Doctor Y/n - Attending Orthopedic Surgeon - 9 - Grey's Anatomy x Fem!Reader
Peeling back the duvet, you glanced down at the sleeping Allison who had snuck into the bed again whilst you asleep.
"Good morning Ally, time to get up before Luna starts her alarm call for your auntie Joey." You watched as the sleeping child began to stir from her dreamland.
///
"Joey, I'm going to get in the shower!" You declared after Owen had picked up Allison to take her and Leo to the park, bonding time for the children with Owen's mother, plus his sister Megan and her son Farouk.
Teddy was already at work, so you took your shower alone whilst Jo was up with Luna already in the kitchen when you heard the knock at the door and Jo going to answer it.
"Why are you dressed like a pigeon?"
"I'm a phoenix! Phoenix Fest!" Schmitt defended his costume, "what happened to your hair? Are you having a nervous breakdown?"
"No! I was trying to lighten my hair a few shades but I fell asleep, and Braces is in the shower after staying up with Allison who wouldn't sleep. I try to study when Luna's sleeping and Teddy and Braces have Allison and also Leo and Rory who visit now, but- help me!" Jo got louder and louder as she prepared a bottle for Luna.
"Do you have scissors?" Schmitt carefully asked, grimacing as Luna began to cry and Jo sighed.
///
"Okay, I will see you two later!" You nodded to Jo, then glancing at Luna before getting out of the car, not seeing Jo fail to follow as you headed into Grey Sloan for your shift.
"Tandem cyclists crashed. Rider in the back flew about 10 feet, she's hypotensive and presents with numbness in her legs, possible spinal fractures." Nico explained as he caught up to where you had caught up with Link.
"Swell." Link's smile was fake, reminding you of how he had turned up at the penthouse needing a place to crash after his proposal to Amelia went south.
"Might want to lose the happy face. Patient might be paralysed." Nico replied as you raised an eyebrow, realising things were probably even worse than you thought.
"I don't want to look how I feel, Nico, which is like I want to break the whole world into a million pieces and bury it so no one can find it." Link put on another fake smile as the three of you grabbed gloves.
"Maybe we should take this one then?" You offered, gesturing between yourself and Nico, the patient talking about how her wife had steered the bike into a family's day out in the park, and a nearby priest who had been visiting the duck pond.
"Y/n, her wife, Ms Correa, bed three." Winston instructed you, and as you headed over to the patient bed in question, you were glad it was you Winston sent, and not Link, as Amelia's face broke into a smile at seeing you.
"Can someone make sure that the priest is okay?"
"Priest?" Your nose crinkled in confusion, looking to Amelia for an explanation.
"They ran over a priest visiting the duck pond."
///
Nico, Link and Amelia were in the OR whilst you were in the ER, looking for anyone who could help Schmitt restore a patient's face after blasting it off with illegal fireworks, a patient who was apparently on shrooms.
It was Webber who returned with a plastics candidate who was interviewing.
"Did you pull that doctor from the interview-"
"We needed a plastics surgeon, I gave privileges." Webber replied, heading to go try to re-arrange the interview with Dr Lin, whilst you were prowling the ER for ortho cases.
///
"Y/n!" Megan Hunt spotted you almost immediately after having calmed Owen down from the fact that a priest had died after colliding with bikes that had almost hit his family, including Allison and Leo.
"Hello, Megan!" You froze for a moment before the woman pulled you into a hug.
"Come on, we're all going to the bar to raise a class for Father Christopher, and I haven't seen you in ages but Allison kept asking for her mommy and mama at the park today." Megan smiled, looking over at where Teddy was watching you both with a smile on her face.
///
Two incoming message(s)
Link: Found Jo sat in her car in the car park.
Link: She couldn't take Luna in to daycare and leave her.
One unread message
Link: What happened to Jo's hair?
Y/n: sleep deprivation and a hair lightening kit
You barely managed to type a reply to Link before Allison was in front of you, her hands on your knees wanting up.
///
"Okay I'm not going to tell you how to parent your son, but this is not going in Luna's bag. Hey, Braces, is Ally finally asleep?" Jo spotted you wrapped in a blanket, looking exhausted but you still tried to help with Link and Jo preparing the bags for Luna and Scout.
Especially since Amelia had headed to Minnesota, and Scout had decided to stop sleeping through the night.
"Teddy is dropping Leo off at Owen's, I think Scout is asleep and my job is now to try save Elsa's cape which ended up in the dishwasher? Leo's world, we just live in it." You concluded as you began to examine the remains of the cape.
"Too bad Jackson left, this cape needs plastics to restore it, and I don't think I can ship it to Boston."
///
"All of the children are at daycare, one form or another. Cody texted me a photo of Rory and everything... and Arizona just texted me a photo of Sofia, wow it's been forever since I've seen them!"
"Should we shelve the Elsa costume?" Teddy enquired, confusing you and Owen with the new conversation topic.
"What?" Owen frowned whilst you jumped to wanting an explanation.
"Why?"
"You know, put Leo in more t-shirts and jeans? Just, is that the right parenting move?" Teddy asked, glancing between you and Owen, before reaching for your hand as she noticed you shift nervously.
"Did something happen?" Owen enquired but Teddy shook it off.
"None of the other kids at daycare are wearing costumes, so I just..."
"I think Leo should decide what Leo wants to wear. I didn't have much growing up, clothes especially. Costumes of characters never happened, so I think... I am being called." You headed out as the scans were up for Owen and Teddy's patient.
///
Amelia calling you from Minnesota took you by surprise as you headed into the Residents Olympics, sitting with Jo and Link.
"I found a strawberry in my patient."
"Back in med school, I found a yam." Link added, eating more crisps before putting bets on the residents.
"Brussel sprouts. Plural." You added in, making Jo and Link look at you in shock.
///
"Look at you two, breaking rules and saving lives. Too bad I prefer Teddy with Y/n than my own brother." Megan Hunt sassed as Owen looked offended and Teddy tried not to laugh.
You were completely in the dark about their patient, and the actions that would follow everything.
///
Your phone buzzed with an email, opening your phone to see Callie had sent you a research article to read. You barely had time to open it as Jo sent a message to you.
Joey: please hurry home, Link is singing depressing lullabies
"I'm worried, I want Leo to be okay in the world, what if-"
"What if we let him be himself?" Owen suggested, smiling as he spotted you sat on the floor of the daycare, helping Leo put on Elsa's cape.
"I'm worried that the world won't be kind. I'm worried that it will be hard. I'm worried that people will be cruel." Teddy confessed, her eyes lingering on where you were grinning and singing Let It Go with Leo and Allison.
"Maybe they will be. Y/n has seen more hardship and cruelty as a child than any child should, but despite my first judgements, S/n is great with the kids. Leo's happy, let's just let him be happy, okay?" Owen suggested, smiling as Leo spotted them both and made a beeline, whilst you pushed the pushchair that Allison had been put in.
"Let's get you all home." You barely heard what Owen said as Teddy walked over to you, holding Leo in her arms but leaning in to kiss your cheek.
"Hi, love. How was your day?"

J2 Gold Panel Nolacon 2023
We start off the panel with Jensen making a dirty joke because the stage reminds him of a lecture hall. It goes: A sex education professor comes into his lecture hall, he’s carrying a banana, and he says today class I’m going to teach you how to put on a condom. I have this banana here because I have a hard time getting an erection on an empty stomach. 🤦‍♀️ This makes Jared laugh and come up with his own joke: Did you hear about the serial killer professor? He always gave a Hannibal lecture. I can’t with these men, let’s get into questions.
Jared is asked about his ACL surgery, he hasn't gotten it yet but says he needs it at which point Jensen makes a knee pun. Jared’s brother has been helping him, and he does need surgery but it's a 4 to 6-month recovery period so until they find out about Walker he can’t risk doing it because he doesn’t want to do it and then get the call that they’re ready for him to film when he can’t move. Unless the season is gonna come back to Walker in the office playing wordle which sends them into a little sidetrack because Jensen mentions he got the wordle of the day in two so Jared asks him if he saw the hat picture at 2:30am he sent to the wordle group that they have, and Jared is so cute because he wants Jensen to look at it at that moment, it was something that had made him laugh but Jensen doesn't have his phone on him but after Jared explained it to him he did remember seeing it. It was just a little moment but I found it cute. Back to Jared's ACL, he’s hoping to rehab it and his brother thinks that maybe if he gets some intense physical therapy he might be able to avoid surgery.
So when the fan was asking Jared about his knee they said that family should not help you in situations like that meaning if you have a family member whose a doctor they shouldn’t be the one treating you, and Jensen asks why, and says Jared’s doctor is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in Austin. Jared answers that he has asked his brother about this and explains why, for those that don't know, it’s because it's a conflict of interest. Because if you're treating a loved one there's an emotional investment that makes it difficult to be objective, and doctors and surgeons have to be objective in order to do what is best for their patients. x
Jared says some dad jokes, so Jensen mentions that he started watching The Last of Us, and the young girl, Ellie, has a dad joke book and when she says one of the jokes and it cuts to Pedro Pascal's character, Joel, going god, that's so stupid, and it makes him think of Jared 😂 That one of the jokes that got to him was: did you hear diarrhea is hereditary? It runs in your jeans.
Jared makes another joke: sex is hereditary if your parents didn’t have it you probably won’t either. I'll admit that one got a chuckle out of me. x
Continuing with the questions did they steal anything from the set?  Jensen says some things may have made their way into his suitcase. Jared replies that a few times when it was their last day shooting at a specific location for example Bobby’s house, there was a bronze owl paperweight and he wanted it so when it was their last day on that set it “got lost” and then after they said that’s a wrap he went back in to see if there was anything else he wanted to take or wanted to help find a happy home and Jim Beaver was in there and told him he was looking for the owl paperweight so Jared went back and gave it to him. Jensen shares that Jared has the cap of the steering wheel of the Impala that got totaled at the end of s1, that Jared just popped it off, put it in his pocket and it was never seen again. And when he's saying this there's a little in sync moment between the boys: x
Jared says they got some stuff and there were things they wanted but understood they might need for a reshoot but the set dec, props, and wardrobe would do them the solid of checking with WB if they would ever use something again so for example Jared has his white Lucifer suit and au!Sam's purple outfit, Jensen has the lederhosen and the duster from the western episode and he also has the OG Samulet, the original heavy metal one that would try to chip his tooth. Jensen says that one had gotten retired because it was so heavy and dangerous, so they did a mold of it and cast replicas in a lighter metal. But he took home the OG one, and actually included it in the Winchesters pilot. x
The next fan just wants to let them know that fans would love for a picture of them in the Bridge scene to be included in the stuff that is auctioned by Creation. Jensen mentions that scene was an alternate ending because of covid so he's glad that it worked so well. x
There's a character in Days of Our Lives called Marlena that gets possessed, and Jensen was in Days of Our Lives, does he think Dean would have been able to exorcize Marlena? Jensen answers that he believes the priest on that show is Jim Beaver so he should have been handling this a long time ago (that character has gotten possessed more than once). That it would have been interesting to see Dean show up and yeah it’s something the brothers could have knocked out in a weekend. x
When is Jensen going to play Batman? And was it liberating to play Soldier Boy? Jensen doesn’t think you’ll ever hear any actor complaining about playing the bad guy because it is a lot of fun. He says that if you ask Jared what one of his favorite versions of Sam is in SPN he’ll say soulless!Sam because when you get to play the bad guy it’s honestly more cathartic cause Jared is a really good guy in real life so when you get to find your inner asshole it can be cathartic. That Soldier Boy was a lot of fun, and the interesting thing, and he loves talking about this because people will ask how he could play such a horrible character and how did he prepare for it, the thing is Solder Boy doesn’t think he’s horrible, he’s the hero of his own story.
And that’s something he took from Lee Marvin who answered years ago when asked why he made a career playing bad guys that he’s never played a bad guy in his life. And he thinks if you look at it through that lens it makes a whole lot more sense, Soldier Boy doesn’t think he’s a bad guy he thinks everyone else is in the wrong so that makes for really layered character work, and scene work, it was a lot of fun not to mention the way it was written and the way he related to the other cast memebers and characters on the show.
Asked if he got to improve any of it, he answers that yes. He gives as an example that Soldier Boy pops up for a brief moment on the new spinoff and his little bit was heavily improved. He had Kripke with him on set that day so they were spitballing ideas and coming up with different takes that it's a lot of fun to work at that level with that kind of mind that can throw something out and you're like 'oh! okay I'm gonna do that one' so it's a beautiful collab on that set much like SPN and that’s a testament to Kripke and the kind of worlds he builds and the type of people he puts in them. As for the Batman thing, he doesn’t know but if he gets the phone call he’s in. x
What is something they learned while working on SPN that they’ve since applied to their future projects? They’re kind of struggling to answer and Jared starts to try but he's having trouble so Jensen steps in to give him more time to think. And he answers confidence. Confidence on set, in front of a camera no matter who he is working with says that if he didn’t have the ten thousand hours that he had playing Dean he doesn’t think he would have the confidence he has now to go to a completely foreign set like The Boys or Big Sky or a movie set. He gives as an example when he was on Rust and working alongside Alec Baldwin, who is a legend in the entertainment industry, and shares that there was a moment on set where Baldwin dropped the line and got really upset and was screaming what’s the line and Jensen was just like holding up his phone going this is cool but he thinks had he not gone through what he went through with SPN that would have shook him a bit; he has a certain confidence, not arrogance but confidence that helps him do what he needs to do and that’s something he learned and earned on SPN.
Jared seconds that, and in his head went slightly different the fan asked about projects but he'll say life in general, he’s had a lot of highs and lows in his life and it doesn’t have to be something mental it can just be that he’s tired or physically beat down. They had a great time on SPN but there were times that just sucked like it being 5am and having to do a two-page emotional scene and having only an hour to film because the sun is coming up and just wanting the day to be over those were the days they’d get home and take a shower and get in bed and realize that it felt really good, so just realize there's another side of it. There’s a saying he likes: no feeling is final. When you're feeling beat down whether physically or mentally there's another side to that, you can get through that and he thinks SPN helped get that into him. x
Did Jared have fun doing his Walker Independence cameo, and are we going to see more of that? Jared replies that he had an amazing time there, it’s an amazing cast and crew that build a family over there in Santa Fe and he had a lot of fun. That he was riding horses in between takes and horsing around, and he has an absolute blast on Walker; he hopes he gets the chance to go back to Walker Independence and hopes the show comes back, he thinks if they were shooting in the same place he would have done it more often.  x
Favorite song on SPN outside of Carry On? Jared says he will probably forever love Renegade by Styx (saaaame!) and Space Oddity by David Bowie that those two music cues he’s watched more than a lot of the other clips of SPN he’s watched. Jensen says Eye of the Tiger but he'll also throw in Night Moves by Bob Seger. x
And that marks the end of the panel and as they walk away there's a mini butt pat! x

Yesterday, Maple had a consult with an orthopedic surgeon in Chattanooga. It went very well! We were very happy with the vet hospital--their facility was excellent, and everyone we talked to there was kind, respectful, professional, and helpful. Maple, of course, was a very good girl and did wonderfully at the hospital! Ultimately I feel we received good news, and I left feeling encouraged and more confident in both medical management and surgical options for her hip dysplasia.
We mostly went there to discuss total hip replacement (THR) surgery for Maple. According to the surgeon, she is a good candidate for THR surgery, and it would be a reasonable choice for her, with the goal of eliminating pain and returning normal function to her hip(s) for the rest of her life. There is even a good chance she would regain function well enough and be pain free with only one hip being replaced.
We were also told that it is perfectly reasonable to wait and possibly get the surgery done in the future if we want to continue to try medical management first for now; the surgeon assured us that Maple’s age is not a factor that should prevent her from getting this surgery, not now nor when she is older. As he put it, “[dogs] don’t come with an expiration date.” He regularly does THR on older dogs and told us there is no reason that they cannot get and benefit from the surgery; just the other week he performed a THR on a giant schnauzer who was around Maple’s age, as well as another dog recently who was 14 years old. With Maple turning 12 later this year, it was a big relief to hear that there isn’t this big looming time limit on her being able to be helped with surgery.
(The surgeon did not particularly recommend FHO surgery for Maple, which is already in-line with how we felt about it, which is that it’s not the right choice for her case.)
That said, we also talked about medical management. In the surgeon’s opinion, at Maple’s current age and progression of arthritis in her hips, there is no reason for us to limit her activities at all—he does not think that she will really be able to do further damage/make her arthritis any worse than it already is. In his opinion, we should let Maple choose how she wants to limit herself and how much she wants to do. I am a little skeptical on that simply because Maple is a high drive dog who has a tendency to push through pain...however I feel like I can try to make informed judgment calls based on her pain levels (especially now that I know her issue is there,) and continue to do what I’ve always done throughout her life—be her sense of self-preservation for her. I am going to try to compromise with Maple—she can do what she wants as long as I don't see her struggling with pain. If she is noticeably having a hard time, she's gotta stop, and at least take a break.
So, especially since there is no reason we cannot choose surgery for her in the future if we decide that's best, our plan for now is to see if medical management (pain meds + supplements + physical therapy) can help Maple be pain-free and mobile enough to have good quality of life and continue to do the things she loves. We’re gonna see how it goes. I already see some improvement since starting her on gabapentin and omega 3s, and hopefully that trend continues. I hope she will be ok and continue to be able to be Maple to the fullest capacity. 🧡

AC Medical AU
Okay so like I have a medical AU idea. I’m not going to write a fic because I have two already going. But yeah I was just thinking of these and figured i would share :) Also note I know nothing about medical stuff so yeah just a heads up.
Okay first Altair. Altair is an Oncologist (Cancer Doctor). He is the best of the best. He was one of the youngest doctors ever but then botched a surgery due to his arrogance. He almost lost his medical license and he had to work a few years to regain what he lost. Along the way he met amazing people and quit being an arrogant asshole. His best friend is Malik who is an Orthopedic surgeon. He also gets in fights with the Anesthesiologist Maria Thorpe but something seems to be growing between them.
Malik is an Orthopedic surgeon (working with limbs). After losing his arm it inspired him to help make prosthetics and help those with them. He is at the top of his field and knows what he is doing. Altair and him hated each other at first but as Malik watched Altair grow up and learn from his mistake he had great respect for Altair. Malik also loves talking smack with Maira about Altair.  This trio works well together since Malik has cancer patients every so often.
Maria Thorpe is an Anesthesiologist (puts people to sleep). She used to work at Abstergo Hospital but they treated her horribly. Altair then convinced her to work for him at Creed hospital.  Maria performs exceptionally in her field and is not afraid to correct a doctor. She even yelled at Altair in the operating room and Malik was impressed while Altair was in shock. Maria also gets mad at Altair easily but does love the banter they have. One Maria’s best friend is Elise who is an ER nurse at both Abstergo and Creed. Maria is trying to have Elise over at Creed permanently.
Ezio Auditore is a Dermatologist (skin doctor). It's been in his family forever. Ezio is one of the more attractive doctors and the ladies love seeing him. He is extremely talented with a blade and is said to have the hands of god. His best friend is Leo who works as a pathologist (examines dead bodies). Ezio also has an intense rivalry with Borgia's dermatologist. His siblings are also doctors. His brother Fredrico is a plastic surgeon and his sister Claduia is an OB GYN (Reproductive doctor). Ezio has also been known to sleep around or is this a rumor spread by the Borgia's who knows.
Leo Da Vinci is one of the best Pathologists. He makes some of the best drawings and diagrams of the human body. He is extremely smart and some believe he could easily scrub in for surgeries. Leo is best friends with Ezio and has made special blades for him to operate on people. Leo also has to keep telling Abstergo no about working over there.
Conner Kenway is a Cardiologist (Heart doctor). He is very hell bent on helping his people and making sure they get equal treatment. His dad Haytham Kenway is the medical director at Abstergo. Haytham wanted Conner to follow in his shoes but Conner wanted his own path. Conner loves what he does and wouldn’t change it for anything. His mentor Achilleas helped him alot in his field. He works closely with Pulmonologist (Cardio health) Aveline. They both seem to have a mutual attraction towards one another.
Aveline De Grandpre is a Pulmonologist. She works with the Cardio section of the body. She is all about being fit and healthy. She started this career when her dad had a health scare when she was eight years old. Her step mom works at Abstergo and its very awkward at family dinners. Aveline has gotten closer to Conner since the departments are close together.
Shay Cormac is a Cardiologist at Abstergo. He used to work at Creed but had a nasty fallout with Achilleas over a medical manuscript. As he was job searching Monroe saw Shay’s resume and knew Absertgo would do well. He got Shay hired and now Shay works at Abstergo. Shay also sees the Kenway drama from Haytham's perspective.
Arno Dorian is an ER doctor. This man is used to chaos and can handle it quite well. He is always busy and all sees the worst of the worst. His favorite ER nurse is Elise. She keeps working at Abstergo but Arno is sure he will convince her to work at Creed. Between all the people coming in abruptly Arno and Elise have managed a strong relationship. Arno also got another doctor fired named Bellec after he found out Bellec was harassing Elise about working Abstergo instead of his job. Overall Arno handles the ER with grace and Elise. The only issue he has is his boss Napoleon who thinks he knows everything.
Elise De La Serre is an ER nurse. Her dad is a doctor at Abstergo and her mom is also an ER nurse at Abstergo. Elise works at both hospitals for the pay and benefits. She also wants to impress her parents and Arno. Her and Arno keep the ER together with their skills and cohesion together. Elise is best friends with Maira but gets annoyed when Maria tells her to stay at Creed.
Evie Frye is a Neurologist. Ever since she was a child the human brain fascinated her. She is the best in her fields and published several research papers and projects. Evie does strive for perfection and this has led to issues with her self esteem but luckily her brother is there to help pick up the pieces. He is her PA (Physician Assistant) and the two work well in sync.  Whenever she does surgeries Jacob is there to help her. Evie also has a small crush on Henry Green, the head neurologist. Jacob teases her for it.
Jacob Frye is a Neuro PA. He is always there for Evie and knows what she needs next. He was never interested in neurology however being a PA lets him work anywhere including with his sister. He is trying to start a group called the Rooks that help out around the hospital. He also hates Abstergo and how much they charge patients and won’t take most people's insurance. One of his enemies there is Crawford Starrick who is in-charge of billing at Abstergo.
Bayek is a pediatric surgeon. He works well with children and wants to offer the best care especially after losing his son. He works well with everyone and some say he is the real leader of the hospital. He is also known for his awesome pet Senu who he will bring sometimes to cheer kids up.
Aya is Bayek’s wife, though their relationship is rocky. She is the head OBGYN and makes sure all her patients get the best treatment and medicine. She has published many papers and wants to be a professor at a university. She had a major fallout with another OBGYN named Cleo. After that Aya has become more reserved in her work.
Desmond Miles is a jack of all trades. He is a General Physician (just an average doctor) but if you need him for surgeries, dermatology, or even just to help out he is there. He gets along with Atair, Conner, and Ezio the best. He was mentored by all three of them during his residency. Evie was fascinated by his term Bleeding Effect after he could perfect what his mentors did after one try. Desmond is beloved in the hospital and everyone loves to work with him and they all make sure to stay clear of his William Miles. William Miles is Physician Executive( the guy who does all the paperwork) and doesn’t get along with everyone.
Rebecca Crane is the head of IT. You need an update on your ipad done, the website down not anymore its back, some crazy Abestergo employee trying to hack in no worries Rebecca is there. She is the best at her job and everyone loves her. She gets to meet tons of different people and loves getting to know them. She is also hell bent on stealing or borrowing tech from Abstergo since they are the leading medical tech hub. However they are no match for Rebecca.
Shawn Hasting is the head Lawyer for Creed. He makes sure no one can get a penny from especially Abstergo who keep trying to sue them for stealing their medical tech. Shawn usually hangs around Rebecca and Desmond. He’s not too familiar with all the medical stuff but he does love learning about it. Shawns has everyone back and is ready to jump theri defense.
Kassandra is a Psychiatrist (Mental illness doctor). She loves understanding mental illness and wants to help those around her. She studied under one of the best doctors, Hippocrates. She works closely with assistant Kyra and hopes they can have something more. Her whole family works in the medical field so competition is high.  Her and Evie love talking about the brain and Kassandra has helped Co-Author several of Evie papers.
Alexios is a physical therapist. When he was a kid he hurt his leg and saw how important physical therapy is. He is also super athletic and does several marathons. Him and Malik work closely and try to help each other develop the best prosthetics and movements. Alexios also has fierce rivalry with his sister Kassandra.
Eivor is an Infectious Disease Physician. They have seen it all and want to help make harder to detect diseases more detectable. They were interested in all this since they were a child and saw part of their village in Norway get ill. Eivor also works with their brother Sigurd which is awkward since Eivor may have or may not have slept with Sigurd's wife Randvi multiple times.
I hope you guys liked it! Nothing serious and just some fun ideas I had!

Don’t Let Me Fall, Chapter 9
A/N  Here is the next chapter of my crazy circus story.  Sorry for leaving readers hanging off that cliff for longer than intended.  Hopefully this installment makes up for it.  The end of this fic is now in sight, and I can confirm it will have eleven chapters.  Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments and support!
All previous chapters can be found here.
He’d been injured enough times in his rambunctious youth to recognize the smell of a hospital before he even opened his eyes.  Sticky eyelashes clinging together, his first sight was of a light blue bed curtain and the uniform squares of ceiling tiles. His memory was a bit slower to focus as he tried to recall what country he was in and what he’d done to deserve urgent medical care this time.
“The king of the jungle awakes.”
The voice held an American drawl and came from a middle-aged black man wearing a white coat and a stethoscope around his neck.
“Where am I?” Jamie rasped, his throat dry and tight.  He had no recollection of being in the United States.
The doctor’s vaguely amused expression turned concerned.
“You don’t remember what city you’re in, son?”
Jamie thought hard.  He’d gone home to Scotland to attend his niece’s baptism.  Jenny had harangued him about giving up his ‘jet setting lifestyle’ and settling down with a worthy lass.  He’d missed Claire something fierce but returned to Australia conflicted whether it was a good idea to pursue a relationship with her while they were still performing together.  The internal debate, together with a wicked case of jetlag, had kept him up at all hours. After another near-sleepless night, he’d come to the realization that life was too short to waste time worrying about unforeseeable consequences.  He’d resolved to make his intentions towards his Tourist clear at the first opportunity.  And then he’d fallen from the straps.
“Melbourne?” he replied to the doctor with some uncertainty, his brain still foggy with what he now recognized as pain medication.
“That’s right.  I’m Doctor Abernathy, your orthopedic surgeon.  Besides being a bit groggy, which is understandable, how are you feeling?”
Jamie did a mental inventory of his body.  Even partially numb, his left shoulder felt a bit tender.
“My shoulder aches a wee bit,” he confessed.
“Yes, we had to reset the joint, but once the swelling goes down, it should be good as new.”
Relieved, Jamie closed his eyes.  He didn’t cherish the notion of missing any shows, but that was what they had understudies for.
“How long a’fore I’m able to perform again?”
The silence stretched on long enough for him to re-open his eyes. The doctor’s lips were tightened in a grim line.  Now that his mind was beginning to clear, the fact that he was being monitored by a surgeon didn’t bode particularly well either.
“James, I’m not going to lie to you, the damage that I’m seeing on the x-rays and MRI of your wrist…  I’ll do my best to repair the bone so that you regain full use of your hand, but given the nature of your work…”
Jamie glanced down at his right wrist, only now realizing that it was immobilized with a neoprene splint.  It had been bothering him something fierce for the past few weeks.  Roland had diagnosed it as a mild strain and applied a numbing cream before each show.  Jamie hadn’t mentioned it to Claire because he didn’t want to worry her and because most of the time he spent in her company he was fighting the urge to kiss her until the seas ran dry.  Now he was being told that he’d never soar through the air with her in his arms again due to a hereto unheard-of ailment that had apparently pulverized the bone in his wrist to dust.
“Listen, I know it’s a lot to take in,” Doctor Abernathy continued after going over the medical details of his condition and treatment plan.   “I’m going to schedule your surgery for the day after next.  In the meantime, there’s a young lady in a skimpy outfit haunting my hallways and making a general nuisance of herself.  Can you take pity on the nursing staff and let me show her in?”
Despite the circumstances Jamie smiled.
“Aye.  I’d like that verra much.”
***
I didn’t like hospitals.  All my life, they had been the scenes of painful events: the grainy memory of my parents’ deaths, my Uncle Lamb wasting away from cancer, and more recently a career-ending injury.
As soon as I was able, I had rushed from the big top and grabbed an Uber to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.  The Cirque medic assured me that Jamie’s life was not in danger, but I couldn’t erase the nauseating wallop of his body hitting the stage from my mind. I needed to be submerged in the oceans of his gaze, watch a grin transform his mobile mouth like a rogue sunbeam.  When he held my hand in his own, I would know everything was alright.
Upon arriving at the hospital, I was told Jamie was undergoing x-rays and afterward would be admitted for observation. He’d been sedated while his shoulder was reset, but the admitting nurse assured me I could visit with him once he woke.  That was four hours ago.  Unlike the kindly woman in admissions, the ward staff were disinclined to provide me with any information about a patient to whom I was not related, only repeating that he was ‘resting comfortably’.
The sound of a chair scraping the floor startled me from my stupor. John Grey, dressed in his street clothes and carrying a steaming extra-large coffee, sat down beside me.
“How is he doing?” he asked as he handed me the drink.
I didn’t know how I felt about John anymore, but the fact remained that of all our colleagues, he was the only one to join me in my midnight vigil. Jamie had explained that they’d been friends since circus school, and I trusted Jamie’s judgement above all things, no matter how damning the evidence.
“I haven’t been able to see him yet, but the medical staff assure me he’s not in danger.”
John nodded, leaning back and stretching his legs with a groan.
“Tomorrow’s performance has been canceled,” he informed me. “Probably the following night’s as well. I know it’s the last thing on your mind, but we’ll need to find time to rehearse the routine.”
I stared at him, trying to make sense of what he was saying. It hadn’t even occurred to me that I’d be expected to keep performing without Jamie as my partner.
“I’m Jamie’s understudy, remember?” John clarified when I didn’t respond.
“I suppose congratulations are in order, then.”  I hadn’t meant to sound churlish, but I found it untenable that anyone should benefit from Jamie’s fall.
“Claire,” John entreated, laying a hand on the chilled skin of my arm.  “Jamie being injured is the last thing I want.  If I could trade places with him, I would in a heartbeat.  There is no ulterior motive here beyond making Tropico a success. You know that’s what Jamie would want as well.”
“I saw you,” I accused, too tired and wrung out to beat around the bush.  “Going into Marylebone’s hotel room in Singapore.”
I mentally dared John to deny it.  Instead, he shook his head ruefully but met my eyes, his own deep brown and earnest.
“That wasn’t what it looked like.  I was… well, let’s just say I was making amends.  You have to believe me, Claire.”
Before I could grill John on what exactly ‘making amends’ meant, Jamie’s doctor stepped into the corridor.  I was on my feet in an instant, the conversation with John forgotten.
“He’s awake, but still a bit groggy from the sedative we gave him,” he said without preamble.  “I’ll be back in the morning to check on him.  Until then, I don’t suppose either of you answers to the name of Tourist?”
I threw my arms around the man, who inexplicably sounded like he hailed from Texas.
“Woah there,” he laughed.  “Now I’m going to have to explain to my wife how I managed to get covered in glitter while working a double shift.”
“Thank you very much, doctor.”  John’s relief was utterly uncontrived.  Feeling uncharitable after my earlier accusation, I paused in my rush towards Jamie’s room.
“John?  I’m sure Jamie would appreciate seeing an old friend.  After I’ve had a chance to visit with him, that is.”
John sank back down into the uncomfortable chair he’d just vacated.
“Take your time.”
***
Jamie was reeling in the aftermath of Doctor Abernathy’s prognosis when Claire arrived in his hospital room like a sunbeam on a cloudy day. Even in pain, even knowing that his circus career was over, even anticipating their upcoming separation by both geography and circumstance, he couldn’t fail to warm in the bright rays of her smile.
“Hello there,” she murmured, sounding shy and a bit hoarse from fatigue.
“Claire,” he exhaled on a sigh, likewise a bit tongue-tied.
His left side was in a sling to protect his shoulder, so she reached for his right hand before freezing mid-motion, having just noticed the splint immobilizing his wrist.
“I didn’t realize you’d injured both arms when you fell,” she commented, hands hovering as though she wanted to make contact, testify to his wholeness via touch, but couldn’t bear to cause him any further pain.
Jamie grimaced, not eager to relay the significance of his injury when he’d only just begun to re-catalog his partner’s infinite wonders: her skin, luminous even beneath the pallid lights; her curls, a burn in spate cascading over her shoulders now that she’d loosened her bun; her expression, as forthright and eloquent as a masthead.  Once he told her, the ties between them would be severed before they had the chance to build a fresh bond, one that didn’t rely on their status as colleagues.  For the thousandth time, Jamie cursed his previous hesitation.
“Pull up a chair, Tourist.  I’ve some news tae share wi’ ye.”
Jamie related what Doctor Abernathy had just told him, trying to split the difference between optimism and realism.  Tears streaked unheeded down Claire’s cheeks, each one of them a tiny lance aimed straight at his heart.
“Dinna weep, Claire,” he begged as he finished his tale.  “It wasna as though I believed I’d be an aerialist forever, and John will serve ye well as a partner.”
Amber sparks flew from her eyes as she ground out, “You think I’m crying because of a goddamned circus act?  Christ, Jamie, you…” her hands scrabbled in the air, seemingly searching for words. “You held on to that bloody strap while your wrist fell apart.  In what I can only imagine was excruciating pain.  For me.  You did that for me.”
“Aye, I did.  And I’d do it over again in a heartbeat, if it meant saving ye from harm.”  As surely as a compass pointed north, this he knew as truth to the marrow of his bones.
“Because you love me,” Claire said.   It sounded like an accusation, and perhaps it was.  In his life, romantic love was a weakness, a chink in his armour to be exploited to another’s benefit.  Not Claire, though, whose heart was purer than fire, who cared ferociously and without artifice.
“Aye, I do,” he conceded.  “But Tourist, with everything changin’ between us…”
She lay a finger gently across his lips, finally finding a place where she could touch him safely.
“It’s like someone very wise told me recently, Jamie,” she interrupted, face drawing close enough that he could make out the golden sunbursts around the well of her pupils.  The cadence of his pulse accelerated, making his wrist throb in agony that he entirely ignored in favour of watching Claire’s mouth caress each syllable.
“You have to be willing to fall to fly,” followed by Trojan horse words that stole beneath his weary defences and unlocked the gates of his heartache from within.  “I love you too, Jamie.”
Not waiting for his response, she kissed him.  As tender as a prayer and audacious as hope, the moments after their mouths pressed together flipped Jamie’s life on its head.  Up was down.  Pain brought pleasure.  Distancing himself from her love was like trying to hide the daylight from the sun. In her thrall was exactly where he belonged.
Regretfully, the kiss was over before Jamie could organize his wrecked limbs to reach behind Claire and pull her closer.  He worried she would confuse his lack of response for lack of interest, but when her love-drunk eyes fluttered opened his fears vanished.
“Do we have the worst timing, or what?” she chuckled as she settled back in her chair, both hands now caressing his upper arm and chest.
“Quite possibly, aye.  I want nothin’ more than tae take ye in my arms and ne’er let go, and I canna even touch ye,” he lamented.
“We’ve got all the time in the word for that, once you’re well.”
Floating on a wave of endorphins and euphoria, Jamie still had enough sense to realize it wouldn’t be quite so simple.  Claire was a brilliant performer and Cirque des Etoiles would certainly want to keep her busy after Tropico’s tour was done.  Three months, possibly six, and then she’d be on the road again with a new show.  And that was saying nothing of his own upended employment and work visa situation.
Still, lying in a hospital bed with her warm palms caressing his skin, he was more optimistic than he had any right to be.   As fate had demonstrated time and again since they first met, there was little they couldn’t overcome when they faced it together.
“I should let you get some rest,” she said regretfully after he suppressed his third yawn.
“Will ye come by tomorrow?”  He was desperate to spend as much time as he could in Claire’s company. Both because it soothed him, but also because he knew he’d be travelling back to Montreal soon after his surgery, and Tropico would be moving on to Perth in another week.  It would be weeks before they’d see each other again.
“Of course.  I have to organize some rehearsal time with John, but….  Oh, that reminds me!  John wants to see you.”
“What, now?” he asked, glancing out the window at the pitch-black sky. It must be close to two in the morning.
“Yes, he’s waiting in the hall.  I can tell him you’re sleeping…”
“Nah, s’alright, Tourist.  Send him in.”
Claire made a fuss looking for her jacket and purse, neither of which she’d thought to bring with her during the mad dash to the hospital. Perhaps he was flattering himself, but she seemed loathe to leave, despite her obvious exhaustion.
“Alright, I suppose I’ll be off.  Don’t visit with John for too long.  You need to rest.”
“Nagging already, is it?” he teased, delighting in her blush.
“Well, somebody’s got to watch over you, Fraser,” she huffed in faux exasperation.
The teasing mood left him in an instant, leaving him unaccountably moved.
“I couldna ask fer a better, nor more lovely, minder.  I’m honoured ye’ve chosen me, Claire.”
The goodbye kiss she graced him with then was passionate and warm, tongues darting past panting lips to explore virgin territory.  By the time she pulled away, his body was humming with longing that he could do nothing to assuage.
“Uh, Tourist?  A’fore ye leave, could ye…um… hand me yon wee blanket?”
Equally flushed, Claire raised an expressive brow but made to tuck the woolen throw around his shoulders, assuming he was cold.
“No’ there.  Across my lap, if ye please.  I dinna want John getting any false impressions of how excited I am tae see him, y’ken?”
Claire’s chortling laugh could be heard echoing down the hallway long after John entered the room.

Med student Steve & nurse Eddie for WIP weekend pls and thank you? 👉👈
i can absolutely do this for you gerry! also the people are loving nurse eddie & med student steve which is a pleasant surprise?? i figured i was being way too self indulgent by just Giving Steve My Job lmao
Same as before, this snippet is a direct continuation of the previous one for this fic!
< PREV | NEXT >
With that, he turns and leaves pathology, only the vaguest goal of finding a nearby ward in mind. Steve’s walking on auto-pilot, his brain cycling through everything he’s done wrong today like a planet orbiting a particularly fucked-up star. That quickly tips over into worrying about the things he'll get wrong tomorrow, too, because god knows there'll be a lot of them. It doesn't help that two of the other students on this rotation with him are people he doesn't know very well at all, definitely not well enough to commiserate with or gently probe to see if they're also struggling with the new rotation.  The third student is also no help because it's Jason fucking Carver, one of the biggest gunners in their student cohort and a sanctimonious prick. God, if Steve keeps fucking up like this, Jason will probably report him to their academic supervisor for the rotation for professionalism concerns, or maybe say he wouldn't want Steve to be thrust into situations he's not yet ready for, and maybe he should give this rotation another shot? The worst part is the dickhead probably genuinely believes in the shit he's selling. Sorry that we don't all have orthopedic surgeon fathers bankrolling our way through medical school so we don't have to worry about anything other than studying, Jason— Okay, no. Steve stops where he is at the edge of the hallway, aiming to stop his thoughts in their tracks too. Steve loves a good bitch session, especially when he's having a day this awful, but this is getting unreasonably bitter and paranoid. Steve needs to take a minute and get his head back on straight before he does something he'll really regret tomorrow.
Make me write some of my WIPs! 🖋️

Don't XXX someone else's husband! (Munechika Takado x MC)(Scenario)
Tumblr media
Author's note: Sometimes, Romance MD has a peculiar humor. So, I had to think a lot about a case as strange as the canon one. (For those who don't know what Lys and I are talking about, this is based on "Don't XXX another man", which is a special story for Kasumi.) I hope you're expectations will be met. And @lys-lilac, thank you a lot for this request. Enjoy!
Summary: Takado was sarcastic and MC was a weirdo. But this qualities has never stopped them from being one of the best couples in the entire hospital. Until it did and Takado Munechika had to encounter his biggest fear - The Overlord himself.
Words counting: 2305
"Are you married?" MC heard a high-pitched voice from the room that her husband was keeping his lessons. A smile appeared on her face as she walked through the university. She had to meet a doctor who was also a professor there and taught his course at the same time as Takado Munechika, MD, Ph.D., Orthopedics Professor. MC knew the university well enough. She studied there for six long years. However, a wave of warmth hit her when she walked past her husband's class. Unconsciously, MC slowed down her pace to hear Takado answering the question about his marital status.
"No."
MC stopped in her tracks. She could see the handsome features of her husband through the door, yet she was too afraid to stay for too long and admire him. What if she saw the face of the girl who asked him the question and understood how beautiful she was, gorgeous enough to make her loyal husband lie about his relationship? When the phone in her hand vibrated, Mrs. Takado knew she had to run towards the meeting. Yet, her mind was somewhere else, not even in the halls or in front of Takado's class. Otherwise, she would have heard the completion of the answer.
Takado Munechika, MD, Ph.D., Orthopedics Professor, tried his best not to roll his eyes at the questions his students gave him, as if most of them weren't in their mid-20s and a step away from being residents. He didn't want to be the one to say that the new generation didn't have any manners, yet here he was, thinking the same thing. It wasn't their problem if he was single, married, lived with his mother, or in the hospital. Takado could remember his school and university years when he had no idea what most of his professors did outside their lessons. Of course, he had his share of over-share professors, and some of them were married to the most mysterious ones, this being the reason why the students knew about their relationship status. But it didn't mean that all the kids in front of him had to know a thing about him.
Deep in his thoughts, the professor returned to being a doctor and entered the EICU headquarters. Or this was the plan, till he opened the door and heard:
"Can I kiss you?" coming from his boss. Not wanting to deal with any public display of affection from the Overlord who just returned from his honeymoon, he closed the door to take a walk. However, his plans were once again destroyed when he recognized the voice of the person who answered the question. It was a wife, but not Kasumi's. It was HIS wife, Takado MC, MD. And she answered affirmatively.
A million questions ran through Takado's mind. But his actions were faster. He opened the door and looked at the couple in front of him. As if nothing happened between them, MC and Kasumi looked at him. As usual, it was hard to read Kasumi, yet on MC's face was a scowl. Before he could say a word, the other Dr. Takado left her place and walked past him, giving him a displeased look as if he was the one to blame.
Instead of explaining the situation, Kasumi returned to work. Takado didn't know what to do: take his boss by the collar while his scary dog was somewhere in the same building, go after Mrs. Takado for explanations, or find Mrs. Kasumi for revenge together. Before he could find an answer, a nurse called Dr. Takado Munechika, Orthopedic Surgeon, to see a kid who fell from the slide and broke her ulnar and radial bones in two different places. A two-hour operation with probably an hour of preparing and half of his day was gone. Mrs. Takado and Kasumi would have to wait a little.
When Takado returned, he saw the other man in his relationship kiss his wife, as if he wasn't trying to seduce MC a few hours earlier. For everyone else, the newlyweds looked like newlyweds. But Takado couldn't help but search for the trash so that his disgust could go directly to its place. Kyogoku rolled his eyes at the public display of affection shown by the recently returned from the honeymoon couple. But he got even more irritated when he saw Takado faking a gag.
"Don't act as if you were different a few months ago."
"Not a few months, but already more than a year. And yes, I was different."
All the doctors in the room looked at Takado. No, the Takado family wasn't different. They also thought that none of them saw them when not-so-secretly kissed or touched each other. Toshiki was more public, but not with much. So, Takado-the-pot just called Kasumi-the-kettle black.
"You have no shame, do you?"
Everyone looked from Takado to Kasumi after the orthopedist's words. He was lucky that it was hard to understand if he talked about Kyogoku or Kasumi. But it was bold, coming from someone who tried his best not to cross paths with the boss.
However, MC wasn't as lucky as Kasumi. The moment she entered the room after her shift, she understood that she didn't have her keys. The only option was to ask her husband to give her his keys. So, reluctantly, she stepped in front of the man who gave her his surname a year ago and put her hand in front of him.
"Give me your keys," she said barely audible.
Out of habit, Munechika stood up and took a few steps towards the locker room but stopped midway.
"Why don't you ask your other man to give you his keys?" he hissed silently enough only for MC to hear.
Mrs. Takado raised her brow at her husband and pushed him away. It was he who seduced young and beautiful med students, not her. If he didn't give the keys, she would take them herself.
As if mocking her, the photos that Takado had in his locker of them fell on the ground. At least it wasn't his wedding band.
"Do his students know that he has photos of me everywhere?" MC thought. Maybe he had to put her as his background on every device he owned. She didn't know that she was his background on all his devices except the ones for work. She also didn't know that his students saw her on his backgrounds, and lock screens, that they melted a little at first, then mocked him for being a simp. But there was no way Takado would tell her this.
After MC's leaving, Takado's rage got concentrated on Kasumi. For hours, all the other doctors thought that the Overlord was overturned due to how intensely the orthopedist looked at the cardiologist. The only person who seemed not to notice this was Kasumi himself. Even his new wife understood it wasn't the time to cross Takado's path. So, when Takado got called into Kasumi's office, the cardiologist calmly ate MC's bento that got recognized by her husband in the same instant. Noticing his colleague's line of sight, the boss explained:
"Your wife said she didn't have enough appetite today and left her food for me because I am on call today."
"Are you mocking me because you can have every woman in this world while I had to be on the verge of dying to get a few years of happiness?" Takado snapped.
Kasumi looked at his friend, colleague, and the source of his forming headache. All the words like: "You're enough, I promise, you're enough. Don't think so lowly of yourself. You are loved," dissipated and made enough space for the supreme: "The door is behind you. Come back when you get your brains and manners back."
Takado slammed the door to his boss' office. Kasumi took a deep breath and held it for a second, just to morph it into the loudest and deepest reproach he was capable of: "Manners, please."
The orthopedist rolled his eyes, opened the door again without looking at Kasumi, and closed it silently. However, he couldn't stop himself from giving it a knock with his elbow. Unfortunately, Takado was too old to be a rebel, and he stopped before breaking a bone. So, he decided to continue reading his patients' medical carts. Before he could finish, a dark figure covered his lights.
"I told you to go study manners, not this. You're not in the state to think reasonably today. So, bye-bye," Kasumi said while trying to get the folders from Takado's hands. For a second, Takado thought about suddenly letting go of them. Seeing Kasumi falling on his butt was a revenge good enough. Yet, he still had a wife at home, even if they weren't on good terms. Takado wasn't sure that MC had enough money to arrange his funerals. So, he tried his best to mask his range. 99% of it got under control. But that 1% made Takado's hand clench forcefully on Kasumi's shoulder before leaving the room. After the grip, Kasumi, who clenched his teeth out of pain, tried to find ways to explain to his wife why he would come back with a giant bruise on his shoulder.
At home, Takado found his wife on the couch. At first, he didn't think too much about it. However, when he entered their shared bedroom and saw no sheets and pillows on the bed, he returned to her.
"Do you want a divorce? It's not even a year after their wedding..."
MC looked at her husband in shock. At first, a ping of guilt reverberated through her ribcage, but after his last sentence, she couldn't think of anything better than to throw a pillow at her soon-to-be ex-husband.
"You don't even know when is our anniversary and that we celebrated our first year as a family a few weeks ago?"
Takado didn't bother to catch the pillow. Instead, he looked in disbelief at his wife. Something didn't make sense. A deja vu hit him, and he remembered how Kasumi was sure his girlfriend cheated on him with Takado. What if it was the same case and a misunderstanding occurred?
"What are you talking about? Are you even listening to what I am saying?" Takado Munechika, MD, Ph.D., Orthopedics Professor, known as MC's husband, mumbled. MC's face changed from an annoyed look to a quivering lip and teary eyes. The man fell on his knees and cupped his wife's cheeks.
"Are you ashamed that I am your wife?"
Takado tilted his head and wiped a fat tear from MC's cheek. She closed her eyes, and the sunset orange hues got lost in her little liquid diamonds.
"What makes you say this?" Munechika asked after pressing his forehead against hers. MC tried to suppress a sob but failed and shook herself and her husband. Her fingers caught Takado's wrists and made him press his hands harder against her face.
"I heard one of your students asking if you are married, and you said no."
This sentence marked the fall of MC's dam. She started to sob hard. Before answering, Munechika pulled MC into a tight embrace, and her head found its place against his chest. His lips kissed the crown of her head till MC calmed enough to hear his answer.
"If you listened a little longer, you would have heard my entire answer."
At this, MC pushed her husband enough to get a better look at his face and frowned. What else could he say to make the situation better? It wasn't as if "No" needed any completion. Plus, it sounded like a standalone answer. And even with another sentence, it didn't make any sense.
"No, that's why I wear a wedding band on my ring finger and call the other Dr. Takado my wife. Of course, I am married."
Okay, it made sense. It was something Takado could say. How could MC forget that her husband was sarcastic? Plus, he wore his wedding band all the time, except for the surgeries.
MC let the last tears in her eyes fall on Takado's thumbs and smiled. The smile morphed into a hearty smile, and she hugged Munechika harder than ever. For a while, the husband patted his wife on the back.
"But even if I did say no, it didn't give you the right to kiss Kasumi."
MC tilted her head against Munechika's chest. When did she kiss Kasumi? She didn't even kiss Mrs. Kasumi, not to mention the Overlord. Whispering against her ear, Takado gave MC the explanations she needed.
"I heard Kasumi asking if it was okay to kiss you, and you said yes."
Searching through the history of all the words said to her in the past hours, MC finally understood what her husband talked about.
"I was trying to make a point back then."
"By saying yes to his questions?"
"No, by asking him to ask me this and giving the answer that implied that I am not happy with you."
"Why?"
"Because he was smart enough to understand that it was a misunderstanding that you said you weren't married. And I brought up an example. I said: If he asked me to kiss me and I said yes, and you coincidentally overheard this, you would think of the worst-case scenario, as I thought when I heard you denying your marriage."
Takado tried to repeat all the words MC said and found a sense in them. It took him more than he wanted to admit. However, it wasn't his fault. MC's way of thinking was too strange for simple humans.
"Mission completed unsuccessfully, I think."
MC nodded and hugged her husband again. At least she wouldn't have to spend her night on the sofa instead of sniffing Takado all night.

Park Seong-Hwa : Pretty
Pairing : Park Seonghwa (Ateez) and named character (Kim Sasha)
______________________________________
Tumblr media
Sasha leaned back against her chair, looking out into the city below her as she kept the files she was looking through aside. She took a sip of the coffee her secretary had made for her earlier, inhaling the smell of it in. she picked up her phone and called her boyfriend, seonghwa picking the call within the first 2 rings
Sasha : baby, where are you?
Seonghwa : me? I'm heading out to meet some of my friends, since I finally have an off day.
Sasha : you are? I didn't know you were going out today.
Seonghwa : yeah sorry, it was sudden.
Sasha : it's alright, doesn't matter.
Seonghwa : don't overwork yourself too much, bun. I know you're the CEO and that you have to maintain your figure and all that but please don't overestimate what your body can handle.
Sasha chuckled and said
Sasha : it's your off day and you're still acting like the doctor you are.
Seonghwa : old habits die hard honey.
Sasha chuckled and said
Sasha : alright then, have fun with your friends.
Seonghwa : mhmm.
Sasha : you know I love you, don't you?
Seonghwa : I do. And I love you too.
Sasha : I'll see my pretty baby later then, bye.
Seonghwa : bye bun.
Sasha cut the call and kept her phone aside, letting out a sigh and going back to her work.
____________________________________
Seonghwa plopped down on the bed, tears streaming down his eyes. He had left the house so happily a few hours ago and now here he was, crying pathetically over some comments his "friends" had made about him and sasha. He knew sasha was beautiful, hell she looked like a goddess. With her green cat eyes, full red lips and sharp facial features, she was everything any man would want. Her naturally blond hair which had red streaks on it and her beautiful tanned skin, she captured the eyes of everyone who saw her. Seonghwa knew that, and he always reminded her how pretty she was. But he had never thought about whether he was pretty enough to be with someone like sasha.
She was a rich businesswoman while seonghwa was just an Orthopedic surgeon. He had worked hard for it, extra hard since he grew up in a poor orphanage that would now have been bankrupt if he hadn't donated a large sum for it after having gotten his job. He had no parents, they had abandoned him. On the other hand sasha had amazing parents who were equally rich and loving, they treated seonghwa like their own son. He was all gravel, dirt and blood, while sasha was regal, glory and gold. He still wondered why sasha loved him and his friends' comments just elevated his thoughts.
"I can't believe the both of you are still together. Judging by the her and you, I thought she'd dump you as soon as she'd gotten your body, apparently not?"
"but like, what does she actually see in you. She can get practically anyone and she chose…you?"
"man what did you do the charm her, did you flash her or something like that?"
"not to be mean but like, how can someone who looks like this get that goddess, tell us your secrets doctor park"
Seonghwa cried harder, feeling disgusted in his own body as he looked at the mirror in front of him. His friends were right, weren't they. He was absolute filth compared to sasha. He knew she deserved better but even then he couldn't fucking let her go because he loved her too much, and that only made seonghwa cry harder.
He crumbled against the headboard, wrapping his arm around his knees and burying his head in them to muffle his sobs so as to not let any sounds reach any of the maids' ears.
________________________________
Sasha groaned as she kept yet another file away, looking at the clock and realizing that it was now 5pm. 2 more hours until she got to go back into seonghwa's arms and shower him with all the love he deserved. At this point sasha got up every morning and came up to work, thinking about how she could go back to her boyfriend at night. Sasha frowned as her phone rang, realizing that it was one of the older maids that worked in her house with whom she was close
Sasha : ahjumma? Do you wish to go back home early tonight?
Maid : nothing of that sort, just…mr park seems to be a bit troubled right now. He hasn't come down from the room in like…4 hours now.
At that sasha's heart dropped
Sasha : was it after he came back from going outside this afternoon?
Maid : yes, that's it.
Sasha : tell the guards I'll come be coming within a few minutes. Thank you, ahjumma, for letting me know.
Maid : always.
Sasha cut the call and picked up her phone, bag and car keys before rushing out her office, running into her secretary. The secretary bowed and asked
Secretary : are you leaving, boss?
Sasha : yes, do we have any meetings today?
Secretary : yes there's one within-
Sasha : cancel it.
Secretary : oh, alright. Also there's-
Sasha : cancel that too.
Sasha didn't bother listening further as she hastily walked away, trying to get to her boyfriend as soon as she could. The secretary sighed and mumbled
Secretary : your birthday party.

Sasha walked towards hers and seonghwa's room, practically running. She soon reached the door and tried opening it, her eyes widening as she realized it was locked. Seonghwa hated locking doors when he was alone in the room, and he hated it when sasha would lock the door if she was alone too. Something was wrong, terribly wrong.
Sasha knocked on the door as she heard seonghwa's voice from inside, weak and feeble
Seonghwa : ahjumma, I'm not hungry.
Sasha : hwa-nie? Baby, it's me. Open the door for me? Please, love?
The door opened within a few minutes, revealing a disheveled seonghwa, his face flushed and his eyes and nose a deep red color. Sasha threw her bag and phone away, not giving a shit about anything else except the man in front of her. She cupped his face and stepped inside before closing the door as seonghwa frowned and said
Seonghwa : sash? You're not supposed to be here-
Sasha : who hurt you?
Seonghwa : s-sash, I'm fine.
Sasha : why were you crying baby, what's wrong?
Seonghwa pressed his lips together and shook his head, knowing there was no point in lying to sasha
Sasha : look at me, look at me sweetheart.
Seonghwa looked up at sasha, her heart breaking as she noticed the tears in his eyes. She frowned and whispered, her voice soft as ever
Sasha : my sweet little baby, what's troubling you?
Seonghwa breathed shakily, trying to let words out
Seonghwa : I…I…it just-sasha.
Sasha hummed and pressed her forehead against seonghwa's, breathing in his air as she whispered
Sasha : that's it. Take deep breaths and tell me, pretty.
That last word seemed to break seonghwa as he let out a sob and said, his voice breaking
Seonghwa : am I really pretty?
Sasha frowned, pulling away and looking at seonghwa
Sasha : seonghwa! Where is this coming from?
Seonghwa : no, I don’t-
Sasha : babi, tell me.
Seonghwa : I just…when I went with my friends, they…sasha-
Sasha : they did what, love? They said something about you?
Seonghwa : they said someone like me didn't deserve someone like you.
Sasha : aren't they right? Someone like you deserves someone so much more better than just me, bub.
Seonghwa : no that's not what they…they said you were too good for me. That you are beautiful and I look like…this, that I had an ugly smile-
Sasha : which one of your friends?
Seonghwa's teary eyes slightly widened, knowing that if he said their names sasha would most definitely do something to them.
Seonghwa : no, don't do anything to them-
Sasha : which one of your friends, seonghwa. Who said this to you?
Seonghwa : hwan and minhyun.
Sasha : okay. Lovie?
Seonghwa looked up at sasha, his cheeks dampened by his tears. Sasha smiled and wiped them as she whispered
Sasha : do you know how much I love you? You mean the world to me seong, without you I'm nothing.
Seonghwa felt more tears fall down at her words, still feeling like he didn't deserve all this
Sasha : don't cry for them baby, they don't deserve even your tears. You're the most prettiest human I've ever seen in my entire life and no one, not even me, could level up the beauty you have.
Seonghwa : really? You mean it?
Sasha : come with me.
Sasha held seonghwa's hand and headed out of their room, walking towards her walk in closet a few meters away from their room, entering and closing the door behind them. The lights in the closet automatically turned on as it sensed their presence, making seonghwa frown
Seonghwa : w-why are we here?
Sasha dragged seonghwa to the large full length to their right side, making seonghwa stand right in front of it as sasha stood behind him, wrapping her arms around her boyfriend's waist. Seonghwa held her arms and looked at the mirror, seeing himself in the mirror, teary-eyed and red-faced.
Seonghwa : sasha.
Sasha : look at yourself, seonghwa, do you see how beautiful you are?
Seonghwa bit his lips, feeling overwhelmed. Sasha rested her chin on his shoulder as she brought one of her hands to seonghwa's hair, brushing a stray hair strand away from his face.
Sasha : I love your hair, it's so soft and always smells so good for me.
Sasha brought her hand to one of his eyes, brushing past his eyelashes making him close his eye
Sasha : and your eyes, so big and beautiful. I could stare at them for my entire life and never get tired of it.
Sasha brought her hand down, tracing her index finger against his tears
Sasha : and these tears that you cry, I hate seeing them but they're still so beautiful. You're pretty even when you cry sweetheart.
That just made seonghwa cry harder, as he shut his eyes. Sasha kissed seonghwa's neck, making him tighten his grip around her arm
Sasha : open your eyes, baby. You have to see what I'm seeing.
Seonghwa bit his lip and opened his eyes, making sasha smile. She slowly brought her finger to seonghwa's lip, pulling it away from his teeth as she whispered
Sasha : and these lips, so addictive and so adorable. I love kissing them, and I love it when these lips smile. You know, they're my favourite part of you. Because it's where your sounds come from, where your smile appears, that beautiful adorable smile that I never want gone.
A small smile spread on seonghwa's lips as sasha smiled and booped seonghwa's nose before saying
Sasha : I love everything about you, baby, everything about you is beautiful and no one should be able to tell you otherwise. You're all I have and I promise, I don't need anyone or anything else except you and your love.
Seonghwa smiled and turned around, facing sasha as he lifted her and placed her on top of one of the counters before leaning towards her
Seonghwa : you make me feel like I'm dying and living at the same time, sash.
Sasha chuckled and wrapped her arms around seonghwa's neck before saying
Sasha : is that a good or a bad thing
Seonghwa : there's nothing about you that's bad, bun-bun.
Sasha smiled and hugged seonghwa, resting her head against his shoulder. Seonghwa inhaled deeply as he snuggled into her before whispering
Seonghwa : thank you, sasha, for everything that you do for me. I love you so much I could die for you.
Sasha : don't die for me, live for me. Live for me and shower me with your love everyday instead.
Seonghwa : if that's what you say.
Seonghwa pulled back and kissed sasha, tilting his head to go deeper. Sasha smiled into the kiss and pulled her boyfriend closer, relishing in the feeling of having her lips against his.
_____________________________________
Sasha smiled at her boyfriend who was now deep asleep in her arms, hugging her like a koala. His hair was ruffled because of the amount of times sasha had ran her fingers through it, his face squished against sasha's shoulder as he snored softly. Sasha was resting her back against the soft headboard, looking out and watching the sunset as it cast a golden glow on the couple who were tangled under the soft blankets, only seonghwa's head and sasha's upper body visible.
Sasha leaned towards the bedside table in order to take her phone, seonghwa humming in annoyance and pulling sasha closer to him. Sasha chuckled and whispered, kissing seonghwa's forehead
Sasha : I'm right here baby, I'm not leaving.
Seonghwa hummed and went back to sleep as sasha opened her phone to text her secretary.
"Do you still have those photos of Jung Minhyun cheating on his wife with another lady that you took in that bar?"
"Yes, boss"
"And the evidence of drugs being found in Lee Hwan's car a month ago?"
"Yes boss, I have those"
"Release them, both of it"
"Are you sure, miss Kim?"
"Very"
"Alright, consider the job done"
Sasha sighed and kept her phone away, knowing that the next month would be quite a struggle for both the men. Hwan had enough money to be able to cover this up but it would cost him time, and money. And sasha was only doing minhyun's wife a favor, it was high time. A small smile spread across sasha's face as she wrapped her arm around seonghwa who groaned and whispered groggily
Seonghwa : sash?
Sasha : yes, love?
Seonghwa : what-what time is it?
Sasha looked at the digital clock and said
Sasha : 6:30 pm, why?
Seonghwa slowly looked up at sasha, his eyes still filled with sleep. Sasha chuckled and ran her finger along his cheek
Sasha : what is it, pretty boy?
Seonghwa smiled and said
Seonghwa : do you know what day it is tomorrow?
Sasha : another day to stare at my pretty boyfriend.
Seonghwa : aish no, what day is it sash?
Sasha sighed and said
Sasha : yet another Friday, apparently.
Seonghwa : sweetheart, it's your birthday.
Sasha paused, her widened eyes looking at seonghwa in shock
Sasha : it…it is?
Seonghwa : why do you remember everyone's birthday except yours all the time.
Sasha : I always found mine uninteresting.
Seonghwa frowned and said
Seonghwa : shut up.
Sasha smiled cheekily and whispered
Sasha : make me.
Seonghwa slapped sasha's arm lightly making her fake pout.
Seonghwa : later tonight. Right now, I'm going to take you outside.
Sasha : what-
Seonghwa got off the bed, wearing his slippers and walking towards the door as sasha groaned and sank under the blankets as she whined
Sasha : ah I miss you baby, come back.
Seonghwa chuckled at his whiny girlfriend, wanting to go back into her arms but knowing that he had last minute arrangements to make quickly. He wanted this night to be special for her.
Seonghwa : make yourself pretty for your pretty boyfriend, sash-sash.
Seonghwa turned around and winked at sasha before walking out the room. Sasha smiled and said
Sasha : I love him.
Seonghwa shouted from the hallway right outside their room
Seonghwa : I love me too!
Sasha laughed and got out of the bed, going to the bathroom to get ready as seonghwa had asked her to. She whispered under her breath
Sasha : I'm going to make myself so pretty he'd wish we had just stayed at home.

A little bit of a ramble, a lot of a ramble, a trauma dump even
My entire life, I have been disabled
That's it, that's the premise of this ramble, ever since I was young I was in constant pain when I was on my feet and despite me being able to walk and run I never understood why it always hurt. Why I always had to take a break in PE during the daily laps around the yard, or why I couldn't explain why I had to take one when kids made fun of me or the teachers looked down at me
My parents certainly weren't helping, my mom knew exactly what was wrong (she admitted this to me when I got older) but she didn't want to get me help or SSDI or anything like that because she said she didn't want me to become dependent on it and she didn't want me to not get a job or go to college and become complacent over it I'm sure I don't have to say why that's not right As I got older my condition worsened as my weight increased and no help was given, I never even went to see a doctor about my issue despite me becoming cognizant of the pain by the age of 7-8 until I was 15. My mother just refused every time to take me, citing my weight or my "laziness and refusal to walk or run" as the cause of it. My father wasn't much of a help either, he only ever wanted me to be a "real man" and despised that I refused to play sports because of the pain and just wrote me off as weak.
Didn't get much better when I did first go to the doctor, they misdiagnosed my issue off of one X-Ray and then pretty much gave me painkillers and patted me on the back and said "Maybe get some orthopedic inserts" which I have been wearing since I could walk, but they wanted me to get custom ones, which in the long run didn't help with my pain at all
After that I finally got into Highschool and after so long determined myself to get a job my senior year, I knew it would be painful but a part of me held onto the toxic belief that I had to prove that I wasn't incapable of anything just because of my disability, so I applied to McDonalds in my small town and got the necessary paperwork
I didn't last a month, I would walk out of there at the end of my shifts with one of my feet almost facing perpendicular to my other foot, the pain was so much that I had to take a 10 minute break multiple times a shift to just go cry in the bathroom and let my feet rest. It was the only time my father ever showed me respect, my suffering was the only thing that could get him to notice me.
Finally though, I turned 18 and I could finally get the surgery that the doctors had been talking about my whole life, the promised neverland that would let me walk and run and do anything I ever wanted with no pain
In hindsight I should have been a bit more skeptical, turns out it was a surgery normally done on people thrice my age, the surgeon who did it had never done it on someone my age, and could only offer a hope that it would work and a backup surgery that would leave me 100% guaranteed paralyzed in a few years but at least it wouldn't be immediate like if the original surgery fell through and nothing was done For context the surgery was essentially a complete reconstruction of everything below the ankle, a plate on the right side of my right foot, and a lengthening of my calf muscles to meet my new foot
After 6 months stuck in bed and another 2 in a boot, I was finally free to walk, I did a month of some barebones physical surgery (didn't even learn how to properly walk on my new foot) and found out right away it was not all what it was cracked up to be. The pain was a lot sharper now and left aches, it was impossible to walk without shoes or slippers or something on, and forget running.
I had to get a CAT scan (which took literally 3 months) to make sure everything was okay, turns out I have osteoarthritis all over the joints below the ankle (nothing new there), and osteopenia all over my foot (actually surprising there) and the surgery had only refused about 40% of the way, way under the doctors expectancy. So I had to schedule another appointment and deliver the results
I never got the chance, my insurance ran out and due to never getting me help as a kid via SSDI or even a written letter detailing my disability, I was left hung out to dry, I haven't been to a doctors in 6 months with my mother scrambling to rectify everything and get me SSDI and back on insurance and getting her food stamps back in order because I was in the eyes of the state a jobless able-bodied adult and no longer able to be claimed
So now I'm here, honestly this turned less into a ramble and more of a dump of a facet of my entire life, but fuck it, we ball

I wish you would write a fic with Joel looking after reader who starts feeling shaky and unwell at work 👀
Still trying to decide whether I write reader inserts for widespread viewing anymore or not, so I'm putting this behind a cut.
For those select few of you for whom I've written private comfort ficlets before, the above does not apply. I'm always happy to write those for y'all. ♥♥♥
"Zach tells me you're not looking so good today."
You gasped, dropping the IV set you were fishing out of a supply cart, nearly fumbling the bag of saline in your other hand, too. Glancing over your shoulder you found Joel lounging with his hip propped against a nearby counter, watching you in that scrutinizing way of his that told you he wasn't missing anything.
"Zach needs to keep his opinions to himself," you grumbled as you picked up the IV set again, bumping the drawer closed with your elbow as you turned to leave the supply room, finding your way blocked. Joel surveyed you from the doorway, his expression soft and concerned. If you didn't know better, you'd think he was giving you puppy dog eyes.
"He's right, though; you do look pretty awful."
You rolled your eyes. "Thanks."
Joel pushed off the counter, reaching for your arm, grasping you gently by the elbow and steering you along out of the room. You tried to wriggle out of his grip but found yourself too tired to protest much. Besides, his touch was warm and comforting and, as much as you didn't want to admit it, it probably wasn't a bad idea to have someone take a look at you. You did feel pretty awful.
As you passed by the nursing station, Joel paused and took the IV supplies from your hands, handing them off to Jackson with instructions to finish up with whatever patient you were working on. To his credit, Jackson took it all in stride and before you knew it, Joel was leading you into an empty exam room and closing the door in your wake.
"Up on the table for me, if you please," Joel instructed, his tone leaving no room for argument.
You complied with a sigh, earning yourself a brief but warm smile from Joel as he approached you. You closed your eyes as he reached out and touched the back of his hand to your forehead, frowning as he hummed thoughtfully.
"You're burning up," he commented, his fingers finding your wrist, pressing into the artery there. "And your heart rate's elevated. Lie back for me."
You opened your eyes again, watching him as you shifted around to pull your feet up. You laid back, your head landing on the pillow at the upper end of the table, Joel's grip on your wrist never wavering.
"That's it, sweetheart," he murmured, finally releasing your hand, reaching up to gently feel your lymph nodes instead as he began asking you questions about the history of your illness.
You resigned yourself to his exam, answering obediently as he questioned you. He was confident you were suffering from nothing more than some sort of a viral infection and you raised an eyebrow at him as he reached for his stethoscope, plugging the ends into his ears as he leaned in over you to press the instrument to your chest.
"Deep breaths for me."
You complied once before firing back. "What's an orthopedic surgeon doing with a stethoscope anyway?"
He laughed softly as he moved it to another spot on your chest. "It doesn't come in handy too often, but I'm glad I've got it with me today," he said with a wink. "Seeing as you didn't want to let Zach examine you when you had the chance."
You rolled your eyes, flashing him a genuine smile for the first time since you'd run into him. Closing your eyes, you allowed him to carry on, letting him take expert care of you without taking the bait.
Sure, you had a bit of a crush on him, but he didn't need to know that.

Had my alarm wake me up and hardly got any sleep since I never sleep well when I have morning appointments and I’ve been in a really bad pain flare the past few days. It’s like anything that the nerve block did to help after the first couple weeks has worn off. This appointment is a follow up for that so I’ll basically say I had results after the first week for about 2 weeks and then started having my regular pain and stiffness again. It has been particularly bad the past couple days since the pain really localizes in my shoulder and then shoots down to my fingers. Super fun.
More under the break because it gets long
Then I check my health portal and my appointment isn’t until 11. I thought my appointment was 10:45, meaning id need to be there by 10:30. Nope, I need to be there by 10:45 so that gives me some extra time, but there’s no point in trying to go back to sleep, it’ll only make me more tired. I showered last night, one less thing I have to do this morning and I’ve always been a night shower person anyway.
I’ll be honest, I really, really dislike the PA I’ve been seeing since I started pain management. I find her to be nonchalant and dismissive. I have to repeat myself because she asks the same questions every time like idk how many times I have to describe the exact symptoms I’ve been having for years, physical therapy made it worse which is what sent me there to begin with, I had an mri showing the bulging discs so it’s not idiopathic pain, also had an emg showing the nerve damage going down my arm from my neck. Like I remember an appointment I had just before my hip surgery where she suggested an EMG and I was like….that was literally the first thing that was scheduled after my first appointment here??? Read my chart??? Same with after the first time I had trigger point injections, I mentioned they helped a bit, but obviously not in the long run and instead of scheduling me for more or scheduling the mri I had already been recommended by the Dr who did my emg and found nerve damage, she says I need more physical therapy before she’d do so. Ummm physical therapy is what sent me to pain management because it exacerbated my pain and I’d be screaming and crying in pain for days following appointments but o fucking kay??? So I just didn’t go because they don’t actually check and I said that again, physical therapy does not work and I was scheduled for the mri where they found the bulging discs that physical therapy would do nothing for. I’ll never understand this backwards ass health care system that always wants to do physical therapy first for pain before an mri, then you get the mri and they’re all “Whoopsie!! We made a fucky wucky :(((( turns out your body is fucked up in ways that physical therapy wouldn’t help and would actually make worse. Sorry about that.” Like fuck you, I could have told you that before the mri based on my symptoms alone.
I just hope after this appointment I’m either scheduled for another nerve block because it did help a bit or I’m given a referral to an orthopedic surgeon who works on the cervical spine to see their opinion because if she suggests fuck ass physical therapy again, I’ll scream. Ideally would love to have my care transferred to someone else because I really, really dislike her and would rather have something actually done instead of explaining the same shit every single time and either having nothing done other than being prescribed muscle relaxers that don’t work, it’s a spinal issue, not a muscle issue or a procedure that only helps for a week.

Was in a car accident.
I am hoping it's repairable within the allotted amount the insurance will pay. The other driver was at fault. Their insurance contacted me and told me they're accepting responsibility. I said I have no car. They said they'd pay for a rental while mine is being fixed (see above regarding that), but I couldn't have a claim go through my insurance and theirs. Of course I want it to go through theirs! And my insurance also would feel the same.
I said I needed to call my insurance company and they said sure, "call me back tomorrow between this time and this time" and we'll go from there. Okey dokey.
I call back first thing in the morning. And two additional times during the day because the call goes directly to voice mail. I have to wait a full business day to hear back. Which means waiting the entire weekend.
Meanwhile, both my insurance and theirs followed up with me for the neck and shoulder pain. X-rays show no tears or fractures; it's more that the accident aggravated existing conditions. I do not want to deal with that since I was already at the orthopedic surgeon for the arm (again) so that's that.
Today at work, my knee was hurt like hell and that's another "well, this hasn't bothered me for a while" issue. Same side as the new bruise I'm sporting.
I feel very whiney today. Everything hurts.
The universe owes me pulling Idia in the showcase tomorrow, that's all I'm sayin'.

I had to go to the chiropractor AGAIN today and it was the last appointment in the (very expensive) package that I bought.
The orthopedic doctor that my mom wants me to see is fully booked until October 28th, which means another month of trying to deal with pain.
If this doctor can’t help me or recommend me to a surgeon, then I’m truly all out of options. I guess what I really want is for this disc to be taken out of my neck so that it doesn’t move all the time, but there’s more than one disc in my neck that bulges, so I’m not exactly sure which part of my spine the hypermobility comes from.
And like, maybe I’m a drama queen about it, but I would love to not constantly have a headache. It makes it really hard to think about much else and usually all I want to do is sleep.

Health update: I went to the doctor today I was told it was going to be a surgeon it wasn’t it was an orthopedic specialist and he left me waiting about 20 minutes just to come in spend two minutes with me look at my wrist for a second glance at my x-rays and then recommend me to a surgeon so it was a waste of my time and I am pretty pissed about it but that’s the American healthcare system for ya so now I have to go see a surgeon and I do not want to have surgery and I’m off work for another week so I’m not getting any money in this time so I am doubly pissed
