Raphael x Jaheira: Leash
A/N: extremely short lol, but inspired by how absolutely damn unhinged Andrew and Tracy got on a stream. And the gorgeous art they inspired. Holy damn, Red is so psycho talented.
Tumblr media
R x J: Leash 18+
Jaheira catches his lower lip between her teeth. “Come now, pretty bird. No songs for me?”
Oh, he croons, preening for her amidst his sea of lavish silks. He is red. Red like the kiss-sucked bruises on his throat, red like his sheets, red like the wine trickling down his throat, tracking down his abdomen. The half-elf digs her knees into his hips, pulling back on the leash as she might with any well-trained mount. He arches, lower lip caught between his teeth, as she traces the path of the wine with her nails.
“And in what tongue would you prefer these songs, High Harper?” the devil purrs. “I do consider myself a—” he gasps, hips jerking as she fists a hand in his hair. “ —most magnanimous host.”
Jaheira considers this, fighting back a shiver as he traces the underside of her breasts. She slackens her grip, and he tuts, disapproving, tucking his face in the curve of her neck. Teeth press against her throat, canines threatening to break the skin. She tugs on his collar, and he hisses.
No marks, aye—that is the rule. Much like any spoiled princeling, he is inclined to break these agreements.
“You might have surprised me.” Jaheira clucks her tongue. “Barely house-trained. Ah-ah. You do not bite unless asked.”
He sinks his teeth deeper, and she grunts, instinctively yanking on the collar, binding him. Raphael bears the abuse, tongue lapping at the fresh wound. He groans. “Such a delicious vintage. Why—I can still taste Demogorgon’s fury on you.”
She laughs, tipping her head back to grant better access. Ah, but let him have this indulgence. Jaheira leads him in a lazy rock, pleased by the way his hips judder when she squeezes him—greedy boy.
“Ah, you would drink from me, then? How generous.”
Raphael tweaks her nipple with his thumb. “Behave, Harper. Even these mighty new friends would struggle to wrest you from my claws—should it strike my fancy.”
She pats his cheek, fighting back a groan of pleasure as she takes him deeper. Raphael’s left-hand settles over hers, still gripping the leash. He presses her back and draws the collar tighter, and it’s all the permission Jaheira needs to push them further. Her free hand settles on his sternum, pushing him back, making him snarl, jerking against this binding.
“Oh, beautiful boy,” she croons, pressing her thumb to his lower lip. “You believe I’d need them?”
He thrusts up into her, long lashes fluttering over his cheeks—he is beautiful. Pleasure coils low in her belly as she wraps the leather around her forearm. Raphael grasps the leash and pulls her down to him. Until they press chest to chest, pace erratic as the half-elf rides him. This joining is a savage thing, teeth bared, swallowing each other’s air as they chase their pleasure. Jaheira finds it…well, it is the simplest sort of exchange.
She strokes his hair in the aftermath, pleased when he presses a glass of fine wine to her lips. They are the sort to linger in the afterglow, neither embarrassed by their nudity. Both are old enough to welcome this…calm.
Raphael digs his finger into the small of her back, honey-colored eyes glittering with mischief. “You will convince dear Tav to reconsider my offer?”
She scoffs. “As if they would listen! These heroes will do as they please. You know this.”
“I know this.” He licks the marks he’s left on her throat. “But the devil will have his due.”

What about tfp starscream with a female predacon reader who becomes smitten and attached with him, wanting him to be her mate. Maybe smut but if you’re not comfortable is fine
Moments Silence
Tumblr media
Pairng: Tfp Starscream x Reader
Reader type: Predacon Femme
Song: Almost (Sweet music)- Hozier
Warnings: Just fluff man.
An: A hozier title and song? Yes pls bb. Also I hoped that this is what you wanted? It's been a hot minute since i've written for this version of Starsceam lol. And honestly I may do a part two of this in the future with smut in it but. I just wanted something sweet for this in all honesty.
Really. It should irritate him more than it did. But in all honesty he found it enduring the way you would look at him with wide optics. The flush of energon clearly visible on your faceplates despite your best efforts to hide it.
It was just something about the way you looked at him as if he hung the moon.
It was nice to be liked for once. To be treated as something other than a failure. Like a wreck of a mech.
"Starscream! Look!" It stirred something in him he thought long lost as you flew next to him. You're voice high and bright as you called out to him. Your optics were glued to the terran sky above. Your optics roved over the stars. The soft smile at your lips as you drank it all in.
Starscream was thrown back into a memory. A different sky. Different stars. A different face.
His spark ached. You were pulling emotions and feelings out of him he thought long buried. Yet here you were. Digging them up by being nothing other than yourself.
You showed such genuine emotion around him it hurt. To show such trust to the SIC of the Decepticon army. What did he do to earn that from you?
The two of you broke through the clouds and back down towards the earth. Landing on cold stone you laugh. Spinning on the spot as you stretched out your wings.
"I am glad you came with me Starscream. Predaking can be such a bore at times." Starscream shook his helm. A smile. A genuine smile pulled at his lips.
"And I am not?" There. That flush again. Such a pretty sight against the color of your paint.
"I. Well." You swallowed thickly. Wings pulling towards your frame as you turned. "We have to go find that relic Megatron wanted." Starscream watched as you walked for a brief moment before following you. Just as quickly had you pulled in on yourself you were already bouncing back again.
"Starscream. Look!" You had bent down and picked something up and off the ground. You turned towards him. A red stone in hand. "I believe that this is Jasper." You pulled his servo into his. "It's the same color as your optics. Here." Gently you dropped it into his servo. A smile lighting your face as you watched him examine it.
Starscream could feel the infectious happiness flow through your field as he deposited it into his subspace. From here it would make its way back to his habsuit to go with all the other trinkets and gifts you had given him.
Terran flowers, crystals, rocks. Even the odd tire or two? it. He found no correlation there.
But it did remind him of her. An old love. A lost love.
He still had that ruby gem in his chassis. The last gift he had ever gotten from her.
Starscream listened as you rattled off everything you had learned about Earth. Gave in his impute on the things you have learned from Shockwave. He could still feel your field around him. Enveloping him in such an intense feeling it made his frame almost rattle. His wings rising and falling as the two of you walked.
His field fluttered at his own seeping joy. When you noticed you all but glowed the brighter.
The two of you glanced at the scanner in your servo when it beeped.
"Oh." You pointed it towards the mouth of a cave. "We seemed to have found it." Starscream looked at you pointedly.
"You're the one with the scanner. That means you found it." The grin that you gave him sent his spark fluttering.
It called out to you. Or at least it wanted to. His spark crying when he held back. He was not ready yet. Not willing to give this feeling a name yet. Not ready to really call it what it truly was.
Instead he gave a smile back. Waved his arm towards the cave.
"After you."
.
.
.
Starscream was undoubtedly going to be going with you on more missions. The relic had been easily won from the Autobots due to you. The relic in question though was currently in the servos of Shockwave who was figuring out just what it did.
As was normal for him after missions Starscream was out of the landing pad of the Nemesis. His energon sat at his peds while he switched the Jasper you had given him between his servos. Clearing off bits of dust and debris as he just. Looked at it.
A gift given out of nothing other than friendship. No strings attached. So unlike any Decepticon of this warship.
Heavy pedfalls had his wings shooting upwards. His frame straightening as he looked to see who was coming.
It was Predaking. The behemoth of a mech was walking towards him.
Starscream rose. Holding the stone in one servo and reaching for his drink with the other. Even though the Predacon was less beastlike now he still made him feel at unease.
Countless times had the predacon tried to make him into a chew toy. Although he wasn't entirely not at fault for that.
"Starscream." Predaking nodded his helm at him. Yellow optics narrowing as he saw the stone in his servo.
"I was unaware you collected such things." Confusion flooded over Starscream for a brief moment.
"I do not. It was a gift." Predaking gave him a knowing look.
"From Y/n I suppose." Starscream scoffed.
"And what does it matter to you?" The predacon stiffened and Starscream's wings flew up. Some baseline attempt at trying to appear larger than he actually was.
"Because she will not cease speaking about you." Preadakings helm tilted. "And she matters greatly to me as my sister." He motioned towards the stone. "Is this the first gift she has given you?" Starscream was silent. Contemplating.
"No. It is not." At that Predaking laughed.
"You do know that is our kinds way of courting?" Courting! "Starscream. Do not play with her spark if you do not feel the same way." Predaking had apparently taken his stunned silence as something negative.
"Hardly beast." Starscream bit back. "I. I was unaware." Suddenly the stone felt heavy in his servo.
"You can give her a gift back. If you feel the same." Starscream's helm shot up. "You have not been as discrete as you think Starscream. As I said. Do not play with her spark. I have been." He paused. "Courteous because of her feelings to you. Do not make me regret that." With that the mech transformed. Falling into his alt mode with wings spread wide.
A gust of air almost pushed Starscream onto the roof of the Nemesis.
Laughter fell from his lips. Pure unbridled joy flowering from his chassis and leaking into the air around him.
.
.
.
It had taken forever to find time to be with you again. His job as commander taking up far to much of his time.
So when he had the opportunity to pull you out onto the field with him again he took it.
You had given him another gift as well when the two of you landed. A little plastic plane that must have fallen from human youngling.
"It looks like you." You had told him with a grin.
He was fiddling with it now while he watched you. Trying to find the courage to give you his gift. One that would be the first of many.
This mission was a simple one. A job that was better suited to giving to one of the vehicons. But he needed to do this.
"Y/n." He called out to you. A laugh leaving him as you turned. Streaks of dust and dirt covered your faceplates. A cube of unrefined energon was held in your servos.
"Yes Commander Starscream?" You dropped the cube on a full trailer.
Starscream vented heavily. "I have a gift for you. My Star." He watched as your wings fluttered a moment. Faceplates flushing. Then.
"A gift?" You lips parted slightly. Wings wrapping around your frame.
"Yes. A gift." Starscream pulled your much larger servo into his own. "A very important gift. One with a lot of meaning." He placed the red gem in the palm of your servo and curled your digits around it.
He watches you as you unfold your servo. Digits still curled slightly as to protect the little gem. With almost tearful optics you close your servo again. Press your lips to each.
"Truly? You mean it?" You search him. Almost as if his frame would hold the answer you seek.
"I do My Star. I do." His breath leaves him when your wrap your arms around his smaller frame. Lifting him into the air as you hug him tightly.
Your twined laughter fills the air. Such joy shared un-ashamedly between the both of you.

TULIN MY CHILD IVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED THAT IS MY SON!!!!!! THATS MY BOY!!!!! lol I love that the game points you towards Rito first bc no matter what the game wanted me to do, I was going to Rito village first bc I wanted to see all my CHILDRENN
Where the FUCK is Kass.
Not me avoiding both the entire East portion of the map in preference of going to Gerudo to see Riju
YOOOOO GIBDOS????? Need the suns song
OH LIGHTNINGGGGGG interesting I am DIGGING THIS and we get to go into Gerudo without disguise???? BANGERRRRRRR
I want my HORSE 🥲 silence my trusty white stallion where art thou
I’ve made it to Hateno and I’m fucking sick of these Koroks, like get up you lazy tree spirit are you fucking KIDDING me
ZELDA’S HOUSE!!!!! IS!!! THE!!!! HATENO!!!! HOUSE!!!! THEY LIVED TOGETHER!!! We been knew but OH MY GOD ITS SO FUCKING OBVIOUS WITH ALL THESE IMPLICATIONS. HIS HAIR TIE. THENEW TUNIC. THE KIDS DRAWING OF ZELDA. I AM GOING FERAL THEY ARE SO GODDAMN DOMESTIC
Yo where the FUCK is Kass.
Okay okay I’m having a time with paragliding so I’m just going to do Rito Village’s thing so I can get Tulin’s power
Lmao they’re not gunna kill off the babies like they did with the last champions…. Right?
LOL OKAY OKAY COOL THEY WONT CRISIS AVERTED but MAN I’ve fucked myself bc it is nearly 5a and my sister is coming over at 8a 💀

I’m loving everyone sending asks and talking to me about this game I love each of you SO MUCH… not as much as I love Tulin and Riju but still LOL
Yo I’m so fucking sad bc of Zelda rn I think I’m just gunna get a shit ton of shrines and explore the depths
THE DEPTHS ARE SO FUN AND COOL!!! I also think I found a temple in eldin ???? COOOOOOOOLLLLL !!!!!
What’s not cool? Yunobo being all macho macho man bruh when that is not the sensitive little Goron I know and love. Marbled rock roast? Sureeee Cuz that’s not suspicious.
Okay I’m going to avoid Zora’s domain and head to the great plateau…. Why the fuck is the Old Man’s Cabin inhabited by the Sheikah what the fuck is this
Okay so the Yiga are just camped out in Akkala too??? Bitches. Next thing you know Kohga is alive and in the depths LMAO
Now I’m going to Zora’s Domain bc it’s my last pit stop before I actually continue the story LOL… scratch that Imma head to Tarrey Town and see how the fam is doin! And !!! Hudson has a daughter!! Guess that answers my question as to how long it’s been between games lmao
I keep procrastinating Zora’s Domain OOOOFT but I’ll go there now for reals—Sidon is engaged??? Man was like “Omg bestie it’s been forevs btw this is my fiancé” like damn okay how long has it been since Link went to Zora’s domain
I’ve been searching for Kass and I’m having major doubt atp 🥲 I want my beloved songbird back
OKAY DUNGEON TIMEEEEE Imma do Yunobo and while I know it wants me to save Riju for last I simply cannot stay away for long so I’ll go there next!
Yo these temples are fire I got majorly concerned with the Wind Temple but it genuinely makes sense to have a more familiar groundwork for players to begin with that’s just different enough that you notice so it prepares you for the more complex classic Zelda dungeon twist the rest of them have
I’m annoyed all of their abilities require me like ‘asking’ their spirits rather than having a function button to summon it at will
Except for tulin bc he is my child and all is forgiven. And Riju bc she’s pretty and I love her
DID I FUCKING MANIFEST KOHGA BEING ALIVE AND IN THE DEPTHS?????? BITTTTCCCCHHHHHH I thought these people be straight up loyal but nah he ain’t dead, just chillin in the depths
Yo I thought I was at the end of the game but nope I find out that the Zelda I’ve been chasing is a puppet WOW who would have guessed 🙃
BUT THE WAY GANONDORF WAS LIKE “using her made it so easy to lure you into traps” like my man KNOWS
Okay okay fifth Sage down and now I’m going to the Hyrule castle chasm
Was no one going to tell me this might be difficult bc I’m just tryna sneak through but that ain’t happening LOL
I’m going to shower and eat dinner and THEN I’ll beat the game
Oh my god we back at the place we started I LOVE FULL CIRCLES
I’m going to fucking sob this has been such a good fight!!! Getting to use the master sword the entire time >>>>>
(Even though i legitimately used a lynel bow and bombs to deal most of my damage to Ganondorf… don’t judge me I am ✨strategic✨ and I only managed fo do real damage if I did arrows, arrows, dodge dodge dodge, flurry rush, backpedal it up)
ZELDA BEING MY HOMIE IN THIS DRAGON FIGHT WE LOVE TO SEE IT !!! She makes me so happy she went straight for Link to save him bc that’s simply instinct
🥹🥹🥹🥹IM SOBBING THIS IS SO FUCKINNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG THIS IS SO GOOD I LOVE HER AND I LOVE THAT WE GET TO DIVE AFTER HER AND ACTUALLY CATCH HER 🥹🥹🥹
Lifting her out of the water… Zelda waking up to the feeling of a warm loving embrace… telling Link “I’m home” and that she has “so much to tell” him… I’m going to need another box of tissues bc I be EMOTIONAL
Awe all the sages pledging themselves to Zelda
Link just being a silent supportive boyfriend bc homeslice can and will do everything to protect Zelda (and okay he already did a ceremony for this but let me have my shipper goggles on)
I’m just going to say it. This might be my favorite game. And I’m a diehard Majora’s Mask fan. Like that’s been my favorite for a WHILE. I miss the simplicity for some of the game mechanics but thoroughly enjoy the new creations we can make. I also understand zonai devices now so when Kass comes in the DLC it’s over for y’all
Anyway botw/totk zelink is canon and no one can change my mind

Ideas for stories and such...
I'm a bit overwhelmed with plot bunnies right now, and I think writing them all out is the best way to get 'em all straight. So... here are a few ideas for future fics I'd want to write. I dunno which one(s) I should focus on first...
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
A Saga Most Ordinary : I have ideas for two more chapters, one about Eivor playing Dungeons and Dragons with the three Good Boys, along with Hytham, Randvi and Tewdwr, and another about her and Valka Staging An Intervention because she thinks Sigurd went and joined some cult because of his new girlfriend (ie Fulke).
Untitled/maybe it’ll just be chapter two of an existing fic, I dunno: A new companion piece/sequel of sorts to ‘Nornir's Curse, Nótt's Counsel’ about Randvi and Valdis just hanging out (on the beach while their respective spouses watch over the young ‘uns) and talking about their (rather similar, really) lives.
Dishonored
Take Your Silver Spoon (Dig Your Grave) : A two-shot about two bastard-born princesses of the Kaldwin line. Part of it is already written, I just need to get off my ass and do something about it lol
You and Me and The Leviathan Makes Three : An AU where Daud survives the events of DoTO, and Billie is stuck trying to find new purpose in her life while teaching a god-turned-boy how to Human and a suicidal old man how to… not be a total wreck of a person . Oh, and the Abbey of the Everyman is falling apart all around them (which makes the Boysider happy, since his two newfound biggest goals in life are 1) to destroy organized religion and 2) to save the whales. Every chapter would be set in a different isle, with titles based on sea shanties.
Dracula
Untitled : A little one-shot about how Drac might have gotten to Mina on the night of October 3rd. Because the details are kinda hazy on that, right?
Final Fantasy XVI
The Tale of the Telamonides : Before the mission to Drake’s Head, Mid shows up to the Hideout to Bring Chaos and Shenanigans to everyone’s live. Because I was sad that we never did see her interact with Cid.
Gravity Falls
Dungeons and Dummies : …I need to finish this you guys, I already have it all planned out. I feel weirdly anxious about this story, mostly because I don’t happen to have the whole of the rules of D&D stamped in my brain (shocking, I know). It’s like I’m afraid I’ll have someone go, ‘hey, that’s not how it goes in the Player Handbook, page so-and-so blah blah blah ’ so I don’t even try, you know?? It’s a weird thing.
The Awesome Mixtape of the Apocalypse: A story where Dipper and Mabel’s parents join both sets of twins on a roadtrip to Gravity Falls. The concept would be that Mabel made a mixtape with songs for everyone in her family (so for example Ford definitely gets weird prog rock like this, listen my dad was a happier, most well-adjusted Ford, and that was his shit, car trips in my family were trippy), with each character represented by a particular musical style (the Pines mom’s got punk ska like Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto lol…) and each chapter corresponding to one song. I got every big story beat and character moment planned out, I just… need to get off my ass and write, I guess.
Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West
Untitled : Aka Aloy watches Varl and Zo together, gets confused/frustrated, and shares a convo with Erend that helps her figure out she’s asexual. Sweet!
Untitled Rost and Ersa fic : Rost and Ersa, as ghosts, hang around Aloy and Erend for the events of the first game (and have a mini ship war about the merits of Ereloy as a couple). Also known as ‘Rost Gets Another Grumpy Daughter Because These Are Sure Fun To Collect Or Something’.
Mass Effect
Untitled : Just a little Shakarian ficlet about Shepard listening to Thane’s story about how he met his wife after the events in Garrus’ loyalty mission and her being like, oh, oh boy, oh no.
Radiant Historia
Will You Learn to Love (Without Consuming): A little one-shot set in the Apocrypha ‘verse which is not compliant with the canon shown in Perfect Chronology. Basically my take on who became the big Mana Monster causing the desertification (and why he’s a foil to both Heiss and the Conuts Guy).
Déjà Vécu : A one-short about Ernst and Heinrich (and, by association, Stocke and Heiss) because I guess that’s what I always write about in this damn fandom.
This Sweet Corrupting Reality : Basically the only parallel history I would have liked to see in Perfect Chronology, that is, Stocke wakes up and realizes he is now King Ernst of Granorg.

if you have more modern rap suggestions i'd love to hear them! i really dig 90s/00s underground rap but i haven't found a lot of new stuff that scratches that same itch.
Lemme come back to this later because I gotta go light some stuff, but yeah, pretty much that's just kinda how it is. In terms of west coast hip hop, kendrick and earl have been holding down the lyricism department for a good ten years now (side note: absolutely criminal we never got them on the same track, and I think we're well past the point in both their careers where it would even make sense, but they're big fans of each others work lmao). Earls old shit (I'm thinking of Doris mainly, and somewhat I Dont Like Shit I Don't Go Outside) is more grungy and old-school sounding, but also he was young and Odd Future, so there's a lot of misogyny, shock horror ass lyrics with violence against women as a main theme repeatedly (which he's since recanted aggressively and last I saw he mostly makes fun of fans of his earlier music and by extension himself for being like that lmao), his new stuff is more mellow but also less bar heavy (just imo, some people love it even more). Mavi is someone I haven't had the time to get into much but heard recently, and he literally just sounds like 2013 Earl vocally, but with some solid modern bars and production, so that's nice. MIKE is also seemingly pretty earl influenced, but again, haven't got into him myself. They're both east coast tho. Actually calling Earl west coast feels crazy cus he's so heavily DOOM inspired, almost feels like dudes inspired by him being east coast makes more sense lol. Vince Staples is a no-brainer if you haven't heard of him, he's pretty much the exact description of what you're looking for I think. I started with Summertime '06 because that was what he put out when I was getting into hiphop, but his first project Hell Can Wait EP was great too, and he only got better and more artistic from there. I've never been into Jay Rock a ton, but his feature verses on Kendricks shit do a lot for me, and ScHoolboy Q makes mostly just bangers and gang shit but in a fairly old-school kinda way I guess. Not ab soul tho. Everyone on black hippy (the group comprised of those two, Kendrick and him) can get a shoutout except for ab soul. He's ruined too many of my fav songs with wack features lmao.
Freddie Gibbs is another AA rapper that sounds very old school and VERY west coast, but he's actually in the news literally right now about some allegations so maybe fuck him? seems uncertain and also as a fan of old school hip hop you may be less shocked by (especially gang affiliated) rappers being Not Good People, but still, it's 2024 and it'd be nice to bring that energy to hiphop at large.
In east coast terms... Fuck. Who do I even listen to that's east coast lol. Well, Run The Jewels is also a no-brainer, and El-P is NY at least lol. All three of their albums and any of their solo stuff would be great for you. J Cole is to me the epitome of mid, but lots of people who profess an appreciation for the old school seem to like him, so hey. I'd just 2014 Forest Hills Drive as a starting point I think. In the Midwest Chance the Rapper was great, and could be great again. You could start with Acid Rap or 10 Day, move on to Coloring Book, and then just pretend Chance's Big Day doesn't exist like the rest of us. Denzel Curry is solid as hell these days but I've never gotten into a whole project, just singles like Ultimate, RICKY, Walkin, and especially SUMO | ZUMO (iirc I was like "did he just say Zuko lmao" and that's what got me into him). Oh and Your Old Droog is highly spoken of but I haven't gotten into him personally, just no time lol.
Flying Lotus's rap alter ego Captain Murphy is great, I've never listened to one of his full projects tho. Really backpacker ass Kendrick fans have always recommended Ka, specifically Honor Killed the Samurai, to me, but personally I just bounce off it every time. Might be of interest tho. And finally, if you're interested in some more experimental shit, first you should go ask Brett afloweroutofstone (not tagging him but that's literally his brand), but second I'd say CLPPNG by clipping. is a good experimental album with great bars. Also Daveed Diggs was in Hamilton but we just don't talk about that.
Anyway I gotta go do my job but hope this helps!
Edit: rereading this and I realize I absolutely do not have to come back to this lmao. That's pretty much all my good recommendations

WIP Thoughts + Updates
I did some serious cocooning, mental health care work in January (obviously still going on but that was my main focus last month) so I've been finally emerging out of all of that. I've also been writing more (!!) but I also feel like I've made zero progress on things? Which isn't actually true. So this post is a catch-up post in general, plus just a personal reminder to myself to relax and step back to look at what I've been working on!
Bellarke, Rock & Religion + Florida Gothic AU (New WIP, multi-chapter)
The first chapter might almost be done?? Which feels wild to type out but it really might be. I do think this is a story that would benefit from me writing ahead at least a little bit as I go though. The moodboard I shared earlier for the planning remains the same! I will make sure to go back and inject some more moodiness into it, right now the characters are running amok on their own to get their personalities fleshed out and I don't want to interrupt that. So we'll see how far I can get with it but I'm digging it so far!
Hellcheer, Kas!Eddie + Haunting AU (New WIP, ideally a oneshot)
This little thing started out as a song-inspired AU and is quickly spiraling out of control lol. But I'm determined to ride it out, let it be completely indulgent. It's going to have alive!Chrissy and demon/Kas!Eddie, which is a trope I've never really looked at before but it feels right for this. It's going to have some body horror and like, fucked up guardian angel vibes. I'm really loving it, but it's turning out definitely weird and experimental so we'll see how it goes. The important thing is I'm obsessed with it!
Drabble/Collection Updates (Six of Crows Whump Collection + t100 Crackling Fires Collection)
SoC Whump AUs: I've started writing four more of them, with five concepts being prepped. I really enjoy whump but it's definitely had to get into the mood for it at times. Slowly but surely! Crackling Fires: I have four prompts started, at least in outline form! But I'm definitely having to practice reining myself in and not making them too elaborate. I think I need to go back and tweak some of them to be more "scene" focused, rather than "story focused" (can you tell I only ever write long things?)
I've also recently posted a new WIP to my 🌶️ account, so obviously not really getting into that here. But that second chapter is in the works! And I honestly need to just acknowledge it here because it does count as writing, even if it's not something I talk about over here. My time loop AU is paused though, I'm not sure if I like it anymore so it needs to ruminate some I think.
Excited to keep chipping away at these, plus I think I'll be ready soon to get back to some old WIPs as well! I think probably starting with either the dystopian mythology AU or the medieval fantasy one.

Elvis Costello and the Imposters at Golden Gate Theater, SF 6/13/23 Concert Notes
-we missed the beginning of Nick Lowe's set :( but we came in to Los Straightjackets doing a really good jam
-then Nick Lowe came back and did Trombone and Cruel to Be Kind. He really sang great tonight, better than last time I saw him and I loved his little stage mannerisms which were very Carl Perkins, bending his legs and such. Then he said one more song and this song is a story and did I Knew The Bride When She Used to Rock & Roll. During the "When she used to pony" part he kept repeating the same line over and over like a skipping record, and then yelled "somebody stop me!" which I thought was quite clever and funny. He also forgot a line at one point lol.
- On to the other show, they opened with Mystery Dance! A very high-energy version of it, with extra guitar solos or something idk it just sounded great tonight.
-Right into This Years Girl. Love that they did it, thought the way Elvis sings it now is quite strange. Must be a deliberate choice on his part since he can sing his old songs normally when he wants to. His voice was great on all the fast songs, it didn't feel at all like he was falling behind on them tonight, like it sometimes does nowadays.
-At some point Elvis randomly said "Uno Dos Tres Quatro" as like a count in to one of these songs.
-Hatty O' Hara Confidential. He yelled something like "who's scandalous tonight? People in the top row?!". This song always kills live, Elvis Costello has insane flow for no fucking good reason, even with alternate rhythm patterns. At one point he said "confidential" in a fake French accent randomly.
-At this point I was thinking even if the rest of the show sucks, this was worth it.
-Costello told one of his rambling stories. It started with "we were just up in Canada and the border guard, who was a young man, and I call him a young man…because I can, I was very polite to him because he had a colt gun onn his hip, but he read the papers and said "Eddie Costello". So we're thinking about changing the name, it's either going to be "Eddie Costello and His Imposters" *crowd cheers for this option* or "Elvis Money and His Two Tickets to Paradise". *Crowd cheers and calls out what option they want* I toured with Eddie Money and they put us together every through our styles were very different. To be hip with the kids, they made art for the poster where it looks like we're both wearing lipstick. And I'll say, Eddie Money looked a lot better in lipstick than me." (Sidenote I can't believe he said this. Much to unpack). During this whole speech he said fucking and fuck so many times. Then he said it was great that he and Eddie Money were on the same label as a bunch of other greats (I forget which ones he listed but Bruce Springsteen was one of them). The crowd cheered for name-dropping of bands they like. He said "you had to be careful as a young man buying records…you might accidentally pick up something by Rush…or Styx." The crowd started half booing for this dig. "I almost picked up Metal by Pink and His Floyds. The record store cleck said…don't get that one son…you might hurt yourself". He started talking about Bruce Springsteen and how he made America seem so magical with girls in red dresses wind in your hair, and how he picked up a Bruce Springsteen record in 73' and it inspired him to write this song.
-then almost midsentce he went into Radio Radio, like one second talking next second Radio Radio. Loved Steve Nieve's piano part, as usual.
-Elvis Costello said "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Steve Nieve!!!" about 6 gooddamn times during this concert. He introduced the rest of the band about 3 or 4 times. Steve Nieve deserved the extra introduction because they did so many songs as like a duo.
- When I was Cruel No. 2. Elvis sat on a stoll near the piano that has this little sound effect board kinda like the one Gerard Way has and Steve Nieve played the melodica? I did not know he could play that, it was awesome. During the ABBA reference part Steve played a minor key version of the dancing queen riff, it was very subtle and extremely cool.
-they were like a jam band tonight? Jamming on long solos in the middle of songs and it always sounded extremely good, like as good as the Beatles or Jimi Hendrix or something, I was just blown away. Elvis played a couple notes on the piano when Steve was soloing, lol.
- We are All Cowards Now hit insanely hard. The political message came through so clearly it sounded like a prayer, no a plea for peace. When he said "throw down your arms" and held his hands up everyone held their hands up.
- "Anyone here like New Wave music? I hate it, horrible speed-up stuff. I was once accused of playing it, and that wounded me deeply, the type of sadness that comes to you when you wake up at 3 am in the morning, and you can't find your car keys but then you find them, but you don't have a car, and then you find your house keys but you don't have a house". Mistook Me For A Freind, which has such a great high energy live sounds like it could be off this years model.
-Accidents Will Happen, fully as the solo piano version, except for at the very end with the "I knows" we were encouraged to sing along with. What a lovely treat to hear it fully as a ballad.
- Waiting For The End of the world, which rules, but also Elvis did a funny thing were he just said "Waiting" and then cut it off and paused the first time, before after a pause finally getting to the "Good Lawd!" part, like continuously teasing the audice each time as people sang the normal line. The rest of the song simmered down along with the pause, increasing the impact of this bit.
- "Clown Around Town" wound up being a very cute acoustic song. He explained the story that he was looking out at the sunrise in Reno and all they had for scenery was a miserable looking clown statue holding up a drum. He said they should put that on postcards for the town, and then said actually it's a very nice town nice people it's not their fault they left an old clown out in the rain. Then did the song on acoustic guitar, except for the end the band joined in. Loved it, just a cute little song, which was refreshing considering what the rest of the music is like.
- MASHUP OF WELCOME TO THE WORKING WEEK AND WORKING MAN BLUES. Man can they do country, switching styles so easily , and I was so happy to hear one of my favorite songs and a clever mashup too.
-WHAT IF I CAN'T GIVE YOU ANYTHING BUT LOVE! I WAS WORRED THEY WEREN'T GOING TO DO IT. I'm literally in heaven during the solos during this song. Idk what it is but it's just so so good and satisfying to hear. Elvis hit falsetto on end of the second bridge, which was unexpected.
-he sat down in a big red chair, said "a throne fit for a king", random said "I'm colorblind" and didn't elaborate. Panted audibly into the mic an alarming amount, like I was genuinely concerned, then said "I'm not sitting down because I'm tired, it's so that I can look into your wicked souls"
-Said he got the news that he had been dreading but also expecting for a while, that his friend Burt Bacharach had passed away. The crowd audibly :( at this, I guess some of them didn't know and were just now finding out? He said he got the news at while on tour and it was hard to think of doing a show right after that. He said they were working on the remastered collaboration album right before Burt passed away, as something he left them, and Burt still said the track order was wrong. Apparently they worked on and off together for like 30 years? Since the 90s. He then said Burt Bacharach songs were like overhearing a couple talking in some sexy language like Portuguese or French, joked about doing a song in German and how long the bars would have to be to fit in the words, and then said he only learned about two words in Portuguese and they're both in this song, which was Toledo. As like a piano and acoustic guitar piece, lovely.
-He then said they were always doing new takes on old songs because they were trying to find some reason to keep doing this, but the end was near. The way he said that I wasn't sure if he meant the end of touring, the end of his life, or the end of the world. He said it so bitterly.
-Everyday I Write The Book as a slow acoustic guitar and piano ballad. Fucking beautiful, and genuinely so sad and heartbreaking to hear idk why it worked so well.
-Immediately up into a fast song, I forget which one.
-Costello had a couple long guitar solo moments, and they were awesome, he's genuinely gotten so much better on guitar, lots of picking individual strings while holding the same chord and bending it a lot. Simple but effective.
-I Don't Want To Go to Chelsea, Magnificent Hurt, and Pump It Up, lovely high energy section. Dancing in the seats.
- "we've got just one more song for you tonight" this was a lie.
- said "we just learned this song today, I'm getting a bit excited" and did some song about Licorice, which I think is either a cover or new. Very bawdy song, but it was fun.
-to the audience: "We want you individually, and as a group" ???
-I Don't Want You Lyndon Johnson was very interesting. Last year Elvis Costello did a little spoken word bit in the middle of Watching the Detectives called "Invisible Woman" and I noticed parts of the words of that in this. Also just found it pretty funny and listenable, I hope he does another country album I'm liking all these acoustic little songs.
- He invited Nick Lowe back up to the stage?!? I literally freaked out like. I was hoping they would do this last time. They did Indoor Fireworks as a duet, trading off verses, which was beautiful. I was surprised by how good their harmonies sounded - their voices are so different but work so well together. I saw Nick signaling to Elvis to repeat the last verse another time.
-for the second time we were told that there was just one more song, which once again was a lie.
-Whats So Funny Bout (Peace Love and Understanding) as a duet! I've wanted this since they first started touring with Nick Lowe, this rules. Lowe did the "for the children of the new generation" spoken word part perfectly. They started doing this funny little thing where Elvis would move his guitar to one position then Nick would mirror it, like a little dance
- "When we first did this song Nick Lowe wouldn't let me play guitar on it he kept me behind a glass wall in the corner of the studio."
-Allison as a duet with Nick Lowe, it was beautiful with the harmonies, with Lowe doing great on his verse. During the last chords they dropped out and let the audience sing it, and the audience somehow sang Allison perfectly, one of them said "so pretty".
-giving Good Omens vibes with all the songs about the end of the world and especially with Nick in white with normal glasses and Elvis in all black with dark glasses.
-My mom said "this felt like a farewell tour" and that broke my heart because it honestly did. I've literally seen Elvis Costello and the Imposters every year for three years in a row and yet I don't want this to end. But yeah, they could definitely take a break, they tour and release new stuff so much more often than any other band I follow.
- Probably one of, if not the best Elvis Costello and the Imposters concerts I've been to because it was great energy the whole time, and I knew every song (except for the new ones, which were also great). Highlights for me was getting to hear so many songs off of My Aim Is True, This Years Girl, What If I Can't Give You Anything But Love, WELCOME TO THE WORKING WEEK, Accidents Will Happen Ballad version, Everyday I Write The Book ballad version, and Nick Lowe coming back on stage near the end which was like a dream come true.

I’m begging for a Fandom track by track pls
ok ok i've been delaying it for a while so why not for you anon. i have a lot of personal opinions about this one so it's probably gonna be way more biased than other track by tracks lol
cherry red - an intro that gives off this sort of dreamy epic 80s vibe if you weren't paying attention to the lyrics much. he uses a lot of color imagery entwined with the happenings of their relationship to lament it at this point and begin this cycle between mourning the relationship and getting caught up with living with being perceived by the public eye all during this. it's a good intro and i like the instrumentals - 8/10
watch what happens next - see this is one of those songs i'd like better as a song if the message didn't age badly and didn't make cringe really hard. the first lines already Aged. a criticism of fan consumption of their music and their place in the scene as rockers. blah blah blah awsten wants money and doesn't like the need for the rock scene to undersell themselves for approval but also i think some of your expensive clothes are ugly as shit awsten so what now. not to mention the poorly aged second verse about hiphop and genre mixing (specifically with a jealous dig at old town road) considering the other factors associated with hip hop and how the soundcloud emo rap scene of the time slowly evolved into the "emo revival" we see today that bolstered parx's current relevancy tbh (they opened for my chem and are playing wwwy fest this year hello). but anyways as a song it's fine; the sassy guitars pull more punches than the lyrics end up doing and maybe i'm proving the point of the lyrics even if they're poorly aged but god shut up sometimes awsten - 5/10
dream boy - this is legitimately the only fandom song i can listen to regularly LMAOOO. i heard this in public before because they put this on radio disney it was terrifying. anyways back to the song. it's a poppy song about fan expectations and how awsten exists differently in fans' heads than in reality. i think this is one of the few songs that i think hit the mark of satirizing fans completely bc. i won't lie i do this completely whoops (i'm an rpf writer and run this blog what else do you expect of me). i don't think some fans realize the irony of using this song against each other whenever some awsten related drama comes up considering they usually have an even more warped view of him but. i digress. also justice for glitter times your pre chorus will forever live on here... - 8/10
easy to hate - another song about the breakup hence all the color imagery and apparently originally a friendly reminder song. not much to note here; it's a catchy little song that plays with some of the elements he used to write about ciara in the past to get this anti love song. i guess you could argue the chorus could also apply to parasocial relations hence the music video and everything but yeah. fine song. intro synths remind me of an old ringtone. - 7/10
high definition - i get the ode to imogen heap's hide and seek with this song and i can appreciate that but for me it's just so...eh. lyrically it's a song that follows awsten's struggles with trying to find love in a post-ciara world. there's some interesting lines here and there but nothing truly hits for me and sometimes i think about the lyric "now i'm canceled, i'm whatever" at random times and cringe.
not to mention the extreme cringe i get from what he said about the song in the rocksound track by track:
There’s a song that’s all, ‘Back then hoes didn’t want me, now I’m hot hoes all on me’ [Mike Jones’ ‘Back Then’] – but not in like a bragalicious way. It’s an, ‘I’m like really lonely, I hate all of this’, kind of way. It’s like that.
why. you do not have hoes. shut up. get ready for more of awsten's white ass making cringey rap references bc there's one later on none of us are gonna like. i think i have personal beef with this song bc i had a sign for wwdff at my show, he looked at it, and then he did this in complete and nothing else. - 4/10
telephone - a love song (about some girl he never talked to at a target). considering he has all this written about a person he made up traits in his mind, it makes sense why all the true love songs by parx are probably just about the concepts of people that aren't technically real if you think about it. musically, its piano riffs takes its cues from 60's pop before evolving into this sparkly fun chorus. tbh it's just fine to me and i used to think the obsessive love song thing about a stranger was weird but now i've written 10x more messed up fanfic about him so i can't even judge that too hard. blah blah can also tie into themes of fan perception and falling in love with a concept once again yeah i think it's just a fine song. i just like when otto says the ending at live shows. - 6/10
group chat - this isn't even a fuckin song. and according to the genius lyrics page this is what it means:
He strongly implies that the song is about fake friendships between famous figures, where people may often pose as friends purely for the sake of sharing it online. This phenomenon that has grown more rampant in the modern world as those in the public eye partake in this practice as a means of boosting popularity on social media. This also occurs within the music industry itself, when companies chose to featuring artists purely to maximize the buzz surrounding the song.
i'm just more focused on the fact that this is the first time otto's been mentioned by name in the parx discography and it wasn't even by awsten. isn't that fucked up. - n/a (not a fuckin song)
turbulent - i can distinctly remember my first time listening to this with my friend after choir class and we both came to the same conclusion: the song was stupid except for the ending when he stopped singing. this is still how i feel about the song. that opening line is so goddamn stupid and i still don't think patrick stump knows he's in this song or who waterparks is. did you know if ciara didn't like fall out boy as much he probably would've compared himself to ryan ross and brendon urie? nightmare. this is one of the songs i pit to at live shows because when you pit, you don't actually listen to the song. it has better energy live than it does recorded but i'm not rating the live version though. i think the production is much cooler than literally anything else in this stupid song with it's breakcore beats and random dogs - 5/10
never bloom again - remember when awsten teased this song for years saying this song would be the one making people cry and now years later no one talks about it that much. "all the girls in los angeles look like you from a distance", honey you date the same blonde clone with different mental illnesses every time i don't know why you're so surprised at this. i think there are some interesting lines here and there, i just feel like its strengths are staying simple in its verses because the chorus feels kinda corny with the extra stuff on top of everything because of that cervini style of big production. - 5/10
i miss having sex but at least i don't wanna die anymore - i miss when this title leaked and we thought this was fake. i hate this song and everything it stands for i'll just say it. the true beginning of awsten using annoying blunt lyrics out of fear of being misinterpreted because media literacy in most places has gone downhill and it's supposed to be honest by making fun of what fans want of him as well as airing out his relationship in a way. god he sounds so annoying in here and i get that's supposed to be the point but goddddddd. musically it's just some pop folk song but none of you care about that i know you want to know the other stuff. this song is probably the start to the end with it going viral on tiktok and beginning the divide between fans that became fans through the scene and fans that found them through tiktok. i fucking hate this song and its impact on parx today and the fact that it's their most popular song and a mainstay of the setlist will forever make me bitter because they have so many better songs and also christmas is more popular on tiktok and he still refuses to play it because he is a pussy - 0/10
war crimes - ok back to songs i can stomach. a driving song about awsten dealing with his peers in the scene and his isolation with his real friends being back home in texas while he moved to la. along with this, he still has to balance his feelings with the breakup all while being perceived by the public. it mostly deals with awsten truly having to become independent of all of these things and stand up for himself (no i still don't know who the coke thing is about there's too many people). musically, it shifts a lot of different ways from the light chorus to the more brooding verses. good song. - 7/10
[reboot] - he's white boy rapping again. this is never a good thing. it's literally just a breakup song again shocker. throws a lot of digs at ciara with wordplay that i can't really hear unless i read the lyrics because it sounds he's scatting. i just remember this song bc i remember he made a whole deal about how he was trying to avoid being misogynistic on this album bc of the subject matter (specifically calling girls a bitch) and then he used the chew toy metaphor to indirectly call her a bitch anyways. yeah. i think some parts of the production are interesting specifically the stuttering halts in the second verse but other than that. whatever. - 3/10
worst - i remember when the original demo leaked because it was around the same time of the felony steve mixtape. it was a weird time. has some of the Lyrics of All Time and i mean this in a bad way. remember when i said awsten makes some cringy rap references this is one of the ones i mean:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
why. why. why. this is not a line that works when you're white. i think the chorus in the album version sounds more interesting at least production wise. does that mean it's a good song? no. this is a song that makes me hold the bridge of my nose and go "oh god why this is clearly something you wrote in the moment" - 4/10
zone out - a chiptune reprise of the dream boy chorus. awsten says that putting it at this point in the album is meant to come off sarcastic, but to me i feel like it sounds more defeated than anything. more of a "what now?" moment. i like it, sue me. - 6/10
i felt younger when we met - the beginning and ending to the cycle of his relationship with ciara and his fans watching. here, he mourns the things he misses about her and the things he did for her. it's the emotional core of the album combining the heavy electronics strung throughout the album with the big guitar led chorus leading the album back to the beginning because things just don't stop at that point. it's a great closer that does its job of being the emotional crux of the album of losing someone you end up making up and missing over and over - 8/10
i'll be honest with you i haven't listened to fandom in full since it actually leaked in 2019. i brushed off the album at the time because me and my friends had our own little drama with awsten (and his la friends who aren't even his friends anymore ironically) because he was tiring. trying to preach ideas and people that would do the same things he hated because he was away from his real friends back home. i was tired of what he was trying to come off as.
nowadays i'm still tired of him sometimes, but i think his time offline has made the idea of him more palatable; when he's not trying to quip with the sardonic teens that make up his fans today, it's easier to remember him as a person. when he's not online, he's probably buying groceries or having lunch with a friend, working and writing music in his apartment or a studio.
it begs the question on an album named fandom (that doesn't call out its fanbase nearly as much as deal with the emotional turmoil of a breakup) on how we perceive each other and how that can come crumbling down when reality hits. i can try and compartmentalize awsten the ideal and awsten the reality in my head, but do most people even realize that divide should be there?
it's probably the thing to comment on considering the existence of this blog, the way it lives in surveillance from both fans and the band + associates themselves because we say things that aren't nice but are true or just straight up fuck around for fun. the fourth wall between fans and creators grows more blurred and blurred with each day. there's something to comment on this about cycles of hypocrisy from everyone on all sides but i'll leave it at this: whatever we do on here, whether make a joke or point, becomes some fodder for spectacle in the same way awsten posts on any of his accounts. it's a cycle.
i won't lie, i still think this album sucks. most of the songs just don't hit the mark for me or are just straight up embarrassing and half the time i want to shake awsten and tell him “you are not kanye west, you are a bitch ass white boy from cypress”. however as an album, it does feel like one big piece all puzzled in together. it loops from beginning to end.
and the cycle keeps going on and on..... - iz

last song: other than, like, letting an 'action scene' playlist run on auto to push me through dishes...probably Rocks and Water or Tell Your Story Walking by Deb Talan or A Marked Man by Mieka Pauley. I was going back through dms with @cypresssunns to find her recs for a certain zombie cowboy fic lol.
currently watching: tried Sweet Home at long last but got distracted. Watched Ehrenguard last night with mom, debating between watching The Princess and the Werewolf or City of Streamers on viki next in the group watch.
three ships: Tantai Jin/Li Susu, thinking about Angel/Gaige from Borderlands 2 again, was thinking about Sombra/Amelie from Overwatch again. I was reminded of a lot of throwbacks lately lol because I've been digging through and trying to sort very old notebooks
favorite color: red! I picked it when I was a kid and just stuck with it. I love pretty much all colors haha
currently consuming: some berry tea that I let cool down even though I'm actually in the mood for hot tea. Might reheat it. ate a piece of christmas chocolate orange to wash down meds
first ship: hmm, Max/Alec from Dark Angel was my first introduction to fandom so maybe that sort of counts? Other than that maybe Jack/Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas or Cutter/Leetah from Elfquest. I'm trying to think back and I feel like there's one that was my first 'yr honor they're in love >:[' baby feelings that I'm missing but those are today's guesses.
relationship status: single
last movie: probably Ehrenguard actually? although I walked out during the last bit and went to do laundry because I went 'wait this is based on Dangerous Liaisons isn't it? is this going to end miserably?' but it didn't! It apparently was based on a book from the sixties that was much more....er, less mean-spirited/cynical? By mean-spirited I don't necessarily mean a condemnation, but absolutely DL was not afraid to end miserably for everyone. The very opening of the movie made me expect a different sort of film though so I was a little disappointed by that.
currently working on: so much cleaning. the cleaning i was trying before has somehow only engendered awareness of more that needs cleaning and organizing. also need to review for the upcoming next online course, clean out my computer just in case it will work again, and set up ko-fi.
Tumblr media
I'm too socially anxious to tag people so consider yourself tagged if you want to answer !

what i'm listening to 7/6/2023 (song notes under cut)
spot. link//yt link
Laura Les - Haunted: haunted. by laura les.
Radiohead - Hunting Bears: have you guys noticed that i like amnesiac. links to this post. this is one of the best album interludes of all time
Tallah - No One Should Read This: HRHGGHRHGHHH. fucking crunchyyyy this is one of my favorite albums ever. it's corny as fuck but also really dark and heavy and just ahhhh i love it and this is such a good opener. despite any of the band's faults i will always be a shill for this album. i was talking to violet (hi violet heheh oops i dropped this) about the album a little bit and i decided i simply had to include this bc well frankly i'm jamming to it as i type this :3
Cypress Hill - I Ain't Goin' Out Like That: there's a lot of 90sishness going on in this list. lovvve cypress hill and this whole album. the hook is super catchy but also kind of ridiculous, and there's so many good lines. if you dig harder rap stuff definitely give black sunday a spin, i think it might have been one of the first rap albums i ever bought a physical copy of
Polaris - The Remedy: okay i've been going through my whole giant playlist on account of this business, so it's only fitting that i feature the song that's at the very tippity top of the thang. polaris is a damn solid progressive metalcore type band, and i remember when they broke out in 2017/18 with this album everybody in the scene was talking about them as rising stars. they didn't disappoint, imo, bc the album that came after that was pretty solid too. they did get a lot of comparisons to architects, who are much more seasoned in the scene, and i definitely hear it: the pitchy false chord screams, the djenty riffs, big but not poppy choruses. BUT i think two things worked out for them in that regard. one was that architects were white hot around that time because they put out holy hell, which was very well-regarded (because it good), so it wasn't too bad a thing to be compared to them. the other was that after holy hell dropped, wage war put out a single (low) that had basically the same riff as the architects' big single (doomsday). so they kinda caught all the shit on that one lol. ah the old days (<does not miss this time period)
Girls Rituals - Babe of the Abyss: ummmm.hi 😳
Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch: stupid dumb dumb dummy dumb stupid ass blppppt dumbass fuckin song. it's kinda awesome though. a large part of my interest in this one is to do with its pertinence to rap rock, or rather, its lack of pertinence. in my obsession with the timeline of rap rock, i like to be able to sort as much as possible into neat little categories. east coast hip hop, funk metal, nu metal, emo rap, etc. but what's also interesting is when something comes along that doesn't fit any trend at all. it's a total anomaly, a hit only on its own merits, whether those merits are musical strength or just being weird as fuck. in this case, it's definitely a bit of both. the bad touch isn't even really much of a rock song, it sounds more like dance beats, but the bloodhound gang are a rock band, and regardless you can tell just by listening to it which side of the music sphere they originate from. ughhh fascinating fascinating fascinating. and gross, if you listen to it. but mostly fascinating. 1999 babey. and that's the other thing - this was the age of nu metal. this isn't a nu metal song, but one has to wonder how much it was helped by the normalization of crossovers between rock and rap that nu metal was creating. okay moving on
Snoop Dogg - Gin and Juice: more 90s! but in this case? idk what you want me to say. it's fuckin gin and juice. no-one is immune to the d-o-double-g
Epic Rap Battles of History - Alexander the Great vs Ivan the Terrible: come onnnn you knew i was gonna put some erb on here i feel like i've been mentioning them all month. this is a real good battle, very catchy. the first two verses from pete and zach, respectively, are definitely my favorites, and indeed alexander the great might be my favorite zach sherwin performance on erb. but the flute on the beat for frederick the great's part is a lot of fun, and catherine the great's verse is catchy as well. just overall solid and easy to rewatch. please save me from epic rap battle hell i am trapped here and they won't let me out until i recite every erb bar in chronological order
Vylet Pony - Constellation Cradle: vylet pony good. reallll good. this was one of those songs that i had heard however many times and been like yeah cool song :) and then at some point recently heard again and for some reason it just like. hit right. it had the right crunch. i was feeling it. i was loving it. i was chewing on it. vylet pony good
Bob Marley & The Wailers - Is This Love: another simple case of "heard it on the radio, got stuck in my head." at the same time, it's representative of the fact that i want to know more about reggae, considering my current knowledge of it is effectively 0. so what better place to start than the name that most people outside the reggae sphere most associate with the genre? so many good hits from bob marley, as we likely all know
Pearl Jam - Even Flow: pearl jam good idc. not my favorite of their songs but probably the catchiest. moving swiftly onward
Twenty One Pilots - Implicit Demand For Proof: i was inspired to revisit some of my favorite tracks from a formerly beloved band to me. despite the many issues one could take with their first album, that's the one i would feel most confident in standing up for. and, since i'm an opening track kinda girl, this one hit for me the most. iiii knowwww you're not a liar, and i knowwww you could set fire this dayyyyy. idk. definitely a christian song but like, not in the sense that we all kind of agree is shit. like it's a christian song but it's still actually a SONG, that's. ABOUT THINGS. just give it a shot maybe, if you like kinda indie rock. or don't. i can't tell you what to do i'm just a bunch of text on a screen
Beastie Boys - Intergalactic: did you guys notice that i like the beastie boys. like with even flow, this isn't my favorite beasties song but it's the one that's stuck in my head this month. and it is a damn good hit! some classic lines in here. look at this post
Zombie Girl - Creepy Crawler: i don't know shit about this song or artist!! this was an everynoise.com find on uhhh industrial metal i think. it sounds good :)
Steve Miller Band - Take The Money And Run: i'm so obsessed with that trainwreckords episode on run-d.m.c. i literally have just absorbed every song that todd even mentions in the video. i won't put that episode in the youtube playlist like i did last week but if you haven't watched it you should still do that
Epic Rap Battles of History - Donald Trump vs Hillary Clinton: i know. i know. i know. stop looking at me like that. i know. i know, okay? i do. i'm sorry. but it's true. there's a lot of good lines and (more importantly) very catchy parts in this one too and i find myself bopping my head to them while i'm in the shower or whatever. if you don't like it, you should have saved me from the pit when you had the chance
Vanilla Ice - Rollin' In My 5.0: the ice-man just dropped a live video for this a little while ago so it's been on my mind. it's mostly interesting for two reasons. number 1 is that it's our only real insight into what vanilla ice album two might have been like if not for the rapid shift of popular trends. number 2 is that it has been deemed significant enough to be counted in the handful of songs that keep vanilla's music alive, despite being unknown to most people. i'm initerested in the idea of like a vanilla ice canon of Songs That Matter, and it contains like, ice ice baby (obviously), play that funky music, ninja rap, i love you, cool as ice, and so on. but there are just some more odd additions to that, and 5.0 is one of those
rawr - If Peppa Pig was a RAPPER: can i ask you guys for a favor. like, i realize that this list has 19 songs on it one way or another, bc that's the number of songs i use for every WILT. but can we all agree that this time, there's only 18 songs that are *formally* in the WILT, and this youtube-exclusive is like. a bonus track? great thanks. love you. anyways, have you noticed how these days youtube seems to recommend random 10-view videos that have just been uploaded? idk what's up with that, but that's how i found rawr, and frankly i've been having a blast with their videos. weird, silly little songs about wanting to marry various cartoon fathers or popular characters as rappers. this one is the latter, but honestly all of the ones i've listened to have overcome me with a feverish humor. it's not very tumblr humor imo but ultimately idek if my enjoyment of these could be described as comparable to finding them "funny." i just think it's beautiful that a channel with very little attention on it is uploading these ridiculous songs just for fun. just something to do. we could all take a lesson from this. or maybe not idk. i need to post this now good god

thoughts on Secret Messages the album?
i dig it! i love the music video for secret messages and i love the general background for the album lol Jeff Lynne being so tired of hyper religious people who think rock stars are putting satanic messages in the backmasking of their songs….. backmasking is just so fucking cool and interesting, and i’m glad that Jeff Lynne decided to incorporate his feelings about it into that album
i used to listen to like the first four or five songs on repeat, in the set order, so much and so often that when i hear secret messages, in my head i expect loser gone wild to come on next and then bluebird after that and then take me on and on and then stranger LIKE i just know the transitions so well because i listened to them in that order SO FREQUENTLY
that said, when i first listened to the album, i tended to skip hello my old friend because it’s a little depressing to me, but now i dig it. and i also love time after time for that blondie reference 💖
thank you for asking! i’m curious about how you feel about the album 👀

You ever get reminded of a band you haven't listened to in a couple of years and then realize holy shit you used to love this group and immediately go on a binge listen of their whole discography. LOL
I got reminded of Hollywood Undead who I shit you not, fifteen years ago I would have never even clicked on one of their videos because they are rap-rock/nu-metal/industrial something band. They've kinda moved more into the nu-metal and rock over their earlier industrial hip-hop start I'd say. Because I used to be that asshole who was all 'Nah I don't listen to rap' and someone just needs to go back in time and smack me upside the head for letting my preconceptions just write off an entire genre of music.
Cause hip-hop can fucking slap. And I definitely dig the whole rap-rock/nu metal scene. It's interesting to see how my musical tastes have evolved over the years.
Anyway so I've been listening to their New Empire albums today at work and they're not bad, I think i definitely prefer Notes From the Underground and Day of the Dead more. That used to be my go-to I am pissed off and just want to rock out albums. But yeah they apparently have put out three albums in the past like...two odd years. LOL I guess they were working hard during COVID.
I'm about to start Hotel Kalifornia but I'm definitely going to go back and re-listen to Notes from the Underground/Day of the Dead tomorrow at work. I don't think it's gonna happen just because I can't split my attention enough to listen to them in one ear and customer's in another like I can with more laid back lo-fi music which just kinda fades until it's background noise. Pffft.
But yeah, I think I've gotten to an age where I'm willing to just give up all preconceived notions on entertainment and just fuck it, I'll give it a try. I still maintain a lot of modern country can be trash but that might be my inner Texan and having that shit shoved down my throat 24/7 for decades talking. However, even then there are some gems to be found and I still love old outlaw country.
EDIT: Hotel Kalifornia is DEFINITELY a lot better than New Empire Vol 1 & 2. Also? World War Me might be my new Locus theme song.
"I'd rather be dead than some page in some book That burns to the fire 'cause the devil I admire And I wanna watch it burn higher and higher Now I'm the only one that I have left to fear And one of us is gonna die, I'll die right here Let the cowardly speak so the cowardly sleep I am not you, no, you are not me It's an eye for an eye, now no one can see No reflection has meaning, the cracks that I leave Even when I sleep, I die in my dreams Put that noose around my neck, I don't want you to breathe."
That kinda sums up his toxic as fuck relationship with Felix and the identity crisis and all the shit he is going through throughout most of the Chorus Trilogy. Him tying to come to terms with Locus the Solider and Samuel Ortez who he has shoved into the back of the closet and tried to kill off for years and how he kinda reconciles the two parts of himself right before he cuts loose some much-needed dead weight aka gave Felix the boot
"I pray that you stay away You speak with the tongue of a snake Baptized in a shallow lake I hate myself when I see your face"
-coughcoughfelixcoughcough- Also just....that entire stanza. Just....all of it is -chef kiss-
Also ironically, Kill Everyone by Hollywood Undead's Nots from the Underground is one of my Felix theme songs.

Sept 27th & 28th Double Feature as last night I was out there chasing Jupiter and the moons. I hope you all saw it.
Here you go if you missed it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pet Semetary
Tumblr media
It's actually super nice to get an oldish story and not know a dang thing about it . I miraculously avoided spoilers my entire life.
In an obvious explanation Semetary is spelled that way because a kid spelled it wrong.
It is refreshing to have an adult talk about death like a normal human.
It is not healthy to have an adult shut out the spiritual. Even if you think religious people are fucking lunatics, telling a kid there's no mystery or anything shuts down an important creative element in their brains, whatever ambitious thing your kid wants to do that has never been done before can't thrive if they don't contemplate the unknown in some way.
Already foreshadowing about the bb
In an unfortunate non-twist they kept with the classic of the black man dying first le sigh
Idk if I like the voice over is a bit cheesy
Ugh heavy foreshadowing on the bb
Man spending a lot of time in the street having already seen one fatal car accident and three near misses
The dated elements are showing and not revised
Black man dies first
Man is logical women is emotional and fragile and believes in fairy tales
Demonization/Monstrous depiction of the disabled
These are all old nasty tropes
Hell nah in the water, with the lightening
K just say I'm digging the old man jon lithgow era
Did he tell him to stick em those rocks and weren't they supposed to have masks on or some shit
Not getting tricked into reanimating a corpse
Welp the ovbs guess here is the bb is going to get hit by a car and then dad is going to reanimate him or who knows maybe the dad will fess up and tell the wife and in her histeria she will reanimate the boy and the husband says no, that's not the logic of things!!
The condescending what time is it/ late,
the lies the heterosexual lies that are so common place and the chaste love making 🤮🤮
I never know how I feel about these type of movies where the person is tricked into doing something, like he KNEW something was off but there's no way in hell on earth that's a guess you would make necromancy like that's not possible so house can you be held accountable for like essentially not bailing when there are bad vibes??
They are going for a timeless kinda thing with the timeline which sounds explain why she isn't on therapy
Oh Windigo huh?
And an adult saying i was wrong 😯
He gon be raggedy for the rest of the show?
Wait i think i remember them saying they had to grease up the cat to keep it raggedy looking
Street again
This a thinly veiled corporate attack
Fake out it was big sis good no one wants it to be obvious
Foreshadowing still in play with the bb though
They fail to establish how the secret is kept and oh why the person is changed just like a been to hell thing
More like just abelism with disability as horror
And the girl child perpetrating misogyny? For what?
The cast is ...too small, too insular
Hmm she may have just copped to bring an imposter
Which would explain the random acts of violence
Bruv!!! Get your other fucking kid lordt
What's the goal... just if it's possession then they need more corpses
Turn over time is quick
The cat.. Didn't want Jud to go to the side
I mean they still got the baby
B but like this my point how would it not immediately spiral??? To the whole town
There is a whole theme song. Wow
Ravens Hollow
Tumblr media
I'm a Poe Fan
Damn buury the man is alive
Ok i read a bit of a blurb, no spoilers it's Edgar at West Point
Tell tale heart
This is essentially
That's a far as i read i didn't want to get spoiled
Trippin balls to avoid getting brain washed
They went with the poem
Nevermore
Mask of the red death
Or just death itself?
Charlotte
And now the fall of the house of usher
Wait which?
I think i missed something
Thunderbird
Whoo hallucinations
Lol horse
What
Let's ride in the twilight
If i am then we are meant for each other
Uh that was poorly delivered
About orgasms apparently
If it loves it will not suffer with sharing
Booted from the academy
And now an addict
And haunted by the raven
Now he writes
I love it

Na zapadu ništa novo ("Nothing New in the West"), Riblja Čorba, 1981
putting riblja čorba back on my blog with the death of iconic frontman Bora Đorđević. this song is one of my faves, partly because of the *sensational newspaper headline* lyrics and maybe also because of this music video lol.
below the cut are very long, messy musings about this band and their role in my life and music taste and also a tiny bit on legacy and getting old because idk where else to put them right now.
i listened to them as a kid alllll the time in the car on tapes or burned cd's, then later as a teenager on youtube and my ipod once i ahem pirated their whole discography in one go. since i've switched to spotify i've listened to them less since they've only got a couple random albums (a couple of which happen to be favs though!) and tbh questionably recorded live versions on there.
looking back now, a few years into intentionally following and actually engaging with ~current music again, it's been really fun to realize and trace back the influence of riblja čorba on my music taste. a special shoutout to the song Rokenrol za kućni savet which spoke so clearly and directly to my angsty angry teenage heart after rediscovering it (and also to the whole 1979 album with seriously some of the best thought-out cover art i've seen). they're all over it, from the raspy voice to the prominent bass to the ~loud and very clear but also dirty guitar solos to the occasionally synthy bits and of course great drums. also the particular brand of socially aware, ironic and silly and funny, deadpan yet not hopeless lyrics, though i'm not about to discuss their politics.
related to legacy though, i have to admit that when the topic of ex-yu music inevitably comes up with new people in my life (and it really always does pretty early on LOL), i'm always very quick to recommend the band VIS Idoli – who, especially with their 1982 album Odbrana i poslednji dani, are one of my all-time favourites and also a big influence on my music taste from a teenager on – as well as Azra, Bijelo Dugme, and others. rarely Riblja Čorba though. now that i've been digging deeper into some classic western/anglosphere rock and sub-genres (old faves that i grew up with at least to an extent as well as completely-new-to-me ones), i've been able to pick up on some of čorba's own likely musical influences. and honestly, i can say more and more, that they really do deserve the label of legendary – the level of their creative output (quality and volume!) was truly intense and so so many songs and whole albums stand the test of time.
and just to touch on it: i think this really has been a very telling case of what happens when the rockstar doesn't tragically pass away in their prime, before or at their peak. bora in particular had the chance to write about and imagine his legacy multiple times (beyond but of course including the touching "ukrstite dve gitare / nek to bude spomenik") plus one of my favourite of čorba's albums is actually 2008's Minut sa njom, out 30 years after their debut single. i know i'm really just repackaging the tired old question of burning out or fading away now. but here, really, it was compounded with seeing your whole society truly collapse in on itself, more than once.
in all, can or rather should you try to separate a person's art from their surroundings? probably not and also it's less interesting that way. with my hard-found-and-easily-lost empathy for his generation and its (but also ours) overwhelming preoccupation with youth and the dilemma of 'what the fuck are you actually supposed to do when you end up growing old', this has been really interesting to think about in these last few days. and, as i've already started considering that question myself, definitely a biiiit too early (recently slamming headfirst into my mid-20s and then thinking oh shit wait what's actually next can i even begin to picture it), i'm sure i'll [have to] come to a satisfactory [if certainly incomplete] answer eventually. all while i no doubt continue to visit and revisit this immense body of work and find new things to appreciate in it.

One Margarita. . . Two Margarita. . .
Tumblr media
Warnings: None (slight mentions of potential sex)
Copyright: I do not own any Marvel characters or locations. However, I do own my OCs, which consist of Penny Fury, Elizabeth Nelson, Elijah Chan, Katya Venice, Violetta Moscow, Lan Le, Josh, Trang Tien, Ahni Jallow, Mai Ito, and Ghaida Kashual as well as other OCs that will come up throughout the story.
So this was very cartoonish for Mai, but I mean I did put a comic book filter on the AI. . . anyways, this looks absolutely amazing, much better than my own design. Just imagine the bright pink hair is black instead lol. But the outfit is pretty much exactly how I wanted it.
🌹🏌️‍♀️ 𝕤ţOя𝕪 🥀🛶
Penny sat down on the picnic blanket between Thor and Natasha as the radio played on a rock propped up above Tony's head. They were eating a picnic, which Wanda, Ghaida, and Elizabeth- who was feeling much better- had put together.
Loki was holding Rue in his arms, Penny was holding Chamber, and then Clint and Vision had Kisa and Mateo in their arms. Bucky was resting next to Loki with his head on his shoulder. Katya was laying in Stephen's arms, Wanda laying in Elijahs'. Penny was leaning into Thor, her hand in Natashas, who had an arm around Violetta.
It was an amazing day as well. It wasn't as hot as it was yesterday, the sun disappearing and reappearing behind clouds. Not to mention, it was shadier where they were today, near the tropical alcohol bar of Tony's private island.
They had mostly sung along to songs that had come on the radio, while eating, or just talking about random things.
All of the other babies: Nats, Wandas, Ghaidas, Violetta, Trang, and Katya's' babies were due early October so they were all showing pretty well for June. Only four more months for them to go. Wanda and Ghaida would be having twins. Everyone else was having a single child. Which was probably a good thing. If they kept this up, they might be overrun with children.
Steve was barbecuing the hot dogs with Pietro and Rhodey at the grill, while everyone waited, snacking on watermelon, pineapple, and grapes. Or, in Elizabeth's case, ice cubes and brownies.
"You know what I think we need to do before we leave?" Tony drawled, popping a blueberry in his mouth.
"Only Heimdall knows." Loki muttered, smiling down at Rue.
"Beach sex." Tony nodded and Loki immediately clapped his hands over Rue's ears with Penny following suit with Chamber. Clint just snickered, rocking Kisa in his arms.
"C'mon Tony, we're on vacation." Steve sighed, bringing over a plate of hot dogs and buns, "We're enjoying the day, eating food, relaxing in the sun-"
"Finished by a night of wonderful beach sex, I like it." Tony protested, throwing his hands up in the air. "Get on board everyone."
Penny shook her head amused while Trang chuckled from where she was relaxing next to Sam.
"What?" Tony complained, "Old man Rogers over here like, 'we're on vacation'. People have sex on vacation too, you know. Preferably on the beach."
"I'd like to too." Elizabeth said almost solemnly as she nibbled at her brownie.
Tony snapped his fingers and pointed at her, "Elsa is on board. That means everyone else will be too."
It was silent for a second and then Bruce sighed, "Ya know, that's basically true."
Thor chuckled, wrapping his arm tighter around Penny. "I only will participate if my Queen participates as well."
Penny smiled at that and said, "Well, why not? I think it sounds like fun. But at the same time, I mean, if others would rather stay inside, that's okay too."
Tony pouted at Penny.
"No more." Steve snatched the brownie package away from Elizabeth as she reached for another one. "Eat some real food cookie."
Elizabeth pouted, taking her plate, staring at the hot dogs with confusion. She looked at Elijah. Elijah slipped her hot dogs out of the bun, using a fork and knife to cut them up for her. Only then did she dig in.
"She hates bread, you all know this." Elijah yawned, getting two hot dogs to put into the buns that Elizabeth didn't use.
"I forgot." Steve mumbled, handing Penny hot dogs.
"Well," Penny said in an effort to make Steve feel better, "I had no idea at all."
Steve did seem to feel better and Penny thought it was a minor success.
As everyone was eating, Elizabeth asked innocently, "What do you do with Beach sex?"
Penny wondered why she didn't just ask Viden. But she thought that maybe the ice princess didn't want to rely on the book and would rather ask them instead.
"Well," Tony said with a smirk, "It goes a bit like. . ." He started moving towards her and Stephen's cloak wrapped around his neck, pulling him back to his spot.
"It's to early Tony." Stephen said in a bored voice, not looking up from his book, one arm wrapped around Katya who was fast asleep in his arms.
Tony pouted again, "You're all killing my mood."
Violetta, Trang, Bruce, Natasha, Rhodey, and Penny all laughed at him while he sulked into Bucky's other shoulder. Bucky just smirked.
"The kids are here." Elijah said in a bored voice. "Behave."
"I like when you give orders." Tony winked and Elijah just shook his head, rolling his eyes.
"Yeesh." Rhodey pushed Tony's shoulder lightly. "You're in a very peculiar mood today, aren't you."
"It's normal." Tony grumbled.
"We had a song for beach days." Violetta said suddenly, looking up at the sky.
"Yeah," Elizabeth said unexpectedly. "One Margarita by Luke Bryan."
Elijah, Katya, Violetta, Ghaida, and Trang all stared at her. She looked at them and shrugged her shoulders. "I read about it."
"Oh right." Katya muttered, sinking back into Stephen's arms. Penny felt a little bad for them, as they had all probably thought she'd regained her memories through a memory trigger from the beach.
"You guys should sing it." Pietro said with a smile on his face.
"And, we can make Margaritas' at the same time!" Violetta said happily, sitting back up.
Bruce clucked his tongue and said, "You're pregnant."
"Oh yeah." Violetta muttered. "Forgot about that bit."
Elijah fiddled with the radio for a second, before a very tropical, Caribbean song started to play through the radio.
Elijah smirked and took over for the first bit of the song.
Everybody here ain't from here But we're here doin' our thing Lettin' go a little, little by little Sippin' on a frozen drink
Tiki bars tik'n, pourin' all weekend Clouds ain't leakin' no rain Two pieces shakin', white caps a-breakin' We ain't feelin' no pain, it goes like
All of them: One margarita, two margarita, three margarita, shot Don't worry 'bout tomorrow Leave all your sorrow out here on the floatin' dock When that sun lays down, we'll be on our way One more barefoot round, one more last chance to say "Hey Señorita, don't you think we need A salt and a Buffett song?" One margarita, two margarita, three margarita We'll be gone
Katya: Ice blue skies, shades on the eyes To tuck the bloodshot away
Violetta: Hair of the dog, shouldn't take long But who cares, we got all day
Katya and Violetta: Palm trees a-leanin', sunburn screamin' But we'll all be alright, after
All: One margarita, two margarita, three margarita, shot Don't worry 'bout tomorrow Leave all your sorrow out here on the floatin' dock When that sun lays down, we'll be on our way One more barefoot round, one more last chance to say "Hey Señorita, don't you think we need A salt and a Marley song?" One margarita, two margarita, three margarita We'll be gone
Trang: We'll be gone
Ghaida: Tiki bars tik'n, pourin' all weekend Clouds ain't leakin' no rain
Trang: Two pieces shakin', white caps a-breakin' We ain't feelin' no pain, feelin' no pain
Ghaida and Trang: It goes like
All of them: One margarita, two margarita, three margarita, shot Don't worry 'bout tomorrow Leave all your sorrow out here on the floatin' dock When that sun lays down, we'll be on our way One more barefoot round, one more last chance to say "Hey Señorita, don't you think we need A salt and a Chesney song?" One margarita, two margarita, three margarita We'll be gone
"That's an amazing song." Nat sighed, "I wish we could make that many Margaritas while you guys sing it."
"Afterwards." Vi sighed wistfully. "Then we can get drunk."
Penny rolled her eyes at their silliness and watched as the sun crossed the sky. They spent the rest of the afternoon lazying around, reading or running on the beach or swimming or nodding off in each others' arms.
They ate dinner out there as well and then Elijah flicked his fingers at a pile of sticks to create a fire and they feasted on as many S'mores as they could fill their bellies with.
Penny relaxed in Clint's arms now, watching as the sun started to sink lower in the sky. The blue was stained with light pink, vibrant orange, and soft yellow, a few streaks of purple thrown in here and there.
She watched her family start to nod off right there on the beach. Steve in Thor's arms, with Ghaida in between the two of them. Bucky and Loki with Wanda. Stephen and Elijah with Katya and Pietro. Bruce, Vision, Natasha. Trang and Tony were still awake, voices hushed as they cuddled with each other in front of the fire. Rhodey and Sam were sleeping next to each other.
Penny glanced over to see that Elizabeth had not joined any of the groups, though she sat near Sam. Penny could feel the rise and fall of Clint's chest behind her, and knew he was asleep as well.
Elizabeth seemed to nod to herself, before picking up her three triplets in her arms. "Elizabeth?" Penny asked softly as the ice girl stood up, seeming to be leaving the circle.
"I want to take them back to the house." Elizabeth said softly.
"I'll go with you." Penny said, gently easing out of Clint's arms, picking up Chamber who was asleep in his baby cradle, and then the two girls set off for the house. "Why?" Penny asked.
"I didn't want them to be exposed to the harsh conditions outside." Elizabeth said softly. "Not that the conditions are bad, but I would feel better if they were inside."
"Does that mean you'll be sleeping in the house tonight?" Penny asked, figuring if the girl was, she'd wake Rhodey and Sam up to send them back to the house for her.
"Probably." Elizabeth shrugged. "I don't mind though. I feel a little peculiar so I'm not sure I'm the best company for the beach sex."
Penny smiled a little sadly. "Right."
They went into the nursery of the beach house and they laid the babies down in their cribs. "Good night Penny." Elizabeth said softly.
"Good night Elizabeth." Penny responded, touching Elizabeth's arm gently before heading back out to the beach. Clint had woken up and seemed relieved when he saw her. Penny smiled gently.
"Sorry, I went to put Chamber away in the nursery." Penny said.
"By yourself?" Clint asked, drawing her back into his arms. Penny snuggled into him.
"No, Elizabeth went with me. She wants to stay at the house tonight. Which reminds me. . ." She pulled out of his arms once more- hopefully the last time that night- and shook Rhodey and Sam's shoulders until the woke, sleepily.
"I'm sorry." She murmured, "But the two of you were sort've alone and Elizabeth's gone back up to the house to stay with the kids. I didn't want her to be alone."
Rhodey kissed her sweetly on the lips. "Thanks for letting us know Sweet Mama." He patted Sam on the shoulder, getting up and heading towards the house. Sam kissed Penny too on the lips and cheek, before running after Rhodey.
"You're sweet." Clint murmured as the two of them laid down on the blanket again and he drew out one of the extras to wrap around her body.
"I don't want anyone to be lonely." Penny murmured. "That's all."
"Good night birdie." Clint kissed the top of her head.
"Good night love." Penny said softly and once again, he fell asleep easily. And staring up at the beautiful stars, Penny did too.
