It's my 20th birthday.
Making friends was never a strong suit of mine, as evident by the fact I did not have friends throughout elementary school. I was that weird kid that no one wanted to hang out with. It wasn't until middle school when I met the start of the Caseus group that I started making friends.
Hundreds of people in person and online have entered and left my life since then, with few remaining consistent. While I still deal with the side effects of those several years without friends, I wouldn't change it for the world, given who I have now in my life.
If I could go back and tell my younger self, that we did succeed, I would. She deserves that assurance that everything turned alright.

I couldn’t add everyone onto this piece, some people I didn’t even know if they had a persona. I put the people I know IRL towards the front, with (mostly Tumblr) mutuals towards the back. All y’all have impacted my life in ways I never expected, and I am grateful for the bonds I have forged with everyone.
A not so complete list of mutuals and friends I have made here on Tumblr

Give Rashawn a fucking Emmy. Holy shit. Not even 20 minutes in and she is ACTING. This scene with Brennan, Erika and Rashawn is incredible. INCREDIBLE! They're amazing.
There are professional plays that have been written, workshopped, rewritten, rehearsed and performed that lack this level of acting and this degree of honesty.

Something that really shocked me these past few days is the clarification that it isn't a matter of ignorance for these representatives and world leaders — it's blatant selfish interest that motivates them to commit atrocities on a large scale.
I think a small part of me assumed that once people find out about who we are and what we represent, naturally love will prevail instantly and the Palestinian people will finally receive our unending liberation — but that's not what happened. We have Biden confirming the beheaded babies stories despite not seeing a shred of evidence and at the same time downplaying the reported number of Palestinian deaths and it's not that he doesn't know. He's President of the United States for God's sake. He probably has intel on what Netanyahu ate for breakfast, of course he can see the public videos of Palestinian children with their heads blown off. Its not that he doesn't know — its that he doesn't care.
It's fully just the complete lack of compassion and empathy — placing your own selfish desires above everyone else's and for what? Truly, for what? For a few billion extra dollars? To assure that a select few will survive even if it means alienating the rest of your countrymen? Who is he serving and benefiting other than himself in this situation? What use is that money if you're going to die soon anyways?
I can't comprehend the level of selfishness these people have, to sacrifice lives that he knows can never speak up against him. But that's "the cost of war," isn't it Biden?

people who misgender g3 Frankie while “critiquing” g3 designs and then ignore everyone correcting you in your comments, I’m swinging at you with my sword.
A popular media franchise makes a they/them-using nonbinary protag and it’s actually canon and they still can’t get any respect.

Been inundated with posts about the character descriptions in the 7seas mxtx releases, and I just wanna say that I find it the highest level of disrespect how a publisher treated someone’s serious writing that they bought the publishing rights for as a little jokey joke that’s lead to so many people’s misconceptions about said book. Tell me: why do these character sheets include publisher/translator opinions on the characters? Why do these character sheets directly go against what the actual text has to say about these characters? Why do these novels need character sheets?

I've been thinking about the tragedy of Elizabeth Woodville living to see the end of her family name.
I don't mean her family with her husband, which lived on through her daughter and grandson. I mean her own.
Her sisters died, one by one, many of them after 1485. When Elizabeth died, only Katherine was left, and she would die before the turn of the century as well.
All her brothers died, too. Lewis died in childhood. John was executed. Anthony was murdered. Lionel died suddenly in the peak of Richard's reign, unable to see his niece become queen. Edward perished at war. Richard died in grieving peace. For all the violence and judgement the family endured, it was "an accident of biology" that ended their line: none of the brothers left heirs, and the Woodville name was extinguished. We know the family was aware of this. We know they mourned it, too:
“Buy a bell to be a tenor at Grafton to the bells now there, for a remembrance of the last of my blood.”
Elizabeth lived through the deposition and death of her young sons, and lived to see the end of her own family name. It must have been such a haunting loss, on both sides.
