Louis might not be chucking bricks at No. 10, but people are responding like he’s never displayed leftist politics or challenged a government position on anything. He supported demands to the government about a fix for UK touring musician post Brexit and Marcus Rashford’s petition about food insecurity. He fought the police about their social media use in 2018 and criticised the UK government position/support for factory workers in the pandemic. The things he speaks about are usually UK issues and meaningful to him or his family and friends. He’s also most likely to speak when he isn’t working. Also that specific anarchy has a punk anti authoritarian message as well. That statement fits Louis pretty well. He has been a poster boy for not sitting down and shutting up and doing what you’re told since 2012. If he was he probably wouldn’t have a solo career and he definitely wouldn’t have sold out the O2.
I like this point about him speaking out more when he's not working, I think that's a really great and useful observation and makes so much sense.
I feel like it makes sense in two ways right now: like first, I don't blame him for not wanting to do things that would jeopardize how beautifully everything is going for him right now after the number of setbacks and troubles he's had to get here, it must feel so precarious. And knowing for a fact that any political statement you make will spawn a dozen tabloid stories and all kinds of outrage is bad enough, but add to that the fact that it's simply impossible to predict which thing will turn into a huge viral mess- it's a lot. And second, he's not just working, he's been on TOUR! I've been around musicians my whole life and one constant is that tour is time outside of normal time and life, it's a bubble, it's only paying attention to right where you are and what's in front of you and the people there with you and everything else is put off and neglected, is for when you get home (and have massive post tour letdown depression and fatigue). I'm not saying he can disconnect with the outside world entirely... but putting everything on pause? I would be surprised if it were any other way, and I would be surprised if he's been following the news and counter news and so forth closely enough to feel comfortable speaking out publicly about anything when it will be so scrutinized and picked apart.
I would add to your list supporting the rail strike (something we wouldn't even know about if it hadn't been tossed in as an aside by an interviewer in the print only version of a piece, he didn't post about it or anything) and attending and posting about the BLM protests (not to mention telling people to pirate his stuff come on how punk is that), and I agree he is much more likely to speak out about UK issues which makes sense: most people are most moved by issues that are close to their lives in some way, and it's his brand.
And I agree that even though as an anarchist I love talking about what anarchism as a political ideology actually is, the symbol does also have a common meaning in the world as just basically standing for anti-authoritarianism, and Louis as a guy who rejects authority and the status quo is nothing new at all and one of the reasons we love him, and in the last few years I feel like he's been going further in that direction both aesthetically and politically, and we love to see it! Plus he has pretty much always sported this slightly punky aesthetic to some degree, even when he was being dressed up like a little ken doll he snuck in skater looks and indie band tees and so forth (something something it's part of why his fanbase was so primed to love his new sound and it wasn't the risk he feared it was because people were always drawn to him who were already into that aesthetic even when his sound wasn't that yet) it's not like it's just a brand new out of nowhere side of him or something.

My thoughts on jewish politics are nuanced and convoluted in many ways, but if somebody comes at me with the idea of categorizing my thoughts as being in line with the "good jews" or the "bad jews," you've just got to assume I'm not One Of The Good Ones.

Man sometimes I make the mistake of reading the notes on a post (don’t do it) and like… this truly is the piss on the poor website.
No one has any reading comprehension and no one can clearly state what they mean. Everyone is so ready to argue at the drop of a hat. No one can make their point with clear language, and then seem to be incapable of rewording a statement if someone doesn’t understand them. Everyone immediately descends to insults upon disagreement, whether real or imaginary.
Debate classes should be mandatory in school is what I’m getting at.

frankly I do wanna make more content of them i am just a tired blob with a full time job and have trouble remembering to have fun with art and not get frustrated with the sketch not coming together or get my brain together enough to write wheezes
tho speaking of since you pointed out the art I do have a smattering of fics as well! (a total of 7; largely drabbles and a novella sized multichapter one) ... also planning on making more but also brain is not pulling together enough to get anything written because the Big One:tm: WIP is at a complete standstill and I refuse to let it die.
but yeah welcome to the club shakes ur hand somehow we're the rarepair despite how OBVIOUSLY they were made for each other and bring out the best and worst of each other and- (I am dragged away before this gets any longer)

that’s so disheartening especially since as someone who is really into board games there is A Lot to be said about the legacy of colonialism and racism in the board gaming community and how resistant it’s been to change historically but ugh. literally all the colonialism in main stream games is early european empires/soviet expansionism. i really wish the talk was going to be available online because i would love to be enthusiastic about work talking about how frankly problematic a lot of board games are but the graphic is uh. not making me feel good about it!
How leftists ignore and don't care about colonialism when it's not just Evil White People™, especially arab colonialism, is really frustrating. Anyway, another excellent YouTuber to the pile. I'm running out of good creators to watch and I'm constantly scared about who will be next.

Nonnie, if you’re out there. I blocked you. I hope one day you can get off your high horse and see that you don’t have to and aren’t in the position to make judgment calls on which atrocities are worse. If your answer to concerns about anti-semitism (in reference to these protestors or other) is to devalue or downplay a certain group of people’s suffering, then you really need to rethink your morality.
I have no problem understanding how fucked up it is that so many Palestinian citizens are dying. That’s a really fucked up situation that I have no control over. Same, mind you, as the many other atrocities happening around the world, that the current trend activists are ignoring. The reality is I don’t have even enough info to give a sound judgment call on that situation (as many Americans here DON’T and it’s always amazing to me the lack of grey area anywhere in politics these days), however, I HAVE seen the antisemitism increase in my area. That I CAN have an opinion on. And that really REALLY pisses me off. And I find it astounding that these so called activists can claim racism/genocide while condoning and supporting Hama’s actions. It really takes a good lack of self awareness to support Hamas. And use the famously fucked up quote “from the river to the sea” (no, no one cares how you’re trying to reclaim it)
Furthermore, shit like this actively turns people against your cause! I hope you realize that! So you’re not helping Palestinian people either. You’re just making everyone else angrier! 🙃 so, yes, hope you and people like you can understand that one day.

I don't understand how there are people still supporting your content after it's clear you are an emotionally unstable narcissist. I swear some people care about their dumb fandoms more than common human decency.
First - I refuse to let my lore posts, drawings and theories be called 'content'. I protest. It is a very soulless term that reduces creativity (the very expression of the soul, mind you!) to some sort of shallow and more importantly, replaceable good. "Why you consume the content from this PROBLEMATIC :( person" in the same vein as "Why you buy your car fuel from an unethical corporation" is absolutely absurd in any way, because creations are not physical goods but something unique.
Second, you seem to be confused on what the fandom entails.
Being a fan of something, in fact, doesn't... really entail all that much? Being a fan of something doesn't, and will NEVER mean that you subscribe to certain cultural, religious, political or humanity values or opinions, it will NEVER be only for the ones the loudest people in the crowd deemed "right" and "pure" enough, and certainly it will NEVER be only for people with clear history *cough cough* or people of "proper" mental state *COUGH cough*.
The only, and only, and only, and ONLY "requirement" for being a Bloodborne fan is - to care about Bloodborne. Ironically, this is something people I tend to become antagonists with often fail at, as there is a difference between 'Bloodborne fan' and 'Mariadeline fan that knows nothing about BB lore and holds only interests in how to shame men more and what kind of fans to declare "problematic"' *COUGH COUGH* god sorry guys, got a bad cough attack during this ask fhdhgfds
But, again, I think we the people that obsess with this or that media came to the conclusion that gatekeeping leads to another extreme - the whole thing with shaming artists that draw something not accurate, and think something not 100% correct to the canon is 'dirtying' the canon. You know, the whole 'oh you are fan of X band? name 40 songs' thing. So I think gatekeeping should be avoided unless someone appears who is both completely uneducated about lore AND tries to set their own rules.
*COOOOOUGH COOOOOUGH*
But, yeah. Your confusion is likely caused by the fact that people who like Bloodborne... love to read about Bloodborne, and not about what user should be blacklisted and what character is this or that identity and what this or that character is "problematic" etc. I object the idea that certain game/movie/book/etc is only for "right" kind of people and I think we as society at this rate are capable of separating interaction with the fictional universe and personality/personal lives.

🍄(nes im being silly again)
🍄 A hill you will die on
Media literacy is close to dead in this day and age. Obviously, some people can still read media and have complex thoughts, but a lot of people do not. This is especially evident with the war going on between Gaza and Israel right now.
99% of the time, war and news in general is not black and white. You cannot simply paint one side as 'bad' and the other as 'good' the world is so much more complex than that.
ESPECIALLY THIS WAR, OH MY GOD. As a journalism student, right now this entire thing is making me scream, and I'm hesitant to even comment on it just because of how complicated the entire situation is and how eager people are to jump to conclusions if you DARE critique whichever side they have labelled as 'the good guys'. Wake-up call: neither side is good, this isn't a video game.

solemn vow to never be complacent or meek around things i feel strongly about again — to at least start the conversation even if i don’t have the words to talk back exactly to a poisonous idea — in kind, to pick up the thread if someone else does the same — tired of letting evil shit unfold —

The money lost can not make a diference to Taylor Swift, but it sure as hell makes a diference for the stores...
Btw Taylor was not the person who sued, the guy that owns the wharehouse was the one that pressed charges and aparently the guy who got arrested had previous problems with stuff like these, so it's probably not just this robery...
ah, okay, thank you for the info! I also did not mean to insinuate that Taylor Personally Put That Guy In Prison because I already assumed her/her team most likely were not the one to press charges. And also an interesting fact about the previous robberies. Still, I was put off by the way people treated this as a 'she does not play!' moment or whatever. The average social media user likely also didn't know about the previous robberies, and so the reaction IS to the mere info that he received 8 months for stealing 10 vinyls, and to celebrate that feels a lil odd.
