Ok so I've heard some off comments about folk so I'd like to remind everyone that folk and bluegrass is not a fucking white genre and white people did not invent bluegrass.
The banjo is fundamentally an african-american instrument with similar instruments still being played in a similar way to banjos here in america. Jokes about hearing banjos as code for being near some rural racists remove the fact that the banjo is a fundamentally black instrument.
And the fact that you hear about Flatt and Scruggs and Bill Monroe but not Arnold Schultz is criminal, some of the most foundational artists in the modern conception of folk were BIPOC.
In addition some of the best (imo) folk artists out there are black! Like Rhiannon Giddens, Kaia Kater, and Tray Wellington.
I'm just begging y'all to stop seeing the south and appalachia as a stronghold for white racists and acknowledge the massive contributions of black and indigenous people.

i think its weird that i have to make this disclaimer but the internet is crazy so wtvr,, anyway,,
if i say i dont like something, that doesnt mean "that thing is bad and nobody should post it.."
i swear literally every time i even mention that i dislike something, people will go "wow does that mean u fucking hate me cuz i post that thing? ur a fucking stupid bitch and all ur opinions r wrong" LIKE ?? er.. no. just because i say i dont like certain characterizations of certain characters (the saiki k fandom is CRAZY about this cuz i can state an opinion on literally any character and a group of people will still go 'well only we're allowed to post our opinions about them because we're always right!1!1!'), or certain ship tropes (mentioned my hatred of toxic yaoi maybe once or twice on here months ago and people STILL get mad at me as if i said toxic yaoi lovers r evil or something), or certain ships, or WHATEVER, does not mean that i HATE the people who are posting them or that i think they shouldnt post them at all, NO, im just posting about my personal tastes on my personal blog and it would be extremely weird and hypocritical if i decided that i was the ONLY person that was allowed to do that,,
i think the only reason people assume that is because there are a lot of other people on here who ARE like that, and a lot of people toe the line between posting that they dont like something and posting that they think everyone who likes that thing is stupid, annoying, and wrong,, so i guess all i can say is, sorry for whatever made you make these assumptions but they arent true about me so plz leave me alone ʘ‿ʘ ur doing the same thing to me that ur accusing me of but i didnt do it in the first place so ur just actively being a dick for no reason

i do think that like. the current tiktok phenomenon of bullying teenagers for being really into stranger things, specifically a character who was considered an outcast for being nerdy and neurodivergent coded, is really weird though. like ive never watched stranger things and i dont plan to but like. it's a popular show. no one's going to look at you weird if you say you've watched stranger things and you really liked it. it's one of netflix's big shows
but people on tiktok are specifically making fun of kids who get over emotional about it. i havent touched anything stranger things and i still keep getting recommended tiktoks of people being like imagine getting attached to a character who was only in one season. that's so cringe
why is it now considered cool to be nerdy, but only if you're not too into it? why can i scroll through tiktok and see some conventionally attractive tiktoker get a million views for a low effort anime cosplay and then i scroll down and someone's mocking a stranger things fansong? it's like being a nerd is just an aesthetic and if it's more than that to you then you're a loser
idk it fucking reeks of ableism and i hate it

Kind of a rant with full offense but I genuinely despise all the hate Geeta gets as a champion. Yes her battle was a pushover. You have exactly 1 fire type which could totally be your token “overleveled starter” and she’s basically done for. But as a character? She’s not that bland— not from everyone else’s standpoints. Specifically the gym leaders.
First of all, everyone forgets she’s not even the final battle of the Victory Road storyline. Second of all, the fact that in the post game when you rematch all the gym leaders, many of them seem to react somewhat brashly thinking that you are Geeta (as far as I remember. Cause like. I think they’re supposed to have some sort of meeting I guess but Geeta sends you to take care of matters instead.) Many of them mention Geeta having a weird aura— a bewitching aura even (quote taken specifically from gym leader Tulip.) and she seems to rub a lot of the gym leaders the wrong way mentally. People seem to forget that she’s blatantly supposed to be a character shrouded in mystery but everyone and their mom wanna pin the blame on the rock flower she sends at the end of her battle for why she’s a bad champion. Y’all are focusing on the wrong material. Yes, her battle is pretty decently hyped and is a let down because yeah, she’s got a weird ass team and doesn’t use Kingambit or Glimmora’s ability the “right way” and that “Gamefreak doesn’t know how to make a good game” as if most of y’all weren’t crying at the mere concept of Arven’s whole motive for his storyline. Y’all ain’t slick.
Glimmora as her ace is genius. Not because of the battle standpoint— in that regard, it’s of course used very poorly considering it’s hazard setting gimmick. This is introducing the importance of this Pokémon and the lore of Paldea as a whole. Glimmet and Glimmora have something to do with the origins of Area Zero. The way it’s found in large abundances— the emphasis on the Pokémon in general in the endgame. It’s supposed to display it’s importance and not much else. Maybe even give way to whatever is going on in the DLC. It’s called “The Hidden Treasures Of Area Zero” for goodness sake! I firmly believe that when the DLCs come out, we will be getting some major answers to some questions. Why does she battle so carelessly? Why does she emit such a bewitching aura? Why is Nemona oblivious to this? Why is Geeta just… like that? What! Is! Geeta’s! Deal!?
Geeta is a character with so much opportunity for open speculation. She is a character we are supposed to be theorizing on. She’s a character we are supposed to be learning more about as time goes on.
But all y’all wanna focus on her easy ass battle. Hmph.

Truthfully, as an alter who it is my job to organize, categorize, send out and withhold memories, it baffles me some of the things our bio parents did to us as a child. The thing I'm thinking of right now specifically is the bullying they dished out to US for not doing THEIR JOB!
Let me explain.
It is the job of the parent to teach and nurture the child.
They did not do that.
So when their FIVE YEAR OLD asked them how to tie a towel around their waist and they just laughed and said "You don't know how to tie a towel!? HARDY HAR HAR!"
NO DEBORAH! (not mother's name) YOUR FIVE YEAR OLD, DOES IN FACT, NOT KNOW SOMETHING YOU NEVER TAUGHT THEM! Be shocked I suppose. You're missing out on what would have been beautiful bonding moments to have with your child. Now they're mine! WHO'S LAUGHING NOW? ME!

how long did it take you to like Daigo and Mine? I had a delayed response to the former. I’d played through all the games, nothing. Then one day I was just thinking of how he was yet another example of goth disaster who grows into Fine Young Man (my first was Gaara) and all of a sudden I got struck with the blorbo truck.
bestie. i have no idea LMAOOOO I REALLY COULDN'T TELL YOU
i know with mine at least it took me beating Y3 first and then thinking about his character more and then doing a replay of Y3 and rewatching his scenes. plus then i found all the currently available RGGO stories for him and that p much solidified my adoration for him
with daigo, i think it was just kind of like a gradual thing? my memory of my initial feelings when playin these games are mostly faded (pardon like. Y7 stuff that game and my feelings for it have been branded into my brain 5ever) but i remember as the games went on, i just got happier the more i saw daigo on screen (kind of like how i get when i see date in that 'omg it's my old friend daigo that's my boy :)') to the point where i instantly knew the 'masked figure' in y5 was him just from his sideburns (tho tbf i think we all saw the twist coming from a mile away, but it's the way i saw his sideburns and instantly went 'oh bitch i know those anywhere')
i did think he was dripped the fuck out in Y2 tho
