MAYBE I JUST WANNA BE YOURS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
desc: suna x reader | Loving him quietly never seemed enough. But he never stopped loving since you left. Letters read years too late, just as your heart starts to love again. But not every goodbye stays gone. Not every love stops burning.
Tumblr media
SECRETS THAT I HAVE HELD IN MY HEART, ARE HARDER TO HIDE THAN I THOUGHT...
Suna never needed words.
Seldom was he loud about his feelings, never the type to announce things or drown you in sweet affections. But you knew. You always knew.
It was the way his eyes narrowed when he’s pissed— never at you, always for you. How his eyebrows furrowed whenever teachers scolded you unfairly, or when a classmate got a little bit too close for a second too long during a group project. He never said anything, but his silence grew sharper, heavier—like a fuse waiting to light.
It was in the mundane moments. Ordinary choices that didn’t look like love to anyone else. Like when he prefers leaning on your left shoulder—never the right. You’d asked once, casually, “Why not this side?” but he never explained. “I can see your face better,” he muttered. But you think it's because it’s easier for him to show you tiktoks. It was always the smallest things to him.
The way he always found you in every room like it was second nature. In every crowd, his eyes never fail to find yours. The gym, cafeteria, or school gates, no matter the place, he always knew where you were.
Sometimes, a glance across the field. The brush of shoulders in the halls. The tug of your hand as he led you down a hallway no one ever walked down except the two of you.
The cracked wall behind the rooftop door. The science wing’s back corridor. The unused staircase no one uses, which creaks on the fourth step. His fingers would find yours, tangled beneath desks, in the fold of jackets, between late-night messages and early morning silence.
You can read him like a book. A little too well. You saw how his shoulders tensed whenever you teased him about going public with your relationship. A subtle change in topic, a low hum when you asked, “What are we?” jokingly.
And he’d shrug, avoiding your gaze. “Does it matter?”
And part of you wants to believe that it doesn’t. You used to tell yourself that your content having him like this. This quiet, hidden kind of love was still love. But the ache never went away. It only grew.
After graduation.
After he became a professional volleyball player.
After life kept moving like you hadn’t given so much to someone who never said the words out loud.
He got busier. And you became the secret he couldn’t afford to slip. A saved contact with no name, just a heart emoji. A “I can’t call right now” and a photo of another hotel room.
You tried to believe that it was enough.
But it wasn’t.
To watch someone live a life where you didn’t exist. To love someone who meant forever but spoke like you were temporary. To love someone who kept you hidden. Like being seen with you looked like a mistake.
Loving him feels like holding on too tightly, that it might break.
How his fingers would intertwine with yours, but letting go the moment someone else entered the room. Or how he’d constantly text you at 2 am, “miss u”, then leave you unread for hours when morning came.
You finally had enough.
The final crack came quietly. Unexpectedly, like the ache you’ve felt for years was non-existent. No fight. No slammed doors.
When the words slipped out, “I don’t think I can keep doing this,” and he didn’t even say anything.
You waited. For a word. A nod. Anything.
But, nothing.
Years of stolen glances, secret corridors, and quiet rooms. Years of pretending it was enough. That maybe if you waited long enough, he’d finally say it.
But he never did.
People grow apart. It’s just the way it is. Just two people slowly fading from each other’s lives.
So you unfollowed his account. Deleted all your private rants on your burner account that he never saw. You moved cities. Found a job. Met new people, new friends. Laughed, smiled, and built a life you never imagined could happen without him.
You even forgot, and started telling yourself that this was better. And you believed it. Until today.
Ding.
In the middle of cooking dinner (surprisingly not burning the house down yet), you open your door. And on the floor, a wrapped package. No name on the return address. No clues.
Until you spot your name. In his handwriting.
“Hikari.”
Your heart drops.
You hold the package a little too long, staring at it, hoping it’ll disappear. But it doesn’t. You bring the package inside.
Sit at the kitchen table. Stare at it.
For a second, you think about throwing it away. Pretending you never saw it. But you’ve never been able to ignore him.
You quickly open the package. Still recognizing his signature perfume as you opened it. He must’ve sprayed his perfume on this.
Inside— letters.
Dozens. Each one dated. Sealed. Stacked in chronological order, like a timeline of a love he never found the courage to live out loud. Some even go as far as to ask when you first started dating.
Some envelopes are crumpled a bit, like they’ve been handled too many times. Others are in pristine condition. You recognize the ink he used to write with in class. Even the faint scent of his cologne still clings to the paper—like the memory of him never faded.
And atop the stack of letters, a folded note. The ink is smeared in places, with tear stains on the paper.
“I don’t know if this will ever reach you. Or if you’ll even open it if it does. I’m not good at saying things out loud. You know that. But I’ve regretted every day since you left, wishing I had. These are all the things I should’ve said to you when you were still here.
This is the only way I knew how to show you everything I’ve kept hidden for so long. I don’t know if it’s too late. But if there’s even the smallest part of you that still wonders—I loved you. I always will. —Rintarou.”
Your vision blurs. Tears build up in your eyes.
The words carried weight, ringing in your mind like a curse. You try reading the words again, tears flowing out. Slower each time. Like your brain was bracing for impact.
Because it’s him. And you knew him, he was never the type to admit his feelings. And it hit harder this way.
Your hands hover over the first letter before opening it, only to see the ring you wore, reminding you of the decision you made.
Too late, you think.
Too late, too late, too late.
Then—
“Babe?”
The voice snaps you back to reality.
The front door creaks softly as Atsumu steps inside, damp from his evening run. He comes up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. He pauses when he sees your face.
“Hey, why are you crying? What happened?”
You flinch, closing the package immediately, but he spots it.
His voice softens. “...Is that from him?”
You can’t speak. His arms hesitate, then wrap around your waist tightly,  “You opened it.”
After a long silence, his voice—raw. Hesitant: “Should I be worried?”
He looks up, searching your eyes for an answer.
You want to say no. You really do.
And Atsumu just stares at you— in that moment, doesn’t fight it. He just nods once like he already knows.
Some ghosts don’t knock when they come back.
And some loves never really leave.

a soon-to-be-husband's plan for successful marriage! w.c. ~900
requested by: @kimura-uzuri lots of kisses as per the request, suggestive, all of them are idiots in love and mega pathetic (just how we like 'em amirite) added some extra characters & stretched the prompt, but the core remains the same - hopefully you don't mind :)) (!! written before playing 3.1! only seen some bits and pieces)
Tumblr media
anaxagoras's "all according to calculation" love letter!
to my dearest, if you were to reject me, i think i'd cry with my one eye since our fateful encounter, i've found myself... happy agitated, with these bothersome feelings aglaea said it was "love". hah. what does she know?, aroused by, simply, your presence in my orbit. it nags endlessly, claws at my throat when i breathe, these insignicant matters should afford me no pleasure... yet, the heart is no longer a master of itself, desperately wrestling from your grip, but inevitably chained to your smile that is interwoven with my memories. i also cannot forget how you suplexed me after our first kiss my lips spring and curve at an accord of their own when you spare as little as a glance at me. to who else can be ascribed such a feat? congratulations i guess a scholar's instinct is to question in the face of adversity. and questions must be accompanied by answers. as i write this to you, i have finally sumrised the truth. why i feel what i do, i must acknowledge it now... i adore you. i am eternally yours-- i must spend my life with you. ... *unintelligible scribbling*
anaxagoras looks up from his page, staring at you. "did that work?"
work? it didn't even try. "what? what are you- why did you read me a whole love letter? i didn't even know you had it in your bones to write sappy romance."
anaxagoras's eye twitches. he took that to heart. his formula for the perfect proposal is breaking, time to move onto plan b.
you throw your hands on your hips. "what's with you?" kiss. "you just came home after-" kiss. "-being away for so long." kiss. "is something wrong with your head?" kiss. "stop that! it won't distract me from your failure of a proposal."
"tch." anaxa clicks his tongue, slumping defeatedly like a child who got caught red-handed. so much for his perfect plan. well, when all else fails, there's only one final strategy: "well? are we getting engaged?"
you sigh. "you could've said that in the first place..." kiss. "..."
little did you know, that was a display of anaxagoras's restraint. the power of a scholar comes from more than their words, you learned the hard way, sore in bed the next day.
Tumblr media
phainon's "super special, totally epic °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°" checklist!
1. i miss my partner so much... (´-ω-`) must return to okhema 2. buy a ring (maybe ask aglaea?) (ugh, i can't let mydei know or he'll tease me) 3. ??? 4. become husband!!! (☆ω☆)
step 1. miss my partner... check. duh. ┐(‘~` )┌ return to okhema? check.
step 2. buy a ring. check. aglaea, with a stifled chuckle, gladly helped the clueless phainon pick out a ring perfect for you. after all, someone who pairs an orange shirt with purple pants could hardly be trusted with picking out an engagement ring. successfully avoided mydei's keen eyes.
step 3. ???
phainon stares at you. "???"
"???" you stare back.
"???????????" phainon took the third step too literally. what is this doofus doing?
realising that his plan is falling apart, phainon panics. "c-c-c-c-can i k-kiss you?" his lips unconsciously push together, pouting, as if practicing his kissing on your ghost.
you frown. "why are you asking like it's our first time doing it?"
"oh, right..."
you playfully roll your eyes. "come here, you."
phainon skips over, brightened, lowering his head for you. you press kisses on them. then, ten more for good measure, because, well, phainon and kisses just go well together, clicking like a puzzle.
"haha, that was nice." phainon's cheeks were red as tomatoes, pressing his hands on them like a youthful maiden in love. then, he latches onto your arm, intertwining. "let's settle down soon. i'm so tired of fighting bad guys all day," he mumbles.
"settle down? like family?" you ask.
"whatever you desire: children, dogs, cats, potted plants. i'm okay with anything you want, as long as you want it," phainon beams. "i just want to start a new life with you!"
beneath all the sweet words, phainon feels that he forgot something integral... something something... become husband... well, whatever. as long as you're happy, phainon can't think of much else when you're calling out his name at night. ( ‾́ ◡ ‾́ ) the neighbours are tired bro...
(days later, you found the engagement ring left in his pocket before taking his clothes for laundry)
Tumblr media
mydei's "conquer and overcome all adversities" (is he still talking about proposing?) goal!
1. propose
mydei holds out his hand. "let us form a legal, committal union under a contract."
your jaw drops. mydei had just returned home and these were his first words after being apart for so long? "s-sorry?"
mydei huffs. "you know what i mean."
"you mean a marri-"
COUGH COUGH.
...?
you scrunch your eyebrows. "you want to marr-"
COUGH COUGH.
... mydei is blushing, eyes glossy. how could one word have such an effect? scratch that, how has he made it this far into the relationship? romance was certainly not in the kremnoan dictionary.
you take a deep breath. "mydei, you can just say the word."
"the word."
you sigh. this was too slow. "fine. i agree."
"agree?" mydei looks at you expectantly.
"to establish a legal contract that binds us together."
"oh," mydei smiles. "well, let us make haste." he swings you over his shoulder easily, as if carrying feathers. now, it's going too fast - he really can't set a pace.
"hey! what the-" by the time you realised, you were already at an altar, face-to-face with your husband-to-be. never in your life have you witnessed your body being covered in so many marks the night after the wedding, and your lips were definitely bruised.
you sternly warned mydei, and what is repressed comes back stronger, as he hugged you 24/7, stealing your waist instead of lips. a kremnoan warrior always stays conquering, even when proving his eternal love for you.
Tumblr media
a/n: i just found out there are anaxa chibis but its too late im afraid. pea head anaxa for life who's with me also here's some behind the scenes! originally i wrote this for phainon's step 3:
phainon gets on his knees and- oh, oh my god- "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE-"
"phainon???" his name barely leaves your mouth as a breath, for you can hardly construct words, let alone a sentence.
LMAOOO it was way too much. anw ty again! i had fun writing it! sorry this was kinda short, i wrote this up as quick as i could. but if you'd like me to re-make the request bc it was too silly, lemme know xx

Wingless!Reader and Harpy!Gaz MY BELOVEDS!!!! She thinks she’s lost this thing that’s so crucial to her identity, so she must be unlovable now, and all he can think of is how amazing she is. Does she take a while to realize he’s hitting on her, or does he make it obvious immediately?
Short answer: it’d take her a while to accept that he is actually hitting on her! Thank you to @lostintransist, @sexc-snail, @ms-sasa, and @cod-z’s conversation for giving me inspiration for the long answer:
You hadn’t noticed him at first- not really.
It wasn’t like you expected to see another harpy in your small, isolated town. Not here, where the skies seemed too vast and empty, and you could pretend your feet had always been meant to kiss the earth instead of the wind. You liked it that way- liked the absence of feathers and sharp eyes that might rake over empty span of your back. You liked the illusion of anonymity.
At least, that’s what you told yourself.
But the illusion shattered the moment Kyle “Gaz” Garrick walked into your life.
You’d seen him before, of course- him and the rest of his team. They were hard to miss, their sheer presence enough to bend the air around them, predatory in a way that set all your instincts on edge. That aside, it was hard not to notice newcomers immediately, and it was your neighbors that told you about them first. Anout him.
Gaz, though… He wasn’t sharp edges and thunder like the others. He was soft winds and dusky skies, his gaze steady but warm. Even so, you hadn’t lingered long enough to catch the subtle flutter of wings beneath his jacket, hadn’t realized what he was until it was too late to pretend not to see him.
Now, standing in the market square with the autumn breeze tugging at his dark curls, Kyle was unmistakable.
A harpy.
His eyes found yours almost immediately. He didn’t flinch. Didn’t blink.
You did. You dropped your gaze and turned away, pulse pounding and pretending like what harpy left in you didn’t want to chirp and seek him out to meet him proper.
The social instincts were easier to curb with no other harpies around.
It took days for you to stop feeling the weight of that look- curious, searching, too focused for comfort. It was worse when you saw him again, and again after that, his paths seeming to cross yours no matter how you tried to avoid him. Always the same glance, steady and unreadable. Always the same tug low in your stomach that you hated yourself for feeling.
You didn’t want his attention.
You didn’t want to see the moment his eyes shifted, when recognition would bloom into pity or horror or, worse, disgust.
And yet he never looked away, even when you knew he must have understood by now that you are wingless.
You were restocking shelves in the little general store you worked at when he finally cornered you- not literally, but it certainly felt like it. The bell above the door had chimed, and you’d looked up instinctively, only to freeze when you saw him there.
“Hey.” His voice was warm and crooning. Friendly. But there was a weight behind it too, something that made your feathers- what was left of them- prickle beneath your skin.
You murmured a polite greeting and turned back to your task. Maybe he’d take the hint. Hopefully.
He didn’t.
“Not many of us around here,” he said, like it was casual conversation. Like it didn’t make your stomach twist into tight knots, ash coating the back of your throat where there should’ve been excited tweets and chirps.
You swallowed hard, and yet the taste lingered. “No.”
The silence stretched; not offensive, not choking. Simply there.
“I’m Kyle.” He tried again, gentler this time though you still didn’t look at him.
“I know who you are.” Your voice came out rougher than you meant, but you didn’t soften it. You couldn’t afford to.
Please go away.
He didn’t seem fazed. If anything, he simply chuckled, and the sound was so nice. “Small town things, huh? And you are?”
“Busy.”
That, finally, gave him pause. You felt his gaze sweep over you, not sharp this time, but careful. Calculating. Like a hawk.
“You don’t have to talk to me,” he said after a moment, and there was no offense in it, just understanding. “But I’d like it if you did.”
You didn’t know why that made something in your chest ache.
You wanted to snap at him, tell him to leave you alone, but the words died before you could force them out. Instead, you turned and met his gaze properly for the first time.
You braced for it- for his eyes to drop, for his expression to change.
It didn’t.
He just looked at you, steady as ever, and then he smiled.
He kept showing up after that encounter.
He was persistent in a way that wasn’t quite pushy, but left you no room for retreat. He showed up everywhere, always lingering at the edges of your space like he was waiting for an invitation you never gave. Sometimes he bought things from the store where you worked, even when it was obvious he didn’t need them. Other times he just passed by, pausing long enough to offer a nod or a smile, feathers fluffing out ever so slightly, before continuing on his way.
He never asked about your lack of wings.
He didn’t need to.
You caught him watching you sometimes, his gaze lingering just a moment too long before he looked away. But there was no pity in it, no revulsion. Just… interest. Curiosity. Like he was trying to figure you out.
You hated how much it made your heart race.
The first gift appeared on your doorstep after a bad storm.
It was a feather- deep brown with pale golden tips, sleek and perfect. A molted primary. Harpy wings didn’t shed often, and when they did, the feathers were treasured. Given, and never discarded.
You stared at it for a long time before picking it up, your fingers trembling. No. Was this a cruel joke? A mockery?
But harpies didn’t gift feathers lightly. It wasn’t just a token, it would never be used for a joke. It was a claim. A courtship.
You told yourself it couldn’t be from him, even if he was the only other harpy in town.
But when you saw Gaz later that day, his eyes flicked briefly to your hand where you still clutched the feather like it might disappear if you let it go. His mouth curved in the faintest of smug smiles before he turned and walked away, wings lax and fluffy; happy.
(Un)surprisingly, it didn’t stop there.
A polished stone one day, smooth and dark and heavy in your palm, made its home on your windowsill proudly. A sprig of rosemary the next, tucked into a small bundle of herbs tied with twine left with a basket of hunted game. Little things, carefully chosen, left where you’d be sure to find them.
You should have given them back. Should have told him to stop.
But you didn’t. Couldn’t, didn’t want him to.
You kept them, every single one. And still denied anything related to the idea of courting.
The first time he touched you, it was an accident. Or so you led yourself to believe.
You’d been hauling a heavy crate in the back room of the store when you slipped, hissing as pain flared along your shoulder. Before you could steady yourself, his hands were on you- gentle but firm, catching you before you could fall.
“Careful, love.” He murmured, his breath warm against your ear.
You froze.
It wasn’t just his touch; it was the way he leaned in, close enough that his wings brushed your arm, soft feathers ghosting over your skin. Harpies didn’t touch wings lightly. It was intimate, deliberate.
You stepped back quickly, your pulse hammering like a hummingbird. “I’m fine, Kyle.”
He didn’t move, dark eyes searching yours and wings still brushing over your skin like the calls of a siren. Are you?”
You hated how much you wanted to lean back into him, when you finally pull yourself away with the excuse of having work to do. His eyes followed you regardless, and you pretended not to hear his pleased croon.
The first time you let him close, it wasn’t an accident.
You were walking home after sunset, shadows long and creeping. The streets felt too empty, too quiet. You told yourself you were imagining things- the prickle at the back of your neck, the feeling of being watched. But harpy senses were never wrong, even ones wingless-
Then you saw them.
Three men leaning against the alley wall, eyes sharp and predatory. Not hybrids- just humans- but that didn’t make them any less dangerous.
You didn’t stop. Didn’t look at them. But they stepped into your path anyway, smiles sharp as knives.
“Not in the mood,” you kept your voice steady, sighing in the quiet confines of your mind.
They didn’t move.
Before you could react, a shadow loomed behind you, cutting through the dim light; Kyle, wings spread wide and threating behind him.
He didn’t say a word. Didn’t have to.
The men took one look at him- the sharp line of his jaw, the broad set of his shoulders, the feathers flaring at his back- and decided they wanted no part of him. They melted away into the night, quick and silent, and in no time they were simple specks of forgotten dust.
You let out a shaky breath, wrapping your arms around yourself as you turned to look at him. Despite the unpleasant encounter, he looed handsome like this, lip curled in disgust, jaw tight, brows furrowed.
Stupid thoughts.
“You okay?” Kyle asked, voice low. He kept looking around, on the look out in case anyone else tried their luck with you, and he hummed when he saw you nod.
You hadn’t realized it until now, but his hands were on your waist, tight but not enough to cause you any pain. You.. couldn’t bring yourself to ask him to let go, and so his hands lingered there.
Not too long- just enough for the heat of his touch to settle beneath your skin, warm and steady. Just enough for his thumbs to brush once, barely there, before he let go at last.
He didn’t step back, though.
“Come on,” he said, voice softer now, one wing open around you back like a shield. “I’ll walk you home, love.”
You didn’t argue. Couldn’t, not when the memory of sharp eyes and sharper smiles still clung to the edges of your thoughts. You nodded again, and when his wing brushed your arm- closer than any harpy should have dared- you didn’t flinch away.
Not this time.
You tell yourself you should have stopped it there.
Should have put some distance between you and Kyle before you let yourself sink any deeper than you’ve already allowed, but you didn’t.
You let him linger, let him watch you, let him keep leaving those little gifts like offerings. You let him walk you home when the streets grew dark and the wind grew cold, his wings always flaring slightly- protective, claiming. You invite him in, sometimes, longing for company yet unable to admit it to yourself.
And maybe that was the worst part.
Because some part of you- some buried, broken part that still ached for the wind and the skies- wanted to be claimed. Wanted the safety and warmth he offered so freely, even when you didn’t think you deserved it.
Especially then.
The next gift was the one that broke you.
You’d thought you’d grown used to them by now- the feathers, the stones, the herbs tied with twine. Small things. Careful things.
But this time, it wasn’t small.
It was a cloak.
Dark and soft, lined with feathers- harpy feathers. His feathers. Feathers that gleamed gold and brown, sleek and perfect. Feathers meant for flight; the same feathers that protected you, that stayed with you.
He’d given them to you.
His feathers.
The thought kept looping in your mind, loud and clear.
Your hands trembled as you touched the edge of the cloak, and you barely noticed when the door creaked open.
Kyle stepped inside, and his eyes softened the moment they landed on you. “Fits you, darling.” He said, low and warm as a setting sun.
“I can’t take this, Kyle.” You whispered, a deep ache attempting to burrow its way into the soft, vulnerable space between your ribs.
“Yes, you can.”
You looked up, and his gaze caught you, steady and unyielding. The ache melted away.
“Kyle-”
“It’s yours, honey.” He stepped closer, his wings shifting. “You’re mine.”
The words hit like a blow, but before you could retreat, he kept going.
“You think I don’t see it?” Kyle’s voice dropped, something raw and aching curling beneath it. “You think I don’t know? I don’t care about your wings, love. Never did. They do not make me think any less of you.”
You flinched, but he didn’t stop there.
He reached out, pulling you into the cocoon of his arms and wing. “You’re still a harpy. Still strong. Still you. Still the loveliest birdie I’ve ever seen.” His grip tightened, just slightly, and he hooked his chin over your head. “You’re not broken.”
Your throat closed.
He must have noticed, because his voice softened further, almost pleading.
“Let me keep you safe. Let me stay.”
You couldn’t breathe.
And yet, when his hand slipped down to tangle with yours, you didn’t pull away.

puppy pleads
Tumblr media
pairing: bakugou katsuki x reader
scenario: realizing that katsuki does everything you want ft. my dad with the dog he said he didn’t want
Tumblr media
Takeshi Bakugou compared to his other siblings listened to his parents the best. Not that the others don’t but by far he’s the quickest to respond doing whatever they asked, whether it be to go sleep on time or help sweep the floors. But one thing’s for certain and something he probably got from his father is that he’s unshaken when he sets his mind to something and that something he wants is a pet, a companion if you will.
But no matter how much times he asks and pleads they always seemed to tell him no. Well more specifically his dad refused, telling him that they’re too messy and require a lot of work. Takeshi understood that they probably couldn’t afford taking care of another living being especially since they had their hands full with his baby sister but c’mon he was feeling lonely. After his oldest brother left for U.A early and his other brother busy with presedential club duties things were just too quiet for his liking.
Don’t get things twisted though he didn’t feel left out with his parents. In fact he adores his baby sister and loves being an older brother after being the youngest for so long but can’t a boy just get another pal?
“Mom can you please convince dad to agree.” he begged as you sat there amused on a kitchen stool, feeding Asami a spoon of baby food.
“Love he tells me no too y’know.” you informed laughing slightly at his incredulous expression.
“Impossible!” he exclaims in total disbelief.
“It’s true, remember when he was on that one long month mission and you wanted to gonna sleep in our room because you missed your dad so much you wanted to sleep on his side of the bed because it smelled like him.”
“Yeah what about that time?” he asked skeptically.
“I asked him for a specific snack but it was already too late to get anything.” you replied wiping Asami’s messy mouth.
“But then he bought some coming home though, a few days after he got back he secretly ordered online and got them for you.” Takeshi pointed out with pinched eyebrows and a detective pout.
“Oh! I guess you’re right. Well there was also the time where I wanted to get another plushie for Asami but he said there was already too many.”
“Uh huh and he bought that too when you weren’t looking.” he confidently retorts.
“But….”
“Got you that too…”
“Also…”
“Surprised you…”
“That time…”
“Actually…”
And many more instances where you remembered Katsuki had told you no but actually in fact got what you wanted anyway.
“Okay! okay, maybe he doesn’t say no to me a lot.” you admitted, now realizing that fact.
“At all.” He corrected.
“Fine, I’ll ask your dad but I’m not promising anything kay? now can you please get more tissues before— wait Asami no!” you pried her little arms from trying to eat the food around her face with her palms.
“Kay!!” Takeshi smiled avoiding the messy onslaught and already looking like he just got what he wanted.
three months later
“Dad you can’t be giving Snowball too many snacks.” Takeshi laughed at the sight.
The small little puppy laying peacefully on the large hulking figure whose expression can send enemies running was a whiplash to see for sure. He had just gotten back from school and the new addition in to the family seemed to be fitting in perfectly. Takeshi knew just a couple weeks after his mom asked that his dad would give in.
“He wanted a treat, I can’t not give him a treat. What do you want me to do? not give him a treat? I have to give him a treat.”
“Okay dad.”

SMUT. MINORS DNI. 18+
It felt odd in a way, being alone for the first time.
Usually you were surrounded by your fellow Slytherins, the smell of cigarettes and cologne something your nostrils had grown accustomed to. The sound of vicious insults or bitter rants making a nest in your ears. The sight of scowls with liquor in their hands, their knuckles typically bruised and bloody.
But right now, all of that was gone. The air in the courtyard was clean, the breeze blowing past you providing you with the smell of the earth. Your sights were centered on a giant oak tree, as well as the moon that dimly illuminated the area below. It was an odd change, your surroundings being so settled. You couldn’t help but wonder what you would’ve become if you hadn’t been placed in Slytherin. Maybe yellow would’ve suited you better.
It wasn’t that you despised your housemates, even if they were a group of misfit toys. Mattheo protected you, Theo tutored you, Draco was always glued to your side. It wasn’t them that troubled you. It was what wearing the sickening shade of green meant. Submission to the dark lord. Following the ideology of pureblood nonsense. Especially being one of the only prominent girls, there was always the lingering question who’d you marry and reproduce with.
Yuck.
“Am I interrupting?”
You didn’t need to turn around. You’d recognize a Weasley’s voice anywhere. “Unfortunately not,” You admitted. You hated to admit you knew which Weasley twin it was, a lanky Fred Weasley plopping down beside you on the concrete steps. He stretched out his long legs, mere inches separating both of you. “Is there a reason you’re perched out here instead of doing shots with your friends?” Fred asked. How could you explain why? Oh yes, I am having an existential crisis because of the fact my dress is emerald. Want to go inside and split a chocolate frog?
“Where’s your other half? Didnt think you two separated,” You quipped, brushing off his question. Fred took the hint, leaning back on his hands. “Currently snogging Angelina Johnson,” He answered. This caught your attention, your head snapping to look over at him. “The chaser that wiped the floor with Blaise last season?” You asked. Sometimes you forgot how small this dreaded University actually was. Fred nodded, shrugging. “Aggressive on and off the field, just the way George likes em,” He replied.
You snorted. “Ahh yes. Makes sense a Weasley would enjoy being slutted out,” You snickered. It was too easy of a jab. Fred began to man spread, his long legs in your personal bubble. “I wouldn’t be so hasty little serpent. A few of us know how to put a brat in their place,” He smirked. The cocky motherfucker winked, heat dashing across your cheeks. You must be in a different dimension. There’s no bloody way a Weasley made you blush. “You’re cute when you blush,” Fred praised. He couldn’t help but notice how good you looked in the moonlight, the beams highlighting your features.
“Are you complimenting me Weasley?” You questioned. You avoided his gaze, trying to ignore the fact your heart skipped a beat. “Obviously not, i’m flirting with you,” Fred replied, unable to control the smile creeping across his lips. You were just so easy to tease. “What makes you think you can flirt with me?” You asked, turning your head to look over at the ginger. He shrugged, meeting your firey gaze with ease. “Perhaps it’s because we’re in the same boat, sitting out here alone in a bloody courtyard while the yule ball is less than five hundred feet away,” Fred explained. You audibly scoffed. “Weasley’s can’t afford a boat,” You spat.
Fred chuckled at your insult, your venom harmless to him. “Considering you’re out here I think it’s safe to say your boat has sank. Guess we’re on the same island together then,” He replied. You couldn’t help but find his facial expression smug. “Great,” You grumbled. You rested your chin on your knees, contemplating your life decisions. Fred sighed. “Well, if my presence really isn’t that valued i’ll relocate,” He said. He began to rise to his feet, your body doing a one eighty. You didn’t realize your hand was gripping his wrist until it was, desperately holding him in place.
“Sit down Weasley. I-,” You paused, looking up at the ginger. “I’d prefer it if you stayed.”
Fred grinned down at you mischievously, resuming his place beside you. “Figured you’d say that. Just wanted to hear you say it,” He gloated. You slapped his arm. “You’re unbearable. You know that don’t you?” You grumbled. Fred couldn’t help but laugh. Your annoyance was adorable. “You seem to like it,” He replied. You frowned as he stood up in front of you. “Do not,” You argued.
“Do too.”
“Do not!”
Fred extended his hand in front of you. The faint sound of classical music could be heard over the stillness, the wind having faded out. “Care to dance?” He asked. The choice was standing right in front of you, demanding an answer. You could say no and continue moping on the stairs. You could say no and go back inside, all eyes on you once again. Or you could say yes, potentially having a good time with a boy you didn’t belong with. Dancing with a Weasley? Draco would have a field day with this one. But Fred’s hand never looked more appealing than it did in that moment.
Hesitantly you took his hand, allowing him to bring you to your feet. Even in heels he easily towered over you, the ginger not hesitating to bring you close to his chest. “You know you can drop the bad girl act with me, I won’t tell,” Fred said, guiding you back and forth. You were an awkward dancer, despite the endless ballroom dancing classes your parents put you through. “It’s not an act,” You argue. Fred looked down at you, his face painted like he knew you. Like he could see right through your hollow shell.
“Sure it isn’t. And i’m not the best prankster in Hogwarts,” He quipped. You slowly spun you around, giving you time to catch up as you almost tripped in your heels. “You’ve really got quite an ego, don’t you Weasley?” You asked. Fred grinned as he pulled you back close to him. “Thats a bit hypocritical, don’t you think?” He asked. You glared up at him. “I think not,” You argued. Even though your words were laced with venom, you couldn’t deny how much you enjoyed his touch.
So gentle but so assertive, guiding you. Your mind strayed away, imagining him guiding you a different way. Guiding you to take his cock, to ride him until the sun came up. “Hey? Are you listening little serpent?” Fred asked, his voice coming back into frame. You blinked a few times, trying to regain your composure. “Sorry, what?” You asked. Fred slowly guided the dance to a stop, the song ending. You couldn’t help but wish it’d last forever. “I was asking what you’re thinking about,” He said.
You could feel yourself turning red, your filthy thoughts flooding to the forefront of your mind. You felt tongue tied, unable to confess your dirty fantasies. “Ohh, I see,” Fred said. You couldn’t bear to look at him in the eye, embarrassed enough to be in this position. You felt his slender fingers slide under your chin, guiding you to look up at him. You allowed him to guide you, his eyes boring into yours. You liked that, allowing him to guide you. Even if he was supposed to be bad for you, his touch put you on cloud nine.
“Do you like that? When I guide you? Take control?” Fred asked, his voice dropping an octave lower than before. You could’ve dropped to your knees in an instant. “Maybe I do,” You replied, not wanting to cave, not just yet. Fred leaned down further, pressing his lips against yours. His lips were warmer than you thought they’d be, filling the void inside of you. The void that craved approval and validation. His lips provided all of that and more. He guided you towards the giant oak tree, pinning you against it.
The sharp bark scraped at your back, a groan escaping your lips as Fred’s refused to stray from yours. You raked your hands throw his hair, pulling at the roots roughly. Fred whined into your mouth, smirking as he pulled away. “Cute,” He murmured. His eyes flickered behind you, ensuring no one was around. “As much as i’d love to make you squirm, we can’t do much here,” He whispered. You pulled him back to your lips, sliding your tongue into his mouth. You couldn’t get enough, your body craving him.
“That eager, are we?” Fred asked, pulling you back in for another kiss. You gently bit his bottom lip, pulling it towards you. “Fuck me, at the very least Weasley,” You ordered weakly, your body betraying the attempt at dominance you were spewing. Fred grinned mischievously. “Turn around for me pretty girl,” He purred. You did as asked, his large hands pushing you against the tree. You could hear the clinking of his belt, your core throbbing in anticipation.
His large hands pushed up your dress, pulling your panties to the slide. “You’re lucky we’re in the courtyard, otherwise i’d make you beg and scream for me to fuck you,” Fred purred. You felt his tip brush up and down your folds, a moan escaping your lips. One of Fred’s hands flew to your mouth. “Gotta keep quiet little serpent. Dont want anyone to hear you being a whore for a Weasley, do you?” He taunted. He pushed himself inside of you slowly, your body feeling like it may split in two.
“You’re fuckin soaked for me,” Fred mused, placing a sloppy kiss against your shoulder. Your moans were muffled by his hand, your walls struggling to accommodate his size. “I’m bigger than Malfoy aren’t I?” He asked teasingly as he bottomed out inside of you. You grabbed onto his wrist, yanking it away from your mouth. “In your dreams Weasley,” You spat, whimpering as he bucked his hips ever so slightly. Fred began to suck at the side of your neck, harsh enough to leave a hickey. “Dont leave marks on me,” You argued, moaning as he began to thrust into you. Fred released your neck with a pop, satisfied as the skin began to turn purple.
“Whys that? Afraid your boy toys will find out you’ve let me in between your legs?” Fred asked, beginning to pick up the pace. His pace was brutal, his hand flying back over your mouth to muffle your sinful noises. “When they ask tell them. Tell them how I ruined you. How a Gryffindor made you cum in a courtyard like a dog in heat,” Fred huffed. He continued to viciously snap his hips into yours, his cock abusing your g spot with each thrust. You moaned his name into his hand, gripping one of his wrist and the tree for support.
“You’re so fucking tight, so perfect,” Fred groaned into your neck, his breath hot against your skin. He removed his hand from your mouth, his hands taking their rightful place on your hips. “I’m going to make you cum on my cock. You understand me? You’re going make a mess for me,” Fred ordered. His orders were hypnotizing, your legs beginning to shake as he held onto the fabric of your dress. You could feel the knot inside of you tighten, a familiar feeling coming.
“Please make me cum Freddie, fucking please,” You pleaded, your orgasm coming faster than you’d like to admit. Fred chuckled, fucking you mercilessly against the tree. “There she is, there’s my sweet whore. Go on, cum for me,” He panted. You squeezed his wrist tightly as you came, euphoria washing over you as you came on his shaft. Your legs trembled, threatening to give out on you at any moment. You felt Fred’s hips stutter, the ginger pulling out of you.
He guided you onto the ground, your bare knees hitting the dirt below. You stuck out your tongue, allowing Fred to cum inside of your mouth. “Holy shit,” Fred moaned, watching as you swallowed every last top. You both sat there for a moment, your highs subsiding as you soaked in what you had just done.
“Hey y/n?”
“Yeah?”
“You wanna grab a butterbeer sometime?”
“Shut up Weasley.”

a/n: I had another wip but I have no clue where I'm going with it so I started this one. Since someone commented the other day, I had to write another scenario specifically for this. I wrote something kinda touching this subject on my other blog but this one is exploring it better. Heed warnings, potentially triggering. Unedited. ;; wc: 4.3k

So many things to tackle with him.
You had done the hardest so far. That was good.
He was still wary around you. He avoided you.
He stayed locked in the bedroom you spared, hiding like a frightened animal. You hadn't seen him in a few days, the only evidence of his presence were the slightly eaten down bowls of broth and mashed potatoes you left for him. The untouched portions of these meals showed you just how fragile he still was, barely sustaining himself on the meager amounts he managed to consume.
His self-imposed isolation spoke volumes about the depth of his trauma, leaving you to wonder about the extent of his emotional wounds and the long road to recovery that lay ahead. You had never been a caregiver before, hell taking care of yourself proved to be hard sometimes. But now you had a responsibility for someone else, someone who really needs it.
Luckily, he had taken the opportunity to at least go to the bathroom without any sense of apprehension or unease. You often heard the shower running and he spent close to an hour in the shower at a time. You never went in to question him or why it took him so long to shower. Sometimes he'd let you wash him off, he did when he first arrived.
But for now, he liked having privacy, and you didn't blame him for wanting it.
You had been sitting on the couch and his shower had exceeded well over an hour, which was odd. Normally he only clocked close to an hour, just below sixty minutes. But he had been in the bathroom for much longer, and the shower had been running the entire time. You could spot steam peeking out from the cracks in the closed door, rising to the ceiling and fogging your apartment lightly.
Today, the shower had been running for an unusually long time, prompting you to check on him. Given his delicate health condition, you couldn't afford to be anything but vigilant. With a slight sense of concern, you gently pushed aside the warm, fuzzy blanket that had been draped over your legs. Rising from the comfortable embrace of the couch, you stretched your limbs briefly before padding across the room towards the bathroom door. The sound of running water grew louder as you approached, but there were no other noises coming from inside.
Reaching the door, you hesitated for a moment before raising your hand. You gently rapped your knuckles against the smooth surface of the door, being careful not to make too loud a sound. The last thing you wanted was to startle him in his potentially vulnerable state. "Soldat?" you called out softly, your voice barely audible over the steady stream of water, "Are you okay in there? It's perfectly fine if you're still showering, I just wanted to make sure you're doing alright. Is everything okay?"
Silence greeted you, save for the continuous patter of water against tile. The lack of response sent a small shiver of worry down your spine.
"Soldat?" you tried again, your voice a touch louder this time, tinged with growing concern. "Can I come in? Just to check on you?" You pressed your ear against the door, straining to hear any sound of movement or acknowledgment. Several long seconds ticked by, each one amplifying your unease. Still, there was no reply, not even the slightest indication that he had heard you. The silence stretched on, broken only by the relentless sound of running water, leaving you to grapple with mounting worry and indecision.
After a moment of hesitation, you decided to confront the situation head-on, pushing aside any thoughts of future repercussions. You reached out and gently grasped the cold metal of the door handle. Taking a deep breath to steel yourself, you slowly turned the knob and eased the door open, the hinges creaking softly.
As the bathroom came into view, your eyes were immediately drawn to him, huddled in the corner of the shower. His form was hunched over, back pressed firmly against the tiled walls as if trying to disappear into them. The shower was running over him but instead of clear water, a steady stream of crimson flowed beneath him, swirling ominously before disappearing down the drain.
Your gaze was inevitably drawn to his right hand, it was covered in blood, fresh and glistening under the harsh bathroom lights. His nails were ragged and torn, thick chunks of flesh clung to them, the aftermath to the frenzied self-mutilation he had inflicted upon himself. The raw, exposed skin underneath looked so painful, the pieces of skin that he clearly had torn and tried to rip away from himself clear as day.
Your eyes slowly traced the contours of his body, lingering on the gleaming silver titanium that seamlessly merged with his flesh. The junction between metal and skin was marked by a vicious scar, a sight you had seen before during your previous bathing sessions. However, this time it appeared significantly more severe. The area was angry and inflamed, with fresh blood seeping from the edges, and the surrounding tissue looked far more mutilated than you recalled. The overall damage seemed to have intensified, leaving you with a sense of growing concern.
His eyes, wide and unblinking, were fixed straight ahead, as if seeing something beyond the confines of the room. The vacant stare sent a chill down your spine, he looked so empty and haunted there under the steady shower. His hand trembled visibly, betraying the depth of his distress very clearly, as if his wounds weren’t enough to go off of. Words couldn’t compare to this sight alone.
"Soldat..." You whispered, your voice barely audible as you gently closed the door behind you, careful not to startle him. The soft click of the latch seemed to echo in the tense silence of the room, the shower had been muffled by now, your brain zoning the sound out in hopes he would speak. "What's going on, hm?" You asked carefully, your tone was slightly apprehensive, your approach had to be very careful. You remained rooted to the spot, instinctively knowing that approaching him too quickly might escalate the situation. Instead, you stayed put, your body language open and non-threatening. "Did you do that?"
He remained motionless, unresponsive to his surroundings, as if frozen in place. Despite the scalding temperature of the water cascading over him, he shivered uncontrollably, as if he were trapped in a blizzard. The relentless stream of hot water had turned his skin an angry, vivid red, resembling a freshly boiled lobster wherever it made contact. You slowly stepped closer, speaking up again. "Did you do that to your arm?" You repeated.
Soldat finally stirred, his trembling hand slowly reaching up to his bleeding shoulder. His nails dug deeply into the scar tissue as his gaze fixed upon the metallic surface of his prosthetic limb. Unbeknownst to you, his mind was awash with vivid, haunting memories of endless saws mercilessly cutting into his flesh. The loss of his arm hadn't been a clean, swift amputation. No, it had been a gradual, excruciating process that began around his elbow.
In the sterile confines of the laboratory, they had methodically removed the rest, piece by agonizing piece. Throughout the entire ordeal, Soldat remained horrifyingly conscious, forced to endure every moment as they systematically dismembered him, carving away at his body with the cold precision of butchers preparing a carcass.
The gruesome experience marked the beginning of his torment at the hands of HYDRA. It was merely the opening act in a long, nightmarish performance that would span decades. As hellish as this initial ordeal was, it paled in comparison to the tortures that would follow. The amputation of his arm, as brutal and inhumane as it had been, would come to be seen as almost merciful when juxtaposed against the relentless cruelty he would endure in the years to come.
The memory of the cold metal was seared into his consciousness. He could still vividly recall the sensation of the frigid prosthetic fused to his body, an unnatural extension of himself that felt more like an invasive parasite than a replacement limb. The cold was so intense it transcended mere discomfort, burning his flesh with its icy touch. In his desperation to be free of this foreign appendage, he had made numerous attempts to tear it from his body, clawing at the juncture where flesh met metal until his fingers were raw and bleeding.
HYDRA's response to these acts of defiance was characteristically brutal.
They forcibly removed his fingernails, not out of concern for his well-being, but to protect their valuable asset. In their eyes, Soldat was no longer a person, no longer human. He had been reduced to a mere object, a weapon to be wielded at their discretion, stripped of his humanity and autonomy.
They did this frequently, until he stopped clawing at himself.
He had nails now, and they served as desperate tools in his frantic attempt to extricate the metal embedded within his flesh. His prosthetic limb was a source of intense loathing; he yearned to be rid of it, to cast it off entirely. The sensations it produced were a maddening contradiction; simultaneously frigid and scorching, each moment bringing fresh waves of agony. The pain was all-encompassing, radiating from every point where flesh met metal, leaving him bewildered by its relentless intensity. Where was this torment originating from? How could this damn appendage cause such overwhelming suffering-
"Soldat, you're hurting yourself," you intervened, your voice cutting through the fog of his anguish and halting his downward spiral into self-destruction. Slowly, as if emerging from a trance, he lifted his gaze to meet yours. His fingers had burrowed beneath his skin like eager maggots, exposing the cold gleam of metal that had been forcibly inserted beneath layers of tissue and muscle. You reached out slowly, doing your best to avoid startling him. Carefully, you grasped his hand, applying just enough pressure to halt its destructive path, and gradually eased it away from his bloodied shoulder.
"There we go...oh, Soldat, look at you..." You whispered gently, watching the scalding water sear down on his wound, washing dark garnet into a watery pastel.
He whimpered softly in response, his body trembling with fear as he anticipated your reaction. You had caught him in the act, and he had been surreptitiously harming himself for some time now. His timid, apprehensive eyes slowly lifted to meet yours, filled with a mixture of dread and resignation. He fully expected you to unleash a torrent of angry words, to raise your hand against him, or to inflict some form of harsh punishment for the self-inflicted damage to his arm.
But to his surprise and confusion, you did none of those things. Unlike the cruel handlers from his past, you exhibited a gentle demeanor that was entirely foreign to him. Your actions spoke of kindness, a concept he struggled to comprehend.
"Ты не собираешься меня наказать?" He questioned hesitantly, his brow furrowed in a perplexed frown as he addressed you. His voice emerged as a barely audible whisper, weak and raspy from prolonged disuse. It sounded like he had swallowed broken glass, his throat utterly torn apart.
Prior to this moment, he had only uttered three single words on separate occasions: a tentative ‘thank you,’ a fearful ‘no,’ and a hesitant ‘yes.’ You found yourself grateful for your basic understanding of Russian, which allowed you to decipher his simple words, but full sentences would be trickier. He hadn't said a thing in English yet.
"Eh...I'm sorry, I don't understand, Soldat...but...I'm not mad." You reassured gently, your voice barely above a whisper. "Let's get you out of here and cleaned up, okay?" You spoke softly, reaching out with a steady hand towards the shower knob. With a twist, you halted the flow of water, the sudden silence amplifying the sound of his ragged breathing. His body began trembling more noticeably now, the loss of the near-boiling water leaving him exposed to the cooler air. You couldn't help but wince internally at the sight of his scalded skin, angry red compared to the rest of him. However, you forced yourself to push that concern aside for the moment. His bloody scars, still weeping and raw, demanded your immediate attention.
You allowed him to remain seated in the shower for a brief moment, giving him time to adjust. You moved towards the bathroom counter, your eyes scanning the contents of the cabinet as you opened it. Methodically, you began pulling out the necessary first aid supplies, arranging them neatly on the countertop. Your gaze flickered back to him, noting how his trembling had intensified. You carefully approached him once more with a large, soft towel draped over your arms.
“Here, I know you’re cold now.” You draped the towel over his shivering form, taking care to keep his injured shoulder exposed so you could tend to it properly. He flinched as the fabric settled around him, instinctively responding to the unusual action. You maintained your calm demeanor, choosing not to react to the flinching. “I’m going to clean this up a bit, okay? All you have to do is sit still. That’s pretty easy, right?” You tried your best to sound comforting, knowing his nerves were through the roof and he was especially fragile.
His shoulder was a gruesome sight, coated in a deep crimson layer of blood with ragged pieces of flesh hanging precariously from where he had been violently digging. You couldn't help but let out a soft, empathetic sigh as you reached for a substantial handful of sterile gauze. Kneeling beside him with careful movements, you noticed how he deliberately avoided your gaze, his eyes fixed intently on the intricate patterns of the tile floor beneath you both.
With precision, you reached up and began to gently dab at the blood-soaked area, allowing the pristine white gauze to gradually absorb the viscous red liquid, allowing the injury to become more visible to you to assess the proper kind of treatment.
The self-inflicted damage from his frantic clawing was even worse than you had initially feared. Deep, angry tears marred his shoulder, the surrounding scar tissue visibly swollen and undoubtedly hypersensitive to the touch. Despite the pain he must have been experiencing, Soldat remained remarkably still for you, permitting you to continue your ministrations as you meticulously dabbed away the excess blood.
Your heart ached at the sight, and you found yourself whispering softly, your voice barely audible in the quiet room, "Oh, Soldat…look at what you've done to yourself." Your tone was filled with compassion rather than judgment as you continued, "You must be in so much pain to have resorted to this. I wish I could take it all away."
He didn't reply, which was expected given his current state. He simply allowed you to continue dabbing at his wounds until the majority of the bleeding had subsided. The condition of his skin was a bit alarming, and you found yourself hesitating, unsure of how to properly treat such severe injuries. Your medical knowledge was limited, lacking the expertise required for advanced treatments such as suturing.
But, upon closer inspection, you felt a wave of relief wash over you as you realized the wounds, while serious, weren't as bad as you had initially feared. Not bad enough for stitches at least. A few carefully applied butterfly bandages and snug gauze wrapping would be sufficient to promote healing. Besides, you hoped his enhanced healing might help aid on this too.
"I'm going to start wrapping you up now, okay? I'll also need to apply some bandages over certain areas to help keep the skin together. You're being so brave and cooperative," you said, your words of encouragement causing his eyes to lift slightly, meeting yours. The subtle shift in his demeanor made your heart rate quicken, a warmth spreading through your chest as you sensed him beginning to trust you. "I need you to remain as still as possible while I do this. Can you manage that for me?"
After a moment of consideration, he responded with a soft, barely audible, "...да." The Russian affirmation, though brief, conveyed his understanding and compliance.
You offered him a warm, reassuring smile as you began the delicate process of tending to his wounds. You carefully cleaned each injury using soft cotton balls soaked in a mild antiseptic solution. You winced slightly as you dabbed the open wounds but he hadn’t flinched at all, despite knowing the antiseptic stung. Once the cleaning was complete, you applied bandages to the areas where his skin had been broken, taking extra care to position them for optimal healing. For the scar itself, you had a handful of things. First laying down a layer of soft, cushioning gauze to help with any bleeding that might occur, you then wrapped it with an adherent bandage to keep everything in place.
Throughout the entire process, he observed you intently, his gaze alternating between your focused expression and the various medical supplies you used. His eyes searched quickly for anything sharp, but he didn’t see anything like that. This experience was entirely new to him; never before had he been allowed to witness the ministrations performed on him.
The HYDRA scientists had preferred to keep him in the dark, relishing his startled reactions to unexpected pain or discomfort. It was so different to your approach. They liked watching him struggle against the bindings he was kept in, then used it as an excuse to hurt him more, as if his very valid reaction to being cut open with a scalpel or stabbed with a needle was unwarranted. But nothing you did hurt. You were so careful, like you were afraid to hurt him.
"There...all done." You hummed gently, a soft smile playing on your lips as you looked up to him once the bandages were securely fastened in place. Your eyes scanned over your handiwork, ensuring everything was just right. "Now, I want you to take it easy, okay? Don't push yourself too hard. But if it happens to come undone or feels uncomfortable, just let me know. I can always redo it for you." You reassured him, your voice warm and caring. Taking a small step back, you gave him some space, understanding that he might need a moment to adjust to the new sensation of the bandages.
Soldat, still silent, gripped the towel tighter and wrapped the damp fabric around himself, creating a cocoon of sorts. The quiet that enveloped the room was almost tangible, broken only by the soft dripping of water. You watched him carefully, noting how he seemed to be taking inventory of his newly bandaged body. In your mind, you surmised that he probably needed a few seconds to get accustomed to the feeling of the bandages against his skin, perhaps even testing their flexibility as he moved.
After what felt like an eternity but was likely only a minute or two, Soldat made a move to stand. His legs were a bit unsteady, trembling slightly under his weight as he rose. He took cautious steps out of the shower, leaving behind a trail of water droplets. He came to a stop directly in front of you, close enough that you could feel the residual warmth from his shower-heated skin. His still-wet hair continued to release tiny rivulets of water, the droplets trailing down his face and neck before disappearing into the towel.
Your eyes were drawn to his, those steel blue irises that always seemed to hold so much depth. As you gazed into them, trying to decipher his thoughts, you realized that while they were as inscrutable as ever, there was something there. A look, a silent request perhaps. He seemed to be seeking something more from you, though you couldn't quite pinpoint what it was.
"Alright, let's get you properly dried off," you whispered, your voice barely above a breath. Your hands moved of their own accord, grasping the edges of the towel he held. "And then... well, I think we should get you settled comfortably in the living room. How does that sound?" As you spoke, you began to gently pat him dry, your movements careful and considerate, especially around the newly bandaged areas. The act felt intimate, you had done it before, but it felt different this time.
He was carefully dried off and dressed in clean, comfortable clothes before being gently guided to the living room. You led him to the spot where you had been sitting earlier, allowing him to sink into the warm impression left by your body. As you draped your thick, cozy blanket over his legs, he instinctively pulled it up higher, cocooning himself in its comforting weight. His tense muscles began to relax as he nestled deeper into the soft folds, finding a small measure of solace in the simple act of being warm and protected.
You settled yourself beside him, your eyes drawn to the bandages adorning his shoulder. You broached the subject that had been weighing on your mind, wondering about his habits, "Do you do that a lot, Soldat?" The question hung in the air, your tone carefully modulated to convey genuine concern rather than accusation or judgment.
For what felt like an eternity, he remained silent, his eyes fixed on some distant point. Just as you began to think he wouldn't respond at all, he gave an almost imperceptible nod.
"Да." The single word, spoken so softly you almost missed it, carried the weight of countless untold stories.
"Why?" you pressed gently, hoping to coax him into opening up, to share even a fragment of the burden he carried. You yearned to understand, to offer whatever comfort or support you could. Your underground research on HYDRA had come up short, you hadn’t discovered much yet, and many of the released files the Black Widow had released were heavily encrypted. But as quickly as that tiny crack in his armor had appeared, it vanished. His lips pressed into a thin, unyielding line, and the brief, guarded glance he cast in your direction spoke louder than words.
Without uttering another word, he had made it abundantly clear that this line of inquiry would go no further. The wall between you, momentarily weakened, had been fortified once more.
"I understand... you don't want to talk about it right now. That's perfectly okay," you reassured gently, your voice filled with compassion. "I want you to know that if you ever feel the urge to hurt yourself again, you can come to me. I'm here for you, and I'll do everything in my power to help you through it." You offered this support sincerely, hoping that your words would resonate with him and provide some comfort. Your intention was to show him that there were alternative ways to cope with his pain, rather than resorting to self-harm. You wanted to be a source of safety and understanding he could turn to.
He remained silent, but you could see that your words were having an impact. His eyes, previously averted, briefly met yours, conveying a mix of vulnerability and gratitude. Then, he slowly shifted his position on the couch. He leaned closer to you, gradually lowering his head until it rested lightly on your leg. He was using your thigh as a makeshift pillow, a huge sign of the trust he was placing in you. It was an incredibly significant step forward in your relationship, a wordless acknowledgment of the connection between you.
You knew this was a big gesture, how much security he must feel for him to allow himself this closeness. Considering he never allowed himself to lay down around you, this was a big step in the right direction. As he settled, he pulled the blanket higher, adjusting it to cover himself more fully. He was positioned to lay on his uninjured flesh shoulder, seeking relief for the wounded one and to be covered by the blanket for some extra security, you knew he didn’t like feeling exposed.
Your hand, trembling slightly with the weight of the moment, slowly descended towards his damp hair. You were acutely aware of your own nervousness, not wanting to make any misstep that might shatter this fragile trust. This unexpected display of vulnerability had caught you by surprise, and you wanted to handle it carefully. Your fingers gently made contact with his hair, gently running through his chestnut locks in a soothing gesture. Your touch was light and tentative, massaging and lightly scratching at his scalp as he laid there.
Soldat permitted this rare moment of complete vulnerability. He was feeling particularly exposed and fragile, yet he felt secure enough in your presence to lay beside you. To lay on you. The comfort he found in your company was evident as you both settled in to watch television together.
The episode progressed, you noticed a gradual change in Soldat's subtle movements on your thigh. His breathing began to slow and deepen, becoming more rhythmic with each passing minute. Before long, the weight of his body pressed more heavily against you as he drifted off into a peaceful slumber. You looked down to make sure you weren’t just imagining things.
Soldat felt safe enough in your presence to completely let his guard down and fall asleep.
It was a clear indication to the trust he placed in you, a rare and precious gift from someone who typically kept the world at arm's length upon severe conditioning. The simple act of Soldat falling asleep beside you spoke volumes about the growing bond you had, your chest warming and swelling with warmth as you observed his sleeping form.
You couldn't help the smile that spread on your face.

When Life Gives Lemons
tw: female reader, technically non con because of stealthing, baby trapping, breeding, obsessive behavior, reader being a bit rude
You couldn’t believe the irony of your life. You were about to break up with your immature boyfriend, and he still managed to be grossly late to the date, unconsciously digging his own grave deeper. You had put on your best white shirt and the tightest skirt you owned, and you even went through the trouble of booking the latest hipster coffee shop close to the centre. He had been fifteen minutes late, to be exact, and when you brought it up, he simply shrugged a long sleazy smile, dragging his skeleton - shaped metal rings against the edge of the table.
“All in due time, princess.” He took a sip off his coffee - a single shot of espresso with no creamer, as always. “All in due time.” He repeated, reaching in his pocket for a pack of off - brand cigarettes. He really couldn’t afford any of the fancy ones. Once the cigarette was lit, he slowly brought it to his lips and inhaled deeply, letting his head relax against the chair. His thick neck tightened as he swallowed the deadly smoke, and even the sun seemed to avoid his messy dark locks, instead keeping the man in the shadows.
“What does that even mean?” You threw your hands around helplessly, sinking into your chair. “Don’t you want to know?” Axel teased, taking another puff. Although his expression was one of mild amusement, his sharp blue eyes were carefully following your every movement - wondering what will tip you off the most. “You know, you’re so fuckin’ hot when you’re mad, mami.” He smiled in a playful boyish way that once would have made you melt, but now only served as a reminder of his unserious nature.
“Stop playing around. I need to discuss something imp–”
“Shhh, don’t talk, babygirl. I need to show you something.” Axel interrupted, gripping the big guitar closer to his lap. ”I wrote you a song.” His thin fingers grazed the delicate transparent strings, forcing a catchy, although not fully polished melody out of the old thing. He took a deep breath, wetting his lips so the lyrics would come out softer.
My girl knows how to set me
on flames she goes through
the motions of the wind she
is a fireball, a fireball, on fire
“What the fuck, Axy.” You pounded your fists at the table, shaking the glasses and spilling coffee all over the wooden surface. You could feel everyone’s judging stare across your back, all of the other patrons were jeering and whispering about the two of you, and your cheeks were heating up by the moment. “I’ve told you countless times to stop writing those shitty songs. They don’t even rhyme, for fuck sake.” You whined, suddenly overwhelmed by helplessness. He was never going to change, was he? “This is exactly why I want to break up.”
The music stopped entirely. His dark sunglasses ended on the ground.
“You wanna break up?” The musician repeated slowly, suddenly appearing awfully composed - so composed it made you look crazy. After that question he remained silent for a very long time, taking long drags off his cigarette while studying your face for any sign of your true feelings bleeding out. “Real’ funny, babe, real’ fun joke.” He forced a crooked smile, reaching in to squeeze your hand all the way through the table. “Now tell me, what’s wrong with the song? I stayed real’ late to compose it just for our date today.” He winked, which only made you feel worse.
“I am being serious, Axel. Let go of me.” Your tone turned icy and your ex boyfriend quickly released you, eyes filling with raw fear. “Wait, baby, we can talk about–”
“There is nothing to talk about. You’re such a child!” You blurted out, too frustrated to spare energy on fluttery words and sweet apologies. “I want to do my masters soon. You know I’m applying to Metwyorth - I can’t be seen hanging around with a high school dropout who does Saturday gigs for a living.” You continued, pursing your lips together. You knew you were being harsh, cruel even, but this was the only way to push him away. The musician could be awfully clingy, so you needed to be firm.
“A highschool dropout who made you scream your brains out.” Axel responded bitterly through clenched teeth, eyes growing dark with anger. You shook your head bashfully, avoiding his fiery gaze. “Sure, we had our fun,” You gestured vaguely at nothing in particular, trying to hide the shame blossoming on your sides. “But it’s time to wake up. I mean, be realistic. We live in different worlds.” You began to collect your things quickly, standing up to leave.
“Y/N!” He called out to you, causing you to turn back just for a second - you owed him that much for all the good memories you knew you both would have trouble forgetting. “You’re making a mistake. Please, think it through.” The man took a hold of your hand, caressing your fingers gently. “I know I can’t offer you much right now, but I really love you!” His eyes dilated, honest and clear like an untouched sea on a quiet day.
“Goodbye, Axel.”
***
You meet him sooner that you’d like.
Two weeks later you’re drunk off your mind, dancing the night away with some of your girlfriends when you catch a pair of familiar eyes fluttering across your body from the other side of the room. It makes you feel hot all over - despite what you said back then, you felt each agonising moment of the break up. Even if the logical part of your brain knows you have no future with such a man, your body needs him, craves him.
Axel keeps staring at you intensely, burning holes through your neck, your thighs, your lips. His yearning gaze lingers, completely miserable, and yet as lustful as the night he first wrapped his arms around you and claimed you as his. He can still feel your nails scratching his back red and bloody, sending shivers down his spine and setting fire in his loins. This staring game of yours lasts for approximately thirty minutes before he gives in and comes over to your table. He doesn’t say anything - doesn’t look at you or greet your friends, doesn’t even pretend to have any reason to approach you. He simply grabs you, swallows an airy pant, and drags you inside the bathroom.
You’re all over each other in no time. His hands are tangled in your hair and your nails are sinking into his warm flesh once again. You can’t breathe for a second, suffocated by a deep, longing kiss that he only spares you of once your lips start to turn blue. He licks your neck and bites at any spot vulnerable enough to steal a gasp out of you - and you return it by sucking on his collarbone until a purple hickey adorns his skin. You swiftly unzip his loose pants and start taking your dress off, but as you try to spread your legs, he turns you around facing the wall.
“Fuck, I wanna do you from the back, princess.” Axel mumbles, one strong hand gripping your throat as the other gropes your breasts freely. You nod weakly, too turned on to comprehend any of the words he’s saying. “Ngh, wanna be able to pull your hair n’ shit.” His fist wraps around your ponytail, pulling slightly so you expose your neck to his teeth. You can already feel his throbbing manhood prob at your thighs, slowly moving towards your entrance. “Y-you have a condom on, right?” You manage to whimper through the little electric bursts of pleasure running through your whole body as he plays you like an instrument. He mumbles something like “yeah”, and in this state of mind that’s enough for you.
He starts sinking into your heat slowly, letting you adjust to his hard length inch by inch, then once you’ve settled, practically begging him to just give it to you, he begins thrusting painfully slow - really making you feel it going in and out, in and out in a perfect rhythm. Each time his cock brushes against your most sensitive spot, you’re reduced to a slick, desperate mess, but just as your thighs begin to go numb and you slip down, Axel catches both of your wrists and pins them to the wall, keeping you in place. You’re so wet you can hear the slap of skin on skin every time your gummy walls hug his member, but you’re too far gone to care about the nasty sound.
“F-fuck, baby, you’d be so fucking hot as a mother. Have you ever thought about it?” Your ex whispers against you, picking up the pace. You shake your head - kids have never been your priority, since you’re still so young and your education would always come first. “I thought about it. A lot, ‘n fact, when we were separated.” His heartbeat fastens. “Ugh, you’re still so tight, god…” His free hand dances at your hips, ogling and caressing any curve it can find. “When you dumped me, I was completely lost, ya know? Didn’t sober up for three days. But then I dreamt that I knocked you up accidentally. S-shit, did you just tighten up?”
Your whole body stiffens at his words. Your stomach fills with unexplainable dread - this whole conversation is turning you off, but somehow your body seems to have a mind of its own.
“Q-quit it with the small talk, asshole.” You groan, pushing back so you’d get more friction between your legs. “Just fuck me, okay? I don’t need to hear your weird fantasies.” You hear yourself saying confidently despite the provocative position you’re currently stuck in - you can’t even see his face, but you know he’s probably laughing at your bossy comment. But instead he keeps blabbering on as if you’re not even there. “You were so beautiful, princess. So big and–” He bites his lower lip. “So fucking needy for me - just like now. You were dripping everywhere. You were so excited for our little baby.” He grunted hoarsely, reaching in to stroke your clit - and despite your best efforts, you let out a soft moan.
“And we were a family - just you, n-ngh, me and the little guy.” Axel utters through clenched teeth, trying to hold out for as long as possible - savouring you in tiny little bites. “No stupid degrees or anythin’, just us two against the world.” He slows down further, now barely moving inside of you. It’s driving you crazy with anticipation - both his story and the way he’s fucking you. “And it made me think, we could really have all that - if it wasn’t for your stupid pride. All I need to do is knock you up. Just think about it.” The man grips your hips roughly, impaling you on his thickness.
“Your tits will swell, your thighs will thicken; you’ll be so tired you’ll have to lay down all the time. You won’t even be able to touch yourself because of your belly.” He smiles at you gently, although you can’t see it. At this point you’re already so close to climax you can’t break through the cotton cloud haze that’s taken over your mind to truly focus. This is one of the reasons you had to break up with the musician - he could get you cockdrunk with a simple touch, and that vulnerability felt terrifying.
“And I will take care of you through every-” He kisses your cheek. “single–” He kisses you again. “step of the way.” He inhales deeply, thrusting in one final time before he spills inside you. “I love you, baby. I really can’t let you go.”

“Your Majesty, is it really… um, necessary for…”
“For what?” You raised an eyebrow as your Dragon Boyfriend loomed from behind you.
His neck was craned around the throne you sat on, head hovering just off the stone slab floor.
The man who’d come to see you, trembled as he spoke his next words. “I… appreciate all the good that he’s done as guard of the Kingdom, but… does he have to be within your presence all the time?”
A puff of smoke escaped the dragons nostrils. “Due to the recent attack on the Harbor,” you replied. “He does. This is as much for your safety as it is mine. He’ll get pouty otherwise.” You smirked as you looked around at the beast beside you.
“’Pouty’?” Your Dragon whipped around to face you, narrowing his eyes at your words. “I do not get ‘pouty’.”
To avoid this becoming a playful back and forth, you turned away from him and gestured for the man to continue, “he’s of no danger to you so long as you’re not trying to do me harm.”
The man swallowed hard. He went on with his request, while the dragon by your side held the man in contemptive gaze.
“My family isn’t sure that we’ll be able to make the next tax payment this month. My wife is due to have another baby in the coming weeks so we really can’t afford to pay the amount of tax demanded… a lot of other families can’t either.” The mans eyes darted to the Dragon.
The Dragon beside you sharply exhaled and turned his head away in disinterest.
“So… would you consider lowering the tax? Even if it was just by a few coins, we would be really appreciative.” The man looked back at you, his hat squeezed tightly together in his hands.
Even from your place on the throne, you could see his knuckles turn white from the strength of his grip.
You gave a side glance to your Dragon, who was now looking back at you.
You knew how much he loved gold, precious things that Humans and Dragons alike valued beyond compare. He loved watching the taxes being hauled in by the knights into the vaults, proud like he was the one who had brought them in himself.
It would be a wound to his ego if you let the tax price drop, especially after everything he did to defend the docks of the attack. In the eyes of the Dragon, he more than deserved that money.
Of course, there were concerns outside of your Dragon partner too.
The docks were still in the process of being rebuilt, and they weren’t even half way done yet. The crown needed every last coin it could get their hands on. With no docks, there’s no accepting merchants who will come in from abroad and trade, no way that returning sailors can come home and see their families.
So, it looked like lowering the tax was a no go… But, that didn’t mean to say that you couldn’t do something different to help the families struggling.
“I sympathise with your plight,” you began. “I know it’s been hard on everyone since the attack on the docks, and given that you’re expecting, here’s what I’ll do:”
The man stood up straighter, twisting his hat in his hands.
“I can’t lower the tax price, but I can do what I can to ensure that you have what you need for the birth of your child, and will do what I can to help any other families who are having trouble making ends meet, while paying the tax.” You stood from the throne and beckoned over a knight. “I’ll arrange for there to be a few free care packages to be sent out. This Knight here will take you to my secretary, you just tell her what you need and what other things your fellows need and then distribute them out evenly, alright?”
The man’s jaw dropped. “W-What? Free? You really mean it, your Majesty?”
“Well, it’s only fair. It’s not like your family planned this for the same time of the attack, is it?” You joked, smiling at the man.
A grin spread across his face and he rushed up to you. “Thank you so much, your Majesty, really thank you so much!”
And before the Knight could get between you and the man, he’d enveloped you in a hug.
“Hey!”
The ground trembled, and a shudder went through your chest.
The Knight finally got between you and the man and pushed him away. “Back away, now.”
As the man backed away from you, his eyes were focused behind you, the old fear back in his eyes.
You looked over your shoulder and found your Dragon, towering over everyone in the throne room, glowering down at the man.
“You don’t get to touch what is above you,” he snarled.
“Hey!” You rounded on the Dragon.
He looked down at you, and sunk at your warning look. He grumbled something inaudible as he settled back down and turned his head to look out of the stained glass window.
You turned your attention back to the Knight, “I’m awfully sorry about that, please don’t feel-”
But the mans face was as white as a sheet, his eyes had glazed over. It was clear there wasn’t a single word he was going to hear from you. Not after that scare.
You let out a sad sigh and gestured to the Knight who still stood beside you, “please escort the gentleman to my doctor and get him some water. When he’s feeling better, please offer him some coin for the fright and take him to my secretary for the care packages.”
The Knight nodded and grabbed the shellshocked man by the upper arm. “Come, now.”
Without much resistance, the man allowed himself to be dragged out of the throne room. Once the doors were closed, you rounded on the dragon.
“You can’t just do that to my subjects.” You scathed. “He was just grateful for the help I was giving him.”
“Peasants should know their place.” The Dragon huffed. “He should have known better than to try and touch you.”
Rolling your eyes, you jabbed a finger at him. “That’s besides the point. You can’t just threaten people like that.”
The pair of you glared at each other.
Your Dragon then sighed. “One of my main jobs here, is to protect you. It’s only natural that I do what others couldn’t.” His amber eyes darted to the remaining knights in the throne room.
There was a clink of their armour as your Dragon suggested. “Maybe you should replace them all.”
“It’s not a matter of them being able to do their jobs,” you returned, “it’s of you controlling yourself. If word gets out that you are intimidating people, it makes the crown and by default you look bad.”
“Then maybe your subjects should remember their place.” He leaned down closer to you, “or perhaps it should be you who does.”
Realising that he was just trying to get under your skin, you replied, “you’re being completely unreasonable. Until you’ve calmed down, you can’t be with me here.”
The Dragon balked. “You can’t be serious! One of the main reasons you keep me here, is to add another layer of protection and now you’re sending me away?”
“Yes!” You pointed to the windows behind your throne. “Go, now!”
At your command, several Knights stepped forward and unlocked the large windows from behind you and pulled them open, providing an easy exit for the Dragon to leave through.
You and the Dragon glared at each other again, before he scoffed and turned. Scaled tail swishing angrily, he spread his wings and took off into the sky.
You watched as he circled the surrounding city, before flying over the Palace and out of sight.
Sucking in a deep breath, you rubbed your forehead and took your place on the throne once again. “Who’s here to see me next?”
And the rest of the morning went on like nothing had happened. It was hard to push an argument like that to the back of your mind when you had to see citizens of your nation, but you did the best you could.
Ever since the attack on the docks, security had been tense, you were aware of that. But there was no need to frighten citizens who were in desperate need of help. You weren’t just about to become a ruler who ignores the need of her people just because of one silly attack.
To the outside world, everyone had to know that you were unfazed by it, which is why you opened your Palace to talk to the people.
By the evening, you were just about ready to collapse. The people all had the same kind of problems, money was difficult, people couldn’t afford basic house hold amenities and the tax.
It looked like you were going to have to offer free nationwide aide to the people at this point. There wasn’t anything else you could think of doing. On the upside, it would be good publicity for the crown and the peoples approval rating would go up.
As you laid in your bed, you stared up at the canopy above your bed. The silky fabric hanging above your head rustled in the wind of the window open behind you.
It was put in after your Dragon had vowed to protect the Palace vaults, and after you two started seeing each other. It was big enough for his whole body to fit through, and your room was easily twice the size it needed to be, so he had no trouble sleeping in the same room as you.
The room felt strangely empty without him in there with you. Normally, he’d have curled up around your bed in the centre of the room, forming a scaled barrier between you and the rest of the world. Protecting you from unseen threats.
Another gust of wind sent a shiver down your spine. Pulling the sheets over your shoulders, you wondered where your Dragon Boyfriend had got to.
He can’t really be that angry with you, could he?
Dragons are proud creatures, there’s no doubt about that. But… had you really offend him so much?
Normally, when he was in a mood, he would have come back to the Palace by lunch and talked through with you what was going on. But there was no sign of him.
You’d sent the guards to go and check where else he could be, and apart from that, there was nothing else you could do.
Before the thoughts could consume you, the sound of claws scraping against stone greeted your ears, and your bedroom shook.
You pushed yourself up from your bed, turning to face the window.
The Dragon had come back. Lowering his head to fit inside your room, he greeted you stiffly. “Hello.”
You sat up straight as he folded his wings and settled behind your bed. Thanks to his massive body, it made it difficult for him to formally address you. So, he bowed his head.
“I wanted to apologise for my behaviour earlier today.” He said, eyes trained on your carpeted floor. “As you are Queen, it was wrong of me to question your judgement. But, I must say this:” His head rose to meet your gaze.
“You are the only treasure I truly care about. The vaults and everything else that is valuable in this Palace, mean absolutely nothing to me. That man could have been hiding anything, a knife, some kind of airborne poison. All he would have needed to do, was get close to enough to you and then that would be it.” The Dragon pushed his head through your canopy curtains as you placed a hand on his snout. “I should have explained this earlier, and for that, I am sorry.”
Truth be told, you weren’t even thinking of something like that. Looking back, that was a completely legitimate worry.“… All I was worried about was my people.” You voiced your thoughts to him, “it hadn’t crossed my mind that enemies would even try and do something like that to me.”
The Dragon let out a snort. “You are too forgiving of the other humans in this world. They are always scheming, looking for ways to further their own agendas. Which is why you must be more careful.” He leaned away from your touch. “Promise me you won’t allow something like that to happen again? For your own safety?”
“I promise. I’m sorry I didn’t consider that earlier.” You admitted. “Thank you, for looking out for my safety.”
He let another puff of air escape his nostrils. “Someone has to, it’s not like those guards were doing anything to protect you.”
You let out an exasperated sigh, pulling the covers back over your body. “We’ll talk about that tomorrow…” Pursing your lips, you laid in bed. “… Please don’t be gone for that long again. You really worried me for a minute.”
“I didn’t mean to go for so long. I just wanted to make sure I had a clear head.” The Dragon replied as his tail curled around the end of your bed. “I could not willingly leave your side even if you commanded me to go and never come back. I’d find a way to hide in the vaults or watch over the Palace from afar.”
You chuckled at that, drifting off into a soundless sleep, happy that your Dragon was safe.

“...Joel?!” you shout, your leisurely walking pace quickly turning into a hurried jog as you leave Tommy behind, making a beeline toward the man you would swear on your life is Joel Miller. A small handful of years ago now, he was kind of your boyfriend, kind of not, kind of something else more complicated and unlabeled, because who can afford to put a label on anything in times like these?
Joel’s head turns in your direction at the sound of his name, and as soon as you spot that crooked scar across the bridge of his nose, you’re certain it’s him.
“Holy shit, I can’t believe it,” you half-cry, throwing your weight into him as you wrap him in a tight embrace. He’s much taller than you, but you still managed to knock him off his balance a little. He envelops your whole body in one of his signature, all-encompassing hugs, and it’s like no time has passed at all.
The two of you had ended whatever it was you had on good terms, no hard feelings or animosity shared between you. It was just hard to maintain any kind of relationship in a world like this, and trying to nurture romance in the Boston QZ was much like trying to grow a rose garden in toxic, radioactive soil. You can put as much care and effort and something like love into it as you have in you, but the circumstances will just never allow it to reach its full potential. The end of your “relationship” was mutual, but that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt. Especially when he had disappeared one day without so much as saying goodbye.
When you had stumbled upon Tommy and a group of patrollers in the snowy forest outside Jackson just earlier today, you were alone, tired, and losing hope that this rumored safe haven even existed at all. You had heard crackles through the radio in the QZ about the community, and even though it sounded too good to be true, what else did you have to lose anymore? After months of travel and survival and pain and hunger, you’d never been so happy to meet a bunch of strangers in the woods in your whole life. You didn’t hesitate to get on the back of Tommy’s horse, and let him lead you to the sanctuary they spoke of.
As he was giving you a tour, proudly showing off their electricity, running water, fresh food, and clean houses, you had started to look forward to what the future may bring, for the first time in a long time. You could never have imagined you’d ever run into Joel again, that this is where he had ended up, of all places. And now here the both of you are, bodies pressed as tightly together as possible, breathing in each other’s familiar scents and never wanting to let go again.
Joel is the first to break the embrace, grasping your head in his large hands and frantically searching your face for any sign that he could be dreaming, that fate hasn’t really brought you back together again after all.
“Jesus Christ, it’s really you,” he breathes, and you swear his voice breaks just a little bit as he presses his lips to your forehead, closing his eyes as he does.
When he blinks them open again, he meets Tommy’s gaze, who’s standing quietly a few yards back from where you’re having your sentimental reunion. Tommy gives an understanding nod, and gestures that he’ll be waiting inside the community’s dining hall, gathering that whatever this is happening between his brother and some girl he only just met, he shouldn’t interrupt. Joel is grateful for many things today, one of them being the rekindled bond he has with Tommy, the other being how you somehow miraculously found your way back to him.
Small groups of other Jackson residents follow Tommy into the dining hall shortly afterward, and as the sun begins to set behind the mountains, Joel realizes it must be about time for dinner to be served.
He detaches his lips from your forehead, brushing some of your hair away from your face as he takes you in again. “You poor thing, must be starvin’ I bet,” he wonders aloud, giving you a sympathetic look.
“Kinda always am, just as a rule, but yeah,” you reply, trying to make light of your situation. Though, Joel doesn’t seem to find the humor in it the way you do.
“Long as you stay here, ain’t ever gotta worry about that again, that’s for damn sure.” He runs his tongue across his lips as he finishes his sentence, already knowing that whatever meal they’re serving tonight, it’ll be some of the most delicious food he’s had in a long time. He suspects you’ll feel much the same. “C’mon, let’s get you inside. Get you warm and fed for once in your life.”
Your heart, your stomach, your soul, all feel full as you relax into the comfortable couch in the living room of Joel’s cozy home. He wouldn’t even entertain the idea of you staying in an empty house all by yourself tonight, insisting that if you’d like some company while you settle in, you were more than welcome to his. He had let you spend as long as you wanted to in his shower, and he didn’t mind if there was hardly any warm water left by the time you were done. He sure as hell wasn’t paying the bill, and you deserved to feel truly clean. He can remember clear as day how he felt after his first Jackson shower, like he had stripped off a layer of grime he hadn’t been able to scrub all the way clean in twenty years. He had gone to Maria to get you some clothes and underwear while you were bathing, and set them silently on the sink counter for you to put on whenever you were done.
And now here you sit, feeling full and clean and satisfied and comfortable and safe, watching Joel stoke the logs in his fireplace as it casts the whole room in a honey orange glow. You take a moment to admire him while he isn’t looking, and even in the dim and flickering lighting, you can see he’s just as handsome as he was the last time you saw him. He looks older, with more gray in his longer hair and meat on his bones, the latter trait likely due to years worth of the hearty cooking you both indulged in tonight. He looks… good like this.
“It really is nice to see you again, you know. You look…” you start, not being able to help the way your eyes wander to his soft lower belly, the way it pushes taut against his tucked-in flannel shirt and just barely spills over the edge of his jeans.
He turns his head away from the fire to face you. You’re not very subtle in your staring, and he knows what you’re referring to right away. He huffs a light chuckle, trying to brush off the way he thinks you’re poking fun at him.
“I know, I know,” he acknowledges, placing a hand on his stomach. “Been tryin’ to get Maria to give me some more patrol shifts, see if I can get some of the weight off. But hey, you try havin’ three square meals a day for the first time in twenty some odd years, see what it does to you, huh?” He pivots his attention back to the fireplace, and he seems to turn his body further away from you on purpose, so that you can’t see the round profile of his tummy as much.
“No! No, it, um… It suits you. I was gonna say you look good, actually.” You’re quick in your reply, trying to make it clear that you didn’t mean to offend him, without letting too much on.
He scoffs. “C’mon, you don’t gotta flatter me, sweetheart. I know I don’t exactly look the way you remember–”
“Joel, will you stop?” you interrupt, your voice laced with exasperation. “I’m being serious. Do I look like I’m making fun of you?”
He cranes his neck to look back at where you’re perched on the couch, and gives you a once over. “Guess not… Look a lil’ like somethin’ else, though, if I'm bein’ honest,” he says with a teasing smirk. And there he is again, the same quick-witted Joel you remember from back in the QZ.
You choose to engage in his banter, just to see where he’s going with it. “Oh yeah? And what’s that?”
He shrugs, beginning to mindlessly poke at the firewood again. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you look like you might like it.”
He’s just kidding around with you, trying to rile you up, you’re sure. But when he gets silence in return instead of the sound of you jumping to defend yourself with another playful jab, he turns to face you once more, and is met with your stunned expression.
“Oh…” Joel looks down at himself, then back to you again, just in time to catch your eyes flitting from his middle back up to his face. “What, you like ‘em big, sweetheart? ‘S that it?”
The truth is, you do, you always have. It was never a requirement, of course, as the guys you’d been with before Joel all had varying body types. But you’d be lying to yourself if you said that your eyes didn’t linger just a bit longer on guys with a little more to them, with wider arms and thicker legs and a softer middle. You’ve never admitted your preference to anyone before, and Joel calling you out on it now has your face running hot, skin feeling prickly as he sees through you like you’re made of glass.
“I-I don’t– I mean, I do, kinda, but not like that… Well, it is like that, I just mean–” You stumble over yourself, fearing you’ve revealed too much, wishing you could rewind the conversation and just tell him it was nice to see him again, plain and simple.
Joel lays the fire poker down on the granite ledge of the fireplace, approaching where you’re sitting and cupping the side of your face with his calloused hand.
“Sh, sh, stop, baby. ‘S alright if you do, nothin’ to be ashamed of,” he comforts, and it takes all the willpower you have left not to let your eyes drift down to his stomach, so close you could kiss it, if he’d let you.
“It’s just… I missed you. I thought about you all the time, wondered what ever happened to you after you left. Didn’t even know if you were alive until today. I’m just happy to see you… doing so well. To see that you’re healthy, and everything.” You swallow hard, hoping you sound convincing enough that he’ll let this go, forget all about your little admission just now. But of course, Joel is as stubborn as he’s ever been, and he doesn’t plan on releasing you from his trap now that you’re ensnared in it.
“That’s sweet, baby, ‘s real sweet,” Joel says, softly, stroking his thumb across your cheekbone as he speaks. “Thought about you too, all this time. Practically every day…” He rakes his eyes over you, noticing the way his touch has you starting to melt already, how you’re looking up at him with your wide, needy eyes. “Why don’t you show me just how much you missed me, hm? How much you love seein’ me healthy, as you put it.”
You’re stunned into silence once again, jaw slack and pupils wide as you search his gaze for proof that he’s just messing with you, making fun of you just to watch you squirm. But you don’t find any.
“O-okay,” you agree in a half-whisper.
Joel smiles down at you, satisfied. “All these years later, still just the sweetest thing, ain’t you? You still just as obedient, too?”
You nod without even thinking, words catching up with your instinctual response a second later. “Mhm, yeah, I am…” You had forgotten how easy it is to submit to him, how good it feels to let the hypnotizing tone of his voice carry you somewhere far away from yourself, when you need it the most. Whether it was after a shitty day of working for shittier rations in the QZ, or after a harsh trek in harsher weather to a forested oasis, Joel always knows how to make you feel like submission is your most natural state.
“Good… Kneel for me please, sweetheart,” he commands, and you obey immediately, his hand slipping from your face as you slide from the couch onto the woven carpet beneath you. Like second nature, your hands automatically fold themselves on your lap, remembering how you were never to touch Joel until he permitted you to. He takes note of this, and praises you accordingly. “Look at that, didn’t even have to ask. Such a good girl.”
He’s so enamored with you, he almost forgets where he was going with this until he watches your eyes flash to the growing bulge in his jeans, then back up to him. “Not tonight, sweetheart. Was thinkin’ you could put that pretty mouth to use on somethin’ different this time, hm?”
You knit your brows together, not sure what he means, but he doesn’t let you wonder for long. Slowly, he starts to unbutton his flannel shirt, starting at the top and working his way down. He tosses it onto the ground, then pulls his undershirt off over his head, adding it to the other discarded clothing. Without the confines of his slightly-too-tight button-up, you can see how much he really has filled out. Everything about his upper body is just a little more plush, with petal pink stretch marks adorning the soft skin in various places. You want to make it your personal mission to kiss each and every one of them, commit their exact coordinates on his body to memory.
There's a deep scar, you notice, to the left of his belly button, that has almost successfully disguised itself as one of those pretty marks. It’s definitely new since you saw him last, and it looks like it hurt, especially with the evidence of how crudely it had been stitched back together.
“What happened?” you wonder aloud, worried eyes glued to the healed injury.
He has to peer over the curve of his belly to see what you’re looking at. “Long story. Happened on my way out here, after I left Boston. Nothin’ for you to worry about, sweet girl, hardly even hurt. Forget it’s even there, most of the time,” he answers, still with a dominant edge to his voice that does a mostly good job of convincing you it’s the truth.
“Can… Can I?” you ask, waiting to receive his permission before you move your hands from your lap.
“Yeah, baby, go ahead,” Joel allows.
You reach out a small hand to gently trace over the raised scar, then press your lips to it with your hands splayed out on either side of your head, just barely pressing into his belly. He releases a soft groan, cradling the back of your head with one of his hands, applying the lightest amount of pressure to let you know this is where he wants to keep you.
“Why don’t you keep goin’, sweetheart? Gimme some more lovin’ like that, know you wanna,” he encourages, and you think you get the idea now, what it is he wanted to put your pretty mouth to use for.
With his explicit permission to continue, you don’t need telling twice. You move your face to hover just in front of his belly button, admiring the dense salt and pepper happy trail that sprouts from where his jeans push into his soft skin. You drag your tongue along the hair, nipping at the soft curve of where it disappears into the divot in his stomach. He makes a noise in response, half pained and half pleasured, but he doesn’t stop you. Just for good measure, you place a kiss to the little blushing mark where your teeth had scraped him.
Almost of their own volition, it seems, your hands begin to knead at his stomach as you make good on your promise to yourself to kiss every single one of his stretch marks. You allow your tongue to dart from your mouth on the last one, and Joel sucks in a breath.
“Oh, fuck. Forgot how good that wet lil’ mouth feels on me, sweetheart. Keep goin’,” he says, voice coming out strained. His fingers curl tightly into your hair, and he begins to maneuver your face around his belly. You lave your tongue over his skin as he does, slicking him with wet, sloppy kisses. “Yeah, baby, you fuckin’ worship it, show me how much you like me like this.”
It’s a little humiliating, but just enough that you like the feeling. You’re breathing hard and fast, letting out little whimpers as your fluttering cunt begins to soak your underwear. He brings your face to a stop at the most tantalizing part of him, the part that truly evidences how much more he’s allowed himself to indulge since settling in Jackson. The ample curve of flesh that just barely conceals the waistband of his jeans, the part you’ve wanted to get your mouth on since you first saw how it strained the lower buttons of his shirt. You latch onto it, massaging the skin around it as you use your teeth and tongue to suck a mark into him.
A growl rumbles from deep in his chest, and he curses under his breath. “Like it that much, huh? Fuck, naughty thing, look at you.”
You’re so fucking turned on, you’re shivering, rocking where you kneel and squeezing your thighs together in an attempt to get some kind of relief. You let one of your hands drift to the hard shape in Joel’s jeans, and it seems he’s enjoying this as much as you are. He spots your pathetic little squirms as you rut against nothing, and then he’s using his grip on your hair to pull you up from the floor.
“Got an idea. Up,” he commands roughly, and you detach your lips from his belly to obey his order. “Get these off, there we go.” He pulls down your sweatpants and underwear, helping you step out of them. “Christ, you’re soaked,” Joel teases, eyeing the sizable wet spot in your panties as he tosses them aside to join the other forgotten clothing. He reaches a hand toward the apex of your thighs, teasing your wet pussy and gathering some of your slick on two of his fingers. You let out a tiny yelp, but let him play with you, and then he’s bringing his fingers in front of his face and examining the sticky strings of your arousal when he spreads them apart. “All this just from lettin’ you worship all this, huh?” he taunts, patting his stomach once for emphasis. “Who’d’ve thought? Not that I’m complainin’...”
He quickly rids himself of his jeans and briefs, then reclines onto the couch with a quiet groan, stretching out his body along the length of it. Your mouth waters at the sight of his cock, hard and leaking as it bobs against his belly, his precum adding to the dampness still there from your tongue. “Come sit, sweetheart,” Joel says, softly, motioning with both of his hands for you to come closer.
You grip a hand onto the backrest of the couch to balance yourself while you move to straddle him, prepared to sink down onto his length for the first time in way too fucking long. “Uh uh, not there, baby,” he instructs, smirking when he sees how you hesitate in confusion. “Take a seat right here for me.” Again, he pats that most tempting area of his lower belly, and you just about fall apart at the sight of how his flesh ripples in the wake of it.
“Yeah, there you go, good girl,” he praises, both hands gripping your waist as he helps you settle your weight onto his soft abdomen.
“I dunno, don’t wanna hurt you–” you start, but he cuts you off swiftly.
“You won’t, baby. I’m a big man, ain’t I?” he teases, flashing you a devilish and knowing smile. “Go on, sweetheart, ride it.”
You inhale a shuddering breath, then place both of your hands on his shoulders to hold yourself up. You start an experimental buck into his belly, and that trail of dark hair tickles your clit so perfectly. It takes a few tries for you to get the positioning and pressure just right, and then you’re truly riding him, using his full stomach to get yourself off while he watches.
“God, that’s good. Use it, baby. You love me bigger, love that I’ve been eatin’ so good, prove it to me, c’mon,” Joel goads, and it spurs you on to grind against him harder, faster, as incoherent mumbles and curses tumble from your lips.
“Love it, Joel, you look so good, fuck. So fucking–mmh–so big, makes me so… so–”
“I know it does, sweet girl, I know. Makes you fuckin’ soaked is what it does, god damn. You gonna get my belly all messy, hm? Gonna rub your lil’ cunt all over it, get me all fuckin’ wet?”
“Uh huh, yeah, gonna… I’m gonna–” you whine, eyes shutting tight as your hips pick up their pace. You move your hands from his shoulders to place them on his stomach instead, grabbing at handfuls of his tummy in an effort to create something more solid to rub yourself against.
You’re already embarrassingly close, the humiliating edge to your earlier worship having gotten you most of the way there on its own. So swollen and sensitive it almost hurts, you won’t need much more to reach your high.
“Not without me, you ain’t. Gonna be right there with ya. You remember how we used to do it?” Joel asks, as if you could ever forget. He’s referring to your many late nights, early mornings, in his bed or in a back alley or wherever in the QZ, where he liked to make sure you both finished at the same time. You’d always be the first one to reach the edge, because he’d focus all his attention on getting you there before him, just to make you wait. It was never something punishing, just something he liked to do as an extra bit of control and dominance, and he knew it always made your orgasms that much more powerful and satisfying when he would finally permit you to let go.
With your eyes closed, so focused on your own pleasure, you hadn’t noticed that he had reached behind you to start fisting his cock some time ago. But you can hear it now, the wet schlick of his hand moving up and down his shaft as he works himself. “Hold it for me, sweetheart, I know you can. Keep rubbin’ your pretty pussy against me, jus’ like that, almost there…”
You mewl, screwing your face up as you force yourself to slow down your thrusts, muscles tense as you try to keep your orgasm at bay for as long as you can.
Thankfully, he must be worked up enough from seeing you fall apart for him so easily for the first time in so long, that his permission comes just a few minutes later.
“Come for me, babygirl, soak my fuckin’ belly, c’mon,” Joel growls, and you fall forward immediately, twitching and spasming and crying out into the soft muscle of his shoulder as you ride out the shuddering shocks of your orgasm. He groans next to your ear as he comes, and you can feel the warm ropes of his own release as some of them land on your lower back. You’re both wet, heaving messes, as you embrace each other for the second time today and work on catching your breath.
So exhausted from the day you had, you must’ve fallen asleep against his chest as you laid there, because then you’re being woken up by the dull scratch of his fingertips against your scalp and his familiar voice working its way through the thick fog that clouds your tired brain.
“You alright, baby?” he asks, and you can hear that he’s smiling, amused at this sleepy little thing he’s got clinging to him.
“Mhm, jus’ tired,” you answer, a barely-there mumble of a sentence.
“I’ll bet… You wanna get cleaned up? Get all tucked into bed?”
You shake your head against his neck, and he chuckles.
“No? Whatcha wanna do then, hm?”
“Jus’ lay here. Missed you. Don’t wanna let… go…”
Your sentence drifts off into silence before the temptation of sleep allows you to finish it, but Joel gets the idea. He smiles to himself, kissing the top of your head, and hugs you closer. Both of you are still sticky and damp, but satisfied. And together again. And that’s a hell of a lot better than the alternative.
So he agrees, and you stay like that for the rest of the night. Joel doesn’t worry about whether or not he remembered to set his alarm clock for his extra patrol shift the next morning, or if he’ll even hear it all the way from his bedroom upstairs, because it doesn’t matter anyway. He has you, and you made it very clear tonight just how much you like him exactly the way he is.
Maybe, your rose garden can finally begin to bloom, now that the pair of you have somewhere safe and comfortable and healthy to try your hand at nurturing it again.

Drunk on You
Haymitch Abernathy x fem!reader
WC: 4k
CW: Drinking/being drunk; mentions of death and blood; age gap (legal and consensual- reader is 21)
A/n: Thank you for the request!! I'm so sorry this took so long. I have been in a writing rut and also very busy, but I hope you enjoy this! I know I sure did.
Tumblr media
You’d been lucky enough to avoid mentoring the first two years after your games- your first year by claiming insanity and the second merely because of the abundance of victors in your district. But the Capitol, and Snow, were ravenous for the return of their Angel- the sweet, innocent girl they painted you to be despite the blood they knew was on your hands.
And while the nightmares of your games were as fresh in your mind as the day they started, you persisted nonetheless. You couldn’t afford to let anyone else die at your hands, even if the cost to you was great.
So the day of the reaping you stood by Mags’ side- four’s other mentor this year- as you watched kids be chosen to be sent off to their deaths like pigs for slaughter.
The girl, someone you barely recognized but knew you’d gone to school with, looked strong. Like a potential competitor. She was tall enough, fairly lean, and the definition in her arms was obvious. Her age- eighteen- was a benefit too.
Whatever her name was (you’d been too anxious to pay attention), would be your mentee this year while Mags took the boy.
The boy.
Finnick Odair.
And while the age difference between you two was large- almost 7 years exactly- you guys were close. Like sibling-level close. It took everything in your power to not let the tears brimming at your waterline spill.
The aftermath was a flurry of rushed goodbyes, heated whispers, and your begging Mags to just help you make it through the games.
Though every instinct screamed at you to put all your efforts into Finnick’s survival, your mind knew it wasn’t the right thing to do. The girl, your mentee, may not have meant something to you, but she certainly meant something to someone. And she deserved life just as much as Finnick.
It didn’t make it any easier though.
And in the nights, when the nightmares and fears came creeping in, you turned to drink.
That’s how you met Haymitch.
Haymitch Abernathy. Blonde, 31, borderline alcoholic, victor of the second quarter quell. And your new drinking buddy.
Apparently.
When you get to the bar in the Tribute Center the first night it’s totally empty except for a few Capitol stragglers giggling in a corner booth.
You take a seat at the actual bar and order from the bartender- a brunette avox who couldn’t be much older than you. You’re sure to be extra polite as you accept your drink and take a sip of the strong concoction. It burns and you know it’ll fuck you up just enough to take the sting off the emotions squeezing your heart.
“Drinking alone? Seem a bit young to be doing that, sweetheart,” a voice interrupts from beside you.
You turn to find Haymitch Abernathy standing next to you, his appearance a little disheveled, but still obviously very handsome.
“Not sure you’re the one to be making judgements, Abernathy. You even sober right now?”
He smirks at you a little, “only buzzed for now. Care for some company?”
You scan the blonde suspiciously and decide he’s basically harmless, “fine, but you buy the next round.”
The District 12 victor lets out a chuckle and slides onto a stool beside you, “thought you had more money than you knew what to do with, four.”
“So do you,” you remind him with a shake of your head, “anyhow, it’s not about the money. It’s about the principle. You’re supposed to be a gentleman.”
Haymitch doesn’t reward you with an answer, instead turning to the bartender and ordering two glasses of whiskey.
“What brings you to the bar so early in the games?”
“Wanted to fully reacquaint myself with the tribute center,” you huff dryly, “I’ve missed it sooooo dearly.”
“You’ll get used to it pretty damn fast. Especially now that the Capitol’s got its claws back on you, you won’t be able to escape it.”
He takes a sip of his drink thoughtfully, “I mean, their angel has made her return.”
A scoff escapes you in spite of yourself and Haymitch smirks.
“What would they think if they knew you were getting wasted with the Capitol’s most disappointing victor? Your reputation would be ruined.”
“Then maybe I should stick around you a little longer, Twelve. Let some of your bad energy rub off on me. Maybe even have them catch me leaving your room.”
Haymitch chokes on his drink and you smirk.
“What?! Catch you leaving my room like, like we?”
“Had sex,” you tease, “goodness Abernathy, I didn’t pin you for a prude.”
He rolls his eyes at you and huffs cockily, “me, a prude? Babydoll back where I come from I have a reputation. I’m just shocked that the Capitol’s perfect little angel could be so naughty.”
It’s your turn to choke when he sends you a wink, and you try to cover it with a cough.
“Looks can be deceiving, Abernathy.”
*****
You’re not sure if it’s the booze or the blaring music that’s giving you a headache. Or maybe it’s the relentless stares and unwanted approaches by dimwitted Capitol folks. Regardless, you want to be anywhere but here right about now.
A party. Celebrating. The arrival of tributes. The arrival of doomed children.
It makes you sick.
You forget someone is yapping away in your ear until they’re suddenly interrupted by your savior.
Haymitch.
“I’m sure the story you’re telling is lovely, really, but unfortunately we’re being pulled away for important mentor business,” he shares calmly, barely suppressing a smirk.
“Oh, oh. Yes, of course,” the blue-haired person before you chatters, “I’ll have to catch you another time.”
Haymitch, thankfully, is already pulling you away before they can make you answer.
The blonde pulls you through the crowd, hands intertwined, and you can’t help but shiver. You figure it must be the evening chill in the air.
You seem to be walking forever, further and further away from the party until the voices and music are a faint hum. He’s hidden the two of you away in one of the President’s many flourishing gardens. One that, surprisingly, doesn’t have a rose in sight.
When Haymitch finally comes to a halt you look at him and smile, eyes darting between his face and your joined hands, “what was all that for?”
He looks at you disbelievingly, “I was saving you.”
You quirk an eyebrow at him, “who said I needed saving?”
“The poor glass in your hand that you nearly squeezed to death.”
You once over the glass full of some colorful drink in your hand and shrug noncommittally, throwing it back and then setting the empty glass on the wall.
“I think you just wanted time alone with me, Abernathy. Seems like an awfully convoluted plan….showing up to the Capitol party, stealing me away so dramatically….”
He releases your hand and leans back against the wall, “don’t flatter yourself. I’m here for the free booze. I only brought you here out of the goodness of my heart.”
A scoff escapes you and you roll your eyes.
“Anyhow, you owe me now- for saving you. And for missing out on free drinks because of it.”
“Let me guess, with more booze?”
“How else?”
“I don’t know… a meal, a simple favor…. My friendship?”
Haymitch winces and taked a large gulp of his drink, “don’t think the last would be much of a reward.”
You go to slap his arm but he stops you, his hand grabbing yours.
“You’ve got wicked fast reflexes,” you choke out, trying to suppress the gasp that escapes your lips.
“I’m a victor, remember?”
When you look up at him, his smile seems to briefly vanish, replaced with something much darker.
You take his drink and finish it while squeezing his other hand.
*****
“You clean up nice.”
Haymitch looks more than disgruntled to be stuffed into a fancy suit and you can barely suppress your laughter.
“Shut up,” he grumbles under his breath.
It reeks of booze.
“What? I’m just saying it’s nice that you’ve changed up the homeless look.”
The blonde eyes you with a glare, “And I see they’ve stuffed you into another ridiculous costume.”
Haymitch is right. You do look ridiculous, and you’re not even the one on stage tonight. The white, feathery dress made for you was certainly intended to represent your angel persona. You think you look more like a white duck.
“I suppose it’s better than usual,” you scoff, flattening out a few ruffled feathers, “though it itches like crazy.”
You begin to fidget with your dress again as the group of mentors slowly gather in their assigned seats near the front of the auditorium. The shrill voices of an excited audience echo loudly throughout the room as you step inside. You prepare for the stares and whispers, donning your mask and armor bravely.
Still, your hands shake. Your body’s thrown back in time to your games. You can remember clear as day standing up on that stage as Cesar talked and prodded, guiding you right into the role that had already been decided.
Sweet. Innocent. Lovely. An angel.
You’d fallen for the trap, mistaking the net for a lifeboat.
And had you ever really escaped it?
The knots in your stomach are answer enough, and the seat soon before you is a welcome reassurance for your wobbly legs.
Somehow, you’ve ended up between Mags and Haymitch. The former smiles at you warmly, nodding in a way that is inexplicably reassuring. Deep down, you know that she’s telling you that Finnick will be okay. That you’ll be okay.
And when a hand lands on your knee, you’re doubly reassured.
“Stop tapping your foot, it’s even making me anxious,” Haymitch grumbles.
You still, turning to look at him apologetically.
“Sorry, sorry. It’s just… weird being back.  I feel like I’m back in my own games, being in this room again. I hate it.”
Haymitch shifts a little and you see him reveal a small golden flask in his hand.
“Want a drink?”
As tempting as it sounds, you shake your head, “I think I’d puke if I drank. And I want to be present anyway. Ready for anything.”
Your eyes flit to his hand still on your knee and you recall the pleasing warmth as he held yours those few weeks ago. Carefully, you reach out and intertwine your fingers, resting your clasped hands between you. At first he stiffens, and you think he’s going to pull away. But then, he doesn’t.
And the flask disappears into his pocket, unused.
*****
The blare of the horn through the speakers nearly sends you into a meltdown on the spot. It feels so deeply real to you, even though you’re miles away from the games. Your eyes are trained on your tribute as she sprints forward towards the cornucopia, and towards her potential death. Still, she’s technically a career, so you have hope that she’ll survive the bloodbath.
Your eyes stray to Finnick too and your stomach rumbles in worry. But you know that he’s strong and determined, so you try to relax.
Like usual, the bloodbath is ruthless and you can barely stomach it. It’s worse too because you have a stake in the outcome. Not just your own life or strangers’ lives, but someone you’ve trained, someone you care about.
It doesn’t register with you that the death of strangers might actually affect you more than you realize. In particular, the two tributes from twelve. They’re struck down quickly, as they often are, and your heart twists. While the death of children is certainly part of the cause, it’s the image of Haymitch that really pains you. Another year, another loss, and you wonder how he bears it. You suppose he doesn’t.
Hence, the booze.
Once the initial craziness of the bloodbath calms down and you’re sure that both your tribute and Finnick are safe, you go on a hunt for Haymitch.
It doesn’t take you long if you follow the trail of beer.
Not literally, of course, but the bar is certainly the right place to start. Haymitch is slumped over on a stool and your heart breaks a little.
“Drinking alone?” you say quietly.
The blonde looks at you unimpressed and you’re immediately taken aback by the pain swimming behind his eyes.
“Care if I join you?”
He hums noncommittally and you don’t take that as an outward no. After you take a seat you order a drink and sip silently for a few moments.
“I’m sorry about your tributes.”
Haymitch shrugs, “I knew they were never gonna make it.”
“But it can still hurt,” you remind him.
Haymitch scoffs a little, “I don’t care. I barely knew the kids.”
You study his face and can tell that he actually does. Of course, you don’t say that. Instead, you reach out and grab his hand. This time, he doesn’t even flinch as he grips yours back.
“Let’s go somewhere quieter.”
You drag him along to the fourth floor suite and bring him inside.
“I’ve entered enemy territory,” the blonde says gruffly.
You smirk at him and hold up a bottle of whiskey, “what about now?”
He smiles a little and you pour a drink for each of you before settling on the couch next to him so that your knee is touching his thigh- so you’re fully facing him.
“You know, you don’t have to pretend to be strong,” you tell him softly.
“I’m not pretending, I’m fine.”
Haymitch turns his head away and you hear a small sniffle.
“Sweetheart,” you coo.
You grab his chin and gently turn his face towards you. He looks embarrassed and teary eyed and you stroke your thumb over his cheek. Haymitch’s eyes flutter shut and you think it’s a rather pretty sight.
“It’s okay,” you whisper very softly.
When Haymitch opens his eyes you’re inches apart, and your heart stutters in your chest.
You both lean slightly closer, your breaths mingling.
“Haymitch…”
He abruptly pulls back.
“I think I need another drink.”
*****
You suppose you’re glad it was quick. Hopefully pretty painless. No chance to be afraid or to bleed out slowly.
But it also happened so fast. One second your tribute was breathing, and now she’s gone. You’d had such high hopes for her, and now she was dead. Was it your fault?
Was there something you could’ve done to warn her? To prepare her better?
You feel even more guilty because you’re sort of relieved that she’s dead. Not because you wanted her to die, but because it means Finnick is one step closer to getting out of the arena. Back home to District Four where he is relatively safe- or at least in your dome of protection.
When the guilt subsides, it’s replaced by numbness. That’s all you feel.
You understand now why Haymitch drinks. It provides some semblance of warmth when all you feel inside is coldness and emptiness.
Knocking. You hear knocking.
You stumble to the door, bottle in hand, and there he stands.
“Haymitch!”
You lunge towards him and he catches you, gripping your waist firmly. If you were sober, you would’ve been able to suppress the shudder that runs through your body from his touch.
“Want a drink?” you slur, your boozy breath blowing in his face.
He shakes his head at you and you shrug, “more for me then.”
You lift the bottle neck to your mouth but he stops you, gripping your wrist gently.
“I think you’ve had enough, sweetheart.”
A loud laugh escapes your lips and Haymitch shushes you, shuffling the both of you inside and closing the door, “What’s so funny?”
“It’s just funny- you telling me I’ve had too much to drink. Hilaaaaarrious!”
“Well I have a better tolerance.”
You shuffle back and topple over the couch arm, sending Haymitch down on top of you.
“Oooooops… sorrrrryyyyy” you giggle.
The blonde pushes himself up off of you and sets the bottle down on the side table.
“Are you okay, sweetheart?” Haymitch asks softly, more kind than you’ve ever heard him before.
You sober up a little at the question and scoff, “Of course I’m not fine. My tribute just bled out on
television in front of millions of people.”
“I-I’m sorry,” he mutters gruffly.
“Why? What was it you said? You barely even knew your tributes…It’s not like I did either. Why should I care? Or be torn up?”
“Because you’re a better person than me,” Haymitch adds gently, “Because you wear your heart on your sleeve and care so deeply about people.”
He grips your knee and smiles at you sadly.
“Well I’m done with caring,” you slur, “It only hurts more. I like your way- drink yourself to death.”
You lunge towards the bottle behind him and he reaches out, stopping you again by grabbing your hips and pulling you against him. Surprisingly, he doesn’t let go when he pulls you away from the bottle. Instead, he pulls you into his chest, hugging you.
“What’re you doing?” you mumble into his chest.
“Giving you a hug, sweetheart.”
“Why?”
He scoffs exasperatedly, “I can stop.”
“NONONO don’t! Don’t.”
You shift back a little to look him in the eyes, “It’s… nice. You’re…nice.”
“I don’t think anyone’s ever called me nice before.”
You look at the blonde softly, infatuated by his face- the stubble across his chin, his piercing eyes, his lips…
By some unknown force, you’re pulled to his lips. You reach out and close your eyes, pressing your lips to his. For a moment, he reciprocates, his mouth melting against yours. But then he pulls away, “Stop, stop. You’re drunk.”
“So? You’re always drunk and I don’t stop you from doing things you want,” you remind him.
“I don’t- you’re. Even then, it doesn’t matter. You’re too young and I-”
Haymitch stands abruptly and leaves, abandoning you on the couch, alone.
*****
Finnick’s return to the Capitol should be more joyous than you currently feel. You’re beyond relieved that he’s back and safe, within arms reach. In fact, you haven’t let him out of your sight in days and you think he’s starting to get annoyed by you.
Still, something continues to burden your mind or, rather, someone.
You haven’t seen Haymitch since you drunkenly tried to kiss him a few days ago. Though you were incredibly wasted, his words still ring in your mind clear as day- “you’re too young.”
It’s more painful than flat out rejection, really. Him not having feelings is one thing, but the knowledge that he potentially does and still won’t let you in hurts much more. What-ifs haunt you constantly, and the memory of the look on his face when he pulled away slowly rips your heart to shreds.
Now there’s only an evening left until you’re set to return home to District Four, only one night until you won’t see Haymitch again until…well you’re not sure how long it will be.
“You know, I’m the one that should be moping about,” a voice says.
You look up to see Finnick staring at you from the doorway, a knowing look on his face.
“I’m not moping…I’m just tired,” you say.
It is true, but so is Finnick’s statement. Not that you’ll tell him that.
He quirks an eyebrow at you and walks into the room, plopping down on your bed, “Such a bullshit response. Come up with a better excuse if you’re going to lie.”
“I’m not lying I-”
You shut up as he looks at you unimpressed.
“Come on, I can read you like a book. What’s wrong?”
You sigh and look down at your hands, fidgeting with your fingers.
“Nothing I- I kissed Haymitch,” you murmur.
“What’d you say? I can barely hear you.”
“I kissed Haymitch,” you say more boldly.
Finnick’s eyes widen, and it would be comical if it were any other situation, “Abernathy? You kissed Haymitch Abernathy?”
“Yes, Abernathy. Is there any other Haymitch?”
Finnick shakes his head in disbelief, “I owe Mags five dollars.”
“Excuse me?”
“Mags told me she thought you two liked each other. But I didn’t believe her, so we bet on it. Guess I can’t be that mad though.”
“Well it doesn’t matter, we’re not together or anything.”
Finnick looks at you intently, “why not?”
You sigh and pause for a moment, “Because he said I was too young.”
“That’s such bullshit,” the blonde scoffs, “you’re only like, what, ten years younger? Anyhow, you’re an adult who can make her own decisions.”
You shrug your shoulders and sigh, “I just wish I never would’ve done anything. I was drunk and stupid and now he won’t talk to me.”
A pillow gets thrown at your face and you wince, scowling at Finnick, “what was that for?”
“Drunk you was smarter than sober you. She acted on her feelings. Now you’re just sitting around moping.”
“I-”
Finnick looks at you seriously, “Don’t waste your chance. We both know life is too short to have regrets.”
You stand up quickly and kiss Finnick on the cheek, “when did you get so smart little bro?”
He only rolls his eyes at your endearment and shoves you out the door.
Your hand shakes as you hold it up to the twelfth floor door. It’s ridiculous, really, how you’re more nervous to confess your feelings than you were to fight in the games.
You take a deep breath and finally knock stiffly.
There’s momentary silence and you think maybe Haymitch is asleep or not there. But then you hear shuffling from the other side and the door is yanked open- “Wha-?”
Haymitch freezes at the sight of you, his likely nasty reply hanging off of his lips.
“What are you doing here?” he asks more calmly.
“I-I came to apologize.”
Then, you shake your head, “that’s a lie. I’m not here to apologize because I’m not sorry for what I did… for kissing you. I’m only sorry you left too soon and I was too drunk for us to talk about it.”
Haymitch stands in the doorway still and only stares at you dumbfounded.
“Can-can I come in?”
Finally the blonde nods and steps aside, welcoming you into his space. It’s slightly messy and you suppose he hasn’t left the suite in days, not that you blame him or mind.
You find a seat on the couch, comfortably separate from Haymitch on the other end.
“Haymitch-”
“I’m sorry,” he interrupts.
“What?”
“I’m sorry. For walking out on you. It wasn’t the right thing to do. I-I panicked and you were drunk and…and I haven’t felt anything like that in a long time.”
You stare at him softly and your heart beats in your chest, “So you did feel something.”
Haymitch runs his hand through his hair exasperatedly, “Fuck, of course I did. I mean, you’re smart, funny, and beautiful, how could I not?”
Heat rushes to your cheeks and you look down at your hands awkwardly… “but you think I’m too young. You said that.”
He sighs, “I-I did. And I meant it. I still do. You’re young, you still have a life to live. You deserve to be with someone young and put together and better…”
You scoff gently, “Did you ever think to ask me what I think I deserve? Why do you get to decide for me?”
Haymitch’s mouth opens and closes silently like a fish.
“Maybe what I want- maybe what I deserve- is a kind, handsome guy who might be a little rough around the edges, but who is gooey and sweet on the inside. What then?”
“But I’m a drunk and fucked up and…”
You reach out and grip his hand tightly, “I don’t think I’ve seen you touch a drink in days. And also, look who you’re talking to. I don’t exactly handle my trauma well either. I’m a victor too, remember?”
You shuffle closer to him, “Please don’t push me away, please-”
Before you can finish your response you’re cut off as Haymitch moves forward and pulls you into him, kissing you passionately.
You melt into his touch and sigh, finally being rewarded with what you’ve been craving for weeks.
He pulls away and rests his forehead against yours, panting softly, “you know, you’re right. I haven’t drank in days because I found something better. I got drunk on you instead.”

after school!
spending your time with rin after school
itoshi rin x reader : fluff, drabble, not proofread + likes n reblogs are appreciated <3
rin thinks he can stay in this position for an eternity - his hands wrapped around your body as though fitting perfectly like puzzle pieces, eyes fixated on you and your phone - playing god knows what, his face melting into the warmth of your neck. he hopes you don’t turn around to notice his red face, he hopes you don’t feel his hands shakily lingering on your frame, he hopes you don’t realise he’s practically stuck on you like glue - its uncharacteristic of him. he knows logically with the scorching sun outside already peering through the thick curtain he always covers his windows, with the practically spoiled air-condition in his stuffy room, with the much bigger bed that he’s pressing you onto just one side of it, he can afford to move away. its terribly hot but he thinks he’s more addicted to you, the feeling of you on his hands, the feeling of you so close to him as though this was truly where you belong, the feeling of you so close to him that youre practically one together. he scrunches his face slightly, feeling you move within his arms, shifting into one that’s more comfortable for you whilst smiling at your phone playing one of those videos or games he just doesn’t quite get. but he thinks he can get used to it - getting used to you right on his bed everyday after school like you basically live here, getting used to dedicating his afternoons just lying down doing nothing with you, getting used to being yours as much as youre his.
he thinks about how much it has all changed since he’s met you, let you enter his castle of brick walls, get you to stay with him. afternoons like this used to spent on sweating himself off walking home to get rid of all his frustrations, wasting his time away and still avoiding that convenience store, lying down thinking about the past. yet now, he’s here on his bed from the cold bus ride with you, getting an ice cream from another convenience store that’s meant for you and him, lying down with you and thinking about both of you. he didn’t think he could ever get so close - he’s too afraid, he hates people too much, he doesn’t crave it he thinks, but who is he kidding? he craves it, the validation you give him by beaming at him like youre his whole world, the affection you give him through holding his hands, pecking at his face, combing his hair that just feels so much more than him doing it himself. its love, he knows: and just this once, he’ll give in to this addictive feeling, he’ll melt into this sugary-sweet feeling you give him, he’ll drown inside this unknown waters that envelop him completely as though hugging him.
maybe it wont last long - teenage love and all its angst he listens to songs like those. but he believes in both of you, you’ll be the exception, you’ll stay right here in his embrace, you’ll be his for the lifetime and if the world permits, in all of his lifetime and all parallel universes. sometimes, he finds himself dreaming of the future long past now, long away from this childhood bedroom of his still messy, long away from school that he practically only goes to see you - pulling at your matching necklace you bought with him at the arcade to kiss when he wins every and any football match, merging your body with his and becoming one just like now in a apartment at the seaside that you always chatter about with that crescent-eye grin, seeing you with a white veil in an all white room to profess yours and his love that wrapped around him like a jacket in a cold and harsh world. and he hopes it stays like this - he’s always being too idealistic, too dreamy, too passionate that sometimes it backfires - crumbled apart dreams under his brothers feet, crumbled apart test papers he’s thrown into the trash, but never crumbled apart love letters, photo albums, love of you and him.
he thinks too much - smiling as he notices your eyes closed, your head becoming heavy on his arms, hands letting go of the phone that drops lightly onto his sheets. for now, he should sleep too, dream the same dream you have, melt himself right onto you so he can wake up later - finish his homework with you on his desk, chat with you about everything and anything, and still have energy for his night exercise routine. and for now, he’ll indulge in this after school routine that he wishes could last forever, even when you two graduate, even when you two become adults - that the universe wont be cruel enough to separate the both of you, soulmates in his eyes.

Synopsis: After losing so much, Spider-woman learns to just keep moving. Only for her to end up somewhere far from home. Her first agenda is figuring out where she is, and how to get back. The only problem is that she ended up somewhere fictional (to her). Playing hero with Batman was not in her bingo cards this year. Hopefully she will be able to make it back home before she catches unwanted attention.

Chapter 1 - Home Sick
Okay, let’s start this from the top. Once upon a time and all that shit.
You had somehow, some way, ended up stranded in another universe when you were going toe-to-toe with the Spot that (unfortunately) Mile’s apparently created (unintentionally). Got it? Good.
Now the question is how you got stranded in another universe while fighting the Spot is another shebang that you do not know, and frankly, not your top priority as of right now.
Your mission is finding a way to power your web-watch (no offense but the gizmo name sucks), and either use it to find Miguel, the spider-society, or your very own earth. You honestly weren’t choosy on which option you land, as long as you safely made it out alive and unscathed.
Speaking of unscathed, which in fact you are not, you quietly swung across many buildings, in the shadows, making sure you were hard to spot. Your dark spider suit being perfect for night patrol is a blessing for the camouflage it provides you in this god forsaken gloomy city.
Now, to get back on track, it took you an embarrassing amount of time to process that you have basically been thrown into a world where in your universe is all but fiction.
Have you kept up with the comics?
No, of course not. After Aunt May’s passing, you honestly gave up everything and just solely dedicated yourself into fighting crime. Well, you know some things, since Peter was also a mega comic nerd.
He would go on for hours and hours and hours about Batman and his kids (adopted and biological) and whatnot. You didn’t mind, since spending time with a talkative Peter was better than being in your own headspace. If you recall the latest one to come under Batman’s wing was someone named Duke? Well, that’s as far as you remember.
Regardless, now you're looting someone’s clothing wire. Picking out a thick gray turtleneck and black leggings (thank god) you don them over your suit, making sure nothing was visible. Now the issue is your footwear. Maybe you can get away with it?
Taking off the mask you were able to stuff it inside your bra (extra pocket, am I right?) while your gloves were hidden among your sleeves. Making sure nothing was out of place you pulled out the wallets of the two petty criminals, counting the money.
“Four-fifty, not bad.” Though you don’t condone your actions, you are in a precarious situation at the moment. Oh well. Tossing one of the wallets away (making sure not to touch it with your fingers), you also placed it inside your bra for safe keeping.
Maybe this would be enough for a motel? How expensive- or cheap are those in Gotham? With how often crimes occur, it shouldn’t be that expensive, right? Regardless, first things first, find a place to eat, find out the date and then a place to stay. Shouldn't be too hard.
Quietly climbing down the side of a complex building, you made sure the coast was clear before heading out. The lack of a jacket made you feel very vulnerable and exposed. Head down and hands to your sides, the cool breeze of the city causes shivers down your spine. “This fucking sucks.” you mumbled, making sure to avoid gothamites as much as possible.
No time to gawk at your environment when you’re so out of place. You honestly just kept walking around, hearing police sirens and the occasional cop car driving by while you try to not lose your goddamn mind.
Walking around, using back streets and alleys you shiver as the cold nips at your face. It’s not that you’re sensitive to cold, it’s just that you can’t afford to get sick here. In a world where you don’t exist.
“Wait a minute…” thinking back on something, it’s true that you don’t exist here. But that doesn’t mean that a you- doesn’t exist. Maybe somehow there is a version of you or spider-woman here. A far reach but hey, just hours ago, this was all fictional to you. But something worth looking into.
With a heavy sigh you walk inside an alley, looking up to gauge the time to see- oh, what’s that? Another clothing line! And guess what? It has more clothes to loot! Score! Don’t mind if I do! Finders keepers baby!
And you thought your spider luck was ass.
Discreetly looking around to see for any cameras that can potentially identify you only to come out flat. Perfect. Using the fire escape you parkour to snag a black oversized zip up sweater.
This would be perfect in covering you even further (and now you have pockets for your mask) and making your figure harder to identify. Now you can start acting like a true gothamite.
With a pep in your step, you exit the alleyway.
Spotting a diner up ahead, settling yourself inside you order your drink of choice and a bagel just to have something to entertain yourself while you calm your nerves.
Sitting down next to a window, taking slow sips and bites from your meal you subtly look around (making a point of subtly ignoring the gaze of the cashier). It seems to be late afternoon, heading to night. Not good, not good at all.
Besides finding a place to stay, you glance at your wrist, the web watch looking pretty obvious and suspicious out there in the open on your wrist. But, without it, you could perish in this foreign world. Should you pull a Hobie Brown and create a new watch from scratch? No, you don’t have the time, tools, or luxury. Thank god for the hoodie covering it up.
Right now, staying on task is essential. A job, maybe? With what credentials? Hell, you don’t even have an ID. Maybe a fake one? Who would do such a thing for a reasonable price and isn’t a criminal? Another note, you need supplies, enough to build web shooters and the cartridge. Unlike other spiders, you had the ability to shoot webs from your wrist, gross. But (with Peter’s intellect) you ended up also creating webs on your own in case yours fails. And it has- a lot both in comical and crucial times. Peter wouldn’t let you live anything down (god you miss him).
And being in a new world and everything going on, the last thing you need is a web block because of the high anxiety and stress this place is already giving you. You’d rather be safe than sorry. Now, how to get supplies? Stealing them seems easier than working for it. You just don’t have the time. How were you going to steal them, and from where? Who the fuck knows. Probably from a college science room or something.
In order to do even that, you need to find out the layout and what not of this place. So maybe the best place to start is the library? Doesn’t someone from Batman’s little possie work at the library? Can you risk that? Probably.
Fuck, this was going to be harder than it looks. No phone, basically no money (not counting the one you stole from criminals), no ID (or insurance), no place to stay, no allies, ya got nothing. Zip, zero, nada.
You feel so lost and alone, so vulnerable. And the thoughts in your head are slowly getting louder and louder. Eating away at your insecurities and feelings. God, you’re starting to get homesick. Will you make it back? Will you find a way back home? Is anyone even looking for you?
Last thing you recall was fighting the Spot with Miles, Hobie, Gwen and Pavitr. You remember hopping onto Spot’s back while he was absorbing but then he poof and you along with him. Everything went black for you and then you landed here in this city (ungracefully might I add).
You just want to go home…even if it’s lonely without Uncle Ben, Aunt May and Peter Parker.
You really have nothing, rock bottom, baby. But then again, the only place to go is up, right?
Sighing you finished your drink and bagel before leaving the diner, making sure to look at the clock above the exit, and aimlessly walking around. Would they let you in one of those shelters? Are those even a thing? Probably, maybe.
Couldn’t hurt to try. Buuuuut, then again, you need the privacy, so maybe the shelter was a no go. Okay, perfect, back to square fucking zero. A cheap and possibly dangerous motel it is!
Hopefully your spider luck doesn’t fuck you over. You’re honestly thankful for not coming across any batsonas and whatnot. And you were able to get clothes so you say you’re two for two.
After looking around for some time, emphasis on some, you managed to find a motel and get yourself settled. No ID required, just cash, and you internally sobbed at the remaining funds you had left. You really will need a job or a sustainable income.
“Are underground rings still a thing? Is it a thing here?” You mumbled, discarding your stolen clothes before fiddling with your watch until its screen flashes before abruptly turning dark again. “Well now, how fucked am I?” A deep sigh resonated in the empty room. Hopefully while it turned on, Miguel would somehow by some god given miracle (or your spider luck but don’t bank on it) that he received at least a signal, no matter how microscopic it is.
You had to get home. At all costs. This place isn’t your home. It’s not like you should play by the rules. But, Ben, May, and Peter would be so disappointed in you if you break laws just to return to your home universe. And if you’re being truthful, it wouldn’t sit right with you either…
But Miles needs you.
If this world doesn’t have a- you in it, then you aren’t needed here. So you shouldn’t waste time twiddling your thumbs. Maybe you really do need to break into a computer lab to see what’s up with your watch or scavenge for parts. Hobie built it with parts from Miguel’s earth. Meaning, you can too, with whatever scraps you can find.
You’ll prioritize your watch first, then this city. It’s unfortunate, but you really have to get back home, and you can’t let your feelings get in the way and distract you.
Maybe you should call it a night? Figure things out in the morning? A yawn takes over your thoughts. “Yea, sleep sounds really good right now.”
These problems are for tomorrow’s you. For now, you’ll catch some Zzz’s and flesh out a detailed plan on how to get back home.
You’re banking on hacking a computer at the library despite the risks. Shooting a web at the door to prevent any possible and/or unwanted inconveniences because let’s be honest, trust no one but yourself, especially in this bat(ha)shit crazy world, better to be safe than sorry. You need your sanity to fix or at least charge your watch in order to get back home.
“Ben, May, Peter- give me strength.” and into dreamland you go.
-
“Hey B, come look at this.” A female voice spoke out, catching the attention of the adult in the cave. “I got something to show you. I got a trace of a disruption- but it happened quickly and only once.”
“Where.” A gruff and stern voice asked.
“Around the East End.”
“I’ll let Selina know.”
“Should I get someone to look into it?”
“No, I’ll do it myself.”
With that, silence once again enveloped the Bat cave as Batman stepped out.

I'll be honest, I have no outline of where I want this story to go, this is just brainrot hour for me. Less go. A very high chance this will soon turn into somewhat of "yandere" but it's mostly just them being "possessive" honestly. Slooow burn. This was the last thing i had typed up, and I have no clue where I will drive this story, oops.

Spoiled Rotten - Chris Sturniolo
Tumblr media
summary : chris spoils you like no other and you show him how grateful you are
warnings : chris basically being a sugar daddy, swearing, m! oral, p in v, breeding kink, probably some other shit idk
a/n : hii, it’s been entirely too long. i’m kinda rusty but i hope this makes up for it!!
Getting everything you’ve ever wanted, even without having to ask, is something you never would’ve imagined for yourself. You’ve always had to work so incredibly hard for even the smallest things. Hell, you’ve had to work two jobs since you were old enough to work, just to be able to afford your bills.
Having a deadbeat father and a mother who had passed always made your life hard. It was up to you to keep things afloat. Keeping the bills paid, the kitchen stocked with groceries, the house tidy — it was all up to you, on top of having to keep your grades up to avoid the wrath of your absent yet, for some reason, still abusive father.
After your mom died, everything went downhill. Your father spiraled out of control. Because of his own wrongdoings, he took his anger out on you. He lost his job, gambled away the majority of your family’s savings, and spent the rest of it on alcohol and drugs. He made it all out to be your fault. If you hadn’t stepped up and started working your ass off, you’d definitely be living on the streets right now.
So, from where you were only a few years ago, to where you are now — you never would’ve pictured having any and everything you could ever want. Especially, from someone else’s wallet.
Chris’ wallet.
Your boyfriend knew of your previous struggles. He’d been your best friend since you were in elementary, so he witnessed what you had to do to get by. He’d beg and beg for you to just let him help, but you’d always refuse. If your own father can’t take care of you, why would you expect someone else to?
However, after so long, Chris ignored your reluctance and was quick to pamper you. Quick to provide for you. You’re everything to him, and he wants to make up for your sorry excuse of a father.
He moved you in with him after being together for two years. He doesn’t let you pay for anything. Him and his brothers keep the bills paid, as well as food in the kitchen. Anything to do with money, he’s got covered. And he still makes sure to spoil you rotten. Yet, not without a complaint from you.
“Chris!” You pouted, “Will you put your damn wallet away?”
Instantly, he’s shaking his head, “No. I don’t know why we have to keep going over this. Whatever you want, I’m getting. So, stop complaining and accept it.”
“But-“
He’s quick to cut you off with a peck to your lips. When you huff, he only grins and wraps an arm around your waist, continuing your stroll through the store.
Chris is extremely observant, and he knows you. He knows you like the back of his hand. So, when you turn away from something too quick after checking the price tag, he knows it’s something you like. You’re trying to throw him off and act uninterested in the entire store, but he can read you better than anyone.
So, while you’re off browsing through everything, grabbing the few things that you can afford, in hopes of talking him into letting you pay for it, he’s backtracking and grabbing your size in everything you took a liking in. By the time you make your way to the registers, Chris is already swiping his card.
Upon seeing the multiple bags on the counter in front of him, you can’t help but frown. You slowly turn around, heading to put the few shirts you had grabbed back. There’s no use in trying.
When you head back to Chris, he’s eyeing you with furrowed eyebrows. You walk next to him and he’s looking between you and the rack you were just at.
“Did you want those?” He asks.
You quickly shake your head, “No.”
“Are you sure? I can-“
You instantly loop your arm with his and drag him to the exit. You’re extremely grateful, but you can’t help but a little guilty because he spends so much money on you. You don’t want him to feel obligated just because you had a shitty past.
However, that’s far from how he feels. He just loves and adores you, and wants to give you everything you could ever want.
On the way home, Chris has your hand in his while he drives. Your eyes never leave him as you’re deep in thought. Thinking of everything he’s ever done and continues to do for you makes you so happy you could cry. You just want to show him how appreciative you are.
Pulling up to the house, you notice a big box sitting in front of the door. You furrow your eyebrows for a second, before concluding one of the boys must have ordered something. Once you both get out with the few bags, you head over and Chris picks up the box with a giant smile on his face.
You can’t help but smile at his smile, “Is that for you? What did you get?”
His eyes twinkle as he looks at you, “You’ll see.”
You give him a quizzical look before following him inside. Rather than stopping at the kitchen, he goes straight down to your shared room, so you follow him.
He places the box on the floor and is quick to open it. You set your bags down on the desk chair and walk over to him, your brows raised with curiosity. As soon as he gets the box open, he smiles widely and gestures for you to look and rummage through. Which you do. What you see has you gasping.
“Chris! You did not…”
He proudly nods, “I did, baby.”
Inside the box are numerous purses, shoes, fragrances, and several boxed skincare products. All things you had in your online cart. Things you never actually planned on buying, for the prices are too expensive, and you were only having a little fun.
Your heart swells at the gesture. He’s always doing the absolute most for you. There’s never ever been a time where he’s denied you of something you want, especially if it comes with a price tag.
You turn to Chris, a downward smile pulling to your lips as you look at him. He smiles back, only bigger and brighter. You take his hands in yours and yank him into you. Your lips meet his in a soft kiss. When he pulls away, you’re left chasing his lips for another. Passionately kissing him, until you’re both left breathless.
As soon as you part, you’re pushing him back onto the bed behind him. He falls with a bounce and wide eyes as he stares up at you.
Before he gets a word out, you’re straddling his lap. “You’re always so good to me. Let me be good to you.”
It takes seconds for Chris to start growing beneath your center. You lick your lips and lean forward, diving into a feverish kiss. His hands quickly meet your back, rubbing up and down, and along your sides.
You hum against his lips, enjoying the feeling of his hands on your body. Your hands move from his face to his hair, sharply tugging on it, eliciting a groan from him that makes your heat throb.
You pull away, your breathing shallow as you tug at the hem of his shirt. He leans up to assist you in removing it, before taking your lips in his again. Your hands instantly meet his bare torso, touching along his pecks and running your hands down his abdomen. His skin is hot beneath your fingertips and it stirs something inside of your stomach.
Your tongues dance together, moving in perfect sync with one another. The kiss gets sloppy, saliva coating both of your mouths. Chris is now rock hard beneath you, and you can’t help but grind against him, the two of you moaning into the kiss.
Your hands travel down his stomach, hooking onto his belt. Without parting from him, you undo his buckle and pull the belt from the loops of his jeans.
“God, you’re so hot.” He groans against your mouth.
You grin and push him back, his hair fluffing as his head hits the pillow below him. Your fingers grasp the button on his pants and quickly part it, slowly sliding his zipper down. He bucks his hips into your hands, desperate for more friction.
You lean forward, whispering in his ear, “Easy baby.” You place a kiss on his neck, causing him to shudder. “Promise I’m gonna make you feel so good.”
With one last kiss to his lips, you remove yourself from his lap and kneel beside him. He lifts his hips up to help you pull his pants down, his boxers following shortly after.
His cock stands tall, fully erect. Precum dribbles from the tip as his veins practically throb. Your mouth is watering at the sight. You take him in your palm, gripping softly. He takes in a sharp breath at the feeling, already fisting the sheets.
You stare into his eyes, puckering your lips, and push forward a jewel of saliva. It falls onto his head, trickling down his length, causing his mouth to fall slack as he takes you in.
You never cease to amaze him. Looking so innocent, but about to swallow him whole. He loves everything about you, especially the way you wrap your mouth around him.
Your tongue flicks over the slit of his tip, causing him to let out a small groan. You smile and wrap your lips around his head, sucking softly.
“Fuck..” He whispers, breathlessly.
Letting your mouth salivate even more, you continue teasing him. His breathing is erratic, eyes wide as he watches you. He so badly wants to shove his dick down your throat.
Luckily for him, you stop with the games and take him into your mouth. You force yourself down to the base, your nose pressing into his pelvic bone. He lets out a throaty moan at the feeling of his tip digging into the warm walls of your throat.
You flatten your tongue and begin bobbing your head up and down, working his cock the way he loves. Occasionally humming around him, pulling more moans from his pretty mouth.
“So fucking good.” He groans, bucking into your mouth.
His hands entangle in your hair as you look up at him and give him the slightest nod, keeping your mouth on him. His grip on you tightens, holding you in place as he begins thrusting in and out of your mouth.
The sounds of wet gagging fill the air, topped with his moans and groans. Your eyes prick with tears before they’re soon falling down your cheeks. Your face is flushed and stained with mascara streaks, drool falling down your chin. Chris can’t help but think you look the prettiest you’ve ever looked as he fucks your throat.
Your hand cups his balls, softly massaging them. His moans grow louder from the sensation, his orgasm approaching rather quickly from the combined stimulations.
His thrusts into your mouth grow sloppy and disorganized. His stomach tightens and his arms flex as he’s pushed over the edge. His hands push you into his dick, holding you in place as it bulges through your neck. He tosses his head back with a lewd moan leaving his mouth, his cock simultaneously spilling down your throat. It’s warm as it smoothly coats your throat, almost like honey when you’re sick. You love every bit of it.
Licking around his member, you pull your lips from him, making sure to suck every bit of cum from him. He groans at the sight of you swallowing every drop, and instantly pulls you up to him with a rough grip on your jaw.
He smashed his lips on yours, kissing you deeply and hungrily. Your pussy throbs for more, aching to be filled with his cock. It only takes a few seconds before he’s flipping you over.
He kneels between your thighs and tugs at your shirt, swiftly removing it. You bite your bottom lip in excitement, ready for him to fuck your brains out. His hands are quickly at your shorts, tugging them and your panties off in one motion. Him being eager to be inside you has you clenching around nothing.
His hands grope your bare tits, squeezing them in his palms. Your soft moans only encourage him. One hand goes back and forth between them, tweaking your nipples. His other hand slides between your legs, running through your folds.
He hums, “So wet already. Does sucking my cock turn you on? Hm?”
You only nod, your bottom lip still pressed tightly between your teeth.
“Mm, such a good little slut for me.”
You whine at his words and push your core into his hand, desperate for more. He pulls away from you, his hand suddenly coming down on your pussy in a quick motion, causing you to yelp as your body jerks. Your arousal only leaks more than it was. To which he notices.
He pouts, “Aw, you like that? You want it rough, don’t you?”
Your head quickly shakes up and down, whining as he rubs your clit. “Yes! Please, please. Want you to fuck me dumb.”
It didn’t take much for Chris to become fully erect again. You always do it for him. The second he kissed you after you swallowed him, he was growing again. That’s something you both love. Sometimes, you can go round after round.
He takes hold of his dick and runs it along your pussy. You whimper from the feeling, slightly grinding down into him. After a few teasing touches, his cock his saturated with your juices, making it easier to slide into you.
Your walls stretch around his girth in such a painfully pleasurable way. Your breath is stripped from your lungs as he bottoms out. You’ve never felt so full. His breath staggers from above you, loving the way you hug him so snugly.
He waits for you to adjust, and once he feels you aren’t so tense, he begins rocking in and out of you. Soft moans leave your lips as your hands run up his arms and grip his biceps. He leans down and presses a few kisses to your hand before picking up the speed.
“You feel so fucking good.” He moans, his strokes deep and hard.
Your mouth falls open, continuous moans emitting from it as your eyes roll back while your head falls to the side. Chris nudges your head to the side and attacks your neck with wet and sloppy open mouthed kisses. His hand suddenly wraps around your throat, applying a great pressure as he pushes himself up. His opposite hand grips your tit before smacking it, causing you to moan and clench around him.
“Look at me when I’m fucking you.” He grits, his hips snapping into yours with a strong force.
You want to look, but you can’t. Your eyes are practically stuck rolled into your head. You can hardly breathe with how hard he’s fucking you. Before you can even try, his hand slaps your face. Not enough to cause damage, but enough to feel the remaining sting. You can’t help but gush around his cock, loving every bit of it all.
You forcefully put your head down, eyes straining to focus on him. And boy are you glad. His hair is slick against his forehead, his skin glistening with a sheen layer of sweat. His cheeks are flushed a rosy pink color, his lips plump from your previous make out. His brows are furrowed in concentration and his entire face is struck with absolute pleasure. He looks like a dream.
You reach your hand out to caress his face and he leans into your touch. You love that he can still be sweet while completely wrecking you.
“Tell me how you feel.” He groans as he fucks in and out of you.
You bring your bottom lip in between your teeth, biting hard to control your moans. Though, it doesn’t work as your jaw drops and loud cries fall from your mouth.
His hand meets your jaw, slightly jerking to snap you out of the blissful trance he’s put you in. His eyes are dark as they bore into you, reiterating with every thrust, “Tell me. How you. Feel.”
Your face contorts in pleasure, sobbing out in between thrusts, “Mm, so good. F-feels sooo good, baby.”
“Such a good girl for me.” He coos, breathlessly.
Your mouth falls open, silent moans leaving it as he fucks into you. You’re on cloud nine. Your body feels on fire as pure bliss floods your veins. You can’t help but repeatedly clench around him as your climax nears. Your face contorts in pleasure, nails digging into his arm, leaving behind crescent shapes in his skin. The knot in your stomach tightens before unexpectedly snapping. You clench around his cock, your juices saturating him as you come undone.
He moans at the feeling, burying his face in your neck as he drops down again, digging into you deeper and deeper. “Gonna fill you up, ma. You’d like that, yeah? Give you my babies? Just wanna have even more to give you, you drive me fucking crazy.”
You soak in his words as you come down from your high, your legs immediately wrapping around his waist, pulling him into you. He smirks at your action, pressing a few sloppy kisses on your lips.
“Yeah, I knew you’d like that.” He moans as his thrusts grow erratic and out of rhythm.
His grip on you tightens, surely leaving behind purple finger shaped bruises. He buries cock into you, loudly groaning as he fills you up. He keeps fucking into you, determined to give you all he’s got. As soon as he can’t take it anymore, he pulls out and collapses beside you.
The two of you lay there, sweaty and panting, trying to recover from your intense orgasms. You both meet eyes, silly grins pulling to both of your faces. Neither of you have ever loved someone more.
Before succumbing to the exhaustion he felt, Chris perks up and leans over to his bedside table. “Oh, I got you one more thing.”
He turns back to you with a small black bag in his hand, offering it to you with a bright smile. You look at him with a pout, before taking the bag.
“When are you gonna stop with this?” You question, cheekily adding, “Aren’t your kids enough?”
He chuckles at you, “Just open the bag.”
So, you do. Inside it is a small black wallet — a wallet that is known for being one of a kind. Its intricate patterns are displayed along the material, the infamous logo engraved in the corner. You open it up to further examine it, your brows furrowing at what’s inside. Upon retrieving it, you look at Chris with a deadpan expression. His black credit card.
He smirks at you, “Yours now baby. No limit, so don’t even bother asking before you swipe it.”
a/n : ughh, okay so tbh i rushed the ending bc i ended up losing half of what i had since my cellular device is a literal piece of garbage. anywho, fingers crossed this was enjoyable lmaoo. it’s gonna take a minute for me to get back into things! missed you guys tho <3

featuring -> luke hughes x female reader
word count -> 2.8k
genre -> fluff/angst
summary -> luke comes back to umich, but he can’t avoid seeing you
note -> italics are flashbacks
The start of another school year meant another fall semester filled with football, house parties, and memories. You and your friends had just finished moving in the day before, Saturday being blocked off on your calendar as the day of welcome back parties all over campus. Typically you would have one house in mind to go to, but since he’d left Michigan, you weren’t a fan. Not that the other guys that were still around weren’t great, but the memories that remained after Luke had moved on to New Jersey were still so fresh for you. Though it was your Senior year, and you were trying your best to make it a great one.
You and your friends headed down the sidewalk, closing in on the hockey house and you could feel your palms growing sweaty. The house still looked just as it did the first night you’d shown up there Freshman year, not a clue of who you would meet that night.
-
“Can I get you anything?”
Looking up, your eyes met those of the curly haired Freshman you’d heard was named Luke. He smiled softly down at you, noticing how shy you’d become looking over the large amount of alcohol they had covering their kitchen counter. Your freehand scratching at the skin of your wrist, a nervous habit Luke surely noticed but found cute, smiling down at you as you nodded.
“Um, sure.”
“We’ve got beer, vodka, tequila. Though I would not recommend that unless you’re actually trying to die tonight.”
You laughed at his joking as he gave you the grand tour of the bottom shelf alcohol that the boys could afford. Though no one minding as they more so cared about being drunk than what the liquids tasted like.
“What are you drinking?”
Luke looked at his solo cup, making a face before returning eye contact.
“Beer, but if I’m honest I wouldn’t recommend this either. It’s awful to be blunt.”
The two of you laughed together, your eyes scouring the options once again as the only logical choice remained, vodka. Luke poured you some into a cup, letting you decide on what you’d opt to mix into the alcohol. Though he mentioned he wouldn’t judge if you drank it straight, but surely it would taste worse that way.
“I’m Luke.”
“Y/n.”
“Well y/n, can I give you the tour?”
-
Little did you know it, but at the time Luke was using the excuse of a tour as a way to get away from the party. He wasn’t the biggest party animal his Freshman year, enjoying the opportunity to sneak away with you for a bit and relax. His favorite spot was to sneak up onto the roof, not many people knew how and it was often quiet up there.
But it was clear that had changed as the roof was currently crowded with tens of people seated around, some chugging beers and tossing them to the ground below. Others shouting at the crowd below over the music that was blasting from the house.
-
“So Luke Hughes, how long until people discover our secret spot?”
The two of you had been keeping up the routine of sneaking to the roof for several weekends now. No one ever seemed to notice, and even if they did they made their own assumptions of what the two of you were doing.
“Hmm, well, I would hope they never do. I’d love for this to stay our spot. But, I would say maybe two more weekends and we will get kicked out.”
He sipped his beer as the two of you watched the party taking place below. Always loving to watch his teammates try their luck with different girls; some succeeding, others striking out.
“Can I ask you something?”
You looked to Luke, his smile fading as he looked more sincere, nodding his head as his way of asking you to continue.
“Do you, are we…sorry, I just. I don’t want to read too much into anything, but, what would you say this is? Like with us?”
Luke sighed softly, sipping his beer as he tried to find the right response. Making you nervously scratch at your wrist as you were immediately regretting even asking the question. Surely he didn’t see this as anything, he was focused on hockey not relationships.
“I think this is, comfortable? It feels right? I don’t know, I just really like you being here with me. I can’t describe it, but it feels natural. What do you think?
He nervously sipped his beer while you now tapped the side of your seltzer, nodding slightly in agreement as you were thinking of your own response.
“I agree. It feels right, whatever it is. I just enjoy the time I get with you, always. And, I’m happy here.”
“Me too.”
Luke’s smile faded as he slowly moved closer to you, his hand tucking some of your hair behind your ear before resting on your cheek. You could feel his breath against your lips he was so close to you. Your eyes darted from his lips to his eyes as time felt like it was frozen before he’d finally kissed you. The two of you tangling your hands into each other's hair, the taste of alcohol mixed with your chapstick. Neither one of you fighting for dominance, simply letting the moment happen how it may.
Luke finally pulled away, a blush on his cheeks as he scratched his head. Slightly embarrassed at his forwardness, but appreciating that you didn’t seem to turn down his actions.
“Still feels right?”
“Mhm, definitely.”
Luke smiled as he looked down, messing with the bracelets on his wrist, pulling a simple rubberband type off and grabbing for your hand.
“Here.”
He placed the bracelet on your wrist with a smile, admiring how it looked despite its simple nature.
“Whenever you’re feeling nervous, when you’re missing me, or whatever the case may be. I’ll be there.”
You smiled at the rubberband, lightly snapping it against your skin. Realizing that not only was it a reminder of Luke, but something to help your nervous habit he’d obviously picked up on. Appreciating the gesture and that he’d noticed the small quirk about you.
-
That bracelet was your source of comfort during numerous finals weeks, a stress reliever during all of Luke’s home games as you’d snap it against your skin. And even with Luke leaving for New Jersey, the bracelet remained as a symbol of his promise to always come back.
Things between you and Luke had continued similarly to how they’d started your Freshman year. Though never putting a label on things, it was common knowledge that you were certainly more than nothing, you were something.
You watched the group of girls from across the way, crowding around in hopes to get to see the guys after their big win. It was a normal occurrence, especially with girls from opposing schools. And while you and Luke were definitely secure in your relationship, you still couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous.
Watching how the girls all flocked to him, asking for pictures, trying to create small talk. Luke of course too nice to ignore them, simply smiling through it all.
Looking up, his eyes met yours, his smile growing wide as he excused himself from the group of girls. Immediately wrapping his arms around your waist as he picked you up, stealing a kiss before setting you back down.
“You’ve got some groupies huh?”
Luke rolled his eyes with a short, placing an arm around your shoulder as you two started off towards the exit.
“Only one groupie I have eyes for babe.”
-
Things were great with Luke, that was until he’d gotten drafted by the Devils. You knew the day was likely to come at some point, but you never thought about what it would be like when it finally did.
The conversation hadn’t really taken place regarding what would happen for the two of you if and when he made the move to New Jersey. But once things were official, and he was leaving, you were faced with the inevitable.
-
“So, you weren’t gonna tell me until the day you were leaving?”
You looked to Luke through tear filled eyes. While you wanted to be happy and excited for him, having just signed his entry level contract with the Devils. You were heartbroken that in the same day he’d achieved his dreams, he was also telling you goodbye.
“I know, it’s the worst possible way to tell you. But, believe me, this is all happening so fast there was no right time for any of this. I hate having to just up and leave you. I won't be that far, you can come visit me, we will see each other in the summer. This doesn’t change anything.”
Luke looked down to see you nervously pulling at the rubberband that was on your wrist. Smiling softly as he knew you hadn’t once taken it off since he’d given it to you over a year ago.
Taking your hands in his he tried his best to relax your mind that he could see was racing with a million and one thoughts.
“Look at me, I promise, this doesn’t change things okay?”
You wanted to believe him, that him only being a few states away wouldn’t change anything. That you’d continue with your relationship exactly how it had been. That you could snap the rubberband on your wrist whenever you were sad, anxious, or missing him, and it would all magically get better. But you couldn’t help but be nervous about what this next step meant for him. Leaving you behind at school, while you knew it was bound to happen, didn’t feel any less shitty than all the times you’d tried to prepare yourself for it.
“You promise?”
Luke cupped your face as he brought your lips to his, the kiss nothing more than a longing peck, but enough to make your racing thoughts cease for even a moment.
“I promise”
-
But his promises fell short, and those summer’s at the lake house never happened. One trip to New Jersey was all you’d gotten, and soon enough Luke had become mostly a memory.
Text messages and calls were here and there, his schedule keeping him busier than he ever was at Michigan. You’d tried your best to hold out hope, telling yourself that he’d made a promise to you. But as more time went on, you’d begun to realize that maybe all this relationship was with Luke, was nothing more than a casual thing. That despite how much he cared about you, and all the promises he’d made, he wasn’t looking for something serious. That he wasn’t serious about you.
Making your way up the stairs of the hockey house, you’d noticed several familiar faces along with several new ones. The freshman players were easier to spot, as they reminded you of Luke on the night you’d first met him. Timid compared to the veteran guys who were screaming about games of pong and beer die that were set to start in the backyard.
You felt yourself growing a bit anxious, wondering why you’d come back to a house that held so many memories. While they were mostly good, they made you think of Luke.
Heading out to the backyard, you found comfort in the sea of people. Knowing that you’d easily be able to get lost among them, distract yourself from the familiar faces while you hoped the alcohol you planned to consume would ease your nerves.
Following behind your friend, you found yourself subconsciously snapping the band at your wrist, trying to distract yourself from any Luke related thoughts that crept into your mind.
Taking a solo cup from her hand, your friend began talking about the way the girls at the party seemed to flock to all the hockey guys as they stood on the back porch. The two of you laughed, knowing you once were like them. Drooling over the shirtless boys at the house, thinking they were the hottest thing on campus. Wanting to be able to say you’d gotten the chance to talk to one of the hockey boys at the party.
“Oh my god, y/n, please don’t look at the porch.”
Your friend reached for your arm, turning you to face her so your back was to the group of men on the porch. Naturally you looked over your shoulder as you were curious what she didn’t want you to see. But the moment you saw him, you felt your heart sink.
“Y/n, I’m sorry. We can leave.”
Obviously, Luke had every right to be there. He did go to Michigan and played hockey for the school. But you weren’t expecting to see him back since he’d moved on to the NHL. Especially not expecting to see him shirtless at the hockey house looking more amazing than ever. Girls crowded around him, all hoping to get even just a touch of his hand on their skin to be able to brag about for the next month.
Before you could make a decision about leaving, Luke’s attention had turned in your direction. Slightly lowering his sunglasses from his eyes, they met yours as he stood shocked to have seen you.
You could feel the goosebumps beginning to cover your skin, your heart racing as Luke began to make his way over to you. Instinctually, you headed through the crowd, wanting to be anywhere but this house. Luke set down his beer as he took off after you.
“Y/n, come on. Please y/n!”
His hand grabbed your arm as he caught up to you, stopping you in your tracks as you turned to face him.
“What?”
Your tone was harsh as you tried hiding the pain in your voice, but the tears in your eyes of course gave it away. Luke’s heart sinking seeing you hurt, never expecting this moment to happen, otherwise he might have prepared better. But for the moment, he was at a loss for words.
“I, I’m sorry. For everything. I know that’s not specific, but I’m honestly just shocked to see you.”
You laughed as you wiped your tears that were threatening to fall. Shaking your head you searched for the right words, trying not to start a fight in the alley next to the hockey house. People occasionally walking by, a scene not something that was needed, especially for Luke.
“You’re shocked to see me, on the campus of the college I go to? Interesting…”
“Oh come, don’t be like that y/n please! Look, I get it. I fucked up, in so many ways. The summers at the lake house, you coming to New Jersey, all of it. I broke my promises to you, and I wish I could go back and change it all.”
Luke’s eyes fell to the band on your wrist, watching as you snapped it against your skin. Hating that he was making you nervous or anxious, wishing that things could go back to normal for the two of you. But he knew he’d ruined that.
“Look I get it, if you didn’t want something serious. If I was just a casual fling or something. Then fine. But why waste my time? Why make me think you liked me?”
Luke grabbed your wrist, stopping you from snapping the band any longer.
“Y/n, none of that is true. It wasn’t that I thought you were a casual fling. I just, I couldn’t be the person you needed. With signing with the Devils and leaving here, leaving you. I just couldn't keep my promises. And it was wrong, to make you think I could. To keep you holding on if this wasn’t going to happen for us. And I’m so sorry to do that to you.”
You looked up at him, seeing the pain in his eyes, believing his words as you pulled the band from your wrist. Setting it in his hand as you nodded your head with a sigh.
“I appreciate the apology, but it doesn’t change anything that happened. It doesn’t change how I feel, how hurt I am by all of it. So, you can take that bracelet back. I can’t keep it anymore and think about you every time I see it. That was a promise, that I could think of you and find comfort anytime I snapped it or saw it. But, I think that I need to move on. Because it’s just another broken promise at this point.”
Luke bit his tongue, knowing that despite what he wishes he could say, you don’t want to hear it. Holding the bracelet tight in his hand, he watched as you pushed past him. Heading back to the party, leaving him with only the bracelet as a memory. Slipping it on to his own wrist, immediately snapping it a few times to calm his emotions before returning to join the guys on the back porch.

growing up as the only child wasn’t easy when your father constantly pressured you to be the greatest businesswoman to ever be raised. it was all you knew from the day you learned how to speak.
while your parents were married, they stayed in two different residences. your mother gave you a break from everything at home. that woman had a billion hobbies.
you had endless memories of how you would come to her house every weekend and rant to her while she would knit you a new pair of winter gloves.
cooking dinner with her was always a delight. you were a quick learner and she would even say that you were a natural chef.
with the more time that passed, you two whipped up all your problems into a dish and it always turned out to be wonderful.
this led to her opening her own restaurant. your father happily funded it, but he had no idea that the plan was for you to take it over one day.
for you two the keep the restaurant open, your father required it to be a fine dining experience. neither of you minded. this was the perfect way for you to share your passion to the world.
by the time you graduated from high school, you were the head chef at your mother’s restaurant. most of your time was spent there, avoiding your father the best that you could.
one of the waitresses spent most of her time there as well. it began to worry you. you later learned that her name was aeri and she was two years older than you. you believed that her pink hair made her the most beautiful girl in the world.
she studied business, working countless shifts to pay for the expenses of her education. it pained your heart immensely.
as you two grew closer, you offered to pay the rest of her tuition on multiple occasions. she never accepted it. she believed that she may take it for granted if you were to do so.
you found yourself incredibly drawn to her, even though you knew it was wrong. your father had been training you for one of two things: become the ceo of his company or marry someone that can do it for you.
your father arranged multiple meetings with multiple men once you revealed that you had preferred the latter. none of them looked any bit of interesting, though it was for one main reason in your case. you didn’t like men.
your father didn’t know this. you feared that he would have flipped out.
your mother was completely accepting. she loved you unconditionally and she expressed how proud of you she was. she was the light in your darkness, motivating you during hard times. she was always there for you.
that’s why your entire world crumbled when she passed away.
you couldn’t take the restaurant with the state that you were in. you couldn’t even bring it together long enough to walk inside of the place.
aeri was extremely worried about you. she visited you often, becoming the main person that you spent your time with. you found it too difficult to trust anyone else.
as time passed, you were with aeri more often than not. your father knew about your troubles with trusting people but he found you and aeri’s relationship concerning.
everytime it rained, you couldn’t think of anything else besides your mother. aeri was always by your side to cuddle you until everything was better.
it only raised attention once she began to purchase you gifts in any shade of pink that she could afford, ensuring that you would never forget her and her pink hair that you adored so much.
so once your father found out, he didn’t spare you one bit. he was heavily against the idea.
he felt like a fool. no wonder you showed no interest in all of the men that you met.
he was going to find a good outcome of all this mess — and he didn’t give you a choice once he finally did.
─────────
YU TECHNOLOGY CORP. December 17th, 5:08 PM.
today was the day that you would meet who you would be sharing a name with.
or what your father had reduced it to — a business proposal.
you were already happy with aeri. you decided to cut everything off once you found out the news. it felt unfair.
you felt like you were forced to let go of everything that you loved. first your mother, and now aeri.
even still, that wasn’t what made you the most upset.
you were getting married to the heiress of the yu family. the corporation was very successful, even if it were completely founded on exploitation.
it wasn’t a secret that most workers were not only victims of labor exploitation, but the company also obscured negative information while maintaining unfair competition. other technology companies stood little chance.
they never cared about safety issues, environmental violations, or worker rights nor complaints. it was the complete opposite of how your mother ran her business. that’s why you hated it so much.
it was even more miserable finding out that your father signed a merger agreement with the ceo of the company. the two companies would merge with yu jimin taking over both. you were mainly there to look pretty.
you wouldn’t complain about having nothing to do but unfortunately, you were stuck with yu jimin. you knew nothing about this woman but you disliked her name.
this would be your first time even meeting her.
“y/n fix your face.” your father ordered as you followed behind him to the conference hall. your face didn’t fix. you were unrelentlessly upset.
jimin and her father were already seated on one side of the long table. she hadn’t even looked at you. her lips curved into a smile as she eyed the marriage papers.
swallowing harshly, you sat down next to your father and mentally prepared yourself for the papers to be handed into your direction.
this was it. this was the end of your romantic freedom. after this, you and jimin would be legally married. the thought fueled you with rage.
“i’m so proud of you, jimin. you know what’s best for the family.” you heard her mother speak during their departure hug. this fueled you with even more rage.
then they left the two of you alone.
“my car’s this way.” she turned around to give you a quick glance before continuing on. the fruity and slightly spicy smell of her perfume invaded your senses.
she didn’t even open the door for you.
honestly, she intimidated you a little bit. her gaze was sharp and the way she carried herself around others made her seem like a big deal. you were intrigued but you were furious at the same time.
her hair hung loosely around her face, starting the car without sparing you even an ounce of attention.
“are you always this quiet?” she asked, reversing the car with one hand.
“are you always this bitchy?” you snapped back. jimin’s laugh made you even angrier.
“i’m not trying to be your enemy.” her fingers tapped against the wheel silently. “but i’m not trying to be your babysitter either, so you can drop the bratty act.” you rolled your eyes.
“i’m not acting like a brat, i just don’t feel the need to respect you.” jimin clearly didn’t like your attitude with the way her tongue rolled against the inside of her cheek. “we’re going to respect eachother, understand? marriage isn’t a one way street.” the sternness in her tone made both your legs and arms cross. you took it that she was one of the cold bosses that didn’t like showing her emotions. “whatever.”
the rest of the car ride was silent. you occasionally stole glances at jimin’s side profile but she didn’t seem to reciprocate your interest.
the size of jimin’s mansion surprised you. with the amount of power that her name had alone, you were expecting a castle of some kind but the mansion hadn’t been larger than your father’s.
it was very modern and minimalistic. it suited her perfectly.
an assistant was called to help you with all of your bags. you were able to carry a few due to how guilty you felt for the worker.
after settling down, you decided to look around a bit. from what you concluded, it seemed like jimin spent most of her time in the bedroom or in the workroom. it didn’t seem very lively anywhere else.
you were grateful that your bedroom had a bathroom attached to it. you would have dreaded sharing one with your ‘wife.’
jimin was in her workroom. she hadn’t even noticed you once you walked in. it seemed like she didn’t even care enough to give you a tour?
even though you had pretty much already explored the whole place yourself but there was something that seemed unnatural.
“there’s so much food in the fridge. do you cook often?” you asked, alerting the older woman of your presence. the frames that sat on her nose almost made her seem welcoming.
“ah, no. i have a private chef. his name is mr. kim.” she simply explained without even turning around. that made a lot more sense. you felt stupid believing even for a second that jimin prepared her own meals.
“does he live here?” your curiosity intrigued jimin. she wasn’t used to having someone to talk to most of the time. “indeed he does. it saves the both of us a lot of time. must you know more?” you just nodded to end the conversation there. you had no idea which room the chef was staying in but you were determined to find it.

THE YU FAMILY HOME. March 27th, 6:03 PM
you were only three months into your marriage and the amount of meetings you were required to attend was already dreadful. you were mainly only present to appease the public, but you could barely stand it. being associated with the yu family angered you in ways that nothing else ever could.
you already received attention for the rumors of you taking over your mother’s restaurant, but this was a whole new level for you.
every single time you two had to pose together, jimin always wrapped an arm around your waist. you knew it was just common courtesy but you hated the feeling. or more so, how it made you feel.
everything that she stood for was sickening to you. how could she just sit there and pretend like nothing was happening? the amount of lawsuits they were covering up — you had no clue how, but there were possibilities. possibilities that made your stomach turn.
so you hated how her touch lingered on your skin.
you summed it up to just missing aeri.
“did you hear me?” jimin’s voice pierced through your ears, ultimately knocking you out of your daze.
you shook your head, unbuckling your seatbelt.
“we have a business trip in two months. don’t forget to pack.” you just nodded in response, reaching for the chanel purse in the backseat. you had been so deep in thought that you failed to notice that it was currently pouring rain.
you chewed on your bottom lip in unease. you hadn’t brought an umbrella.
just then, your door swung open and jimin stood there with an expectant look on her face. “don’t just stand there and look like an idiot.” you looked up at her and immediately noticed the umbrella above her head.
your lips curved into a slight smile as you took her hand, shoulders touching with almost every step you took towards the front door. “thanks.” you mumbled, wondering why she just didn’t park inside of the garage.
─────────
THE YU FAMILY HOME. March 27th, 10:57 PM
the rain only became increasingly worse over time and you couldn’t sleep. even after a long shower and an hour of listening to the rain and patiently waiting for sleep to come find you. you felt like you were alone with your thoughts.
you scrolled through your phone, stopping at aeri’s saved contact.
you still never got to confess to her.
no word could come close to describing how you felt the day that you told her the news. it turned the two of you into a pile of tears too stubborn to let eachother go.
forcing yourself to climb out of the incredibly comfortable bed, you slip into the socks your mother knitted for you and escape into the hallway.
other than the calming sound of downpour it was completely silent. it was nothing unusual for your new household. except, something was different tonight.
a light was on inside of the kitchen. jimin was usually asleep by this time, so was it the personal chef?
you let the curiosity consume you, slowly making your way down the stairs. you didn’t expect the person to be awaiting your presence, leaning against the counter with her hair in a ponytail.
“you can’t stay asleep either?” her voice was groggy because of sleep.
you shook your head, approaching the counter so that the conversation could continue. “it’s too loud.”
jimin hummed, taking a sip from her glass. she looked like she wanted to say something but she chose not to.
so you opened your mouth to ask what she was drinking, only for her to coincidentally open hers at the same time to tell you.
“sorry. go ahead.” you smiled awkwardly.
“no, you go first.” jimin protested.
you let out a breathless chuckle. typically you would have continued to protest but it was uncommon for you and jimin to have moments like this, so you ultimately decided to forfeit.
“what are you drinking?” jimin smiled at either the sound of your laugh or yout curiosity. you couldn’t decipher it.
“it’s lavender tea. would you like some?” she offered you the glass with a smile so charming that you forgot to hesitate.
taking the drink into your hands, you took a swig before swallowing it after. “is it tasteful? i made it myself.” jimin asked you, leaning in eagerly. the sight made you smile.
“it’s yummy.” you nodded and she mirrored your action. “you could have the rest if you want.” she cleared her throat. while pouring yourself another glass of the lavender tea, you swear that you saw a blush on jimin’s cheeks.
once you were satisfied with the amount of tea in your glass, you decided to pour out the rest. jimin seemed to busy herself with her phone.
“are you returning to your bedroom?” she questioned while setting her phone onto the kitchen island.
“do you want me to?” it was silent for a moment, so you turned around to face her. the second your eyes met, a surge of nervousness coursed through your veins.
“no…” she shook her head, completely focused on you.
then she looked away, rubbing at her elbow. “it doesn’t matter. i don’t really mind.” you figured you would spend some more time with her.
“i have an older sister.” jimin explained to your curious mind. you both sat in her unmade bed with an entire bag of chips ahoy.
“she’s five years older than me.” she continued after munching on a cookie. “it was established pretty early on that i would take over the business. she’s into nursing.”
taking another cookie, her eyebrows furrowed a bit. “the chocolate chips are very rich.” she complained and you giggled quietly before shrugging in response. “they’re just not what you’re used to.”
“so, how old is your sister?” this question made you realize that you had never actually asked jimin for her age. you had looked it up on the internet, sure, but you wanted to know directly from her.
the woman cleared her throat before wiping her lips with a white handkerchief. “she’s 35.”
so that means that jimin is 30. that only made her more attractive in your eyes.
“jimin! this one has no chocolate chips.” you pointed out, taking the cookie out of the bag with a laugh.
“that’s weird.” her eyebrows furrowed. “should we eat it?” you nodded, bringing the cookie up jimin’s mouth. she quickly bit into it, backing away slowly as she chewed.
“it tastes the same.” she spoke monotonously.
“nuh uh! let me try it.” you impatiently bit from the same side, only to be met with disappointment. “i told you, y/n.” you rolled your eyes.
“perhaps that’s a sign for us to go to bed.” jimin wiped her mouth. with a sigh, you reluctantly slid the lid back onto the cookies and stood up.
you weren’t ready to leave her yet.
“wait.” she hastily stopped you by grabbing your arm. “where are you going?”
“i thought you wanted me to leave?” you asked, planting your knee onto the bed. her eyes flickered down your frame before meeting your own.
“you don’t want to stay in here tonight?” she didn’t release her grip on your arm, instead examining your features. she didn’t want to be crossing a line.
it was still raining and you probably weren’t going to fall asleep anytime soon so you complied.
she smiled upon seeing your nod, finally letting your arm free. her touch lingered on your skin. “set that down over there.” she pointed towards the black chair that sat near the corner of her room. “so you don’t have to walk downstairs again tonight.”
you obeyed, coming back to sit down where you were before. “should i sleep at the edge? or…” you questioned and jimin raised an eyebrow.
“the edge? is that where you would be most comfortable?” you slipped off your socks, biting your lip nervously. the rain didn’t seem like it was going to stop anytime soon.
“i don’t know…” you mumbled and jimin stared at you silently.
“it’s whatever you want.” she spoke. so you replied without thinking.
“can we cuddle?” she nodded, hiding the smile fighting its way onto her face. “come here.”
it was awkward, sure, but the two of you refused to pull away. her fingers traced lazy circles on your shoulderblade, appreciating the warmth.
the silence and the sound of the rain made your mind begin to wander once more. you enjoyed spending time with jimin, but you didn’t want to fall in love with a monster.
“i have a question.” you lifted your head to speak, loving the way her soft hum flowed through your ears.
“if you could work for any other company, would you do it?” her facial expression told you that she may have thought about it for a second, but it was no longer than that.
“it would depend on which one. i don’t want to represent a party that doesn’t care about any of their members.” she answered. “it sounds hypocritical for my situation, but there was no way around it.” her laugh was airy, sounding almost forced.
“but that’s besides the point. i answered the question, right?” she repositioned herself slightly, careful not to disturb you.
“hey. don’t fall asleep on me yet.” she pinched you, resulting in you letting out a yelp.
she laughed again, much more natural and genuine than the first. “sorry. i’ll let you sleep after you answer my question.”
you hummed in response. “is this your first relationship?”
the question had you blushing like an idiot. “could you tell?” your eyes shot open.
“a bit. don’t be embarrassed.” she chuckled at how cute you were. “i want to try with you. after all, we’re stuck here together. aren’t we?”
you closed your eyes, snuggling into her embrace. “we are.”
─────────
jimin woke up before you did. the bed was empty, resulting in you frowning up. you slipped on your socks before making your way downstairs.
the smell of coffee greeted your senses, quickly followed behind by the sweetness of jimin’s voice.
“good morning, sleepy girl.” she was already dressed with a cup of coffee in her hand. you pouted and she raised an eyebrow in confusion.
“i wanted to have breakfast with you.” you admit, leaning over the kitchen island.
she hummed, pouring you a cup of coffee. “my apologies. month end is always extremely busy for the company.” you nodded in understanding. “how do you like your coffee?”
“tons of sugar and creamer.” you pushed off the counter, coming over to her side.

THE YU FAMILY HOME. July 14th, 10:57 PM
your daily routine had changed immensely since you were with your father. once you finally took over the restaurant, you served chinese comfort food. it wasn’t easy seeing aeri there everyday. she still had a special place in your heart.
jimin typically came home around six pm while your work hours regulated. since you enjoyed cooking so much, there were days where you would work more than twelve hours and days where you didn’t go to the restaurant at all.
eventually you hired more managers and the workload became less stressful for everyone.
you two talked more often, though some days she would ignore your presence entirely. you wanted to understand but she confused you. it had been almost a week since the trip, and you barely spoke a word.
the first argument that the two of you had felt petty to you.
you went behind her back and told mr. kim that he could move out for good. but it was for good reason — you would have rather took the time to prepare something for the both of you.
jimin didn’t seem to take it lightly, though. it was the first time you two had spoken in days and you could tell that something was wrong.
“i’m not upset about you firing him, y/n.” she sighed, taking off her blazer. “i’m upset because you didn’t come to me about it first. i was the one who hired him.” she explained calmly but you could tell that she was pissed.
“i didn’t think i had to? aren’t i technically his boss now?” you argued back, perplexed by her lack of understanding.
“it’s a communication thing.” you scoffed at her words. “you could work on communication.” your arms folded against your chest.
“and why do you say that?” she questioned with a look that almost seemed concerned. “because you haven’t spoken to me in days, jimin. what happened to us trying this out?” you complained.
“i have never changed my mind.” she started. “but we’re two parties. communication is key in marriage.” you rolled your eyes, continuing to wash the vegetables for your dinner. “bullshit.” you mumbled underneath your breath.
she heard it, but ultimately chose to ignore it. “i need a shower.” she sighed.
─────────
you had just finished the beautiful bruschetta chicken pasta when you heard jimin tap the counter behind you. the air was heavy with unspoken words and it made your shoulders tense.
the circumstances of your relationship had started to weigh down on you.
“that looks delicious.” jimin spoke first, slowly walking to the spot behind you.
“thanks.” you muttered, piercing the dish with your fork to collect a generous amount. “may i try it?” she asked, leaning over your shoulder.
you brought the fork up to her lips and she took the portion into her mouth, adoring the attention that you were giving her. that was when she realized that she enjoyed being fed by you.
she chewed slowly, savoring the taste while her eyes never left yours.
your insides did multiple somersaults, causing you to laugh to yourself and look away for a moment. “is it good?”
“it’s really delicious.” jimin nodded, resting her head on your shoulder. “i suppose i could get used to it.” her hands cautiously snaked around your waist, not holding it just yet. “is this okay?”
you nodded in response, leaning into her embrace. you felt her shuffling around, so you turned to face her curiously. “turn back around.” she chuckled as you obeyed.
the first thing you felt was cold metal coming in contact with your bare neck, and once it wrapped around to your nape you realized what it was. jimin had bought you a necklace.
“there we go. do you like it?” you took the charm in between your fingers to examine it. a gasp escaped your lips as you fiddled with the rose gold van cleef necklace.
the tears came before you could even stop them, and the worst part was that jimin had no idea as to why.
“hey, why are you crying?” she was terribly concerned as you reached out for her embrace, immediately wrapping you up into her arms.
“do you not like it?” jimin’s feather-light touch moved your hair out of your face, wiping the tears away. you quickly shook your head, sniffling as jimin soothed your sobs with strokes of your hair.
“it just reminds me of someone.”

YU FAMILY HOME. September 15th, 11:39 PM.
you wore the necklace that jimin gifted you nearly everyday and it was proof that your relationship had changed over time. you two felt like newlyweds, even though you had almost been married a year.
but the amount of time that jimin spent at the office worried you. she was undeniably a workaholic.
there were times that you would have to practically pry her out of the chair, and it was looking like tonight was one of them.
her eyes were fixated on the monitor in front of her as she typed away at multiple different catalogs, completely unaware of your presence.
but once she smelled your signature scent her head snapped around, greeting you with a tired smile.
“jiminie.“ you mumbled and she hummed in response.
“i miss you.” you pouted, walking closer to her. jimin looked up at you, eyes silently admiring every single detail that adorned your features.
she reached out to grab your wrist, pulling you into her lap. it surprised you both but neither of you were against it.
her arms wrapped around your torso as if you were fragile, sighing as she breathed in the smell of your body lotion. the way she clinged onto you revealed how tired she was.
“you said you would come to bed ten minutes ago. don’t overwork yourself, jiminie.” you played with her hair. seeing her so tired but still pushing to get work done pained your heart.
she hummed, pulling you closer. “i won’t, my darling.” but you couldn’t bring yourself to believe her words.
“jimin.” you repeated, pulling away so you could get a proper look at her face. her eyes looked slightly puffy, making you furrow your eyebrows. “have you been crying?”
she smiled sheepishly, looking into your eyes. “maybe? i was just thinking. and the stress was a lot.” there was a moment of silence and she could feel herself getting ready for your scolding.
but as soon as you opened your mouth, her lips connected against yours.
you hesitated slightly before eventually getting into the feel of the kiss, cheeks flushing from the fact that this was the first kiss you two ever had.
jimin pressed against your lower back, resulting in you arching into her. this allowed her to pull you closer, tongue swiping against your bottom lip.
her tongue slid into your mouth, exploring it hungrily as she pulled your body flush against her own.
breaking the kiss to catch her breath, jimin licked her lips to savor the taste of you. the action only made you even shyer. “you make me feel better. you put my mind at ease.” she confessed.
you sighed, unable to fight the smile dancing onto your lips. “you just worry me. promise me to take it easy.” you held out your pinky finger.
she intertwined it with her own, pecking your lips sweetly. “okay, honey.” she loved the way that you looked at her. as if she were the most beautiful girl in the world.
“i’m serious!” you continued to scold her. “you’re the only person i can trust. we’re all i have.” your voice dropped to a whisper.
she hugged you tighter. your words meant much more to her than you could ever think. “i’ll take it easy. let’s go to bed now, mhm?”

TASTE OF CHINA RESTAURANT. November 3rd, 4:18 PM.
the highlight of your days was coming home to jimin, having dinner together before yapping about every little eventful moment of your day.
she stayed true to her word, avoiding overworking herself and spending more time with you.
and if she didn’t, you would come claim all of her attention until she did.
today wasn’t any different.
you hadn’t planned to come in today because jimin had kept you awake almost all night long. but one of your employees phoned you with some food critic talk, and you grumbled out of the bed you shared with jimin.
you were so ready to go home to her.
in fact, you were so impatient that you even failed to notice that she had left work early to surprise you at the restaurant. just a few tables away from the front door sat your wife, listing off the dishes that caught the attention of her stomach to aeri.
the sigh of relief that left your lips once you finally saw her even surprised you. “jimin!” you called out, carelessly tossing your apron and coming to sit in front of her.
her heart swelled with affection, fighting back the urge to pick you up in front of everyone.
aeri seemed to be taken aback from your sudden change in demeanor. you had been irritated all day but once jimin showed her face, it was as if all your troubles flew out of the window.
it irritated her.
“you can take care of mrs. yu, right y/n?” her voice was shaky and you stared at her with a confused smile.
her eyes burned holes into the necklace around your neck. she knew that she hadn’t gotten it for you.
“pardon?” jimin asked, searching for the possible reason behind aeri’s sudden change of attitude.
aeri didn’t care to answer, leaving faster than jimin’s next question.
“is there foul history between you two? she was so cheerful just a moment ago.” your wife furrowed her eyebrows and your heart began to beat harder in your chest.
“uh, no. i think she was just having a bad day.” you shook your head before chuckling nervously and she just shrugged. “well bring her back over here. she’s my server.” jimin crossed her arms. “i want to have a proper meal with you.”
you stood up from your chair with a clear of your throat. “i’ll get her.”
─────────
YU FAMILY HOME. November 3rd, 4:58 PM.
“jimin, just listen to me. please?” you followed her as she traversed through your shared home, walking to her office. she didn’t even want to eat out anymore.
“jimin!” you raised your voice louder, desperately trying to get her attention. it wasn’t until you grabbed her arm and forced her towards you that she had began to pay attention.
“why are you still hiding from me?” she asked you, running a hand through her hair. you had never seen her look so pissed at you before. “i left work early to come see you.”
“i-i’m not hiding—“ you stammered, trying to explain yourself.
“you’re hiding the truth from me.” she accused, hurt and confusion evident on her features. “you said i was your first relationship.”
“we weren’t in a relationship, it’s complicated.” the tears began to swell up and you didn’t know how to stop them.
“do you still have feelings for her, y/n?” she asked with a shaky breath.
you didn’t want to keep lying to her.
“i don’t know.” you admit and the way jimin’s shoulders sunk in made you regret saying it.
“okay. i get it.” was all that she said, sitting in her office chair. you wanted to climb into her arms, to kiss her frown away, but you felt so dismissed.
─────────
YU FAMILY HOME. October 3rd, 9:14 PM.
you had been crying ever since the argument, swallowing the lump in your throat as you pulled the baked lasagna out of the oven.
it sat alongside garlic knots and fresh caesar salad, and you tried to force a smile at the sight of your work.
you made yourself a plate, pouring a glass of lavender tea so you wouldn’t have to rely on your tears to bring you sleep.
with a sigh you tasted the lasanga, leaning against the counter.
jimin silently wandered into the kitchen, thinking with her nose as she eyed the feast that you had prepared. she noticed that whenever you two had an argument, she could expect multiple dishes to be in the kitchen afterwards.
immediately after noticing her presence you sucked in a breath. it was ten times more awkward than when you had your first meeting. the silence was deafening.
“you wanna try?” her mouth was practically watering at the sight of your food, licking her lips as she nodded.
you smiled, relieved that at least some conversation could still be held. you were gathering enough for her taste test when she inched closer, catching you off guard.
her lips pressed against yours in a gentle kiss, making you weak in the knees as you leaned into her more.
you dropped the fork back onto the plate as she secured her arms around your waist tightly, deepening the kiss.
the shared passion of your make out session left the two of you breathless with a string of saliva connecting your lips.
“i’ve never had to fight for someone who was already mine before.” she muttered, resting her forehead against yours.
“but i’ll do it if it’s you.” she pecked your lips as if it were sealing her promise.
“i think we’ve already chosen.” you smiled, cupping her cheeks. “i’m all yours, jimin.” she hummed appreciatively. “good.”
“i love you, sunshine.” she whispered. “i mean it.”
“i love you too, jiminie.”
