I used to be very fixated on Ancano in 2018/2019 when I was a very young person! In one of my old artworks from ibisPaint, I made Ancano in the Phantom costume for Halloween as a profile picture.
(Dying as I realized I didn't shade the bottom half of the flower stem but I closed my art program already, so ha)
It makes me curl in on myself to look at my old art, but redrawing it was super fun. I have went through like 3 phones since that time so the only way I recovered it was through a OneDrive flashback where this is the only surviving picture. My signature was from when I was Ancano on the Elder Scrolls amino :(
Either way I had a lot of fun remaking this old piece, the young teenager me would have been ecstatic to see where i am now

Following a White House edict effectively banning federal employees from disclosing their personal pronouns in email signatures, sources within multiple federal agencies say pronouns are now being systemically blocked across multiple email clients and other software.
WIRED confirmed various automated efforts with employees at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the General Services Administration (GSA), the US Department of Agriculture, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The employees spoke to WIRED on condition of anonymity, citing fears of retaliation.
Multiple agency directors sent emails over the weekend telling staff that, due to President Donald Trump’s executive order, their offices would be removing the pronoun capability from Office 365. Employees were told they’d also need to remove pronouns from their email signatures in order to comply with the directive.
A staffer at USAID says the formal deactivation of their ability to list pronouns occurred last week, in response to executive orders defining sexes issued by President Trump on his first day in office. A GSA staffer says pronouns were wiped from employees’ email signatures after hours on Friday and were also no longer visible in Slack, the workplace messaging app. At the CDC, there used to be a section for employees to share their pronouns on their Teams profiles, another workplace app. That field no longer exists.
Reached for comment, the White House transferred WIRED to OPM communications director McLaurine Pinover, who pointed to January 29 memorandum ordering agencies to disable all features “that prompt users for their pronouns.”
The ban on personal pronouns follows sweeping efforts by the White House to eliminate programs that encourage diversity and social justice within the federal government, as well as other references to “diversity, equity, and inclusion” in federal employees’ discourse.
In a striking example of the policy in action, an image surfaced last week of a wall being painted over at the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Quantico, Virginia, academy due to it listing "diversity" among the bureau's core values. (According to an email from the FBI’s Office of Integrity and Compliance obtained by Mother Jones, the bureau no longer counts "diversity" among its core values.)
The Trump administration began a radical campaign last week aimed at inducing members of the federal workforce to leave their jobs ahead of threatened reductions. The effort is spearheaded by Elon Musk, leader of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a task force that has effectively seized control of several federal agencies and sensitive government systems with apparent clearance from the White House.
WIRED reported last week that Musk’s outfit had effectively taken over the Office of Personnel Management, the US government’s human resources department. In this and other efforts, it is employing inexperienced young engineers whose ages range from 19 to 24—many of whom, public records show, are former interns or have been affiliated with Musk-aligned companies.
OPM emailed federal workers on January 28 with a “deferred resignation offer,” sparking widespread confusion among federal workers. (DOGE’s own new HR chief was unable to answer basic questions about the offer in a contentious staff meeting last week, WIRED reported.) In an email to staff Sunday evening, OPM clarified whether the deferred resignation program complied with existing privacy laws. “Yes,” read the answer. “The deferred resignation program uses only basic contact information about federal employees, like name and government address, along with short, voluntary email responses. The information is stored on government systems. To the extent that the Privacy Act applies, all information relevant to the program is covered by existing OPM System Records Notices.”
Multiple agency sources told WIRED last week that several of Musk's lieutenants had been granted access to key computer systems controlled by the GSA, an independent agency tasked by Congress with overseeing federal buildings and providing equipment, supplies, and IT support across the government.

Hi dee! i know you said you hate talking about your major, but im going to college this year and I'm scared to go to architecture school 🥲 I want it really bad, but the way people talk about it makes it very unappealing 🥲
hi anon!!!!!!!!! ok ok so this probs going to be a long post, and I advise u to read every single sentencejzhsksb (under the cut)
ok so first of all, where i live, architecture school is 5 years + 2 years of internship = min of 7 years, then licensure exam. that is a VERY, VERY and i repeat VERY long time. and thats only undergrad.
architecture is a creative program, meaning u dont necessarily "study" to get by. there are a lot of theoretical courses ofc, and technically, u still need to study (and read a TON of books to know about design principles and standards and laws) but application takes up 90% of it. in archi school, u need not only to be creative, but u have to be strategic, technical, and be purposeful in everything u do bcs its a fusion of science+arts after all (im not kidding. instructors would cook u to hell when ur design is "perfectly technical" but NOT creative, but they will also stone you if it's "too pretty" but u cant provide a clear cut answer to a certain something's mechanism).
now heres the biggest con to me: in order to survive it you will genuinely have to give up a lot of time. deadlines are given to u upon deadlines. ur only lucky enough if ur prof is one of those angels from heavens above whos considerate enough, but theyre very rare (per my experience). drawing = solving problems, and in this program you NEVER stop solving problems. its very draining tbh, bcs every week is a 7-day stay in the deepest pits of hell of ✨conceptualization✨ . i know no one, and i mean no one in my program who has a regular sleeping schedule, and even the most excellent time manager will sacrifice sleep in deadline week (which is every week 🤩) you will get to miss out on hangs with friends, family vacays and the likes bcs submissions just wouldnt stop. also, college is the reason why i started drinking coffee and energy drink. its unhealthy asf but i gen cant function without it now when i have my exams season. i also discovered i can go on full 48 hrs without a wink of sleep which is. AGAIN. unhealthy as fawk. , you will really have to toughen up your heart bcs the profs will always be honest and wouldnt hesitate to tell u to revise your work, no matter how much u think it's ok enough. they will keep telling u to revise until theyre satisfied lol.
another con is that its expensive as HELL. im very lucky im getting by on scholarships and i get allowances from them BUT i literally cannot imagine spending my familys money on all the things ive lent to this program 😭 when ur in first year u will still have to go manual so if u do not have the art supplies necessary, you'll have to buy them and again. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AS HELL. and it doesnt end there bcs scale modeling goes on forever and its no joke. the materials are hard to fine (at least here) and their prices are ridiculous. then during higher years, you'll have to invest in a high-spec laptop (like gaming laptops) that will not give up on u under heavy use nvs ull be using a lot of software (that ur prods dont even teach you to work with 🤩 theyll jsut drop an instruction saying do this project in archicad and boom ur deep on 456 youtube tutorials which makes u question their existence in the first place but ANYWAY.
on the brightside tho.... its very very fulfilling, this major. architecture plays such an important role in our daily lives and it would feel really rad if we can be a part of that #beautiful thing. seeing the end of every project also pays back by teaching u handful of things. i also enjoy it when we get the chance to explore different building types like for instance my fave project i ever did was when we designed a physical rehabilitation center. ive never been in one before that but we got to explore it thanks to the project. also, you get to know people bcs u have and u WILL want to cater to their needs and wants – and as a girlie who wished she majored in psych thats the thing i love the most about architecture!!! it all boils down to people, how they move within and around space, and how u can help shape a beautiful & nice experience for them. its just a very very very interesting field
thing is, u need to be really dedicated if u want to go to archi school and survive. u have to be passionate abt it to push thru. if ur not really that sure abt it, i advice going against it lol. its just not worth it if its not smth u actually and really want (take that from me plsssjbsjxhsjwh). but if u really want to, then go! but just be really careful with that decision anon :')

Hey! It's A Great Time To Review Your W4! and other fun tax things they don't seem to be teaching in school. (detailed explanations in the read more)
Disclaimer: These are super basic basics. I'm not an expert. I've just seen a lot of people get hit hard and it really sucks.
Don't throw away your income documents.
Keep copies of your returns.
File every year you have an income.
File even if you're going to owe.
Amend your return if you realize there's something wrong on the original.
There's a statute of limitations on refunds.
They can use your refund for certain debt.
There are programs so you don't get dinged for your joint filer's debt.
You can request a rush on the basis of extreme hardship.
You can request a waiver for penalties/interest on late payments.
Know the basics for your area. Due diligence, right?
If you have a business, please be careful.
Review your W4.
Keep your contact info up to date.
If they send a letter, response immediately.
If you don't hear anything in 4 weeks, call/message/visit a local office.
You can file directly with the IRS now, and some states.
If you use tax preparation software/service, double check everything.
If you're expecting a refund triple-check your bank info.
If you're making a payment, triple-check it goes through.
Don't wait til the last day to make a payment.
Consider getting a registered online account with the IRS and/or your state.
Take several deep breaths.

Don't throw away your income documents. W2s, 1099s, anything that shows income and/or withholding. How long? Forever.
Keep copies of your returns, in formats you can easily access. Highly recommend a hard copy as well as digital, or at least available offline. How long? Forever. (I know there are statutes of limitations, but I don't trust that)
File every year you have an income. Honestly might want to file even if you don't - you can put all zeroes. If you should have filed and didn't, they can make an educated guess, and you might not like it. If you owe, they can add failure to file/failure to pay penalties that can really add up.
File even if you're going to owe. You can set up payment plans, if needed. If you don't file, the penalties and interest are insane.
Amend your return if you realize there's something wrong on the original. Audits aren't just for comedic effect on sitcoms, and as above, the penalties and interest are insane.
There's a statute of limitations on refunds. For the IRS, it's "3 years from the date you filed your federal income tax return, or 2 years from the date you paid the tax". States vary.
They can use your refund for certain debt. Child support, student loans that aren't on a plan, overpayment of benefits, traffic tickets…
There are programs so you don't get dinged for your joint filer's debt. They take longer to process, but you will be able to keep your refund even if your joint filer's refund is used to pay a debt.
You can request a rush in cases of extreme hardship. Eviction, medication, feeding children. It's not a guarantee, but you can ask.
You can request a waiver for penalties and interest on late payments. Again, not a guarantee, but you can ask.
Know the basics for your area. You don't have to be an expert, but the basics: Which forms to file, filing dates, how extensions work, if there are city/county taxes that need to be filed separately, if you need to make estimated payments…
If you have a business, please be careful. all of the above plus more. It can get so messy, and so hard to clean up.
Review your W4. Make sure you have the right amount coming out. Do you want to owe, get a refund, get close to zero? Make an informed decision and make sure your W4 reflects that. Highly recommend checking again in a few months, sometimes HR can be shifty bastards.
Keep your contact info up to date. If they need more info, they won't hunt you down. This includes if you move after you file. Phone number isn't as important, but address is.
If they send a letter asking for information, respond immediately. They will either not process the return, or make an educated guess based on what they have. Even if it's just to say "Hey, I can't get this document because _", they need something. Also - getting a letter doesn't necessarily mean there's something wrong. With electronic filing, they don't get images of your W2/1099, and they want to double check. Or there's an address/filing status change they want to be sure of. Or maybe you had an identity theft situation in the past. Or or or. Or maybe you are a "fraudster"!
If you don't hear anything in maybe 4 weeks, call/message/visit a local office. Sometimes things happen. A letter was sent but was returned. A manual review was stalled and just needed a nudge. Sometimes the return didn't show up at all. Also - when/if you contact them, please be civil. The person who answers the phone has so little control over any of this. A polite, "Hey, just wanted to make sure everything's good" will go a long way.
You can file directly with the IRS now, and some states. In some cases, you can even port your info from IRS to state, saving you the trouble of re-entering a bunch of stuff. Best, you can be sure it actually was received.
If you use tax preparation software/service, double check everything. Make sure the numbers look reasonable, make sure you know where their fee is coming from, make sure you know where your refund is going (like to a pre-paid card or your own bank), make sure you know FOR SURE if they are scheduling a payment on your behalf. Sometimes it's not obvious, and this can result in double-payments or worse. Mostly, make sure the return is accepted. Get it in writing. Don't wait two months to ask, when they are closed for the season.
If you're expecting a refund triple-check your bank info. If something changes with your bank info after you file, call.
If you're making a payment, triple-check it goes through. I mean so you don't double-pay. If you paid online, make sure you got a confirmation number. If you don't, call. Don't assume it didn't work and pay again. Even if you figure it out before it hits your bank, there's nothing the revenuers can do to stop it.
Don't wait til the last day to make a payment. If something goes wrong, if the check is lost in the mail or the bank is acting fucky, it will go badly. Preparation software is evil about scheduling the payments for the last minute.
Consider getting a registered online account with the IRS and/or your state. You can track your return, and also see letters before they're mailed, see past info, send messages, make payments, check on payment status, update info. Yes, the websites aren't great, but it gives you a little more control.
Again, not a Tax Professional in any way. Just don't want anyone to get fucked by Surprise! Tax Shit!

Still, amid concerns that the technology may develop algorithmic biases in hiring, Peditto believes that recruiters should be worried. “Good recruiters are more than just box-checkers and 15-minute screeners,” he said. “But for the people who this is sort of all they do, that can be scary, especially those early in their careers.”
The recruiters that are using A.I. are, in one sense, leveling the playing field. After all, some applicants, like Mayfield Phillips, who’ve been interviewed by A.I. bots have themselves used A.I. to boost their chances of landing a job by receiving help in polishing their résumés or tailoring cover letters. (You can even use the tech to practice your answers in mock interviews—a feature highlighted by Google in a recent Super Bowl ad—or have it listen to your job interview in real time and secretly suggest responses.) But Phillips, a 55-year-old IT project manager in New York, said he still found his experience this week of being interviewed by an A.I. chatbot, one also made by Apriora, to be profoundly surreal. Although he knew in advance he’d be conversing with an A.I. program that would listen to his verbal answers and ask him questions via text, he still had to schedule a time to chat with “Alex” (whose avatar appeared as a white woman with brown hair), and a preplanned interview had to be postponed due to technical difficulties the A.I. was experiencing. Phillips said he was also particularly frustrated and unimpressed after the A.I. was unable to answer a question he posed about what success might look like in the position.
