how the moment where he decides to tell Tashi that he wants to retire is shown with a slow pan down his body with the open closet in frame, and then focus on his wedding ring…. then Tashi looks large in frame while he looks very small… and there’s a closeup when he says “I’m tired,” and then right after that there’s this specific shot of him framed as being in the closet as he starts saying, “I don’t want to be one of those guys who doesn’t know when to walk away, okay, it’s embarrassing to still be doing this shit when you’re 40.”

which is a conversation that happens a few hours after…

“Well, I don’t miss playing with you, man. I’m too old for it.”

I wanted to draw Tubbo patching up Ranboo. I think we generally talk about Ranboo patching up him or just helping him with his scars, but I wanted to explore a more somber look at the alternative. What I couldn't draw was the faint sound of the radio in the background, the host rambling about stars and our existence between them. What I couldn't draw was the warmth of the bathroom, so that none of them would be cold. What I couldn't draw were the apologies muttered into Tubbo's hair...

thinkin bout that "too many hats in game design" post.

I love to collaborate. most of my game design career has been collaborative. the problem is everyone's a game designer, and far fewer people are layout artists and editors and marketers and the like (in my experience). and at a certain point of collaboration, if you're the only one with a certain skillset, you ONLY get to use that skillset and there's no time for anything else.

not sure where I'm going with this except that I've been thinking about how much I love layout design but how I also don't love it enough to give up the part of game design that is actually designing the games.

the worst thing about Having your work published or performed or whatever is the fact you have to make it palatable to other people. i'm considering taking out a joke that has been in the show since the first draft because i'm like. does this even contribute to the story? JOKES CAN JUST BE JOKES!!! and yet i've convinced myself it needs to be taken out. oh my god. i can't do this

saw a house today that i loved and which is perfect for me so there's a 99% chance I will not get it. i am trying to remind myself of all its flaws and disadvantages so that i'm less sad when that happens but the only one i've got that's actually halfway convincing is that it has an old-fashioned gas oven and i've only ever had electric ovens so that scares me a bit (gas hobs are fine but ovens, eek). otherwise it's exactly what i wanted. perfect size. great location. in my price range. has the furniture i don't own and doesn't have the furniture i do own. has a bath. it even has the kind of fridge-freezer that's 2/3rds freezer and only has a very small fridge section which is perfect for me personally because i never eat fresh food but love to freeze things

anyway the second i walked out of the viewing i emailed them to express enthusiasm and they HAVE NOT REPLIED and i will be calling them at 9.15am on monday morning if i don't hear before then to be like. please. i will literally pay you six months' rent upfront. give me the house. PLEASE
