not utter garbo. i was like 11 or 12 when i read it and it was a little historically inaccurate if i remember correctly but it was still good enough for me to love cuz you treated india pretty well 😭😭😭 god i remember scouring through pages of ff dot net to find fics with a decent india and landing on colonialism fetishizing or extremely minor mentions or "elephant club lolz" or "he's actually younger than arth-" fics 💀 maybe that says a lot more about the state of india content back then but. yeah. i can get why it cringes u out but the enjoyment it brought to me as a 11-12 year old indian desperate for good hws india and indchu was real ✌🏾 (elephant club isn't a bad concept it just pissed me off as a child) (india being younger than. him. is a big ick for me and i think it's revolting ngl, i do not trust non indians with that hc.)

Awwww tysm for your wonderful words!! Gosh, it seems like even from the very beginning I was so fixated on aph india because just like you I have fond memories of scavenging his tag on ff net (and still do on ao3 LOL) I'm happy that I was able to write about him more accurately than most of the fanfiction dot net gurlies and I hope to continue doing that even like.... wow, 6-7 years later!

Redrawing A Blog Classic ( Long Post)

 If you’ve been following this blog from the start, you may remember an M!A from nearly 3 years ago, given to Shiv out of pity, in which he could finally be a Hindu God (just like he’d always wanted as a youth)- I of course, made sure it was a fever dream and took the chance to meme away by making him a God of Pest Control, ascended into the heavens after killing the Evil Mosquito Demon Mashakasura.

You can find some of the posts under the tag ‘#god m!a’ but I’m most interested in the last post I made for that set, the crackiest post I’ve ever made featuring Indra and Agni with Shiv in the worst soap opera styled love triangle ever seen. Here follows the redraws I spent two days on!

Some vocabulary for your reference:

Bharata-deva: The title and name for Shiv as a god, merging ‘Bharat’ (the Sanskrit name for India) and the suffix ‘-deva’ (the word and title for a god/godly being in Hindu Mythology).

Indra: The Hindu King of the Gods. He’s also the god of storms and holds the vajra, a celestial weapon that is effectively the same as Zeus’ Lightning Bolt. He’s known for being tyrannical and often plays a role in cautionary tales that warn against arrogance and ego.

Agni: The Hindu God of Fire. He’s a brother to Indra, yet he is a far more likeable figure. 

Asuras: A semi-divine race and the enemies of the Devas, they’re akin to Demons yet they are not all evil aligned.

Personality: Friendly and mirthful, the Ruler of Heaven gives the impression that they aren’t half as cunning as they had to be in order to defeat their peers from the last generation of Gods.

How did they attain godhood?: They Killed a Mosquito Demon King.

What do they offer to worshippers?: Many things! Immunity to Insect Bites, Protection, Luck in Love, Fertility, Education, Love ETC. As the most powerful deity, there is little they cannot achieve. This is purposeful godmodding, as they represent the goal of all other deities as well as the greatest fear of nefarious creatures.

Additional background: Shiv is living their best genderfluid life, taking many different forms, they have temples depicting them as a god, goddess and sometimes even multiple forms! All pronouns are welcome, just use Shiv if things get confusing.

They will also be awarding achievements and titles to their divine subjects for excellent performances. In the end, they are still the big boss, so it would be unwise to get on their wrong side.
