I find this dichotomy so funny:

Odysseus, who has been in war for years and is quick to be crafty and trick his enemies: *laments and mourns giving up mercy and being forced to become the monster*

Telemachus, the one with a reputation of being small and weak with a good heart: *kills a man from behind while they’re distracted without any hesitation or remorse*

Sebastian tugging on his lure to turn on its light has become such a ubiquitous thing in Pressure fanworks that I can’t help wondering if everyone is aware that real anglerfish lures are not, in fact, electric light bulbs. The light comes from bioluminescent bacteria that live in the lure, rather than from the anglerfish herself. The lure is actually “on” all the time, since the bacteria don’t stop glowing, and the lure simply is either covered or uncovered by a flap of skin at the end which exists for this purpose.

I know it’s because in-game he tugs on his lure when his light turns on but honestly that just makes me wonder why, and so far I have three ideas:

he doesn’t have the best control over it and can’t always cover or uncover it at will, so he does it by hand and the tug is just to disguise the motion

neural body-mapping issues caused by his mutations mean that he doesn’t always recognize the lure as a part of him, and tugging on it helps to ground it as a part of his body that he can control

he’s a wiseass and he’s doing it purely for the bit because his only sources of amusement for the last decade have been schadenfreude and his own suppressed goofiness
