I can’t lie. I’m ecstatic at the possibility of my babies getting back together. But something about how it went down isn’t sitting right with me and leaving me feeling very uncertain about how this is gonna shake down from here. It didn’t feel like ‘ok, she made her choice, that’s done now’ - more like one more piece to escalate this (stupid ass) love triangle. The fact she stopped cause she was worried about Gabriel makes me think that’s not over and she’s not entirely sure. Which is so dumb! They’ve been building to this endgame/reunion since they broke up!
And I don’t know if that’s logical or just ole Glee OTP trust issues resurfacing, hahaha.
Also, I STILL cannot believe this show expects us to take Michaela and Gabriel seriously. He was 10000% using her when it started and only paid her two seconds of attention after Laurel caught on to his bullshit and rejected him. How is this a thing even? Still? Make it go away, please.

Not going to lie, I'm getting pretty worried about the fact that Connor is really happy this episode. I hope it's not a smoke screen. I don't think he's going to be the one to die (mostly because a lot of the fan base will up and leave) but I am wondering what will happen when he finds out he's been lied to.

So, Viola Davis’s real life hubby is gonna be guest starring on HTGAWM.
Interesting.
Although, if we’re being honest, I just wanna know when Laurel will find out her dad had Wes killed because Karla Souza is gonna bring it.

HTGAWM Speculation
What if the funeral we've been seeing for Annalise isn't real? We saw Annalise imagine her funeral earlier in the season as part of her therapy. At that point, she imagined her funeral as a cold affair where the few attendees were happy she was dead. What if, at the end of the season when she's in a better mental state, she imagines her funeral again, only this time it's full of people who are actually sad that she's gone. In this ideal scenario, maybe she even imagines that Wes is alive to give her eulogy. Then, instead of the Snow White case foreshadowing Annalise faking her death, it was actually a reference to Asher. Maybe Frank and Bonnie helped him fake his death so he couldn't inform to the FBI.
That's probably not what's happening but I think it's a cool idea.

i’mma tell y’all what really happened with wes mmkay. there are two possibilities. wes being dead, like we were shown, is entirely possible. but that also could’ve been a fake scene just to get us to go along with it, and wes is still alive and faked his death, while in cahoots with sandrine and dominic. sandrine has been fabricating this entire thing since the beginning. she wants revenge on jorge for what he did to her following laurel’s birth, and she saw wes as someone she could use for it because of his connection to laurel. so she concocted this plan to fake his death and eventually pin it on jorge to get him in jail. frank killed dominic because he thought he killed wes, right? bonnie did the same thing to rebecca. think about that. also think about how much hype there would be around the finale of this season if wes shows up alive while laurel regains custody of their baby. could i be wrong and wes is actually dead like we’re supposed to believe? sure. but i really still don’t believe it.

Am I the only one who think it's weird that Asher has no blood on him in the flashforward while Michaela is covered in blood?
Here's my wild speculation:
Simon kills himself when he finds out they want to blame him for the card stealing, but the whole ordeal is out anyway, so Asher takes the blame so she doesn't lose her job and stuff. And that's why he's in jail, not the murder. Also because the others are on it

Okay, but what if Julie Barden actually was Bonnie's name? And she's seeing the shrink because she wants to finally make some progress rather than because she has some shady plan? (She has a shady plan, though, no doubt.)

I think who died was Simon because Asher thinks Michaela is having an affair and the only male ‘peer’ in that company that they know is Simon so he would think he was the one she was having an affair with. Oliver was there and witnessed it because he was helping Michaela/working there. Meanwhile Laurel went into labour and for some reason that I don’t understand Isaac is there too and he suddenly knows everyone else besides Annalise and Bonnie.
Um also where is Connor? I just need a confirmation that he’s okay

The characters enjoying the quiet of this transitional period will likely be Connor and Oliver, and Asher and Michaela. Both couples have an opportunity to navigate the new stages of their relationships following Oliver's marriage proposal and Michaela's statement of reciprocated love to Asher in the Season 3 finale — at least until they're swept into this season's death and deceit.

So here's my speculation about the "movie": since JD never saw a trend he didn't try to copy and copy badly (eg season 5A starting with a flashback cause HTGAWM just did that) and the biggest movie right now is Spiderman and this movie has got no Stiles and this fool could NEVER get Michael J Fox, what are the odds that JD does parallel universes, hires Jerry Levine and promotes that 'Stiles' is in the movie! (and maybe even Mark Arnold as alt!Derek even tho he wasn't 'Derek' in the og movie)
I would SCREAM! 😂

You know, i’m beginning to feel the vibe that Wes is gonna make a surprise appearance right at the end of the season finale even more than ever. The hints are there with his body being gone, which i think was a life-like dummy.

Why being a Larrie is never "harmless"
A few months ago, I was having a conversation with a friend of mine who was a Larrie. She considered himself a "chill one" the type that would only reblog cute gifs and occasionally the "innocent" kind of theories, nothing more and nothing less. She had a very small blog with barely any followers, and Larry was just another thing about 1D for her. She didn't feel that strongly about it, she just believed it matter-of-factly. I told her what she was doing still wasn't harmless, she was defensive and didn't understand why I said that
So I did my best to explain to her why I believed that by using her own life as an example. She listened to me and when I was finished explaining, actually went livid and admitted that I was right. She wasn't harmless. None of the Larrie behavior was, no one with a blog or a tw or IG account propagating Larrie theories was without blame. They weren't just "innocently believing two boys were in love"
I'm copying, pasting, and editing exactly what I told her. This is specific to her life and her experience, so it'll have a few aspects that might not be relatable to everyone, but I think it can still have an effect on anyone that thinks their participation in Larry is harmless. My friend is Muslim and a lesbian, her family isn't aware of her sexuality at all, she's going to college in America. I wasn't trying to reason with her that Larry wasn't real (that would come later, and she would change her mind on that as well). I was trying to show her why it didn't matter whether it was or not, the speculation was still harmful, whether big, small, or anything in between
Imagine one of your college classmates believing you were a lesbian based on how you acted and other stuff. If he just talked about it with a friend over whatsapp or coffee then it'd be whatever, right? But now imagine that college classmate writing posts on tumblr or a thread on twitter explaining in detail why he thought that. Imagine if he used pictures of you (maybe that you posted yourself, or that your friends posted), if he analyzed how you captioned stuff, the words you used in class that one time, the company you kept, the clothes you wore. How would you feel?
I mean, he's right, you are a lesbian, but does that change anything? You can't have people that you don't trust knowing it, can you? And even if it wasn't true, you still wouldn't want random people to read that sort of thing about you, would you? Wouldn't it make you self-conscious of everything you do or say and how you do it or say it?
Let's add another layer to it. For some reason the posts your college classmate made about you get attention. He gets a ton of followers and one or two of them then start commenting "omg, you ARE a lesbian" on your instagram, bringing up what your college classmate said as proof. How would you feel then? I mean, it's not technically your college classmate's fault that these people are doing that, he can't control them. He didn't @ you or anyone involved with you. But he's the one that put it out there for public consumption when it was none of his business, so he's partially responsible for these people having access to laid out theories that wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for him
Now your sister replies to the comment "lmao no she's not" and then more people start reading your college classmate, who by now isn't the only person theorizing you're a lesbian. These people all agree that you must be closeted to your family, so they just tell your sister "well, of course you think she's not, but that's because she's not out to you, but there's all this proof, just look." And some other people might think that she knows but you haven't told your parents, so she's covering for you. So her denial would just be added to the pile of proof. Any action that you took against it would be added to the conspiracy on your sexuality. If you got close to a male friend, they would call him a beard. Your clothes would suddenly become either lesbian proof ("look how butch she is!") or proof that you're covering it up ("she's doing the femme thing on purpose"). They'd do the same with your hair, your makeup. They'd analyze your likes and dislikes, what tv shows you watch, what movies you enjoy, your speech and lingo, what classes you're taking and what classes you're not taking. Literally everything in your life would become fodder for this conspiracy. Every single one of your friends and family members that are publicly available would be pulled into it. They'd start to get harassed with questions about it. They'd be called liars if they denied it. Imagine people thinking that somehow you're coding your clothing to show that their beliefs are real, and that you're giving them a wink that, though you can't publicly admit to it, you appreciate their support because you don't get it from your family. You tell them "no, you're crazy, I'm just living my life" and people then analyze your body language and say that you're lying, or uncomfortable with what you're saying, or clearly showing signs that you're actually being covertly sarcastic. You liked one of Jack Falahee's ig photos, he plays a gay character in HTGAWM, that means you're subtly hinting that you're gay... People would get mad at your parents for forcing you to stay closeted, they'd start believing that they're doing you a favor because they're showing you that they support you for who you are
Wouldn't that be incredibly harming for you, with how your family is conformed and what their beliefs are? And aside from that, wouldn't it get incredibly exhausting to be scrutinized to that extreme? How would you feel if that happened to you? Wouldn't you be mad at anyone that shared any part of those theories, no matter how small their part on it was?
That's exactly what happened with Larry. Sure, they don't have religious families that will oust them, so in a sense, they would have less to lose than you in this potential scenario, but you'd have to multiply the potential attention a simple college girl could have by times a million. And even in the most timid Larrie theories, Harry and Louis are either not ready to be out as a couple, or could face huge backlash if it got out. The mantra of "we can't out them because we're just fans" could easily be applied to your college classmate and his followers, couldn't it? What's the difference?
The only difference is that Harry and Louis are in the public eye and, therefore, people are more interested in their sexualities and personal lives than they'd be of their regular college classmate. There's also a dehumanizing part of this because I think most people would feel weird making posts about how this college classmate of theirs is a lesbian, right? Even if human nature of gossip would maybe make it interesting for them and other people to want to know. Most people would never make posts like that, and even if some would, they'd called out immediately by others because "omg that's none of your business!" But somehow we don't give celebrities that same treatment. Just like you'd feel ?????????? if someone followed you around to get your picture or filmed you without your permission while you're at the gym. But these last two things, though they're still done to celebrities, are universally considered wrong and condemned. I just don't understand how the same can't apply to theories and speculation, and I don't just mean Larry, of course, it's just that Larry is so big and universal in this fandom that it gets to be an actual problem
Do what you'd do with your college classmates or neighbors and gossip with your friends on private chats or while having dinner together. I'm not saying "don't gossip at all" because that's unrealistic, I'm saying that people, especially if they consider themselves fans, should have some boundaries and not theorize over someone's personal life in a public platform where anyone can see and it can never be totally erased
I just think that when you take the "celebrity" aspect out of the actions, you can see them for what they really are. You wouldn't do that with your college classmate. The situation I just described is ludicrous and unfathomable, right? Like, just the thought of anything like that happening to you is ridiculous (and scary, I'm sure). Why is it okay when it comes to celebrities? I understand that speculating on that sort of stuff is kind of normalized by the media, but everyone should be responsible for their own actions and I can't excuse Larrie behavior under any circumstances. As small as those actions can be, and as small as their reach can be, it's still wrong. I would judge anyone that shared a thread of "proof [name of my friend] is a lesbian!" on twitter. I would think they're gross even if they have one follower. Even if they just liked one tweet out of a large thread. I don't see any difference whatsoever when it comes to Larry

Another thing
I want to also add that this Malec intimacy displaying bias is not something exclusive to Shadowhunters when it comes to lgbt couples. As I’ve said often I don’t think they do it with bad intentions, but it still shows that despite being a show with amazing lgbt, racial and cultural representation (one of the best in my opinion) they still have this problem.
Shows and films very often choose one of this two routes for lgbt couples: caste, assexual scenes avoiding to film their kisses or overtly sexual most of the times for “shock value. It depends on the shows’ target audience. I also want to say that lgbt people come in all shades and types, so it’s normal that they are displayed with different ranges of intimacy and sexuality. Like in hetero couples some lgbt couples are more sexual and touchy and others are less. That’s not the case... what I’m saying is that even though there are many types of lgbt relationships they only display one of this two scenarios.
This takes me back to another show... Modern Family. I haven’t watched it in years but I remember people complaining that Cam and Mitchel never kissed or touched... that they were portrayed like two old friends always bickering with each other. Of course that friendship and bickering are part of healthy relationships, but there was a clear avoidance on this. As opposed to Shadowhunters, the straight couples didn’t have makeout scenes because the show was “family friendly” and their target audience were families with people of all ages. So the discrepancy wasn’t so high, but we still watched the other couples kissing briefly or touching sometimes as opposed to the total zero touching, cuddling or kissing of Cam and Mitchel. So one day the writers decided to have them smooch one time on an episode to show that they weren’t biased or afraid of portraying them as more than too co-habiting bickering friends. I remember it was a big deal at the time (it shouldn’t though). I don’t know if they kissed or even touched each other in a cuddly way ever again, but this quick smooch was a once in a time thing to shut up the complaints. This show had other problems in my opinion like stereotyping lgbt people and other issues but I won’t get into that now.
We have also the other troupe I’ve talked about which involves the very sexual bissexual woman or the always horny gay guys. We have shows like HTGAWM which I need to catch up but if I remember correctly there were extremely sexual scenes between Coliver. Once again, there’s nothing wrong with sexual people and these people exist in real life too and it’s ok displaying them too.
But shouldn’t we also have something in the middle when it comes to lgbt couples? Can’t we have amazing written relationships with amazing dialogue and development (like Malec) and not having them avoiding touching or kissing properly and the overused trick of the fading camera after a few seconds?
With Coliver and Cam and Mitchel, on real life if I’m not wrong one of the actors of both ships was hetero in real life. It’s not the point, actors are used to portray several characters and so playing a different sexuality than their own and showing it on screen is not such a big deal for an actor.
I want that lgbt relationships are displayed with the same criteria the hetero relationships are displayed. No bias, no discrepancy. If a show chooses the family friendly route then it should be applied to all couples hetero or lgbt. If a show chooses having more makeout scenes and a bit more “adult scenes” then it should apply to all couples lgbt or hetero. Weather it’s the family friendly route or a more adult route or something in the middle there should be no bias in the display of physical intimacy.
And it’s not about sex, because shows like Modern Family which as far as I know don’t have sex scenes, still could have all the couples hetero or lgbt showing innocent casual displays of physical intimacy like hugs, a kiss or a hug here and there with no big deal. Same as with shows like Shadowhunters in which is not about sexualising Malec or having them have sex scenes, it’s about filming them and having them show physical intimacy with the same criteria they use for the other non lgbt couples. It’s not so hard and it’s not so mind blowing.
Of course we could speculate that these are demands of the networks or any other reason, but at this point it still makes no sense this clear bias on many shows and movies or this “only one of two routes” when displaying lgbt couples.

How to Get Away With Murder fans have really been shipping Aja Naomi King and Alfred Enoch.
We're talking about a real-life romance.
And Ms. King is doing nothing to quell the hopeful whispers that really took off earlier this week when King posted a pic on Instagram of her and her parents visiting with Enoch in London.
I caught up with The Birth of Nation actress last night at The Hollywood Reporter's Most Powerful Stylists dinner and asked if she wanted to clear up any of the dating speculations. After all, Enoch was photographed just last month apparently kissing a mystery woman believed to be his girlfriend during Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
"I would like to clear up nothing," King said with a big smile and a big laugh. "People could think what they want and I'm going to let them."
She then laughed some more. "He's a beautiful man and I think I'm quite a lovely young lady," she said.
Too cute—but what a tease!
King captioned the photo of her parents and Enoch, "Had the best time in Paris and London. Another great adventure with the people I love most in the world!!!"
"My parents love Alfie," King said. "They do. They do."
Getting used to hearing him talk in Great Britain took some getting used to. "It's so weird," King said. "When he was here, he would only speak with an American dialect. It's really startling. So when I called him for us to get together in London, I was like, 'Where are you doing? Talk normal. Stop speaking in this weird accent.'"
Love life aside, King attended THR's dinner with her stylist Tara Swennen. The actress looked perfectly chic in a butterfly print Roland Mouret dress and Jimmy Choo heels. She credited Swennen for "nudging" her out of her comfort zone when it comes to fashion.
"I'm such a sweet girlie girl and I like that she edges it up a little bit. She'll so some really funky things with me," she said. "Make it a little more va-va-voom. Make it a little sexier. It's nice."

Hey guys, as you might have noticed I have been offline for a while now (since before Bucklemmings episode aired) and I think the break was needed. I have felt a bit too tied to my computer lately (not just tumblr but work and other things as well) and this I think is one of the main reasons why in the past 3 weeks I have had two severe migraine attacks that have absolutely knocked me for six. They have given me a bit of an aversion to my computer lately hence my avoidance of it for anything other than work stuff.
This of course means I have completely missed out on all of the delicious meta and speculations over the past few weeks which is a shame, but on the other hand I have got myself addicted to How to Get Away With Murder which, if you have not seen this show WATCH IT. It is by far the most progressive mainstream TV show on regular channels (not cable or Netflix original series) and OMG I am in love with Connor and Oliver. Also (and I am sure that tumblr freaked out about this in 2014 when the show first aired) the main character Annalise is a powerful, BISEXUAL woman of colour and I did NOT know how much my poor bisexual ass was desperately craving REAL representation until I saw this show. (yeah I watch Orange is the New Black but Piper pisses me off). All this show has lead me to believe is that it is SO NOT HARD to show REAL bisexual characters on mainstream television, OR to show REAL INTIMACY between gay men on TV and not make a big fucking deal out of it. Jesus, this show made me kinda PISSED OFF at Supernatural really because while they’re still keeping Dean Winchester firmly in the fucking closet HTGAWM just laid it all on the table in the first season. Urgh. I hate Bob Singer.
I know, I know, I can’t really compare the two… except I fucking can and will. Because we are not comparing SPN to a show on Netflix or HBO here, we are comparing it to fucking ABC during primetime and frankly, the CW needs to up its game and SPN needs to grow some balls. Also if you need any other excuse to watch it Matt Cohen makes an appearance and spends most of his time topless and getting it on with one of the main characters. It’s glorious.
Anyway, I want to tell you all that I am back to regular posting and writing meta and answering asks etc etc… but I can’t make any promises. I need to see how my head copes with the computer for a little while and I need to take more frequent breaks, so I reckon it will be a slow come back rather than jumping back into the game. At least I have two weeks to get my act together before the next Supernatural episode airs. In the meantime, if you want to send me meta asks or anything please do, I can’t guarantee I will get to them soon as I currently have quite the backlog, but I will get to them at some point.
Thanks for all the get well soon messages from my last ‘personal’ post. You all rock and I have missed you dearly in my time off.
Please don’t reblog this.
Saz x

i still think “how to get away with murder” should have been an anthology, like black mirror. each season underlining -- discredit the witness, find a new suspect, bury the evidence.
the first season was perfection, and could have been just the first chapter of a show that depicts groups of random people who commit a murder and have to find a way to get away with it, with the help of a professional (ie: annalise levels)
every season would have a new cast; a group of students/strangers/family members who have to get away with murder. each season ends with whether they fail or succeed
#htgawm#because the season is getting tired#it should have been an anthology#how to get away with murder#speculation
