if I were to attempt to justify violence against your people, would you be on the defense?
why must jews be expected to quietly sit on our hands as our sisters are paraded through the streets like objects, and defiled even in death?
why must we cover our mouths when our elders are murdered and kidnapped, and when our children are held hostage in cages?
you would expect any other group in the world to cry out, but from us you demand silence.
civilians are simply collateral, the destruction of the vulnerable is seen as your revolution.
yet, because we are jews, it makes it alright.

“Darling, have you seen my earrings?”
It was early in the morning as your husband’s distressed voice echoed through the house. As usual, Kaveh had been working until late into the night to finish a project and had subsequently woken up later than planned. So, right now, he was rushing to make it to the Academia on time.
For a moment, you allowed yourself to admire the view in front of you as you leant against the doorframe leading to your bedroom, still dressed in your sleeping clothes, as you watched him struggle to pin his hair back. The bright sunlight gave his blond hair a glow, making it seem as if Kaveh was adorned by a radiant halo. The detail which caught your eye, however, was the golden lotus charm of his backdrop necklace reflecting the rays of the sun. Taking a sip of coffee, you pushed yourself off and stepped behind him.
“I found these on the kitchen counter,” you coyly said, dangling his earrings in front of him. “Care to trade with me?”
Through the vanity mirror, you could see Kaveh’s widened eyes and the way he sheepishly averted them when they fell on your teasing smirk. Nevertheless, he handed you his hair clips and took the jewellery from you. It had become a tradition of sorts for you to do his hair, to the point where Kaveh would almost refuse to leave the house if you didn’t, insistent he needed it for good luck.
You gently combed through his soft strands before fixing them in place, trying not to pull on them too harshly. Despite his previous rush, you felt Kaveh lean into your touch, sighing blissfully when your nails lightly scraped over his scalp. As you were about to be done, your gaze fell onto the skin peeking from his shirt and the necklace charm dangling between his shoulder blades.
Without a second thought, you traced a single finger down his spine, his skin warmer than the pad of your finger. Immediately, the blond’s body seized up as goosebumps followed the path of your digit. Giving the chain a light tug and adjusting it, your eyes met sunset coloured ones in the mirror.
“W-What are you doing?” There was a pretty rose blush settling on his cheeks but he made no move to stop you.
“Your necklace was tangled, I was merely fixing it,” you teased as you shot him a wink. “Is there a problem with that?”
“Not at all,” he replied, skin still a little flushed.
Trying to recover his composure, Kaveh absentmindedly went to pin his teal feather quill behind his ear, an adorable habit he had developed over time, only to gasp when your lips came into contact with the dip of his back right above the golden lotus charm. “What is up with you this morning? Not that I’m complaining or anything.”
You chuckled at his hasty addition, your breath fanning over the little hairs in his nape as you pretended not to hear him swallow. “Why not? My beautiful and talented husband has been slaving away all night. I thought I should give him a little extra energy today, no?”
“My my, what a lovely spouse I had the luck of marrying,” Kaveh said, voice full of warmth as he turned to face you. Pulling you into him with his arms snaked around your middle, he smiled brightly at you. “I do appreciate it very much, my rose.”
Cradling his face in one of your hands, you slowly closed the gap between the two of you as your other arm rested over his shoulder. Smoothing your palm down his back once more, you felt his muscles flex under your touch as he sighed into the kiss. All too soon, the two of you had to part again, noses still touching as you basked in each other’s embrace.
“As much as I hate to let you go,” you whispered, running your thumb over his cheekbone, “we don’t want you to be late for work, do we? Sumeru shouldn't be robbed of its most dazzling architect.”
“It would truly be a shame,” Kaveh breathed. Cupping the back of your neck, he pulled you back in for another kiss, fleeting but sweet, before mumbling against your lips. “Now, I’d really rather stay.”
“Come on,” you laughed, tracing your fingernail back up the length of his spine, “I’ll be here when you come back, so just look forward to that if the day gets tough.”
“You really are something.” Dropping his head on your shoulder, Kaveh exhaled. Then, he collected himself and flashed you his most handsome smile. “Think of me as well, alright? But don’t miss me too much.”

i'll get hate comments for this (i know) but there's something about p'jojo's style that i personally have issues with. this is something i noticed in never let me go too.
i think p'jojo struggles with two things: consistency and continuity. what i noticed in never let me go is the inconsistency of nuengdiao's character (especially in the first half of the drama). his actions and dialogues sometimes don't feel like him. it's as if he's having issues to stand his ground and admit his feelings for palm. while i think it's open to interpretation and perhaps, inconsistency and turbulence are real human traits, but it feels off sometimes. bitter at some point too.
in mew's case, i feel like i'm seeing a different mew in every episode. i wonder if mew has an underlying disorder (that we don't know of) because his intention isn't clear and i'm having a hard time trying to understand what and why he did it? because mew in my eyes has always been the smart, level-headed and mature guy who won't let an anomaly (top) take over his rationality (to an extreme extent like now). it feels a bit out of chatacter, in my opinion.
also, p'jojo cutting topmew scenes is really heartbreaking. i think those scenes are so essential and substantial to their characters and dynamic. if we got the top crying scene, it'll clarify many things: 1) top's feelings for mew (he truthfully loves only mew, 2) top's character development and growth, and 3) top's drive to pursue mew again (even if they don't end up together). and the mew drowning boston and punching top bit should also be inserted in order for that little cut scene in episode 10 to make sense.
i think p'jojo (and his team) has/had the power to really sit down and think of these crucial aspects pertaining topmew's character/storyline. because at this point it seems like their story exists as torn patches glued into one. it's honestly quite disappointing.
i hope whatever it is happening in episode 11, it'll make sense. and p'jojo, please, no more cutting off topmew scenes 😔
