isn't it fun having a fuck ton of last-minute shoppers ask you stupid questions like, "do you guys sell fully cooked prepacked turkeys that you can just throw into the oven?" i love it so much.
OKAY. FUCKIINNNGGGG. UGH. EVERYONE SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO THE DAY I HAD.
so i arrive at work (gocy store workers of the world unite btw). our whole cooler section is WIPED out. okay fine. i get it under control. come to realize we BARELY recieved any cheese. we got maybe a few boxes of shredded cheese and that was that. okay fine. how many thanksgiving dishes need shredded cheese anyway? APPARENTLY A FUCK TON. WHITE PEOPLE LOVE CHEESE.
at around 8:50 theres already a HUGE line by the doors. the parking lot is packed. and im like. 😐 sigh. okay fine. whatever, nothing i cant handle. i go grab our instacart phone (for online orders). only 11 orders on the docket. suspiciously normal...
i go into the orders to check out the workload. ONE OF THESE ORDERS IS OVER 200 ITEMS. for a store like target or hyvee thats probably normal. for a small tiny store like us, THATS FUCKING INSANE. thats the biggest order ive ever seen. GO TO COSTCO FOR THAT SHIT. DO NOT COME HERE.
this bitch with the 200 items wants 12 BAGS OF EVERY SHREDDED CHEESE. YKNOW... THE CHEESE WE DONT HAVE. She also asked for the biggest yams we had which isnt a problem but like. ugh. SHE STILL NEEDED A WHOLE TURKEY. ITS THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING AND SHE STILL NEEDED HER TURKEY.
HAVE YOU EVER COOKED A FROZEN TURKEY? ITS SUPPOSED TO BE THAWING FOR AT LEAST LIKE 3 DAYS BEFORE. AND SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO REQUEST "THE BIGGEST ONE YOU HAVE." THE BIGGER TJE TURKEY, THE LONGER YOU HAVE TO LET IT THAW.
COME TO REALIZE: WE DIDNT GET OUR FREEZER PALLET ON TRUCK THAT MORNING.
yeah i actually didnt have to finish that order, someone else did, but like. god. i have no idea if that lady got her turkey or not. anyways. yeah everybody do your thanksgiving shopping the week before. :)

i have thought that the sun was made to twine in between your hair, that you are a storybook adventure protagonist brought to life, that there is never enough time in the hourglass to swim in the umami sweet of your presence.
i have thought that you are acerbic too early in the morning, that you are always looking at a horizon line that i can follow you to, that you defend so loudly and hug too rarely.
i have thought that i will always like you a little too much (i have thought that this is okay). i have thought that there is no one like you, that poetry is intended for the likes and liking of you, that you eat more pasta than anyone i know (i have thought that this is also okay).
it‘s true i don‘t hug you enough.
it‘s also true i eat too much pasta.
mostly it‘s true that i never like myself as much as when you talk about me. looking at myself through your eyes is healing in so many ways and i never know how to thank you or return the favor.

the romances in hatchetfield fuck me up so bad like. every time. like youve got:
the most normal couple of all time, except one of them always seems to understand when the world is going to end and they inevitably are driven apart by something out of their control.
two grungy teens/young adults who will never get a happy ending so long as theyre together
a woman who everyone forgets and the man who falls in love with her every time he meets her again and again and again.
high school sweethearts haunted by their pasts and sometimes their futures, too.
a nerd and a 'cool kid', who just keep trying to sacrifice themselves for each other despite something interrupting them every time.
romance is not dead in hatchetfield! except for the fact that it usually ends up dying horribly and tragically.

the change from tess being killed by soldiers in the game to the mob of infected coming to the capitol building and her blowing the place up while simultaneously sacrificing herself… like yes she sacrificed herself in the game but her sacrifice in the show just seems so much more meaningful now. it may just be the second episode but the show has yet again proven just how much care and heart has been put into this series. this really is a love letter to the ones who played the game and have connected with the story for all these years like myself. i’m so in love and am just so in awe of this show, it’s like i’m playing the game again for the very first time.
