I have nothing against Kendra nor Kendratello, I think most of you have actually done a good job at being civil and to that I give my honest thanks. I personally do not like the ship because of my own headcanons and feelings but those are my own and shouldn’t stop you.

BUT what were not going to do is pretend Kendra is some how Donnie’s savior from the big bad 2012 april.

Like I need you guys to be fucking for real here. She’s canonically manipulative, befriending rise Donatello just so she can steal his gear such as his battle she’ll which ya know is pretty fucking important to him given his sensory issues and his soft shell. Used his fear of beach balls against him (which granted is funny as fuck ) and befriended shelldon to win a race and subsequently dumped him when lost and is just canonically a dick to friends/step sibling.

Don’t get me wrong she’s not straight up evil or anything’s she’s a hammy bully antagonist but that’s just it she’s A ANTAGONIST.

@lovelanguageisolate and I were cuddling and I called him (as I sometimes do) an ugly bug. And then, according to him, I started giggling and spontaneously told this story:

It happens that one of God's other creatures was the shy hippo. She lived in muddy waters and caused all sorts of trouble. As hippos did, she would trample people and break their legs, but then rush away because she was shy.

Once he was vaccinated, he came back to Seattle where she was going to bars and playing boardgames with his friends. And then he was in a great deal of trouble indeed.

why was Dooku teaching Ventress makashi anyway. that's his preferred style but it doesn't suit her, she should have been learning ataru imo

I have so many thoughts about her just in terms of her combat style... like she trained as a padawan when she was a teenager and presumably learned the basics, then picked up jar'kai when she was using her own saber and her dead master's. assumedly taught herself how to do that. but depending which version of the story you follow, she was either forced to be a gladiator in an arena before breaking out, or on a killing rampage driven by the need for revenge. neither of those things lend themselves to makashi, which is a duelist's style made for saber-on-saber combat.

maybe it's an overcorrection issue. Dooku picks up Ventress age 23 and agrees to train her bc he saw the absolute carnage she was creating on rattatak, and then she starts boasting that she's "entirely self taught" and "made up her own style of fighting" and oh god, she's clearly never fought a duel in her life and has abandoned the core principles all padawans learn, what has he gotten himself into. she's so good at killing and violence when she's up against a hundred people with guns but now she wants to kill Jedi and he's aware the second she gets near a Jedi she'll get her ass kicked, so we are DRILLING those makashi basics damn it

but fuck I love the idea of Ventress who is hard for Jedi to fight because she's good with sabers but entirely untrained in expected forms, impossible to pin down because she switches tactics on a whim and incorporates elements of unarmed combat when you least expect it. the same way a novice chess player beats a champ by deviating from known playbooks, Asajj Ventress will fuck you up by being an orphan with anger issues from a trash planet. she's not above kicking as an opening move.

anyway she loves jumping around and being aggressive she should have learned ataru.

While I will still be politicking on main sometimes, I am moving a lot of it onto a blog I'd previously created to describe some of the ridiculous experiences and situations that come with working for state government.

I bemusingly named the blog "Uncivil Service."

I didn't realize it was a future call to action.

So I will be posting HEAVILY about politics there, with maybe a peppering of ridiculousness for levity, but with the goal of increasing awareness of what the fuck is happening in the United States by sharing news, reports, videos, whatever needs to be shared that I find.
