no, you fool. it's also nothing like the last event set in liyue that featured characters from mondstadt (venti), liyue (hu tao, zhongli, xingqiu and chongyun) and fontaine (npc), where an npc from fontaine fell for a supernatural npc from liyue (a famous figure in liyue's mythology, connected to a playable healer girl) - this time, an npc from mondstadt fell for a supernatural npc from fontaine (a famous figure in mondstadt's mythology, connected to a playable healer girl)! while xiao and venti are still both there and nothing is being explained about their relationship at all!

This sprang from my love of the rusalka from Slavic folklore and this submission asking for Shakespeare retellings which brought back my fascination with Ophelia so I just smashed them together at Mach speed.

CONTENT WARNING: mentions of intimate partner violence and suicide by drowning Some things to know just so I can sort of roughly map out how I got here:

Rusalka are vengeful water spirits almost exclusively portrayed as women

There are many versions of the tale, all with different ways on how rusalka come to be

One way is they’re souls of women that drowned themselves

Another is they’re the souls of pregnant women that were drowned by their lovers (because they were pregnant out of wedlock)

If you’re going with the women that were murdered, these souls cannot move on and find peace until their murder is avenged

Moving onto Shakespeare: Ophelia died by drowning

There’s a very solid argument to be made that Ophelia killed herself, she didn’t just fall, her drowning was on purpose

There’s also contextual evidence that she was pregnant with Hamlet’s child

Some say that if she killed herself, it may have been a form of revenge against Hamlet

Basically. In a world where a pregnant Ophelia killed herself, hoping to find peace, instead she finds herself as a water spirit doomed to wander the world until she has her revenge. RUSALKA OPHELIA THAT MURDERS HAMLET.

i received a few asks about the template i made for my stranger things discord profiles set, so i thought i'd go ahead and share it.

below is some basic info + download link.

the font used here is called Nunito from google fonts

everything is broken up into folders + all of the layers are labeled

the badges are found under the boxes folder

each hypesquad badge is it's own layer, but the rest are merged together

all of the emojis used here are from the apple color emoji font family

i made this template myself, so all i ask is that you don't claim as your own and you give proper credit if you end up using it!

this template is a modified version of the original one i made to make my gifs, as the original file was very big and confusing to navigate. if there are any issues or anything seems confusing, feel free to shoot me an ask at any time and i will do my best to help!

Sometimes we get really excited the beta reader who caught all the typos in our gloriously gifted fanwork. We might even be tempted to shout that beta reader out in the author's note on AO3, by name or by link, but whoa! Hang on!

That's a breach of Polyswap Anonymity!!!

Any information that could reveal your identity before gifter reveals on JUNE 22nd is a no-go. A massive part of the fun inherent to this event is hiding in plain sight, letting your giftee get excited, and having a great MASK OFF MOMENT when the time comes.

But it's only a beta, right? Well, any friend of yours is bound to lead back to you if your giftee is a sleuth... and most of them are! It's also why we don't allow wordcount bragging, WIP screenshots of artwork, or "I'm done!" messages in our official Discord Server.

Save that beta shoutout for AFTER the gifter reveals, and then laud all the praise you like! [Once anonymity is lifted, you can also edit your author's note however you please.]
