Some quick, for fun redesigns of Vaggie and Charlie!

Here’s the break down of what inspired the changes and looks for each of them :3

• Over all I based them off of Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora and the outfits they wear at the end of the movie. But they also have extra individual theming thrown in.

• I like the idea that Charlie has a very Disney Princess personality but she dresses more like a prince.

•Same thing for Vaggie, she has a more commanding and “Princely” personality but dresses much more femininely.

• I wanted to make Charlie more clown like as well to fit more with the over all theme of hell being a circus and Lucifer being a ringmaster.

•Vaggie has some more obvious moth features like fluffy antenna and a fluffy tail. When she regains her wings she also has feathery moth wings!

•Charlie has short hair, because she honestly looks so cute with short hair.

• Instead of an X over her missing eye Vaggie has a broken heart which is pretty on the nose but I like how it fits with her design lol

•Charlie has much more prominent Goat and Demon features, cause I want her to look a bit more like both her mom and dad

Morningstar family redesigns

I kinda wanted to expand on my choices for my redesigns for fun

So first, Lucifer. I really don’t have a lot of issues with his original design, I think it’s fun and fits within the Hazbin universe! I just wanted to reimagine him.

I always liked the idea of Lucifer having curly reddish hair, something about his fall turning his hair red (this design isn’t 100% biblically accurate as it is just for fun), but I toned down the red to be closer to his original blonde since I also like blonde Lucifer, and I figured he’d liked to keep his hair neat so I decided to put it up and take away the hat

I wanted to keep the ring leader theme in his outfit, but I wanted to further incorporate the snake element in his design since I think he’d be proud of his fall (hence why his suit looks burnt and torn, and he shows off his burnt arm, I figured he’d do this intentionally to remind others of his rebellion)

Lastly I changed the entire family’s main colors to purple, as biblically out of the 7 sins Pride is purple and since he’s supposed to rule pride in the show I figured he’d be more purple themed then red, pretty simple🙏

Next Lilith, I think she was the only one out of the three where I didn’t really like her original design. Not only because she didn’t have much going on, but she also looked really similar to Lucifer, to the point where they almost look blood related.

I think Viv’s choices for Lilith were a bit odd, as she had SOO much potential that just wasn’t used.

I kept her blonde hair but I gave it some tan undertones and I put it up into a semi-low slicked back pompadour inspired by some hairstyles you might see young women have in the early 1900s or late 1800s, but I gave her a little down section that fades into a dark purple and looks somewhat feathery due to one adaption of her describing her as a “screech owl”. I kept the purple theme somewhat like the original and plus she technically rules over pride as well, I would have loved to have given her a red theme if pride was red.

Based on these different adaptations of Lilith a took inspiration from each, giving her a flame-themed dress and the upper body of a beautiful women yet still somewhat demon-like, I also put some fluff at the bottom of her dress since I thought it looked kinda like smoke puffs and clouds. Her stomach is covered with gold rings that look somewhat like a snake belly, and I gave her a necklace with a style inspired by some eastern jewelry, the jewels on her necklace are each the color of one of the 7 sins which I thought would be a fun touch and a little bit of a “showing off” of her role as the queen of hell.

lastly I kept her horns since she is meant to be a succubus, but I stylized them a bit to look less like those big ram-like ones since I didn’t really like how odd they looked against her head. I also gave her long slender fingers that faded to a black naturally as in biblical lore she steals babies from mothers and I thought making her hands that she stole the children with look creepy and eerie yet still beautiful was a nice touch.

Lastly, Charlie! Again, I didn’t really have a problem with the original design. I changed her suit color and theme to prides color, put I made her hair curlier and more red/orange like her dads, and I wanted some parts of her suit to resemble his a bit hence the buttons and the back of her suit going out like her dad’s (but a bit shorter for convenience.)

I imagine her being a bit showy so I kinda decked her out in silver, I thought it’d also be a fun mirroring of how her mom is covered in gold. Her shoes are pretty similar to the original, I put a little split at the front of the shoes in the dark purple since Viv has said she has little hooves which I’m not sure is true but I thought it was a fun idea so I kinda hinted at it with that

I changed her irises (is that what they’re called?) to look more snake-like like her dad, and I gave her little horns since I thought they were cute and I wanted her to maybe show them on purpose because she wanted to blend in more with the citizens of hell so they might feel less intimidated by her presence as the princess, that’s also why I didn’t give her a crown :]

Overall this was just a fun little project I did out of curiosity and boredom, these designs aren’t made to criticize or taunt vivziepop since like I said I love her designs already

Been playing a little game called pretend that I was given a written premise for fe engage characters and had to design them as if they didn't already have designs*. Here's Timerra, Panette, and Yunaka !

*kind of. I keep color palettes and generally follow that rule loosely but that's what it is in theory

Explanations/thought process bullet points below the cut

Timerra

I gave her Fogado's feathery sleeves and her mother's feathers in her hat to make them feel a little more connected

In her support with Alear she talks about wearing jewels and she straight up is not. Unless her balloons are jewels¿? So I gave her some

Because she starts off with Ike's ring, she now has Ike's sleeveless-nes with the one shoulder pad and the big cape.

Changed her hair a bit to fit jewelry I thought would be neat

Tried to keep metal off of her skin directly so she doesn't overheat

Flower motif. Just felt like the vibe

Tried to vaguely keep her original silhouette, in that her center of gravity is at her hips. Everything else "points" in that direction

Panette

With how dedicated she is to being a Solm Retainer, you'd think she'd present herself in the Solm fashion more. (Not that Solm fashion is very concrete; I mainly worked off of Seforia and my Timerra redesign for consistency in that regard. So she has the signature lightweight fabric and the tassels + beads to indicate wealth.)

She needs a hood because she is so pale and she is going to sunburn to death . Also it's a little bit gothy

She's significantly less gothy overall bc it seems to me like Presenting As Dignified As Her Station Requires is her whole thing, and being goth is just a hobby

Tried to make her center of gravity higher so that everything points to her shoulders and she's parallel and opposite to Timerra. Don't know how well I succeeded there

Had a difficult time fitting in her brawling into her design. She's embarrassed about it so she wouldn't really want to indicate it...but it's also practical to be ready to throw down if needed...I worked that out by having wraps around her arms that are mostly covered, but on second thought I could stand to extend those to wrap around her knuckles too

Yunaka

Wanted to lean into her mysteriousness + practicality while also letting her be flashy

She's transfem. To me.

Tried to contrast very lightweight assassin-y cloth with big chunky leather

She lowkey reminds me of wolfwood trigun so she obviously keeps her low cut neckline. In reference to him 🙏

Kept it simple but with flare (hopefully). Flashiness is in how her clothing works as she moves (the two-toned "cloak" flitting behind her should be striking) instead of flashiness in jewelry or accessories.

Spare knives at her belt seem appropriate

Tried to keep fluttery strips of cloth throughout her design as a motif

impulsively made designs for the voices! they're kind of more like concepts so they're likely to change if I get better ideas for them. I didn't want to make them too complex and give them pinterest outfits lol (I might do that another time though). notes for each voice under the cut!

Hero: I was kind of inspired when a friend said they'd picture that Hero would have similar armor to Artorias from Dark Souls, partially the reason I started drawing the voices

Contrarian: the first thought was to make him a jester, but I thought that's what people would usually imagine him as. so I gave him something more modern to stand apart from the rest of the voices where they're all medieval-ish. also the only voice with a completely round head and the only one without a lower eyelid. he looks silly too so bonus points for that. Contrarian can open his other eye, the diamond on his face is like a tattoo of sorts lol. The X on his chest is a reference to the Razor when he skewers himself (or ourself but same difference)

Stubborn: the first one I actually tried to design. I had the idea of giving a sharper, more prominent chin to the voices who seem more likely to resort to violence. the only idea I had for him was his arms so I had to google and this is the best I could come up with

Hunted: my first roadblock. I was clueless and even considered leaving him as just the base form, but a friend suggested giving him a bandana on his neck, so I did that. a little later I decided to make him fluffy instead of giving him clothes and it took a bit to figure out how to do that

Cold: I found an outfit while I was looking for ideas for Stubborn and I thought it was perfect for Cold. my original idea was just a scarf, but I really liked what I found. don't mind the bad posing by the way lmao, I had an idea for a separate art piece but executed that very poorly so now it's part of the design drawings

Smitten: I got some inspiration from Reverse 1999 for this one actually, but the idea was a little too similar to Hero so I mixed that in with something a bard might wear and gave him a funny feathery hat

Paranoid: I drew him before this post and nothing changed from there. the eye on his hood is one sided and there's nothing else underneath. I don't know how to fit all the details in a pose that would make sense so I'll make another post later lol

Broken: in the Tower route pledging yourself kind of was like becoming a priest for her or something so I gave him the first thing I saw on pinterest when I was looking for priest like clothes. there's a shard of glass connecting the cloak together. he also has stab wounds on his torso from the Tower route

Skeptic: so the last three I struggled to think of designs for so much. he has a scar on his neck from just before the Drowned Grey route where giving him the knife would get him to slit the player's throat. the outfit was inspired by something I found on pinterest and thought the chain going across could somewhat be like the chain going around the player's neck

Cheated: this took the longest to figure out and I gave up on thinking of something. I just gave him whatever outfit I could find on pinterest I thought that would fit him lmao. the only thing I managed to think of was putting bandages around his wrist. he has a scar under the bandages from the Razor

Opportunist: I don't know what I was thinking when I designed him or his clothes. I think he just kind of gave me merchant vibes so I tried going for that and gave him a silly hat. he's definitely not hiding a blade behind his back. the coin was just an extra thing I thought of adding. I ran out of paper space on the page and didn't want to put Opportunist on a different page all by himself so he's the only one without a full body drawing, but it wouldn't make much of a difference if it was a full body

172 - Serra Zino

Serra was the first character I made, I think. It might've been someone else. I know she's the first one I wrote anything down about anyway.

She has the special ability to refuse being depicted, or so I might think, given how much of a hard time I have drawing her. I've been trying several times but never could do anything satisfying with her. Part of it is her arms being kinda difficult, another is that I wanted to put her into cool action poses, which I still struggle with.

Ultimately I just redesigned her slightly. She's way more ourple than she used to be, looks quite a bit younger (unintentionally) due to the slimmer frame I gave her. I may adjust that. I also regrettably had to get rid of her feathery collar that her old dress used to have. It would've obscured her shoulder and neck portions, which I wanted to show here. Her new dress is designed to show off her toned body, which I also still have to get better at drawing. Muscles are difficult, but I'm getting there. Already have a fairly good grasp on legs. I wouldn't mind grasping her legs. Did some slight changes to her horns and spiky arms, but nothing groundbreaking. Just made them easier to draw I think.

But who or what is Serra? She's a half-beast who generates electricity in her body. It's discharged through her horns and she can guide it through any part of her body, but mostly uses her hands for that. She can fire powerful short-ranged lightning strikes, but it fizzles past a few meters. Within her range she's very quick and accurate with them though. Serra used to travel the world to hunt dangerous creatures to test her strength and wound up making a bit of a fortune by doing that. Now she's had herself a mansion built near a mining village in the southwestern part of the lightlake region. Nothing much goes on there and she often gets bored so she's hardly at home. She'll mostly be there to spend time with her friend Titania when she's there for a visit.

Serra fights with a mostly grounded and counter-based style where she lets her enemy approach her to then grab them or strike back.

She can block and deflect bladed and blunt weapons with her hardened arms, sustaining little damage as well as turn metallic weaponry into conduits for a counter-attack.

The parts of her body that she channels electricity through turn purple. This can happen within hours to minutes, given enough output and if this is done frequently and regularly, her skin will harden and sprout jagged edges - like how her arms are. Purple colouration turns back over the course of a few days, hardened skin several weeks to over a month. Where her skin has hardened previously the process of re-hardening it is hastened. As Serra's body changes this way her temper turns more aggressive and unreasonable to the point where she's dangerous to be around no matter who you are.

Her electricity can be used to safely power anything that would run on conventional magical electricity, since she has pretty good control over it. She's actually kind of important in the first and third acts of the story, not that I'm even far into writing the second act.

So I have been struggling with my own Odile Sumi redesign and this is what I came up with so far using her concept art as a chart of some sort. Like parts of her canon design is fine actually (the coat is to die for!) and it can actually still fit the theme I'm going for but idk. I'm still thinking about it.

Full notes to help:

-White in lining and underside of coat (inspired by the P5 Manga Vol. 11 cover)

-White ruffles and either black or white gloves (the latter because, I still like the potential symbolism) [fixed errors]

-Shoes either stay black or changed to red.

-Definitely a haircut like my own edit/HC. New ribbon? Unsure.

-The possible red shoes idea was recycled from an idea I had for a redesign I did a while back. It would have been a reference to the film, "The Red Shoes."

-The symbolism thing I think about with the gloves: So... I very briefly mused about it a long while back but I can't help but feel like her having red gloves can not only be her whole thing with Joker but also symbolic of her subconsciously thinking she still has "Kasumi's blood" on her hands since during her boss fight, she outright feels like she "killed" her sister and would rather run away from the truth of it all. Her gloves changing could be symbolic of her acceptance of it, that it wasn't really her fault. White or black is what I'm still deciding on since both could coordinate well but I'm also tired of the small amount of gatekeeping with the idea of, "gloves = elemental affinity" thing. Overanalyzing? Yes, but still would have been neat!

-I'm not SUPER confident in it but I want to attempt it too so... I just want to make her look different, but I worry about it still feeling like a Joker knock-off. I had more majorly different design ideas, but they didn't click oddly. Also small confession: Her, Joker, and Zenkichi (and my PT Maruki to an extent) being coat tail besties is becoming my lifeblood! Still feedback would be nice if you so desire!

I know characters are allowed to change in the 40 years they been established since but what has goth genuinely done to improve Raven as a character besides pandering to goth girl gooners.quite literally she just became a generic egirl, she’s barely drawn with her gem, her star earrings and long black hair have disappeared, her long flowing cloak ,robe, rings and bird clasps have been replaced by a feathery mess and ugly red gems, her backstory is erased to make her a generic magic fighter, she’s not even a pacifist no more, she doesn’t even wear pink..

Genuinely how can anyone besides toon fans who only watched the toon and gooners defend this take.

tbh going off twitter and the descicion to change Raven's current design in the middle of the run I actually think her current looks are quite unpopular. No one seems to really like her current design. I think it was basically just out of touch executives failing to modernize her toon design in a way that's remotely pleasing to anyone. It's certainly not universally disliked, but even among toon fans I don't think it's popular. I'm hoping that the redesign will be good (based on the preview we have, it's promising) and that it'll stick.

Characterization is a different matter, and I'm honestly not sure where that is going. Her characterization was horrible for the first bit of the run, and even worse during Beast World, but it has rebounded a little bit with the current arc focusing on her. I still don't like the descision to make Raven and demon Raven two separate people though, and the team dynamics as a whole aren't very good. I don't like that Dick seems to be the only person suspcious of Raven, where's the rest of the team? Why haven't they noticed Raven's strange behavior?

I'm also worried that the Trigon aspect of the story will fall flat by depowering him too much. Tom Taylor wrote a brief Trigon fight in DCeased and it was terrible, Trigon was defeated in like 5 seconds. I don't think writers should include Trigon in a story at all if they aren't willing to actually make him a cosmic threat. In my opinion, a Trigon story can't work if Raven isn't instrumental in his defeat. Hopefully my worrying will be wrong and they'll stick the landing, but based on the scene in the run of Amanda Waller of all people managing to intimidate Trigon I'm not hopeful. Really the only thing to do is wait and see how the arc develops.

Hey y'all guess what uni is finally over (ended with a spectacular burn-out but we don't talk about that) and at last I can focus on my projects again!

Which starts with a couple redesigns of the Bastards of Ethuline main trio! Now they can kick ass more efficiently, isn't that great

Couple design notes under the cut!

Nora's redesign was mostly her outfit, that I considered too unpractical for what she's doing. The ref has the four arms out to showcase the small spikes on the lower set, meant to resemble... whatever cockroaches have going on. But she can still keep the lower set hidden. The pattern on her pants are two centipedes crossing each other. The overall goal was to make her insect theme more visible.

Valti's changes were very minor. Some were to make them easier to draw, and some were because the old design did not reflect properly what I had in mind when it comes to their preferred fighting method. The hammer-axe also became just a hammer, practical for both them and me trying to draw it. The coat is longer to make them look more imposing.

Kadelio is the one who got the most changes. I wanted to add a bit more than just a couple antennae here and there (the main inspiration was the peacock after all), so now he has quite a lot of "feathery scales" on him. They're flesh and no you can't take them out without Kadelio screaming in agony. I also gave him a more appropriate outfit for running, since that's his specialty. The rifles also look like rifles now. They're still non-functioning, and only serve to channel his powers.

what are your theories/headcanons on Phil's hardcore lore? any part of it, or anything you find interesting

one that comes to mind immediately is my internal design of the Ocean Overlord. I can't draw very well at all but when I wrote him recently I really loved describing him as having a face like a whirlpool, constantly shifting and changing, sometimes approximating a human expression, sometimes just a swirling mess of coral and fish that live inside the space where a human would have a brain.

you know headcanons about elytras molding to the user over time? like how grian gets parrot wings and all that? it's more common to hermitcraft I guess, but I like to apply it here - Phil's wings started out as bug wings initially, but over time (and as he got to know the Goddess of Death within his hardcore world) they changed to big black feathery wings. He can take them off and replace them with a fresh set of bug wings if the durability gets bad or if he needs to swap to a firmer chestplate, but that's a very weird feeling on his body so he doesn't do it often. When he takes the elytra off it looks like a normal elytra in his hand again, but it's really easy for phil to tell when he has the right one on again.

i touched on this a bit in my last fic of whumptober, but one of my headcanons for Nethervoid is that the Ender King worked out a deal with the piglin factions in the Nether to attack the Blaze Empress and force her to fight a battle on two fronts so she would be weaker, and therefore it would be easier to steal her kingdom from her.

Speaking of nethervoid, I also have loose design headcanons for He and She - I guess pretty similarly to the ocean overlord I like to imagine that flowing lava makes up a lot of their body, held together by magic, but that's what allows their face to change shape so fluidly.

my most out-there headcanon is that there's a temple to the Goddess of Death in the overworld, and it's surrounded by a field of wither roses. this is actually just something i want phil to build.

ooh! and one last thing - this is a headcanon for now, and hopefully a prediction for the future, but that chunk in the taiga biome that phil has been steadily digging out? Where the stronghold is? I'm very much of the mind that it was the Ender King who stole that chunk of taiga, maybe to control one of the entrances into the End, maybe just because he wanted it for himself. Phil has not revealed what the point of the taiga project is yet but I'm fairly confident that's what it's going to end up being since it makes a lot of sense imo, so I really hope I get to be right in a few months haha

So, which of my characters do I want to redesign? Good question! Here's some of the cats I want to do redesigns on when I finish the new Clan sheets:

Flurryfeather: make her smaller, make her pelt more feathery, and change her herb, probably to rosemary

Tuftear: mostly I think I want to change her markings, I'm not great at designing torties and her design is really busy

Heronstalk: I have never been super satisfied with his design, but I think the one on the recolored Clan sheets I posted is pretty good

Quickwhisper: I want to give her some brown tones like she's a bit sun-bleached, and make her look slightly less like a carbon copy of Blackreed

Splinterfang: I want to change the way his fur hangs to make him look kinda wet and bedraggled, and I think I'll give his fur more of a grey tone. And maybe make his markings more burmese-esque like his sister and mom

Darkeyes: Idk.. her design just. it doesn't really fit how I envision her personality in my head? Not sure what I would change though. Maybe make her a little greyer, now that I have her siblings solidified as being Batswoop and Breezefeather, who are both black.

Pheasantruff: I completely redid his coloring on the recolored Clan sheet, and I'll probably change his face structure to look a lot more cocky to match his confident, slightly abrasive demeanor

I planned to submit my ideas about the mane 6, before I did any next gen bios. Oh well.

These are the designs of the mane six while the show was taking place in my next gen, so these are not their mom designs. Also many things play out different in this universe than in the show, so keep that in mind :D

First off with Rainbow Dash:

I like many others made Dash short. The shortest of the group to be exact. Someone that's so short with a Rainbow Dash level of confidence is endearing to me. Dash is second most physically fit, being in the wonderbolts and all. Kept her long hair, because she's rocking it. She has pretty big wings that help her with flight and being one of the fastest pegasi.

Fluttershy:

She is the most slender of the mane 6, but not the tallest. She's third tallest actually. Taller than Rarity but shorter than Twilight. She has very long hair, and it's all natural. Fluttershy has a little bit of a fluffy/feathery chest. Overall she is a little fluffy and cozy. I didn't end up changing much for Fluttershy, since I already really love her design.

Pinkie Pie:

Pinkie is the second shortest of the group and is also a little chubby(man, I need to get better at conveying body types). She has some dense curly parts of her coat to reflect her mane. Pinkie has some small spots scattered over parts of her body, even on her ears! Pinkie also has a little bit of fluff near her hooves.

Applejack:

She is the second tallest of the mane 6, only because one of them is an alicorn. Applejack was definitely the tallest before Twi became one. She is definitely the most strong and bulky, since she does a lot of manual labor in her day-to-day life. Applejack has a lot of freckles most noticeably on her face, shoulders and lower back. She has the same hoof design thing as her brother Big Mac, and the brown on her legs is actually the color of her coat, not dirt! I made a lot of changes to AJ, because once I filled her in with the canon colors I just thought she looked so boring. I wanted to change that so I gave her a bunch of details, and made her colors even more earthy.

Rarity:

She is about the average height of a pony mare(a little ironic, huh). Rarity has a more curved figure with small legs and thicker body. Changed up her mane quite a bit from the show. I actually spent some time drawing her mane so I knew how it worked. I wanted to do her justice. I gave her the body markings to make her look more regal, and in a blue-gray hue to go with her eyes and cutie mark.

Twilight Sparkle:

Twilight is the tallest being that she is an alicorn and thus has long legs, horn and neck. Before she ascended, Twilight was pretty uniform in her features. She was slightly shorter than Rarity, but had a longer horn. Pretty much the only design change I had for Twi is the slight tweaks I made to her mane. I think she looks very cute.

When I upload their mother design, I'll share my headcanons for their personalities and what they have accomplished. I'm not sure if their markings will all be passed down into their children. I'll have to make that decision, hmmm, but at least the very least they look nice in them! I didn't want to go too ham with the design changes for this universe, since the overall theme of it is that I've become too attached~ I plan to a different redesign of them at a later date and go crazy with it! Also I don't usually add hair shine to characters, but I wanted to add a little bit of spice, since most of them just have hair with one color. I think it looks nice though!

i think i know why the female turian design makes you froth with rage (because it also makes me froth with rage) but please go off on why they make you froth with rage if you want to? c:

So back in the day, when I got to ME3 and the game still hadn't introduced a female turian, I went ahead and HC'ed that humans simply couldn't tell the males and females apart. They are a pretty egalitarian society, so it would be SUPER weird if only males were hanging out on the Citadel, in merc bands, on Omega, in positions of leadership... And while birds can have huge sexual dimorphism, some birds are so similar scientists absolutely cannot tell them apart on sight.

But then Bioware ruined that by adding female turians to their DLC, as if that made things better. Particularly when they went with the abysmal design they did.

And in staring at Nyreen Kandros today to make this post, I think it come down to the fact that male turians look like aliens, and female turians look like human women with face masks on.

1. The first thing I noticed about turians was that you could see their teeth even when their mouths were closed. To be honest, this freaked me out, a lot, and I barely even spoke to Garrus in ME1. Well of course the teeth thing wasn't sexy, so it was the first thing that had to go. Female turians have mouths that close all the way, no teeth visible. On a scientific level, this could completely change the way they chew and swallow their food, so that's a big wtf from me.

2. Their eyes. They gave female turians cat pupils while the males have round ones. I cannot say this harder, what the fuck. What the fuck!!!! What is that?? How does that make sense? Not only that, but they changed the shape of the eye to be bigger, made the area around the eye bigger, and made the shape of the eye far more human, and, because they couldn't give them big ole fake eyelashes, they just gave them a sort of natural cat-eye shape.

What the fuck.

Garrus's browplate is shaped vaguely like an eyebrow. Nyreen's? Has a little slot to give her some nice eyeliner. (the top is also shaped totally different from Garrus's, which... maybe? maybe that could work in nature? But mehhhhh.)

3. I mean they gave a plated bird woman boobs. Next.

4. Okay I'm going to get smaller and more nitty gritty here, but all these small changes add up into making female turians look like angular human women with masks rather than, you know, bird aliens. Her nose. It starts lower on her face (more similar to ours) and is longer. The shape is different at the bottom. It has a different number of ridges, and they are less indented. I could see some of that being up to genetic diversity, but not all of that, and gain, it makes her nose look more human. Just look at the bridge vs Garrus's nose bridge.

5. Back to the mouth. Everything about Nyreen's mouth is softer than a male turian's. The angle of her lips is more human, they aren't pointy, they are broader.

6. Her cheekbones. So the only place they decided to make her pointier than Garrus were her cheekbones. Garrus does have cheekbones (plates?) but they connect to his mouth in a very different way that again, makes him look more alien, and make Nyreen look like a human.

7. Her fringe doesn't exist. This is just weird because in ME2 Garrus specifically says that female turians have fringes. So, okay, maybe the fringe isn't his feathery thing up top, maybe he was talking about something else. Uhh, what was he talking about? What on that face seemed fringe-like?

(Side note-- this does indicate that there is an awkward phase of turian puberty where males have like half a.. crest? is it a fringe? plated feathery bits and the females start growing out their mandibles and everyone looks half-formed. Love that for them, middle school dances much be atrocious)

I pulled this screenshot off google and you can just see-- the front of their faces are shaped entirely differently from each other. Even the browplate area-- completely different.

Look, genetic differences exist, there is a range in sexual dimorphism, but when the devs made all the changes to make female turians look softer, have fucking boobs of all things, and look remarkably human, I'm not going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this. The eye thing? No excuse. Stupid af.

You began to question if your existence is worth for the team or not.

“Ah, Hitoka-chan, [Name]-chan. Are you done changing?” Shimizu asked, smiling down at both of you who waited on the yard.

The sky was already dark the moment practice was over–something you knew you have to get used somehow if you really want to become the team’s manager in the future. However, what you didn’t expect was how time was surely running quickly that you could ever imagine. Maybe because you thoroughly enjoyed on how the team fired up during practice.

Yachi clearly didn’t expect her name to be mentioned so friendly and you didn’t expect Shimizu to called out for you too. That and her next words almost had you yelped out of surprise. “I’ll walk with you two, so hold on a sec. I’m going to change too.”

“No, it’s okay! I actually think I should be walking with you, or something, or…!”

“Don’t worry about it.” Dismissing the blonde’s reluctance, Shimizu jogged towards the changing room and leaving the two of you alone once again. Well, at least Yachi had any decency to reply while you just gaped at the senior’s figure–you found yourself being extremely rude and embarrassing.

“S-Shimizu-senpai is really nice, huh?” you stuttered, not knowing how to make it sound right. But you’re honest with your words–Shimizu treated you nicely and you didn’t once feel uncomfortable around her.

“Y-yeah,” Yachi replied, nodding stiffly.

“What’s wrong, sensei? Why the serious face?” Another voice managed to caught both of your attention. It came from the still lit gym–you noticed that it was Coach Ukai’s and the question directed to Takeda-sensei. Them being quite close with the open-window made their conversation could be heard clearly.

“Oh, well, apparently the bus we were supposed to take for the away games in Tokyo was booked by another club so it doesn’t look like we’ll get it. It looks like it’s going to cost us a lot more than expected so I was trying to figure out what to do.”

“I’ll try talking to a few more alumni.” Coach Ukai hummed in understanding. “I’m sure this problem will come up again in the future.”

“I apologize. I’ll try reaching out as well. Well, if all else fails, I do have some savings.”

“No, no, no! You need to save that for your future wedding or something. And don’t do that with your hand!”

“Yachi-san! [Name]-san!!” while Yachi stiffened from the energetic call, you blinked as Hinata skidded to stop right in front of you two. “Yachi-san, [Name]-san, are you going to be our manager!?”

“Uh, um-“

“Well, Hinata-kun-“

“You will, right!?”

“Hey, first-year girls, hey!” this time it was Tanaka and Nishinoya, looking at Yachi and you in confidence.

“We hope that you will join the Karasuno High School volleyball team.” Nishinoya said.

“Huh?” you and Yachi replied in confusion, with limited vocabulary.

“When you two are around, Kiyoko-san talks a lot.” Tanaka continued. It earned them both a smack on the head along with scolding from the team’s captain almost instantly.

“What kind of invitation is that, you idiots!?”

“Sorry these guys are so stupid,” Sugawara apologized in a more relaxed way–you’re guessing he’s already used with these two’s antics.

“N-No, not at all!” Yachi shook her head frantically.

“It’s okay…” you muttered, not sure how to reply that without sounding rude.

Yachi and you both knew it’s quite a shock to know Shimizu was so eager to have you in the team to help despite almost everything. For Yachi, she didn’t have any experience or knowledge about volleyball and considered herself an extra who’s not worth of her position. She didn’t want to be a hindrance and you understood.

You? You didn’t particularly have any reason to not join and to join. You sure have enough experience from middle school, although it was brief. Your brother loves volleyball so everything about it is already crammed inside your head without your consent. As a manager, you could rate your skill as 5–nothing too grand and nothing too special, too plain maybe could be the right word.

For a really high-spirited team which eager to grow, you’re too… plain. There’s no place for a monotone person like you in a club full of color.

With that, you began to question if your existence is worth for the team or not.

“Is something troubling you two?”

If Yachi’s staring at the empty club application in her hands, then you’re staring at the empty changing locker. Surely, Shimizu noticed your antics.

“By the way, I did play sports, but I had no prior experience with volleyball or being a manager,” your senior admitted. “I don’t think everyone has to like something before giving it a try. I don’t think you need an unwavering will or lofty move just to get started. Sometimes things that you start on a whim end up becoming very important to you, too. To get started, I think you just need a little bit of curiosity. And also a leap of faith.”

A leap of faith.

You found yourself mulling over her words.

This time, Shimizu told you that it’s fine to showed up at practice without having to wear the school’s gym clothes–just white shirt to match the team and jogger pants would do.

“Ouginishi will arrive in four and a half hours!” Shimizu announced as she began to changed to her indoor shoes. Once she got the series of replies, she turned to you two. “Alright, Hitoka-chan, would you line up some chairs around the court there? Let’s see… eight of them!”

“Uh, right!”

“And [Name]-chan, could you prepare the water bottles? The drinking fountain’s not far from here, just around the corner.”

“Okay, and the protein mixture is right over there, right? The blue box-“ You halted your words, shoulders immediately tensed from the automatic question which tumbled from your tongue. Shimizu’s eyes widened before she smiled, even wider one than before.

“That’s right! You really know a lot, it’s amazing!”

Flustered over her praises, you excused yourself immediately–snatching the rack of bottles and bolted towards the nearest drinking fountain. After finished filling them up, you poured each packet for each bottle and shook it to get it mixed properly. You didn’t even notice how fast your hand was moving and noticing that all the bottles were ready.

Once you were back, you put the rack on the designated place and jogged towards Yachi–maybe she would need help moving the chairs.

“Wha? How would I know?” Kageyama questioned, raising a brow–probably answering the conversation happened between him and Hinata which you didn’t know. “Is there a reason you want to eat when you’re hungry?”

“Right? Hmm…” Hinata hummed.

“And where are the water bottles?” Kageyama questioned, looking left and right.

“Here,” You gave one to him, the one you purposely not mix with anything. “I already filled it with water. You have your own protein drink, right?”

You noticed that the raven-haired boy already pulled a package with different color so you knew he had his own choice of protein drink and brought it. Kageyama muttered a thank you, taking the bottle from your hand after you opened the lid so he didn’t have to juggle with the package he held.

“How do you know about that, [Name]-san!?” Hinata questioned, eyes shining. “It’s almost like you’re reading minds!”

“H-Huh? I’m just observing, I guess…”

“Really!? That’s awesome!!”

Yachi was right, it’s like being shone under the intensely bright sun if you’re talking to Hinata.

You were juggling between manager duties, studying in your own, and tutoring Hinata and Kageyama for the upcoming test. It’s quite difficult, but teaching others also helped you memorized the material better–that and also finding out terms that could help the two.

“So, ‘to’ is helping in referring on where do you want to go in this word here.” You explained, circling the word. “For example, ‘I want to go to the gym’.”

After tutoring both Hinata and Kageyama for some time, you learned that the two would literally remember anything if it’s sports-related–especially volley ball. So, it became your best shot in cramming the materials into their head.

“I see!” Hinata exclaimed, furiously writing down the correct form of sentence, while Kageyama nodded enthusiastically.

“Oh, it’s already this late,” you muttered as you looked at the clock. “Time sure flew by.”

“You’re right!” Hinata followed your line of sight. “I guess it’s time to go home! Thank you, [Name]-san! Your explanation is really easy to understand!”

“I’m glad I could be of any help,” you smiled in return.

“And after this, we’ll go to Tokyo together!” the orange haired boy exclaimed. “You’re coming too, right, [Name]-san!?”

“Uhm, about that…” You honestly didn’t know how to respond–you couldn’t be a trial manager forever, it’s either completely reject the idea or finally joining as an official member. If you did join, do you even have a role in it? There’s Shimizu and Yachi already, there’s no need for a third manager. “There’s already Hitoka-chan and Shimizu-senpai, right?”

“Yeah! You should join too!”

“Do I really have a place there?” you questioned out loud. “I mean… do I can really be of any help? Two managers are already enough, besides I don’t have anything to offer to the team either. I can’t do anything important to help the team grow stronger…”

“What do you mean!?” Hinata’s shriek almost made your heart jump out from your chest.

“Filling water bottles, washing bibs, mopping the floor, tidying the balls, it’s all important.” Surprisingly, Kageyama was the one who spoke. “It’s simple but important. Without it, we will have double work and it’s exhausting.”

Hinata nodded vigorously. “Kageyama’s right!”

“Do you really need to do something grand to join something?” the raven-haired then questioned. “While you think it’s nothing, the others don’t think so. The one who judge whether your actions leave a mark or not isn’t you, it’s the team. So, quit overthinking. Do what you want.”

It’s like being doused with cold water–it slapped you awake in an unexpected way.

“I guess I will,” you smiled, heart feeling lighter than before. “Thank you, Kageyama-kun, Hinata-kun.”

“So, we’ve finished our exams and starting today, Yachi-san and Otohaku-san will officially be joining us as our managers.”

In the hot summer day, you found yourself back in the gym, but this time standing beside Sawamura and a fidgeting Yachi. She didn’t seem to be uncomfortable, maybe it’s a new feeling of excitement for her–you completely understand because you felt the same.

“Here,” Shimizu went up to the both of you–handing identical black jersey which the team also owned. The inky black material with white broderie sent torrents of emotions towards you, instantly the corner of your eyes felt as if it was burning.

“Ready, and-“

“Welcome to Karasuno High School Volleyball Club!!”

You found yourself bowing ninety-degrees, hugging the jacket tightly against your chest. “It’s a pleasure working with you!”

Double Life Species Swapped 2!

So, this little post will go into the semi-complicated nature regarding the swaps of Martyn, Cleo, Scott, and Pearl.

 As I’ve stated before, all four of them have seemingly swapped with each other. These swaps shall either settle with time or grow worse.

 Martyn:

 Half of Martyn’s body becomes zombified (his arm and leg of opposing sides rotting away). Alongside his body, half of Martyn’s face has also turned a dull grey as his eye becomes all ghoulish. 

 Besides this swap, Martyn’s body has cooled down quite a bit (but hasn’t changed to frost Martyn yet) as feathery/scaly wing nubs grow from his back. 

 Martyn surprisingly still has his deer tail and ears. But, another change that has effected Martyn is that one of his antlers have changed to a dragon horn.

 Cleo:

 Half of Cleo’s body has returned to being human. While her heart now beats, she’s still relatively dead (she ain’t letting the living world drag her back without a fight). 

 Like Martyn, her opposing sides are what seem to be changing. Cleo’s face also seems to match Martyn with the odd split between life and death.

 Besides returning to half-life, Cleo has grown a pair of slightly curly horns and owly wings. Cleo also has claws for hands now. 

 She doesn’t really share many traits from Pearl except for some moons that appear in her eyes and dotting her skin (maybe also some scales and a long tail) Haven’t quite decided).

Scott:

 Scott’s managed to grow horns, a long, draconic tail, and his wings are now more scaly (which goes against his aesthetic but he’ll make it work). He’s also gained a strange, unshakeable feeling of being watched at all times.

 Also, Scott’s hearing has increased by a significant margin. It was already pretty good due to his feathery ears but still.

 Besides this, due to Scott’s connection to Cleo, his arm has begun to rot away. Scott tries to hide this information; however, Cleo learns it almost immediately (Pearl following soon behind).

Pearl:

 Pearl.... Well, Pearl taken traits from everyone in the quartet (including herself). Pearl’s skin has begun to rot away in spots (kind of like the split described before) However, it’s not that well maintained). Pearl’s legs had shifted to become one owl talon and one cloven hoof. 

 Pearl’s wings have gained holes and a feathery edge lining the top. She can fly mainly because of the Watcher blood that still runs through her veins.

Pearl’s tail actually remains the same as do her eyes. 

Pearl's also quite feral. She still has those wet cat vibes though (technically a dragon-deer-owl-zombie).

 So, this AU is mainly set within the first session. I admit that I haven’t watched much of session two but will eventually.

 I will come up with solid designs of everyone pretty soon. On top of that, I’ve got some oneshots planned.

ok so u know like back in the gravity falls fandom there was that really popular au called monster falls where everybody got turned into some sort of monster/mythological creature? i fucking love that scenario and have been making my own little “everybody gets cursed by a witch or something so now i get to draw these fun designs” aus for like everything i like (never did it w tma oddly enough? good inspo just never struck.) so here.......is..........this. not everybodys pictured here but go under the cut for a list of what everybody is plus some extra notes and stuff

brian - CENTAURRRR also again. yes. i know i went 4 horse for him in the furry au. its just good and has fun brian vibes. wanting to draw centaur brian was the thing that led to this au happening

ivy - ELDRITCH SOMETHIN OR OTHER...idk what youd call that exactly. but you get the gist. cosmic horror, eyes, unfathomable patterns and things. doing the deep dream stuff for her in that picture was very fun and im very happy w how it came out...definitely something to revisit in the future. not sure how i wanna draw her when...not doing a whole colored digital thing, but well cross that bridge when i can draw again

jonny - he’s. he’s a devil? a little demon guy? like. yeah. of course. this guy was fucking meant to have little wings horns and a cute little demon heart tail. he has somehow become MORE bastardly

marius - VAMPIRE MARIUS ONCE AGAIN HES JUST FUN. hes just fun and the aesthetic suits him. i cant wait to draw him in a fun little cape with one of those big dramatic collars you know the ones. vampire marius is of course @ alientoastt’s idea!!

nastya - BANSHEE...or ghost in general but there some banshee stuff i feel could be fun to integrate. apparently in some tellings banshees can turn into crows? i love that very much. but anyways hmm..some notes abt the design in thsi post shes not quite where i want her to be. this was done on that collab canvas the other day and like...was mostly noodling things out having fun, those flamey looking bits are a very nice motion very fun to do but NOT wwhat i want for ghostya. i want her to be more. drippy. very drowned person vibes. fire and upward-floating motif not what i want. but it was fun to draw. also i think theres some potential comedy in there with “person who predicts deaths” among crew who habitually murder each other

raphaella - SOMEWHERE BTWN HARPY & SIREN (the bird kind not the mermaid kind) very excited abt her. lots of fun potential poses here. doing her design was a bit tricky- sirens tend to be just like- big birds with human heads? but i didt wanna do just that that takes away too much of her design recognizbility yknow to Just have her head. so she has a people torso, bird from the waist down, plus her arms are wings. which means she has Two pairs of wings. which i for one think is incredibly fun like you remember in httyd2 valka’s dragon w the four wings? yeah. also avent figured what bird in particular shell be based on- for the ufrry au i went w african grey parrot but dont feel like that here. ill think on it

tim - WEREWOLF TIM DUH. DUH. also i think werewolves are especially funny in scenarios like thse cus like- okay everybody suddenly ahhh cursed ahh monster whatever. but then tims just there like. i mean i feel fine lol and u get to have the fun surprise of Oh Suddenly Werewolf. also the question of how exactly werewolves who change based on the moon function in a. spaceship. i like to think its entirely fucking random i think thats funny

as for story type things like how. this happens. frankly i dont know thats not my forte. but the little bit of whatever ive got going on my head has the Terrific Trio of ivy marius & raphaella doing Research Science Whatever down on a planet somewhere get into contact with a Cursed Artifact or whatever the fuck and eventually get back to the aurora like. oh. uh. it happened to you guys too, huh. but thats like whatever honestly im not in it for the writing im here to draw fun centaur man etc.
