When Eileen or whoever Sam's blurry wife is in a throw away line in a fic is pregnant to show that Sam's happy and doing good it kinda revolts me not gonna lie. We're really putting 2.5 kids on whatever woman shaped object is in Sam's love life? And on Sam for that matter? Who, by the end of the show, expressed zero interest in having a little baby and said he felt fulfilled by hunting, despite its downsides.

One of the reasons Sam and Eileen work well together is that they're both hunters and feel able to lean on each other in that regard, and yet pregnancy or motherhood is often the only thing we hear about Eileen in these cases. She's made into an incubator. Is the only vision of happiness she's allowed becoming Mary from the first minute of the Pilot?

hey can we please talk about Sam's habit of quickly forming pretty intense relationships

sam immediately forms strong relationships with people whenever he's left alone (cuz he has abandonment issues ur honour). we literally see it time and time again, from his major love interests: jess, ruby, amelia, blurry wife, to one off episode characters like jake and ava (if you really squint, i think he saw her as a potential bestie but he saw all the psychic kids that way so)

he was gonna propose to jess, he had been looking at rings

after 2? years of dating. 3 at most

him and ruby spent all their time together? im pretty sure

moved in with amelia in less than a year

marriage to bloody wife seemed very quick

he immediately imprints on all the psychic kids, they are just like him!!! and they are in this together!

madison? that was a very short, very intense relationship

What drew them to each other is that they were both willing to do reprehensible things.

Whether it's to save their own skins, to save their families, to carry out a plan... They're naturally fucked up in the same pragmatic way.

But they can BE their full, "flawed, petty evil creatures" in full light of the other.

And they both want to change.

And in season 15, Rowena knows that Sam wouldn't have been able to kill her at the end there... not unless she guided his hand and helped him.

Can we please talk about Eileen for a sec?

Because, all jokes aside, the bitch (affectionate, and with great respect) started hunting solo at 16.

She was trained by a woman hunter named Lillian O'gardy. Lillian died when eileen was 16. Eileen hunted the banshee for 14 more years after that.

this meant that Eileen fucking Leahy was: A. An underage girl B. Traveling alone (AS A 16 GIRL) C. Hunting alone, with no backup D. Had no support system that we know of E. Deaf, she was doing all this and is straight up missing one of her main senses. F. Probably running from the foster care system G. Having to provide for herself, all on her own, including the injuries she would sustain during hunting.

And she fucking survived all that

Just traveling around the US as a 16 year old girl in the early 2000's is dangerous enough, now ad monsters and a desperate need to kill the thing that took your family before you could even remember them.

Mind you, Dean motherfucking Winchester went on his first solo hunt at 17, and even then, he could still call for backup in the shape of bobby or his father (no guarantee John would help him, but there's a chance)

Eileen didn't have that.

Mind you, the only reason the winchesters know how to fight shit like satan is out of necessity. if they never needed to kill the devil, they wouldn't have gotten those skills. Pre series sam and dean were normal average hunters. they were younger then normal, most hunters probably start anywhere between 30-50 when they get their Tragic Event (tm), but other then that, they were 'normal' hunters.

Unlike a certain deaf girl who's been obsessively tracking down a banshee and tearing down every monster in her path on her own since the tender age of 16.

She had acne and a fake ID to get into bars, but still looked to young to pass as 21 so could only get a milkshake and burger.

Do you think the other hunters knew about it? Do you think she went to the roadhouse often? do you think Ellen and Jo sometimes let her stay on the couch? If yes, how devastated was she when her last sense of stability was burned to the ground?

Do you think hunters see her around in dive bars and recognize her and stay away, because any deaf chick that age, still alive in this line of work is not to be messed with.

Just don't imagine the 16 year old girl sitting on the closed toilet seat in a ratty motel room, rag between her teeth to keep her from screaming, cleaning out a gash on her leg, desperately trying to steady her hands and keeping the tears from blocking her view, stitching herself up. Hospitals are a no go, they would just call CPS and she can't afford that right now.

Look, I'm not trying to pick a fight here, I'm just saying that if you put a 16 yo Eileen up against a 16 yo Dean, Dean would lose, and it wouldn't even be close.

i sometimes act like the last few episodes of spn don't exist. like i can imagine cas, dean, sam and jack being happy together as family, maybe they decide to move into the same neighborhood when sam gets married and dean, cas and jack live in the house next door. (there will be weekly bbq parties, dean insists on them so he can show off his new grill like the dad he is) and the bunker becomes this like "oh we have work to do" or "lets have a party" meet up place. they are still going on hunts but they're less risky because they dont want to lose anyone else. no one dies, everyone is happy, dean and castiel got their shit together and just happy feelings.
