One of my friends has been blessing me with clips of Saw the Musical recently and I can’t help but keep hearing the similarities between these two songs
“I need to make sure the kids are okay—” she pants, doing her best to shove aside the pain that spikes through her body as she tries, for the third time, to look over her shoulder.
Also for the third time, Fred sighs. “They’re fine,” he assures, threads of exasperation weaving in at the fringes of his voice. “I can see them. Will you just sit still?”
“Ash took a direct hit from the—”
“Veta.” Huge hands—hastily stripped of their armor and now stained crimson—clamp firmly, but gently, against either side of her face, keeping her anchored. “The kids are fine,” he repeats. Slower. Softer. “Trust me, they’ve been through a lot worse. You can check on them after I get this shrapnel out of you. Stop moving.” A slow second crawls by. She’s reminded—again—how much Fred’s eyes look like the ocean. “...please.”
Her instinct to nod is overridden by the heat radiating from his hands, still pressed tight right below her cheekbones. If this were anyone else, she’d feel threatened. Cornered. She doesn’t.
She breaks the settled silence a few moments after he’s finally released her and resumed his first-aid. “...you called me Veta.”
He doesn’t look up. “Trying to get your attention.”
She hums; a neutral non-answer. His hands had left echoes of warmth behind her jaw—smears of her own blood, too, but amidst the sting of injuries and biofoam, it’s doing her more good to focus on the former. “......you called them kids.”
I’m a technical theater person for fun and volunteer hour reasons, one of the creatures that run around backstage making plays and musicals run, and I got my start by diving in the deep end by mic wrangling a musical.
Technical theater people are called crew, making up one third of the trifecta of cast (actors), crew (tech), and pit (orchestra for live music) that create musicals.
I do this at my school and have two years in a row. I’m a veteran of the mic crew for musicals.
I had a question that’s been bugging me since I started scrolling for fanart, and that’s how come you give Gillion a yellow eye like jays? Not for criticism, just really curious.
ok tbh this might not be 100% accurate bc i dont even remember when i started doing this design BUT:
its based off of how the church of the sun believes that Aster picked a chosen hero to decide the fate of the world (i think it was mentioned sometime during the undersea arc where they were curing chips curse i think). and gill made a joke like “oh i have 2 goddess moms” so the yellow eye is a reference to the sun goddess while the other is to the moon goddess 😭👍
one thing about the tma & tmp writers is I know they understand having a job where the social vibes are incredibly strange. I appreciate their commitment to depicting work environments that are so unnecessarily stressful where everyone is trying to backstab everyone and form alliances but meanwhile it's just filing items on a computer. The petty drama feels very true to life
