insane every time i log in. love you guys, hopefully ill see you soon x

I've been reading a lot of ur Dottore ramblings with others and fics, and i have a random thought about Foxtorre and the pufftorres always beefing with Dottore and other segments 24/7 😭 like whenever Dottore commands them to leave reader's room (he wants to have some alone time with his s/o 👀), Foxtorre and pufftorres are either giving him the nastiest side-eye or just pounch at him. Poor reader have to stop or scold them every single time 😭

When Dottore tries to kick Foxttore out of the room, he bites the scientist, which doesn't hurt too much considering his strength but, it's a surprise, and the angry creature holds on for dear life no matter how hard he tries to shake it off. You end up having to remove Foxttore and cradle it in your arms for the rest of the day, making your husband even more irritated. Why does an abomination get more attention than your own husband...? He hugs you from behind all while glaring at the creature. Puffttores aren't any better. Will try and crawl all over his body to distract him from work but he bullies them more because they can't particularly fight back...

Dottore holds a scalpel to Foxttore but the creature doesn't even flinch, in fact it seems to be smirking at him to say 'you can't do it otherwise [Name] will never forgive you.'

Dottore doesn't know how or when that little abomination got so smart.

the last time sae fought with you was long back. just like every couple. it happens, as it sometimes does, nothing surprising, nothing unhealthy. this afternoon stood different, however. as he halted himself mid way, incase the passive-aggressive tones would escalate into yellings or more or worse.

now as he was zoned out at the grocery store. the elderly cashier, who was intently scanning items at her register, she likely wouldn't pass judgement on him. it was late, after all, and the store was relatively quiet. with this moment of quiet, he allowed himself to ponder the fight that occurred. and he realises that he did the right to halt his words midway. he's glad he shut his mouth. he knows he should do it often.

despite the painful awkward silence that lingered in the afternoon—all due to his mistake—he considers himself lucky. as you, still accepted a kiss on the cheek before he stepped out, and this memory quickly pushed away the recollection of the fight from his mind. his thoughts now dwelled on this brief, tender moment with you, and he yearned for more. he wanted to kiss you more. everywhere his lips desired.

it was his time to ignore you when you kept telling him not to order food. his phone snatched right after he dialed three digits. it was his turn to get annoyed as well, grabbing onto your wrist tightly and pulling you closer. his mind diving into the gutter deeper if possible. just a little closer and he'd have the kiss he yearned. and you waited for it too, half out of anxiety and half out of—cause maybe you yearned to give him the affection that he craved for so long. but instead, he simply snatches his phone back, keeping in mind to not cross the boundaries. but he's a bit selfish too. still holding onto your wrist and keeping you closer. until distraction in the form of the pack of condoms fall from the bag.

you're not looking at him, he's doesn't really have more courage to keep staring at you. but he already assumed what you might be thinking. he assumed you were thinking of his audacity to...

you shove him away. grabbing onto the two chocolate bars as you head to the bedroom while sae reminds he's still gonna order food. and he lets out the most heart-wrenching sigh any living creature has ever made.

sae sees you eating the chocolate bars while being in the bed. considering if he should nag at you or make a lame joke about getting ants in the bed. he decides to shut up instead. thinking that yeah, that's probably the better thing to do.

you're already lying on your side when sae plops on the bed beside you. putting an arm around your waist as he pulls you in closer, he apologizes. yes. itoshi sae says sorry. you let out a deep breath, him feeling you resisting the urge to push his hand away.

he makes you turn to face him. his voice seeming much bold and stricter only for him to go dead silent when you do so. eyes shamlessly falling onto your lips. and oh how he wanted to have those handsy make-out sessions. which were pretty rare, only making his mind wander even more with other naughty possibilities.

he takes your hand in his instead. kissing on the cold knuckles as says sorry again. placing more kisses on your fingertips while repeatedly apologizing.

So I finally got around to doing the Fontaine Archon quests. My friends looked at me weirdly when I literally (excitedly) shrieked when Legacy showed up.

Anyway, I wanna affectionately bite him. But my affectionate bites are very.. rough? I put a lot of force into them and thus hurt people. So I don't affectionately bite anymore.

But I wanna. Which made me wonder how affection-biting different aspects of Legacy would feel. Like, yeah the armor will be hard, but there's (probably??) areas not covered in armor. Also wondering if neck/shoulder floof feels different from head floof.

alright so *claps hands* Foul Legacy is mostly covered in armor, buuuuut the area around his neck near his fluff is softer- it feels like the underside of a snake, if you've ever felt one! that's why under his chin is one of the best places to scritch, apart from behind his horns. his neck is the main area that feels different, since almost everywhere else is covered in armor; when he purrs, you can feel the vibrations in his throat more than his chest, and if you want to monch him and leave teeth marks, his neck is your best bet (it also makes him shriek and let out deep, rumbling laughs because he's also quite ticklish around there). BUT if you want to give him very hard chomps, that's actually completely alright, as long as you do it on his armor instead! you'll need to be careful and make sure you don't damage your own teeth, but other than that you can bite to your heart's delight, and Legacy will give you a few much gentler nibbles of his own

his fluff does feel different from his hair, the fluff feels considerably softer and lighter, almost like a poofy lilac cloud. it becomes even softer and fluffier when he's particularly pleased or trying to impress you, ruffling up his fur and purring happily when you comb it back down with your fingers- but it's at its absolute fluffiest when he gets startled by something, the fur poofing up into a purple cotton ball, and his hair bristles a bit when he's frightened, too. also, the upper part of his cape is physical! it's smooth and cool and feels like fine silk, even when it shifts into a pair of wings. the tips are intangible, dissolving into nothingness and starlight, but occasionally you can feel light pecks on your skin like raindrops, almost as if the stars themselves are landing and shattering on your hands. you can pet his cape-like wings too, as long as you're gentle, and soon you'll have a drowsy, rumbly Abyss monster curled up in your lap <3

there's a discussion post right here that has a lot of different people's opinions which might be interesting! my company knowledge is honestly not that great but i can list the companies that i do have something to say about!

i would order without worries: myethos (good prices and they always slay), alter (i rarely hear anything negative about them and their idol figs are the best), kotobukiya (yes they have misses with boring poses or bad faces sometimes but at least you can tell on the promo pics. what you see is what you get and their prices are fair) and stronger (they have one big flop (their leaning devil homura) but as far as i know everything else they did was a win).

mixed feelings: good smile company (their pop up parades can turn out really bad and their nendoroid's contents vs price ratios are bad sometimes but they can make really incredible scale figs)

not a fan: furyu (their prices are inhumane and their quality control is bad. i personally only buy their figures on auctions for a low price) and estream (overpriced and also bad quality control to the point that many seller will not accept cancelations on their figures (and remember the albedo hairdryer situation......yeah) but sometimes their figures turn out really great (gojo for example)) and freeing (i usually like their mikus but they have made some really low quality bunnies and their designs are getting lazier while their prices keep getting higher)

truly awful reputation: b'full, FOTS japan, insight, griffon enterprises, with fans!, toytec and orca toys. i don't have personal experience with these (thank god) but i would recommend staying away from them.
