Black Panther Discussed
Black Panther is the most culturally relevant and important blockbuster film, maybe ever. Ryan Coogler’s entry is most definitely a Marvel film firmly placed within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it reaches well beyond the MCU formula to become an icon of hope and change.
What Marvel has been doing for years now is craft a superhero story that goes beyond conventional superhero narratives. Each iteration strives to add something different. The powers that be (Kevin Feige) are slowly allowing filmmakers to use their own unique voices to tell their own unique stories. The formula is still there because it works, but the way in which they’re told has given us some of the most underrated cinema in ages.
Being a comic book fanatic, it blows my fucking mind that I get to see a Black Panther film on the big screen, but what really makes me proud to be a comic book nerd is that these films are being handled with so much love and so much devotion. The most beautiful thing about the MCU is their deep focus on optimism, humor, and fun. These films are beacons of idealistic human nature that only grow better with age (even if their rushed CGI effects don’t). So to see T’Challa become the king of Wakanda while millions of other audiences witness it for the first time with roaring praise… it’s like a validation of my own spiritual beliefs. These films represent my childhood of collecting every comic book, action figure, and trading card I could get my hands on. So when you take that character and transform him into a symbol of progressive societal change, it becomes something more than the action figure I used to play with because he was my Marvel equivalent to G.I. Joe’s Snake Eyes. The magnitude of cultural representation in Black Panther was overwhelming with positivity, awareness, and appreciation. The costumes deserve Oscar recognition with their attention to detail within each African tribe. The people who showed up to the premiere weren’t dressed like Marvel superheroes, but rather in traditional African clothing. I’ve never seen a better dressed gathering of geeks.
The film is a blast of entertainment. Ryan Coogler was the crystal clear choice to direct Black Panther after he blew the doors off with Creed. Yeah, it’s partially a PR move because he’s black, but it’s mostly because he’s a phenomenal filmmaker. We’re shifting our ideas about what it takes to tell the right story, and when you’re dealing with a black superhero, it takes a black filmmaker to tell it right. However, Coogler could take any story and facilitate a remarkable film, so his talent is far from limited to cultural relativity.
Black Panther is the MCU equivalent to a James Bond film. The locations and story turns are straight out of something like Skyfall. We’ve never seen Marvel go 007, but it’s an unbelievably welcome style that worked tremendously well. The casino scene and its subsequent car chase is arguably one of the most rousing action scenes the MCU has ever done, and it’s easily the stylistically classiest.
Chadwick Boseman is the only actor who could embody T’Challa with a subtle grace and even subtler charm. He’s not only the king of Wakanda but he’s the king of the MCU right now. Andy Serkis chewed up the scenery as one of my favorite Marvel villains because of how comic book-y he was. But this is also the film that gave us maybe the best Marvel villain to date. Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger was revelatory. In a movie about the Black Panther, somehow Ryan Coogler found a way to make the villain the most talked about aspect of the film. Killmonger was teeming with style and menace, but when it came time to reveal his backstory, the audience is almost completely on his side. The points he makes are ripped from today’s headlines like the best episode of Law and Order you’ve ever seen. You weep for him even though you root for T’Challa. So even though I’m tired of Marvel film’s crafting “shadow” villains that mirror their protagonists; this was the exception.
And then you have the women… I loved the portrayal of women in Black Panther. Tell me if I’m wrong, but Marvel has never had better female characters in their films than they did in Black Panther. Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia was fierce, strong, and funny. Letitia Wright as Shuri was the heart and soul of the film with all of the best lines. Shuri was such a millennial character which should have been irritating but they pulled her off unbelievably well. Danai Gurira as Okoye was an absolute badass who rivaled almost every character in the film. Okoye was so goddamn cool that I’m more excited for her return in Avengers: Infinity War than I am for Black Panther's. The film was then still supported by fantastic characters like Martin Freeman’s Everett Ross as the white audience’s avatar. Daniel Kaluuya’s W’kabi was a greatly conflicted but fully realized character. And Winston Duke’s M’Baku stole the show as a standout performance as Man-Ape (who thankfully, was not referred to as Man-Ape).
I wouldn’t say Black Panther is my favorite entry into the MCU. There were still minor issues in pacing and visual effects from being too brightly lit, but there was still purpose to those minor gripes that I can easily forgive after my expectations had skyrocketed. When you have a character like Black Panther be a leader of change within his own cinematic universe that you wish he were the real deal, you’ve created something that transcends blockbuster cinema. Black Panther is now an icon of cultural appreciation that can inspire real change in the real world. He’s an optimistic embodiment of what we should strive to achieve as a society. We should share with the world our hope for change. Comic Book’s have never been so relevant. Black Panther has never been so important.

Earths Mightiest Heroes: The Marvel Cinematic Universe Power Ranking Part 2
Tumblr media
Welcome back to our count down to Avengers: Infinity War! This is it. The best movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You know the drill at this point, so lets just get back to it.
8. Doctor Strange
Tumblr media
The Sorcerer Supremes first film appearance does play like Iron Man with magic, but it gives audiences their first look at the mystic side of the Marvel Universe. This is one of the most visually stunning movies in the line-up. Benedict Cumberbatch is perfect in the role of Doctor Strange, though he should have kept is original voice rather than having an American accent. The best aspect of this film is its resolution because the script turns the Marvel formula on its head. The final confrontation isn’t Doctor Strange punching a giant monster, which is refreshing after seeing so many of these films at this point.
7. The Avengers
Tumblr media
Avengers made cinematic history when it successfully brought together established characters from different films for the ultimate crossover event. Joss Whedon’s script is funny without relying too much on the comedy. The film expertly gives each fan favorite character a moment to shine, while still introducing new heroes. The action in the film is expertly paced and always interesting. This includes the unforgettable scenes on the giant hellicarrier and the final battle. It also pitted the team of superheroes against Loki once again, which to this day is Marvels strongest villain. This movie showed audiences a new type of superhero film. One that would pave the way for the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
6. Captain America: Winter Soldier
Tumblr media
Captain America: Winter Soldier puts Cap in a modern day environment yet still provides an old school story. This film looks and feels like many classic spy films, which is perfect for the character. It also does what every good sequel should do and that’s heightening its characters and the entire Marvel Universe. This film also introduces the Winter Soldier, whose character and backstory might be one of the most interesting in the franchise. This second outing also allows Captain America to be featured in action scenes that are strong, fast, and more intense than ever before.
5. Black Panther
Tumblr media
This year’s Black Panther Release broke the box office making roughly $676 million. This impressive feat places the king of Wakanda as the 32nd highest grossing movie of all time. The film didn’t disappoint fans or critics alike. Black Panther is unlike any other film in the Marvel universe. The world of Wakanda is full realized and is breath taking to look at. The film also bolsters one of the best villain’s in the universe whose story and motivation is conveyed in a way that audiences can understand and even relate to. This makes Killmonger, played by Michael B. Jordan, an extremely effective character. Black Panther is important beyond being a good comic adaptation, but also for being a good representation of African American and women characters. All of this topped with a killer Kendrick Lamar soundtrack. What more could you ask for?
4. Iron Man
Tumblr media
Iron Man was the true start of this whole project. Who knows what would have happened to the Marvel Cinematic Universe if Iron Man wasn’t successful. The film takes a chance with a b-list character at the time and turns him into one of the most recognizable characters in comics. Robert Downey Jr. proves that he can lead a film like this and be the glue this universe needed. What the film does right is show the natural progression of the suit. It never grows tiresome to see Tony Stark creating his iconic armor. The film also hits the sweet spot in regards to its humor with many quotable lines that are still funny ten years later.
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
Tumblr media
Guardians of the Galaxy was the biggest risk that Marvel Studious has ever taken. A film based on obscure characters that even most nerds weren’t fully aware of. This truly tested Marvels quality and its audience’s dedication for the product. Guardians of the Galaxy fully realizes what it is. It understands and accepts the absurdity of its characters, which allows it to simply have fun with the material. This film shows an incredible amount of heart from its writing, cast, and director. The design of the cosmic universe is incredibly creative. The Guardians of the Galaxy is a movie filled with a unique style that proves that even lesser known characters can make a great comic book adaptation.
2. Captain America: Civil War
Tumblr media
Just like the previous Avengers films, Captain America: Civil War is a very ambitious undertaking in regards to the sheer amount of characters involved. Where this film succeeds is its ability to juggle each hero while still keeping the conflict and focus on Captain America and Iron Man. The issue at the core of the film is explored through both sides, which allows the audience to understand why the heroes are put against each other. The plot twists throughout does what many of these films don’t, which is bring something truly unexpected. The film also does a terrific job introducing Spider-Man and Black Panther. Both of these characters steal each and every scene they are in. Not to mention the fight scene at the airport might be the best action scene throughout all the Marvel films.
1 . Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Tumblr media
I know that this is a pick that some are sure to support me on while others might condemn me for. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a rare case where the sequel is better than the original. It takes each and every character and pushes them emotionally allowing for a natural development. This is a film that takes its time and actually develops its villain. This slower more plot heavy movie leads to one of the most powerful moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The villain provides an interesting viewpoint on life in the universe and gives a nice dynamic with the guardians. The Guardians of the Galaxy show what a comic book movie should really be, and that is simply fun. This is a quality the movie shows in spades from its action scenes, music, characters, and even dance numbers. Perhaps I am biased because I am sentimental with this film and its characters, or maybe it’s because Starlord is my favorite Marvel hero. Whatever the reason may be. I have watched this movie multiple times and enjoyed immensely with every viewing.
Well there you have it. Ten years’ worth of superhero films all packed into one power ranking. Just remember that this ranking is completely based on how much I enjoyed each film. The beauty of there being so many comic book films is that everyone has a favorite film or character. It’s almost like each opinion is different and justifiable. This creates a unique bond between the audience and the films characters. Infinity War promises to be the biggest movie cross over to date, which is a big claim when you look into the studious past. This leaves me to ask myself where will Avengers: Infinity War land on the power ranking?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
13th installment of the MCU
Tumblr media
Welcome back to another MCU review, everyone! Today’s review is about the 13th film in the Marvel cinematic universe, and the 3rd and final film in the Captain America trilogy as of today. We’ll be analyzing and reviewing this film based on the things that stuck out the most to me, like always. Without further ado, let’s get right into it.
Tumblr media
Now, normally this is the part where I mention an outstanding actor in the film, as you all know. You probably expected someone like Tom Holland as Spider-Man or Michael B. Jordan as Black Panther, but actually, my praise goes to Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo (above). This Baron Zemo is by far one of my favorite villains in the MCU’s entirety. And I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous to say, considering he is without his awesome purple mask and superhuman abilities and all that, but the main reason I appreciate this version of Zemo so much was because of his starting the conflict between Tony and Bucky and causing everyone to turn against each other. What puts him aside from many other MCU villains is that he brought the Avengers so much closer to being destroyed than any other MCU villain as of then. And he did it efficiently and without superpowers! This Zemo isn’t the Zemo that anyone expected or really wanted, but he got the job done better than any other villain without even taking down a single building!... Well, maybe one building and possibly an airplane. I’ll go over my favorite scene from the movie in the next paragraph.
Tumblr media
What makes Civil War so amazing is not only the fight scenes, but the fact that it’s such a huge turning point in the MCU, and it’s one of the biggest reasons for the results of Infinity war and the future of the MCU. But the fight scenes are still the awesomest i’ve ever seen in an MCU film. Of course, there’s the iconic airport fight scene between all of the Avengers (above) but my personal favorite is Iron Man vs. Bucky and Cap, for its intensity and Tony’s motives. That scene was just so powerful to me, and it had me rooting for one side at one point, but then the other side at another because of how both sides are so justified. Civil War includes more than half of the main Avengers, and all of the new ones, too. It’s more of an Avengers movie to me than it is a Captain America movie, and that’s a good thing! Captain America: Civil War is my favorite MCU film to date, and it’s always been since when I first saw it. But we’ll just have to see if Avengers: Endgame changes that.
I give it a
5/5

Welcome to the F.C.U. (The Fargo Cinematic Universe)
In 1996, Joel & Ethan Coen created what many feel is their masterwork film, the murder mystery, crime drama, sociological regional study we lovingly know as Fargo. Near the end of the film, the only remaining living suspect, Gaear Grimsrud, is found stuffing the foot of his former partner in crime into a wood chipper near a cabin on a pristine frozen lake in the dead of winter. When the true hero of the film, pregnant law enforcement officer Marge Gunderson, stumbles across the crime scene, she shoots the eerily vacant-eyed psychopath in the leg as he tries to escape across the lake. As she transports him back across that frozen white tundra, she tries to make sense of the inconceivable tragedy which has unfolded.
“So, that was Mrs. Lundegaard on the floor in there,” says Gunderson. “And I guess that was your accomplice in the wood chipper.  And those three people in Brainerd.  And for what? For a little bit of money? There's more to life than a little money, you know.  Don'tcha know that?  And here ya are, and it's a beautiful day.  Well.  I just don't understand it.”
It was an amazingly well-crafted moment and perfectly captured our feeling of revulsion and bewilderment.  Why would anyone commit those horrific acts on another human being?  What could happen in anyone’s life that would allow him or her to think that this was any way to behave?  Fargo would go on to win two Academy Awards – one for Frances McDormand for Best Actress and one for the Coen brothers for Best Screenplay.
I’ll be the first to admit that when FX announced it was doing a television version of Fargo, I was very skeptical.  I mean, how could FX top the movie?  Without the Coen brothers?
Well, the third season of showrunner-extraordinaire Noah Hawley’s expansion of that world is now underway on the FX network.  What began as a sparse, tightly written 98 minute film has now spawned two (going on three) seasons of gripping crime drama with a healthy dose of absurdist humor and a sprinkle of supernatural goings-on.   So what’s the secret?  How was Hawley and his team of writers able to so brilliantly capture the magic?  Not since M*A*S*H has there been such a critically renowned film that’s been turned into an unforgettable television program.
So here, then, are the ingredients for what I think you need to create what I think is the most imaginative program on television.
Strong female lead characters
It is a tired old trope, but with very few exceptions, crime dramas generally tend to have far more testosterone.  Fargo, I can happily report, is the exception to the rule.  Following in the film’s footsteps, the lead female characters are strong-willed, capable women who can take care of themselves, thank you very much.  Molly Solverson (played by Allison Tolman) in season one and Carrie Coon’s character Gloria Burgle in season three are both dedicated, heroic police officers who innately can sense when something is amiss.  And Cristin Miliotti’s portrayal of Molly Solverson’s cancer inflicted mother Betsy in the time jump in season two is a testament to her acting ability and the level of writing on the show.
Even better, the women on the other side of the law are all well-drawn, motivated characters.  Jean Smart’s portrayal of the Gerhardt family matriarch was Emmy-worthy in season 2, as was Kirsten Dunst’s performance as hairdresser turned criminal Peggy Blumquist.  And my favorite femme fatale so far is season three’s stupendously-named Nikki Swango, wonderfully played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead.  Every time Nikki Swango is on screen you can almost hear Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” playing in your mind.  You know she’s in charge, and her manipulation of Ray Stussy so far has been wondrous to behold.  The women in Fargo are every bit as heroic, villainous, dedicated and savage as the men, if not more so.
Quirky Secondary Characters
Maybe it’s the accents.  Maybe it’s the names.  Whatever it is, the secondary characters in Fargo are so cleverly created.  Every character has a significant purpose in the plot and every character seems to have personality quirks which draw us in.   Bokeem Woodbine’s Mike Milligan, the philosophizing hit man.  Brad Garrett’s Joe Bulo, an almost bureaucratic mob boss.  Nick Offerman’s hilarious portrayal of Karl Weathers, an alcoholic libertarian lawyer.  Ted Danson’s gentle Sheriff Hank Larsson who is trying to create a new language to foster greater understanding between people.  And my favorite, the always reliable Oliver Platt and his portrayal of supermarket king Stavros Milos, whose discovery of a certain briefcase full of cash on a lone, desolate highway connects the television Fargo with the movie.
Star Power
The ever expanding list of top flight actors who appear in Fargo is truly mindboggling.  The shorter shooting seasons which have now become the norm in television dramas has allowed an influx of a-team talent to lend the very capable writers a never ending parade of remarkable performances.  When your program can list the names above as well as Billy Bob Thornton, Bob Odenkirk, Keith Carradine, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Stephen Root, Adam Goldberg, Patrick Wilson, Jesse Plemons, Adam Arkin and David Thewlis, you’re doing something right.
Family Rivalries
Each season seems to focus, at least partially, on a rivalry between family members.  Whether it’s desperate bad guy wannabe Lester Nygaard (played by Martin Freeman ditching his British accent) sneaking out of the hospital in the middle of the night to plant evidence to frame his brother Chazz for murder, or the season long war between the crime family Gerhardt brothers in season two, Fargo excels at capturing the out and out animosity that can (and frequently does) exist between siblings.  Season three’s stunt casting of Ewan MacGregor playing both Ray and Emmit Stussy, brothers in conflict over a rare stamp and a decrepit Corvette Stingray, continues the almost biblical family battles we have seen to date.
Unfathomable Pinhead-ery and the Inevitability of Fate
When Nikki describes the official cause of death of drug addict Maurice LeFay, a parolee who was crushed by a two-hundred pound air conditioner pushed out of a window by Swango and her lover Ray Stussy after accidentally killing the wrong victim at the wrong address, as “unfathomable pinhead-ery,” you know you’ve struck gold.  Many of the plot complications on Fargo are not the result of a master criminal carrying out a complicated, Ocean’s Eleven-type scheme.  Inevitably, the crimes committed in Fargo are of the purely accidental variety and are the worst possible idea anyone could ever have in their short, strange lives.  The ideas never work, but the randomness of the crimes lead to a far greater ripple effect of violence and bloodshed.  Those ripples always begin as diminutive pebbles thrown into the frozen waters in this series.  But those ripples always grow exponentially into destructive waves.
The fact that we know almost certainly that certain characters will meet their end is something we always see coming from the beginning.  But what is remarkable is how the characters meet their ends.  After Lester spends the better part of ten episodes wiggling out of one jam after another following the mutually agreed upon murder of his wife by supernova of evil Lorne Malvo (Billy Bob Thornton), Lester finally dies by falling into a hole in the ice trying to evade the police, echoing the previous accidental death of a man mistaken for Lorne Malvo.  Whether the death is by a plummeting air conditioner, the sudden random savagery of murdering twenty-two people in an office building, being hit by a car after murdering everyone in a diner or a car accident caused by a mysterious rainstorm of fish, the inevitable fate met by Fargo’s characters is probably one of the most satisfying and inventive aspects of Fargo.
Beautiful and Inventive Cinematography
I could spend pages just writing about the camera work done on this series.  So many moments of stark beauty, creative storytelling and flat out kick ass cinematography.  Case in point.  The P.O.V. camera on the air conditioner falling in free flight.  Or how about the final shot of the season opening pre-title sequence in East Berlin that slow zooms into a picture on the wall of what will become the Stussy backyard looking at rows of frosted trees in what is now the traditional Fargo title sequence.  Gorgeous and forlorn horizontal lines of tundra and snow.  The camera work on Fargo challenges the standard bearer Breaking Bad on creative placement and use of cameras.
Unspeakably evil characters with little to no compunction of any sense of morality
And…
Morally ambivalent characters who find themselves tempted to commit crimes either by accident or the temptation of a better life
In Fargo, these two categories go hand in hand.  The absolute evil of Lorne Malvo and his ingenious yet devious means of eliminating his targets is an example of the first category from season one.  As is the hilarious savagery of David Thewlis as the mobster/money launderer V. M. Varga in season three.  The truly evil characters in Fargo don’t care a whit about life or the morality of protecting it.   Inevitably, there is a huge chemical reaction when the truly evil meet the morally ambivalent.  (spoiler alert – evil always wins due to a failure to recognize that evil doesn’t care about a “no rough stuff type of deal.”)  The moments where the morally ambivalent see the true depths of depravity that humans are capable of recalls what Marge Gunderson was commenting on in that police cruiser.
What’s most remarkable about both the film and the television show is that writing never stoops to condescension; the plots and characters in Fargo are not being written in a fashion seeking to humiliate the people who live in the northern Midwest “flyover states.”  Instead, the world Fargo inhabits is simply the setting of a grand drama, like Elsinore, Verona or Athens.  The characters may have funny accents we’re not used to hearing, but they are fully developed three dimensional characters who only enliven and enrich what is arguably the best program on television.

Teen Choice Awards: ‘Riverdale’, BTS Army steal the show
New Post has been published on https://latestnews2018.com/teen-choice-awards-riverdale-bts-army-steal-the-show/
Teen Choice Awards: ‘Riverdale’, BTS Army steal the show
Highlights included Zac Efron bromancing Hugh Jackman, while Anna Kendrick threw shade at Ryan Reynolds
It was a night of bittersweet celebration and some cheeky interplay as the Teen Choice Awards 2018 unspooled with plenty of on stage action at The Forum in Los Angeles.
The ceremony, which was hosted by Nick Cannon and Lele Pons, saw teen drama Riverdale sweep the awards with nine wins, while Zac Efron threw some love at Hugh Jackman on stage in a long and rambling speech.
The night saw some great performances by Khalid, Lauv, Evvie McKinney, Bebe Rexha and Meghan Trainor, while Chris Pratt, Chloe Grace Moretz, Anna Kendrick and Nina Dobrev beamed their way on the red carpet.
Gulf News tabloid! breaks down the top moments of the night:
Zac Efron fanboying the cast of The Greatest Showman
One of the best things to come out of The Greatest Showman — aside from the soundtrack — is the budding bromance between the lead stars Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron. Love was in the air as Efron gushed over his acceptance speech while winning three awards on the night, including Choice Drama Movie Actor, Choice Movie Ship (with Zendaya) and Choice Collaboration (Rewrite the Stars).
Speaking on his win, Efron said: “Like, from the bottom of my heart, I couldn’t ask for a more cooler, amazing person to work with. He’s my best dramatic actor, and a hero, and a mentor and a good friend. Thank you Hugh Jackman.”
Just when you thought, the actor had rambled on long enough, Efron took a breath and continued to thank Zendaya as well, with a final message: “Look what we did! We rewrote the stars!”
Anna Kendrick throwing shade at Ryan Reynolds
If there was ever any doubt why everyone loves Anna Kendrick, her acceptance speech after winning the surfboard for Choice Comedy Movie Actress and a surprise Choice Twit gong was a riot.
Needless to say, Kendrick used the opportunity to fuel her mock feud with Ryan Reynolds.
“Ok, did I just hear that I won Choice Twitter? Oh my God!… I have so much fun on Twitter. And I know that Mindy [Kaling] and Kumail [Nanjiani] were also nominated,” she said, before adding: “And also I know that Ryan Reynolds was nominated, so in your face Ryan! Stay in your lane!”
The Pitch Perfect 3 star has been hilariously shading Reynolds on social media with a little help from his wife Blake Lively, and her co-star from A Simple Favor.
In June, Lively tweeted an image of the poster of the upcoming thriller, posting: “@annakendrick47 is the hotter, female(r) version of my husband… so, would it reaaaally count as cheating??”
Kendrick soon chimed in to write: “So glad we’re finally taking this public. I let Ryan have Deadpool, he can give me this.”
Reynolds, meanwhile, wouldn’t have any of it. In an interview with ET at Comic-Con, Reynolds responded to the war of tweets saying: “I know a lot of guys that would be fine with that, but not me. I would like to hang onto her.”
Riverdale’s still waters run deep
The teen drama swept the Teen Choice Awards with a total of nine solid wins, including Choice Drama TV Show and Choice Liplock. The whole cast, including KJ Apa, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch and Vanessa Morgan, turned up for the night with their cheeky behaviour firmly in check.
Apa was on a roll with that epic photobomb of real-life couple Sprouse and Reinhart who won Choice TV Ship and Liplock. Although, Sprouse, who plays Jughead on the Archie-comics inspired show, wouldn’t let Apa get off so easily.
While accepting the Choice Drama TV show, Sprouse gave his best bud a friendly little spank on stage to ebb him on with his speech.
Shadowhunters for the win
It was a bittersweet moment for fans when the cast of the Freeform series, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments, turned up on stage to accept the surfboard for the Choice Sci-Fi TV Show. Earlier this week, the show’s makers confirmed there would be no fourth season after it wraps up the current one.
Fans have been campaigning for Netflix or some other streaming platform to come in to sweep the day.
After seven nominations, this Choice win, along with an award for lead star Matthew Daddario for Choice Sci-Fi TV Actor, was a fitting end to the series for fans.
Spoiler alert: It’s Chris Hemsworth again
When Chris Hemsworth is in the picture, you can be rest assured some goofy antic is about to go down. The Aussie star accepted his Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor via FaceTime, with a little help from the awards mascot, Choicey.
Hopping with glee, Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was quick to give fans a bit of gossip of what would go down in the upcoming sequel to Avengers: Infinity War.
Unfortunately for us, the connection quiet conveniently cut off at all the key moments. Although, Hemsworth did get a final message out where he thanked his fans for the win, before shouting: “Thanos! Stop killing my friends!”
All hail the BTS Army
K-Pop continued its global domination with boy band BTS and its Army of fans winning top awards at the Teen Choice 2018. While BTS was not around to accept its Choice International Artist for the second consecutive year, its Army of fans were definitely around to win Choice Fandom, beating out against fans of Taylor Swift, Fifth Harmony and One Direction. That is a feat in itself.
Watching them storm the Teen Choice stage was pure gold!
