I'm honestly a bit confused hahaha. Do you know in which year Jeremy and Jean are? like they did mention senior year but doesn't senior year mean the last year? But aren't there years fresman-sophomore-junior-senior? But I remember that Wymack said in book 1 that if Neil will sign the contract he will be his for 5 years. So... they do study for 5 years, no? So is there any other year after senior year or? I'm European, I'm sorry, hahaha.

Also, did Nora mention when will TSC 2 come out? Do we know?🥺

So, for most, if not all, American universities, the years do go freshman -> sophomore -> junior -> senior for the first 4 years. 5th years and any years beyond that go by different names, depending on where you are. For example, where I am, we sometimes call 5th years super-seniors, or they could be referred to as 5th year seniors.

Most American university degree plans are set up to have students graduate in 4 years, but technically, I'm pretty sure anyone can be in college for as long as they want as long as they pay.

In aftg, exy contracts are for 5 years, so the students/players would be spreading out the classes they need to graduate over 5 years (this is why Jeremy says he has very few classes left for his major. Because he spread a 4 year degree plan over 5 years).

So, in the upcoming school year in The Sunshine Court, Jean is going into his senior year (4th year), and Jeremy is going into his 5th year.

Yes, technically, senior year could mean the last year, but it also means 4th year in the US bc high schools and colleges are usually set up so that your 4th year is your last year, so when you go beyond year 4 (which is senior year), you basically just start to add the number year in front of 'senior'.

So in aftg, think of it as freshman -> sophomore -> junior -> senior -> 5th year senior

Jean is a senior, while Jeremy is a 5th year senior.

And as for TSC2 release date, Nora just said sometime later this year. I think she said she's aiming for fall.

Summoning my energy reserves to make a post before the next chapter releases. I reread Chapter 124 and was like 'that's a nice detail where the broken blade of one of Kishward's swords goes flying off and chops down the flaming torch from where it's mounted on the wall' but now that I think about it, it's more than just a neat moment in a fight scene.

It's foreshadowing.

Here's that moment for illustrative purposes.

The torch bracket shows up again at the end of this scene, where Andragoras has just stated his intention to meet with Hilmes in order to speak with him.

These are Sam's thoughts.

That question was what made me go 'Oh!'. Because this scene, at the opening of Chapter 124, is actually backtracking a little from Chapter 123, where we had the start of that dialogue between Andragoras and Hilmes, where Andragoras refers to him as 'brother,' so in that sense, we already know what Andragoras wants to tell Hilmes.

But the conversation's not over. There's more still to come. And Sam's question, positioned next to the remains of the torch where the wall has been blackened by its flame, is leading us towards one more possible subject matter — the truth about the palace fire.

I don't want to derail this post with what Andragoras may or may not be about to tell Hilmes, but if that panel in Chapter 124 was intended to hint at this conversation, it's not the first time a torch has been used to indicate the palace fire and allude to a truth not yet wholly revealed.

This how Chapter 19 ends. Hilmes reveals his identity to Andragoras in the dungeon, but it's not until the next chapter that we come to learn the reason why he hates him so much. And after hearing what Hilmes has to say then, Andragoras laughs.

So far, he's avoided either confirming or denying the rumours about the palace fire. Sam asked the question when he visited Andragoras in the dungeons, but although Andragoras imparted some details about Gotarzes that revealed the truth about Hilmes's parentage, he didn't directly address what happened on the night of the fire.

(This last thought might be a bit of a stretch, but the fight between Kishward and Sam in the underground waterway called to mind the scene where Hilmes infiltrates Ecbatana through those very same passages, especially as there was a moment there that showed us his fear of fire when Gieve hurled his oil lamp at the torch on the wall.)

Hey, so Scribe, I managed to speak with Sutekh the other day, but his energy was more thunderous and chaotic, and it was kinda headache enducing. Like, it didn't bother me, but what I worry about is if this is normal to have with deities is experiencing a different type of energy level with him? Is being multi faceted a normal thing?

In the little time I worked with Sutekh, his energy had a similar effect on me. It felt either thunderous (that word really fits) or a scorching-sand kind of feeling. It wasn't easy to get used to his energy as it was a bit changing every time… probably to make me get used to different energy levels. Sutekh is nice, but also (from what I experienced) is always very direct and won't "sweeten the pill" if you need to learn something.

From what I experienced with my practice, it's normal experiencing a different type of energy level with Sutekh, but also with other entities, so in my opinion, the multi-faceted thing is normal. They could "hit" you with high levels of energy one day, then other times they'll keep it on the lower side letting you feel that they are around but nothing else.

What got you into writing fanfic in the first place?

I have been writing fanfic since before I was even old enough to know what it really was. I was always day dreaming and drawing pictures inserting my own characters into my favorite stories, or forcing my favorite characters into my own situations (my mother used to transcribe the adventures of various Disney princess for me lol) the first *real* fanfiction I remember writing was in 5th grade for the book Eragon. My childhood best friend and I had a red spiral bound notebook that we passed back and forth and wrote our fic in. In terms of The 1975- I've been a fan of theirs since the Robbers music video started showing up on my Tumblr dash back in like 2014? (I couldn't figure out who I wanted to be more... Matty or the Robbers girl and years later I still in fact do not have an answer for that one lol) And I realized they were the same band that sang the song Chocolate. However, I didn't start posting my writing for them until last year when I was Going Through It™️ and my Bestie encouraged me to use it as an outlet (sorry Fictional!Matty! that's why your life sucks!)

2. What boundaries would you not cross as a writer regarding content?

I don't think I've actually killed off any *main* character or public figure yet and I can't actually see myself doing that? At least in something that I post for public consumption? Honestly that could change though. I don't really have any boundaries I'm not willing to cross because I am a firm believer that fanfiction is still considered art and art is supposed to make someone feel something and even make them uncomfortable. I actually have a fic that I've been working on that I'm hesitant to share because I'm not sure boundaries exist and I don't want to offend anyone (again) 😂

3. Has a fic ever made you cry? And if so, what was it about that fic?

This question isn't fair. I am a cryer, everything makes me cry. I started crying the other day because I love my horse so much (he's totally fine he was just looking super cute and was all happy I brought him carrots.) So yes, lots of fics have made me cry. Anything that I read that I can tell the author poured their heart into writing is honestly going to make me at least tear up and I am not ashamed to admit it. That's why I don't wear mascara on my lower lashes and only wear waterproof eyeliner 😂

4. How do you feel about abandoning fics?

I've only officially done it once, for a Hockey RPF fic that I just, wasn't enjoying working on. Everything else is just on "Hiatus" until I remember it exists again even if it takes years. I don't consider myself a quitter and abandoning a fic that I've started posting kind of breaks my soul. HOWEVER I do have a folder on my Google Drive that's just a graveyard of abandoned and half finished fics that I never posted that I go and visit sometimes.

5. Are there any novel authors you like that have influenced your writing style?

Yes! For sure 100%. However, I am currently sitting here going "I have never read a book before in my life" which is obviously a bold face lie you should see my GoodReads page but not really because there is a ton of my real life personal information on it lol Even though he's not (technically) a novelist (even though he did write a book!) can I say Pete Wentz? He's probably one of the writers I look up to the most. The way he bends words to pen lyrics just... scratch an itch in my brain and I hope I can one day make someone feel the way Fall Out Boy lyrics make me feel and I 100% feel like the flowery way he writes has influenced my to some capacity.

He's seen Kaz in rough shape before, and now isn't an exception. Held prisoner, an arm and a leg gone, his resolve seemingly weakened until Venom showed up. But, despite it all - or maybe because of it all - there's a fire in his eyes that screams, that loudly proclaims revenge. Suffering, torture, pain... And maybe for Paz, too. Venom places a firm hand against his shoulder to keep him from getting up before he's properly tested, treated, and hydrated. A restless unease makes Kaz seemingly unable to simply rest. Venom understand. But there's no use in running an already fucked up body ragged. He'll get nowhere like this.

the days had bled, one to the next; the weeks - a pool beneath his form. first his foot, then his arm ; a pain so sharp it'd felt like razor blades in his blood. every beat of his heart, a plea for death...and yet - kazuhira miller would not die. every scar given unto him, every crack of a whip or ball of a fist - a reason. a reason for revenge; a reason to keep going.

still, when the sun had seared his skin; lips so dry he'd tasted crimson between the cracks...he'd felt himself teetering on the edge. glimmers of death amidst the blackness of the bag that they'd kept wrapped around his head. the grim reaper's icy hands finding their way all over his body, a cold chill contrasting the burn that had left skin, red. cold cuts of fingers that had snapped him from a trance when they'd swiped the bag from his head. an old face - so familiar. gaze near-blind, but forever an eye for the one he'd fought for - pined for - for so long.

he couldn't have asked for anybody else. no other face as worthy as his -

seeing snake had waned off death ; kaz's final reminder to hold on tight and keep on going. so now that he finds himself in something akin to a facility - a shabby hospital bed and makeshift medical supplies, he's weak but once again eager to serve. the hand that warms his shoulder, an unspoken order. one that the blonde would respond to with a press of lids and a hard swallow. a sharp turn of his head; the first thing he sees - an empty space where his arm once was. a depressing reminder of torture. of pain. a constant ache, he'd forever feel.

"i-i'm alright-" his response comes with a croak edged along his lips - a struggle to speak; his only words while in captivity - screams. "i only need-" a groan as he shifts in place, seats himself up despite the agony that rages throughout his form "- a little time. that's all we need-"

his gaze rests upon the other, features analysed though all kaz can see is a blur. shapes he recognises - and shapes he doesn't. alas, pain and anger so strong they overpower any possible doubts. silence them though never cease the whispers from the back of his mind.

"snake-" somehow it feels wrong to say. shades removed so's white eyes can see his old friend all the more-clearly. ( still, he sees hardly anything ). "i wouldn't have wanted it t'be anybody else."

frankly, the people whose kneejerk reaction to bisan asking for a global strike form the 21st-28th is to say that it takes years to organize a general strike are really unhelpful! no one is saying otherwise, but palestine will be a smoking crater if we all wait for years to do anything - bisan is asking us to do something now. Like are we only supposed to do something if we can do it perfectly??? At some point it’s a valid critique about the work that goes into social movement, and at another point I feel like some people are just trying to absolve themselves from not putting any effort into observing a week of economic inaction.

like idk! I get it, okay! People have bills to pay that don’t magically go away for a strike, we don’t have nearly enough social infrastructure in place to support people to fully stop going to work for a week. But fuck, dude! Stop immediately responding in such a defeatist way! Cut out unnecessary purchases! Try to shop local! Put more effort into promoting Palestinian voices online! Attend a protest, call a local rep, do something!

Something I really love about tumblr is that when I say in real life that "yeah I'm writing" or "actually, I wanted to write tonight" or "- in the thing I'm writing, I---", this is somehow a wild piece of information about me as a human being. Which, not to diss on people for showing genuine human interest but I keep forgetting that not everyone has a project. People irl will be like "Oh you are writing? Wow what are you writing about! What are you planning to do with it! Can I read it?"

Now, here on tumblr, it feels like everyone has a "writing" or at least it is normalised enough not to warrant a question. Yes, your writing, I get it. The "wip". The elusive "project" you are working on. Of course you're writing. That's just behaviour. We all do our daily little writing if we are not procrastinating our daily little writing and complain about our procrastinating, Doesn't require elaboration. You can easily never bring up your writing again after first mentioning that you are "writing" because no one is dumb-founded by learning this fact about you - or you can skip the basic "yes, I'm writing, no it's for fun, yes it is a story, yes fiction, yes I enjoy writing' - and delve head-first into the entire psychological depth and tell me all about your symbolism etc.
