Late Night Work
HTTYD Creative Week 2021
Day 1: Family
Hiccup has work to finish, but how can he resist spending time with his baby daughter? Rating: G. Family fluff!
Astrid’s eyes opened as she rolled over to find that Hiccup’s side of the mattress was cold. She knew he’d stayed up late the night before, but not coming to bed at all was rare for him, especially since Zephyr’s birth.
“Babe?” she mumbled, still half-asleep. When she didn’t hear a response, she climbed out from beneath the furs. At the feeling of the cold floor on her bare toes, she quickly slid her feet into a cozy pair of slippers. Wrapping a thick blanket around her shoulders, she shuffled to the window and pulled back the curtains, letting sunlight into the room.
It was then that she noticed Zephyr’s vacant crib. Although the little girl was nearly a year old, she still slept across the room from her parents, just in case she got fussy during the night.
“Hiccup?” she called again, this time raising her voice as she made her way into the hall. “Zeph?”
No reply.
Frowning, Astrid trudged downstairs. Just as she was about to call her husband’s name again, she noticed him curled up on the couch, fast asleep with Zephyr snuggled against his chest and an array of papers scattered about them. A smile playing on her lips, she reached over to gently tug the furs up over them before quietly heading to the washroom for her morning bath.
Hiccup groaned as he picked up yet another piece of paperwork.
Just give it up, Spitelout, he thought to himself, shaking his head at the realization that Spitelout had started yet another petition to put his name on the island’s storehouse. He had enough chiefing duties to worry about, not to mention an eleven-month-old daughter who was growing more energetic by the day. He didn’t have time to waste on muttonheaded requests.
The sound of Zephyr’s babbling was a welcome distraction from his work. Setting the papers aside, he trudged over to her crib and lifted her into his arms. “Hey, munchkin,” he murmured. “What’s going on?”
Zephyr babbled again, this time reaching up to tug on Hiccup’s braids.
“Can’t sleep?” he guessed, leaning down to kiss her forehead. He thought about waking Astrid to see if Zephyr wanted to nurse, but decided not to bother her once he noticed that she appeared to be peacefully snoozing amongst the covers, a contented look on her face.
“How about Daddy makes you a little midnight snack?” he suggested, turning to leave the room. Although Zephyr still sometimes nursed at night, or on the rare occasions when she was particularly fussy, she was more or less weaned, and eating mainly soft foods that Hiccup and Astrid either mashed or cut into bite-sized pieces.
The little girl smiled with a partially toothless version of her mother’s smile.
Hiccup carried his daughter into the kitchen and, placing her in the high chair, rummaged through the icebox for berries and ice cream. He knew Zephyr shouldn’t be eating sugar so late at night, but she’d been so excited about the ice cream ever since he’d first churned it a few days ago, he couldn’t resist the thought of seeing her face light up with excitement. Besides, he could use a little sugar rush to fuel him through the rest of his paperwork.
“You want some?” Hiccup asked, holding out a small spoonful of ice cream.
Zephyr eagerly grabbed the handle from his fist and shoved the spoon into her mouth, ice cream falling down her chin.
“You like that, huh?” he grinned, leaning over to ruffle her already messy hair.
The little girl reached out a sticky hand and babbled, evidentially asking for more.
Grabbing a bowl, Hiccup mashed a few berries and scooped out a small helping of ice cream before fixing his own serving. “Here you go, Zeph,” he said, passing her the dessert.
Zephyr let out an excited squeal.
“I know, I know, you’re happy. But shhh, don’t be too loud. We don’t wanna wake up Mama.”
After the two finished their ice cream, Hiccup quickly washed the dishes, lifted Zephyr into his arms, and carried her upstairs to fetch his paperwork. Taking care not to disturb Astrid, he blew out the candles and shuffled to the living room, where he settled onto the couch and placed the little girl in his lap.
Zephyr grabbed the bottom of the parchment and tore them, giggling.
“Zephyr!” Hiccup quietly scolded, bringing the papers out of her reach. “Why would you do that?” Despite his frustration, his tone remained calm.
The little girl offered a smile.
“I think it’s time for you to get back to bed,” he decided, standing up and settling her onto his hip.
Rubbing her eyes, Zephyr whimpered.
“See, you’re getting grumpy,” Hiccup remarked, kissing the top of her head.
“Dada,” the baby insisted. She tugged on her father’s tunic and pointed to the couch.
Hiccup let out a sigh. “Fine, you can stay with Daddy. But only if you actually sleep.” He turned around and grabbed some furs before settling back onto the cushions and cuddling Zephyr against his chest.
The little girl cooed in satisfaction as she nestled into the furs.
“Mama will be disappointed I didn’t come to bed,” Hiccup continued. “But Thor forbid I bring you in with us. We both know she doesn’t let you spend the night with her anymore. She says you’re a big girl now, and you are, but Daddy wants to spend as much time with you as possible before you reach the age where I’m an embarrassment to you.”
Zephyr closed her eyes.
“I know, I know, I talk too much.” Hiccup tugged up the covers.
The baby let out a small grunt.
“You okay, Zeph?” He looked into her face to find that she was already drifting off to sleep. “Goodnight,” he whispered, pressing a kiss against her forehead. “I love you.”
As she continued to fall asleep, Zephyr grabbed a chunk of Hiccup’s tunic in her little fist and curled closer to him, causing a wide grin to light up his face.
Zephyr might not have been a replacement for Toothless, who he still thought about every day, but she was one of the greatest blessings the gods could have given him. Her bright blue eyes, her feisty personality that was already so much like Astrid’s, her adorable giggle. Yes, he was definitely blessed to have her as his daughter, and as he waited for sleep to overtake him, he thanked Freja for giving him such a special gift.
Hiccup opened his eyes as he felt Zephyr stir on his chest, signaling she was awake. Turning his face towards the window, he squinted as the sunshine hit him, prompting him to rise. It was already past dawn, and Astrid was probably already awake and wondering where the rest of her family was.
“Morning, babe!”
He grinned as he saw his wife descending the stairs, dressed and ready for the day. “Morning, milady,” he returned, making his way over to kiss her. “Sleep well without me?”
Astrid offered a small smile. “I suppose so,” she said, holding out her arms to take the baby. “And good morning to you, Zeph. You were down here with Daddy all night, huh?”
“She’s a great daughter, but a bad helper,” chuckled Hiccup, gesturing to the papers that still lay scattered over the floor.
“She’ll learn,” Astrid laughed. She pressed a kiss against Zephyr’s head. “Won’t you, sweetie?”
Zephyr cooed as she stuffed a fist into her mouth.
“Hungry?” the blonde guessed.
The little girl babbled in response.
“Well, why don’t you come cuddle with Mama while Daddy cooks something for us?”
Hiccup’s eyes widened. “What? Why me?”
“Come on, babe,” Astrid teased, delivering a gentle slap to his chest. “We all know you’re the better cook.”
“Yeah, uh…sure, but you—”
“Eggs and bacon would be great,” she cut in, winking as she turned towards her favorite chair.
Hiccup smirked. “And what do I get in exchange for this?”
“Meet me in the storehouse at three.”

HTTYD Creative Week Day 1: Family
Company
Rated: general
Warnings: none
Pairings: none
Word Count: 491
Summary: It’s a rainy day on the isle of Berk, and the chief and his son decide to stay inside and spend some quality time together.
@httydcreativeweek2021
The scratch of charcoal on paper, the small, but deep scrapes of a knife on wood. Hiccup and Stoick sat at their dining table together, both working on separate projects, appreciating each other’s company despite the silence.
Hiccup was working on a drawing of Astrid. Gods, her face was beautiful. That’s what he was focusing most of his work on: her beautiful face and her lovely hair. He’d made a mistake on the previous page, but that was okay. That was practice. Paper could be expensive sometimes, but Hiccup still didn’t see it as a waste.
Stoick was working on making a set of toys for a new baby that had just been born in the village. Currently, he was carving a Gronckle. He’d thought of doing a Deadly Nadder, but the edges would be too pointy for a baby. A Gronckle was just perfect.
Toothless lay by the fire, tail over his nose. Every once in a while, he would move his tail, take a look at Hiccup and Stoick to make sure they were still there, and then go back to dozing.
It was raining outside, so it was a good day to stay indoors and work on hobbies. There wasn’t much to do around the village today. So, Hiccup and Stoick just stayed indoors and appreciated each other’s company.
“Dad, how’s that Gronckle coming along?” Hiccup asked, taking a break to scratch at his head with the end of the charcoal pencil.
“Really good, I think,” Stoick responded. He held the Gronckle out to show Hiccup. It had its basic shape, and Stoick was going to begin working on some of the details. “What do you think?”
“I think I’d like to paint it after,” Hiccup said. “If that’s alright with you.” He had some small brushes he could use for it. It wasn’t very big, being given to a baby and all.
Stoick chuckled a little, nodded. “Yeah, sure. Are you going to paint all the toys I’m making for this child?”
“Maybe,” Hiccup said. He liked painting, hadn’t done it in a little bit.
Stoick set down his knife for the moment, opened and closed his hand to get the muscles to uncramp. Hiccup was familiar with that exercise himself. Sometimes his hand cramped while drawing.
“May I see what you’re working on?” Stoick asked.
Hiccup blushed a little, but showed his father anyway. Stoick smiled and nodded at the picture of Astrid. The two weren’t officially together, had only kissed a few times, but Stoick understood how Hiccup felt for her.
“Very good, Hiccup,” Stoick responded. “I like it.”
“Thank you.” Hiccup turned the sketchbook back to himself. He stuck his tongue between his teeth, continued working.
Silence fell save for the crackle of the fire and Stoick resuming his own work. Rain pattered on the roof, and Toothless slumbered. There wasn’t much happening today, but Hiccup appreciated spending this quality time with his father.

Motherhood
HTTYD Creative Week 2021
Day 2: Questions
While Hiccup is away, Astrid begins to question whether she’s a good mother. Rating: G.
“Why?”
Astrid rolled her eyes as Zephyr questioned her instructions for the third time in a row. “Because you can’t leave your dirty dishes on the table.”
“But why?”
“For the love of Thor, Zephyr, just put your dishes in the sink!” snapped Astrid, lifting a fussy Nuffink out of his high chair and grabbing his favorite blanket.
Shrugging, the little girl climbed down from her seat and placed her bowl and spoon on the counter.
“That’s not the sink,” Astrid reprimanded as she turned to walk out of the kitchen.
“Why do I need to put them in the sink, Mama? They’re okay right here.’
Biting back a curse, the blonde carried Nuffink to her bedroom and placed him in his crib. “There you go,
little one. Enjoy your nap.” She bent down to press a kiss against his forehead. “I love you.”
Whimpering, the toddler reached out a hand towards his mother.
“Fine,” sighed Astrid, picking up Nuffink and settling him against her chest as she climbed onto her mattress.
Having Hiccup away at tribe meetings had always been rough for her, but having him away while she had two children under five to care for, one of whom wouldn’t stop asking questions about everything, made his trips even harder.
“Mama, where are you?” Zephyr’s small voice drifted up the stairs.
Cautiously sliding off the bed, taking care not to disturb Nuffink, Astrid shuffled into the hall. “I’m sitting with your brother,” she explained in a hushed voice.
“Well, I’m bored. I want you to play dragons with me.”
“I can’t, Zeph,” sighed Astrid, rubbing Nuffink’s back as he stirred.
The little girl crossed her arms over her chest. “Daddy always plays dragons with me when I ask,” she insisted. “Why can’t you?”
Astrid struggled to suppress her emotions. She’d always had a feeling that Hiccup was Zephyr’s favorite, but hearing her daughter actually compare her to him hurt, even if she was only four years old.
“Why?” repeated Zephyr.
“Mama’s busy,” the blonde explained, keeping her voice steady. “Maybe I can play in a little while, after Nuffink wakes up.”
Frowning, Zephyr plopped onto the couch and folded her arms over her chest.
As Astrid walked back into her room, a wave of guilt washed over her. She was perfectly okay with the kids when they were babies; that was the easy phase. All she had to do was feed them, cuddle them, and change their diapers. But with Zephyr, she almost felt as if she didn’t know how to be a good mother anymore, now that there was more to it than nursing and snuggling.
“At least you’re still easy,” she murmured to Nuffink, who was still comfortably resting on her chest.
Two days later, Hiccup arrived home, weary from his journey, but happy to be reunited with his family. While he liked getting a chance to catch up with old friends like Dagur and Alvin, Astrid and the kids were the most important people in his life, and he felt a sense of emptiness when they were apart.
“How was everything while I was away?” he asked, kissing Astrid’s lips before lifting both Zephyr and Nuffink into his arms.
“Mama didn’t play dragons with me!” Zephyr complained, wrapping her arms around Hiccup’s neck.
Astrid sighed. “It was…okay,” she answered, pretending to ignore her daughter’s comment.
“That okay didn’t sound very convincing,” Hiccup began as he walked upstairs with his wife, each of them lugging one of his travel bags.
“Am I a bad mother?”
“What?” Eyes widening, the Chief raised an eyebrow. “Why would you be a bad mother?”
Pushing her hair out of her face, Astrid sank onto the bed. “I just…you’re so good with the kids…and sensitive…and patient…especially with Zephyr, and I can hardly balance spending enough time with both of them and running the island when you’re not here.”
Hiccup eased himself down beside her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “Hey, just because parenting is a little harder for you, doesn’t mean you’re not good at it.”
The blonde didn’t reply.
“Look at my mom. I don’t know if she ever told you, but she had a hard time with me when I was a baby. That’s why she didn’t bring me with her when she left; she was afraid she wouldn’t be a good enough mother to parent me by herself. But I’m close to her now, and she certainly hasn’t been doing a bad job since she came back.”
“I don’t know,” Astrid shrugged. “I just feel like I’m failing. I mean, Zephyr clearly hates me already and she’s only four.”
“She doesn’t hate you,” smiled Hiccup. “She might act like a spoiled Daddy’s girl sometimes, but she doesn’t hate you.”
“Yeah, right.”
“I’m serious,” he insisted, pressing a kiss against her cheek. “Zeph loves you. Both the kids do. And you’re an amazing mom.”
Astrid rested her head against his shoulder. “But if there was a contest, you’d still win parent of the year.”
“Don’t say that. We’d both win.” Hiccup grinned. “And I’ll talk to Zephyr about how she’s been treating you. Maybe she just needs a little nudge in the right direction.”
The next morning, Astrid awoke to the smell of her favorite breakfast — scrambled eggs with cheese and fried potatoes. Climbing out of bed, she put on a cozy robe and shuffled downstairs to see Hiccup standing in the kitchen with Zephyr.
“Is today a special occasion or something?” the blonde asked, her eyes narrowing.
“Today is Mama Appreciation Day,” announced Hiccup.
“And I made you a drawing!” Zephyr chimed in, running to her room. A moment later, she returned with a sheet of paper, which she proudly handed to Astrid.
Astrid studied the drawing. Although it was largely composed of scribbles and stick figures, she could still make out the image of herself hugging a smiling Zephyr. “Good job, sweetie!” she complimented.
“Turn it around!” the little girl shouted. “Daddy helped me write you a note!”
Flipping the page to the other side, Astrid read:
You are the best Mama in the archipelago. I love you.
Zephyr
“Babe,” Astrid began cautiously, turning towards her husband. “Did she come up with this, or did you?”
Hiccup paused. “I uh…I’d rather not answer that, milady. I —”
“You are the best Mama!” Zephyr interrupted, flinging her little arms around Astrid’s waist. “I don’t want to have any other Mama but you.”
The blonde felt her heart melt as she lifted Zephyr up and settled her on her hip. “And I don’t want to have any other daughter but you,” she smiled. “I’d also love to play dragons with you after breakfast.”
Zephyr grew thoughtful. “Actually, I want to go axe-throwing.”
Astrid’s eyes widened as she cast Hiccup a puzzled glance.
The Chief shrugged. “She is your child.”
“Yes, she is,” Astrid said, hugging Zephyr close. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“There is nothing more important than communication, so you must build your skills together. But consistency is key! Don't mix your signals, and take on one task at a time!” Valka went on, “Steering is the very foundation-”
Yes, they could manage that thank you very much. He tuned her out, at least until they passed beyond the cliffs and dove lower, to another forest of sea stacks. These were bigger, but more widely spread, a game compared to the Kraken’s Arms. Cloudjumper forged ahead, dropping so low his wingtips sliced the waves through the center of a great stone arch, and Valka waved for them to follow. Cassian rolled his eyes, but did as he was told. Couldn't afford to ruffle any feathers, especially not on someone so close to the chief, on the first full day. He could complain later.

To Bond (AO3)
Warnings: noncon themes
Description: Dagur’s been waiting, he’s been plotting, it’s all been figured out. Hiccup Haddock is his soulmate and he’s found the perfect way to use it against him. (For the @httydcreativeweek2021 )
Everyone had one, someone they would forever be bond to, a soulmate. Some were just friends, some were more, but everyone had to learn how to survive and live with their soulmate. The consequences for staying away too long were unpleasant at best.
Everyone also had a different connection to their soulmate. Some had physical things such as markings on their skin to identify them. Others had red strings that only they could see. A few people shared dreams. It wasn’t unheard of to have multiple connections to one’s soulmate.
Many would say Dagur was lucky to be connected to his soulmate on such a level. He would call it a helpful curse. He was eighteen when he was thrown in jail. It meant he’d be stuck in one place when he formed his soulmate connection and upon figuring out who it had been, he hated them more. Though he had laughed when he found out, not from amusement, but because he had known. He had always known that this is what the gods would do to him.
They shared thoughts or rather some of the more emotionally invoked ones. Dagur was forced to have to wait for three more years for his soulmate to realize that the two of them were bound for the rest of their lives. Oh, how he wished to be there to see the look on his face as recognized the voice in his head.
If it had been hatred he felt for Hiccup Haddock when the boy had betrayed him, it was unfettered fury he held towards him now. Though, he knew it wasn’t his fault. This was a sick trick made by Freyja. To know they’d hate on another, only to tie them together with a connection that normally involved love. However, those were her specialties, love and battle. Perhaps, in her eyes, they would be a special, sacred case.
When he saw Hiccup again, he’d have so much fun. He knew. Even if seeing him brought along the horrible side effects of separation sickness. It’d just be for a few days, he could deal with several days of pain to watch as Hiccup Haddock finally squirmed once more under his gaze, under his touch. To see him after they both knew their fate, to see the fear that would come to his face. It would all be worth whatever symptoms he’d had to face.
That’s what he told himself as he escaped. It’d all be worth it, the future pain, the past wounds, the years of wasting. It would all be worth it to see Hiccup’s face as he passed some of his pain onto him.
He was right, as he always was, because as soon as Hiccup’s eyes fell on him, he saw them widen. He must know that revenge is coming and with his little group in cages, Dagur had the upper hand. Things would go perfectly.
“Hiccup, did you miss me?” Dagur asked with overexaggerated enthusiasm. “‘Cause I sure missed you. Everyday for three years, I thought about you,” and it was the honest truth. He moved out of the way for Hiccup to see his friends as he directed his attention to the dragon, “And you too, Mr. Night Fury.”
The blonde girl of which, he’d quite honestly, forgotten the name of, spoke, trying to carry on a conversation as though that was the thing to do. It made Dagur wonder, how many times, since he had been forced in jail, had the riders been in situations like these? It couldn’t be many. Seeing as it didn’t take long nor did it take a genius to realize that prisoners were supposed to be quiet.
He glared at her, yelling for her to stop. “Can’t you see that, the two of us are having a moment?” he asked, gesturing to Hiccup who scowled.
“We are not having a moment.”
“Oh, well, I was,” Dagur said, mostly to himself. He then gestured to Hiccup. “Look at you! All grown up and, in another life, I’d wager you’d be quite the ladies man.”
“Dagur, what do you want?” Hiccup asked.
From within their cage, the group started to speak, “Haven’t gotten rid of the Greek chorus, I see.” He took a step forward. “I’m sure you know what I want, Hiccup. You must have figured it out.”
Hiccup met his gaze, tried to hold it with something resembling a glare but falling ever so short of one. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Dagur raised an eyebrow, looked him up and down, so many years and still, he was a terrible liar. “Oh, boy, must we always do the same dance, Hiccup, you and I?” He wrapped his arm around Hiccup and lowered his voice, “Not that you’re not a fabulous dancer. You know exactly what I’m speaking of.” He glanced back at the cage filled with the riders, “I see, you haven’t told them, have you?” He leaned forward, smiling as Hiccup leaned back, “Are you ashamed?” Dagur inhaled sharply then sighed, “It doesn’t matter, they’ll find out eventually.” After a few more words, Dagur took his leave, waiting for Hiccup to follow.
Physical looks could change. He could be taller and he could grow out his hair. He could have more sharp edges and have the beginning of stubble. So many things could change but so much could still stay the same. He was still lanky and his hair still had the same summer highlights. His many freckles still stayed in the same places and he’d always have that small scar. So many things could change but Hiccup Haddock still remained the same, still so predictable. Even with Hiccup taking victory this time, he knew he’d get to try again another day.
.
Night was coming, the temperature dropping, the sea gently rocking the boat. Oh, how Dagur loved night time. The day was fine and well but with the sun shining and birds chirping while fish lept from the waters, it was far too cheery for Dagur. With night came mystery. The birds slept as different fish started to wake that were far less pleasant than the day time ones. All while the moon gently lit the sky, giving just enough light to see right in front of you but nowhere else as fog made it that much harder to see with the limited light. Night time was Dagur’s favorite time of day. Tonight was just all the more enjoyable.
He went below deck, smiled as boards creaked and the ship swayed. He went to his room, his smile widened when he saw it to still be true. This was better than any of his fantasies, better than anything that he could imagine in his mind, as dark and twisted as it could be. Nothing compared to the sight of Hiccup Haddock, bound and chained to his bed. No, nothing could compare to this.
As he closed the door, he met Hiccup’s glare. He walked forward. Now he had to bend down to be in Hiccup’s face, the only thing Hiccup could see. It reminded him of when they were kids and it felt so nice to live in those past memories. They were some of the only things that kept him focused while in prison, while plotting revenge. Now, he could take that revenge.
He lifted his hand near Hiccup’s head, watching as hate mixed with fear. He tugged the gag out of his mouth. “Where’s the fun if you can’t talk back?” he asked, fingers still around the cloth that hung around Hiccup’s neck. His thumb brushed against it, “Before we begin, I know you have questions so go ahead, Hiccup dear, ask them.”
Silence followed. Hiccup met Dagur’s gaze once more. They stared at each other. Neither one backed down from the silent competition until Hiccup sighed. “Why are you doing this?”
“You know why,” at least he should.
“No, Dagur! I really don’t. You don’t-- There’s no way you could have known about us being-- about that so why? Why the war? Why the torment? Why now are you so set on revenge? Why are you doing any of this? Why have you done the things that you’ve done?”
Dagur blinked several times, sitting on the bed, watching as Hiccup tried his best to move away with the limited room that they had. He hated it, hated this. He never should have prompted Hiccup to ask his questions because if he answered honestly-- No, he wasn’t going to answer at all. He told Hiccup to ask his questions, he never said he’d answer them.
He glared at Hiccup before looking away and placing on a smirk. He’d waited years, he was going to enjoy this. He moved into Hiccup’s personal space. “I’ve always wondered what it would be like to finally get a chance to do with you what I want, no restrictions, no parents to have to lie to when they ask why you’re battered and bruised.” He trapped Hiccup between the himself and the wall, leaned next to his ear, and whispered, “It’s time to figure out what it’s like, don’t you think?”
Pulling away, Dagur saw the fear Hiccup was trying his best to hide but still, he’d always been easier to read than a children’s book. “Dagur, you don’t have to--” He fell silent as Dagur cupped his face, deliberately as gently as he could manage.
“What are you imagining what I’m gonna do to you, Hiccup?” genuinely, he was curious of what he thought but he remained quiet. Dagur sighed, removing his hand from Hiccup’s face and letting it rest half on the boy’s thigh and half on the bed.  “I’m not planning on killing you, if that’s what your thoughts are drifting towards. Killing you would hardly be a fair punishment.” He moved his hand so that it fully rested on Hiccup’s thigh, his thumb moving in circles. “No, I have plans, Hiccup. I have far different plans, my dear. Killing you would do nothing for me but watching you go through some of the same things I watched happen in that prison, had happen to myself a few times. Now that, that would be marvelous. I’ve waited so long just to watch you squirm with me barely even touching you.”
The hand on Hiccup’s thigh started to move upward, his other hand went and rested on the wall. He smiled as he saw the movement of Hiccup’s chest start to quicken, his breath becoming short. “Don’t worry. I promise you, it won’t be much. No, it won’t be but a fraction of the pain, the discomfort that you think it will be.”
He cupped Hiccup’s face once again, watching as Hiccup did his best to move away but he was trapped. His fingertips ghosted along his jaw then brushed against his lips. Hiccup jerked his head away and where Dagur’s touch had been gentle before, he now harshly grabbed Hiccup’s chin, forcing him to look his way.
“This will all be easier and you’ll be in less pain if you stay still,” he told him, snarling as he did so. “But go ahead, ignore my warnings, learn it the hard way. I don’t mind, my dear, because either way, you will not be leaving me feeling like your own body is yours. It’ll belong to me and you’ll live with that reminder for the rest of your life. It won’t go away but if you’d listen to me, it could be easier to ignore.”
A mix of emotion was written on Hiccup’s face, disgust, fear, worry, hatred, and pity. That would have to go very quickly.
He pushed Hiccup to the wall with enough force that his head hit it, making a loud bang ring through the air as Hiccup’s face screwed up with a groan. Dagur then forced Hiccup’s legs down, when they had previously been pulled up against him. He sat on top of them and placed a hand on Hiccup’s chest, forcing him to stay against the wall. Looking at Hiccup’s face again, he smiled. The hatred and anger was back once more.
“I’ve done so much talking, is there anything you’d like to say before we truly begin?” he asked, fake interest and enthusiasm entering his voice. He didn’t give him a chance to reply, “Nothing? Oh, you must be excited then, right? I can’t be the only one.” Hiccup went to look away again but Dagur caught his chin, moving his hand from his chest, he wiggled a finger, “Nuh-uh.” With Dagur’s hand no longer on his torso, Hiccup went to move but Dagur leaned his body against him and Hiccup decided it was infinitely worse, if his grimace was anything to go by. “Not so fast. We haven’t started yet.”
He pushed Hiccup’s bangs out of his face. “No, we haven’t gotten close to starting,” he moved forward and placed his lips against Hiccup’s. He wasn’t rough but gentle instead. He wanted Hiccup to remember him, no matter who it was he kissed. They could be gentle, they could be rough, they could be in a middle ground, but it wouldn’t matter because Dagur would do it all.
Hiccup didn’t reciprocate but that was alright. He didn’t have to because Dagur’s mind was singing, his skin was tingling. Kissing was how most people sealed their bond with their soulmate and Dagur had heard that sealing that bond was one of the best experiences in the world. For Hiccup, and only for Hiccup, Dagur was going to do his best to make it the worst.
He stayed gentle, for the moment. He was waiting for the moment in which things were supposed to click. When they clicked, he was almost certain that Hiccup would reciprocate, even if just for a few seconds but hopefully much longer. So he stayed fairly gentle, just until that moment. He slowly started to build up his intensity.
Then, it happened, the bond snapped into place. Dagur almost forgot his plan but did his best to remain focused on the goal. The feelings had just gotten so intense, so very quickly. Hiccup was kissing him back, it was a nice feeling. At least it was for Dagur, he had little doubts that Hiccup would look back at this moment with nothing but unpleasantness and disgust.
Dagur pulled back but Hiccup, in a daze, chased after him. His hands moved and grabbed Dagur’s shirt. The chains that held him to the bed rattled at the action. Dagur smiled into the next kiss. Hiccup’s hands went to Dagur’s neck, pulling him closer. Dagur went and grabbed at the belt he kept around his torso. With quick movements, Dagur unbuckled it and tossed it to the side. Then his hands went under Hiccup’s shirt and the fog cleared.
Hiccup did his best to jerk away, shame and the seemingly forever disgust when around Dagur was washed over him. He tried to move back but he was as far as he could go, back already pressed to the wall.
“Aw! Feeling regret, my dear?” Dagur asked, using his hands that remained on Hiccup’s waist to pull him closer. “Too late, deed’s done.”
