tbf there also many times where c!Dream has admitted to enjoying people's suffering and saying how much he enjoys chaos with the cc confirming that. There have been many characters to say it and show it so I'm not sure if that's the best example to use to define chaotic evil or if he classifies as neutral good and going by minecraft logic in the case for Cquackity then griefing and stealing for any character isn't a big deal in comparison to characters that say they enjoy torture and do it, or characters that blow up entire nations like c!wilbur.
[context]
To be fair, chaotic alignment isn’t necessary about actual “chaos” as it is about defying boundaries for the sake of freedom and such. (I swear I tried really hard to understand this dnd based alignment system and it’s almost too simple and yet complex at the same time). If it was about actual chaos then George would by far be in that alignment as he is unpredictable and loves to wreak chaos more so then Wilbur… but more importantly, I’ve talked a bunch about Dream being a notorious liar and performer. As such, I cannot emphasize enough how the context of what he’s saying is so important to get an accurate view, especially because we don’t get his pov. So even if he admits to enjoying chaos, and other people’s suffering, the context is important to understand if it’s true and why he might etc. In general though, his behavior (excluding the dramatic villain act), doesn’t seem to be to hurt others, rebel or cause chaos.
I’m addition, Dream is not classified as lawful as he does not abide by a set code, strict guidelines or authority. His actions change based on the situation and whose side he’s on, which tends to be whoever has been wronged. To the point he’ll break his own rules for the sake of fairness, equality, peace and justice. So he may help Tommy burn the Eiffel Tower one minute to avenge Tommy’s cow and Niki’s fox, but fight Tommy one second later for killing Ponk for no reason. But everyone I put in the good alignment have often done things for other people despite it not benefiting them. (Huh, perhaps that is why they are some of the most taken advantaged of and dehumanized characters…)
Anyways, we aren’t really talking about the other characters, just these 9 I was given so whether other people also expressed enjoyed of suffering or whatever is irrelevant… and yes given the lawless and destructive world of the dsmp, stealing and destroying can be considered less evil then stating an enjoyment of torture. Which is in last why, since that applies to Sam, Quackity and Tommy, who have actively participated in and expressed enjoyment from torturing and hurting people in one way or another, it makes sense to put them in the evil alignment. As far as Wilbur goes, I couldn’t exactly have multiple in the same box, otherwise he probably would be in chaotic evil. But as I did it by more extremes and he doesn’t just like torture people (even if he fantasized it) he gets put in neutral as a more so selfish but not necessarily malicious. (if blowing up nations is the definer of alignment then are we saying Dream, Techno, and Philza are all in the evil alignment as well as Wilbur, to which I hope we can all disagree with)… but um yea if you are confused about my placement of Dream and Tommy I recommend reading some of my other posts where I’ve talked about it more…
