It's not finished and won't be on time (nothing with me is on time) but it's not a fic, just a cute little flowery post with the best girl!!! <3

You had encountered the husband and wife during a ball and you have to say, you fell in love at the first glance. Though the fantasy of being a close friend or more with them seemed impossible you couldn't help but dream and hope.

Little did you know what the future holds for you was unlike anything you could've possibly imagined.

The duchess, whom you found out to be called Ruby, had come to you one day with the intention of befriending you. The talk between you two was something you cherished because well... You do like her.

The frequency of your talks started getting more and more when Ruby started inviting you to join her in the many events her friends hold for her. Though you soon realize that these so-called friends were a bunch of fake, toxic men and women that just wanted to humiliate the duchess. Specifically, Lady Freya who you learned to despise.

But what you didn't expect was Rudbeckia begging Izek to let you in to their relationship as well.

Izek wasn't so happy at that. Because Ruby's was his. But he could not say no to his wife.

At first you and Izek could not get along like how you and Ruby do. But before long he starts getting attached to you like how Ruby does.

Now came to the point that they refused to let you go anywhere or do anything without them with you like supervisors so to speak.

Tired of their nonsense, you run away in the middle of the night. Trying to ignore the frantic beating of your heart that beats so loudly in your ears as you prop yourself to slide from the window.

There's an overhang but you bounce smoothly onto the soft patch of grass. You rush along through the trees, listening closely for the many guards that roamed these gardens.

You just about made it to the gates when a shout is heard behind you. The sound of Ruby's voice calling for Izek and his men.

It doesn't take long before running feet and rustling of leaves take to the night air.

You rush out, running as fast as you possibly could. But you knew it was a risky choice.

A hand grabbed your wrist firmly as the person pulled you to him. Your heart is pounding in your ears as you see the crimson gaze of the duke.

He takes you onto the horse with him, turning the animal around as you two head back to the castle where Ruby stands, worried for you. As soon as she sees you, a certain beam of light comes on her face as she tugs you off the horse.

Izek gets off too and you three head for the bedroom. You knew what would happen next.

"My darling, why did you try and run away from us?" Ruby hugs you, her cheek against your own as she pulls you close.

"It is for your own good, Name." Izek speaks suddenly as he steps closer. His hand moving to unbutton his shirt.

"Perhaps we can give you a reason to stay, don't we Ruby?" "Yes, of course!" A happy banter between the two is displayed and you could feel your stomach churning with nervousness of what they could possibly have planned.

"Prepare yourself, beloved." Izek whispers as he moves behind you, causing you to shudder at the feeling of his hot breath. "Because by the time we are done with you, you won't be able to walk for weeks on end."

"My feelings on" part 5. How to get my husband on my side and how it properly tackles abuse, eating disorders, and relationships.

Another super popular manhwa that I can understand why it's so beloved. The Borgias were actual people in history that inspired characters like the protagonist Ruby, and the title itself already feels different since the world of OI is all about being a perfect badass woman, funnily enough, HTGMHOMS does this better than most.

Rudbeckia/Ruby starts off with the behavior of the og fls that a lot of OI make fun of. She is surrounded by what appears to be loving family members and is already being prepped to be married of to Izek, she looks excited and ready to do whatever her family wants until her inner monolog reveals how she really feels about them especially her older brother Cezar. She hates almost all of them and her real reason for being excited for marriage is so she can get away from her abusive household and avoid death which shouldn't be hard since the transmigrator doesn't plan on poisoning her sister in law like og Ruby did. She's a master of hiding her feelings already which is attributed to her past life in a similarly abusive adoptive household.

Right off bat, Ruby is shown to be strong in the mental sense. Not only is she walking on eggshells she also suffers from an ED (likely bulimia), there a quite a few scenes where she's throwing up, refusing to eat a lot, or in later chapters, eating a lot more out of stress. Her family too is whole new level of psychological horror. They aren't cartoonist evil, for example Pope Borgia is usually kind to his daughter and treats her with respect until he feels like she's defying him, all of a sudden that kind caring nature is gone, then he becomes threatening, or her older brother Cezar who has been abusing her for years both physically and sexually, he keeps her in place through fear, intimidation, and attacking her on occasion which is only enhanced after he kills Rubys bird and feeds it to his turtle which gives Ruby a phobia of turtles. It's actually heartbreaking with how eerily realistic it is when these types of people are easily placed like normal family members in certain scenes, because that's often how abusive family members blend in, almost no one knows what they are really like and if you looked at a first glance without context, you'd think "Ah yes, that's just a brother next to his siblings." They're never truly gone, they just know how to hide their true colors so well.

This is why Ruby is so much stronger than a lot of people give her credit for, she's dealing with all of this at the same time and her only hope of respite is being as far as possible from her home country. It's easy to jump to the conclusion that Ruby is just a weak stereotypical protagonist everytime you see her pretend to fawn over Izeks presence but if you read further, you'd know that Ruby doesn't like it any better but she thinks she's doing what's right to avoid Izeks Wrath since she's the only one who knows what he is the one who kills the og Ruby in the novel.

Speaking of which, while Izek isn't my favorite ML ever, I still was shocked to find that I liked the typical cold nobleman persona on him. Unlike a lot of ML's Izek is allowed to be flawed and his negative traits and moments aren't brushed aside, they cause some issues like Ruby going out of her way to appear dainty and sweet so Izek won't kill her. He acknowledges how he has hurt her and grows from it and doesn't push her boundaries. It's possible for the cold Duke archetype to work but a lot of the time, the whole war hero past gets thrown to the side for baseless fan service or they're just unapologetically abusive. Izek however is in the in between. His cold and dangerous persona stays consistent but that doesn't make him one note and he gets to have geninue moments of care for those in his life rendering Izek to still be likeable.

Ive noticed that the narrative also makes sense instead of twisting itself for a stupid chance at a fan service plot. An example is Ellen and Freya.

An unfortunate sideffects from the fandom was on and off hatred of Ellen for considering what Freya had to say, taking her side or not even choosing a side at all. The readers know that Freya tried to get Ruby killed by tricking her into going into a monster infested forest or when she tried to frame Ruby for poisoning her, but does Ellen know that? Realistically she's not going to immediately turn her back on Freya since they were childhood friends along eith Izek but that doesn't mean she screams at Ruby either. Ellen does care about Ruby but she knew Freya longer than she knew Ruby. From her perspective, it' makes sense that Freya would be innocent.

But perhaps the best part about Ellen that makes her my favorite character is how she notices the little details on others. She's the first to find out that Ruby has an eating disorder and it's not out of nowhere either, Ellen and Izeks late mother also suffered from a eating disorder that Ellen witnessed more than once so it gives an explanation on how she can tell what Ruby is going through.

Side characters are treated just as well as the main cast too. From the other guards to the friendly monsters to minor antagonist and even the children are all given attention to be their own beings, it doesn't have to be a lot since most of what I mentioned are minor characters but then you got characters like Ivan who has a life outside of just being by Izeks side.

Out of all the side characters I gotta say the monsters are my favorites. It makes me wish there was a side story where Ruby successfully runs away forever and lives as a little witch with monster companions.

Of course like all media, HTGMHOMS has its flaws but I think I'll chill on this one since the flaws aren't large enough to ruin it and I want to stay positive on something I like for once.

Conclusion: This is a story that does such an amazing job with its commentary. Instead of just saying "Cezar abused Ruby in the past! Feel bad for her now!" For example, we are given actual flashbacks to respect the show don't tell rule. Other characters besides Ruby suffer from their own traumas and they get their own arcs on their hardships and how they recover from it, it handles eating disorders and trauma responses in a respectful way that has an actual effect on the plot. Most of all, it does all of this with the type of protagonist that has been deemed as "weak" before in the manhwa community. Ruby isn't a boss girl who is always successful and smart. She makes reckless decisions, she cries, she isn't always able to one-up her enemies like Freya. She's a human woman stuck in a world that's not her own but she still rises to the task at hand even with all her blunders. Ironically making her more feminist then many of the female leads before her.

Rudbeckia as Athanasia (WMMAP x HTGMHOMS crossover)

Okay so, here's another crossover AU! Okay first of all, this is an AU concept, not an original concept. It's A-okay to use this AU in your own creative work, just please credit me :) I've read all of the HTGMHOMS manhwa and most of the WMMAP manhwa, and I know what happens, but I have read neither novel. This post will include spoilers!

Okay, so, for starters, Athanasia's first life is the same, and second life is actually Ruby's second life. by that I mean, Ruby's backstory, where she had a lot of siblings, was abused by her family, and was killed by one of her brothers. Instead of her having read (only) the book about Ruby's story (I can't remember what it is called), she also read Lovely Princess. she is reborn for her third life back as Athanasia, and everything is the same up until her mana explosion when she's 14. She has the explosion, and disappears. Claude does NOT lose his memories of her, and no one is hurt. Claude is completely distraught by her disappearance, and doesn't stop looking for her, determined to find her.

Meanwhile, Athanasia was teleported to the Brittannia Kingdom. The Brittannia Kingdom and the Obelia Empire are neighbors for this AU. When she was teleported there, she tried to explain that she was the princess of the Obelia Empire, but the language in Brittannia is different from in Obelia. (think like Norwegian and Swedish, or Spanish and Portuguese; similar but not the same) The people who found Athanasia bring her to an orphanage, where she learns to speak the language of Brittannia. No one believes her when she tries to tell them who she is, because her jewel eyes became something she could show and hide at will because of the mana explosion, (like Jenette's ring) and she had yet to figure out how to show them.

Athy gets adopted by the pope (by the request of Cesare) and is given the name, "Rudbeckia de Borgia." (But she has both Athanasia and Rudbeckia as her names, think like how immigrants to the US will give their kids names from both their home country and English names.) Cesare is kind while teaching her how to read and write in the language of Brittannia, but soon turns violent. Ruby's only comfort is Enzo. Over the next four years, the Pope tries to marry Ruby off four times before finally marrying her to Izek van Omerta. It goes the same as the normal story, until The Festival. (I think it's chapter 80 or so, where Casare comes to the Omerta Residence)

During the days leading up to the Festival, Ruby had gotten a letter from the Obelia Empire, explaining that Claude de Alger Obelia would be attending the Festival. she specifically was informed of this, (as in she got a separate letter to the one sent to the duke) because the Obelia Empire has reason to believe that Rudbeckia van Omerta was in fact the lost princess, Athanasia de Alger Obelia. Ruby sent her reply immediately, disclosing that she was indeed Athanasia, and explaining what happened to her after her mana explosion (along with classified information to prove her identity.)

What will happen when The Obelian Emperor, along with a select few people such as Athanasia's nanny, Lily; Athanasia's guard, Felix; Athanasia's friend, Lord Ijekiel Alpheus; Athanasia's best friend and the magician of the black tower, Lucas; and some select guards and escorts arrive at the Festival party?

A bit more story stuff:

Athy/Athanasia and Ruby/Rudbeckia will be used interchangeably depending on context

This story is Izek x Ruby, not Lucas x Athy; Lucas and Athanasia will just be best friends.

Claude will become more affectionate and protective than in the original story, because he's nervous about losing Athanasia again

Ruby's only solace, a person whose soul possessed the body of Freya Van Furiana, the novel female lead, just as she possessed the body of Rudbeckia De Borgia, the novel villainess.

You both found out about it rather accidentally. By accident I mean you heard Ruby singing a Taylor Swift song 'Wildest Dreams'. After that, you had to take your shot and risk it all, but in the end it was all worth it, as you made your gorgeous bestest friend.

From that day forth one could wonder, how did you both got so close? After all, to those who didn't know the whole story, it all seemed as if you two just magically decided to be the closest of the close, like you know each other all your life, which kinda displeased Ellen. Which was partially true, after all you won't find a better person to talk to than the one who's in the same situation as you.

Ruby had a really hard time adapting to the ways of the north, so different from her 'home' ways. Yet there you were, guiding her through every step of the way.

Also don't forget making seducing Izek easier, by setting them the right scenery and without the original Freyas stunts.

Yet even when this feared Duke of the North, Izek Van Omerta finally fell in love with Ruby, which brought you both a peace of mind, the Duchess always felt bad when he showed her love and affection, as she had fallen for you.

When she found out, that your new family was abusive, she boiled with anger- No, shefumed with fury. That was the first time, when you felt completely terrified by your innocent friend.

Not to mention that the first words she said after your revelation was an order to get rid of your family's heads, with the exception of your dear brother Lorenzo.

After a few heads rolling and your distance to her, she tried to guilt trip you. She did so much for you, why are you so.. ungreateful! She murdered people for you, the ones who wronged you, and yet you're still avoiding her!

All she ever did was to make your life easier, like you did to hers! She just returned the favor and yet you're making it seem like she did something bad.

Ruby's lovesick lover instantly saw that change in his wife, her desperation. He waited, waited for her to open up to him, yet when she never did he decided to finally confront her in their shared bedroom, much to her's dissatisfaction, as she'd rather share a bed with you.

And that's when she bursts out in tears, screaming her frustrations out into Izek's arm, crying about how you're avoiding her, giving her cold stares, which you don't, and keeping a huge distance, while pretending you don't know her.

Next thing you know, you're forbidden from leaving your room and contacting anyone other than Ruby. She was the only one to communicate with, eat your meal with and the one to spend time with.

And you couldn't do anything about it, after all you lived in the Van Omerta's Household, where Ruby was the Duchess, and her husband, Izek Van Omerta the Duke.

You really should've expected that, after all there is not a single thing this man won't do for his wife. The consequences of your actions are gonna follow you for a long time, in your room with the reason for your 'arrest' always smiling happily by your side.

AAAAA RUBY'S SO GORGEOUS AND FOR WHAT?? There is so little works for this fandom, which saddens me greatly. Please behold the beautiful Rudbeckia De Borgia from the manhwa 'How to win my husband over' (100% recommend).

Iske Van Omerta

Cheeks, temples, eyelids, nose

I'd imagine him to be one who's fond of giving a gentle few pecks to Ruby's cheeks. A kiss to her hands or lips is plenty normal. But at times, when he finds her to be adorable or he's currently in the mood to tease her, he'd usually go for her cheeks and temple, sometimes even a light peck to the small of her nose to trigger a slight flush to her cheeks. A kiss to her eyelids was often done moments after he was awakened first in the morning as he looked for Ruby on his side, who's still deep into her sleep. He'd stay still, all quiet, as he observed her face. Sometimes smiling in fond amusement at the slight twitch on her nose or low mumbling of words as he waits for a while before begrudgingly forcing himself to leave the warmth of hers to finally attend to his duties for the day.

A kiss to either one of the shells of his wife's ears whenever he is in the mood to tease her. Something that's akin to a newly found habit of Killian that first started right after he found out that his wife's ear is one of her (if not most) sensitive spots, before talking to her in a low, sensual voice just to get a rise out of her. Kisses on the forehead or temple, meanwhile, were usually given as an affectionate greeting from him whenever they encountered each other while attending to each of their own duties within the manor. Though the kisses on her temple were specifically, more often than not, were usually accompanied by a tight hug and tend to linger longer than the former.
